I couldn't tell you whether that proved to be a good or a bad decision. You never know what would happen had we done it. Either way. It is national. I had to look at this a little deeper. National without a scalpel day. Each year. January 16th recognizes National Without a Scalpel Day opportunities to treat disease without a scalpel. It was on this day in 1964, pioneering physician Charles Daughter performed the first angioplasty. Procedure to open a blocked blood vessel took place in Portland, Oregon. Not only did angioplasty allow the patient to avoid leg amputation surgery. 1964. But the lady left the hospital a few days later with a band-aid. That's it. No surgery, no stitches, no scars. He created a specialty called interventional radiology where doctors treat disease through a tiny pinhole instead of open surgery. They use x-rays and other medical imaging inside the body while they treat the disease. Changed medicine. Okay. Okay. They start listing here all of the things treated in such a manner. I think there needs to be a day that honors so many that sacrificed to get civil rights across the finish line. Because the story, by calling it Martin Luther King Day. And we set aside the frailties of the man, the failures of the man. And we look at the fact that, yeah, he had some shortcomings, but he also was a champion. Brilliant orator. We step back and we go, there are a lot of stories we don't know about because we just focus on Dr. King. And so I've been a long advocate not because I don't think Dr. King was worthy of notoriety. Again, certainly a man with great, great shortcomings, fidelity to a marriage, namely. Fact of the matter is it should be Civil Rights Day. We don't have a dog in the fight. There are no candidates that can win that are conservative or Republicans. They're just, there are not. And it's a reality of where the community is right now. It may not always be that way, but it is right now. And in my humble opinion, those that are conservative candidates that choose to run are going to damage the prospects of the best possible outcome because you cannot win, but you can keep a better choice from winning. I don't know if that makes sense. It's a... There's some political calculus that always has to take place. But you've got a, let's just say, candidate A is extremely left illiberal. Candidate B is a liberal, moderate on the left, and candidate C is a conservative. Okay, so you get those votes. that would otherwise go to the more moderate of the two candidates that are the likely winners. And you then create a situation where the extremist wins without a runoff. And that should never happen. The legislature should deal with that and should allow elections to only be settled in a general election. Never be settled in a primary. Never. But until that happens. So just remember that meeting. Got what's to be Friday in the third hour, but first the big stories in the press box here on the morning show. Secret Service wanted to have a word with a young man who went by Hans Lopez on his social media page on Blue Sky. He has resigned as a show host. for a radio station WUML, which is funded by the University of Massachusetts at Lowell. They're all volunteers. It's a student-run radio station because he posted, it's simple. We kill JD Vance. In response to a comment, JD Vance thinks Britain and France are America's likely enemies. And so this guy goes, it's simple, we kill JD Vance. You don't see this on the right. You just don't. He's no longer working there. But someone you might want to pay attention to if you're the Secret Service. I want to, I've decided I'm going to do a little switch up because. This is going to tie into something we're going to have a little chat about next week. This is the press briefing with White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt. I don't know who this reporter is. Thanks, Caroline. Earlier you were just defending ICE agents generally, and earlier on Secretary Nolton spoke to the media, and she said, among other things, that they are doing everything correctly. 32 people died in ICE custody last year. 170 US citizens were detained by ICE, and Renee Good was shot in the head and killed by an ice agent. How does that equate them doing everything correctly? Why was Renee Good unfortunately and tragically killed? Are you asking me my opinion? Yeah. Because an ice agent acted recklessly until it was unjustified. Oh, okay. So you're a biased reporter with a left-wing opinion. What do you want me to do? Yeah, because you're a left-wing hack. You're not a reporter. You're posing in this room as a journalist. And it's so clear by the premise of your question. And you and the people in the media who have such biases but fake, like you're a journalist, you shouldn't even be sitting in that seat. But you're pretending that you're a journalist, but you're a left-wing activist. And the question that you just raised and your answer proves...

your bias. You should be reporting on the facts. You should be reporting on the cases. Do you have the numbers of how many American citizens were killed at the hands of illegal aliens who ICE is trying to remove from this country? I bet you don't. I bet you didn't even read up on those stories. I bet you never even read about Lake and Riley or Jocelyn Nungre are all of the innocent Americans who were killed at the hands of illegal aliens in this country. And the brave men and women of ICE are doing everything in their power to remove those heinous individuals and make our communities safer. And shame on people like you in the media who have a crooked view and have a bias view and pretend like you're a real honest journalist. All right. 100%. 100%. There is a very, a much bigger narrative here to all of this that I think needs to be discussed. And let me plant this seed. What if I were to tell you that where we are today, what's happening in Minneapolis, which by the way, 100% avoidable? But what if I submitted to you that it is a result of 30 to 40 years of us handling immigration in this country wrong?

