And it's a brand new month. Yeah. The month of May is here. We survived that April situation. Oh, what? How do we even get through all of that? Full-on situation. Yeah, it was. But now, May, May. It's the time for new beginnings. And. Well, it's Ken's actual birthday today. Yes, it is. And tomorrow is the beginning of my birthday month. That's tradition. That's tradition. Don't you look, don't you give the camera that look. I'm here to say it is officially all these, but I'll be gone for part of it, so you won't have to worry. Yeah, see, yeah. On those days, you don't have to bring me anything. Oh, thank you. Or write any kind of, you know, tribute or just take those days off because I'll be occupied. Yeah, three weeks from tomorrow is your birthday. It's a Saturday. Yeah, we better not mess that one. Don't you mess that up. No. And it's a three-day weekend. It's great. Oh, boy. How is the day? Well, it's a good day. You know, we always say Fridays are hard. They are hard. Sometimes, and Fridays are hard. And I'll, you know. As the afternoon goes on, it'll start to wear on me. But getting to Friday is hard. Well, yes. Oh, my gosh. It's nice when you have an easy, like usually on a Friday, I would just have, you know, camping or whatever, but I have a 13-year-old who's spending the night with me. So I have to conserve my energy today. Oh, yeah. Don't go crazy. Taste yourself. Maybe a nap. I don't know. It's not the same as usual Friday. Yeah, I finished here. And it took a little bit longer yesterday because our friend Quinn was teaching me a brand new audio program. Program. Quinn, the professor. Yeah, he was the professor. He was a very good coach. And I think the new program will be, will be fantastic. Yeah, I think as we say with all of those things, there's always a little bit of a learning curve. But once you get that figured out, I think it'll make your process a whole lot faster and simpler. Just in time for golf season. I know you've been practicing getting out of here more quickly, which I get. I mean, that's, but now you have motivation. Yeah. And when you say learning curve, for me, it's a bigger curve. Bigger curve. Bigger curve. I know your chalk talking about it. Bigger curve. So. Is that a new shirt?
This is a new, I have not worn this shirt. I've had it for a little bit. I don't remember it. It has all the little drinks on it. Oh, it's got drinks all right. But then you just bought another shirt that you said had drinks on it. Yeah. Mm-hmm. Oh, I got a lot of shirts that have drinks. I like it. More drinks more often. Festive. Mm-hmm. But so, so Quinn is showing me this new program and I'm, and I think, oh, this is going to be great. In time, it's going to, it's definitely going to save time. Yeah. Getting things done. Right. But now today, different deal. I'm going to go back to the old program just to the one to know because I've got to move quick. Oh, okay. Got to move quick, but don't hurry. Yes. Is that how it goes? Be quick, but don't hurry. Yes. Who said that? I don't know. John Wooden. Did he really? Yeah, I was always afraid. I should know that. Basketball stuff, yeah. I thought it was Mark Twain. Mark Twain. Oh, no. Or Thomas Edison or something. So, anyway, so that was great. And then I left here. I went through McDonald's. I got myself a snack wrap, and I got myself my Diet Coke. And then I thought, you know what I'm going to do? I'm going to do something that I don't know that I've ever done before. What? I'm going to eat my snack wrap. I'm going to see if I can do this, time it out perfect, while I'm going through the car wash. Oh my God, we have a direct match. Really? Direct match. Not McDonald's, but I have a little story where I almost died in the car wash because I was eating in the car wash. Oh my God, that is so funny. And I was very, you know, strategic. I waited until I got through it. And it was pretty busy at the car wash, as you might expect, because, you know. And so I'm going through there and I wait until all the foam is on the person in front of me. And then it's like, and then this gives you an idea of how quickly I can eat. Anyway, I just had one snack wrap. And, you know, they're fairly small. Yeah. But I had that thing finished as the car was getting blown dry. And I come out. It was wonderful. I had my Jimmy John sitting there. It was all wrapped up. It was one of those unwitches, which is like a lettuce wrap. And the guy, you know, the guys come out and they spray. And he's looking down into my car. And I started to unwrap it. And I'm like... And then as soon as I passed him, there was nobody in front of me. I was like, yes. But I choked a little on it. And I thought, oh, my God, this is a terrible way to die. If you start choking, you kick it out. What are you supposed to do? And the bells, the whistles are going off. You can't call anybody. By the time you come out the other end, you're dead. That is a crazy coincidence. Yeah. Under the cover of the car wash, I was also mowing on something. No one can see anything. So anyway. So that was great. I got out of there and then I crumbled up my, you know, the wrapper put it in the bag. And then I was off to the grocery store for the lottery tickets. Oh, boy. Oh, I'm on this hit five situation. Still not a winner.
