229 segmentsWelcome to Win Tucson on this Tuesday. There is a lot going on. And I am so blessed by knowing so many people over this movement. And a lot of talk about so many different topics that Charlie Kirk... talked about, worked on, and as a result, so many people have been brought together. I think that'll be another legacy that we haven't talked about, about all the connections that occurred because Turning Point was doing their work. One of the people that I've had the privilege to meet is a wonderful woman, Sharona Bishop, aka America's mom. She's a constitutional conservative who stepped into the freedom ring in 2017. to protect her children from harmful government policies. This is something that is a theme in the show. We talk about it. She is tenacious, and she has been defending core values and the founding principles, and we talk about those founding principles, which promote the greatest freedom possible. She's tireless. She researches issues for our culture and our Constitution, and she is one of the most passionate women I know. So, Sharona, welcome to Win Tucson, and thank you so much for being here. Oh, Kathleen, thank you so much for having me on today because I think in the wake of Charlie's assassination and the realization that we have an ideology that is seeking to destroy this country, I am just honored that you would let me share the stories of real life people who are being impacted directly by that ideology rather. And so thank you so much. Thank you for having me and for just your generosity to the public. and putting yourself out there. You know, topics we're not allowed to talk about, Kathleen. Well, and you know what? I think there's no topic that we can't talk about. I think it's so important that we expose and put light on things that are just... Not. I'd say not. Things that the people need to have education and awareness as opposed to emotionalism. Obviously, emotions are still high. But I think there's like, in the back of my head, what would Charlie do? And Charlie would not have... If given, if we could go back in time, Charlie would actually sat down and talked to a shooter. I know that sounds extreme, but he would have. He would have said, what do you think? And, you know, he would have listened that, and he was always promoting dialogue. He loved hearing what people had to say. And he may not agree with you at the end of it. He wasn't looking to get ahead of you or to change your ideals. He was someone who...
clearly led with his heart and his intelligence. And we need people to do independent thought. And that independent thought is what I think is at the heart of the issues that you and I are going to talk about today is that people don't want to allow for independent thought. They want to indoctrinate. They want to move people towards a particular... way of thinking and point of view. And at the heart of this, the thing that you and I are going to talk about today is the exploitation of our children and the mutilation of our children. So why don't we start there? And we'll have a break in about five minutes and then we'll come back. But I'm going to keep you for the hour and we're just going to cover so much this going on. So go ahead and get started. Absolutely. So trans indoctrination is so prolific across the country in spite of President Trump's best efforts. I want to just say, you know, he came into office and immediately started undoing all of this indoctrination ideology, the funding of these organizations across the country, including schools that really had just become indoctrination sites for trans ideology. Not even we were outside so far beyond gay straight alliance. It's so beyond that. It has been trans indoctrination. And obviously the outcome of that has been, and nobody can deny it. unspeakable violence. You've got children who are being told they're in the wrong body, paid for by U.S. taxpayers, which President Trump is putting it into, but nonetheless, we are still riding that wave right now. And then these children are not only put on opposite hormones to their natural bodies. They're also put on SSRIs. We haven't had one school shooter in the last four years who has not been on SSRIs. and some sort of hormone therapy because they've been indoctrinated into this gender ideology. Sharona? Pervasive. Yeah. Explain SSRIs to those that don't know. Absolutely. So Adderall, things that are antidepressants is largely what it's for. It's mood stabilizers. You've got children that are going through real situations. And the solution isn't, you know, seek therapy, general therapy, or see a counselor or go to your priest. The solution has now become, you're in the wrong body. You're queer. And we start with queer, right? We start with new language right now is belonging. You want to belong to something. We're to provide you a belonging. And then also... culture is a new word that the trans ideology movement is trying to adopt and steal for their own. But you have kids who just aren't fitting. They're round pegs in a square hole, and they're trying to fit in, and they can't. And so they're very skilled, they're very talented in what they do. They're basically talent scouts seeking what kids they think will grab onto this ideology the fastest. And they really do go through searching for these kids in our schools.
And so SSRIs and the trans shooters, this has been, it's not been held from the public, but we're still having a hard time with our elected officials, with doctors, with psychiatrists, not making the connection that you're promoting gender ideology, you're flooding a girl's body with massive doses of testosterone, which in and of itself creates a very raging young woman. I just want to point that out. And then you're adding mind-altering antidepressant medications. So it has been a cocktail of misery, destruction and death across this country, and it is continuing. I have a special focus today for us and what we're talking about on real-life families who are experiencing this in the state of Colorado. Before I get there, though, I do want to point out President Trump has been so active. in trying to restore sanity and the innocence to our children. You know, I spent 17 years volunteering at youth detention facilities. I did foster care. I did the CASA training. I was thoroughly versed in how the system works. There is a standard. There's a protocol. There's a due process when we are dealing with children and removing them from their families. Now, what the Biden administration said would not be happening as indiscriminate removal of children absolutely is happening. And what we've seen them do, they've bypassed every standard protocol. I mean, first of all, you have CPS, then you have law enforcement, then you have investigations, then you have mediation, then you have... intervention by the courts initiating meetings and therapy and all of these things. The primary factor to remove a child from a family has always been imminent death. If we leave this child there, they're going to die. But what we're seeing with the trans ideology, especially in the blue states across this country, which they're doubling down. They're not going to surrender to President Trump's executive orders, even the withdrawal of federal funding, because they have billionaires who are swooping in to fund their 527 after-school programs with unbelievable boldness and tenacity. And we'll talk about that as well, just to put this out. There's a little tickler. Just think. Yeah, you laid out the table perfectly, and we're going to take a quick break and come back. So we are talking to Sharona Bishop. She is an advocate. She is fighting for families. that are losing their children to CPS, to DCS, depending on where you are in what state. She's working in Colorado. And these stories are real. They're happening right now. And if you think because we change the president, it's stopping. It isn't. And they're going to double down. So you are listening to Win Tucson on 1030 The Voice. You're trusted local news and talk. I'm Kathleen Wynne, and we'll be back with Sharona Bishop right after this quick break. Stay with us. Welcome back to Win Tucson. And we are talking about those that are grooming, stealing, and destroying families in the next generation. It is a concerted effort. It is being funded, I believe, by pharmaceutical companies and others who have...
decided that our children are free game and they are doing everything they can to get in the way of parents parenting but also doing it to destroy the innocence of our children. We are talking to Sharona Bishop, who is an advocate, who is fighting for parents. Sharona, during the same time, you've been doing what you've been doing. I've been fighting against sexual exploitation and trafficking, which occasionally would cross into those lanes because kids that are... gay, lesbian, and that's a different, it's actually a different lane. And there are many gays against groomers. But this transgenderism is like the next step. And it's to normalize pedophilia. That's what we've learned. But it is sick and it's evil and it's insidious and it's mental illness. So go ahead and tell us because you've been doing heroes' work. So I want to say to your audience, too, because I want this to be an empowering conversation, and I want them to know there is a solution that we are working on right now. And the DOJ is expressing interest in actually prosecuting these groomers and these organizations that are doing this across the country. The president issued, absolutely, he issued the ending radical indoctrination in K-12 schools. And that means that in order for your child to be receiving trans ideology, they need to opt in. The parent needs to say, yes. I want my child knowing everything there is to know about trans ideology, indoctrination, whatever. However you want to say, gender ideology, yes, we're opting in. So we have, and I'm working in partnership with moms for America. I do their strategic alliances. And right now, I want to put this number out there. This is a support line for parents all across the country. As you listen to these stories and you start hearing a description of your child and you've wondered what's going on with my kid. This might just hit you, and this is going to be a place where you can come for support, or you may have to be coming here to actually make a statement and have your story taken to the DOJ immediately. But that is 1833-4-2 Protect Kid. And it's just Kid, K-I-D. And the reason why is because just as the trans... movement has done to us where they've said, would you rather have a dead daughter or a living son? Right. It's for that one child. We're doing this all for that one child that might potentially commit suicide if you do not affirm them while we're doing it for that one child who is being groomed and is being told that God did not make them right, did not put them in the right body, and the only solution is to mutilate themselves. Please write that down and just know this tool is going to be available and it is available across the entire country. And we are helping parents just this morning. We are putting together the white papers and all the information with parents who have already had their children taken from them without CPS involvement, without law enforcement involvement, with zero complaints against the parents to any type of law enforcement for neglect or abuse. The only thing they did wrong.
