A little better start than it was yesterday when I screwed up. Hey, good morning and welcome. Tuesday. April 28th on the morning show with Preston Scotcho 5591. We will get to this date in history in mere moments. He's Jose. I am Preston. And our verse today, we're going to go where we are now studying in our church, Galatians 1. And again, Paul is writing to the churches of Galatia. And I want you to notice a theme here. In verse 6, he says, I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting him who called you in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel. Not that there is another one, but there are some who trouble you and want to distort the gospel of Christ. But even if we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preach to you, let him be accursed.

2:38

As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be accursed. Is there any ambiguity in what he's saying? Is there any doubt in what Paul's warning? The Church of Galatia about. False doctrine. People taking liberty, pulling out pages, saying, you know, God, what, you know, God, come on. Does that old guy know? Does it apply to the modern Galatia? What are we talking about here? Come on. Nope. There's a warning throughout the New Testament of false doctrine. And it is something I've spent a lot of time on lately on this program. And to that end, I want you to go to my blog page. I am going to give you, courtesy of this, an American of Iranian descent, has a channel on YouTube. touches on a lot of different things. But he's zeroed in on this interview with a guy who wrote a book about Islam and America. And in this 20 to 25 minutes, you will get one of the most succinct, best, deep dives into the truth and history of How it all started. Would you be shocked to know that in multiple hadiths, Muhammad is described as a white man? That Muhammad was likely a white European. And as I have told you repeatedly, borrowed from this faith and borrowed from that faith and borrowed from that faith and in essence created something that justified his own actions and his own set of beliefs the history is there it's it's it's out there and and i say that because i think it will help you in your embrace of the Bible. To learn about, one of the reasons why I went on this journey and spent about eight years studying the different religions and cults and different things that are out there is to better understand what separates Christianity from all of it. It helped me embrace God's word more clearly. So just a suggestion. Check out the blog. It's the latest blog entry. And I think it will matter. I think it will help you an awful lot. It's 10 past the hour. Let's get into the American Patriots Almanac. Look at this state in history next here on Tuesday on the morning show with Preston Scott.

6:24

Morning show with Preston Scott. They're going to get a... I'm just... We... We... Knock, knock. Who's there? On WFLA. 11 past the hour, the morning show with Preston Scott. I'm going to work backwards here. Inside the American Patriots Almanac, his name belongs, and so he has written in. He is written in because it was on this date in 1997 that Grant Allen was born. Grant Allen, former producer, occasional fill-in host, designated host, the D.H. Of the morning show with Preston Scott, born on this day, he's 29. I sent him a text this morning. I said, you are a young man for one more year. Then it hits. Oh, my back. Let's go to 1965, fearing that communists might gain power in the Dominican Republic. Lyndon Johnson sends U.S. forces to the island to help end a civil war. 1952 U.S. post-World War II occupation of Japan ends.

7:48

1817, the U.S. and Great Britain agreed to limit naval forces in the Great Lakes region, providing for an unfortified U.S. Canadian border. You never would have thought the Great Lakes would be a place of warfare between the U.S. and Britain, but it was. 8, sorry, 1788, Maryland becomes the seventh state to ratify the Constitution. And it was on this date in 1958 that James Monroe was born in Westmoreland County, Virginia. I'd be shocked if Crane Allen didn't know that. He's a history nerd. He probably already knew that. Today is National Superhero Day. Who's your favorite superhero? Batman? Because? He is not, you know, a cheater. You know, all the other ones got superpowers. He's just very intelligent, got some money, knows how to fight. Very honorable. Okay, okay. Fair enough. Fair. Which version of Spider-Man do you like? The version that's trotted out there that shows he got bit by a spider. and then developed all of these weird biotoxin things from this genetically modified spider and shoots webs out of his hands or the dude that has these gadgets that he go foo foo and he shoots i like your spider bite version yeah me too yeah i'm i'm definitely definitely favor that one i have always been Though he's not a Marvel guy, I've always liked from just a moral perspective, the Superman character from DC Comics, because that's who he is. He, his, his facade is just being an average guy. But deep down, He's Superman. Unlike every other superhero. He's the man. He is the Superman. You know, Batman defeats the Superman? That's a script. That's just a script. In real life, Superman is Superman. In real life, Batman's Bruce Wayne. In real life, Spider-Man's Peter Parker. You see where I'm going here? Clark Kent in real life is Superman. See, he's the only one. That's all I'm just saying. Today is National Superhero Day. It is School Bus Driver Appreciation Day. I wonder how soon before we start seeing an end to school buses since so many parents don't allow their kids to ride a school bus. National Blueberry Pie Day. National Great Poetry Reading Day. So there you go. Today, Dr. Irwin Jackson will join us in the second hour, about 45 minutes from now. Talk about his book, Fighting the Commission of Corruption in Florida's Capital City. And I lived part of this book.

11:31

I lived part of it. But this is a great read. Whether if you're if you're from the capital city area, absolutely. But even if you're not, this is a great read because it is a blow by blow of how one guy took on a city commission that was corrupt and how big that web of corruption really was. So we're going to talk about the book. I've got a link on my X page for you to buy it if you want to get it on Amazon. More to come on the morning show with Preston Scott. Okay. I'm looking at the rundown of the show today. It resembles a little bit of what I was hoping to accomplish yesterday. Obviously, Irwin Jackson coming in. It's going to be like getting the band back together. I played a very small role in the fight against corruption. Former mayor tried to get me fired. I got flipped off. I was in a parade and a sitting commissioner flipped me the bird from the sidewalk. Another mayor called me a bleep head. I was, and I was spoken of kindly compared to Dr. Jackson. They hated him. Oh, man. And Steve Stewart of Tallahassee reports. But, yeah, Irwin only got one thing wrong in his book at the end. It was meaningless. It just, yeah. But other than that, it was the book itself is, is it. For me, it was like reliving a period of time in this radio program's history. And so it'll be fun to talk with Dr. Jackson. Getting him to narrow this down into three segments, though, good luck to me. We're going to hopefully just get you to just, whoa, and go get the book because you won't believe it. I mean, the FBI, the wiretaps, it's just, I mean, midget strippers. I'm not kidding. It's incredible. It really is. It's a story that you're like, what? Yeah, yeah, it is that. But I decided, you know, today we're going to, we're going to cover a lot of material. We got money talk. We got a mainly minute, but we got a lot of different material. But I just thought we needed something that was kind of a little lighter here. I don't like starting the show. That's the one complaint I did here. about our fill-in is just jumping out at 6 a.m. with hardcore, no, no, no, no. We ease into the show for the most part. Maybe a couple times a year we dive on in, but we ease ourselves into the show. I came across this and it just made me laugh. I thought it was really good. And I thought it was very insightful in a funny way.