A record high jackpot, $1.85 million. That's, and I did not get to get mine yesterday. You didn't miss a thing. And so I'm on it today. So I go, and once again, there's a line at the kiosk. You know, it's people. And I'm kind of overlooking, you know, and one guy was an older guy, and he was playing the. uh, mega millions and, uh, something. And then, of course, they hit five. Right. Then the next guy was all hit five. He was all. And are they pretty efficient when they're doing it? Most of those people are. Yeah. It's kind of like me when I go to the gym in January and everybody's parked. They're like, just giving up. You're never going to stick with this. Yeah. Oh. I can't find a parking spot. Mm-hmm. Because you know after this, after this hits, then you won't have those lines. Oh, it'll be, yeah. It'll go back to its normal thing. But, I mean, it's, you know, it's 18 times more than what the normal price is. It's pretty crazy. And Quinn bought tickets, too, right? I did. And I, I, I, I, Obviously, I did not win. Unfortunately, I would probably have not been coming in this morning. But I did have a question. Is somebody who's only a teaching assistant at Gamblers University? Right. I wanted to ask some theory. So I went, I've never bought these before. And they're $1 a ticket. Yes. But then the lady there told me, because I go up and I'm like, I go and ask the person, I want to play the hit five. I don't know how to do it. And so she's like, okay, I'll walk you through it. And she said there's options to put like $3 on a ticket or $10 on a ticket. What does that mean? That just means that you're going to, well, I think. You'll get more. Well, like I did two $10 tickets when I did it and it just printed out all the 10 numbers on one ticket. Oh. But you can't, you can't spend any more, right? No. Like the other ones? It's a dollar per play. Yeah, there's other ones where you can do $2, $3, you can bet on the Powerball. Okay, so if I buy like a $10 ticket, it's just 10 entries on the same. Oh, I feel so, I made the girl do 15 individuals. Oh. That's a rookie move. That's a rookie move. You said, no, no, no. They're all going to be separate. Well, yeah, well, because I was like, I don't want to put $10. I don't want to put all my eggs in one basket. I was like, I don't know what this does to my singular ticket. So I didn't want to juice it on just one. So you thought it would be a $10 one time. I did. Oh, that's what I thought. So you have. I have 15 individual. Oh, my gosh. I think as parents, we failed. I think we should have set him up better for success. I'll bring him in the break. They're in my office because I want Dave to scan them to make sure I'll just anything. I'll scan them. There's got to be at least, I mean, your odds are, you've probably got at least two free tickets in there. And then maybe you hit $15. It goes.
Two out of five is a free ticket. Three out of five is $15. Four out of five is $150. Oh, okay. Five out of five is the jackpot. Gotcha. So that's how it's all staggered. And I have my free ones, but I put it in my pocket. I think it's on the floor at my house somewhere, but I got to find those. I mean. I've gotten my free entries, and I'm going to have it printed up all individually. I'd like 30, please. The way to do it. Better odds. Anyway, so I did that, and then I got home, and I knew that I needed to be outside. And I totally felt so bad for my dog because when I got in, I said, So we're going to go for a walk. Just hang on. I've got to get outside. I've got to get some yard work done first. Yeah. So I get out there. I'm picking up pine cones. I'm raking. I'm crawling under. bushes to clear stuff out. And I was only out there maybe an hour and a half. And I came in and I was just like, I am dead. It was warm. It was warm. And I just, I was just so tired. Yeah. And then I found out that wine night was happening. Oh boy. And so, and then I, then that changed everything. It's like, well, sorry, Maui, you're stuck here. I did open the door for her, so she got to, you know, have the door open and feel some fresh air. But I had to take a shower. Oh, wine comes first. Sorry, Maui. Oh, my gosh. Daddy got to get his wine on. Yes. I was so tired. And also very, very hungry, which you know what that means. That means two plates coming your way. Two absolutely full plates, cleaned them off. Would you have the Salat, sensible salad? I had the giant sensible salad and then also the smash burger. And I originally said, oh, I'm not going to get the burger. That's too heavy. I got the salad. That's going to be great. And then I'm going to get the cheeseburger cassidia. Ooh. