Oh, but Preston, it was written so long ago. Right. And the guy behind it all has got it all under control. He knows exactly what our civilization was going to be like. And that's the thing. This is timeless truth. It doesn't matter. And sorry, that's what makes the Constitution so special because they based it on truths of God. And that's what allowed the Constitution to exist in a form that allows us to speak to the issues of the day, of the age, without. without in any way, shape, or form contradicting God's word. Because the rights that are limiting, the things that limit government from infringing upon our rights, which is what socialism does at all times, is infringes on rights, those rights are from God. By the way, just a little commentary here. Do you ever notice how... The people that lead socialism never, ever lived the life of the average socialist or citizen. Ever. Ever. Ever. It's tough following the longest reigning monarch in history when you're talking England. Queen Elizabeth was queen longer than any other king or queen in history. And even though I was, I, the whole Charles Diana thing, they were both miserable, right? And it's just that that's just a tragedy from the get-go. It's a tragedy, their marriage, it's a tragedy how Diana died. It's a tragedy that Camilla was involved the way that she was involved with Charles, sort of on the side. But they were, she was his true love. It's like, it's just this sort of thing, right? But, okay, that's done. He is the king. She is by nature of marriage, the queen. And I have been, okay, surprised. Not that my judgment on it means a thing. It doesn't. But I thought, first of all, Charles III brought a gift to the president. And it's a historic naval artifact. He gifted Trump an original bell from the HMS, Her Majesty's Service, Trump. That was the name of the ship. A British submarine launched in 1944 that served in the Pacific during World War II. Tonight, Mr. President, I'm delighted to present you as a personal gift, the original bell. May it stand as a testimony to our nation's shared history and shining future. And then he smiled and said, and should you ever need to get a hold of us, just give us a ring? Splendid. But I will say that my favorite offering is what Queen Camilla brought. I'm a huge Winnie the Pooh fan. I just think they are precious. adorable characters. And if you know anything of the background, the characters are based on stuffed animals that were owned by the son of A.A. Milne. His son, Christopher Robin. Christopher Robin, the lead character with all the characters, that's his son. Christopher Robin Milne. And so the New York Public Library had the original set of A.A. Milne's stuffed animals from his son. They have had on display from British Toymaker Marathot the complete set, but one was missing.

The little kangaroo, the young son of Kanga, rue. And so they had one made that matches the original set. So they had Winnie, Tigger, Piglet, Kanga, and Eey all displayed together at the New York Public Library and have for years. And so 100 years after the... Winnie the Pooh Tales were first published. Rue got, Rue was separated from Kanga in the original collection in the 1930s in an apple orchard. I guess Christopher Robin lost Rue. So when the collection was gifted or somehow put in the possession of the New York Public Library, It was missing one. And so it's really, it's a precious display because they've got the original animals there. And now they're back together again. Right? I'm showing Jose a photo of the characters and now Rue is with them. And I always love Tigger. The voice of Winnie the Pooh is one of the most. I don't know who the original voice was. It's easy to look up and find. I'm not asking you to do that for me. But Tigger, the Tigger song. Wonderful thing about Tiggers. I just, I love it. Tiggers are wonderful things. Their tops are made rubber. Their tails are made of springs. I mean, I just love that song. Anyway, who saw this coming? Big story in the press box. The United Arab Emirates is dumping membership in OPEC. It's leaving OPEC. As of tomorrow. Not tomorrow, day after tomorrow, Friday. May 1st, it's out. It's going to do its own thing. It's leaving OPEC. Thanks for the memories. It said basically in a statement, but we're going to do our own thing. We're going to try to meet market demands ourselves. We'll see if it works out for them. You can read every analysis of this. and get a different take on what's going to happen as a result. When I, because I spent some time reading a bunch of different analysis, Motley Fool, some Wall Street analysts, and if I were betting, I would say that it helps prices cool a little bit, but not necessarily right away. But we'll see. because the oil markets are incredibly reactive. They're like lightning when prices need to go up and they're like turtles when prices need to come down. You know what I'm saying? It's just interesting to me how, you know, when something happens, even though they paid for, you know, the gas stations paid for the gas at a lower price, price hikes up. But it comes back down much slower. from a reaction standpoint, which is, it's interesting to me. But anyway, defending education has released a report. If you're a teacher and a member of the union, you might want to know that in the last decade, they have sent more than $1 billion to left-wing political groups.

