Colossians 3, verse 16 says, Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly. Teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom. Singing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs with thankfulness in your hearts to God. A few years ago, I was... Hit with this little clip that I came across that said, what if the only things in your life today were the things you gave thanks for yesterday? What if the only people in your life today were the people you gave thanks for yesterday? Thankfulness is a state of mind that brings so much correction into our attitudes. And it brings so much alignment to our walk. So as you start your Friday... If you're listening to me, which you are, start your day with thankfulness. Take a moment and reflect on all the things, especially the things we take for granted. And be thankful.

3:10

Before we get to rolling out the start of the day, remember the annual Daddy Daughter Dance is coming up next Saturday at the moon. For those of you in Tallahassee, it's the 21st annual Daddy Daughter Dance. If you would like to learn more, they have two dances in early and a late, depending on your kiddo's age. Rotary DDDD Daddy DaughterDance.com. Rotarydddd.com is where you register and sign up. 10 past the hour. Inside the American Patriots Almanac, we go, and we are off Friday here on the morning show with Preston Scott. Thank you. It's the morning show with Preston Scott. Just telling Jose, my long-used headphones are giving up the ghost. You know what happened was back six months ago.

4:30

I left a volume control up and hit the play button on something that I was doing in doing production. And it just went, wham. And those of you that know anything about sound know that you can blow out a speaker, or in this case, a very small one that's inside a pair of headphones. And so I've had this progressively getting worse because I have such a... A manly set of dulcet tones. I, uh, I, my voice rattles the right ear of these, of these headphones. And it's driving me nuts. I've tried a, I've tried several pair of headphones. And even though I'm partial to the kind that do not sit on top of your head, but sit behind them, finding a pair that has the frequency range, the sound quality range that I want, because people that use their voice for a living are very, very particular about two things. The microphone. and the earphones. So it's just driving me crazy. And I'm sorry for whining. You're like, really? This is upsetting to you, is it? You remember that song you just talked about? That whole thankfulness thing? Oh, look, I'm thankful. I'm thankful that I can hear the rattling in my ear. Anyway, can you believe we're going to end the first month of the year already this weekend? Tomorrow is it. We're going to celebrate one of our kids' birthday on Sunday because it's February 1st. And then we are into the second month of the year, my friends. 30th of January. This is great. 1798, a brawl erupts in the U.S. House when Matthew Lion of Vermont spits on Roger Griswold of Connecticut after an exchange of insults. Why, you sir, are portly. I'd rather be portly than to be skeleton covered in skin. Oh, yeah? To you, too. Because that's what real men do. They just spit. We'll use that as a never mind. 1835, first presidential assassination attempt. Richard Lawrence, a mentally ill man tries to shoot Andrew Jackson in the U.S. Capitol. Shouldn't have used his name. Sorry. You know what? I'll make sure I don't do that again. I am going to put a mark right through his name. I don't know who he is. Some guy. 1847 California town of Yerba Buena is renamed San Francisco. Boy, maybe we had to just do that. rename it, rebrand it. Forget about San Francisco. I left my heart in Yerba Buena. Okay, it's not quite the same.

8:03

1862, the USS Monitor from the Union, Ironclad, launched it at Greenpoint, New York. Franklin Delano Roosevelt, born in Hyde Park on this date in 1882, and the first episode of the Lone Ranger is broadcast on radio station WXYZ in Detroit. Hi, Silver! Away! Oh, Kimosabi. Yes, Tonto? The old days of radio. Gotta love it. Let's see. What else do we have? Hey everybody, Lady Luck here, and we're celebrating America's 250th birthday. Now, all summer long, I'm going to be celebrating by playing on SpinQuest.com, which is an American-owned social casino. It obviously features over a thousand slot games and live blackjack, live craps, live bubble craps. Head on over to SpinQuest.com. Get yourself a $30 coin pack for just $10.00. SpenQuest is a free-to-play social casino. Avoid where prohibited. Visit SpenQuest.com for more details. This is good. National Escape Day. We're not talking prison. We're not talking jail. We're talking just... Now, here's what... This is dumb. They put it on the 30th. It needs to be the last Saturday of January. Because to say, yeah, I'm not going to work. I'm going to have my escape day. That's just dumb. Do it on a day that people can actually embrace it. And the idea is to just kind of push away from the norm, you know, like put some smelly stuff on and read a book or just stay in bed for the day and just rest. or binge watch something, just whatever. So that's what Escape Day is all about. National Fun at Work Day, come on, come on. Can you have more fun than we have? Can you have more fun than we have? National Big Whig Day and National Crescent Day, which is great if they're fresh. If the croissants aren't fresh, it just don't taste the same. A fresh butter crystal. 17 minutes past the hour. We come back. Newton's Lost Papers? Isaac Newton's Lost Papers. Little piece from Epic Times in their bright section. Newton wrote the most beautiful system. This most beautiful system could only proceed from the council and dominion of an intelligent and powerful being. What I have learned in reading this very lengthy article is that while we're all familiar with Newton,

11:09

observing the apple falling from a tree and coming up with the mathematical principles of natural philosophy, determining that the same force of gravity is what keeps planets in orbit, he actually may have written more about theology. than on scientific phenomenon and mathematics. He was a devout Christian, though defined in a slightly different way. He did not believe in the Trinity. He believed in God of the Bible, but he studied in multiple languages. and believe that Jesus was subordinate, though an eternal being, he believed that Jesus was subordinate to God the Father. Because of that, he would not take the oath to the Church of England, and because of that, he was in danger of losing his place, teaching at Cambridge, but he was so highly thought of. Because of his linguistic skills, he was fluent in multiple languages, including Latin and Hebrew, that the other professors talked the king of England into giving him a pass for being unwilling to take the oath. Because the oath required the acknowledgement of the Trinity at the time.

