Welcome in hour number two, Clay Travis Buck Sexton Show. We'll see how many different callers want to tell me I'm nuts here in the second hour of the program. I'm on a real run in the first hour. We've been discussing Iran discussions that are scheduled for tomorrow negotiations on Tuesday as the ceasefire nears and in. President Trump has said that he's unlikely to extend the ceasefire deadline. I would suggest to you that Trump is not unlikely to extend the ceasefire deadline. Buck, I think you've been saying you thought it was likely that it would be extended for some time. I've predicted day one, this ceasefire. It's going to be a big, beautiful agreement to agree to talk about a future agreement. Just watch. Trump says it will expire for the record on Wednesday evening United States time. And there are reports that Iran is sending a negotiating team as well as the United States sending a negotiated team, negotiation team. And again, President Trump saying it's highly unlikely that a truce will be extended. Now, so that is out there. I laid out to me what I think are the goals of the United States, nuclear dust seized in some way by us, and the straight open for commerce without any threats, no blockade by us, no danger of tankers being seized as we did, and no dangers of any attacks on any of the oil and gas ships for...

3:30

that are attempting to transit the region. So we will see what happens there and we'll take some of your calls from many different people involved in analyzing the situation in Iran. But I did want to mention this buck as we come up on the midterms. Maybe the most significant redistricting decision being made by a state. other than Florida, because Florida still has to make a decision on redistricting, and the Supreme Court still has to make a decision on redistricting, which we will talk about shortly, is the attempt of Virginia and their newly elected Democrat governor, Abigail Spanberger, to effectively eliminate Republican congressional seats in the state. I believe Buck, this would take us to essentially a one, I think this is the plan. is there would effectively be one Republican who would be representing the state of Virginia, a state where Trump won roughly 45, 46% of the vote in the 2024 election. So not quite a 50-50 state, but Virginia was one of two states that the Trump team really does believe Buck, the New Jersey and Virginia. The Trump team thinks if they had had Kamala Harris level money. if they had been able to, in other words, spend a billion dollars like Kamala Harris did, way more money that Kamala Harris spent than was spent by the Trump team. that they could have flipped New Jersey and they could have flipped Virginia. I believe they lost both states by roughly five points. So very competitive state where a huge number of you are listening to us right now in Virginia and voted Republican. They just elected a Republican governor in 2021. Glenn Youngkin, you can only serve one term. Buck, I think you sign off with me. that if you had been able to serve a second term, Glenn Youngkin probably would have won pretty comfortably in Virginia because he had really high favorability ratings. People were very happy on average with his overall leadership there. So this is a huge step. We will see what the vote is going to be. Reportedly is going to be close, but it would effectively end. the Republican Party having any sort of substantial stake in the congressional districts of Virginia. And the way they would do this, and this is significant, is they basically are flooding all of the districts in northern Virginia, which is the most Democrat by far. They're taking away all of the power of the so-called lower Virginia of the parts that border West Virginia and Tennessee and North Carolina and basically doing away. with the power of all of those people. Can I also just remind everyone here? Because this is not a both-sides-ism. Democrats, when it comes to power, go for the jugular. Every time. Every time, you know, like a Bengal tiger jumping out of the tall grass onto some little villager, some hapless villager somewhere, and just going right for the throat. Democrats...