15:23

It's a guy called The Bowtie Comedian. His name's Mike Goodwin. You might have seen him on YouTube clips. He's got a channel. And he's doing a little bit of a stand-up thing. And he has this to say. My grandma says the only two things in life that you worry about. Whether you're healthy or whether you're sick. If you're healthy, you're got nothing to worry about. But if you're sick, whether you're going to get better, whether you're going to get worse. You get better. You ain't got nothing to worry about. But if you get worse, you got two things to worry about. Whether you're going to live, whether you're going to die. If you live, you ain't got nothing to worry about. But if you die, you don't. Whether you're going to heaven, whether you're going to hell. If you go to heaven, you don't have nothing to worry about. But if you go to hell, you got two things. Original or extra crispy.

16:51

You only got two things to worry about. Just simplified view of life. I loved it. Loved it. Absolutely loved it. And when it was all said and done, he had a very good point to consider. When you die, you got two possibilities. The only difference is there is no original and extra crispy. You know, someone said that hell is best described as forever being separated from the presence of God. Because here on earth, God's presence is around us. His spirit is around us. It may not be, you know, as active depending on where you are and what you're doing and how you're walking, but God is around us. Evil is held at bay to a certain extent. But, yeah. So just something to kind of laugh at and also consider here this morning. Come back with the big stories in the press box next on the morning show with Preston Scott. L-B-T-E-N-B-Z. If you have anything you want to share, it's Preston at iHeartRadio.com. Simple as that. Remember, we have Dr. Jackson's calling me on the phone. I wonder if he's here. Hang on a second. I'm going to text him and tell him. Hold on here. Hold on here.

19:48

Maybe he's here. I don't know. Could be here. He's an early riser. He's at that stage in life where he's getting up early. Maybe. I don't know. But what was I talking about? I don't remember. See that my phone ringing in the middle of my introduction to this segment. You heard in the national news there. President's not happy with the offer from Iran. Well, I wouldn't be either. They're saying, okay, let's work a deal. You stop the embargo. We open up the Strait of Hormuz. I'm sorry, it's not yours to open or close. The Strait of Hormuz is an international waterway. This is where... I think there needs to be a real clear understanding. And this is where, you know, like Germany, instead of throwing petty little shots at America saying, America being humiliated. Oh, shut up. A bunch of losers. Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Great Britain. All these nations need to just step up and say these are the UN. These are international waterways. You don't have a say on that. What you're doing is illegal. But they're saying, in essence, we'll strike a deal on these matters and we'll negotiate on the nuclear stuff later. No, we won't negotiate later. We're going to reach an agreement now. So we'll see where that goes. And then I love this. More time on this next hour. The suggestion actually came a year ago or so from comedian Adam Carolla, who's a conservative, changing the name of Immigration's Customs Enforcement ICE to the national immigration customs enforcement. And just turning the left livid. Think about it. Now we would have some nice agents. Who do you work for? Nice. It just President Trump's out there saying do it. Love it. It was posted by some guy and it went viral. It actually, the idea actually originated from Adam Carolla, who, um, But Trump's out there saying, great idea, do it. I think it's wonderful. Go ahead. The left would be perfect within their world to be protesting against Nice. If that isn't a perfect tee-up, I don't know what is. Back with more.

23:11

Still serving as the mayor of Realville and dispensing information at the speed of sound. It's the morning show with Preston Scott. It's Tuesday on the show. And lots of things in the news to talk about. We've got animal stories coming up on today's show as well as a manly minute. This is an interesting development. Ilhan Omar's husband has shut down. His winery. Huh? Now, why would that be? If you don't recall the story, the financial disclosures that Ilhan Omar turned loose for the last year showed a staggering increase in valuation. Financial Disclosure Forms filed show the winery being being worth as much as $30 million from initially being worth $51,000. So from 2023 to $20,000, so from $203,000 to $2024,000 to as much as $30 million.

25:13

You might recall we looked up the winery. It doesn't have a website. It doesn't have a location that anyone can tell. It has this incredible value. And that allegedly the stake that her husband has in this was worth between $1 million. which is a significant jump from her disclosures a year before that said 15 to 50,000, 15,000 to 50,000. She said, oh, it was an error, an accounting error. Well, all I know is he has shut down the winery. Huh. Well, I mean, first of all, doesn't he just own a stake of it? How is it that he's shutting it down when he's just a partner? This is, in a way, this is not all that different than what we were dealing with here in Tallahassee.