13:03

His papers after his death were acquired by his closest living relatives. Out of concern that the papers would offend the church, we're talking 1727, and damages scientific reputation, they kept the papers hidden. The majority of his papers remained hidden from view for nearly 150 years. In 1872, most of his scientific and mathematical papers were donated to the University of Cambridge, where they were cataloged and made available to scholars. The remainder, including those concerned with theology and biblical scholarship, remained private until they were put up for auction by Sotheby's in 1936. Now, now it gets real interesting. Most of his economic and mathematician papers, the scientific papers were acquired by John Keynes. Keynesian mathematic philosophy, a political economist. He's the guy that's behind deficit spending. Keynes' theories are the ones that Democrats hold as scripture. He's nuts. But. The other half of the papers were acquired by a Jewish scholar and linguist named Abraham Yehuda. And he got all of Newton's theological writings. When he died, those papers were donated to the Jewish National University and Library at Hebrew University in Jerusalem and were made public for the first time in 1952. The bottom line is Sir Isaac Newton believed in the God of the universe and that God created everything. And I bet you didn't know that. Fascinating stuff. We're going to try to untangle a mess here next. What's up, everybody? It's Bretzky. And America is turning 250. And I can't think of a better way to celebrate that than playing on an American-owned social casino, SpinQuest.com. With all of your favorite games, live craps, bubble craps, live blackjack, there's no better place to play for free and win real cash prizes. SpinQuest.com. SpendQuest is a free-to-play social casino. Boydware prohibited, visit SpendQuest.com for more to tells.

16:12

We will also have Florida man next hour and a lot of other stories. Friday is a really good day to just plow through some material. But I will confess to you here and now that trying to make sense of everything that's going on between the White House and Congress is really hard. Apparently, And this is a sentence that I'm struggling with. Trump and Chuck Schumer have reached an agreement on government funding. And what has been sacrificed as part of the funding is DHS. Not a shutdown, but their Democrats will not vote to fund the Department of Homeland Security. and because Trump believes that a government shutdown would be disastrous right now. Because even though there are a lot of parts of the economy that make no sense whatsoever, I mean, have you seen where gold is right now? You remember watching Gold Rush when the price of gold was like $1,200 an ounce? Apparently it's up over $5,000. It's just screaming.

17:36

Trump said we've got to get a deal done to fund government. And five of the other spending bills, Democrats said they'd vote for if we stripped out DHS and gave that separate treatment. President said fine. So they're going to negotiate on the Department of Homeland Security. It will continue with a continuing resolution. All right. But now here's where it gets interesting. Rick Scott of Florida is among Republicans who do not like the fact that there are earmarks packed into these spending bills. And so they're defectors right now. In fact... U.S. Senator Ted Budd, Ron Johnson, Mike Lee, Ashley Moody, Rand Paul, Tommy Tuberville, Rick Scott. All Republicans would not vote to advance a funding package because they don't like the nonsense nonsense packed into it. Additionally, they want the Save Act, voter ID. Now, that's where Ted Cruz gets in the midst of this. Ted Cruz is arguing right now to eliminate what's called the zombie filibuster. Apparently, there's this modern day provision that allows a filibuster without making somebody get up there and talk. He's saying, no, we've got to get rid of that. If someone wants to talk, they can talk. But they're going to have to do it. And so he wants to nuke the zombie filibuster so the Save Act can be passed because the filibuster can last only so long. It can be passed with 50 votes plus JD Vance. The Save Act is crucial. I'll be honest with you. I'm not a fan of ending the filibuster. I know the arguments for it. Here's my argument against it. Republicans are not going to have control at some point. And what goes around comes around. At the same time, Democrats are all but promising they're going to pack the Supreme Court. And.

20:28

They will end the filibuster. So I get the argument. Well, they're going to do it. So one argument out there is put an amendment in there, create a constitutional amendment that requires the filibuster to stay forever and requires the Supreme Court to stay at nine members. I told you this was complicated. Tom Homan announced yesterday that Tim Walz and Attorney General Keith Ellison have agreed to release detained, as in detainer, arrestees, criminals from prisons and jails that when their sentences are finished, they will be released to ICE. Holman held up the agreement. He said as long as they honor this, we'll do a drawdown. But he did a brilliant job explaining why you need so many ICE agents. Because he was asked, why so many? Well, because they're not helping us. And so instead of being able to go to the jail or the prison and just pick up a prisoner for deportation, we're having to go find him. And because of the inability of officials to stand up and say we're supporting the law and federal immigration agents, we have to go heavily armed with more bodies. Tom Homan was brilliant yesterday. Really, really proud of how he handled himself. 41 minutes after the hour. Those are the big stories. What?

22:34

Here's what I wrote on the rundown. Oh, come on. I bet you didn't know. I bet you didn't know. Unless you were reading some of the trades on like car and driver motor trend. In 2021, the infrastructure investment and jobs act was passed by the Biden administration put into law. Buried deep in section 24-220, which tells you something. 24,222. There is a provision in there that very, very few lawmakers debated. It directs the National Highway Traifty Take Two.

23:46

It directs the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to mandate, listen now, advanced drunk and impaired driving prevention technology in all new passenger vehicles. In plain terms, it requires systems that continuously monitor drivers and can prevent a vehicle from operating if impaired judgment is suspected. Here's the problem. No breath test is required. No police officer is involved. The judgment is made by software. Excuse me? It's a kill switch that's coming to all new vehicles. And it's coming, unless they change it, And it will, the software will decide whether or not you can drive without a warrant, without due process, with no way of guaranteeing to reverse the decision once it's made. Let me give you one scenario. One. Let's say you're injured.

25:22

and you're trying to drive yourself to help. Or maybe you're under attack, and you're trying to drive to get away. And the software detects that you're not staying within the lane, that you're driving just a bit erratically, and it shuts down your car. I know what some of you're thinking, oh, just call 911. Okay, we'll just let whoever's trying to kill me, kill me. But we'll call 911. This is, this is government overreach. Is it a problem having people drive drunk? Sure it is. That's not the way to handle it. Just letting you know it's there. It's going to happen unless Congress stops it. 47 minutes past the hour. That's why you listen. We keep you informed. We'll talk about some cheaters next hour. You know, the Olympics are coming up next month. Winter Olympics. Italy, I believe. Yeah. You know, I've got to admit, NBC has done a really good job teasing the Olympics. Really good job, but there's some controversy there. We'll get to that. Florida man next hour. Get you ready for what's the beef. And, of course, you'll be calling in in the third hour. You will be calling in, right? I mean, last week, we started this segment with zero calls. And I was like, what's going on, bro? And then all of a sudden, we couldn't fit them all in. So let's avoid that. Let's, you know. Let's get some people ready to go at the start of the hour so we can fit as many people in. And I don't have to tread water for three minutes waiting for people to call in. Because those are three minutes where we could take one, two, or maybe even three calls if you're succinct enough. We still need buddies for Night to Shine. The Tallahassee edition, Special Needs Prom, Tim Tebow Foundation. If you are 18 and older and willing to be a buddy. Now, a buddy is paired with one guest for the entire evening of night to shine. You provide companionship assistance. And you help them out. You just, you help them out. It is their special night. And you help them have an amazing prom experience. It'll be at Emmanuel Baptist Church Friday night, February 13th, 6 to 9 p.m. It's a really cool evening, and if you can help out, night to shine, tallahassee.com. Okay, sign up. Got a note here from Ray. We got to talking about the protesters being paid. He writes, you want to deal with the paid protesters? Simple. Let's track down the 1099 they were issued for their subcontract work.