Kathleen, the only thing they didn't do was affirm that child's new decision to be the opposite gender. So I want to share with you just an absolutely devastating story. These are people I know. This is coming from Rifle, Colorado. You might remember. Congresswoman Lauren Boebert came out of Rifle, Colorado. I worked in and lived in Garfield County, lived in Rifle, in Silk, Colorado, and have done a ton of work through that area. And Colorado is taken over right now by a very progressive leftist, globalist named Jared Polis. He's the first openly homosexual governor. That wouldn't be too much of a problem if he truly had been a business-minded, you know, libertarian, as he told everybody. But what he's done instead is go after. every bit of our parental rights. He has passed every horrifying bill in the country that anyone's ever seen, the worst bills you've ever seen to denigrate parents, family, and to be able to remove children from their families simply because you wouldn't affirm. These bills are making their way across the country, and I want everybody to be alerted. This particular one that has allowed for a perfect stranger, anybody, not somebody was trained like I was, not somebody who's gone through the foster care system and done foster care or CASA or any of that. Anybody can come and issue an emergency guardianship request to a judge for someone else's child because that child has told you their parents will not affirm them. And I know it's happening. It just happened to Heather and Brent Fitzky out of Rifle, Colorado. They are incredible loving parents. I know them. They have six children, and one of them has been co-opted into this group, this trans cult that was invited onto the school campuses is called P-Flag or GSA Gay Straight Alliance. P-Flag is parents and families of lesbians and gays. That's a national organization. So write that down, guys. That organization has become completely overcome by the trans movement. And they are welcomed into your schools. They are funded by your state budget. and they are doing after-school programs with your children. They spent two years grooming this young lady. The parents really didn't know. They just thought it was normal teenage angst. The child had become more and more hyperbolic. But eventually, just a couple of short weeks ago, a perfect stranger, a trans activist was able to petition the judge, a lesbian activist, by the way, who was appointed to our small rural community by Governor Jared Polis. to enforce what's called House Bill 1312, the non-legal name change bill. And what that means is if you are a parent who will not affirm your child, the court can take your child and put them with someone who will affirm. Not only did they take the child from... So I want to stop right there, Sharon up. So what you're saying, because you've got all this information and you're so good at this, but people are hearing this for the first time. You are raising a child. There's, you've done nothing wrong except maybe disagree with your child, which never happens to a teenage child and their parents. That would be unique, right? I'm kidding. Yeah. But what you're saying is that this child was living with their parents, they allowed a stranger, complete stranger, to, and how old is she? 16, 17?
The child is 17, and this is actually where it's really interesting because the precedent is being set here. But please go on and I'll point it out later. So you've got parents with a 17-year-old girl. who now the court somehow, although the parents have done nothing wrong, have been able to intervene and remove this child from her parents' care, and then because they're willing to affirm her wanting to transition. Now, think about how terrifying that is. I want people to understand the significance of this, knowing everything that we're starting to see with the mental illness, the violence, the just incredible experiment that is being done on our children. Go ahead. Please continue. Oh, and it is. It's an experiment, and we believe that this is precedent setting. It makes no sense because actually in this particular case, and most of the cases that we're hearing in Colorado where the children have been removed, they are 17 on the verge of turning 18. So, you know, you wait a couple months and the child's 18 and they can do legally whatever they want to do, but yet they're trying to set a precedent here. And what we are hoping is that there are many parents who've just felt they're just completely overwhelmed. and they have not had anybody to turn to you that will start reporting their stories that this is happening to younger and younger children. I believe we're going to see it. We know the foster care system and CPS has been taking children also. We have a law in the state of Colorado. You cannot be a foster parent, if you will not affirm. So obviously that has negated all of our Christian families that have been the primary people who are fostering kids in the state of Colorado. So another just a horrendous part of the story with the Fidskies. So their daughter's been taken from them. No CPS intervention ever, no law enforcement intervention, no complaints ever of violence, neglect, abuse. This is a wonderful family, okay? We now know just two weeks after taking this young lady, she has been given a prescription for SSRIs and testosterone. So, I mean, this is the fullness. This is the circle of completion for this trans cult. They are, they have grooming your child, then they separate your child from you, the parent, and then they literally seek to dissolve that relationship by the court. They actually also have moved ahead and put a restraining order against the parents, not allowing them to talk about the case publicly. Okay, because they came on my show. We did a, it was very effective. It was very powerful. And the parents told their story. It's their story. It's happening to them. They told their story and they were slapped with a restraining order immediately. I also was served with two restraining orders.
trying to keep me from talking about this story to the public. That's crazy. It's so shocking. Yeah, it's insane. We still have the right to speak about, I mean, these are public hearings, by the way. They were all done in public. The child actually spoke publicly. The judge demanded that she speak and give her testimony publicly. And yet now that we're telling the story. of what they've done, of what they've colluded to do together, we're being slapped with protective orders, to shut us down. Literally, it says, not to speak about this case pertaining to this person. So what is her name? Can we say her name? Absolutely. Which person? The judge? You could say the judge. Can you not say, is the girl still a minor? The child is still a minor, so I'll refrain from that. They are trying to use, you know, a different name and call him a male name. The parents are Heather and Brent Fiske, and an article is finally coming out today. They were a little timid. You know, it's very scary. I mean, you have to imagine. Like, how can they... Their child's been kidnapped, basically. Their child's been kidnapped. You know, and... And I find missing children. So, like, this is like my lane, but not my lane, because this is a whole new... whole new spin on this so we know who the kidnappers are and they're drugging their daughter and they're drugging their daughter to to carry out an ideology because this is the hill that they want to die on which is the is the transitioning of our children from boy to girl or girl to boy And this is evil. And these parents, these parents have poured themselves, I guarantee you into this daughter. And they love this daughter. And that some court could second guess that when there's no, this transition thing, this transgender thing is not normal. It is a psycho. And when you look at the poisoning. the drugs, the drugs that they're pouring into this young lady will do our lifelong. So once they do this, she can't not take them. And they are doing irreparable harm. And any reasonable parent would stand up and say no. Sharona, we've got to take a break. It's a hard news break at the bottom of the hour. So don't go anywhere. We are talking to Sharona Bishop about this family in Colorado, but they're not just one family. There are families all over this country. They are coming for your kids. I don't want to be dramatic. It's just what's happening. So this is Wynne Tucson. I'm Kathleen Wynne on 1030 The Voice. a boostos media station stay here uh you're not going to get this anywhere else and you need to know this is the war that we're going to have and we have to fight back we'll be right back welcome back to win tusson with my very special guest shirona bishop um shirona so uh right now the parents are not allowed to see their daughter the court has
have they removed their daughters, the daughter's been removed from their home, a restraining order placed against them, and a gag order. They're not allowed to talk about this case. Yes, that's right. So, so. Do they have an attorney? And to me, legally, it seems to me that their rights have been stripped illegally. It's against everything I know that should happen. So what is their recourse right now? And what are they doing? There are several actions that we're taking, and I think that people need to really feel empowered on a personal level. We all think we need to have high-powered lawyers in order to fight back, in order to put these people on their heels and take back our kids. But actually, I think it's pretty incredible. They self-represented right out the gate regarding the restraining orders. And their initial attorney that they had hired, these people, they're scared. Colorado attorneys are very scared. California attorneys are scared. We did that in Arizona, too. Yeah, the bar here. Exactly. You are penalized. You're punished. You know, there's always the next case. They're worried about what will happen with pending cases if they represent a family that's associated with this trans cult stuff. And so it's a real thing. I mean, you know, we've talked about elections a lot and we have that happen with that with that. category also. So they self-represented in there. They're doing really well. The Heritage Foundation has now gotten involved. Multiple law firms across the country who represent families who are going through this are getting involved. I want to give a huge shout out to Aaron Lee of Colorado. They went through this horrendous nightmare with their own 12-year-old daughter. And after-school art club was actually a grooming center for trans ideology. And in three hours, I want people to understand this in less than three hours. They convinced these four young beautiful girls that they were in the wrong body, that they were queer, that their parents couldn't be trusted, that these adults who were doing the art club were the only ones they could trust. They introduced them to a private chat, a special app that the parents couldn't identify on their phones, all of this disgusting, deceitful behavior in order to get a grip on these girls, on these kids. And Aaron Lee fought back. Her case is actually before the Supreme Court right now. We are very hopeful that the court's going to hear it and start abolishing these laws in Colorado that are allowing for these groomers. You know, this non-legal name change bill, by the way, and pedophiles in general in the state of Colorado, when they go and change their name legally, right, a male to a female name, you cannot do a background check on their dead name. Did you know that? You're not allowed. to do, it is against the law for an employer, even a school, to do a background check on the person's previous dead name. Do you know how this has opened up the doors for pedophiles to come into our state of Colorado and have access to your children? That is exactly what's been going on. And I, you know, we're always.
