Ron DeSantis, not ruling out another run for president, telling conservative talk show host Sean Hannity in an interview. on a podcast that he would have performed well in the 2024 Iowa caucuses, were it not for the overwhelming popularity of Donald Trump. Ron DeSantis, of course, term limited and will be out of office next year. And when asked if he would run, he said, quote, we'll see. So Ron DeSantis lost pretty badly in the Republican primary two years ago, despite investing heavily in the state, he traveled. literally to almost every county there and was a high profile candidate being the governor of Florida. But he took home 21% of the vote and dropped out of the race. He didn't even make it to New Hampshire. So I think if you were to look at Ron DeSantis and the way he's been governing the state of Florida, he's been spending a lot of time turning. like national issues into state issues. Yeah, right? And I think he's doing that because he's trying to maintain a national presence on important issues that normally the federal government would handle, but clearly he would like to handle as president. Yeah, I mean, it's basically a sure thing that he's going to run in 2028. I would be shot if he didn't enter the race. shocked if he didn't run for president again, because it's going to be an open field. And, you know, despite Trump constantly saying, maybe I'll run for a third term, he's not going to run for a third term. And you're going to have JD Vance, you're going to have Marco Rubio. You're going to have Ron DeSantis. And I'm sure there's going to be a whole long line of others who are going to want to jump in thinking it's their time. So I have no doubt he's going to run. Something else that stood out to me about that story. How does Sean Hannity have the time to have a podcast? He's got a radio show. He's got a TV show. Now he's got a podcast. Like, how does he do that? Well, because he probably has people that do a lot of the research and all this, all the extra stuff that you have to do. He probably has a whole team. Like, he probably has like 10, 15 people working for him, whereas you're just one guy. That's what I need. I need a whole team. Yeah. Yeah. How do I get stats? Yeah, you have me and I have like five other jobs. I think it's just AI. They're not guaranteed human over there. Yeah. No, I literally think that all Sean Hannity has to do is sit in front of the microphone. That's it. That's still a lot of talking. That is a lot of talking. It's still a lot. But going back to the race in 2028, you know, a lot of people look at JD Vance because he's the vice president and say he's automatically the frontrunner, I'm going to tell you.

I wouldn't, I wouldn't sleep on Marco Rubio. No, I think Marco Rubio has a really good chance of it. I think people really like him. Yeah. Well, here's the thing. I don't know if I agree with Ron DeSantis that he would have done so much better in Iowa. If you remember, he showed up there and was very awkward. You know, a lot of the people in Iowa just didn't connect with him because he's not a people guy. Right. You know, he was putting on the blue jeans and he had the weird shoes. With the shoes. It just didn't seem to click. Remember, it seemed like Casey Ron DeSantis connected better when she was out on the campaign trail, and people were like, you know, maybe Ron should bring her out there. You know? It's true. So, I don't know. The whole way he launched the campaign, too, when he tried to launch it on Twitter or X or whatever it was called at the time, it was a mess. Yeah. The idea of Ron DeSantis running for president was much better than the actual campaign itself, which fell really flat. But again, if it's an open field in 2028, he's got a big resume to run on, eight years running Florida and leading the way on a lot of conservative issues. I wouldn't count them out. But I'm keeping my eye, Marco Rubio. He just seems like his profile keeps... getting raised and he's right in the middle of so many big, big issues. And he can handle himself well with the media. Ron DeSantis has got to learn how to do interviews. Remember, he wouldn't do... He's very combative. He wouldn't do interviews in the earlier part of his campaign. Remember, he was like, I'm only going to do friendly, conservative media. And it turned out to be, it turned out to backfire because he wasn't getting his message out to a wide enough number of people. Trump being combative... is one thing. When Ron DeSantis does it, it's a little bit different. And you're right, Marco Rubio does handle himself. But I think even JD Vance handles himself better. Oh, yeah.