6:42

I thought that was kind of stark imagery for you all. Democrats, they just go for it. Meanwhile, Clay, we have a fantastic Heritage Radio station in Indiana, for example, whoa, whoa. So many of you, whoa, whoa, listeners know exactly what I'm going to say. When Trump tells Indiana, hey, guys, redistrict that thing as strongly as he can for the Republicans. It is lawful. It is within your power. Just do it. The senators, state senators. decided, no, it's not nice. It sets a bad precedent. We're not going to do that. We don't want a mid-cycle redraw. Uh, okay. Well, look what, look at Virginia. I mean, it's just, it's a perfect example. What, about a year, a year apart. Democrats have a chance to just completely gut the GOP for congressional seats in their state. They do it. As much as they possibly, it doesn't matter. Have you seen the map, but like the actual physical map of Virginia, you know? I'm looking at it right now as you are talking about this. I'm legitimately looking at the maps, and it is outlandish the way in which they are skewing it all to Northern Virginia to ensure that they have blue voters in districts that there's no basis at all to have blue voters in. And I just have to remind you all that, you know, in Indiana, a bright, remember. Virginia is a purple state. Indiana is a bright red state. And in our bright red state, a bunch of GOP principled guys in the state Senate. We're like, no, we're not going to do that, Jerry Manry. Even though Trump wants it, the Republican Party wants it, we're not going to do it. We're just not going to. And then Virginia, in a very purple state, goes... all the way to the max for the Democrat Party. Clay, this stuff in a tight Senate or rather a tight Congress, this stuff makes a difference. Huge difference. And let me hit you with more of the data on this. And again, the voting is going on tomorrow. It is a redistricting amendment that would take it from 6 to 5 Democrat favored to 10 to 1 Democrat favored. So Democrats would pick up four congressional seats in a... United States country where four congressional districts very likely could swing. Now, I'll talk about Florida in a sec and the Supreme Court buck, but in 2024, Kamala Harris got 51.8% of the vote. Donald Trump got 46.05. So about 5. what, 6 or 7% difference. So again, 46% of Virginia voters said, we are Republicans in 2024. They would go down to one. Now, Florida still has to decide what they're going to do. And there has been some talk that Florida could still redistrict, maybe partly determined by what happens here. But the biggest part of this, but the Supreme Court still has a decision to render here, likely being written by Samuel Alito.

9:50

And in that Supreme Court decision, it is likely that majority minority racial gerrymandering will be ruled unconstitutional, which could cost Democrats double-digit seats, particularly in the South. Now, It's unlikely, however, that that decision is going to come out in time for it to be applied for 2026. So it would not come out until 2028, meaning Democrats are trying to rig things as much as they can in the meantime. Now, so this story is big. If you are listening to us in Virginia, it's very close, even though Democrats in Virginia had a lot of success just last November. There is not some certainty over whether it's going to pass or not. In fact, as I'm talking to you, Buck, I'm going to look up and see what the forecast prediction markets are. But I would say it's a small favorite likely to pass, but this is still something where if you're listening to us and you are a Republican and you go out and vote, that this is still one that could be one. But I do think it's important. that we're talking about, look, I mean, from 6 to 5 to 10 to 1, in a state that is super close, they are saying that they're willing to do, to your point, Buck, whatever is necessary in order to win. And right now there is an 84% chance on the prediction markets that this is going to pass tomorrow. So there is a decent likelihood that when we start the show on Wednesday, When we sit down to talk with all of you at noon Eastern on Wednesday, we're going to be saying Democrats in Virginia did what Republicans in Indiana were not willing to do, what Republicans have not been willing to do. There's no state like this buck. There will not be a state that is 51 to 46 like this with a 10 to 1 slant like we are seeing in Virginia. Virginia will be... the most gerrymandered competitive state anywhere in the nation. And by the way, there are lots of other states where if you look at this, Democrats have been more aggressive in gerrymandering than Republicans largely have. particularly when you look at relatively close states like Virginia. So we will see what ends up happening going forward, but that referendum is big news. And the Supreme Court decision when it eventually comes out is also huge news as we all sit and wait to see what will happen with those results tomorrow. And by the way, when do we have Molly Hemingway on? Is she on Tuesday, I think, with us to talk about the Samuel Alito case? Buck, did you read? The revelations from her book, I can't wait to talk with her about this tomorrow, about the members of the conservative majority on Dobbs went to the liberals and said, people are threatening to kill us because this opinion has been leaked. As we talked about on this program was likely to be the case.