26:30

See, the local elected officials made the mistake of being jerks. Not just greedy, but being jerks. They might have gotten away with it had they not been jerks. I don't know if Dr. Jackson will agree with that summary, but had they not poked him in the eye, they might have gotten away with it. But because they were jerks about it, and that's what happens. These people in Washington, they're just jerks about it. They think we're stupid. Nancy Pelosi, filthy, rich, since becoming a member of Congress. The luckiest investor on the planet is her husband, and we're not supposed to conclude that he's not operating with insider information? I mean, there are investment accounts set up to mirror what Nancy Pelosi's investing in. Whatever they're investing in, this index fund. selects the same stocks, albeit 30 to 60 days later, because we don't have the information they have. But they've outperformed the Wall Street average by just some insane, staggering percent over the course of their lifetime. It's insane. A bunch of cheaters. It's also why... to just kind of pull a few things together here, put a bow on it. It's also why when we have parts of our government where people are working hard and doing their job not getting paid, they should not be paid. If you're not funding the people that are showing up and doing their job, you're not getting paid. You watch how things change if Congress isn't getting paid. Then I'd love to see their financial disclosures. How did they manage? 47 minutes past. edging closer to the top of the hour. Speaking of fraud. It just occurred to me. I've been sitting in this chair. And with this microphone, through a lot of news. 24 years and now into year 25. And I was just talking with Dr. Jackson and we were having a good laugh just going through some of the things that we both have endured. Again, I marvel at what he was able to do. But I will also tell you, Not many people could have done it because the deck is stacked against average people. It just is. When you get to local government, just an average citizen with average resources cannot go into their pocket and fight the fight.

30:15

And they know that. They absolutely know it. In a funny way, there's this area in our federal government where there's almost an inversion where individual people can dip their hand into the taxpayer well of money. and take because of the largesse of government. Playing the odds, no one will notice. We have entire corruption schemes being run by Somalis in various parts of this country, and they're coming here specifically because the spick gets open. Guys, we can do this. We can take this money and we can funnel it back to Somalia, not to feed the poor, to arm and equip the terrorists that run the government. Just consider three headlines. Three. From the last couple days, Michigan man charged with running illegal alien harboring scheme through Japanese steakhouse chain in Michigan. The dude that's doing it gained citizenship by using a fraudulent passport. And he was denied citizenship, but he came back and did it anyway. That was in 1995. Second headline, Tacoma Grocer pocketed $600,000 by trading food benefits for cash. Someone would come in with their EBT card. He charged $200. He'd give them $100 cash. He pocketed $100 cash to the tune of $600,000. Final headline, St. Louis woman sentenced to three years for stealing $2.3 million from a children's meal program. We're just highlighting individual examples of fraud. It happens all the time. L-E-T-E-A. Your night in just got legendary. Oh, this is like getting the band back together. All we need is Steve Stewart in the same room, and we will be strumming our guitars. Good to be with you, friends. It's second hour here of the morning show with Preston Scott, and I am joined by a longtime friend and someone that I think anyone who lives in and around the Capitol City owes a tremendous debt of gratitude to, and that's Dr. Irwin Jackson. How are you doing, friend? Doing very good. Yeah, cozy up close. Okay. The book, which I told you, is just a absolute marvelous ride, is fighting the commission of corruption in Florida's capital city. Let me start with the question you wanted to make sure that we got in because I think it's a good place to start. Why did you decide to write this all down? Well, it was important to me, very important to me, for people to not forget. This is part, the corruption we went through for about a 20-year period, at least a 20-year period. I'm talking specifically the three mayors that were under federal criminal investigation at one time, which makes, say, unique situation. Yeah, that's. Period. That's never occurred in any other city in the United States, according to the FBI. We have to document our past. Many people in town want to forget about it. But if you forget about it, then you run the risk of doing it all over again. The problem is the citizens of Tallahassee must live with the knowledge that they elected. three individuals in my estimation in part in the federal government who were acting in unethical self-serving criminal manner and We kept doing the same thing. So I want people to have this. I want to distribute this book. This is certainly not a money-making operation. This is a gift to the community. Yeah. So everyone can have a book. So it will be here. And number one is they will have it. And then hopefully it will be used in our future where we'll make more careful selection of our mayor. And that's what we're in a process right now of doing as well. And as we learned, not just the mayor, but the entire makeup of the city commission. The character of the people that we elect matters a lot. For those that aren't aware of the story. Where did this begin for you? What was what drew you into this fight? I was sitting in my office. I knew about the city doing some kind of green energy something and a

36:37

mother, a single mom with two children, came in. She was, had been crying. I thought she was maybe one of my tenants and something happened. She started talking about a biomass plant and that it was being going to be built. across the street from where her house is. She didn't have enough money to sell the house and move, but she couldn't afford to live there with this burning and what turned out to be a biomass plant. It was going to operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week, smokestack industry, bringing in debris from... outside of town, bring it in, and that was going to be this new green energy thing. Yeah. So I said, that can't be. And then you go over there and you find out it is, and then I just started looking. It was worse than even she knew. It was so much worse that I was able to get a video of this similar plant owned by the same company. And to see the noise that it makes when a railroad train car comes in and a machine's big enough to grab it, turn it upside down and dump it into this furnace. And it vibrates so loud. It was breaking windows up to two blocks away. Really? Huge. You see that as a video, and that's what they want to put. And I had seven houses, personal interest, obviously, I had seven houses that backed up to this property. The only difference between this and between my property and this other was a four-foot chain-link fence. And a property was owned by FSU. So you just say, none of this makes sense. There's got to be something going on here. So that's kind of how I got started. And I also wanted to say the book was also for the 15 or 20 city employees to thank them. Their names aren't listed in a book, as you might imagine. But they came forward and they were feeding me information. And without them, I wouldn't have been able to be successful. So I appreciate it. And I thank each of those. Well, you talk about it takes a village. Ten past the hour. More to come with Dr. Irwin Jackson. Again, the book, Fighting the Commission of Corruption in Florida's capital city. A link is on our X page. You can find it on Amazon Books. Remember, wherever you travel, across the fruited plains or around the world, you can listen to the morning show with Preston Scott for free on the IHeart Radio app.