29:05

If someone has paid more than $600 for services, they have to be issued one of these little nuggets. Oh, wait, your NGO isn't issuing 1099s? Great. We're shutting your bleep down for not reporting and tax evasion. And we're going to get OSHA involved if you're putting subcontractors and employees in dangerous situations where they can get shot, tear gassed, or flashbanged. Use the information you gather here and follow the money train both upwards and downwards. I don't care if it goes to the Tides Foundation to George Soros. They want to know what their money is being used for. If they know what their money is being used for, lock them up. All the direct actors who are organizing the protests. Jail! He goes on to write. Our organization is issuing 1099s. Great. Let's find out who's receiving them. Let's run facial recognition software and compare that to a list of names. You kicked a federal car. You impeded an investigation. You made death threats. Guess what? You go to jail. I'm good with law enforcement facing repercussions if they screw up in the heat of the moment, but I'm even more good with common citizenry. paying the price for their own plan transgressions and going out of their way to foment trouble. Well done, sir. If you have something you want to share, Preston at iHeartRadio.com. That is Preston at iHeartRadio.com. All right, we've got the third hour coming up in mere moments. So stick around. We're going to talk to you parents that have kids playing sports, but first we're going to talk about cheaters. and they're just north of the border. Hanging out at the pool is great. Relaxing and playing Vegas-style games on my phone at the same time. Drink in one hand and a blackjack in the other. It's all at SpinQuest. Over a thousand games including your favorite slots and table games. Be cool with this summer special. New players get $30 coin packs for 10 at SpinQuest.com. SpinQuest is a free-to-play social casino. Avoid where prohibited. Visit spinquest.com for more details.

31:45

All right, here we go. Second hour of the morning show with Preston Scott. It is show 5534. He's Jose. He'll be taking your calls at the end of this hour. Whatever you want to complain about it, it's what's to be Friday. It's very simple. If you're new to the program, it is where we just open up the phone lines and let you complain about anything you want. Later next hour, we will have the best and worst of the week in our personal worlds. Share some good news, really cool story, and then a dad joke and some headlines from the bee. I told you cheaters, and I said up north, north of the border, Canada. Oh, Canada. Oh, Canada. Listen to this. An investigation by the International Bob Slay and Skeleton Foundation. Federation, sorry, has found that Team Canada manipulated the outcome of the North American Cup in Lake Placid earlier this month. The actions denied American Olympian Katie Yulander a chance to earn enough points to qualify for the Milan Cortina Winter Games. After Team Canada withdrew four athletes, it reduced the amount of points the competition could award. The reduction made it mathematically impossible for Eulander to earn enough points to qualify. She is a five-time Olympian. She was trying to go to her sixth Olympic Games. What an achievement. However, because the Canadians cheated, she couldn't get enough points. Now, this point, this, this point, this points to how stupid the qualifying is. The Canadians say, it was determined that continuing to race these athletes was not in their best interests, nor the best interests of the program. However, One of the Canadian team members said the coaches said the reason for the withdrawal was quoting the best interest for the way points had worked. They'd come over and explain to us that it would be in the best interest for the way the points had worked for Jane so that we can as a team qualify for two spots in the Olympics.

34:18

And so the IBSF says, although Canada subsequently attributed its decision to order four athletes not to slide in official training due to concerns about the athletes involved, substantial evidence supports Ms. Eulander's contention that the move was a deliberate effort by Canada to reduce the points available at the final Lake Placid competition to protect its own Olympic quotas. But wait. They're not going to do anything about it. So the U.S. team member gets screwed and Canada gets to keep its athletes in. It said, although disqualification of an athlete and cancellation of results may have collateral impacts, the Olympic movement code. does not set out standards or means by which event records can be changed other than through sanctions. Simply put, barring an appeal to the United States or to the Olympic Committee, the International Olympic Committee, the IEOC, She's screwed because Canada cheated. Tell me in what world that's right. This is so simple. You cheated. Your athletes are going to get knocked the spot. This young lady, you're in. Problem solved. That's it. 10 past the hour. See, all the, all anyone needs do is bring the matter before the morning show with Preston Scott. We'll solve it. Weather, traffic, and the big stories in the press box. The fastest three hours in media. And don't be surprised if you have a chuckle here and there. Just like that. It's the morning show with Preston Scott.

36:39

I have suggested many times over the years that we need to go back to teaching kids how to cope with disappointment. That we award the ribbons for first and second and third place, maybe even fourth. during field day. That's what we called it when I was in grade school. It was field day and you entered all of these competitions and you got awards. You got ribbons and all that. And if you didn't, you got a pat on the back and some hugs for giving it your best. And if it bugged you, you got to work. on getting better or getting faster or getting stronger or whatever the required skill was. Winning matters. Learning how to lose matters. Allowing it to have its full effect so that if it's something you care about, you then do something about it. You don't cheat. You work on getting better.

38:07

Sadly, sports has another downside in its parents. And I'm going to go ahead and tell some of you, some of you, and, you know, if the shoe fits, some of you are rotten fans of your kids' sport activities. You're rotten. In fact, you're embarrassing and you're hurting your kids. And guess what? Surveying shows soon you won't have leagues to play in because coaches don't want to be around you and officials don't want to officiate. This story actually came out of ESPN. National Survey released by the U.S. Center for Safe Sport. corroborated a story done by the National Association of Sports Officials back in 2023 of 35,813 coaches and officials, and what they found is that Parents are the single biggest reason why coaches and officials don't want to participate and are quitting. Parents' negative attitudes. Unable to hold their children accountable. Abusive behavior, abusive language. One coach said, parents create tension, they instill distrust, they're worse than the children.

