That's a designation the National Weather Service hasn't given to areas, including Tampa Bay, in 16 years. Used to be called the windshield alert. The extreme cold watch will also affect Palm Beach, Okeechobee, Martin, and St. Lucie counties. And further south, they'll be under a freeze watch as the coldest air since 2010 will be passing through the southern part of the peninsula, all part of this cold front sweeping across the state. and causing problems, especially for events like the big Gasparalla parade in Tampa Bay, which starts tomorrow. Although the NHL Stadium Series game, it's going to be at Ray J this weekend, that worked out pretty well. Yeah, the ice won't melt. No. The people might freeze. It's going to be a little chilly, but... The potential for golf affects snow, like snow flurries, that I think they put it like...
20%? Oh, it's up to 20% now? I saw the other day 12%. But you would think that there's a Cat 5 hurricane coming away. These meteorologists are hyping this up. I mean, all my entire Facebook feed. And then I've got my friends, are you ready for the snow this week? And I'm like, it's not going to snow. Yeah, I don't have my snow boots anymore. It's so funny, though, isn't it? Like, I lived in places where, like, Chicago and Cleveland, where they had lake effects snow. Yeah. Yeah. We're going to have golf effects snow? Yeah. Yeah. What is that? It just sounds like ridiculous. But if it happens, expect everybody to just go haywire. Oh, of course. It'll be a huge story if that happens. Oh, yeah, it's going to be insane. The warning lights are going to be on cars driving down the road. The hazard lights on. Yeah, it would be a whole thing. I can only imagine. We'll see if it actually happens. But the amount of cold air that's coming and how far it's stretching. I mean, South Florida is going to set some records. You've got parts of the Tampa Bay Area that could be in the teens. I mean, this is nuts. I'm cold just thinking about it. And I didn't realize this. until this morning, you know, we've been focused on the cold weather here in our state. And we've been kind of monitoring what's going on around the country, but at least 85 people have died. Yeah. From this last cold front. And there was that story. We were talking about this off the air the other morning. What was with that woman? She was walking home? Yes. So she was a teacher in Kansas. And she was out with friends one night. And she was walking home. And it was like below zero temperatures. And she was missing for like two days. And then they found her in the snow. She had apparently, it was so cold outside while she was walking home. She just, yeah, like hypothermia. She collapsed and she died in the snow. Oh, my. Yeah, yeah. And I think that's, I mean, that's what a lot of it is. And there's so many power outages, too, that just think about that. It's freezing cold. People have no power, they have no heat. You can't plug a space heater in or something. Like, you can't do anything. It's freezing. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, I mean, we have obviously situations when there are power outages in extreme heat. But the cold, of course, you know, just as deadly, even maybe more dangerous in some ways. And that's, you know, been one of the problems this winter. It's just been a lot of severe weather and unexpected for a lot of places. And here in Florida, you know, we're seeing it in maybe the least. amount of severity compared to some places. For us. Yeah, but for us, it's a big deal and it's not easy to deal with because, you know, not everybody is equipped with heating and some of the other things that, you know, you need to stay comfortable when it's this cold. Yeah, I'm thinking about putting, you see what those NFL players were doing during some of those cold games. They're putting cayenne pepper in their shoes. Yeah, I'm not thinking about doing that. I need that. Yeah. I saw somebody on one of the mom Facebook groups ask if it was okay to bring her a small dog outside. Yeah.