39:30

I will go ahead and tell you there's no way. We can get into all of the details in any of this. It's why it's in a book. There you go. Absolutely. There's just too much. And honestly, we devoted countless hours on this radio program and countless articles with Steve Stewart at Tallahassee reports disclosing, but you spent countless hours going to city commission meetings and fighting it. The short version is the biomass plant, the project got pulled. That's correct. But it involved members of the city commission at the time. Correct. Was that the first thread in the fabric of this thing that you started to pull on and see more? That was the first thing that actually encouraged me because that was the first victory. Okay. I was a little aggravated because I went to the state attorney and I said that this was not acceptable. They left town. And Willie Meigs was a state attorney, and he said he was going to take it to the grand jury, and then it just disappeared. And I said, yeah, but they did this, they did that. You had T.K. Weatherills involved. His wife was getting paid off. The land was, you know, and now, you mean, oh, you're not going to have, you know, you're not going to, no one's going to go to jail. There's no penalty. They just. He said, Erwin, we appreciate everything you've done. He said, just accept the victory and be happy. He said, if they thought about, if they tried to do these things, which they clearly were trying to do, but they didn't do, you can't find them guilty of not doing something. So he said they left town, the plant's never going to be there. But they left town, the commissioners, and then subsequent elected leaders did not leave town. Oh, absolutely. Then we go into other things, you know, whether it's the deferred compensation, and we had Alan Katz trying to figure out a way to pay off Debbie Lightsey, so she would retire. And from that, we went into Honeywell. And as soon as you see it with John Marks, He agreed to pay Honeywell $46 million. No bid contract. Right. It doesn't take a genius. Some people think I'm pretty smart, kind of a deputy dog type guy. But it doesn't take a lot. Does it make any sense for someone in the city to pay $46 million and not even worry about getting another bid? It's simple. And at the time, correct me if I'm wrong, the mayor, John Marks, was an attorney and his law firm was working with Honeywell. Is that correct? Yep, yep. And it was amazing.

42:26

And in the book, I talked about the growth of the contracts that the, just almost months after John Mark gets this job working, he was going to be our full-time mayor, but he was working. And for the law firm representing Honeywell, as soon as John Marks got hired, the contracts he approved for Honeywell went from almost nothing to almost $50 million. So, yeah, I think there's a relationship there. Why did you make the decision? Was it tactical? to start questioning the city commissioners and the mayor from the dais at the city meetings and filing ethics charges with the Florida Commission on ethics, etc. Yeah, absolutely. I'm a businessman and a psychologist, overall pretty frugal. And what's a better way of getting free TV than go into the city commission and you start speaking facts and telling about information I'd received? I got a lot of exposure. I met people like you, and there was very few people that even wanted to discuss this until after a couple, you know, a couple of years. I started in 2009, made my... The first presentation, actually December 2008, up till Gillum's trial was in 23, so you're looking at 15 years. I kept looking and something else happened and something else and something else. And I said, my God, are we ever going to get through this? Now I'm 75. I started when I'm 60. Is that unbelievable? More to talk about with Dr. Erwin Jackson. Again, the book, Fighting the Commission of Corruption in Florida's Capital City, get it on Amazon.com.

45:01

Final segment here, Dr. Irwin Jackson. Again, the book is available on Amazon, and it's fighting the Commission of Corruption. I love that. Commission of Corruption. Talk about a perfect double entendre. Dr. Irwin Jackson with us for one more segment here. Are you satisfied with the results, what happened, the trials, and the sentences served, the pleas that were reached? No, I wasn't as to some extent. No would be too strong. Like many people, when this was finished, they looked at Scott Maddox. He said, oh, well, he's given five years. Then he got out after 18 months. White color crime, you can get away with almost murder. Andrew Gillum admitting to ethics violations, agreed to it, paid a fine. And then when they went to court locally, the citizens couldn't decide if what he admitted to was true or not. And it makes your head spin. Yeah. But my response, and so I was angry like several people. But after a few days, you say, well, they lost a lot, a lot more. Now, being in prison for a year and a half, I guess it's better than five years. But until someone does that... I'm not going to, they can't really say it's no big deal if you've never done it. So I think it's a big deal. Yeah. But worse, Scott, he lost his, his freedom for a while. He lost his ability to make a living. He lost his law degree. He divorced, his wife divorced him. He lost quite a bit of money. When you say lost his law degree, you mean he was disbarred? He was disbarred. Okay, yeah. Ability to practice law. His ability to practice law. Yeah. And then his wife, he has to explain to his children. Okay. Now, they're older, but still, and he has to live, he has to live with that. The cops came out, not the cops, but the FBI and the U.S. attorney and a judge ordered that these antique cars that he had, they had to all be confiscated. He lost the house that he really liked. And I mentioned in a book, I've heard that the many strippers not even accepting his phone calls anymore. So he lost quite a bit. Oh, and I wound up buying to show that I'm willing to be a pretty good guy. I bought the 1966 Red Mustang that was auctioned off, and that money was helped to pay some of his legal fees. So he lost a lot.

47:56

Andrew Gillum had all sorts of things, all sorts of possibilities, and it came crashing down. He fell a long way, hit the floor in the Miami Beach Hotel. Yeah. That's a big fall. So for people say, well, they didn't suffer much. John Marks, totally embarrassed. keeping a low profile. And that's a wonderful thing. You haven't heard Scott Maddox talking about anything. Andrew Gillum, John Marks. No, they have to live with them. Three consecutive mayors. Three consecutive mayors, according to the FBI, Tallahassee is the only community in the United States who has consistently. Over three different elections had their mayors under federal criminal investigation at the same time. Let me ask you this. And this is an unplanned question. Yeah. You're a registered Democrat. Yeah, I'm a registered Democrat. I would imagine that was a little uncomfortable initially. No, no, no, wasn't uncomfortable. I go ahead and I vote for people. I used to. Yeah, but the party protects. They're kind of, they kind of protect their own. I'm not a good party guy. Okay. I'm just not a good party guy. I vote for the best person in any election. I'm a Democrat right now and have been, I think there's more voting opportunities when you're a Democrat. That's kind of how I started. Sure. And I was successful in doing this, whether you're a Democrat or Republican is irrelevant. Do you think it matters, though, that this community has been run by one party and had no real dissenting voices to speak of? Right. Oh, absolutely. I think that's a problem. And I guess as a Democrat, I'm able to vote against. the individuals, certain individuals that would be put up to for an election. Sure. Wouldn't be able to do that if I was Republican. On the other hand, you know, so I think I can do more damage inside the party than I can outside. What do you think the future is for this community? Is it based on what lessons they learn from this? I think that would help. I think that would help. I think we're heading in the wrong direction. I think that speeding up the amount of taxes that go through, the people are running for elections for all the wrong reasons. People can't find a job, so they decide I'll run for a mayor. You know. Community activists. Community activists, full-time jobs. I think we're, I worry about a community. Yeah. Hopefully this will help. And, um.

