Texas AG Paxton Faces Legal Nightmare After His Own Law Backfires

In the latest installation of the games that Republicans like to play, such as rules for thee, but not for me, check out this headline from the Texas Trib. Ken Paxton vowed to crack down on illegal voting. He may have violated Texas election law. Turns out, the Attorney General of Texas, Ken Paxton, who's running, running to be the next United States senator from that state. Turns out it looks like he's been using an address where he hasn't been living and that he's used that address to vote in at least six elections in the past two years. And that flies in the face of him threatening to prosecute voters. that have, quote, misrepresented their residents on election records. The hypocrisy never ends when it comes to these MAGA Republicans. So check this out. Texas AG Ken Paxton created a tip line for the public to report People or groups suspected of voter fraud. In other words, he created a let's nark on your neighbors tip line. Let's check it out here. The public can report suspected violations of Texas election law. And according to this release, this news kind of release from the AG, Ken Paxton will thoroughly investigate any suspected voter fraud and protect the integrity of our elections. Quote, I invite all Texans to report suspected violations at our tip line. And it gives this email address. Your liberties and your representation and our government depend on secure elections. I will continue to protect the integrity of your vote and your voice. That doesn't turn out to be true. Is it because this is what we're learning from the Texas Tribune? Turns out Ken Paxton hasn't been living at the address that he's been using while he's been voting in at least six elections in the past two years, including the latest one just a few months ago in May of 2026 when he pretty much got a bet, voted for himself in order to advance to be the Republican nominee to beat out other primary Republicans, right? to end up trying to run to be the U.S. Senator against the amazing James Talarico. So this was a joint reporting effort by two incredible, incredible outlets, the Texas Tribune, which you know I love, and one of my other favorites, ProPublica. ProPublica and the Texas Tribb looked at records. And one of the primary records they looked at is the divorce court proceeding records. You know, His wife, State Senator Angela Ken Paxton, remembers she posted this on X when she announced she had filed for divorce from good old Ken. Back on July 10th of 2025, today after 38 years of marriage, I filed for divorce on biblical grounds.

I believe marriage is a sacred covenant, and I have earnestly pursued reconciliation. But in light of recent discoveries, I do not believe that it honors God or is loving to myself, my children, or can, to remain in the marriage. And it goes on citing a whole lot of religious stuff. But the reason why I talk about this is, if you go to the divorce petition that was filed by Angela Ken Paxton, I want to have you check out something here. So Angela Ken Paxton's original petition for divorce that she filed on July 10th of 2025 alleges that if you look at grounds for divorce on page 2, Section 8, Now, the marriage is insupportable because of discord or conflict of personalities. And then look at the next line. Respondent has committed adultery. Okay, nothing new in terms of breaking news here. But when it came to the following, when it came to actual property, this is where it becomes relevant for this analysis of whether or not Ken Paxton, hypocrite extraordinaire, has actually been violating the election laws that he threatens to prosecute other people for. So it's here. Look at number 12. Angela Ken Paxton requested the court award her exclusive use in possession of the residence located at, fill in the blank, which was the marital residence, the one that she was, well, at the time of the divorce that she filed, she was not sharing with Ken, and we'll get into that in a second, as well as all the furniture, furnishings, and everything inside of it, while this case is pending to enjoin. Ken Paxton, meaning block Ken from being able to enter or remain on the premises of this residence or to exercise possession of control of any of the property. And here's the thing. He had not been residing in that residence since 2024. So Angela Files for Divorce July 2025 alleges that Ken had not been living in that property since 2024. And yet, how is it possible that Ken Paxton has been using that marital residence address as a basis to be able to vote in at least six elections, including the last one in May? That seems problematic, does it not? I would agree with you that it does. It's not clear, according to the Texas Trib, where Ken Paxton has been living for the past two years, but the Texas Trib in ProPublica linked him to a home in a neighboring county called Denton County since at least February. And here's the thing. It's not the me think thou don't protest too much, Katie. Both publications reached out to Ken Paxton's campaign asking why did he remain registered to vote in Collin County when he didn't live there anymore and it looks like he maybe lives in Denton County. These news organizations also sent inquiry to his government office as well as the campaign staff didn't get a response until.