One billion dollars. Not going to classrooms, not going to helping education, not going to, you know, teacher training. No, left-wing political organizations. One billion of your dollars, teachers. And isn't this interesting? Dr. David Morins, he was a senior advisor to Dr. Anthony Fauci for 16 years, 16 years, has been indicted by a grand jury. Destruction, alteration, or falsification of records in federal investigations, concealment removal, or mutilation of records, and aiding and abetting. Conspiracy against the United States. Why? What was he destroying? Well, it would appear that he was destroying records that were being requested by Freedom of Information requests, dealing with money going to the Wuhan lab, dealing with COVID's, the virus development. He was destroying records, emails, connecting the National Institute of Health to that. Just saying. You know, not only am I, and I'm sorry, I am a little smug about being right about COVID. But here's the other thing. I also didn't get the jab. I'm just saying. 41 minutes after the hour. Florida man next. Beck. He's always been a white guy. Glenn. Beck. We got it. Licensed to talk. Nine to noon on WFLA. We haven't done this in a minute. Perfect for the first hour of the morning show with Preston Scott. Well, if you read something insane, I probably did it. You know the words. Yeah, we'll modify the title here from Florida man to Florida. Well, not quite a man. These are crimes. Ocala, Florida. Two 18-year-olds, not quite men yet. They certainly didn't have people listening to the Manly Minute on the morning show with Preston Scott and raising them to be young men. Men of character. They were arrested Saturday after videos showed them driving a lawnmower into a Target store. I mean, one was assigned to videotape, the other drove a lawnmower literally through the door, shattering the doors, and then driving it through the store. So, uh, Janik or Janik, uh, Ziradek and Luke Charsky. So he unloads a mower from a trailer, drives it through the doors of the store, driving around and then leaving while it's all being videotaped. Um, it should be noted the night before.

Zaradek allegedly used a leaf blower inside a culvers. And so they were arrested, released a day or so later. I have no idea. I mean, as I'm reading the article. Oh, I think they're teenagers. They definitely got the consequence that a lot of people think they deserve. But I also think to give them grace because they're teenage boys. No. No. No. Because that's why they've done stuff before and been given grace. Maybe not by law enforcement, but by somebody. They didn't just wake up and say, you know what, let's just take the lawnmower and drive into Target. No, no, this is that, this is what I would call a graduation crime. They started somewhere else and graduated and moved on. It's like I was talking with somebody the other day about how someone shoplifts. They take candy as a kid. They get away with it. And then they take a little bit more. Then they go to another store and they're taking toys. And then they get a little bit older and they start taking stuff for their car. Taking hardware stuff. They're smuggling stuff out. And that's what happens. And next thing you know, they're burglarizing places. No one's looking. And then next thing you know, they graduate from that to... Armed robberies, stealing cars, whatever. These crimes of graduation start somewhere. So either they weren't caught or they were not punished and didn't learn. Hopefully they'll learn. I've got some hope because the police say that these are crimes. They're not harmless videos. So good on them. But there you go. Florida, almost, man. Not quite. Now, he convinced everybody he was a conservative, and I would say there is no chance that he was ever a conservative, given that he has been from 2016 on, he has hated Donald Trump and is now writing editorials endorsing the Democrat plan to pack the Supreme Court. so that they can get an instant activist set of justices in the majority and then force a bunch of political changes by reinterpreting the United States Constitution. He's endorsing this plan. Now, that in and of itself is my evidence. He was never a conservative. He might have been a rhino. But conservatives are anchored to principles that do not change. He was never a conservative. He was a fraudulent conservative, if you even want to be generous. The strategy on the left is spelled out by James Carville. And why anyone listens to him, I don't know. But he's... Pack the Supreme Court to 13, bleep it, eat our dust, don't run on it, don't talk about it, just do it. And that is brought about the Nike School of Constitutional Law, which is catching on with the liberals. Just do it. And that circles back to why you have to nuke the filibuster. You got to get things passed because we're doing nothing. We have control of the House, the Senate, yes, slim majorities, yes, but control. The problem is you've got just enough rhinos in the Senate between Lisa Murkowski, Susan Collins, Mitch McConnell, and Thom Tillis that you now have a problem. Winning over John Fetterman on a handful of issues isn't enough. And that's why you go back to the majority whip in the Senate, the conference chair. You've got to, you've got to get a little dirty, not play dirty. You've got to just get in the weeds. You've got to get in the mud. You've got to duke it out. You've got to fight it. Years ago, a Harvard professor named Michael Clayman, Clarman.