I did the best I could. Spent 15 years. I'm not looking for any more corruption right now, though. I'm too old. I work too slow. So you think. Good to see you. Thanks for coming in. We appreciate it a lot. Dr. Irwin Jackson with me this morning. And again, fighting the Commission of Corruption in Florida's Capital City. I kid you not. Look, I have probably interviewed. several thousand authors in the 24 plus years of doing this. And in the course of doing that, I've been sent and handed a copy of a lot of books. And a lot of them find their way to the stores and to friends and silver. This is one of the only books that I have been handed recently that is such a fascinating read. You would look at this, and if you started where you do, chapter one, you would think you're reading a novel. You would think there's no way this happened. And that's the beauty of it. Not only did it happen, it's written down for you to see for yourself. Check it out. Get the book, The Commission of Corruption. 29 past the hour.

That's when he thought he was wrong, but in fact, wasn't. It's the morning show with Preston Scott. It's a great read. And... And some of us kind of lived it. You know, again, I, I'm grateful that we had somebody in this community that not only had his Popeye moment, I've stood all I can stand and I can't stand anymore. But again, this cannot be overstated. He had the ability to fight because he had the resources to do so. Most cannot do that. And that's what really stinks. Local governments know they'll just outlast you. They couldn't do that with Irwin. He was going to get his three minutes. Something we didn't touch on in the book.

54:27

that I'm going to touch on now. Throughout the book, there are QR codes. I've never seen a book do this. Those QR codes take you right to a video clip being mentioned, where you can hear it for yourself, see it for yourself. In fact, at the end of the book, there's a QR code. He said, if you want nine hours, of what I presented to this commission, three minute intervals, nine hours long, you can watch all of them. I called that Irwin Jackson's greatest hits. And that's what makes this even more substantive is that not only are you getting this book that has information presented at trial. information that's on the public record, it fills in details and gives you complete context to some of the things that happened, the efforts to silence any dissent. They tried to keep him from talking at city commission meetings, a violation of the First Amendment. They were strongly advised against that. Now, if I'm not mistaken, reversed course pretty quickly, but they tried to do it. They were doing everything possible. They tried to get me fired. That's a documented fact. Thankfully, my boss is totaled to pound sand. And that's great. But it's... It's a very important book, and it's very important for a community like Tallahassee, Florida's state capital, for you to understand. This happened here, and it can happen again. And in certain regards, because Florida's legislature has softened ethics laws, it's still sort of kind of happening now. We have elected officials making trips and not disclosing who's paying for the trips. That's a problem. But you reelected her, in part because there's not accountability. And why is that? Because state lawmakers don't want accountability.

57:11

Not exactly the big stories in the press box, but I'll get to those next. 41 minutes past the hour. It's the morning show with Preston Scott. Validating your feelings or perhaps helping you come to terms with the fact that you have been wrong for so much of your life. It's the morning show with Preston Scott. of this. The idea came from comedian Adam Carolla. Who, oh, by the way, is a conservative? When he suggested they changed the name of immigration customs enforcement to national immigration customs enforcement. Spell it out. What's the acronym? And Trump is all behind it. There's nothing official yet. But it absolutely should happen. There would be nothing more appropriate than to be able to say, look at the left. They're even protesting against nice. That's absolutely perfect. And how. How the liberals managed to turn protecting our borders into Trump and Republicans and conservatives being a bunch of Nazis? I mean, I don't get it. Trump's out there saying, great idea, do it. Well, I mean, quite frankly, Mr. President, you're in the better position to have the name change than we are. But just think about that for a second. What do you do for a living? I'm a nice agent.

No, what do you do? I'm a nice agent. I go around and I'm nice. Wherever I go, I'm nice. I have a badge. See, nice. I'm officially nice. Just the possibilities are truly endless. The negotiation update with Iran. Iran wants two part negotiations. One, the strait of Hormuz and the embargo. See, here's the part that the Iranians don't get. It's not yours to control. You can control your territorial waters.

