Rubio Leads Vance in 2028 GOP Poll

So a new poll from Atlas Intel suggests there may be a new favorite to win the Republican Party's presidential nomination in 2028, assuming Trump doesn't try to run again. According to the survey, which was conducted between May 4th and May 7th, it included a sample size of about 2,000 American adults. A plurality of Republican respondents identify a Floridian. Secretary of State Marco Rubio as their preferred choice to carry the GOP's banner two years from now. His star is rising. Yeah, I mean, Vice President JD Vance, who had led most of these polls up to this point, finished in second at 29.6%. So Marco Rubio was at 45%. JD Vance at 29.6%. And then Ron DeSantis was a distant third. at about 11%. Yeah, and what's notable about this is back in December, you had JD Vance leading Marco Rubio by more than 24 points. JD Vance was at about 47% Marco Rubio at about 23%, so you could just see... Over the course of the first couple of months of 2026, Marco Rubio's profile has increased. Well, he's got all those jobs. I think that's helping. I think the memes are helping. And then did you see what he was wearing on Air Force One yesterday? Yeah, Marco Rubio. Yeah, Marco Rubio was wearing the gray Nike track suit that Maduro was wearing when he was captured. It's just this great, I mean, he must have been really comfortable on Air Force One. That's how I like to travel, too. I'll share the picture on our ex at Ryan Corman Show, but Marco Rubio looks like a kid who was just told to stand against the wall and pose for a picture. I wonder if becoming president would be a bit easier for Marco Rubio. I mean, it's one job. It's a big job. Easier. Yeah, you just keep his place right there on the couch. Yeah, in the Oval Office. Right now, he's running all over the place. National Security Advisor, Secretary of State. He's overseeing all these countries. The problem when your president, though, is you get blamed for all... All those jobs. You may not be doing all of them. You just get blamed for that. The other thing about Marco Rubio, though, is I think that, you know, initially I thought that he had been sort of swept aside as far as the handling of the war with Iran. And JD Vance took the leading role. You know, he was the one who went over to Pakistan to do the negotiating. That has not helped JD Vance. No. And it's, I think, helped Marco Rubio to not be right there on the front lines of that issue because the Iran war is just so unpopular. Right. It was like when Biden sent Kamala Harris to the board. Yes, exactly. Completely ineffective. Yeah. So I want to do a quick snap poll on our text line. I just think this is interesting. I want to gauge where all of you are at on this.

Last hour, we talked about this new poll that showed Secretary of State Marco Rubio leading the pack of potential GOP presidential candidates for 2028. by a pretty good margin over Vice President JD Vance and Governor Ron DeSantis. It was a big shift since this survey was taken back in December. And according to our text poll, we got a lot of responses. People were overwhelmingly in favor of Marco Rubio. I'm not surprised at all. A few picked Ron DeSantis. nobody picked vice president jadie vans it feels like his stock has gone way down and Marco Rubio has gone way up now things could change but that's where we are right now and i also feel like over the last couple of months or so, I really haven't seen JD Vance speak. I haven't really seen him do much of anything. I mean, he did go over to do those Iran negotiations, but nothing came out of that. But even before that, I feel like we don't see him very often, and we see Marco Rubio all the time. Yeah, he did a good job, Marco Rubio at that White House press briefing. It feels like he's coming to his own a bit with his appearances recently. So I wanted to note that. I also wanted to note a lot of people started following us on X. You can find us at...