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And I was looking at that. And then right when I panicked, right when Carl came to, you ready to order? And I said, yeah, I'm going to do the salad, of course. And then. It is Ryan Seacrest here. There was a recent social media trend which consisted of flying on a plane with no music, no movies, no entertainment. But a better trend would be going to chumba casino.com. The smash burger. Oh. Game time decision. Yeah, it was a game time decision. I just reverted back to hunger. Sometimes that happens. I did. I made a panic, a panic order at Mary Hill the other day. It was that thing with salami and stuff and I had never had it. But I also was like, well, I'm really hungry. And I'm not, I don't have my, I don't have my wits about me. Yeah. You get past the zone and then you don't make a decision. You just don't know what to do. I was definitely, yeah, I think it was. One of those, like when you go to the grocery store hungry and you buy way more, well, that's what happened to me. I was like, oh, gosh. And then while I'm there at the place, they have a basketball game on and it's playoff basketball. Yeah. And I glance over at the score. And I thought, well, that can't be right. It's the second quarter. Yeah. And the Knicks are beating the Hawks. They're up by 50 points. 75 to 25 in the second quarter. Yes. What? It was unbelievable. And I looked and I thought, isn't that? NBA? That's the real Knicks and that's the real hockey. This is real playoff basketball. So that's when I texted Quinn. I was hilarious. It was very funny. And I said, hey, I got the Knicks minus 50. Do I have a good bet? Because that was just, that was just bizarre. Who are the Hawks? Atlanta. Atlanta. Oh, Atlanta Hawks. Yeah. And have they played another playoff game and have they scored more than that? They have. The Hawks had actually won two games, but the Knicks figured them out. I guess so. And it was in Hawkland on their home court. And they were out, right? Yep, that was the end of it. So the Knicks are moving on. Hawks are going to Cancun. So. But to, and just a quick thought, but that if you are a playoff team. And it's 3-2 in the series. Yeah. You're on your home court. You're thinking, as competitors, you're thinking, hey, we went on our home court. Then we got game seven. We might win this series. But then when you're, you know, you take that to the opposite, you're on your home court and you're totally being destroyed. Yeah. Like, it was over. I had never seen anything that lopsided. No. I had gone to the gym and I just had the score on my little, like, score app so I could monitor it. and I think I finished at the gym at like 4, 15, and the game started at 4. And by the time I got up to my apartment, I was like, I don't even need to watch this game. Like, it's already over there, already up like 18. You didn't have any action on that, did you? No, but my nuggets are done and the Celtics lost. Oh, my bets are cooked people. Oh, no. Yep, they're done. The Lakers lost? Is that what you said? Well, no, the Nuggets lost. I had them winning the whole thing, and they lost in the first round. That's how much I know. That's Brian D just said, and Denver is out too. Yep. And then the Celtics had a chance to close it out, and I needed them to win by...
in game six are better. Oh, that's right. So they're going to a game seven. Well, you know what? At least you have your other tickets. At least you got 15 tickets to look over. The both were. Hey, real quick, do you have to be a Washington resident to play? No. You don't. No. And then Linda says, I always do five individual tickets. I heard your odds are way better that way. Yep, that's what I heard. Yeah. And then Jen says, oh, Quinn, that's so cute. Oh, man. Then I got home, I had to organize some things, had to pack up some stuff, and so it was a fairly busy evening. But I got to sleep at a very good time. I don't know that I slept very well, and here's why. I was, when I made the bed the other day, the sleep vibe thing fell behind the, the bed. And I did not notice that until this morning when I was trying to pack it up because I'm leaving right after the show. Yeah. And so I said, that's why I'm, it is a real thing. It makes a difference. It is. It is a real thing. Crazy. But anyway, so that's, I will have it for tonight. That's good. If I survive the day. If you make it. I don't. But boy, it was a pretty day yesterday. Oh, my gosh. Yeah. I felt bad for my poor dog, but. Well, my day consisted of a few things. A run in with a wasp. Uh, near death experience in the car wash. That's right. Yeah. Uh, scouting. Uh, golf scouting. Yeah, I need to hear that. And then, and here's your chance to win some more money, Quinn, because there will be new lines on the golf. So excited. I will go through the footage here in a minute, but there was a, one of the video, uh, things, I actually say, and the line has moved. Oh, in favor of me or against me? No, favor of your friend Sam. Oh. He, that driver, he's, uh, let me just say this about the Qualshan driving range. Um, while it's wonderful that it is grass, but it's mostly kind of dirt right now, the walk down is scary. Oh, yeah. The walk up is treacherous, especially holding your golf bag. I just have my little Sunday bag, so I have maybe five or six clubs in it. But still, walking, it was hot, and we're out in the sun. And, um... Hey guys, it's Ryan. I want to tell you about my new pastime, Chumba Casino. Chumba Casino has been around for over a decade delivering the most fun you can have online, play social casino style games for free, anytime, anywhere. So sign up at chumbacino.com. No purchase necessary. PGW. Boy, were prohibited by law. See, terms and conditions, 21 plus. How many people were on the driving range? There was a guy getting a lesson, and then somebody Sam knew there were only five or six, but the place, I mean, it was full of golfers. They were all.