Legal and illegal immigration. We've just handled it wrong. We are reaping the results of decades of bad choices, bad decision making. We're going to talk about that next week because I've really been given this some thought. I've talked to some people that know what's going on in Minnesota, in Minneapolis in particular. You got to remember this. I spent a lot of time in the Twin Cities. I know it. And it should come as no surprise that I know people there. And those people know people. And you get my point. And so we may have a guest from up there on the show who is a liberal. but who wrote a piece on social media that was thought-provoking, but missed the bigger picture. Nothing he wrote, I disagreed with, and he's a liberal. But how we got to where we are is what's been missed. So we'll do all that. Those are the big stories in the press box. Got a note from a friend of the show said, I've written to all of the teachers that I could who made a difference in my life as I was growing up. and he lists second grade teacher, third grade teacher, fourth grade teacher, fifth grade teacher, middle school history teacher, maybe a high school teacher, an art teacher, I mean civics, he remembers them all. He said, I've written letters to each of them, let them know they made a difference in my life. I simply replied, that probably means more to them than their paychecks. Because for most teachers, that is like that is their Mount Everest hearing from a former student and that student saying, you made a difference. Just think about what that would mean to you in whatever you do to find out 20 years later that somebody did something because of you and the difference you made in their life. That it stayed with them for years and years and years. No matter what it would. Maybe it was just being kind to them. I mean, you get my point. That kind of feedback about somebody making a difference in a life.

This story came to me from Not the Bee, and when I looked at it, I just went, I literally, I pushed back in my chair. You know, you do? You just, you kind of push your chair away from a desk or a table, and you lean back and you go, oh. And it's like you're, you're getting further away from the screen in this case. And I print, like, obscene amounts of stories. And. Like it's going to change focus or something. Whoa. What's that? Here's the headline. Many of you know when I say Hillsong Church, you know exactly what I'm talking about. Church founded by Brian Houston in Australia. It is the mega church. It is. Now, Brian Houston had some trouble. Others in there downstream have had some trouble. The music that comes out of Hillsong is generally just spectacular. But I'm just going to read the headline and I'm going to let you just sort of noodle on this. Ready? Hill Song Church submits requests to Aussie government for billion dollar housing development. billion as in 1.07 billion dollars they want to spend 170,000 dollars. 170,000 square foot of publicly accessible open space. 915 dwellings, residential units and apartments, commercial and mixed-use buildings. It would include the preservation of the existing Hillsong Convention Center on the property. I mean, obviously, you've got to keep that.