laid out an agenda so that Republicans quoting him will never win another election. He warned, though, the Supreme Court would strike down everything I just described. Therefore, the court must be packed in advance to allow these changes to occur. Eric Holder, former Attorney General, we're talking about the acquisition and the use of power if there's a Democratic trifecta in 2028. This is the plan. For the city of Tallahassee, it's about making sure you don't let the extremists get control. If they do, see you. The only thing that will hinder them would be the state of Florida. But sadly, the Republicans in the House and the Senate, because of rhinos, enough of them, one in the Speaker's office, They're not capable of getting things done. Two sessions now. Adam is president of accuracy and media. How are you, sir? Welcome back to the show. Hey, thank you so much for having me back. Southern Poverty Law Center. It has long been the bane of my existence. It started out with a noble mission. and it has been corrupted to the core. Adam, give us the story and what stands out to you from your perspective as president of accuracy and media. Sure, well, obviously they were funding bad people on both sides. You know, they've had the same playbook for decades where they basically create a list of truly awful, evil, racist people. But then they also purposely mix in just traditional left-ling targets and put them on that list so that they could say, look at our hate list. It's the worst to the worst. You don't want to do business with them. If you see them walking down on the street, cross and walk on the other side of the street, and people used it. You know, Facebook would use that as an excuse to shadow ban people or to kick them off their platform. Advertisers would use it as an excuse not to take money from any of those people. Well, then, as we saw right now, they were funding some of the worst of the worst, including $270,000 for a leader of the Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville, Virginia. They have blood on their hands. It's interesting to me because, as I said, it started out with noble intentions. Do we have an idea of what corrupted it or was it corrupted and we just didn't know it from the beginning? I mean, it's certainly been corrupted. It's certainly been ridiculous as far as I've been aware of them. And it's just one of those Trojan horse situations where they set up a fight that they're not actually fighting. You know, they claim we're going after these truly terrible people, but they're not because those folks are unaffected. Those folks were never going to get much traction on social media anyway. Those folks were known and weren't going to get advertisers to pay attention to them. It was only their attempt to smear people through guilt from association that they were used to combat mainstream normal organizations like accuracy in media. And what really, really worried me for quite some time is that classrooms across the country, including red states like Florida, were using southern poverty law center content to educate young people. Well, and it's not just that. They were targeting...

The groups that are the good guys as well. They were calling people hate groups that were truly supporting liberty and freedom of speech and Christian values. That's exactly it. You know, the strategy was take truly bad people, make a list of them, and then mix your actual political enemies who are actually a threat to you into the list of bad people, and then you could say, well, these are all bad people. It's similar to the Antipa Strategy or against fascism. Thus, if you were against you, you're a truly evil person because we're anti-fascism. It's like the cliche of people saying, well, we're the good guys club, and we go around to punch the bad guy. So if we punch you, you must be a bad guy. But what really worried me, as I said, they were using a classroom curriculum service in Florida called New Zella. Now, New Zella is a clever service. They curate curriculum, I'm sorry, they curate current events and get them available for curriculum. And they have clever technology where you could write these articles at different reading levels. Well, they were partnering with the Southern Poverty Law Center, the New York Times 1619 Project, Marxist historian Howard Zinn. And the way it would work would be these articles would say Newzella on the top, not necessarily the actual author of it. So if your kid brings home content from the Southern Poverty Law Center or the 1619 project, you're worried. But if it says Newzella, you're none the wiser. And they were using COVID relief funding to push Newzela in the classrooms in Florida. Now, when you say they were, is it in the rearview mirror or is it still in use in parts of Florida or all of Florida? Well, the funny thing is we spent about two and a half years calling them out and going after them, and then one day we logged onto their site and looked at their content partners, and we saw three of them missing an accuracy media. We no longer saw the New York Times 1619 project. We no longer saw Howard Vinn. God bless Florida and God bless America. We no longer see the Southern Poverty Law Center listed as a content partner for Newzella. And we've tried repeatedly to reach out to them to see and get a comment on them, never heard back from them. So then we created an alias and registered to join their site and claim to be a teacher so that we can see internally their content partners, and all three of them are gone. So they're definitely gone. They're not using another name, a fictitious name, or some other cover. That New Zealand is around, but those content partners are no longer listed and are no longer amongst the content that Newzella provides. That's a win. Joining us for one more segment, Adam Gillette. Another few minutes with the president of accuracy and media, Adam Galad. Adam, years ago, I was able to show the listeners provide the proof that... The Democrat Party uses the mainstream media as its PR wing. And we shared a series of headlines, and I predicted that we would see legislation within a few days of all of these headlines hitting across the country. Lo and behold, it was that very day we saw the headlines. They were priming the pump. They were getting the American people ready for this legislation that was anti-second amendment. When you look at what the media is doing as it relates to the Southern Poverty Law Center, Where is SPLC in this arranged marriage? Are they taking talking points? Are they providing talking points? How is this working? Because the media is not covering this story. Well, they... were finally forced to cover it a little bit starting yesterday. And naturally, they're just providing political cover for the Southern Poverty Law Center. You know, NBC was running stories saying, aren't their informants weren't a secret to the DOJ. They were partnering with the DOJ. Everybody was in on it. They were working together. Everything was above board. One could only dream of having a publicist as good as the mainstream media if they were a far-left organization. You know, I'd like to at least think that there's money-changing hands, and they're sending a bill and an invoice at the end of every month for the publicity work that NBC, and to a degree, sadly still, even CBS do for the Southern Poverty Law Center and other far-left groups. It's disgusting. It's not informing people. It's deliberately misinforming them. So does the mask come off now? I mean, they're accusing the Department of Justice and Todd Blanche in particular of lying. And Todd Blanche said, look, we only laid out to the grand jury part of the evidence. We got a bunch more evidence. And so at this point, without knowing what the legal outcome of this litigation is going to be, what is your prediction of what is the future of the Southern Poverty Law Center? Are they ripping the mask off and they're just going to be who they are? Are they going to keep trying to pretend? Well, they're going to keep trying to pretend. You know, let's remember that after the United Rally, their budget, I think, tripled to around $150 million annually or something outrageous. So sure, they're going to take this as a hit, and we're not going to see tremendously positive press coverage for them for a couple weeks, and then this story will blow over and they will continue on because their allies in the media are certainly going to continue to provide cover. And what I think is truly outrageous as someone who runs a nonprofit organization. They're saying, well, but do you, Jay, knew about it? What about your donors? You think your donors who were giving you $150 million wanted to fund extremist racist radicals? I doubt that that was in their fundraising communications. I doubt that was in their annual reports. And okay, maybe at an organization, you can't massively publicize every little thing you're doing and how the sausage is made. But you know all of your high-dollar donors knew that? The people who were relying on your organization for the hate list. Do you think they knew that?