13:01

And they begged the Democrat members of the Supreme Court to go ahead and get their dissents written. So the case, once it's published, it's law. But until it's published, as we told you, and as the person who showed up to try to kill Brett Kavanaugh knew, until it's published, there is no final verdict. So you had a situation where... There could be someone killed to try and swing, or multiple people killed, to try and swing the outcome of the Dobbs case, and they wouldn't accelerate the writing of their actual opinions, even despite the danger. The allegation actually, Clay, is that they went in the opposite direction, that they slow rolled it, which means they were hoping that the pressure... of assassination threat against their colleagues might jog their memories about the disgusting. These people worship abortion. They worship Mollock. It is grotesque. It is child sacrifice. And the Democrat Party will have this as a stain on its soul for all time, regardless of what the Supreme Court says or does not say. So that case, as we wait for it, we'll talk about this a lot with Molly Hemingway tomorrow, but I would encourage you if you haven't already read. to read that report about the way all of that is potentially going to be working itself out. We've got loaded lines. We'll get to some of your calls and make sure that we get all your feedback in as the Iran negotiations continue. The negotiations surrounding whether the negotiations will continue potentially is the way to put that best. But I want to tell you right now, LifeLock, your online identity valuable. Welcome back into Clay and Buck, and we've got a lot of callers. Let's see here. Let's take Rob in Missouri. Rob, what's going on? You did tours in Kuwait and Afghanistan. Thank you for your service. What are your thoughts? Yeah, I was listening to this whole thing, and you're correct. I did two years in Iraq. I did two years in Afghanistan. I did four years in Kuwait, and all of it I did working as a Department of Defense contractor. Having said that, I've been to 57 fallen comrades ceremonies during the whole time that I was over there. I personally have went through rocket attacks. I've laid on the floor in futile position praying to God that I wouldn't be killed. And unfortunately, there were 57 people that were killed that I intended their service. The way I look at things, as long as this has been going on, and by the way, I was in Diego, Diego Garcia, back when the Marine bombing took place in Lebanon. But having said all of that... I've been around the Middle East quite a long time. I know quite a few Iranian folks that are against the regime. At this stage of the game, we have to look at history, and we can't let history repeat itself. You know, back in World War II... Japan was willing to throw as many people is necessary to achieve victory. And they would kill themselves in the midst of the... Right. And we're coming to the thesis here. We had to nuke them to get them to not do that. So are you saying we need to hit them harder in Iran? What's your... What I'm saying is that just as McArthur did, we need an unconditional surrender is what we need. Okay. Thank you for calling in Rob. I appreciate you. Appreciate your service. Iran is not going to unconditionally surrender. And we're not going to nuke them. And we're not going to land for this. So we have to work within what is possible here, as in what Trump is willing to do and what the Iranians are theoretically willing to do in response or possibly willing to do as in if it's not theoretically possible, we can't hope for that. I want to get another caller, but let's just say this. You and I would both be. in huge favor. If Iran would unconditionally surrender and just call uncle and say you are our daddy, like, you know, whatever you want to do to us, you can, that isn't a viable outcome here. Nothing would make Clay happier than Iran. embracing SEC football and hot chicks walking around Tehran and mini skirts and everyone being free and happy. That is Clay. Clay would sign on for that tomorrow. That's my ideal world. That's my ideal world for everyone, by the way. We're not in the ideal world, unfortunately. So that's not likely to happen. Martin in Colorado. What's going on, Martin?