said it would put nearly all of its assets on the line of security for the loan. Nearly. So you're saying they have more than $1 billion of assets? I just, I'm not, you know, you could step back and say, okay, they're addressing affordability in Australia. I don't know what they're doing. Are they creating a literal village for their membership that if they want to move there, they can? I don't know. I don't know. But you see why I pushed away from my desk and went, whoa, because I don't know what to think. There's a part of me that's like, oh, come on, one billion dollars. What are you doing storing up that kind of money? You're at church. Spend it for the sake of the gospel, right? But then there's this other part of me that's like, well, maybe that's what they're doing. But I can't imagine they're giving away the housing. I don't know. I just $1.07 billion. Yeah, I talked about teachers who make a difference. One of our regular listeners sent me a note. I won't risk, you know, I won't out her. But she's been a teacher for years, and she shared a video of a young man who is a Super Bowl champion. who was giving a pep talk to a room full of teachers and was doing a thing with kids reading and he's written books now and he said to the room of teachers you make a difference Starting in fourth grade, I had people that were cheering for me that made a difference in my life that believed in me and helped me. And he said, one of those teachers that made such an impact on my life is here tonight. And he points to the listener who wrote me. And so there's this video of them together talking about the importance of reading and learning to read and embrace. And it's just, it's a full circle moment. And she just, echoed what I said, that those types of moments and interactions mean everything. And I guess that's why I am so obsessed with getting rid of bad teachers. And why I hope those of you that are great teachers do not allow yourself to be bullied. by the activist teachers that only want to spread their political agenda, not help kids learn, not help kids develop critical thinking skills, not help kids learn to read and to value the power of words. Sadly, we are now at a place where those few teachers have bullied themselves into places of power. Sometimes they become administrators. Sometimes they just keep doing what they're doing and everybody around them scared. Scared to say anything, scared to do anything, scared to confront them. If you are a teacher and you know bad teachers, just like I've long contended school administrators know who the good teachers are, they absolutely know. And they know who the bad ones are. You confront the bad teacher with the spirit of maybe you don't know how to best help your students, but speak into their life. And if they don't receive it, go with another. And if it still doesn't work, follow the biblical principle. Take it to the administration. But don't allow yourself to be bullied into silence. Great teachers change lives. Always have, always will. Welcome to the second hour of the morning show with Preston. Scott and Preston. He's Jose. Good to be with you. Show 5525. And it's thrilled to have back on the program with us. Anastasios Kamutsas. He is the Commissioner of Education for the Sunshine State. Commissioner, how are you? Good morning, Preston. It's great to be here and be at the end of our first week of session. It's been a busy week. All I can say is, thank God it's Friday. It's a full contact sport, isn't it? It is indeed. And balancing that with we've got four daughters in our household to like so many parents at this exact time. We're packing lunches, getting clothes on, filling up those book bags and getting them ready to go to school. Well, if you have four girls, brother, you are getting a break when you go to session. That is one way to put it. Hey, there is some good news, and it's really nice on a Friday to talk about some good news that came out just a few days ago as it relates to what's happening in graduation rates in the Sunshine State. Tell us what you now know. Yeah, Florida just set the highest graduation rate in state history at 92.2% for the 24-25 school year. And we did it by raising expectations and standards, not lowering them. This success is part of an ongoing trend. And honest to God, this progress is the result of the consistent leadership under Ron DeSantis that shows that focusing on student success produces real results. And you're seeing... that this focus on achievement, this focus on merit, telling students that they can rise to these challenges is proving dividends across all subgroups. African-American students are up 3.9 percentage points in just one year. Hispanic students are up 2.6 percentage points in a year. Students with disabilities are up 2.3 percentage points, and economically disadvantaged students are up 3.3 points. The data points show that more students across every background are finishing their K-12 education journey strong, regardless of their income level or the way God created them. This is extremely encouraging for us.

All right. This now begs the big question. Why? What's working? Well, I think, number one, progress monitoring has been very helpful. We've heard from teachers, from parents, and from students themselves to have the ability to measure where you're progressing throughout the school year at the beginning, in the middle, and towards the end. It's very helpful data that people are able to utilize to provide necessary instruction, necessary interventions to ensure that our students are actually proficient on their grade levels in the respective subject areas. beefing up the standards. You know, the governor came in. One of the first things he did was eliminate common core. Just recently, we announced our updated standard as it relates to the history of communism. And so even though we're number one in education in the nation, we do not rest on our laurels. This governor commands... not just respect, but a work ethic like no other. And so we are constantly updating our standards to make sure that they are robust and rigorous and that the content our students are learning are factual education and not indoctrination. How big of a role has school choice played in all of this? Are you able to measure graduation in private institutions, virtual school online and so forth? Well, what we're able to do is see that the competition is driving a better product in the traditional public school system. And I've touted that over the summer as we were headed into the school year to see that our levels across the state are improving as students are continuing to get greater high quality education. And I think you're seeing that now reflected in these graduation rates. where the public school system is feeling the heat as it relates to the competition. Parents are voting with their feet and utilizing options that best fit their children's needs. And for the parents who have their children in charter schools or in private schools, we are hearing so many anecdotes of the success stories from those parents and how much their children are thriving in those educational environments. A few more minutes with Florida's Commissioner of Education and Estacio's Kamutsis. Are these numbers that you're sharing with Estasi, are they strictly public school graduation numbers? Is there any factoring in of other schools? These are just public schools. That is correct. But I also want to take an opportunity to talk about how high school graduation is not our finish line. It is the floor. When we teach our students about education, we're not just saying, hey, get across the finish line in high school. We talk bigger picture, whether it's workforce opportunities, whether it's going off to college, whether it's receiving a credential or a certificate in a particular industry. Right. These strong graduation outcomes, you know, they strengthen Florida's talent pipeline and reinforce why our secondary systems continue to be national leaders and why, you know, it is giving students a pathway to prosperity by meeting this bare minimum requirement. Forgive the, this might come across as just like dumb question number one, but I'm just curious in light of everything that we're seeing nationally with the immigration issues in our country, illegal immigration as well, of course. Does Florida educate in any part of our public school system in someone's language other than English? For example, if someone's in this country and the kids are newly here, are we teaching them solely in Spanish? No, no, I mean, we certainly have English language learners, and I even have a data point on English language learners. So that says that actually they had the largest gains statewide. Yeah, 5.6%. Yeah, there are 5.6 percentage points from last year. So, no, these students, even the students who, English is not their first language, you know, we're seeing major gains with those students by ensuring that they're receiving the same. instruction and exposure that all students across the state are receiving. Yeah, because, you know, the assimilation into our country, it starts with the fundamental understanding of our language. And I think that whether we're talking about a student that's newly here from another country, or we're talking about even being proficient in our own native language here in America as an American-born kid, that is just fundamentally important. And it's so... encouraging to see the improvement in that area here? I agree. I agree. And I've been really encouraged, particularly during session, to see that, you know, there is obviously bipartisan support for this, seeing the success in our education system. Folks on both sides of the aisle are touting the record graduation rates. But even with these historic gains, The union, the Florida Education Association, continues to push misleading narratives about our education system. You had to ruin our visit, didn't you? You had to say the union.