No, I can guarantee they absolutely did not. So you're engaged in massive deception. Well, again, we're an organization. We do Hidden Camera investigative journalism. I think we use small deception to expose larger deceptions. But these folks, as a matter of their work, were engaged in a larger deception every day, and their donors should be outraged. What do you think the outcome of this trial is going to be? Do you think it reaches a jury or a courtroom or is it settled? I think much more than likely settled. And certainly, you know, as soon as we see any kind of change in the administration, we probably see something different happen or maybe an appeal or whatever else or exonerated after the fact. We were called into a meeting, and we were told the news that Terry Smith, our meteorologist here in Florida's capital city for a long time was going to be leaving us. And, you know, we were rolling tape when people got word. And it just, it wasn't pretty. when they heard that Terry was leaving the morning show. And, well. Yeah, it was, it was tough. A lot of, a lot of emotion, Terry. And, uh, you're so sweet. How, how long have we been together on this program? Way. way, way, way too long. 21 years. I started doing the weather there in the capital city in 2005. Yeah, I started. I just finished my 24th years. So you've been with me 21 of the 24 years, Terry. Isn't that nuts? It's almost like we're engaged or something. I mean, it is a long time to be colleagues, but never having met in person. But you've been with us through storms. You've been with us through beautiful weather. Tell us about this season of your life coming to an end.

That 3.30 in the morning alarm has been ranking for a very long time. And you know what I mean? I do. I'm a morning person by nature. I'm not a middle of the night person by nature, but what has kept me going for so long is how much I love doing this and how much fun I have. I mean, as a meteorologist, there's nothing better than working at the Weather Channel where all you do all day long is talk about weather and look at weather. It's like being back at college except that I have about four times the number of meteorologists that discuss these things with. So, and then, you know, doing it for your college town is so awesome because I'm still such a big FSU Seminole and I still have lots of friends in the area too, so it's been a lot of fun. But I realize that if I want to do some other things in life besides just run my mouth about the weather, I need a different schedule. I'm going to do less of this. I am going to transition into more of a fill-in kind of role and help out here and there. So you might hear me once in a while, but I won't have any official, you know, shift that I'm working. And I'll get a chance to work with some of my current stations, but some of the other stations that I don't typically work with. That'll be fun. How different is it doing the weather for a region, a part of the country that you normally aren't paying as much attention to? It's very interesting, and it's a nice little learning curve. That's the other thing that kind of fun about doing this job is that I'm always learning something new. Like I used to cover the weather in the Los Angeles area, for instance. And that is so different from the central part of the country and the eastern part of the country. And it's really interesting to see how their weather varies compared to what we're used to dealing with here. I mean, I've lived between Georgia and Florida since I was four years old, so I'm very familiar with the southeast, and that's my favorite region to kind of track. But it's fascinating to learn about how other places work. I've got Boston that I have to forecast for. They've got snow, and that's, you know, that's not something we deal with very often here. But for them, it's a walk in the park. So when is your last official forecast day here in Tallahassee? It's Friday. Yeah. In two more days. Yeah. Yep. Well, you know, we pulled the marching band in and decided the best way for us to end our segments, even though you're going to do weather for the rest of the week for us, Terry. Yeah. I mean, right? Oh, yeah. Absolutely.