It was a good day for golf. That golf course looks daunting. I mean, I was just kind of looking at it, and I thought, I like my little nine hole out in the valley. That's kind of my speed right now. So I left here, and I wanted to go home and get all my stuff because I was going to head to the valley for an event. And so I wanted to get everything done while I had a little time. So I was sitting out on my back deck, minding my own business, by the way. And I had a soda, like an apple soda, and I was just sipping on it. And I was enjoying the deck. And it wasn't the dangler, kind of, it was more like a yellow jacket, really thick-bodied. some, you know what, SOB. So I start talking to it. I have my spray in my hand. I said, I will kill you. I said, I'm telling you you need to go away. So how my back deck is there's an overhang and it's probably five feet of overhang. So I'm under that. Well. He comes around, now he's inside of the overhang and he's up above me. So I go out to the deck, I turn back to the house and I spray. He evades the spray. Oh. And he comes straight for my head. Oh, he's mad. Now you made a man. And he's mad. And now I freak out. And I go, like that. And I spray. And the spray goes up to the roof of my thing. And then showers down on me. Like, oh, my God. And so my soda, I had to, you know, my soda's there. You got to get rid of that. You got I went to wash my hands. I'm like, oh, my God. So then. I, then I regathered myself. I thought this was a very bad experience, but you're, you're coming out, a stronger woman on the end. Sure. I heard him as, as I'm going, I could hear, he used to go, zzz, zh, zh, and he was going, zh. Oh, he was affected. He was injured. He was John Wolks booth. I can tell. He's like, I have a was, but one wing. Please help me. He had one wing, so he's flying in a circle. Yes. I think he was. So anyway, then I go ahead out to Qualsham. And I went in, and I don't know how it works there because I don't go there a lot. So I go up and I ask the guy about, I got a small bucket of balls. And I walk past the putting green. And I see two giant bags and a huge thing of balls. And I thought, I bet that Sam and his son. I look on the pudding green and I recognize no one. I, nobody seems familiar. So I said, well, maybe it's not them. I go down. I'm all by myself. There's a couple people. It's 10 after one. And I send Sam a text. I said, hey.
What gives? I'm here. I'm here to do a scouting report. Well, then here they come down. He said, we were right on the putting green. You must have walked right by us. I just, yeah, I said, I was looking for your head. I don't, he had a hat on and a regular, I see him his suit, and I see him with his bald head. And so, anyway, his son is very nice kid, handsome, very nice kid, yeah. And so, so Sam is there, and now he's working his way up, you know, as you do. So you, you had not seen him hit. Like you guys went down to the driving range together. I was first. No, no, no. I was down there first hitting balls and waiting for him. I was like, well, where are you? And so, no, I was already into, you know, I was hitting and stuff. And then they come down. Okay. And so then I said, okay, well, what's going to happen now? He said, well, I got to go through my routine. And, you know, when you're doing, I know you don't go to the driving range a lot, but you always start with the shorter ones than you work your way up. So he's telling me the thing. And he's like, I got to get through this and that. And I said, Sam, when's this going to have? Like, let's bring out the big guns. Let's just see it. And he didn't get to surprise his son with it because his son recognized that it was there. And he had a brand new driver. But his son had his old driver. And he could do great things with it. He's a very strong boy. And he was just crushing it. Black. Yeah. So there were a couple of missteps on Sam's part where he. Fift it and stuff, and he was, I said, I will delete that. I just want, I am getting a pure scouting report for my friend Quinn and I so that we can have a good bet. So he hits the iron, and as you know, he hits the iron quite well. He loves that four iron. So we have a couple of different videos, and I don't know how, how, I have permission to show all four of them. They're not very long, but one will be an iron shot. One will be the big reveal of the club. Like he has a whole presentation of it. Then he hits the club. And then he has a conversation with his son that I don't think you're going to like very much. Oh, okay. So. And has it been documented? Did he say, did he admit that he's 0 for three? We didn't talk about that. And I will say at the end, he said, I still think the line should be four and a half. He said, I do. Well, he's just trying to, he just wants to get a victory. That's what I thought. I was thinking three and a half might be about where we're at. Yeah. Based off past results. So do we want to play, like, can we just play the first with his iron shot? Just to get a baseline of what this guy can do. Do you want to see that, Dave? I do, but I don't know how I will. Well, it'll show up on our YouTube eventually, but you can watch. You can watch over there. So Quinn, you have this live? Yep. Okay. Okay. All right. So you're going to see it. Okay. And. All right. She's got the wedge. It was about 200 yards. What? No. Oh, yeah. Okay. Did you see that? Oh, hi. Did you see that? I happened to catch it yet. Oh, wow. Yeah. Now, the funny thing was, there was another guy who he knew, and he goes, yeah, I saw that too, Sam. Obviously not his wedge. He was trying to be funny. So, and I don't know if you want to see his presentation of the driver at this juncture. Is it a presentation for his son or for you? No, for me. Like, he's showing it to me, but a worry you could skip right to him hitting with it.
