You had War Secretary Pete Hegseth and FBI director Kash Patel, both testifying before Congress. And of course, things got a little heated. Not as bad as I would have thought, though, right? Pete Hegseth's hearing, I thought, was actually pretty informative. It wasn't quite as combative. But, I mean, I don't know if you saw this moment during the Kash Patel hearing, but let's go ahead and play this exchange. Written and documented. You are literally saying it. No, I'm saying that these are reports, uh, director Kash Patel. Unlike, unlike, I will say reports, the only person that was slinging margaritas in down Salvador and the taxpayer dollar with a convicted gangbanging rapist was you. You know, the only person that ran up a $7,000 bar tab in Washington DC at the lobby bar. This suggests to me. This suggests to me. Allegations are true. Are you polygraping you? Director Kash Patel, come on. I thought it was Maryland Democratic Senator Chris Van Hollen. It sounded like both of them needed a drink in that moment. Yeah, so that was quite a moment. Was Chris Van Hollen the best guy to put up to do that line of questions? Yeah, what was with the allegation of the $7,000 bar tab at a bar in D.C? Right. So Chris Van Hollen says the $7,000, according to what he's responded to with X, the $7,000 bar tab was for his campaign Christmas party. Oh. Oh, well, then that's okay. Yeah, that's not like him. It's not such a big deal. Yeah, I was going to say one person. Yeah. He's drinking $7,000 worth of alcohol. And it wasn't the campaign. It wasn't the tax. pair that paid for it, it came out of campaign funds, according to the paperwork, even that Kash Patel filed. All right, so a little misinformation there on the part of Kash Patel. Okay, and then that's an issue now. Like, does Kash Patel know that? And did he knowingly lie under oath? I mean, you're under oath in these things. That is true. That's true. Now, I did see Kash Patel. He didn't show up with a Yeti, like I was saying he should have. I thought that would have been great. But you knew that whole issue was going to come up. And then they agreed to. do what was uh what did they call it here danis got that clip too oh yeah a drinking a drinking exam yeah drinking test are you willing to take the the test that it's called the audit test that members of our active duty military and others take to determine whether they have a drinking problem i'll take any test you're willing to take i will take it i'll take it ready to take it let's go yes or no let's go sign by sign i'll take it All right. I've got a great idea. So for America 250, we should have like a test night where you've got the senator and Kash Patel. They do the drinking test. And then you have like President Trump and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. They do the cognitive exam. Yeah, that's a really good idea. It's all on prime time. I mean, how great would that be?

All right, Dana's actively sharing that now. we missed this? This was from last week. Oh, is that right? I don't know. Boy, I really dropped the ball on that one. We totally did. Thanks, Rory. You know, I was thinking, should we add Pete Hegseth to that drinking test? Yes, I was thinking the same thing, yeah. Probably, right? Yep. Yeah, maybe have him do it, too. Now, one of the big headlines that come out of the hearings, and we're joined by our national correspondent, Rory O'Neill, the price tag for the Iran War, now to 29. billion dollars Oh, with a big plus at the end of that, because as we heard from the auditor, they're not including the cost of rebuilding all the damaged American bases over there. And apparently there's a lot more damage than we were told about at different U.S. military sites spread across the Middle East. Iran struck a lot of these things. The fact that they were able to get through is also a bit of a jaw dropper. But there's apparently a lot of damage. They can't give an estimate on rebuilding it because... They don't know how they want to rebuild it yet. But that was a big dollar amount left off that $29 billion estimate. Yeah, it seems like an important part of the total. And they're going to have to rebuild it better than they built it, obviously, because I think that's one of the concerns. And there were some service members who spoke out and said that it wasn't secure enough. And that was part of the reason that they got some of the injuries that they got. Right. But if they blew up a trailer, as they did, sadly, which is where a lot of American lives were lost, well, that cost.
100 grand, but if you're replaced it with a full building, it costs 10 billion, and that's obviously a different kind of thing.