20:49

Hi there. I heard your goals, three or four, whatever they are. It's inconceivable to me, partly addressing the previous guy. It's inconceivable to me to say, thou shall stop all forms of terrorist support, whether it's firing missiles or sending weapons or whatever. And this is non-negotiable. Every time you do it, we'll collect evidence. of our choosing, and we will take away X percent of your economy, whether it's 5 percent or 10 percent or 2 percent, a nibble at a time, pumping stations, port facilities, and we'll wall off a significant portion of the country so we can deliver arms to a civilian civil war, civil war force. Thank you for the call. Guys, we've got to get you to your thesis quickly here on calls. You've got to tell us what you're thinking right away because we ran out of time. Go ahead, Clay. And we'll talk about that a little bit when we come back. In the meantime, I can save you up to $1,000. If you go to Pure Talk right now, you can switch over by doing pound 250 with your cell phones right now. You can keep your same phone and your same phone number 3499 a month, unlimited high-speed data call and text. how much of the better deal that is likely to be for you 3499 a month switch to pure talk again it's super easy you can keep your same phone and your same phone number just dial pound two five zero say clay and buck unlimited high speed data 3499 again it's as easy as pound two five zero pure talk will save you a bundle i use it for my two oldest kids you can use it for your family too pound two five zero say clay and buck that's pound two five zero say clay and buck welcome back in clay travis buck sexton show a bunch of you want to weigh in on iran i would just say get to it fast um and there's a difference between what you want and what you can get um and uh there's people who've written you don't always get what you want That's right. That was not elite singing, but the right theme that I think a lot of you out there will understand. And there are a lot of people who say, oh, well, I want every member of the IRGC gone. I agree with you. I want Iran to pronounce terrorism. I agree with you. I want Iran to say that they will never get nuclear weapons and I want them to hand all of their nuclear weapons to us. I agree with all that. In a negotiation, this is the reality. I think, Buck, you tell me if you think I'm wrong on this. Iran believes that the United States will not put boots on the ground in Iran. And so long as that is the situation, that is the case, then we have basically done everything that we can do up to and including this blockade that can curtail or constrain in any way Iran. without actually trying to put boots on the ground like we did in Afghanistan and like we did in Iraq. And let me just add this. One of the awful legacies of failed military occupations is a lot of people believe it's impossible to ever have a successful military occupation. The reality is there have been a lot of successful military occupations in the history of the world. You and I talked about this a little bit.

24:28

The entire rebuilding after World War II was an insanely successful military occupation. In the Pacific and in Europe, we rebuilt the entire European continent and much of Asia and put the world on much better footing with the Marshall Plan and other aspects of the post-war, which we won and made the world all better. But in the wake of the disasters of what happened in Iraq and Afghanistan, we spent trillions of dollars, lost thousands of lives, and not a lot changed. Many people have decided we never want to put boots on the ground ever again. If Iran knows that, then they also know that we have a midterm election in November. And the president likely recognizes, as do most Republicans and most of you out there listening. that gas prices, if they are $5 a gallon or $450 a gallon, now they're starting to come back and that is a good thing. But if they're high gas prices, that is very bad for the incumbent party. And so Iran's strongest aspect here is just if they won't put boots on the ground and that we will hold out economic pain and we will negotiate. All right. So I think you have to negotiate with Iran. With that being said, what that negotiation looked like, what I said is you have to give the idea of Iran getting something as a way for them to be willing to negotiate. Now, a lot of you want to weigh in. Jack and St. Louis, your take. We stick with military targets, command and control, take out the Iranian guard that's mucking up the talks, and also they are responsible for... screwing up the Gulf and sending boats and mines out there. So target them, get rid of them, stay away from the civilian targets like utilities. So you just thank you for the call. Jack and St. Louis just wants more military strikes inside of Iran. Valid perspective that could be done. Let's see. Donald in New Orleans. Hey. Hello. Yes. The Democrats will use the price of gas to beat up on Trump and the Republicans in the midterm. So I just want to give a perspective. In 1980, average gas prices were between $1.19 and $1.22 a gallon. If you look at the consumer price index, which is inflation, this price... roughly equates to $4.30 to $4.90 in today's dollars. And if you discount the increases in state...