Look, I mean, it is frustrating, though, at the same time where they're pushing these narratives, they're failing to acknowledge the significant measurable progress students across the state are making. And quite frankly, it's a shame that the union who purports to represent our teachers will not celebrate their incredible achievements. Tell me this. Is there something that you're kind of just kicking around with the governor. We had the governor on yesterday. And he just talked about, and we have talked ad nauseum on this show. Florida, as one of the leading states in the country, in population, in economy, in governance. We are trendsetters. And I'm curious, is there something being kicked around that... You're excited about maybe moving to to push things even another level up. Every dating app swipe is another loss. Jimbros, fake CEOs, straight up losers. Yeah, I think continuing to build out our civics programs, our debate programs, ensuring that we're making, you know, we are protecting our students. I've always said that's my number one priority. I think historic funding recommended by the governor for school safety as it relates to higher education, whether it's the hardening dollars or expanding the Guardian program now into the colleges, that's huge for us. And quite frankly, teacher pay. Teacher pay is a big deal for this governor and something that he has funded year after year to the point that nearly $6 billion has been invested in teacher pay, and he's asking for another $1.56 billion this session to invest in teacher pay because we believe in high-quality educators being put in front of these students. We don't have much time left. I know you got to go, but let me just ask you on the subject of teacher pay. What, in short, what accounts for such a disparity between one county and another? Leon County teachers don't seem to be getting the bonus money, the additional salary, not forget the bonus money, the additional salary that's been allocated and is being put to use in other school districts of comparable size. Why is that? I've said it before. Leadership is everything, and unfortunately not every district is run by great leadership. I could tell you most of the districts have been able to get their teachers to pay. Leon, unfortunately, is not one of them. And there's something I need to make clear. in a short time, the teacher pay increase allocation is solely to go towards teacher pay, not administrators, not for other costs. Right. But that is in addition to the base salary allocation that the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, excuse me, the, the, the district receives that can also have the group of the flexibility to be utilized towards teacher pay increases. And so to only utilize teacher salary increase allocation and not be creative as a school district to find, funding in this other area that the governor has funded for teacher pay is pretty frustrating. And that's why this now is the standard. You judge any other candidate and what they want to do based on what we've watched for almost eight years now. We've watched it happen. And isn't it interesting how he barely got into office?

And then by the time he leaves office, the Republican Party is dominating in voter registration, seats held in the House and the Senate. Why? Because as Dr. Bob McClure so correctly says, good policy makes for good politics. People just step back and go, wow, it's kind of working. And again, we've got things to improve on. Example, tale of two states here. Not an example for us, but an example of the difference that Florida is compared to, oh, I don't know, Minneapolis. Illiberals on the left want to say that ICE doesn't go into red cities and states and do what they're doing in Minneapolis. Well, you know why? Because red cities and states cooperate, and you don't have this happen. Think about that for just a second. As much as, look, there is room to say that maybe ICE needs to dress it down a little bit. But you could also say, well, but they have to have a show of force because of what they're dealing with. They're not dealing with a cooperative governor and local leadership. They're dealing with opposition. Only now is Mayor Jacob Frye of Minneapolis saying cooler heads must prevail. We all must need to calm down. He hasn't been saying that. That's why you don't see these types of things happen in red states and cities. Todd Blanche, Deputy Attorney General, ICE operates in thousands of counties without incident. Men and women doing their jobs protecting us from criminal aliens. Minnesota insurrection is a direct result of failed governor and terrible mayor encouraging violence against law enforcement. Period. And stop. Example, though. In Jacksonville, woman named Jennifer Cruz decided to take action against immigration efforts. or at least show her opposition by punching a Florida Highway Patrol trooper in the face. This is on Beach Boulevard. 40-year-old woman, another awful, another white, female, liberal.