I'm like, oh, no, no, no, no, no, this is a valuable place, at least for our format, to enhance the show. and put out content, some of it very lighthearted, some of it just a good distraction, some of it very informative, some of it informative times 10. For example, we have the MK Ultra blog up. We also now have a blog that is one of the best. explanations of the history of Islam and the life story of Muhammad. That is not in dispute. It's based on his own writings and his own travels and the historical record of other countries and civilizations. He was a guy. But you'll learn so much. And so there's like Islam 101.

I've told you for years that you have to understand this and know about it. You have to. And so, you know, this radio program isn't like the perfect format for that. We can wet your appetite, and I hope I have. But if you want to learn, you go to my blog page. on this topic. And it's there. It's there waiting for you. So I'm challenging you to go there and learn about it. And I would go so far as to have your middle school, high school kids, maybe even college kids learn about it so that they understand. So that if, as we've seen happen on public schools, Islamist outreach, and they're handing out these scars for the young girls to cover their face. Ask an Islamic woman who believes they live in a faith of equality, why they're covering their face and the men aren't. I watched an interview where that happened. She was just, she was dumbstruck. She didn't know what to say. She said that's a good point. But it's just what we do. Okay. Speaking of the Middle East, United Arab Emirates has said it's leaving OPEC. Now, normally you would go yawn. Yes, so. But we're sitting with four and a half, five dollar gas prices. This is an interesting move. There are analysts all over. I mean, it's like it's like shotgun blast at 100 yards. It's going everywhere. with it's going to raise gas prices, it's going to lower gas prices. The consensus on what I've read is it will lower the pressure on prices some because by leaving OPEC, they can produce however much oil they want and they've said they're going to increase their production. In the grand scheme of oil, the UAE, it's not that big a deal, but it might help ease pressures. We'll see. Watchdog group exposing the teacher unions have, they're just a political machine. They funneled more than $1 billion to liberal causes in the last decade. One billion dollars of, if you're a teacher, your dues. Just saying. And former aide Anthony Fauci, a senior advisor for 16 years, has been charged with a conspiracy to destroy records by a grand jury. Uh-oh. And what were those records? COVID-related, just saying. I have some great mentors in the faith, in the NFL, and in college that taught me the importance of seeking first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added unto you. If I don't do anything else, when I wake up, I spend time with the Lord. It's not an appointment that I have written in pencil. It's an appointment that I have written in blood. That's the blood of Christ. I encourage you to prioritize your time spent with the Lord. Don't just do a drive-by. Get the Bible. Read while you drink your coffee. He encouraged people listening to place their hope in an unchanging God. Our faith cannot be based on circumstances. It has to be based on the sovereignty and the omnipotence of God Almighty because God is immutable. He does not change. We do. Politics matter because policies matter. Policies matter because people matter. We understand that, but we have to keep it in a proper perspective. When I lack perspective, I say, Lord, which way should I go? You know the plan you have in my life. You are the chief architect of my life, so I don't want to seek after anything else, but your will, your plan, your purpose, and I do it. And so politics or... working as a bartender the way my father did or whatever endeavor we have found in life, that is a way for us to bring glory to God, to use the gifts and the opportunities he's offered us to be his ambassadors in the world. But ultimately, our ultimate goal.