1:00:52

The Strait of Hormuz is an international shipping lane. You can't do anything there. And there's the problem. This is what I know that Secretary of State Marco Rubio fully understands this. He's got this whole thing down. I listened to him. in a sit-down interview with Trey Yinks at Fox. He's finally not having to wear a helmet and ducked missiles in Israel. He's now back stateside. He had a sit-down with Marco Rubio, something, by the way, I'm efforting. And Marco Rubio has completely understands the realities of Iran. There are things that are just not negotiable. development is not an option right now because they have proven to be multi-generational irresponsible and you can't you can't negotiate with something that you don't own you don't own those straight of Hormuz the shipping lane you don't own that you can't negotiate that it would be like it would be like me saying um I'm going to negotiate passage on Thomasville Road Well, I don't own that. Yeah, but I'm going to negotiate. I'm claiming the rights to Thomasville Road because it goes near my house. So I'm claiming that as mine. Yeah, but it's not yours. It's in fact the state of Florida's. It's not even the city or the counties. It's the states. No, I don't care. I'm claiming it. Do you see how ridiculous that sounds? That's the straight of Hormuz. It is not theirs to claim, ergo they can't negotiate. But they're trying to negotiate that. What are you talking about? It's not a lot different at this point than the Monty Python and the Holy Grail, where he gets his arms and his legs cut off and he's bobbing around and he says, come back and fight like a man. What are you talking about? You have no arms and legs. What are you talking about? Come back and we got a manly minute. And more to come on the morning show with Preston Scott. As I feast on some cheese, ham and crackers, we now delve into another edition of a mentally minute. We share tips on raising a young squire. A young man, a manly man, because you're male by birth, but you're man by choice. I'm your host. Preston Scott. How you doing? Yeah, these are tips on raising a man. Simple, direct. These are skills. And then I would go through and bless Mom, Dad, and I would name my brothers and my sister. And that's how I prayed every night. It was a very introductory prayer. and understanding of prayer but I'm 65 and I remember it to this day teach your son to pray one of the things you might think about doing is you might think about bringing your son and your daughter and your entire family to the National Day of Prayer. Welcome to the third out of the morning show with Preston. Scott, I'm Preston. He's Jose. How many times did I say the title of this book in my three segments for Dr. Irwin Jackson and then the fourth bonus segment that I talked about it? Maybe eight times? Nine? Emails. Hey, what was the name of the book you talked about this morning? Hmm. I love you people. You know what I'm doing to you? When I, when I do something that causes my wife to shake her head, and I go what? She just goes like this. She goes, with a smile, she says, I love you. And it's, it's, It's like just putting a band-aid over it, the boo-boo. Just, I love you. So friends, I love you. Fighting the commission of corruption in Florida's capital city. What I'm going to do for you that write me, I'm going to send you the link so you can just order the book. That's what I'm going to do. He only got one mistake. I told him he only had one mistake. He lists Eric Eggers at the back in acknowledgments as the co-host of this program. Eric was not the co-host. He was the producer. He wanted to be. He really did. But that was not in the cards. It was never going to be in the cards. But anyway, that's the only mistake in the book. Right there. Eric, Eric did a great job. And, um, and, and obviously got Dr. Jackson to, uh, to, to, to reach out and, and come on the program, which was terrific. But, uh, I will, I will dutifully help all of you. Um, get, get the name in the title and be able to order the book. Let's listen to something together, shall we? This is on my ex page for the radio program. This is former assistant FBI, former Secret Service agent, head of the FBI, former Secret Service agent, and radio talk show host, commentator, special contributor to Fox News. This is Dan Bongino. Listen, having been an agent for over 12 years in the Secret Service, excuse me, 12 years and having spent a good amount of time in a protective intelligence squad where you actually go out and interview these people who threaten the president and protectees, I think there's an assumption on the left where there's no shame in threatening the president's life on the left. So this isn't a both sides thing. So we can just cut that garbage out right now and just stop the nonsense. On the right, okay, on any respected kind of mainstream figure on the right.

1:10:38

If you were to go out and even imply someone should be physically hurt on the left for their ideas, you're almost instantly shamed out of the movement. There is no such corresponding effect on the left. You just mentioned the name. I don't even want to mention this guy's name because he's such a zero. But he's out there implying that physical violence is okay and is a means of fighting back against a man or systemic discrimination or whatever crap they throw out there. And not only Rachel is there no shame, you're welcomed in open arms on... mainstream left-wing podcasts where they're like, hey, come on in and spew this bile out there. There is no such corresponding movement on the right. There is no both sides, folks. Stop telling yourself that. It's not true. You would never be allowed on this network. You work here. I've worked here a long time. You would never be allowed in this network, even joking around about that stuff. You'd be gone. They'd pull you off mid-segment. They don't allow that stuff. It's not a both-sides thing. I'm trying to place it. Where have I heard that before? Give me a second. Oh, yeah. I've been saying it for years. You know, the both sides people, they're trying to justify the acts of others because it's in response to what the other side does. You know, the other side, there is no other side here. That is a myth. It's vapor. It doesn't exist. It just doesn't exist.

1:12:20

And I jumped on the opportunity to put that on our X page and to play that for you this morning to share that, you know, we're not alone in the things we're thinking. I'm not alone in the things that I've been sharing and offering and speaking about for two and a half decades. Whoa. Two and a half decades. Boy, that sounds longer than 24 plus years, doesn't it? Anyway, so thank you to Dan Bongino. Shoot that stuff down. And he gave you the argument in a minute and 22 seconds, 26 seconds. He gave you the argument. It's not tolerated by us. We don't think that way. 11 minutes past the hour. Melania had something to say about Jimmy Kimmel. Welcome to the morning show with Preston Scott, guaranteed human, and covering what you're talking about, what you will be talking about, and most importantly, what you should be talking about.

1:14:02

Go past the hour. So Melania has offered some thoughts. You know, she is, she's just not putting up with as much as she did the first time around. Your night in just got legendary. You might recall that a few days before the White House correspondence dinner, Kimmel acted as if he was there at the event giving remarks on his show. It was a pre-produced bit. It showed little cutaways, B-roll, is what we would call it in television, of the president and the first lady. And he said that Melania Trump had a glow like an expectant widow. She replied, Kimmel's hateful and violent rhetoric is intended to divide our country. His monologue about my family isn't comedy. His words are corrosive and deepens the political sickness within America. People like Kimmel shouldn't have the opportunity to enter our homes each evening.