Oh, yeah, let's see him hitting. Okay, so that's the third video then, Quinn. This will be him hitting it. And then we'll play the others when he comes in. All right, here he is, folks. Let's see this new driver. Oh, my God. Sounded good. Yeah. The line just moved. That's what we did on the tour. He crushed it. He did. He crushed it. Okay. Now he had a couple of missteps with it, too. So the scouting, I didn't have all the tape. But what I want to say to you, Quinn, is that when he hits it well, it goes a long way. When he does not hit it well. And he is very concerned about a short game. And he said, that's where you need to. He said, that's where Dave gets me. And he said, that's where I need to be practicing and you need to be scouting because that's where you'll see the bad stuff. So we'll discuss. We can show him some other stuff when he comes in. I want to hear the talk with his son. You want to hear that one? That's the fourth video. Yeah. And this is just audio. I'll just need to hear it. Yeah. I mean, they're at the range. But yeah, you can just listen to it. I want to know what I'm. I need some bulletin board material. Locker room. Remember before I told you, drive for show, put for dough? Yeah. I can lie in all these years. Yeah. This is why we play the game. And this is how I'm going to beat Dave Spizito. Drive the ball a long way. Yeah. And everything else will just fall into place. Good luck, guys. He was very funny yesterday. So anyway, that was my scouting. So it was very unlike me to be at Qualston. Well, I get done with scouting. I leave them the rest of my balls. I was hitting horribly. And my back's hurting. And I was like, I got to get out of here. So then I have to hike up that big hill. Right. By the time I got to my car, I thought, this is how I die. I'm coming. I'm coming, Elizabeth. That's a big one. And this is after your near-death experience in the car wash. No, no, no, not yet. I've already almost died from wasp, like, fighting. Oh, the wash. Then the Gulf, then the Chicago. Now, so now I'm heading out, and I thought I'm hungry. I'm going to go through Jimmy Johns. Again, I'm going to get off at Argon. And so I called Ken to see if he wanted anything. He was good. So I go through. And as I go to make my left, I realize there's a mega wash there. Well, it's that's, I am a member of the megawash. You remember. So, and there are bugs all in my car. So I go through and I did exactly what you did. I did not, I didn't eat the whole thing. It's huge. So I didn't eat the whole thing, but I wanted a couple bites of it because I was really hungry. And so I'm in there. And I waited until the guy, I cleared his visual, because that's embarrassing. Got to wait for the foam to come on there on the car. And at least for the, you know, so I get in there. And now I'm hidden. I'm under the cover of all of it. And I start eating this thing. And it's messy because it's just lettuce. And it's wrapped around turkey and stuff. And at one point, I kind of, and I thought.
What would happen if you started choking? Like, this is a bad idea because nobody can hear you scream, first of all. You can't call anybody. You're in the middle of this car wash, and it's about a two-minute cycle. So in two minutes, you're dead. I mean, if you're, like, then... The car will just roll out and then just stay there in neutral. So that was a little scary. So then after that, I go to Ken's house. I finished my wrap, and I said, well... I was going to take the doggy for a walk. He said, we just went on a huge hike up to the Dishman Micah thing. Good for me. And she was, she was anxious. She's been very weird the last couple of days. And I said, yeah, but I want to walk up to the corner store and get my lottery tickets, which is maybe a mile round trip. And it was very hot, and she seemed tired. And I said, but I should go. But I said, or maybe a nap. And then I said, no, no, no, I should go get a walk. No, well, no. Nap. We chose nap. So shut it all the way down. Pitch black. All the curtains shut. And we slept for about an hour, I think. Power nap. Power nap. And then on to the Empowering Women event. Where was that? That's at center place. Oh, that's right. Yeah. So we had a safety net table. It was, you know, I ran into so many women and guys that I hadn't seen. Drew McIntyre here from WWE. Wheelden the Claymore can be a life of chaos. It was, I mean, a lot of people were there, but they had the buffet set up right where we had our little table. And so we were chatting with people as they'd come by and grab a little trinket and stuff. And then the people started lining up, well, the potatoes they were serving had a ton of garlic on them, so the place smelled so delicious. And we were the last ones to eat because, you know, so I was watching everybody go through. Move it, move it. Go, go, go, go. So once the program started, we were done with our table. So I ate my chicken dinner. It was actually very, very good. It was the Longhorn people. It's their catering thing. So I ate. And then I said, I need to get up very early. I will be exiting now. So I left around six. The thing went until eight. I was there from about 445 to 6, and I left our friend Jennifer in charge. And apparently, well, what happened was they're mentioning all the nonprofits and they're mentioning the executive directors. And I looked at Jennifer. I said, did you give a name? I said, it's going to be you. She goes, no, no, I don't want them to call my name. I said, oh, they're calling your name. I said, it's on the email. She said, no, no. And so we waited and they didn't say anybody's name.