We're always chided for being extremists in the most extreme understanding of the bills that these Marxists are putting forward in Colorado. And yet here we are. Here we are. We have a parent whose child has been taken from them. They've been slapped with a gag order effectively. They're not allowed to talk about this. And so who can come to their aid? We are going to continue to do that. I do want to say one more part of this story that I want people to be watching out for. It's so disgusting. It's so abhorrent. that I don't think people will believe this part either. This organization, P. Flag, and the founder of that organization in Colorado on the Western Slope is Mr. Ashley Stahl. This is a trans woman. He is a man pretending to be a woman. He is the one that has orchestrated all of these groups inside, basically on the Western Slope of Colorado. And he partnered with an organization that was doing kind of fun programs for the mentally handicapped and down syndrome, adults and children in the valley. And they made it, they decided to call it the Cook Inclusive, the queer rising of handicapped and down syndrome children. And that's exactly what they've done. They spent the last two years, quote, queer rising, handicapped children. and down syndrome people, excuse me, adults and children actually, and convincing them they're queer or trans. We've had a report of 133-year-old man who basically was at a 10-year-old level, who committed suicide this past year because he couldn't understand how he could be a man but be a girl also. And this is the kind of stuff they've been doing. Well, we got word yesterday, but Cook Inclusive very suddenly, very suddenly. closed their doors yesterday in outside of Aspen, Colorado, by the way. I guess you don't have to figure out too far where the money's coming to fund these kind of programs. It closed suddenly. And that person, Mr. Stahl, is the one who is one of those who put a restraining order against myself and against the Fidskies. We've also discovered that Mr. Stahl and the initial person who requested the guardianship order, okay? This is crazy. That person's name is Aaron Anderson. Aaron Anderson and Mr. Stahl actually live in the same home. And they are housing the Fitsky's daughter. That was never disclosed to us, okay? But it's the same exact story coming out of Durango, Colorado. Durango, Colorado, of course, is a place where Oprah loves to frequent and all of the Hollywood elite love to come to and pretend they live like Coloradoans. Well, same exact story, Cindy Stein, mother of a 17-year-old. slightly autistic child, gets groomed by the math teacher, husband of the math teacher is pretending a woman faces while, transgender male, pretending to be a woman, and they take this child. Law enforcement is called. They laugh at the mother, Cindy Stein, for trying to get her child back from these two maniacs. They laugh. It's all on video. It's all recorded. Her story is being sent into the DOJ as well.
These stories are happening all over the state of Colorado. These are the ones we're most intimately involved with right now, trying to get relief for them. But what I want people to understand, you asked, who are the law firms, who are the people getting behind them? That's all true. That needs to eventually happen. We need big class action lawsuits. We have received thousands of phone calls, by the way, to our 18334 to protect. kid number, which is very, very exciting because we've known this is going on. We've known that parents feel powerless. They feel like they need to go hire these big attorneys. And if they can't do that, how can they possibly fight back? Well, we've done a couple of things that have been very, very effective. Of course, get media on this. Tell your story and don't let them silence you. Don't let this mafia, this trans mafia, silence you. They think they have a stronger grip than they really do. But the first time their names get published, next to groomer, next to potential pedophile, next to trans mafia or trans cult, they panic. They don't know what to do because they thought they could do this in secret. Yeah, they're trying to do, that's the whole thing. If you have to do something with someone else's child in secret, you're in, that's not your right. That's not, you don't have a right to take someone's child and do this with them. You know, I... And you know it's nefarious. It is totally nefarious. You know, I had a girl that was abducted four and a half years later. She was taken when she was 14. We found her when she was 18, 18 and a half because we did. And she had been gone for four and a half years and they did everything to her. And she's never going to be the same. This is an irreversible... they didn't they didn't this she was not a transgender case she was a sexual exploitation case but the the premise is the same you don't have the right to put your hands to drug them to change who god made them to be because you think you're superior this is this is this is so evil this is so demonic this stealing someone's child for your ideology for your pedophilia for your um just fetish and a lot of these a lot of these are men pretending woman face, who are getting access to children, and that is what it is. And I won't rescind that. Thank you. These are men trying to get access to your children, and they're using your goodwill, they're using your virtue, they're using your goodness against you to get access to your children because you're not, you don't want to discriminate. You don't want to be the mean person against this person, but we've got to stop allowing this. These are mentally ill men by and large. who are leading these organizations, who are setting up bright rainbow decked out tables to attract your children. And then they have all the games. I mean, they call the one that's directed towards children, by the way, parents listen to this is the Skittles group. The Skittles is for the really young ones. That's like kindergarten through fifth grade. They call it Skittles. They've got rainbows everywhere. It's super fun. You know, you dress up. This is where they introduce drag. This is where they start introducing sexuality of children.