is to live in all eternity with our Creator, who created us for the purpose of living with Him for all eternity. That influences, I hope, every aspect of my life. The struggle on a daily basis as a Christian is to remind ourselves of this, to remind ourselves that the purpose of our life is to cooperate with God's plan. We're all given different gifts and different opportunities. And the biblical teachings on this are very clear. To those who much has been given, much is expected. And we will be asked to account for that at the end of time. We'll be asked to account for the opportunities and the gifts that we were given. And God will ask of us, our creator, what did you do with them? Did you use them to glorify my kingdom? Did you use it to help your fellow man? Did you use it for the purposes that I've taught you to use them for? Or did you use them for yourself? Were your treasures stored up on earth or in heaven? And to me, I try to allow that to influence me in everything that I do. Well now. By the way. That was something he pushed out when he was running for president, making it abundantly clear where his faith is, not in a higher power, but in his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and he spoke of the expectations that are upon people of faith. I hope that encourages you. I hope that hearing from about, reading the quotes of one, Scott Turner, and hearing our former Speaker of the House, our former U.S. Senator and Florida's, you know, I mean, my gosh, could you be any more proud of how he's conducted himself as the Secretary of State? I don't know. You bigot. You narrow-minded, bigot. Yeah, they're going to shut down all academic programs centered on sexual orientation and gender identity. The last time I was sharing a little bit about myself, sometimes I pick stuff just because of the name or I like a certain color or, you know, I'm a little simple like that. When you say pick stuff, you mean like shopping? Well, anything, you know. Okay. You're drawn to whatever. Guns, news stories, anything. Yeah, I'm drawn to. So that's why you have a gun with a chartreuse handle. Yeah, that is correct. Okay. Well, this story interested me because of the name of where it took place, which is Chihuahua, Mexico. Of course. That's right. Well... President Claudia Sheinbaum says the federal government was not informed about a Chihuahua State security operation involving U.S. agents that ended up in a deadly crash. Unfortunately, four people were killed, including two Americans, and the head of state investigative agency. When a convoy vehicle fell into a ravine and exploded, they were... They just dismantled one of Mexico's largest synthetic drug labs. So you could only imagine how that happened. Help me out here. Is she upset that we were in the country? Yeah, she says, and she emphasized that any cooperation with the U.S. must be federally authorized and ordered a review of whether the operation violated national sovereignty. Now, I thought about what you said, which is, hey, you want the problem taking care of. Do it your...

yourself. It's been so long. There's been so many dead Americans that now we have to come and do it whether you like it or not. And yeah. Well, I'm glad that happened. I mean, I'm sad that people die. I just had a couple of Americans pass. That's not good. But we're getting stuff done. Yeah, she's a little embarrassed. Okay. She'll get over it. Claudia. We talk about faith and religion and different religions. And we talk about issues of race and ethnicity. nothing to pat anybody on the back about around here it's just to me you should be able to talk about whatever you want to talk about you should be able to talk you should be able to have the conversation and this is a conversation that I want to have now I hope I don't have it alone I'm happy to And I'm going to share a story and then we'll open up the phone lines. A British woman, 56-year-old mom named Wendy Duffy, very healthy, nothing wrong with her medically. But she is suffering from irreconcilable grief. She is a heartbroken mom. Her only son, an aspiring musician at the age of 22, choked to death four years ago. He fell asleep, eating a sandwich, and a wedge of tomato got lodged in his windpipe, and he choked to death. I mean, how do you account for that? She went to clinic. She saw therapists. She has been inconsolable. for four years. She tried suicide nine months after he died. And in fact was on life support for a while. But she came through that. And she decided, and I'm going to quote her,

She said, I can't wait to die. It will be hard for everyone, but I want to die. I'll have a smile on my face when I do, so please be happy for me. My life, my choice. She wanted to go to Switzerland because in Switzerland, assisted suicide is legal. And the Swiss... will give someone temporary citizenship to come into their country to do this. They literally pay a small fee and then pay the clinic roughly $14,000 U.S. dollars to end their life. She preferred a needer, N-E-A-T-E-R, death, quoting, I could step off a motorway bridge or a tower block, but that would leave anyone finding me dealing with that for the rest of their lives. And so she went to Switzerland. She went to the Pegasus assisted suicide clinic in Bezal. I can confirm that Wendy Duffy at her own request was assisted to die on April 24th. The procedure was completed without incident and in full compliance with her wishes. said Rudy Habegar, the founder. I can also confirm that neither we nor any of the professional staff assessing her mental capacity had any doubt as to her intention, understanding, and independence of both thought and action. In historic terms at English law, hers was a case of sane suicide.

She said that it was the only way her spirit could be free. She could not cope with the loss of her son. 850-205 WFLA, 850-205-9352. This is happening in Canada. It happens in Switzerland. So far, the UK is saying no. So far, I believe the United States has said no. But what are your thoughts on the subject? If you'd like to weigh in, I appreciate your call. 850-205 WFLA. Obviously what's missing is any view of this through the lens of a Christian faith. I don't know if anyone spoke into her life. I don't know if any of her siblings know Christ, no God's word. But. Clearly, this was a woman that could not manage her grief. Let's go to the phone lines. Lynette, thanks for calling in. Yes. In my family, I had an uncle who was a World War II veteran. I remember him at two years of age. He's suicided, and nobody talked about him. Because, well, he was in so much pain. So people were not, they understood it. But on the other hand, this woman set a poor example for anybody living. One of my best friends looks at me calmly and says, I have Alzheimer's. And she is a great example of continuing to live, dealing with a problem. and being an inspiration of the rest of us. This woman is a negative viewpoint, a negative dealing with this terrible thing that happened to her. Tell me this. Your uncle who died of suicide, you said he was in pain. He had a lot of shrapnoid wounds. Okay, so he was in pain physically. It wasn't from emotional distress from what he did in World War II or what he saw. No, I'm sure there was some of that there because the family doesn't talk about him. I was told this by a cousin. So what is your view of assisted suicide even in your uncle's case? Or I'm sorry, a suicide, not assisted. Okay, she didn't want to answer that question. I understand that. Or she had to move on. She said her call may drop during the conversation. There you go. Maybe she'll call back. That's fine. 16 minutes after the hour, if you'd like to join the conversation, the question is, what are your thoughts? I mean, she made, this woman made one point that I thought was considerate? She said, if I end my life in a grisly manner,