27:26

sales taxes on gasoline, it's well below the 1980 prices. So I'm just trying to get that word out. No, I appreciate the call. Yes, when you adjust gas prices for consumer price index and even more when you index them for purposes of average income now, gas has never been cheaper. That's all true. If gas is $5, people are going to be angry. That's also true. If gas is $450, people are going to be angry. It doesn't have to always be rational. When people are angry about their economic situation, they blame the party in power. And I think Democrats know that, which is why they don't really have any solution. They just have point to an issue. Let's see. Dave in Chesape, what you got? Hey, Clay and Buck. Bees some in 10 seconds, man. The people of Iran lived under a secular government under the show at one time. Why can't they do it again? Because the guys with guns are not in a secular government. The guys with guns existed during the show. So the answer is, thank you for the call. Buck and I would love. Can I jump in really quickly, though? This is important. This is important. I don't want you to respond to him, but. thesis in 10 seconds may need to be a thing for our callers now. I need a thesis in 10 seconds, guys. You know, you can go a little longer than 10, but I need to know what you're talking about in 10 seconds, and then if you have to clarify a little bit, because a lot of people say, why don't you guys take more callers to get more in? If we take a caller and they take 90 seconds to tell us what they're going to say, the other five or six people who have all been on hold for an hour, we have no time to get to. So thesis in 10 seconds, new rule. I like thesis in 10 seconds. I do love thesis in 10 seconds. And pretend that you're talking to a girl at the bar and you have to get her attention. Go with your best line. Get us with your best line off the top. We don't need to know your background. We don't need to know your bio. We don't need to know what your name is or where you're even from, hardly. We can get to that if you're brilliant. Give us your best thesis. I appreciate that call. The reason, I think the majority of people in Iran wish that they were not governed by the government that they have right now. The problem is they have no weapons and the people who do have the weapons are in power. And they just killed tens of thousands of people for marching in the streets and saying, hey, we want a new government. So you know right now if you go march in the streets and say you want a new government, there's a decent chance you're going to get murdered by the government. That's the challenge, right? It's not a matter of what they want. It's a matter of what risk are you willing to take. That is your life and maybe your family's life in order to get the government that you want. Jimmy, Santa Barbara, you think Obama did a great job negotiating with Iran? No, I'm saying there's no difference materially between what Trump's proposing and what the JCPA was. Pallels of cash reparations, you have IAEA inspector, because that's the only thing that Iran is going to agree to, and then you also are going to have to have some sort of sanctions relief on their oil. That's exactly what the JCPOA was. So if you want to roadmap out of this, we had it 12 years ago before Trump blew it up.

30:38

Okay. You realize that Iran is going to continue to pursue nuclear weapons and that they were lying to Obama about not pursuing nuclear weapons, right? And that we gave them billions of dollars in cash off of airplanes that we flew into the country and that that was all a disaster, right? That we were being played and they weren't actually living up to the terms that they agreed to. How are you going to enforce the IRGC to do anything outside of boots on the ground? That's the point that you were making earlier, and it's the correct one. You are not going to be able to enforce U.S. boots on the ground against the regime whose father you just killed, who, by the way, it was way more moderate than he is. So what, okay, so your, hold on, your solution is Obama was right? No, my solution is that Trump isn't offering anything different with the JCPA did. Okay, so what are you offering? What do you want? What I'm saying is that if you're going to be going with the IAEA route, you probably need to have some sort of Israeli entrance into that because outside of them, they can blow this whole thing up too. They decide they don't like the deal. They could start launching weapons again. We're back to square one. So you have to include Israelis in the inspectors because, you know, Mossad is in there anyway. He might as well make an official. Well, I think that's, thank you for the call. I think that's certainly going to be occurring. I mean, Iran is not going to be just dealing with the United States. We're going to have Israeli observation here, too. Look, the analogy that I would make, if you wanted me to make an analogy, which we've made on this show before, is... It is imperative and rational if you are in the Iranian government to want nuclear weapons. I think a lot of people miss that. It is imminently rational, even though they may be religious zealots and they may be terrorists and we may hate their motivations. Buck, you know this. What's the number one way to ensure that you stay in power no matter how crazy you are in the world today? Nuclear weapons. North Korea is crazy. But we have to deal with them because they have nuclear weapons. It was eminently rational in the 1990s for North Korea to get nuclear weapons because it ensured they would be able to stay in power basically forever. And let me tell you something. The whole Gaddafi thing, which gets completely memory hold by the Democrats because that ended up, it's just a disaster. They broke Libya. There was no plan. There was nothing. And it was just a total, you know, all of a sudden you got Christians having their heads chopped off on the beach on video. The whole thing was a total disaster. Gaddafi was starting to play ball with the West. And he's like, all right, I'm going to give up on the whole weapons of mass destruction thing and whatever. And he ended up on a video with people sticking knives in really bad places and killing him, okay? What about Ukraine?