But see, in Florida, we don't put up with this crap. So she's going to be charged to the extent that she can be charged. She's facing multiple charges, violence, battery on law enforcement, driving with a suspended license, and the list goes on and on. And the really good news is, if convicted, she will not be able to vote and she will not be able to carry or own a firearm. It's done. So you prosecute the offals, and that's the difference between the two states. We don't put up with it. We don't have these incidents. We just don't. That's the difference. But it's a bigger issue than that. And as I'm, as, you know, you might have gotten a little bit of where I'm going. When I had my conversation with Stasi Kamutsis, Stasi was asked about the importance of speaking the language. That is part of the problem. We'll get to all of that. I've got data pulled up. The mayor of Realville. It's the morning show with Preston Scott. See a weaver, Cee Weaver? The, um... Director of the New York City Mayor's Office to protect tenants. Remember we played that clip of her? It was horrifying. It was undated. Well, more are popping up. And she's praising rent control. Now, as I read this quote, I want you to just keep locked in your mind the debate that's going on over affordability. Okay. Because this is where low information voters, uninformed people that, and low information does not mean stupid. It means exactly what the term expresses, low information. They don't have enough information. They're reading the headline of the amendment. They're reading the headline of the story. And they're going, huh, well, look at that. Listen to what she says. We decided that fighting for rent control was a strategic and critical first step in the fight for full social housing. A lot of times people ask, why are we fighting for rent control? When we have this organization, she's mentioning an organization in New York City that deals with public housing. We should be fighting to save public housing. We decided that through a program like rent control, we are able to directly challenge the logic of unfettered profit in real estate markets. We're able to directly challenge housing as a wealth building tool. And through regulation, strike a blow to the entire real estate industry at once. And yes. That board is controlled by the real estate industry, and yes, there could be a better way to regulate it. But the idea is that we could weaken the entire industry at once through a strong rent control campaign that would strengthen our ability to fight for social housing. So let me back this out now. And again, part of this is arming you with some tools to discuss this issue. about socialism. And in this case, quote, free housing. It's never free. It's paid for by someone. What they're saying with rent control is, we will decide how much you can charge for rent. If you own the house or if you own the apartment complex or the townhouse or whatever, you're like, yeah, but it's up to me to decide.

I've invested a lot in my property. I want to charge more. No, no, no, no. You cannot charge more. Yeah, but that's how I pay myself back for what I've invested. Yeah, but we're going to control your rent. The purpose of rent control is to gut the real estate market, thereby creating more opportunities for landlords to just walk away. Because they can't make any money. So guess who takes over? Government. And then they give the housing away. But you see, when you do all of these things, when you walk into the socialist world, eventually, especially in a place like America, it won't take long before you're stepping on the toes of the people that make it work. the entrepreneurs, the business owners, the people that own the properties, and then what do you have? You don't have anybody working. You don't have any businesses thriving. You have no way of generating the revenue, the tax base to support it all. And it collapses. And when it does, you have Venezuela. You have Russia. You have all of these socialist, now communist nations. I just wanted you to better grasp hold of what they're going to try to do and how. Rent control sounds great in the world of affordability. It's a means to an end for these people and never forget that. 41 minutes past the hour.