And I think the whole darn thing is pedophilic, obviously. But they're making it fun. It's sparkly and exciting. It's called grooming, and they're doing it on purpose, and they do it with your tax dollars, guys. That's the most significant thing for me is I'm not paying for the destruction of children. And when President Trump put out, it's called the Protecting Children from Chemical and Surgical Mutilation Bill. One of the things that struck me on that bill was when he mentions them here, and we know this, and you just said it too, countless children soon regret. that they have been mutilated, and they begin to grasp the horrifying tragedy that they will never be able to conceive. They'll never have children of their own, nurture children through breastfeeding, through their own womb. These are the most vulnerable youth. And here's the thing about this, too, for those who are doubting, well, you know, we're just living in a new time and these kids just have different problems. My husband and I, my husband was the chaplain for this youth correction facility for 17 years. We ministered with kids and mentored kids in our home. at the facility, at church, everywhere. Over the course of 20 years, we never had one child ever say they were trans, not one. No, no, it's not. In this perception that this is somehow normal in the culture is, again, it is, it is, it is a mental, it's beyond mental illness. It's a perversion, and it is disgusting. We're going to take a break. We are talking to Toronto Bishop. She is out there informing you. Parents pay attention. We're going to fix this. We're going to fix this in our schools here in Arizona. We're going to fix this across this nation. We have to protect this next generation. Charlie Kirk died trying to do that. You are listening to Win Tucson on 1030 the voice. We'll be back right after this.
Welcome back to Win Tucson and my dear friend Sharona Bishop. And Sharon, I know I'm going to see you Sunday at the service for Charlie Kirk. So I'm really looking forward to seeing you, not to the occasion. But I think it's a testament to the incredible work that's been done. And let's be clear. Charlie Kirk was a Christian first. His family was second and politics was third, and that was the right order. He did not lead with his politics. He led with his love, he led with his love of God. And if the people that are doing this to our children lead with anything, they lead with their contempt for our families. They lead with their contempt for our religion and our faith. They don't like happy families. And they are doing everything they can to attack. And shockingly here in Tucson, our vice mayor came out. Now she's retracted because she got so much pushback. And I want to underline that for people because she did retract. And Sharona, you said that in the last segment. They are paper tigers. They only want to, they want whatever evil, satanic, perverted thing that they want. But having to defend it in the light of day, they can't because it is wrong. It violates everything that if you love your child and you want to protect them and you want to protect their innocence as long as you can. Over the weekend, I got to see 16 of my 19 grandkids in different cities. It was a crazy weekend, but I have to say these, and they grow up so much in the months that you don't see them, I would go to war over fighting. from my kids, my grandkids. Because they, their parents, my children, have done such an incredible job of protecting them from outside influences, from not giving them screen time, from, you know, don't succumb to the, oh, trying to fit in culture. know as a parent that you've got what it takes and that your love of your child is the most important thing not something a math teacher or a coach or some after school program is trying to pour into your child no you direct where your kids going and if your child is in an environment where they're taking control get your child out of there Do it before you, we have to be aware. It's informing people. So what I love about what you're doing is, number one, you're informing people. Number two, you're giving, you're in empowering the parents to fight back. And we need to do that in a responsible, not burn it down, tried away. But that's, we've got to do it with intelligence. And I say if we do it that way.
and with the law at our back and with the effectiveness. And this president stands with us. He understands how insidious this is and how much this is in the culture. This is a cancer and we have to eradicate it. So start with sharing the number again because I think people need to hear it. And then we've got 10 minutes and we'll finish up, hon. Absolutely. If you believe, if you are a parent or you are a student, you're a child, and you know that you are being spoken to incorrectly, you know that they are talking to you about topics they shouldn't be. If you feel that your child is changing very quickly beyond just normal teen angst, then we want you to call us 1833-42 Protect Kid. And you're going to have incredible support and we will help you to navigate what's going on. There's such a disconnect. I've been there. When comprehensive sex education was brought out, I knew it was going to be bad. I thought, you know, I am a very diligent parent. I am super engaged. I am that mother. I am that Karen. I'm sorry, but I am. And I see something and I'm like, absolutely not. And yet my own children, you know, we have had personal impact because of comprehensive sex education. And thank God he gets all the glory for healing and restoration. And yet even being a diligent parent like I was. I saw the writing on the wall and I didn't act fast enough and I didn't do the right thing at that moment. I chose convenience. And the reality was I should have pulled my child out of the school immediately. And, you know, my other children we did, and God made a way. He provided us what we needed. My kids have been advanced to be on other public schools. They've done phenomenal. They're just extraordinary kids. And so for people who think I don't have the time, I don't have the energy, you will find it. It's the greatest investment you will ever make is in these children. And I want to be really clear. When you are going through this, I want you to call us for certain, but on a personal level and within your community of moms, within your little network at school where you're all talking about this stuff, what you can do if this is happening and you have organizations. in your school that you know are grooming your children, I would file a restraining order immediately against the organization itself, as well as the person who is leading the organization. We now know, we have plenty of data to support it, that it is children who are being groomed, who are being put on medication and testosterone or estrogen, whichever way it is, they're putting on hormone therapy, okay? We know that that is a cocktail for violence. We have no doubt anymore. And we have all of the evidence that we need in order to file restraining orders against these organizations in our schools, and it needs to start now. We need parents coming together in groups of 10, 12, 24, keep it coming at the same school, filing protective orders against these organizations and these people. It needs to happen now. That will keep them 100 yards away from your children and out of your schools. They've done that to us. We are going to do that with them because we now know for sure that what they're doing is going to create a monster. It has the potential to create tremendous violence and literally end with your child truly actually dying. I mean, we just saw it in Evergreen, Colorado this past week. We had a young boy who brought a handgun to school. He'd become extremely radicalized by the transgender movement online and came to school and decided he was going to defend transgenders and attempted to kill four other students.
He ended up only killing himself. That was at Evergreen High School, Colorado this past week. So we know that this is the outcome of this behavior, and we want it far away from our children. And then finally, the law. President Trump has set the path. It is very clear. We have ending radical indoctrination in K-12 schools. You're going to go to the dot-gov site. You're going to pull up that executive order. You're going to print it off. You're going to put your school board on notice. See, what we're doing right now also is we have direct access to defund every county, every state that is not in compliance with President Trump's executive order. He is here for America First. He is here to leave a legacy, to have children who will love this country, who will be strong patriots for the future to defend freedom. If we don't grow them now, if we don't support our families, our faith, our nation, we aren't going to have anything to preserve. And President Trump's not going to allow that to happen. He has given us the tools we need. They're only as good as we wield them, though. We have to wield these tools that he's providing for us. So we print that off. We make sure our school board has put on notice. If you move forward with any more of trans indoctrination or organizations coming into our school, you will face the wrath of the federal government. Now, right now, I want to be clear the DOJ is seeking out and will be prosecuting these cases across the country. I read the letter this morning, and I am so happy to be a part of that in partnership with Moms for America, to be helping support these families to get the justice. They are due. Because, see, again, they played on your virtue. These, these people, these groomers, the ones who are running the trans cult, this trans mafia across the country in partnership with organizations and 527 organizations, George Soros organizations, that hate America. That's the whole goal. The whole goal is to destroy the innocence of our youth, so they turn into brown shirts for Marxists and they destroy America. I was going to say I talked to Kimberly this morning and Debbie's flying out for the funeral. So I exactly. You guys are my people, right? And we have to be the voice. And we have to be the educators. Because parents, you said it perfectly. You know, you get distracted or you are. life is happening and if you're raising kids and you have a lot of kids and you're getting them off to school and everything else, you're just trying to survive the day. The last thing you think about is someone who's trying to exploit that and get access to your kids. And so I think all the work that you're doing and the letter, who wrote the letter? Where'd the letter come from, Toronto? I haven't seen it. Yeah, the letter came from the DOJ. So I believe Moms for America will be putting that out shortly. They are asking for these stories across the country. And again, that number that we're providing is a place for you to come to to deliver your story there and things that need to be investigated, bad actors, whatever it is, we're going to get to the bottom of it because it is for one child. The United States of America is founded on the idea of the individual.