40:04

Hey guys, Lady Luck here. Are you going on any road trips this summer? I know I'm going to be going on a bunch of road trips. And being that I'm going to be passenger princess, I love playing on SpinQuest.com. SpinQuest has all of my favorite slot games, live blackjack, live craps. Head on over to SpinQuest right now and get yourself a $30 coin pack for just $10.00. SpinQuest is a free-to-play social casino. Avoid where prohibited. Visit spinquest.com for more details. And so coaching and officiating the joys of doing it for the love of the game and wanting to help kids learn a sport is being outweighed by, now, I don't want to deal with you. It reminds me of a story. Long time ago, I was asked by a group of parents to coach some kids and some basketball. And that came about because I coached some of these kids when they were far younger in flag football. And we had an awesome time. But the parents knew that my real background was basketball. And so they said, you know, we need someone to coach the kids in a summer league. And... We thought about you because our kids had a great experience playing for you. And we told the other parents who didn't have kids playing for you that we thought you'd do a great job. And I said, okay. And I said, but I'm going to meet with the parents first. So I met with all the parents, sat them down. And I said, here's the deal. You asked me to coach your kids.

41:56

I'm the coach and you're not. I'll have my staff. I'll put together a staff of volunteers just like me. I'm a volunteer. I'll arrange to make sure the kids can get in and practice and I'm going to run this. You're not. And if I find out that you guys are coaching in opposition to what I'm doing, and my assistant coaches are doing, we're done. You can take it. So it's that simple. And then what we're going to do is I'm going to sit down with the boys and I'm going to ask them, do you want equal playing time or do you want to win? Now, we might be able to win some games with equal playing time, and I'm good either way, just so the expectations are right. You're all paying a lot of money for these kids to play. I would imagine you want your kids to play. And if that's what the team decides, that's fine. But this is about helping them take ownership of it. It was a very successful time. Those boys won a lot of games. and they learn more importantly how to have fun and be a team. Sadly, it didn't carry over to their varsity season, but that summer we were great. WFLA at WFLA FM.com. On your phone with the IHardt Radio app and on hundreds of devices like Alexa, Google Home, Xbox, and Sonos, and IHart's radio station.

43:46

Well, if you read something insane, I probably did it. I'm a fodder for the blog, let's go ahead and Google my name. Presentation of the Morning Show. Now, there is no end to the sins I have committed. We got a Monroe County, Florida, charter boat captain Bradford Todd Piccarello, 65 of Marathon. Apparently, while fishing, he came across a bag or two of some cocaine. And my man decided that he was going to get into the drug business. and proceeded to try to sell $10,000 worth of Coke a kilo to investigators. They seized 23 kilos of cocaine. Found on board is 38-foot boat. $8,000 of cash, 40-Cal handgun.

45:09

The picture, it's like, dude, come on now. You know, it's just stupid. But this next story puts, this is, this is to me, the perfect Florida man story. No one's harmed. In terms of injured, there is a victim. Um, guy was ordered not to interfere when two masked men with a rifle and a zawsall, whatever that is, entered a home on November 30th in Orlando. Don't interfere, he was told, as he heard sounds of cutting. They cut through bike chains and wheeled out on the two bikes that were chained up. They wanted those bikes and they left the property. Video evidence led to 25-year-old Shamar Latrell Anthony. How were they so quickly able to apprehend this young man? Because Latrell previously visited the victim's home without a mask wearing the exact same clothing he wore when stealing the bike. This is just so good, good, good. So. Shamar Latrell. Shabar, is that you? Mask on. Shut up. You know what's good for you, stay inside. Is that you? Because you were wearing the same thing last time I saw you.

47:38

He tries away on the bike. He's probably thinking, they'll never catch us. That's just, that's Florida Man. That is just, that is the classic quintessential example of Florida Man, 27 minutes past the hour. Big stories in the press box are next. I have had no luck lately. Wait, lady luck? Brett Ski, I got you. I've had so much luck on SpinQuest.com. They have all of my favorite games, slot games, live blackjack craps, and bubble craps. You can even get a $30 coin pack for just $10.10 for $30. I'm headed over to SpinQuest.com right now. SpenQuest is a free-to-play social casino. Avoid where prohibited. Visit spendquest.com for more details. Oh, the fun doesn't stop here. Find more on his blog. WFLafm.com keyword Preston. Headline right now on the Fox News website, China-based millionaire accused of bankrolling far-left unrest in Minneapolis, part of the contingent. It's Neville Roy Singham. It's a name that is... becoming all too familiar to a lot of people. Um, he's, he's untouchable because he's, he's in China. China, China shields him. I think what you do is you, uh, next time he leaves the country, you grab him. Or you just, you create a situation where China has to give him up. But he's a bad dude. Tom Homan yesterday, we jipped some of his press conference. We just played about five minutes of it. End of the program. And he announced he reached an agreement with state officials. He said, what we did agree upon is not to release public safety arrests back into the community. They can be lawfully transferred to ice. It's a huge development. I'm going to make a prediction here. If Minnesota goes through with this and allows these illegals to be transferred to ice, they will then turn on Walls, Fry, and Ellison. The protesters will turn. Either you agree 100% with these types of people or you become the enemy. So we'll wait and see. Holman was very guarded in saying we have an agreement and as long as they live up to this agreement, there'll be a drawdown. We will have less officers here. He did a brilliant job. I explained this last hour. I want to do it again this hour. Because a lot of you have fallen into the trap of going, well, why so many? Well, it's because these are sanctuary cities and law enforcement has been told not to cooperate. In fact, they weren't responding to 911 calls from ICE saying, we need help right now. They weren't being allowed. You know, the police union has said,