When we went to the Bahamas at Christmas time, well, after Christmas, everyone's driving on the other side of the road, and it was really weird. And you raise an interesting point. Maybe it's because we've got a bunch of people that aren't from this country that don't know. I don't know. Either that or maybe people just aren't very good drivers. We're trying to help them out. The traffic is going one way. Yeah. You have the arrows going in the same direction as the traffic is going. How do you not follow that? That is just really bizarre to me. And I'm just like, why an I kid? I know if their parents teach them how to drive, they know which way to go. You see the traffic going in front of you. So, baby, you go in front. this and that, and you never see anybody get prosecuted for anything. It just seems like... People like Pam Bondi get in there. She'll prosecute a person out there in the general population real quick over nothing. But you let some politician that's got just a barrel out of proof of their guilt, and nothing ever happens to political type of people in this society that we've got. It's just a big soap opera, it seems like. And ever since I started listening to Rush Limbaugh, Last one I really got involved with listening to political talk close to 40 years ago, and probably on one hand, all this talk about everybody's doing everything wrong. Maybe a handful of people in politics has been prosecuted over anything. You're getting a lot of people nodding their head, Dale, because you're right. Accountability. Where is it? Final caller here belongs to John. John, thanks for calling in. What's the beef? Hey, um, Preston, can you hear me? I can hear you great. I, um, I have watched a show yesterday. It's called, um, where the crawled ad sing. I heard, I remember here while back you had a policeman or lawyer or something on your show. I remember that, but my beef is the, uh, the part on the, uh, property taxes. She was going to lose her 40, 50, 60 acres. that she had for 40, 50, 60 years for $800. Somebody else paid the taxes, and they get all of her properties. That just seems like third world crud here. I think that still goes on now. I think you had something here while back about you don't really own your property because you don't pay your taxes, you lose it. That's just seems so wrong. It is, and that's why Ron DeSantis is trying to change it. You're exactly right. It's wrong. Change it just in Florida? Yeah, I mean, all he can, all he can do, all we can do is govern Florida. From the ground up, our friends over to Esposito's Garden Center offering some tips. I was just there. We're waiting on a call here, but if we don't get the call, we'll just talk about it anyway. I was recently at Espositos and I got a couple of bare root roses. And if you notice... Bare root roses will oftentimes be kept in some wet mulch, moist, not soaked, moist, just to kind of protect. But this is the time to plant bare root roses. If you have roses, this is the time that if you haven't already trimmed them back, you ought to because it stimulates growth in the canes that are down there lower. Now, we have a very fragrant rose garden. In our yard, I don't have them surrounding in like bunches. I have a single row of roses, probably about six to seven rose bushes and then another couple in a Graham Platner in our butterfly garden. And they're all fragrant. And what I can tell you about roses is, A, you've got to make sure they've got adequate sunlight. You've got to pay attention to overwatering as well as underwatering. There's kind of a sweet spot. And pruning roses, you try to keep them from growing inside each other to growing inside. You try to keep the plant somewhat airy. Now, there are some roses, and there are so many hybrid roses being made right now that are just next level. They are producing blooms all the time. There are climbing roses that are doing the same thing that are fragrant. And that's just, I want a rose that's fragrant. If it's a knockout rose, it better be fragrant. They're not a lot of those. Teacup, you know, tea roses or the full-sized roses. I'm a big fan of anything that's got a really great smell because we've got two Adirondack chairs and we have roses on either side. And we want to sit in those chairs and just smell the roses. See that? Did smell the roses. Yeah. And this is also the time of year to deal with citrus. And there's bare root fruit trees as well. This is the time of year to plant them because it gives them a chance to establish the roots without putting demands on the rest of the plant to grow. You're getting the roots in there in the ground and more stable temperature environment because that's what the ground offers. And by properly fertilizing, getting the right starter in there, you're going to give yourself the best chance of getting a good healthy tree. It might not produce a ton of fruit the first year, but if you've got the right tree and you plant it in the right conditions, you're going to end up being successful. I love gardening. Absolutely love it. I regret that it's so cold right now. It's tough to do some of the things I want to do. But I've always got things that I love doing in my yard because, I don't know, for me, gardening is something where I can look at and say I did that. And that I am so grateful to my mom because I was my mom's garden buddy from when I was about seven or eight years old.

I remember vegetable gardens growing carrots. Didn't grow many other things, some radishes. Didn't grow anything that was viny. And it was always small, but the rose garden, flowers, those things, man, gardenas. I still, I'm going to be putting some gardenias in my backyard like I have my roses in my backyard just to kind of remember my mom. Because they just, the smell of a gardenia just brings back great memories of gardening with my mom. And then my wife and I love hummingbirds and we love butterflies. And so we created an area in our backyard that deer can't get to. Because a lot of the flowers that butterflies and hummingbirds like deer like too. So we keep those behind the fence line. He walked down a residential sidewalk nearby, kind of hoping to find parents. And he couldn't find any parent. The pair couldn't have been older than two. He said they're simply adorable. He went door to door. Good Samarit eventually arrived. and found a couple at an Airbnb and didn't realize that the kids had wandered out. He never called the police. He said, that that wasn't important. It was important to find the family and to get everybody back together. The guy's employer, he works for a drone company that does Airbnbs and the beauty shots and all that of Airbnbs. Put out a social media post on the whole thing and said to drivers, slow the bleep down and bash the motorists who were honking at the little girls.