truly, on preserving and protecting the rights of the individual. How much more so are children? It's not right. 85% of the children in this country are going to public schools, and we're abandoning them in this culture crisis. And I think for us, of course, moms for America, you know, my own thing is, of course, I want, I would love people to be homeschooling as much as possible. It's not always a reality, and that's fine. And yet we can't abandon 85% of our child population simply because we don't agree with public school. We are here for the fight. It's not right that we should have to worry that pedophiliate groomers who are coming in with horrendous intentions are being allowed in, paid to come in, funded to come in, and then they turn around and kidnap our children. This isn't right. And we're not going to allow it anymore. And I'm so thankful that finally we have an administration that gets it that is going to apply the law. correctly, not for weaponization like the Biden administration did, but correctly for the preservation of faith, a family, and of God in this country. That's what we're here for. This is the moment, and this is the fight to have. You know, and I think, and obviously you and I, this will not be the last conversation we have, but I want to thank you. I want to thank you because you give parents hope. I want to thank you for being at the tip of the spear. Most importantly, I want to thank you for putting God first, for putting our families. and understanding how important it is that we just honor our God and honor our founders who had a great vision for this country and being independent is not doing whatever the latest, greatest cultural perversion is. And we have to be the line. We're not on our watch. And so, Sharana Bishop, thank you so very much for coming on today. And I will see you, my friend, on Sunday. And God bless you and travel safe. And we've got a lot of work to do. And I look forward to standing shoulder to shoulder with you to get it done. Thank you so much. And I think in the spirit of Charlie Kirk, you know, we have a duty. We have an obligation. The time is now. The time is right. I love the idea if there's any silver lining to this, that unless... a seed falls in the ground, right? We cannot have a harvest. So thank God for Charlie and thank God for you, Kathleen. Thank you, honey. All right. You are listening to 1030 The Voice. You're trusted local news and talk on the Spustos Media Station. I'm Kathleen Wynn, and this is Wynne Tucson. When we come back, General Stephen Munt, we're going to talk about the impact of Charlie Kirk. And where do we go from here? And what do we prioritize? Because we've got to have a plan and we've got to execute the plan.
We'll be back. Welcome back to Win Tucson. I just want to say, before we go into our next segment with my good friend Steve, that Sharona Bishop and I have met in the last few years. I met her actually at an event for Steve Bannon. She's a hard worker, but make no mistake. She needs everybody to... Get out, speak up if you believe your child or grandchild is being indoctrinated, is being groomed to have a... sex changer as being part of a club everything that we described the last hour please please please don't hesitate you'd rather be wrong and apologize than be right and have missed it and so um i'll just leave it there and we will get that number out again but this is so important that we protect our kids they're the next generation we don't protect and we don't have a next generation and on that happy note uh Retire General Stephen Month, thank you for calling in today and for co-hosting the second hour with me and we can talk about all the things. I love talking to you because you're on the East Coast and there's a different perspective there and you came up through the military structure and I think that perspective is so needed and so thank you. I appreciate you being here today. Well, you're quite welcome. I think probably most of the time people think about the East Coast, particularly if you're inside the Beltway. We almost call that an oxygen-free zone. Well, I mean, yeah, I hate to say, while you were having your first guest on, I was watching Kash Patel, justify in front of Congress. And it's just, if anybody looks at that. And thinks that that is a fair, impartial, open dialogue to garner information in the performance of their duties. I'd love, like Charlie, I'd love them to call me and explain to me how that is. I mean, even the chair had to say, I know that people ask for yes and no questions. You can't answer those with yes and no answers. So at the end of the question, I will allow you, if you'd like to, to explain more about what you meant. I mean, that's how far we've gone, that you can't have a dialogue back and forth about the performance of your duties. You know, so here's a thing. These people are elected to represent their constituencies. They're not there for their soundbite. They're not there for their moment of glory. But you wouldn't know that. This is all about political theater. It is so not about what they should be doing there. And this...
kind of rhetoric right now is so that they can prove to their base that they're still carrying the torch for the extreme policies that they believe in and i don't think it's a winning formula i almost part of me is like go ahead do that you're losing your audience this nonsense is in reruns and the ratings are clearly going down most people Don't think it was okay. Whether you like Charlie Kirk or didn't like Charlie Kirk or whatever it is. No one should think that assassinating a 31-year-old kid who was just in the prime of his life who had worked his heart out since the age of the shooter. And when Charlie Kirk was in his early 20s, the age of the shooter, he was starting to form. turning point look what he did with 10 years of his life i'm i'm angry that we won't get to see the next 10 years but but he built a platform he built a foundation and so i say we have to take it on and we have to do what he laid out he laid out a very clear plan charlie kirk was consistent he was intelligent and he never wavered from his belief in god his stand for the family and for supporting the documents um and the founding of this country he he he covered it all and he did it can he did he never wavered he was consistent um and in you and i had a conversation this morning steve about If he had sat down and had an opportunity to sit down with the guy that killed him, you know, what would that have been? Because if he had had that opportunity, it may not have prevented this. We can't go back. We can't change time. But I think Charlie would have dialogued with him. I do. Well, I mean, first of all, we know that Charlie would have dialogue with anybody. I mean, let's set the assassination of killer or whatever aside for a minute. The first thing you said, I think a lot of people are feeling, and that's anger. Okay. And there's nothing wrong with feeling anger. Now, look, your viewers know that I'm a soldier, okay? I'm a simple soldier. I'm not a clinical psychologist. But I will say, you know, it's not that we should not have anger and be upset. I mean, we've lost somebody that was dear to many of us. We've lost somebody that was a leader and a mentor to many. We lost somebody who was a father and a husband. We've lost somebody who's a Christian. There's all sorts of reasons to be angry. The question is, what do you do with that anger? Okay. And I'm going to go two different directions. I'm going to give you the first thing I try very hard to listen to this. And that was St. Teresa, Mother Teresa, okay? She didn't necessarily want to be working in India, feeding all the poor and everything. She came up and wanted to be a school teacher. But that was not her calling.
And the story that probably strikes me that I see so much of what Charlie did in her is she went into a bakery and was asking for bread that they were probably going to throw away anyway. And when she went into the bakery and she asked for that, the guy immediately began yelling and screaming at her. What a beggar, what a poor woman. Why is she darkening his door and spit on her? Okay. And Mother Teresa never lost her temper. She never changed her demeanor. She simply wiped the spittle from her face and looked at him and said, can the children have some bread? That guy became her biggest benefactor. So when I look at Charlie and I listen to Charlie, what you and I were talking about is if somebody had walked up to Charlie that day and said to him, I hate you, I think all these vile thoughts about you, I think you should be dead, I'd kill you if I could. Charlie wouldn't have gotten angry. That wouldn't have been the way he reacted. He would have turned to him and said, okay, I understand what you're thinking and feeling. Can you explain that to me? Why do you think I'm that way? Why do you feel these things? What do you expect to get out of my death? What will that do? Because he would have wanted to have the dialogue. And it was never his intent that he would change your opinion. It was his intent to have the dialogue. And if your opinion changed, and if you walked away better informed, so much better for it. But that was not, he was not arguing that you were wrong. He was letting you explain why you believe that you were right. Exactly. And it didn't mean that you had to change the way you thought, and it didn't mean that he had to change the way that he thought. But he said it, it's so great. He said that conversation, if you don't have conversation, if you don't have communication, because you can have a conversation and not have communication. If you don't have communication, that's when marriages go away. That's when things break down. He was always, always willing to dialogue. And when people are unwilling to hear what you have to say, when they're trying to shut down the message. And what I think I'm watching right now, every time they try to do that, it seems like this gets bigger. Every time they say, Shut up, conservative people. We've had enough about hearing about Charlie Kirk was this. It seems like another group pops up, and I think what Erika Kirk said was correct, that they have no idea. They have no idea what...