We all went, yay, for safety day. And then the lady said, oh, I'm all he, we said hi. Well, apparently after I left, they asked Jennifer to come up and speak. Oh. And we didn't know that was going to happen. So I don't know. She said it went time. No prep time. Yeah. So she was texting me. She goes, I think I did all right. So anyway, she stayed and did that. We went home and watched Survivor. Oh, my God, with Survivor this year, you guys. Mr. Beast was on last night. Really? Why? And he had his own challenge because it's in the fans. Oh, that's right. So he offers up this thing where somebody can flip a coin. If they're safe, he adds an extra million dollars to the pot. And that person gets to stay. It's during tribal council. Jeez. And if they... If they're wrong, then they're gone. There's no vote. They're just out. And the million dollars doesn't happen. So they could, so if they flip a coin and it's the wrong one, they're out. They're out. They don't get to. So they're out tribal counsel. They're about to vote. And they said, if one of you want to try to flip this coin, you can stay. If you're right, you'll stay. And Mr. Beast is adding a million dollars to the pot. If you're wrong, he will not add it, and you automatically go home. So there's no... How many people did it? Only one could do it. Oh, only one could do it. Yeah. But the one person, and I won't say too much, but they volunteered. And because they were about to get voted off. They knew it. They were like, this is... Anyway, he hits it. So not only does he stay, now it's a $2 million pot. Oh, and then the tides turn, and then they still have to have a vote. So now somebody else is going to go home, and they have to scramble because he was the plan, basically. And so now everybody's called live counsel, live counsel. So anyway, then they voted somebody out. But not the person that flipped the coin. They couldn't. He was safe. Oh, they get immunity. Yeah, yeah. And so they gave him an idol in my, I was confused as if. if he would have to choose to use it, or if he can save it for another time. That I don't know. Maybe Brian or one of the people who watch knows. It was really good. But that means they're so smart because Mr. Beast has so many more followers than they do viewers. And you bring somebody like that into the mix, and you're going to hit a whole new audience. Very smart. Yeah. I think he's the number one YouTuber, isn't he? Yeah, I think he's like the number one, like. media person in the world right now. It's crazy. And I would imagine there's probably lots of his audience that are younger kids that don't even really know what Survivor is that are probably all of a sudden like, we're going to go watch Survivor now because Mr. Beast is on there. And he did this beware advantage thing. So what happened too is that he was at their immunity or he was at the challenge. And he announced, they introduced him. They did an auction thing. And he comes out and he goes, I won't tell you what it is until. Tribal Council. So everybody's also in their heads thinking, what could it possibly be? You know, so that changed the whole dynamic of everything. It was pretty, it was, it was good. It was really well done. So anyway, we watched that and then in bed early. I didn't sleep great, but I feel 100% better than I did yesterday.
Remember yesterday I came in, I had been overserved. Today, no. Today I feel good. Today I'm fine. And then Quinn got us McDonald's, so we're all good there, and we did our TV stuff, and then Sam will come in later, and we'll talk more about our scouting. I want to hear from him because... It's like having two boxers, you know, and they're meeting at the thing and then they're and then you know how serious the each are and then you can really make, we'll set the line officially. Yeah. I like it. But I don't think he should have influence on setting the line. I want to know how he's feeling. Okay. He's very sore today. He said that he's very sore from hitting ball. I think he probably stayed too long. I'm sore. I have a neck thing and yard work. I'm, yeah, I don't even know that I can play. Now let me ask you this. I am so injured. Let me ask you this because this affects our line too. Are you going to be drinking? And if so, heavily or not? Or only birdie juice. What's your plan there? Well, a very good question and a fair one. So here's how it should work today. Okay. If I get out of here quick enough. Yes. I will go check in at Northern Quest. Yes. Then I will drive to the golf course. Right. Nadine will be going to Northern Quest later. Yeah. Takes the shuttle. to the golf course, and then she's going to drive me back. Got it. So if that happens the way it should, there's not going to be any heavy drinking, but if that works the way it should, I will probably have a drink. Okay. And then, of course, there'll be those, there's always birdie juice. Right. If there's birdie. And it'd be a tough course today. So, I mean, you'd get a birdie. And the last time we played. Sam did not have a birdie and John did not have a birdie. The only birdies that we had were Sam's friend. And he had a few. Well, and I also got to see Sam's son hit yesterday. And he's another one. If he gets a hold of it, he will hit it very, very far. I don't know what his short game is like. I don't know any of that. I think you have them with the intricacies of, you know, I think you're a more mature player. Sam did make a statement yesterday that made me laugh. He said, I, he said, I used to. golf all the time because I said yeah me too I always had time and he said with his son sitting right there he said yeah I was you know breaking 90 often he goes and then