The person who finds me is going to be stuck with that. And so I'd rather do this in a manner that's, if you will, prescribed. That doesn't leave a mess behind. Now, it leaves a different kind of mess. I don't know what her siblings thought of this. They weren't allowed to know any details. She did not disclose anything about her travel or anything because under UK law, they could then be prosecuted potentially as accessories. So she kept all of that to herself. Went to Switzerland and a clinic there that legally provides assisted suicide services, and she ended her life with the help of others. We're having a discussion on just the issue of suicide. Obviously, if someone decides that they're going to end their life, it doesn't matter whether it's against the law or not. They're going to do it, and it's not like you're throwing them in jail. But the issue is assisted suicide. And I was just curious, Lynette, thanks for calling back. What is your view of your uncle's decision to end his life? I can understand his decision. But it was evil. This woman had even less or a greater effect of evil because there will be a wave of suicides now. Now that this story is told, the effects of your actions tell what kind of a person you are. And in this case, I don't have that much sympathy for, even though I can feel where she was since I have only one son and I would be devastated. But, and that doesn't even think of your account that, according to the Bible, suicide is evil. The effect of what you've had is terrible. Thank you, Lynette. Yeah, I've talked for years about the fact that suicide is a very selfish act because of the damage it leaves behind. The Christian component, we'll get to here in a second, but I want to get one more caller in. Walter, thanks for calling in. What do you think? I think I'm a first-time caller. There's a biblical point of view that people might miss here is, and I think that's what you get in touch on, is the Christian aspect of it, is because I'm from a big family, and we've had a suicide in our family. And... It was devastating to the family, wasn't it? It hurts. It hurts. It still hurts.

And it's a hole in your heart. Yeah. And the thing that is for somebody, I believe, to go and promote it, what does that say about the people that are promoting this and offering this service is, I think, is another angle that you need to observe here because I just think it's reckless. Thank you, Walter. Appreciate that. Yeah, I want to touch on, you know, the Bible talks about grief. It says that Christians grieve differently than others. It doesn't say that grieving is wrong. It says that Christians grieve differently. Why? Because death is not a period. It's a comma. The story goes on. eternity's a heck of a lot longer than whatever time we're assigned here on earth. I can't tell you what happens to the soul of somebody who might ask God to forgive them for what they're about to do. I don't know. I don't have that answer. But clearly this woman and many others. that choose this don't know Christ and don't have an active relationship with God. Well, but Preston, you're not in that kind of pain. You're not in that level of grief. That's true. There are a lot of things that happen in a fallen world that I wish didn't. To you, to me, to friends, to family, you open up the newspaper and you just shake your head. We live in a fallen world. But the idea of assisting somebody in... killing themselves is to me doing the work of Satan because Satan kills image bearers of God and every single living person whether they believe in God or not is an image bearer they all reflect we all reflect God