the life now of a martyr is going to mean and what's going to happen because I don't think we know we didn't know this was going to happen but I do believe that we are at a time you know and everyone said this a turning point but I think that the last word is action and what actions we take will define us and I and I want to do that so that we you know honor the greater good and in honor the vision of the founders and honor God's plan for us. So we have to take a break, Steve. Okay. All right. You are listening to 1030 The Voice. You're trusted local news and talk. We are talking about... Where do we go from here? And how do we deal with what's happened and how do we deal with it so it makes the greatest positive and good impact in our country? I'm talking to General retired Stephen Munt. And we'll be back right after this here on Wynne Tucson. I'm Kathleen Wynn. Welcome back to Win Tucson on 1030 The Voice. I'm talking to Steve Munt in the Beltway where there's no oxygen. So that's what you said. I'm just repeating what you said. Yeah, but it's cooler here than it is back there. This is true, but in January, I live in a better place. So there you go. And see we're communicating. We're dialoguing and one of us might be right. And it doesn't matter who at this point. Exactly. thousands of my... I mean, but I think what you close with is critical. It's about the dialogue, okay? And there is a fear, I think, for many people, at least a concern, that we have people on extreme trenches, both left and right, that they can react in ways that are counterproductive. Okay. You know, you're going to hear everybody say, oh, well, you know, Charlie should have been dead. Or he brought it on himself or he did this or he did that. That's inappropriate. It's wrong. There's no place for it. Thank you. None. Thank you. Okay. On the other side, you're going to hear people say it's all about what people say they should not be allowed to say this. We should shut them down. They should not be allowed to do that. They should not be allowed to do other things. That too is wrong because we do have freedom of speech. What we have to do is have accountability for that freedom. And too often, people are not held accountable. And I will start with members of Congress. They say things every day from a dais in Congress that they know are wrong, untrue, lies. distortions, distasteful, and it's permitted because they're speaking from the dais. Why? Well, there should be some, I don't know. I mean, why? I would not anymore. And I mean, the problem is, is what happens is people aren't held accountable. Nobody wants to have that debate. I understand what you've said. I kindly...
With all due respect, disagree with you. If you'd like to have a discussion, I'm open to that. But if this is going to be a yelling, screaming, whatever match, I'm done. And I'm not going to entertain that. It's not that I've shut down your right for free speech. But I'm not going to sit here and be yelled at and screamed at by somebody who doesn't want to listen. So I think a lot of what's going to happen and what I think we're going to see coming forward is people are going to have to go back and seriously look at our individual behavior. How do we react when things happen around us? And how, you know, I use this term almost synonymously because in many ways he was. How do we be more Christ-like? Why would we be more like Charlie in listening and respecting somebody else's opinion rather than saying, oh, that's the dumbest thing I ever heard? And I just want to stop you right there. So listening, because that's part of it. You actually have to listen, not listen in order to so you can say what you want to say, but truly listening to where that person is. And then, and. And respecting is interesting because you don't know, it's so important that we show respect whether we agree or disagree. It doesn't matter. If you can do that, then you're doing maybe what 5% or 10% of the people are doing. We've stopped doing that. um in culture and in everything else everything's so quick and uh we don't give do we don't give time we don't give energy we don't we don't take the time to truly listen to people and um and charlie did i i've watched it over and over and over again i i got to he did a thing here called patriot square was once a month and he'd bring in a speaker and he'd interview them And we had some, you know, Josh Holly, Senator Josh Holly came. We had all kinds of speakers over the years. He did it for four or five years. He did it at Dream City Church. It was so wonderful because it was not about, he had politicians, but he had other people. And it wasn't about politics. It was about their relationship through God. And he coached people. there like the kids would get up and they would ask questions and they would be so nervous but these kids you had 10 12 year old 13 year old kids coming to these sessions and and wanting to be there and the fact that they were there in church on a Wednesday night engaging with these adults was so inspiring especially for someone like me who wants to know that the next generation's going to be okay and I can't tell you that right now I can't tell you that they're going to be okay
based on those that are trying to do them harm. And it's hard to separate what the action is from the person and understand now we are here. You've dealt more with people dying in their mission field than I have. And so you've got a different understanding of it. It doesn't mean I don't understand it. It just, you have, you have more people that died probably under, in your lifetime than I have in mine, doing their job. And go ahead. Let me go back to your statement about kids, okay? I would submit to you. that when any one of your listeners, me included, or growing up, are parents worried about the future? They looked at that. They said, he's not studying the way he should or he's more interested in doing this or that or whatever. And, you know, it was different influences, different things. And we've talked about this on your show where somebody says, well, my kid's not bad. It's the people he hangs around with. No, your kid is bad. That's why they're hanging around with those people. Okay. So, so, you know, at some point, you've got to come to the truth of my child's behavior is not normal. It's out of dorm. It's not a growing spell or something else. I mean, when rock and roll hit the stage and people were dancing, parents were pulling out their hair, okay? Elvis Presley. And his shaking hips. Oh, yeah, that couldn't even be seen. You know, you had to go in the other room to watch that because the kids couldn't see that, you know. But it's kind of what I expect. The problem we have right now, and what Charlie was able to break is that the influencers And I believe this, from the dark side, the people that have no heart, the people that don't care, the people are more interested in making the next dollar, the next million, the next billion, the whatever, are allowing things to be put on their websites, on their social media, in their games that drive people in the wrong direction. I mean, I sat there the other day, and I was thinking about it since COVID. And people were forced into this isolation, started going more and more towards gaming. I may have used this statistic the other day. Prisoners in prison are mandated two hours of time outside. Outside so that they can get fresh air to do other things. You know what the average time an American child spends outside right now is? No, tell me. Less than an hour.