He came along and no more golf. And I said, well, thanks for ruining his life, Grant. I go, sounds like you really put a damper on things. The way he did, he was like, well, he was born. It was like, well, and I said, well, yeah, same kind of thing, but he's right there. Like, say it right there. So. Yeah, we'll see. We'll see what happens. I don't think it, well, let me just say this. The. Alcohol that I drink will not affect my game. Okay. And if it does, it would be for the better. And that's not me saying that. That's everybody saying. A lot of people that I play with say the same thing. I was joking with Sam. I said, if you really want an edge, I said, get him all tanked up. I said, although I've seen him play better tanked. And I said, go buy him a drink. And buy them a double and then say, I don't know about alcohol. Is that a lot? I don't know how to order alcohol drinks. I thought it was double the soda. You may get a free drink out of it because he may try my strategy. Yeah, I think there'll be some drinks. Yeah, good. That'll be fun. And it's going to be a beautiful. We just, we got so lucky on the weather. Oh, I know. Because this was set up. over a week ago. So you never knew what you're going to get. Well, and I think it's going to continue on for our time, too. It's going to be really nice weather. Let's just see. It's going to be a wonderful weekend. Tammy, too much. Oh, gosh, sorry. Spoiler alert. I thought everybody would be watching. Sorry. Aaron on the text line is listening today from Boston. Yeah. Where? Thank you, Aaron. I don't see that. It's on the YouTube text line. Oh, on YouTube. Okay. A lot of you on YouTube right now. Yeah, and Tammy, sorry. I didn't, I had no idea that you hadn't seen it yet. I usually watch it on Saturdays. I'm sorry. I am sorry. So now you're ruining shows for people. I know. I apologize. And the person who I will not mention gets to keep the idol for another time. Sorry. How about Quinn? Quinn, it was all basketball last night, and it was disappointing about your tickets are dead. Yep, tickets are dead. 15 hit fives appear to be dead. No, don't give up on those. Let me take a look at those. I'll scan them for you. One at a time. I downloaded the lottery app and scanned to myself last night, but some of them, like, said that the results weren't in yet. That means you have a winner. Oh, I like that. I think there was only like two of them that were like that. Okay. Did you keep them separate? Oh, no, they're all mixed together. So we got to go back through the pile. So here's how it works when it, when it, right after the numbers are drawn. Okay. It will tell you if you've got nothing. Gotcha. But if you have something, it could be a free ticket, could be the jackpot. It will say results not in yet because then it takes them a while for them to tell you how much. Okay. Ooh, I like the sounds of that. Hope is still alive. Hope is still alive. Maybe we're like $150. That's a lot of units. Well, even 15. Oh, 15 would be awesome. Yeah. 100%. Anywhere close to my money back, I'd be really happy with. Yeah, it used to be they would give you a dollar, and now it's just a free ticket. So you can't, you know. That's fair, though. Keep you in the game. Oh, yeah. At this point in time, I'm okay with that because I want to keep playing it forward until somebody wins it. Keep you on the wheel. Yeah. I wonder what Ken did, because Ken won $55 on his scratcher tickets yesterday for his birthday. I wonder. Oh, yeah.
What he ended up doing. Hello, it is Ryan, and I was on a flight the other day playing one of my favorite social spin slot games on Chumbacasino.com. I looked over the person sitting next to me, and you know what they were doing? They were also playing Chumba Casino. Everybody's loving, having fun with it. I think it's a virus. I think it's a very, where there is no, there is no vaccine for the virus that we have. Well, it'll be fun. We have lots to, lots to cover. So will you bet new parles for basketball now? Yeah, I'm a little after last night. I'm a little beaten down, so I might need to take a couple days and get my thoughts in order and regroup. Because clearly my MBA predictions are just totally off. So I got to retool whatever I'm doing. But I definitely will at some point. I think I really like the spurs. They look really good. And they're. Oklahoma City is the big favorite, so they're probably going to win it all, but I just don't want to take them because there's no good odds on them. Yeah, yeah. Probably take them. I might even take the Knicks to, like, do a Nick Spurs matchup or something like that in the finals after last night. See what happens? I don't know. As long as you're gambling, honey, we don't care. Whatever you pick, it's good. Get those tickets on. Make mom and daddy proud. I've been much better on the game-to-game predicting what's going to happen after actually watching the series than I have been predicting before the series start. So I might have to just stick with that. Did you have any idea that the... Knicks would win by, I mean, even if you say a blowout, a blowout is 20. Yeah. When you win by 50 in a playoff game. Yeah. I don't think you can never predict anyone to win like that. And the Knicks were, I think, like, three-point favorites on the road. Oh, geez. It was one of those games where you're like, game six, I think the Knicks have kind of figured this team out. So they're probably going to go and probably win the series. But you've checked the score and you're like, oh, my. God, there are 50 points. So did it end in the 50 points, Fred? They won't by 51. What's that? Yeah, actually, I won't lie. I didn't even look at the final score. I think it was 140 to 89. Yeah, they scored in the 140s. Mm-hmm. Yeah. And every single player on the Knicks played, so. Jeez. Well, they almost wanted me to play. How quickly can you get to Atlanta? I said, well, I got wine night. Oh, that's another club. I don't know if it was the game last night. It couldn't have been. It was in New York. Mike Tarrico, who was calling the NBA game. And he's rattling off all the celebrities that are there. Uh-huh. And there's, um...
