online every five seconds we really do because i think just so many people in general that i've seen on facebook who i otherwise respected and thought they were good people some of their comments i'm like oh my gosh what the hell is wrong with you and then there are a lot of people who are losing their jobs whether it be in media or other things because they're putting these disgusting thoughts out there if you want to say something like that Call a friend and say it or text a friend and say it. Stop putting it on social media where everybody can see, you know, how you are. Exactly. Remember when we didn't talk politics and religion with anyone outside like a small... close circle. We kind of need to go back to that. That doesn't mean that you can't be politically active if you want. Doesn't mean you shouldn't show up to vote and all of that or hold whatever opinions you want. But this, you know, putting it out there every five seconds, it's not healthy. No, it's not. And most people, like, it's not having the impact that you wanted to have. No. You're not changing anybody's mind. The people that do that, I'm like, unfollow. Yeah, exactly. Really, the only time your life should revolve around news and politics. things like that is when you listen to the show every morning. And it'll make you smarter. Exactly. Take a look at the reaction among some politicians to the assassination of Charlie Kirk. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was asked about toning down the rhetoric, including calling those on the right fascists and comparing them to Nazis. Here's what she said. I believe. That if we want to stop the scourge of violence in this country, we must do our jobs and pass common sense gun safety reforms in the United States, period. What do you think about the use of the word not? And I, here's what I believe. Because to be honest, we are in an environment of escalated rhetoric, but a person who hears this rhetoric should not be able, if they have a history of domestic violence, if they have a history of descending into what seems to be, you know, a violent spiral, should not have access to a gun. I just never. It's so frustrating in the aftermath of these shootings, immediately saying, you know, we've got to pass these common sense gun reform. You have no idea how this person, we don't even know who the person is yet, let alone know how they came across. that weapon or what their history was if they've ever had any history of violence exactly essentially it was Probably be better to take the guns away than to stop calling the other side Nazis. That's a quick summation of what it sounded like she was saying there. Representative Clay Higgins, Republican from Louisiana, said that he wants to use congressional power to punish anyone who mocked or celebrated the assassination of Charlie Kirk. In the next post, he called for the lifetime bans of those people from social media. He wants to revoke their driver's licenses, blacklist them from businesses, and expel from schools offenders.

and he wrote that he wants to cancel with extreme prejudice, these evil sick animals. What he didn't do was outline how the penalties would be legally carried out because none of that would be constitutional. As infuriing as it is to see some of what people are putting on social media, like they have the right to say it in this country. And then they have the right to be held accountable. Like you've seen a lot of them get fired from their jobs. Yeah, I guess there was a secret service agent who got fired for this. That's right. I'm shocked by the number of people like the reaction. I think because I watched one, they kept showing up on TikTok, and it was just nonstop. Mostly women, like, celebrating his death. It was disgusting. And I'm like, it almost seems like there would be like a fringe number of people doing something like that. Right. But it's pretty widespread. I don't, I still don't believe that's where most Americans are at. And I believe that, you know, right, center, left. But it's the algorithms they pick up. You know, there are enough people who are saying those kinds of things. And then with the algorithms doing that, it seems like everybody is saying that kind of stuff. Yeah. My 13-year-old son, unfortunately, came across the video, and he went to sleep crying because of what happened yesterday. This is the long-lasting effect that this type of behavior is going to have. He makes a really good point, and that's what you're concerned about. Yeah, my son asked me if he could see it, and now I'm wondering, did he already see it? Because he knows that it's out there somehow, and he said to me on Wednesday when it all happened. He said, are we doomed? Is America doomed? Because he knows, you know, he knew that he was very disturbed when Trump got shot, you know, last year. And, you know, now this. Yeah. He's concerned about it. And then, you know, trying to keep. them from consuming all the school shooting stuff, the church shooting, I mean, it's just one thing after another. And yeah, I think if you're a kid, you wonder, what the hell is going on? Are we doomed? But that's just an awful, you know, mindset for a kid. And he's such a happy kid. And I've tried so hard to shield him from all this, but he's at an age now. He's 13 where I can't protect him from all this stuff anymore. It sucks. Right. If you need him to, you know, have a more positive outlook on life, you should bring him in here. I can have a conversation. People want.