51:31

Uh, yeah, they're, they're wrong. Minnesota, the mayor, the governor, they're wrong. The people that have made the communities of Minneapolis, St. Paul, and the suburbs unsafe are the government officials and the protesters. Holman said, look, in a normal situation, With a cooperating agency like the Sheriff's Office, Police Department, or Bureau of Prisons corrections in a given state, we're notified that somebody who has got a nice detainer is about to be released. We send a couple of agents. We wait and we pick them up and we transport them out. It's just that simple. But what happens when these people are released into the community is we now have to find them. And we will. And when we do, we now have a very different scenario. Instead of them being released from a prison or jail where they have no arms, where they have no accomplices, where they have no assistance, we're now dealing with uncertainties. We've watched it. We've watched these protesters use cars as weapons, armed. Some lady apparently had her, some protester had her fingers blown off when she decided to use a flash, throw a flash grenade back. It blew up in her hand. Okay. Oh, well. I mean, you know, I don't know what to say. Other than Tom Homan makes it perfectly clear, we have to then go in with too many people. meaning we have to have a show of force because we don't have anybody protecting us. We have to protect us. We have to come in prepared for any and all eventualities. So there's your answer. There's the answer to those of you that say, why are there so many? Why do they have to do it this way? Because the law, the legally elected officials are not following the law. And I'll say it again, they should have all been arrested. It is a classic case of what happened in the 1960s to black Americans. Their rights were being violated. Americans' rights are being violated. It's just a broader violation. Except that it's only in sanctuary cities and states, and it's only where Democrats are running things. It's the only, it's where it's all, that's it. That's it.

54:17

If only Republicans messaged properly, they could keep Democrats from ever winning another election. 40 minutes pass. What's the B-Friday? Disagree with me? What's the B-Friday coming up next hour? Forget to subscribe to the Conversations with Preston Scott podcast on the IHeart Radio app. Welcome to The Morning Show with Preston Scott. Research Assistant Supervisor Rob sent me a note here from Representative Andrew Clyde. Senator Raphael Warnock, being at Alex Prettie's vigil site was deeply moving, felt like standing on holy ground where Prattie's blood cries out, he said. Did he ever visit Athens, Georgia, the site where his actual constituent Lake and Riley was murdered by an illegal alien? Great question. We told you the story of Ilhan Omar's winery, alleged winery, had a value of $15,000 two years ago. In one year, it grew to $5 million. This, despite... And this according to her own congressional financial releases, her disclosures that she's required to give. So no phone line, no physical winery, no social media, a barely functional website, no wine.

56:17

So, well, what's going on? Well, guess what? It's gotten better. She has, since Benny Johnson disclosed the details, she deleted the site, she's deleted everything. She's got problems, and I love it. In this story, what's interesting is that it's probably some form of money laundering. But she's scrubbing everything she can or having it scrubbed. It appears as though that wineries are kind of a vehicle. California wineries in particular because Gavin Newsom got wealthy through some form of a winery in California as well. Her winery. is a California winery, allegedly, according to her E-S-T-C-R-U-L-C. Okay. Her third husband, Tim Minette, been accused of defrauding investors through the fake winery. He was sued by the investors for millions. Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison previously worked with him. He's the same AG who's refused to investigate fraud in Minnesota by Somalis. Interesting. One of the wine labels they allegedly made was called literally the devil's lie. Apparently it's part of a complicated little network here. set up by Ilhan Omar's third husband and a Democrat operative named William Haler. They met, listen, those two met, not Omar, but Minet, her husband, and William Haler, because they both worked for Keith Ellison when he was in Congress.

58:49

And apparently they've got a fraudulent cannabis business as well. So this is going to be interesting because I think they are investigating. Isn't it interesting how these riots have allowed the Somali case to fall off the radar? At least as far as publicity goes. But trust me, people are still looking. It's 46 minutes after the hour. She should be removed from Congress, denaturalized, and sent out of the country. All right, let's get you ready for what's to be Friday. The phone number is 850-205 WFLA, the capped one. Jose Ken, you see, is waiting for your calls. He's literally wearing now a cape. It was a poncho, sort of, kind of. I mean, it was, anyway, and now he's wearing it as a cape. And it's just too good. This is when I wish we were back on Facebook live and people could see you. But the phone lines are open, 850-205 WFLA. Let's take you on campus. Listen to this, the Duke Divinity School. We told you that Duke was founded as a religious school. And they have a school of divinity. And they're offering a course from baptismal font to queer theology.

1:00:36

They're exploring queer theology and whether theology can be queered. I'm reading quotes here. Examines and excavates queer in relationship to theology and theory. In the course description, it asked questions such as, is queer driven by identity politics? An umbrella term for sexual identity, gender identity. anti normativity politics, whatever, social locations, or is queer descriptive of something entirely different? Other questions to be examined include, does queer have an agenda? Secondly, this course seeks to answer the question of whether or not theology can be queered. What would that result if that is something that is possible? What is queer theology? Is queer theology even possible? According to the course page, students will develop strategies for asking questions in a way that broadens the discussion of queerness and theology for a productive intervention in the discipline of constructive theology seeking to hold faithfully to the intersecting realities of church, tradition, and scripture. School website says, grounded in Christian scripture and theology and guided by our desire to embody a faithful witness in a changing world, we seek to cultivate innovative approaches to ministry in its many forms. What could possibly go wrong? But we're not done. On campus, the University of California, Davis. UCal Davis, the LGBTQIA Resource Center, yes, that's the title, has hosted an event, join us for menstrual mutual aid, a hands-on workshop, no thank you, that centers on the experience of non-sysmensurators. while promoting sustainable, inclusive menstrual and pelvic care in alignment with menstrual health and awareness day. There is no such thing as menstrual aid or need for a non-ciss menstruator because there is no such thing.

1:03:22

This is what's happening on college campuses. One allegedly Christian. One, absolutely not. Both praying on young minds and trying to justify the abnormal. There's the intersection. I think that ought to do. What's to be Fridays next? Whatever you want to complain about is fair game. It can be big. It can be little. It can be important only to you. It's 850-205 WFLA. 850-205-93-52. Call down. Happy birthday, America. It's time to celebrate and play your favorite Las Vegas casino games by American-owned SpinQuest.com. What's better than fireworks and American pie? Hitting a black check in the palm of your hand, and you won't lose your fingers. Over a thousand games, including slots and live dealers. And $30 point packs are on sale for 10. SpinQuest.com. Buy American players for American players. SpendQuest is a free-to-play social casino. Avoid where prohibited. Visit SpenQuest.com for more to tell. All right, we got one line open, so I'm going to take it right now. Hearing Chuck Schumer's soundbites saying, Ice agents, masks off.