1:15:52

To spread hate. A coward, Kimmel hides behind ABC because he knows the network will keep running cover to protect him. Enough is enough. It's time for ABC to take a stand. How many times will ABC's leadership enable Kimmel's atrocious behavior at the expense of our community? Now, of course, they'll claim this is an attack on the First Amendment. It's not. It's an attack on decency and the public airwaves. This is what Kimmel does to maintain relevance because he doesn't have ratings. He's not funny. And he has a one-sided agenda. And see, that's the thing. Carson, Johnny Carson could be counted on to pick on whoever was in office. Didn't matter. And it was going to be lighthearted, ribbing, And jokes. Kimmel is claiming, oh, no, no, no, it wasn't about, I would never, I would never joke about such a thing. Remember that? He's claiming it was because of the age difference. You know what? That's plausible. That could have been what was on his mind. He couldn't have known someone was going to try to kill Trump that night. Could he? Or could he? No, I'm just kidding. I don't think so. I don't think he knew. No one knew. Except that idiot. The loser to be named late, who will not be named, who will remain nameless. But here's the point is, that's not funny, period. Even if you're off ramp for this is that I was just joking about the age difference. That's not funny. It's, I'm glad the first lady's pushing back. ABC's not going to do anything. They never will. They gave him a one week slap on the wrist for the ridiculousness that he did before. Nothing's going to come with this. But anyway. 16 pass. Come back with a diversion. Animal stories next on the morning show. We're in the season of the fun. We're in the season of the fun. The politics of running for office, man. They're just getting started. The race for governor is going to get nasty. And it's a shame. I don't think Byron Donalds's is running a particularly good campaign. But someone behind Jay Collins is thrown out a hit piece on Donald's that is just tacky. I mean, it's just, it's sophomoric. It really is. Employing actors to, you know, to carry this storyline. And anyway, to me, it's way beneath the integrity of Jay Collins. If, you know, if Jay Collins' team is behind this, it's beneath Jay. I hope Jay didn't sign off on that, but whatever. We'll see. We'll see. Well, you know, we've talked to Jay.

1:19:43

We talked to him about his run. On one occasion, talked about a lot of other things on other occasions. He'll certainly be welcome to come back in. Paul Renner's come on to Byron Donalds's has not. As I've explained, Byron Donalds's is right now running off the endorsement of Donald Trump, and he can't win that way, in my opinion. I don't think the endorsement of Trump carries the weight that he thinks it does. And at some point, you've got to run. He's trying not to get out there because he is tracking well without going out and running. So it's kind of like why stumble and fall. But eventually that's going to catch up to him. So, you know, we'll see. The GOP is certainly capable of eviscerating itself in one form or another. And so we could be watching that happen. But thankfully, we've got other things. In the wild or in our homes, we love them critters large and small. Time for another edition of Animal Stories on The Morning Show with Preston Scott. Parts of National Park closed after bears chased and bit visitors. This is parts of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. We're not talking catmai up in Alaska, not grizzlies. We're talking black bears. See, I think people have this idea that black bears aren't going to bug them. They're just, they're omnivores. Actually, black bears resemble Jose quite a bit. No, I'm definitely one of those people. They're in my yard all the time at night. I just want to go out there and cuddle them. Yeah, I'm sure you do. You resemble them. You favor a black bear, a little black bear cub. But no, it's, Rangers have responded to three incidents in recent weeks. And where bears approached visitors took their backpacks. And in one case, bear displayed aggressive behavior, chased a group of people. No injuries reported. But bear kind of swiped at him, bit at them. And so, yeah, there's about 1,900 American black bears in the Smoky Mountain National Park. Most visited national park in the U.S. So there are bound to be some interactions. So there's one animal story.

1:22:32

And then there's this. This was actually going to be my worst of the week had I done it a couple weeks ago. Marante de la Pueblo. Maybe Spain's greatest matador making a comeback. Now, bull fights are losing popularity big time. People are like, yeah, I don't want to watch a bull get killed like that. That's just, that's weird. I don't want to do it. Well, admired by many Spaniards as the finest bullfighter ever is recovering from the hospital after being gored by a bull when he tried to come out of retirement. It's not just getting gored by the bull, it's being gored where he was gored. Turn the music down. He was gored in his heiny. Like... In the hine, the spot. In his butt. Oh. He got gourd there. Oh, my gosh. Had surgery. Had to... We'll just kind of leave it there. But, yeah. I mean, I suppose if it's that or getting gourd in the stomach or the heart, you're... I'm just saying. But my goodness. 27 minutes past the hour animal stories here, an exclusive presentation. You think Cash and Woody will take that segment, too, of The Morning Show with Preston Scott?

It's the morning show with Preston Scott. Money talk in just a few minutes. Howard Isman will join us. Big stories in the press box. We've talked about a couple of them. Negotiations with Iran. They want a two-stage negotiation. They want the Strait of Hormuz opening up combined with the embargo ending. The problem is it's not theirs to negotiate. Second part, they want to negotiate the nuclear stuff later. No. No. So, you know, we'll see where this all leads. It always hurts this kind of thing. I'm not into nation building. I do believe that we have created a circumstance where the regime has changed, but it's not a change in regime. Just different people singing the same song. So we'll see if you're dealing with just secular Iranians that are nuts, that's one thing. You're dealing with the clerics, that's a whole other story. Second big story, the president has endorsed a clever name change for immigration and customs enforcement. putting the word national in front of it. The idea took root when somebody posted it, but it's actually an idea that goes back more than a year. Comedian Adam Carolla suggested the national immigration and customs enforcement, therefore becoming nice agents. And being able to say, well, who do you work for? I work for nice. Well, I know you're pleasant, but who do you work for? Nice. I mean, you could almost turn that into a comedy routine. I think it's brilliant. And again, on the subject of the president, he's floating the idea of a tax payer-funded takeover of Spirit Airlines and then selling it for profit. No, no, no, no, no. No. The government should not be owning shares of a private company, should not be buying private companies. That is, we are in debt. We don't go buying airlines. Now, this might be a wonderful opportunity for Trump Enterprises.

1:27:51

Have you guys running the business while you're running the country? Do whatever they if they want to buy Spirit Airlines. It's based in Florida. Go for it. Buy Spirit Airlines. Put your name and your likeness on the planes if you want to. I don't care. But no to taxpayer funded. Take over of Spirit Airlines. I don't care if you sell it for a profit. I don't care. No. Government doesn't get involved in the private sector. No. That's socialism. This is the second time I've had to talk to him about this. Mr. President, no. That's socialism. Government-owned private sector businesses is what the Chicombs do. No. I know it's a lot of jobs. Let the marketplace settle it. Come back with Money Talk here next on the morning show at Preston Scott. Guests, the other shows can't book topics they won't talk about and guaranteed human. It's the morning show with Preston Scott.