You and I left our houses and we go and play until the door, until the bell rang, until the whistle happened, until the streetlights came on. There was a way that we could do that. Yes. And we took our bikes and we went anywhere and we did anything. We brought our bikes everywhere. And you couldn't wait to get your driver's license. That's not true with kids today. Kids today are not nearly as excited about getting a driver's license. They will get one when it becomes a necessity, not because they're looking to get out because they get out on these electronic devices. So, you know, Charlie was able to reach them and say, where are you getting your information? How are you coming to your conclusions? What makes you think that what you've been told is right? If you Google something, You have no idea the number of hits from who is driving the answer. I mean, at least when we used to go back to the encyclopedia Britannica or the World Book or any of those. There was a non-biased kind of, and people will argue with this. They'll say, Steve, you don't understand history. The books were biased. You know, I hate to say this, but in every error of our human history. the winner, whether you want to call him a winner or not, but the person who came out on top writes history. Okay. So at some point, you have to add an element of truth to the history. And I think that's what most of us would be willing to do is have an element of truth, but it's how do we educate the kids. And if... Steve? Do you see it like I do? Yes, ma'am. You've got to go to break. I do. But hold that thought because how we educate the kids is so important and protecting them from those that want to harm them. You are listening to 1030 The Boister, trusted local news and talk. I'm Kathleen Wynn. This is Wynne Tucson. We're talking to my good friend, Stephen Munt, from the Beltway. Stay with us. We'll be back right after this. Welcome back to Win Tucson, and we are talking to Stephen Munt, retired general. And... somebody I reach out to when I just want to have a conversation about what's happening in the world because I think it's important that we talk about it not from a political lens but from a friend's lens from a freedom lens from a God lens so thanks for being that person that I can call I really appreciate it today
Kathleen, you and Al are very special to me. Yeah, he's a pretty good guy. We're going to keep him. I keep telling him, you know, we had a deal that he had to stay around until I was 90 and he's 102. He just kind of looks at me and laughs at me. But. It's okay. I found out that we were happily married because both you and Betsy told us we were. Exactly. Damn straight. As the way the good Lord intended. Exactly. And men are stubborn and they just don't get it, so we have to remind you constantly how good your lives are. Trust me on this. I could get a lot of women that would agree with me right now on so many different levels. But anyway. God bless America. Oh, by the way, I meant to say when I first came on, my thoughts and prayers were with Betsy and her husband. I know Betsy was supposed to be on, and she is a much better guest that I am, but she's where she needs to be. Yeah, thank you. And we are sharing that publicly until now, but okay. We'll deal with that later. Yeah. I'll deal with it because I spilled the beans. It's okay. Because she said Betsy loves me, so that's fine. She does. At least one Betsy loves me. Yeah, well, your wife, Betsy loves you, and then Betsy Smith also, I'm sure, she thinks you're great. Meanwhile, back here at the ranch. So we were talking about the kids. Yes. And, you know, it's how do you protect them? Look, you cannot put a bubble around kids. No, you can't. Okay. Although many people try. You know, and some recall, and people use terms in a very, a casual way that sometimes may send the wrong message, you know, so are you a helicopter parent? Does that mean that you hover over your child constantly? You know, I think my mom hovered over me, but I think she kind of... We have signs of that. We have some evidence of that. No, I'm just kidding. No, it's true. But that's okay. But if you say, you can't climb that tree because you may fall and break your arm. What you said is true. But I'm a young child and I want to climb the tree and I want to experience those things. And sometimes you experience things that teach you a lesson. The question is, how far do you let your child go before you intervene? And at what point do you have to intervene and stop it versus intervene and coach it? Like, do not put your hand on the stove. You're going to get burned. Exactly. I'm coaching. But if you're going to put your hand on the hot skillet, I'm interceding now. There's things that you can teach kids to protect themselves that way. But there's also something as a parent, and I'm sure I know your parents did it because I know your dad. You contribute. Yes, I do. He says, I love your dad. Your dad's great. He lives in Arizona. He's smart, right? He lives in Awatuki. And he's a young man. So I think that the thing that's the most important is freedom of thought, is teaching kids to think independently.
to not be, it's not that you can't identify with, you know, how do I want to do this? There seems to be this group think, like, okay, this is where we're going today. And right now, the lane that we're in is transgenderism. That is where, that is a hill we apparently are going to die on, literally. Well, some people, some people are going to take that as the be all and all costs, okay? I think where you started with, look, if you teach your children what to think rather than how to think, sooner or later they're going to run out of runway with what you taught them to think. And now people can intervene and intercede, whether it be through the Internet or whatever else, because they'll say things that, no, this is the truth. Well, if I know how to think, I can now step back and say, why would they say that's the truth? What does this mean? You know, it... Our problem is, is we have kids right now who are online that have been taught what to think by academic institutions, by social media, and all this stuff. Yeah, right. And they don't know how to think. Where do I go and get my information? You know, you want them to turn back to you. and ask you, but that's not always going to happen, and we all know that. It's not that they don't love you and they don't respect you, but... I'm going to say a word that makes all of us cringe, but we're older. We're not in their shoes. We're not walking with them. There are kids their age. So clearly they go and they get their information from them. I look at my grandkids. My grandkids are a perfect example. I raise my kids. My kids are in their 30s. And my oldest is in her is 40, about to turn 41, which. But anyway. She didn't necessarily want that to be public news. Well, yeah, and I'll hear about that later today. It doesn't matter. She lives here in Tucson. So even though she doesn't listen, someone of her friends do. And so trust me, I'm already in trouble. I'm in trouble every day when I get up. But it's just life. But I think when it comes to raising kids, they'll go off the path, like putting their hand on the stove. I think then you give them some rope, but you're then also there as a safety net. You know, we've had this. We had this with five girls. We had breakups with boys. We had boys we didn't, you know, all of it. They all married well. I love my in-law kids. All of our kids are doing well. All seven of our kids are married. I...
That isn't because I did anything uniquely special or different or my husband. It's because we poured into them and we love them. And when they made mistakes, and sometimes they didn't talk to us for a while, like as adults, we were always a safe place to return to. We never stop loving them. And we never, even to this day, we never stop caring. But so many families get estranged. The political divide in this country is a cancer, and this transgenderism is part of it. It's just, it's not the whole thing, but it's part of it. Like you mentioned earlier, the people questioning Kash Patel in the Senate today, calling him the most bipartisan FBI director. Really? Really? Did you not just see what happened the last four years? How the hell do you get away with saying something like that? And I think Cash stood up for himself. I've been here doing the show, so I can't say that unequivocally. He did pretty well. I mean, there are a couple of times he just said, yeah, no. And there were a couple of times where he said, you know, Congressman, from your position with what you know, that's your opinion. But that is not the truth. Okay, good go. That was, no, that's a great way to handle it, you know. And I think where Charlie made the greatest difference is not with people that think like him or agreed with him. It's with people that didn't agree with him like liberal host Bill Maher. And he actually is mourning because him and Charlie sat down recently. And I think that to me illustrates. the ability to take someone who ideology is so different than yours, but find that bridge. And if we could do more of that, we could heal what's wrong in this country. But it's going to take people like Bill Maher. It's going to take other people because Bill Maher literally said today, any of you out there that think that this was a good thing or that he deserved this, you need to stop that right now. I mean, he said that. And that's what it's going to take. This movement is about taking people and holding them to tasks for things that they know are intuitively wrong. And if you don't know it's wrong, then somebody needs to let you know that it's wrong in a respectful way. I don't sit here and say, hey, you're stupid. You don't know anything because the minute I use those words, the communication is stopped. Nobody has the right to be killed for what they believe. If we started doing that, and I have a difference of opinion, this is the Wild West. I mean, everybody with a gun, an arm, or anything, I mean, if I don't like what you think, I just shoot you, that's what we've come to. I don't think so, and I don't think Charlie thought so either. Not at all. And in Mar, I just want to say this because I think it's important, and you'll appreciate what he said, reiterated that he still identifies as an old school liberal. I love that, see, old school, but remains sharply critical of what he sees as the far left's dominance over modern progressive politics.