1:05:03

so your people can dox them and threaten them and terrorize their families and children, I'll make you deal. Clantifa takes all of its masks off and then we'll talk about it. 8502. Sorry, 85025 WFLA. It is what's the beef. If you've never joined us for this segment, hang around. You'll love it. We have two rules. Sort of three. No profanity. Don't make it personal. If you have a bad experience at a business, tell us about it, leave the name of the business out of it. And don't monologue. All right? Kind of like the movie The Incredibles. He's monologing. No, no monologuing. Get to it. And remember, make everything a beef. Jason, you've been waiting the longest. Thanks for calling in. What's the beef? Oh, good morning. So on the way to work this morning, my son showed me a Facebook post about anti-ice. And after long thought and discussion, I finally agree. I should leave. We should get ice out of here. I hate it on my windshield in the morning. I hate it on my grass. The weather's just making it come in, but I don't know how to protest the weather to get rid of ice. How do we do that, Preston? Right. And I mean, I'm sitting here with a drink that has ice in it, and I don't know what to do. It's just too much. But the funniest thing, I'll make it quick, is if you read about all of the transgender men in Minnesota getting frostbite in certain places because they're protesting too much during the day and it's too cold, that's hilarious. Thank you, Jason. Well done. 850-205 WFLA. We've got two lines open now. Come on. Grab it. Let's go. Let's go. Greg, you're up. What's the beef? The connection between Brendan Carr, Jimmy Kimmel, and Stephen Colbert. Yes, this is going back to Clay and Buck last Friday. Their interview with Brendan Carr, he reminded everyone that Jimmy Kimmel, Jimmy Fallon, and Stephen Colbert... And the maniacal menopausal mob, known as the panel on the view, are on broadcast TV, not cable TV. So when they bring in a Democratic candidate, they also must bring in the Republican opponent. And both of them, Stephen Colbert and Kimmel reminded us of 2025 when, quote, I was forced off the air to approve the Paramount Skydance merger, and Kimmel. Disney kicked out to violate my free speech rights. I'd like to revisit the book of Romans chapter 2 verse 12 about opening your mind, but I don't want to mind long. Take it easy. Thank you, sir. Appreciate that. Way to drop the verse in there and then roll on. See, that was definitely done. I appreciate it. We got a line open 850-205 WFLA. Ray, you are up, sir. What's the beef? I want to talk about the juxtaposition of queerness and scripture. And, oh, my goodness, I thought my head was going to explode when you were reading that course catalog on that Duke University. Did you pick up, did you pick up on why I did it right before What's the Beef?

1:08:30

Absolutely. I mean, and this is what they do. This is put a bunch of $10 words in there, but Preston, because this isn't about a homosexuality. This is the queerness. This is that anything goes. It's what I've been saying for years with the whole transvestite movement. Misery loves company, and they know what they're doing is wrong, and the only way they can feel better about themselves. is to get more people to do it. It's like a huge pyramid scheme to them. Let's get more people to do it. And Duke is falling right into the trap of trying to justify their behavior. Do you think that's why Coach Kay actually retired? You'll have a great weekend. Thank you, Ray. You're the best, buddy. So good to hear your voice. And you know what I mean. I appreciate it. 850-205 WFLA. Clint is on deck and we have three lines open. 850-205 WFLA. We still have three lines open.

1:09:46

Come on. Come on, Ruminators. Let's go. It's what's to be Friday on the morning show. Traffic, weather, sports, entertainment, and the truth. The morning show with Preston Scott on News Radio 100.7. WFLA. 850-205 WFLA. It is What's the Beef Friday, a Friday tradition. We've been doing it. Well, let's see. For 23 and a half years, we've been doing What's the Beef Friday, maybe a little bit less than 23.5, maybe 23 and a quarter. But it's your chance to complain about whatever's on your mind, and we have three lines open, but Clint is standing by. Good morning, Clint. Welcome, What's the Beef. Good morning, sir. Yeah, so I'm a member of a local gym here in Tallahassee that's up northeast side. Okay. And I'm trying to keep myself fit every morning, and I come out, and there's this new restaurant that has moved in, and man, they are putting out some awesome bacon smells. That makes... May I keep myself fit in the morning a little more difficult. I just wonder if they did that, put that restaurant there on purpose to gain more customers from the gym. How often have you gone over there? Oh, man. I haven't tried it yet, but I heard it's really good. Okay. Second beef real quick and let you go. Up on the Capitol Circle Northwest, DOT's done a bunch of cleaning of all their little stormwater ponds on the highway exchange right there. But yet they left all kinds of garbage all over the place. I wish they'd come and clean that up, so it looks nice again. Anyway, happy Friday to you. See you later. Hold on, hold on, hold on. So they sent Cruz? No, he left me. Dude, I hope you're listening to this on delay. So they sent crews. They trashed it after they allegedly went to straighten it all out. That's bad. All right. Let's go to Stephen. Stephen, you are up. What's the beef? It's about hospitals, really. The free kill law for the elders needs to be done with over. You know what? It sucks to be bored. But when I get on my phone and play real casino games on SpinQuest.com, the time flies by. That two-hour wait at the DMV seems like 10 minutes. Play your favorite slots. Live blackjack, live craps with a live dealer. New players, $30 coin packs are on sale for 10 bucks. Play SpinQuest.com and you'll never be bored again. SpinQuest is a free-to-play social casino. Avoid where prohibited. Visit spendquest.com for more details. Wait, run that by me one more time. The Florida free kill law needs to be done and over with. They need to do away with it. They're literally ordering elder patients and getting away with it. What is the free kill law? That's why I called about it. Not a lot of people know. Well, what is it? Because I don't know that there's a law called that. If you have a parent and you're over a certain age.