Money Talk with Howard Eisenman. With enhanced financial services security and advisory services offered through NBC Securities Inc. member Finran, SIPC. NBC Securities Inc. is a wholly owned subsidiary of RBC Bank USA. The opinions expressed are not those of NBC Securities Inc. or IHeartMedia. On appropriate matters, seek professional tax and or legal advice. Money! Money! To you lay that money down. Howard, I was just talking about taxpayers shouldn't be funding the takeover of a private business. What's going on out there in the marketplace? What happened in March and now what's happening in April? Sure. So, you know, March we saw the low in the market. at least the near-term low here, where the value of U.S. stocks, publicly traded stocks had fallen to $65 trillion at the end of March. But drumroll since then we've had a very, very strong recovery, almost a $7 trillion addition in value. We're right at around $71.63 trillion today. And the interesting part, Preston, is there are now nine trillion-dollar U.S. companies, and they accounted for more than half of that recovery in lost market value just in the last few weeks. This is probably a question that can't be answered in the time we have, but I feel like I have to ask it anyway. How do we know the value of a company? Is it as simple as it's based on whatever people place the value of the stock? In other words, whatever the value is of its stock is the value of the company. That's a great question. Most investors in public company look at it and go, okay, if the stock goes from a dollar to $5, the market value or market capitalization is $5. What a business is intrinsically worth is really what investors are willing to pay for it. Yeah. I guess on any given day. Okay. Yeah. What is going on with regard to consumer sentiment right now? I feel like there's mixed signals out there as far as what we're feeling. Yeah, there really are. You know, when you look at the University of Mission Consumer Sentiment Index, that's kind of the gold standard measuring consumer sediment. It actually hit a record low this month. It actually, the final number was just released, came in at 49.8. Historically, the average consumer sentiment number has been about 84, and a half. The drop that occurred from March into April was a drop of about 6%. It was actually the largest drop.

1:32:41

since they've been doing the survey, and that goes back many, many decades. And the other interesting point, Preston, very, very unique, while this is the first time the consumer sentiment drop to a record low in the very same month that the Standard 4 is 500 index just touched a new record high. That's crazy. Yeah, a lot of questions in both directions about that. Let's end with this. What is the Buffett indicator? I hear that term. What is it? Yeah. So back in around 1990, Warren Buffett came up with an indicator that everyday investors could use. It's really very simple. You take the total market value, the capitalization of all 5,000 companies in the Wilshire 5,000 stock index. It's published every day. And those are small, medium, large, and gigantic companies. And that number, as of yesterday, was just under $72 trillion. That's the value of those 5,000 stocks. And you divide it by our country's gross domestic product, which is $31.45 trillion. And looking at those numbers, what you see today is that the market value is more than double the size of our economy. And the Buffett indicator consistently, he says that the fair value ought to be about 90%. In other words, the value of the stock market should be about the same or even a little bit less. than the total production of our economy. Wow. But that's not the case today. There's a lot of enthusiasm. We're at about 228%. And according to the Buffett indicator, the U.S. stock market's overvalued by about 60% as we speak. Wow. And that's a gulp, isn't it? Yeah, it is. Yeah. Doesn't mean it's going to happen. Probably won't. But nevertheless, valuations matter, and it's something I think investors ought to take a close look at. And Howard, you and I have talked about that issue of what's supporting the market valuations for a number of years. Yes, yes. And a lot of times it's momentum and excitement. And a lot of times it's Wall Street coming up with all these great ideas, and folks don't want to get left at the train station without being able to go along for the ride. Yeah, and with pessimism being at a record level and stocks at a record level, those things at some point are going to collide in an unfriendly way. All right, Howard, thanks for the Intel. Tomorrow on the program, Adam Gillette, accuracy in media will join us. We've had him on the show before. Terry Smith, for those of you in Tallahassee, Terry has been our meteorologist for 20 years with the Weather Channel, maybe the whole time. I'll ask her. She's a Florida State alumnus. She's done at the Weather Channel. She is calling it a career. And so this is her final week of doing our weather. And so I'm going to have Terry on tomorrow for just a few minutes. We're going to do just a quick little chat. And I want to just say thank you. We've gotten to know each other just a little bit. I mean, it's not like we've ever met in person, but she said she's hoping to come to some FSU football games in person and just change up her world a little bit. She's been doing this a long time. So we'll talk to Terry a little bit tomorrow. And then tomorrow, I'm going to tackle the topic of assisted suicide. There is a story out of England that is heartbreaking. And it has opened. I mean, assisted suicide's been going on for, well, for a long time. But it's been sanctioned in certain countries fairly recently. And I want to talk about it. So we'll use a story and we'll talk about that. Maybe get your thoughts on it. Should someone have a right to end their life? So that plus all the news of the day and more tomorrow. Brought to you by Barano Heeding and Air. It's the Morning Show 180 on WFLA. We started the program in Galatians 1 and we picked up with verse 6. We went from verses 6 through 9. and the importance of sound doctrine. Once again, Paul underscoring the importance of knowing what the gospel of Jesus Christ is from the counterfeits out there. Big stories in the press box. President endorsing a clever name change from ICE to Nice. National Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Brilliant. wish I'd have thought. Honestly, that's the type of thing that I would have thought of because that's how my brain works. Just, I never would have, I wouldn't have ever placed my thoughts on a federal. Anyway, good, good job to Adam Carolla for thinking of it better than a year ago. It's just catching some legs now. Negotiations with Iran are, I mean, how do you negotiate with liars? I don't know how you do that. uh trump floating the idea of taxpayer funded takeover of spirit airlines i give that a hard no had some animal stories talked through a lot of other stuff great visit with dr irwin jackson go to our x page for more on the book talk to tomorrow friends