Until just a couple of days ago. And what did Ken Paxton's team said? Well, they said that Attorney Ken Paxton is a national leader on election integrity with a long record of defending Texas elections and that any attempt to insinuate otherwise or tear him down would be baseless, lie-filled tabloid story and it's not real reporting. Okay. But then they asked his team twice, we'll tell us what's inaccurate in the campaign. Never responded. So in Texas, if you vote in an election when you're ineligible, it's a second degree felony under Texas law, punishable by up to 20 years in prison, and a fine of up to $10,000. And let's look at the actual law itself. Because Ken Paxton, you know, so helpfully linked in that original Reese I told you about, you know, we created the NARC line, that NARC tip email line. Well, he linked it to an explainer about the laws. Like, how are... violating laws if you're if you're Texas voter and check this out it is illegal to misrepresent your residents on election records or to establish a residence for the purpose of influencing the outcome of an election you must provide the address where you reside when you register to vote You must register to vote using the address where you reside. It is illegal to submit a false statement of residence on an election record, such as an application for voter registration, application for ballot by mail, or poll check-in forms. Gosh, makes you wonder, what has Ken Paxton been doing in order to vote? I mean, gosh, Angela, maybe you did them in. Inevertently? Intentionally? I don't know. It kind of reminds me of that Game of Thrones episode where, oh my gosh, now I'm going to brain fart on her name, but she was like, I want Circe to know it was me. Maybe there was some Angela Ken Paxton kind of, you know, stuff going on here. But look, all kidding aside. This type of hypocrisy cannot stand, right? If Ken Paxton has been violating the very election laws in the state of Texas where he's currently the Attorney General and the state for which he wants to be the United States Senator, then guess what? If you've done something illegally, you should be prosecuted for it and you should be held to account. Now, the Texas Tribune article makes it clear the following. There is some opportunity for somebody who maybe has... not been living at that address for a little bit of time. For example, maybe you're in the military or maybe you're a college student.

you know, maybe that could be the situation here. But something like this, if you don't have an intention to return to the residence, which it sounds like to me, Angela was never going to let that shit happen, and he hadn't been living there since 2024, and he's not even living there now. So I'm not quite sure if Paxson could credibly argue in his defense that he ever intended on returning to the marital residence, which is the address that is the basis for his voter registration. Kind of sounds to me there's a lot of red flags going on here. The campaign, like I said, called this reporting a partisan hit piece. I don't think so. I think it's actually investigative reporting, and that's what it stands for, right? Okay. So what does that mean? Well, while there are grave concerns about whether or not Ken Paxton has violated election laws in the very state that he's running to be the U.S. Senator, what's he doing instead? Gallivanting. You got to love that action verb. He's gallivanting with his mistress in London, getting caught on video, no less. Take a look.

So yeah, that's Ken Paxton and the lady in green ain't his wife, Angela. And you may ask yourself, well, what's going on with this divorce then? Because it was a pretty ugly, pretty heated divorce. And they originally attempted to keep the record sealed about this divorce. But then that got unsealed so everybody could see all up in their business, what the hell is going on. Here's the thing. Hmm. Just like manna from heaven for Ken Paxton. His wife Angela and him have been making such amazing progress according to their camps that they've decided to, you know, expedite working things out conveniently while Ken is running to be United States Senator. You know, you got to give these people credit for being unbelievably machiavellian, huh? The ends justifies the means. Angela must see something. Or maybe there's been something promised to her by Ken that makes her swallow this bitter pill. Either way, again, an investigation must ensue. I'm just here to let you know what the latest is.