33:29

Ukraine listened to us and said, hey, you know what, it's too risky for us to have nuclear weapons. But you promise, you promise, promise us that if Russia ever tries to do anything to us, you've got our back. They gave up their nukes. Russia would have never invaded Ukraine if they had kept their nukes. Think about it this way. For a lot of you who carry, some of you open carry, I think a lot more you conceal carry. I was just shooting this past weekend, by the way, Carol Markowitz came out. We took out my B&T, gave that a whirl with a suppressor on. I had a lot of fun. Go check it out on Instagram. But I bring this up, Clay, because, okay, if someone's going to go up to you and punch you in the face, but they see that you're carrying a pistol that they have to assume is loaded, changes the calculation a lot. Yes. It just does. It just does. And nukes are carrying on your hip for the purposes of a fist. You know, if somebody wanted to start a fistfight with you, nukes are a game changer for nation states. And that is just a fact. That is a reality. And that's why Iran is like, all we have to do is get there. And then we get rich because of the oil. And then they can never get rid of us. So this is the game they're playing. It is existential for them, which is why I love Trump. And I give them a lot of credit for having the balls to do something about Iran. However, they're going to work with this. No, they are not. They're not. They're just not going to do it. I don't mean to be Mr. Pooh-pooing the plan here, but the Iranians who are in charge right now, you've got to get a whole different crew in charge or else it's going to be blah, blah, blah, squawking and talking about some deal that's never going to lead to anything really other than more talking while the Iranians try to sneak around and do this. This is just the deal. And here's the other part of this deal historically. If we hadn't blown it in Iraq and Afghanistan, I think there would be a lot more appetite to potentially be involved in trying to take out the IRGC in a more aggressive fashion. But I think in the back of Trump's mind, as someone who lived through what Iran did when they took over the embassy and made Jimmy Carter look completely impotent and got Carter beaten in 1980, among many other things, look, they know, Trump knows. That if he puts boots on the ground, that they have a decent chance to get hostages. And that is going to make Trump look weak. We're incredibly fortunate that we got the guys who were on the ground out. But the reality is that remains a real threat here. So we've got to negotiate in some way. What does that result look like that can be positive to me? Straight open, nuclear dust seized by us. And maybe Trump holds it out over the Truman balcony like Simba from the Lion King. That would be spiking the football a little bit. But it would be a very tangible resolution in a positive way.

Yeah, he just directly addressed the question about Obama's nuclear deal. The one that he's working right now, he says, is far better. They actually gave tons of billions of dollars, as I said, flown to Iran, emptied out the cash. These bankers said they've never seen it. In addition, hundreds of billions of dollars paid to Iran. If I did not terminate the deal, nuclear weapons would have been used on Israel all over the Middle East. And so if a deal happens under Trump, it will guarantee peace, security and safety, not only for Israel and the Middle East, but for Europe, at America, everywhere else. But I thought that was interesting, President Trump, with a post directly responding to what the caller just said, oh, Obama had a great deal. Okay, Buck, the next guest we are bringing on David Rutherford, Clay and Buck podcast, and he is talking about this. Ibegain. Yeah, he knows Rutz, former Navy SEAL. combat saw it in it the whole thing what you think of with navy seals rut was one of those guys and uh he knows about ibegain and the uses of these things from some of his brothers in arms uh this is what trump said about ibegain over the weekend was a friday uh whatever he said it recently this is cut five play it i'm pleased to announce historic reforms to dramatically accelerate access to new medical research and treatments based on Psychedelic drugs. In many cases, these experimental treatments have shown life-changing potential for those suffering from severe mental illness and depression, including our cherished veterans. Our veterans having a tremendous hard time. You know, the suicide rate, we have it down a little bit, but they are having a hard time. And I got a call from a number of people, including the great Joe Rogan. And he said, we have to do something about this. And I looked into it. I called Bobby. I called Oz. I called Marty and Jay. And it was really, it was uniform support. Clay, we'll dive into this, but for a lot of the veterans out there who have been struggling with PTSD and some who have managed to tackle this with the help of the head to leave the country, they go to Mexico, we're going to dive into this. This is a big thing, and Rut will take us through some of the details of it, his thoughts on it, and helping our veterans, a sacred obligation that we have. Amen. We also still have loaded lines. I love bucks. Ten seconds. Get to your thesis. We'll take some of your calls third hour as well. Keep hanging with us.