Good morning. 9-10 was a dark day, just as 9-11, 24 years ago was a very dark day. These were inflection points in American history. We need to stop the violence. The leaders need to listen to each other and stop the rhetoric. We are on the same team. We forget that all the time. The violence must stop. And that was really what everyone felt in the aftermath of 9-11, that we're all on the same team here. We're all Americans, yeah. Yeah, yeah. And we've just gotten so far away from that. And you can be on the same team and still have disagreements in terms of how to, you know, operate that team. This is what Joe had to say. Regarding the sadness of Charlie Kirk's debt, are we going to finally realize? that we must take up arms and we must crush this opposition force before they kill all of us. Are we going to wake up and understand that peace and love and God is not the answer to solve our problems, that we must annihilate them. And that's right, I said it. So a bit of a different message from Winston. Yeah. And it's a little jarring. Yeah. And this is one of those situations where. You know, sometimes these days, it's tough to tell. Is that somebody who... is on the verge of doing something along the lines of what they're advocating for. Right, or is he just really angry? Yeah, or is it just somebody who has been kind of radicalized and gone down this rabbit hole and is just, you know, spewing that kind of stuff in like a safe environment, almost like a keyboard warrior kind of way. disappointed with Kash Patel and Pam Bondi. I think they need to go. Pam Bondi. That's her nickname. Look, Kash Patel have not been impressed with how he's handled this so far. No, I mean, totally coming out and saying that they had someone in custody. You can't do that. You can't do that just in general, but on such a high profile case like this, you got that wrong. Right. And then I don't think he helped himself. Like, it was great that he was there in Utah, but he didn't say anything at the press conference. He should have been the one speaking, right? Yeah. Or he should have at least said something. I would have left it to the governor there. I think he's done a very good job. But if I were cashed, I think it would have been prudent to get in front of the microphone. Thank everybody who's involved with the investigation and assure everyone that, you know, they're doing everything they can to catch the perpetrator, all of that, to have them to stand there and then they didn't take any questions and just walks off. It was just... A bad look. Yeah, it was a bad look. Acting as his own lawyer, Trump assassination, Tim suspect, Ryan Ruth used his opening statement to rant about world affairs claiming Russian President Vladimir Putin. has slaughtered 1.5 billion people. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has killed 60,000 any acute President Trump of trading a war for an election. After that, he veered further off track, talking about the origin of the human species. Eventually, Judge Eileen Cannon interrupted him and told him to stay on topic, and that's when he broke into tears telling jurors, this case hangs on intent what's in one's heart. This case means absolutely nothing. A life has been lived. To the fullest. So just not making any sense. Not surprising. I think this is pretty much exactly what we thought was going to happen in his opening statement. A bunch of like crazy ranting. And that's when the judge cut off for good scolding him about making arguments that have nothing to do with the case. She also said, you don't have unlimited license to make a mockery of the dignity of this courtroom. Then he cross-examined secret service agent Robert Verkano, who testified that he saw Ruth aiming a semi-automatic rifle directly at him and Trump. Ruth kept referring to himself in the third person as the defendant. And he asked how the defendant could have been positioned that way. I don't know if that's some kind of strategy or what. Fricano replied, I don't know your mindset that day. All I know is you were pointing a weapon at my face. Ruth responded by saying, maybe it wasn't my mindset. Oh, my gosh. This guy's just insane. The judge in this case, Judge Eileen Cannon must be thinking, are you kidding me? I got to decide over this. How long is this going to go on for? I have no. I mean, this guy, I don't know. You would say it will probably go on forever the way he's ranting and raving in the courtroom, but she keeps kind of raining him in. She doesn't let him go too far. I think he went on for like six minutes and then she's like enough already. But yeah, this case is, this trial is off to the start that I think we all expected.