cold. And everybody was like, yeah, I think your dog is going to be okay. It's not that cold. Maybe get your dog a sweater. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, I mean, it's, you know, we obviously are unhappy here. Nobody of North is going to, you know, have any sympathy for us. But. You know, if there's any consolation, we can look at those forecasts in the video from what's going on up there and be like, okay, this isn't that bad. Right, right. We're way better off. We're not dealing with that down here. All right. What else is going on, Chris? So the House Ethics Committee has issued a report detailing 27 counts against U.S. Representative Sheila Scherfellis McCormick. The report results from a two-year investigation. Leaders of the bipartisan committee are going to consider consequences for the Miramar Democrat. So the report detailed evidence that... Trinity Health Care Services, which was a public health company founded by Sheriffless McCormick, collected $5.8 million in overpayments from the state of Florida and then funneled that money into her re-election campaign in 2020. It's like free money. Yeah. Hey, it just showed up. What am I supposed to return it? No, she decided to buy, what was it, a $300,000 ring? I think the value of the ring was actually more like $109,000. Oh, okay. So not that bad. And she wore it in her official congressional picture. I went to look her up and I see this picture that was taken, you know, just over a year ago. And she's got her arms crossed in front of her very, like, nice and professional looking in this massive rock. Yeah. So I actually shared. the picture the last time we talked about this. So if you scroll down on our ex at Ryan Gorman Show, you'll find it. And then the other funny thing was that so she's got that official picture with the ring in it. And then she put out a Christmas card, like a digital Christmas card all over social media. And the ring was removed. They took it off. Yeah, took it off. And then she had to, you know, address it. And she said, oh, I didn't, I didn't remove that. My staffers removed it to protect my reputation. Yeah, it reminded me of in Goodfield. where remember when Robert De Niro's character, they show up to the bar and the one bought his wife a fur coat and the other's got like a brand new Cadillac. He's like, guys, what are you doing? What are you doing? It's like you get a $100,000 ring seriously. You're putting a spotlight right on you. You've got Congressman Greg Stuby, another member of Florida's congressional delegation. He says he's going to move to expel her when the House returns following this ethics report. And I have to be honest, it seems like we're not sending our best people to D.C. you had Matt Bill Gates and his ethics report. Yeah. You got Cory Mills and his ethics report. And then he got this. Yeah. But here's the difference. This was a health ethics report that wasn't good for her. But the Justice Department indicted Circulus McCormick on charges that she used $5 million in COVID vaccine distribution funding for personal spending. Matt Bill Gates did not get charged criminally in his case. And he still had to leave Congress. Right, right. She's got big legal issues. She's dealing with too. All right. Let's get to one more quick story. So Tesla plans to launch its driverless robotaxy service in Tampa this year. The company's quarterly update indicated it plans to bring the autonomous vehicles to three Florida cities, including Tampa, Orlando, and Miami in the first half of 2026.
So it comes after Tesla's competitor, Waymo, began testing its fleet of autonomous self-driving vehicles on the streets of Tampa. So they're going to be bringing robo-taxies to Florida and other cities throughout the country, including Texas and other places, Arizona as well. Yeah, and Waymo is in the news because one of their self-driving cars struck a child near an elementary school out in California. But, you know, to be fair, I mean... kids are small on the camera just maybe didn't pick up the kid oh please i don't know luckily the kid got up and was okay so it wasn't uh you know a serious situation but not a great look who's held responsible for that though that's what i want to know when a kid gets hit like that like normally if you're the driver then you could be charged or held responsible in some way but if the vehicle itself will be in court yeah is the waymo the company responsible would you ride in one of these i would uh because i i i gotta be honest with it i know we keep seeing these stories and all of that but uh have you seen human drivers well let me tell you i would drive in one i was in a taxi and a guy who was driving like totally lost where he was going and crashed into a... Really? A stoplight at a street corner. And I'm sitting in the back, like, what the heck are you doing? And the guy just said, I don't know what happened. Everybody had a brain fart? What the heck? I mean, I think I would trust the Waymo driver automated than one of those guys. So, yeah. But, you know, now here's the other question. Would you take Waymo or Tesla? Who would you prefer? That is a good question. You know, whichever one's cheaper, to be asked. Yeah, exactly. Whichever runs faster. Yeah, whichever one has a better rate. Like whoever's cheaper, right? Exactly. Well, the latest Florida Doge report, it took me a second. I was like, are they talking about counties or are they talking about us women? I couldn't figure it out because the world. Excessive spending