I thought it was a good story to think about, and I thought it was useful to bring it up. I certainly don't spend a lot of time on these things, but I do think it is important. I have walked families through this that have lost a loved one to suicide. It's agony. It just, for the family, it just, it's a hurt that never leaves, as was just shared. 28 minutes past the hour. Friends, we have nations assisting people in ending their life. Now, I am of the opinion that when it's time, it's time. Sometimes dying in a fallen world isn't pretty. But I believe there's purpose behind every moment that God gives you. That's just, that's my conviction. I believe at times we are almost sent to see doctors to be a testimony. That maybe somebody in a waiting room is supposed to hear something about Jesus. That may be a nurse or a doctor. I believe in divine appointments. I don't believe in coincidence. That's just, that's the approach I've had in my life. I'm better at it sometimes than others in recognizing that. But the National Day of Prayer is coming up a week from tomorrow, and I hope you will be there. I have done, I have been burdened. It was funny. Our pastor was talking about asking God for a burden is one of those things. It's like, I didn't ask for it. I just grabbed this. I took it upon myself. I was under personal conviction. And I've just taken it upon myself to remind you every day for the last however many weeks, four or five weeks about this National Day of Prayer and that I hope you will come. If you are within the driving distance of the capital city, I'm doing all I can. I hope it makes a difference. I don't know if it will. But I have done what I can do, and I'm going to do more. A week from tomorrow, I've not booked a guest in the final hour next week because I'm going to teach you how to pray. You're like, what? Yeah, I know, right? On a secular radio program, yep, I'm going to do it. Oh, boy. Yeah, no, I am because it matters. It is the single most important thing we can do. It's not last on the list. Oh, well, I'll pray. The headline to this story on Not the Bee from Dr. Tart. They have fictitious names for a lot of their reporters. But the stories are all true. The Babylon Bee is satire, not the bee. It's all true stories. All right. Here was the headline. Here was the headline. I've never seen a congresswoman get humiliated like this. It was spectacular. Okay, I had to click that. I felt as host of this program obligated to find out what happened. Here's what happens. The head of the EPA, Administrator Lee Zeldin, I believe former member of Congress. is sitting down across on a very small table subcommittee with Democrat representative Rosa DeLoro. Now, she's one of those ladies that wears multiple rings on every finger and thumb. She's she looks like kind of a gypsy woman. Cool. All right. That's your look, eclectic. That's fine. massive glasses, probably, you know, wearing earrings that you could drown in if you slipped into a pool with those things on. And here's how the encounter goes. It's brilliant. When climate change is flooding our streets. poisoning our air, driving up health care and disaster courts, how can the EPA justify abandoning that duty to protect Americans to appease polluters under the false flag of economic growth? Following the law, Section 202 of the Clean Air Act, where is this saying anything about fighting global climate change? Loper Bright, Supreme Court case. You're familiar with it? No, maybe others are not, but let me ask. But that's really important. As a member of Congress, Loper Bright says that we as an agency don't have the authority to get creative if Section 202 of the Clean Air Act. No, no, but you don't have, excuse me. You do not have the right to say climate change does not exist, that it's a hoax, and that's where this administration is coming from. I understand you're upset that you don't know what Loperbrite is. Do you know what the major policies doctrine is? I'm upset because you know what the major policies doctrine is? You're a member of Congress. Well, you have moved from someone who defended the environment to all of a sudden. I'm very defensive about not knowing the two biggest landmark Supreme Court cases of the last year with regards to your question. You are very defensive about changing your policy and your positions with regard to the environment. Now, do just tell me. You want me to tell you what the two biggest Supreme Court cases are of the last few years? This is what I want you to tell me. Michigan versus EPA. Well, West Virginia versus EPA. You know, you're here because you need money from us. So halt for the second and wait for the questions and answer the question. Well, I answered your question, and you didn't like my answer because you don't know what Loperbrite is because you don't know what the major policies doctrine is. Because you're asking me, you're asking about Section 202 of the Clean Air Act and you don't read it. You don't know what it says. Listen, and what you want to do is to deny you want to. No, I actually read the law. I do my homework.

Really? You're just somebody who likes to have the microphone on. You know what I have to do? I read the law. I read the Supreme Court cases. And I would say, no, what you should do for your constituents is actually read statute. The budget is at real risk. Read your Supreme Court. This is the Appropriations Committee. Oh, you're coming here. You care about science. Now you're threatening to defund it. Oh, my God. No, you don't fund. Because you don't know what Loperbray is. Because you don't know what the major policies doctrine is. Your message to our folks at the EPA is that you wanted to fund us. to listen to this BS. BS. Do you think I made up these cases? Yeah, I think you have made up a whole lot of BS. I made up Loper Bright. I made up West Virginia versus EPA. I made up Michigan versus EPA. Just so you know. Loper Bright versus Raimondo. 2024 Supreme Court decision that overruled the Chevron deference doctrine. A 40-year-old legal precedent that required courts to defer to federal agencies reasonable interpretations of ambiguous laws. It was a 6-3 ruling. It was a slam dunk. And this woman in Congress doesn't know the first thing about it. And I love that Lee Zeldin just crushed her. He just, he wrote her a check. and cashed it right there in front of her. I loved it. Loved every bit of that. That's, and what you just heard, she doesn't like that there are people that think climate change is a hoax because it is. She's not paid attention to the people fleeing the sinking ship. But the fact that she's a member of Congress and is sitting in front of the EPA administrator without any knowledge of the two most significant rulings that impact their committee meeting is a staggering reflection, but a good reflection of where we are today. We've elected people like this. People like this, we didn't. Her constituents put her in office.