1:13:16

You can't do anything as far as suing a hospital for wrongdoing or neglect or anything like that. And we are currently dealing with that situation. It's already happened two years ago. Okay. And nothing can be done against anybody at the hospital because the person we're dealing with, his wife has already passed away, so there was nobody there. I don't fully understand it because it doesn't make sense to me. Do me a favor. Send me some information about this. Give me the state law that you're referring to. Because I do have an ability to make some inroads on some things and ask some questions. I'd love to see more about this. And I will protect your name and identity. But I would love to know as many particulars as you're willing to share about the specifics of this case. All right. My wife knows a lot about it. I'm still trying to fix her out. Yeah. If you could just have her send me like bullet points, not like long paragraphs, but just break it down for me. Preston at iHeartRadio.com, Stephen. Who knows? Maybe something good will come out of this phone call. And that, you know what? It's happened. We have had over the years circumstances where people have called in about something that was pretty serious. And I was trying to figure out what, because when you say the free kill law, okay. I know what you're after now. I get it. But referring to it by what it's called is a little more useful to me. But I understand why you're a little sour about it, and I would be too. I would be as angry as I'm sure it seems like the people involved here are and rightfully ought to be. Neglect is neglect. It doesn't matter what the age is. The value and sanctity of a human life starts a conception and it ends when the life is over. And then we still have laws demanding that we treat a body that is deceased with certain care. That's a law too. So send me the intel, Stephen. It's Preston at iHeartRadio.com. All right, we've got three lines open, 850-205 WFLA. One segment left. I can guarantee four calls, but only if I've got four calls ready. What's to be Friday on the morning show with Preston Scott?

1:15:54

LA. On your phone with the IHeart Radio app and on hundreds of devices like Alexa, Google Home, Xbox, and Sonos. And free. And IHearts Radio Station. Well, we got two lines taken. Two lines are open, so... We'll do our best here. And if not, I'll start whistling. 850-205 WFLA. Tim, thanks for calling in, buddy. What's the beef? Oh, good morning. My beef is with Tallahassee drivers. I don't know if they're not giving a driving test anymore when they hand out license. I was leaving Killarne the other day on the main road towards Thomasville Road. I mean, it's well divided. There's a huge park in between the end and out, and I'm going out, and here's two cars coming down the wrong way, straight at me. And I slammed on brakes, and fortunately, they realized what they did, and they made U-turns and went back. And then literally the very next day I was turning out of Killarne, and there's a car going northbound on Thomasville Road turning left on the McLeague. And when they started to turn, they tried to drive down the exit side. Fortunately, there were cars in all the lanes, so they couldn't, so then they swerved and got the right way. it probably justifies the woman who called about why they were painting arrows on the road. That may be the answer to her question, but I tell you, it's driving me crazy with the people doing this kind of driving. Tim, thanks very much. I appreciate the phone call. Hope you feel better getting it off your chest. We go to Gunny Gunny, standing by. How are you, sir? Welcome. What's the beef? Hello, dear President. How are you doing? Great. Hey, my beef is murdering police officers. The statute of limitations on murder, there is none. And I'm wondering why the murdering cop of Ashley Babbitt is not being prosecuted. They found, they promoted him. I realize that. He's a sergeant. Yeah. I think they promoted him from sergeant to lieutenant, if I'm not mistaken. Yeah, I'm not sure what they did other than I know they promoted the guy, but they declined to prosecute. So. I can't, I don't have an answer for your question, but, they're threatening to prosecute the, uh, the, uh, ice agents in Minneapolis after, uh, the Democrats take control of, uh, of the White House. And, uh, we have control of the White House right now. And I don't know why we're not doing that. Prosecuting Michael Byrd. That's a great question, and it's one we've asked an awful lot because what he did violated every protocol that exists inside law enforcement, every single one. John, thanks very much for calling in. What's the beef? Good morning, Preston. Thank you for what you do. My beef is with the so-called virtuous people who are out defending their so-called neighbors stirring chaos.

1:19:12

If they'd spend a half of that energy on doing some actually productive and actually good, like really looking out for somebody. Right. But mind you, these are the same people that cheerleaded when Charlie Kirk was assassinated. They cheerleaded when President Trump was almost assassinated. They've... When the Mangione, the guy that shot the health care CEO, they cheered and they're raising their money and defending him, which is along the lines of what they do. They defend the predators and the criminals, and they try to tear down people that are trying to keep everybody else safe. But anyway, I feel better now. Thank you, sir. Absolutely. Thank you, John. Appreciate it. Final caller here belongs to Bob. Bob, how are you? What's the beef? Good morning, Preston. Thank you for what you do. My beef is this, is that the Tallahassee is the capital of the third or fourth largest state in the union. Right. And we have horrible, horrible air service. Just horrible. Just we have two commercial airlines, and that's it. That's my beef. Why do you think that is? Well, obviously, supply and demand. Yep. But you would think just having two, only two. I mean, Panama City isn't as big as us. And, you know, when they have, what, four different carriers, why can't we get United back in here? I mean, we're not Jacksonville. We're not Orlando. But we could do a little better. No, we could do a lot better. I don't disagree. I know they're trying their best, and I know they've tried a lot of different formulas. They've tried incentivizing. I don't know if the landing fees are still the issue that they once were, but that'll be something that I'm certain is addressed by Steve Stewart at Tallahasse reports. He follows what's going on at the airport and does so diligently. All right. Thank you for calling in. Breaking news. Don Lemon. becomes fourth suspect arrested over anti-ice church protest. Oh, he's going to have a field day with this. This is going to make him a martyr. You watch, the view's going to be all over it. It's going to be everywhere. And he is going to milk it to the core. I hope they have a case. It's all I'm going to say. I hope they have a case. The news is next when we come back the best and worst of the week on the morning show.

1:21:49

New users get $30 coin packs for just $10. All the table games you love with hundreds of slot games and real cash prizes. That's at SpinQuest.com. SpinQuest.com. SpinQuest is a free-to-play social casino. Avoid where prohibited. Visit SpenQuest.com for more details. Started counting shows at the beginning because we weren't sure how long he'd last. Now we're just proving to everyone that we can count. This is the morning show with Preston Scott. after the hour past. All right, here we go. It's time for the best and worst of the week. And Jose, you're up. All right. Well, I'm going to go with the worst first. And this is heartbreaking. It's not your choir robe because you're styling it, buddy. Thank you, sir. This is heartbreaking for me. Uh-oh. I'm learning that I can. safely consume only three bars of Hershey's cookies and cream. Oh no. A year. A year. Hey, quick reminder of what we talked about earlier in the week for those that have no idea what you're talking about. Right. Oh, yeah. So the Florida's health department has done some studies on candy. They were searching for heavy metals and they found arsenic instead in some candy. A lot of candy. A lot of candy. Yeah, yeah, a lot. And quantify this with the Hershey's Cookies and Cream. Just how many bars are you allowed to have? Oh, boy. If you're an adult, you're only allowed three, excuse me, three bars a year for safe consumption. If you're a child, it's a bar and a half. There are candies that are safe that don't have arsenic, but, yeah, and you got toasted on that list, didn't you? Not much. Yeah, I'm, yeah. You're pretty much in trouble. Okay, so that was your worst of the week. And my best for the week, I had to switch it up because you did something that I thought was hilarious and it made me L.O.L. Your impression of Chuck Schumer. That was excellent. That was really funny. I almost died over here. All right. My worst of the week is that my deer encounter is now, it's now escalating. For those who that don't know, my car got hit by a deer. Yes, the deer hit me. And hit me on the side and they tore away the bumper to make sure they had all the damage figured out and it revealed twice the damage. So the estimate is just spiraling because there was far more damage underneath than what was originally thought. And it's proving to be a, my body shop's amazing. My man is awesome. Locally, I use competition, paint and body, Darrell McMullen, good friend, and loves Jesus. And they did great work there. And it's just,