As I always say to my woke friends, we voted for the same person. You're just why she lost. So I think he, you know, that's, he's saying I'm, I'm in this party, but the party. is the party, they're helping us. They don't know it. And they don't understand that sometimes you have to have decorum and decency and compassion and sympathy and empathy and all the things that matter. So we have to take a break. And we come back. We're going to finish up. I'm talking to my good friend Steve. from Virginia, used to work at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. was a big thing once in a while back then, in the good old days. You are listening to 1030 The Voice. You can rebut when we come back. To 1030 The Voice, I'm Kathleen Wynn. And this is your trusted local news source and some other stuff. We'll be back. Welcome back to Win Tucson, and we have a busy week ahead of us. Lots going on. Today is one week from the special election. If you did not get a ballot, you're not going to get a ballot. If you live in CD7, that means no, no, no. This is important stuff, Steve. And then we'll come back to this. This is my infomercial here for my people in Tucson. Okay. If you've not gotten about, you're not going to get a ballot. There's polling places. You need to go and vote. The gap between Adelaide Grijalva and Daniel Boutierrez is small. She's leading, but not by much. And I'm telling you right now, there's a moment in time for just right now, we can. Put someone in this seat for the next 15 months that can do good for this part of the world, for this state, for this border, for this region of the country. If ever you wanted to make a difference and you go, gosh, what do I do? Go vote. Vote, vote, vote, vote. And vote for Daniel Boutierrez and CD7. It's simple. It's easy. You should do that. Adelaide is on the wrong side on everything that we stand for in this state. She's carrying on her father's legacy. Let's let Raul Grijalva rest in peace. God bless him. God bless him for his service. But this seat does not belong to Adelita because her last name is Grohava. This seat belongs to you, the people. And you should use this opportunity to say, not on our watch. We're not going down this way. So thank you. That was my commercial. All right. We are now returning to Wind Tucson. And a good commercial it was. It just.
pop me off guard when you said, if you haven't got a ballot, you're not going to get one. Well, you're not. It's true. True story. We're a week away from a special election, and people are waiting for their ballot to come in the mail that's not coming. I'm tired of telling people, you're not going to get one. Go do something about it. If you have not got it in the mail, you need to immediately go down to your nearest voting place and vote. Yes. Do not pass go. Do not collect $200. Go to the polling place and get your ballot and go to the county recorder's office. Many people look at it as a right. It's a responsibility. Thank you. Men and women every day serve this nation around the world protecting what we treasure so much as our government. Yes. The least you can do is take five minutes of your time to vote. I love it. I'm just I'm just telling you I know it's perfect it's so we forget right we are so we're so immersed in our own worlds and we need to just just take a I mean we're looking at so what's the average voter turnout for an election in the United States 30% You know, somewhere around 40%. Okay. The first election in Iraq, and I was there, and we were facilitating, and people had to come out of their homes, walk through roads and streets filled with people who said, we will kill you if you go to the voting booth. We will come in and kill your families. We will take and destroy your children. We will do horrible things to your women. They came out in droves. And we had to get their votes. The only way we could do it because we didn't have any fancy electronic machines and everything else. You had to show up. You had to Marco Rubio paper ballot. And we had to stick your thumb in a purple ink well and dye it so that we knew that you'd voted. What a concept. That purple thumb meant that everybody that went home was telecasting. I voted. They had voted. Right. Against what they've been told to do. And they did that. There was a man, and this gets me so fired up, there was a man that came in carrying his three-year-old son. And he said, can I stick his thumb in the ink well? And I went, sir, you know what this means. We're talking to interpreters. You know, it's. Dangerous enough for you. This means something for your son. He goes, you don't understand. This is the first day of my son's life. That's how they valued voting. Think about our founding fathers and how they stood up and they voted with their actions. Voters need to take the time. Your vote matters. Even if you don't win, your vote matters. I'm sorry. Okay, now off off. No, it was beautiful. You can keep going. I love that. I love, see, we are those people. Those are the people we are. We take up arms for other people. We take up causes. We are a generous, kind person at our heart. To be told that we're, I think, and I told you this off the air, what bothers me most about this.
They killed somebody. They assassinated somebody who was trying to bring people together for the good of this country and was probably one of the most intelligent, kindest, focused, determined kids that I know. You know, Charlie, again, two years younger than my youngest. And I didn't think of him, but I didn't think of him like I'm his mom and he's this young kid. I thought him as a peer. He was so insightful. And I just, I think I'm sad. I'm so sad for the loss. I'm sad for Erica. I'm sad for those babies. I'm sad for his parents, his in-laws, and all those people that work for Turning Point. I talked to some of them yesterday and I don't want to, but, you know, some of them talked to Charlie 8, 10, 20, 50 times a day because that was their accountability. And they had no warning. They didn't get to say goodbye. They didn't, you know, but it is so important that we. not make this be about Charlie because Charlie wouldn't want us to make this be about Charlie but the but where he came from his position of honoring God is he said it you know and he was interviewed recently and he kind of was surprised you mean like when I'm dead was his response to what you know what do you want to be remembered for and and he wanted to be remembered for his faith he wanted to be remembered for where he stood for God and that he lived a godly life and he did you know he probably went out of the pinnacle don't But, you know, the problem is Kathleen, people don't, I heard people say the other day when he said that, okay? And I absolutely agree with him, 100%. Yeah. But they don't understand what that means. Right. They don't understand that when I love God and I have faith in God and I'm living the life that he's called me to live, that means I love my wife. That means I honor my vows. That means I love my kids and take care of my kids. That means I love my neighbor more than myself. I mean, that, you know, everybody uses that, well, he's a man of faith, but you've got to understand what that means. It is so much bigger, and that's what Charlie was. And it shocks me when I first saw Charlie at Clippet, he was like a graduating high school kid. And he was talking about taxes and debt. And here we are all this time later, and we're still talking about those things. What Charlie's calling people to do is take responsibility and don't pass this on to somebody else. We have to be men and women of God.
Sons and daughters, we have to do those kinds of things with each other if we're going to be successful. This idea of locking ourselves away and getting angry at the other side and yelling and screaming and, you know, bringing chaos to him, that's not what he was about. And anybody that's in the sound of our voices right now that thinks that's the way to behave, they need to stop right now, they need to go back and watch Charlie's videos and they need to pay attention to what he was saying. And I think we haven't. I have to say just locally we have gathered in churches. I've never seen so many church vigils. And the people that are being brought to Christ, it's been enormous. And everyone's going to gather at Cardinal Stadium. You know, I do have to say, Erica said that, you know, Tiller Swift had had a concert there and she had 70,000 people. She wants ours to be bigger. I think there's only 74,000 seats. So there's only going to be so much we can do. But my understanding is that all the tickets. Yeah, but we can tailgate. The Cardinal Stadium, you can tailgate. They got springs outside. You can be outside. You could be 200,000 easy. I love that. That's a great idea. I'm sure the police in Glendale would be so happy you suggested that. But yes, they can tellgate, and maybe we should. And if you can't get in, you do the next best thing, you know. Well, so there is an opportunity. And I have to say we are not the party of political violence. We are not the party of burn it down. We are the party that will dialogue with you. And we're the party that understands the importance of this nation in the Constitution and the rule of law. And, you know, there's an opportunity for us to be more Christ-like. And I think that that's hard when you're, if you have to follow your faith, not your emotions sometimes. And sometimes you just have to take a deep breath. How many times that we each lost something that's very dear to us? And we don't know how to deal with it. Right. You know, and sometimes the first reaction is, well, God, why did you do this? Instead of God. And this is what Erica did the other night. She said, God gave me Charlie. God gave us all, Charlie. Well, I know, but from her perspective to say, the time was so precious to me that now I need to continue what he and we.
I've got my hat's off all day. I've never met her. I never met Charlie. They're wonderful. But I feel like, but I feel like I know them. And, you know, it's just, it's, it's a shame. And I, you know, I don't know. When somebody says, well, you know, prayer's not going to solve this. Well, I know that prayer answers a lot of my questions, and I know what the absence of prayer means. And somebody told me, well, but I'm an atheist. What do you think of that? And I said, oh, man, you got a lot more faith than I do. And they said, what do you mean? I thought you were a Christian. I said, if you're an atheist, you believe. There is nothing left after this world. Steve, we've got to go. And that's more faith than I have. Anyway, love you. I love you too. Thank you so much. Thanks again. And I'll tell Betsy, you said hi. It is, you have been listening to The Voice on 1030 KVOI. I'm Kathleen Wynn. This is Wynne Tucson. Tomorrow come and join us. We will have China Watch Wednesday. And we have so much more. Make it a great week. Bye.