and overspending is said time and time and time again. The good news is that zero fraud was discovered in the latest probe from the Florida Department of Government Efficiency. They did a review all the counties and really there's no exception to the terminology that was used. The only one that maybe got away with a little less fault in the spending category was Pinellas County, where it was the excessive spending with homelessness services and enterprise IT systems, sports fees tied to the raised negotiations, terminal leave payouts, contracts, you name it. But nobody was unscathed in this latest report. And again, we're starting to see more of the facts, more of the details. behind it. Palm Beach County's general fund spending went up 90% since 2016 outpacing its 10% population growth. So the numbers aren't adding up. And now that we know, now let's see what's going to be done about it. Yeah, the 98 page report reviewed 13 of Florida's largest cities and counties. Now,
This was part of the Doge task force here in Florida, and part of the effort for Doge is efficiency. Well, the report came in two weeks after its deadline. Not efficient at all. Yeah, they need to doge themselves. Yeah, they could improve their efficiency a little bit. But, you know, there were a lot of allegations that were made. You had the CFO, Blazing Goli, a run around the state, saying, you know, we're finding this, we're finding that. Just kind of like what we saw with Elon Musk and Doge at the federal level. And then when the report comes out, it's a bit more like, yeah, there are some things that, you know, certain cities could probably scale back on if they wanted to. but no fraud or abuse. Why don't they do this to the property insurance companies and spend a little time doging them? That's what people care about. That would be a fantastic idea. Like in one of the reports pages, they talk about Miami's city manager, the salary increased to $475,000. It seems like a little bunch. Yeah. That's a lot. I can do that job. It's a lot of money. So I don't take any issue with that. And now we'll see, you know, as cities and counties across the state respond to this, we'll see what they say. I have no problem with going in and saying, look, this is what we're finding. Are there ways that we can be more efficient at the local level? I think it would be more credible if this was also something that was being done with the state. budget and if this didn't seem like it was part of a campaign effort for cfo blazingolia you know going around the state and also if um the the findings didn't focus specifically on cutting property taxes the governor's big initiative you know what i mean so feels like there was a bit of an agenda there but uh an interesting report that's finally now been released what else is going on natalie Kevin Warsh, President Trump's pick to be the new chair of the Federal Reserve, the current Fed chair, Jerome Powell. His term will end in May. And we're at a point right now where some Republican senators have vowed not to confirm a new Fed nominee until the Justice Department drops the criminal investigation to Jerome Powell. Jerome Powell has accused the administration of threatening charges against him because the Fed hasn't lowered interest rates as much as the president wants. But we'll have confirmation of this info later on today. We're expected to hear from the president to make it official. Yeah, so he would take over this spring, if confirmed by the Senate. And I think, you know, putting all this stuff involving Jerome Powell aside, he would get confirmed by the Senate. I think he's one of those picks where that wouldn't be a problem. He was a former Fed governor. He served from 2006 to 2011. He was one of the top advisors during the financial crisis. And, you know, when you look at kind of his view of things, probably a little bit... it more on board with what Trump wants to see done than from what we've seen from Jerome Powell. But I don't think it's that big of a shift. I don't think he's a rubber stamp for, you know, just going huge with interest rate cuts, you know, the minute he gets in. And even we were talking to our White House correspondent John Decker about this earlier, even if he wanted to, he's one vote.
Right. Yeah, he can't get everybody on board. The chairman has only so much power. He was the youngest Fed governor ever appointed at 35. Now he's 55. And he's married to Jane Lauder, an heir to the Estee Lauder fortune. Oh, really? So how about that? We both went like, ooh. He's living well. That's for sure. All right, let's get to the most important story of the morning. So I think all of us have had a vacuum or have a vacuum, though in this story, I'm not sure what setting it was used, whether it was turbomax or eco-quiet or hard floor. But either way, it is disgusting. And it happened at a private development in Kissimmee. So we've got a guy who was pleasuring himself with a vacuum. Okay. It's actual audio of the incident exclusive. You're not going to find that anywhere else. Yeah. And he was doing it outside. Like he wasn't. Wasn't even in the privacy of his own home. Yeah, no. No, he was partially clothed. Yeah. Though I'm not sure if he was wearing pants or a shirt at the time. Right. Yeah, 51 years old. There's video of this? Yes. It's on our website. No, I'm kidding.
Yeah, I can't even. Don't they make things that kind of have that same effect that are meant for that specific purpose? I don't know. I think they do make those kinds of things.