1:25:20

It's the other stuff that we're having to deal with if you know what I mean. You know what I mean? Best of the week, though, is a tie. It's a tie, even though one of them hasn't happened just yet. But I'm going to do a little PA introduction of the seniors at their senior night for Community Christian School tonight. I was asked if I'd be willing to, you know, come out and do the introductions of the seniors on their special night for their final basketball game. I said, absolutely. I'd do it. And then I'm going to be part of the live stream of the game on, I guess, YouTube live. Now, they're just going to set a camera up and then a guy on the team that's injured and can't play. Apparently, he and I are going to just sit and talk about the game. And so I've got a roster, and I'm going to have some fun with that. The other that's the best of the week is I was supposed to get some tree work done back in the late summer, early fall, trim back the canopy and take care of a couple things. This didn't get done. And so I had to make a change.

1:26:45

pulled out my checkbook and field or tree service came out yesterday and just killed it you know some of you know what i'm talking about when you get a good tree company and they know what they're doing it's like an orchestra it's like a symphony watching how they coordinate and do their thing and they were dealing with vines and they were dealing with dead trees and they were dealing with trimming back the canopy and it was just magic And my wife drove home yesterday after seeing the kids and, well, some of the kids and the grandbabies. And she drove up and she goes, the place looks immaculate. Like, yeah, you can't even, I mean, other than the dreaming of the canopy, which is very obvious and I'm really excited about because I'm going to get some sun on some parts of my lawn that didn't have any. They left the place just perfect. It was incredible. You'd like, they brought heavy equipment there? Oh, yeah. Absolutely. So, well done. 40 minutes past the hour. Being told what to believe by the liberal media, get a refreshing dose of truth. It's the morning show with Preston Scott on News Radio 100.7, WFLA. You all ready for this? Oh, wait, I'm late. Sorry. Back Monday, Sal Nuzzo, week three of the legislative session, we'll be in the rearview mirror. We'll look ahead to week four. And Dr. Joe Camps, of course. We've got a topic already picked out. There is some growing controversy on those fat shots. There are some concerns. And in fact, there are some significant lawsuits coming. One thing I've learned, you start on them, you have to stay on them pretty much the rest of your life. Every single person that I know of and have read about that used them lost weight dramatically and then stopped, gained it all back. Not sure I want to go that route. I need to lose some pounds. lost some and then I've just stayed and now I'm yeah I got I got to lose some weight but I'm not doing that I'm just I know oh but they work preton mm-mm not if I've got to be hooked on a drug the rest of my life. No, I'm sorry. I just, I, that's a personal conviction if that works for you and, and cool, good, good for you. But I, no, but Joe and I are going to talk about, I shared with some, some information with them. We're going to talk about that Monday. So I think that's going to be, that's going to be good. We might spill that over into a little longer segment. But we'll, we'll see. Every Friday we try to do some good news. And this is a really, this is just one of those stories that you go, okay, they're good people out there. There's something else that really stood out with me about this, stood out to me about this story. Nevada City, California. Apparently there's a Nevada County. A guy found several personal possessions in his front yard.

1:30:19

They didn't belong to anybody in his home. And there was some loose cash. $6,200 in some change. And so the guy, the guy reached out to the sheriff's office and said, hey, we've found this stuff. It doesn't belong to us. There's a large amount of cash. And the guy who owns the property, it had been in a satchel, but it was left unsecured. And so while he was walking home, you know, it's jostling up and down and it worked its way out. It fell out. He had no idea. It had fallen out. And he retraced his steps after he realized that, you know, his money and other items were gone, couldn't find it. And so they reached out to the sheriff's office and said, if by any chance, and their sheriff said, well, you'll never believe it. Somebody found your money, and they turned it in. Guy was blown away. Here's what I love, though. First of all, that's someone, that people do that, right? That's not mine. Well, finders keeper. It's not yours. Sheriff's office, the good Samaritan serves as a reminder that doing the right thing doesn't require recognition. Only compassion and the willingness to act. In a moment when it mattered most, he stepped up and showed how small choices can make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. To that guy, that's his bills. That's everything. And you can pick at what, what's he doing carrying a cat? Look, everyone, that's up to him. There was nothing illegal about him having the money. There was nothing, you know, bad about it all. But here's the thing I wanted to note, not just the act of the guy, but think about the words that were chosen to describe him. The good Samaritan. Where's that found? Yeah. You know, we talk about how Benedict Arnold is a name always remembered for being a traitor. Wouldn't it be great to be remembered as being a good Samaritan? 47 minutes past the hour. That's good news on the morning show with Preston Scott. We've reached the end of the road. That is the final week of the month of January. Monday. We begin a new road down the month of February. Can't wait. Cann't wait. This is that time of the show. We do a dad joke. Ready? What do you get when you cross an 80s hair band with a fish? Bon Jovi. Bon Jovi. Bon Jovi.

1:34:05

I'll be here all next week. Time for some headlines from our source, your source, our source for satire. These are headlines from the Babylon B. Minnesotans begin fleeing to Somalia to escape violence. Frustrated Don Lemon wonders, what a guy has to do to get sent to a men's prison. WNBA players vow to continue missing layups until ICE withdraws from Minnesota. Tim Walz says he will do anything to keep Minnesota residents safe except cooperate with federal law enforcement.