I think Paul Rudd was there. Ben Stiller, Timothy Shalame, and then he says, and it's Tina Faye who is there. And he says, oh, and there's Tina Fox and there's not quite hip with the times. Tina Fox. Yeah, that was cool. All right. Well, I want to hear what if you guys are going to bet on me or against me. All right. Well, I think that we. Have our scouting. You can review the tapes more off the air. We can have our chat with Sam, see how he's doing, see what he feels like. Yesterday, he felt like it was still a four and a half point spread. I think he's being modest. Oh, I think he's just trying to undersell it. Yes, I agree. I agree. I need this full injury report on him being sore before I make any lines. That's also true. And I'm not 100%. I'm not, I'm probable. Oh, come on now. That's the old rope it up, my thing. Yeah. And then we also have to, our friend John is playing too. If you think Sam hits the ball a long ways with a new driver, John, if he, John can hit it a mile. Yeah. So there's our friends going by. So anyway, yeah, that'd be fun. It's going to be a good day. All right. We'll get to the news of the day here in just a bit. Yeah, today is May 1st. So we're going to look for all the things that we have to look forward to in the month of May. Yes. Yep. And then the Kentucky Derby is tomorrow. I, you know what? I heard about that. And then I heard this fantastic story about the first black female jockey. And her story, and it was amazing. She raced for 21 years and won 750 races. She's not in the derby, though. No, no, she's not alive anymore. But in honor of the derby, they were talking to her brother doing like a historical thing. But the story is she would pick the meanest horses. He was saying how mean race horses are. And she was just a little teeny thing. And she picked the meanest horse out there that nobody would ride. And she won four. four races with the horse. But it was just like, I don't know, jockeys are, that's an amazing, I mean, it all looks fine on TV. Yeah. But when you really, even being at a horse race, as you know, you used to like to go all the time, you're down that close to those horses and you see the power and the speed. That would be so scary. Oh, my God. Well, we have the greatest. Horse names in Derby history. Oh, fun. Okay. And then we also have reasons a horse can be denied a name. Oh. Like you could say, well, I want to name a horse this. And well, this is, well, no, you can't do that because, and there's a list of things. Oh. Yeah. It's kind of interesting. You know, on account of the derby and all. Yeah. So those were a few of the things that we'll get to. And then I remember the Seinfeld episode where I think it was Kramer that wanted the ass man license plate. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Well, now the.
The vanity plate ass man is taken in all states that it's allowed. I think he'd be very happy. There's only, well, 31 states don't allow it at all. Like, you know, you get a personalized plate and it's like, well, I want to be, you know, ass man. No. They're saying, no, you're not going to be ass man. But there are states that allow it, of those, everybody's got it. Okay. They're taken. Sorry, kids. They're taken. Anyway, that'll be a fun topic. Those and other stories, go time, everybody. It's Friday. It's the last day of the week, but it's the first day of a brand new month. It's May Day. Yeah. We love May Day. Yes. Happy Friday, everyone. We now return to the Dave and Molly Show. Hey, welcome back, everybody. Happy Friday. Yeah. Friday. We earned this one. I mean, all those other times when we talk about, oh, Friday's here, we earned it. That was a bunch of crap. We never earned any of those. We've been phoning it in. Oh, yeah. This one. This one. Yes. Just the musical presentation alone. And it may I say a lot of heat on the musical presentation from yesterday. You guys were on it. People are waiting for the tour dates. Oh, yeah. They're coming out soon. And for our... Podcaster friends. Yeah. That is its own thing. Oh, good. So you can go, and if you just want to hear the musical creation from yesterday, it's its own deal. I think it's like two minutes. The birthday, is it a birthday song? It's all by itself. And then we have another TikTok thing that is just you guys. And that was after the party. It was the after show. The encore. Yeah, that's pretty good. Update from Quinn, your tickets. Scanam all? I think I did, and I got no winners. What? So either I didn't grab them all out of my bag and there's one floating around there or I'm re-scanning right now. I'm not sold that I didn't win anything. We got to get a rescan going. Rescan. Can't believe you can't win. I'll let you guys know. And as I said, you can't lose if you don't play. Exactly. So. 100% of the shots you don't take. That's right. Iron. Iron sharpens iron. Yes. I was trying to think of. Paper sharpens paper. Quinn, come on. Get those tickets in. Yeah, and they'll be a pro this time. You can also go up to the machine. You can just go to the machine and then you can put your debit card in there. At the end of this whole process, the lady tells me, and then just so you know, you can also use the machine. And I go, oh, there's a big lie to people behind me. Ready to buy stamps or redeem their coupons. Yeah. I know how that works. Sorry, people. All right, we are in the month of May. Things to look forward to in the month of May. You do have all your sports. As Quinn knows, you've got NBA and NHL playoffs. They will continue. The derby is tomorrow. Oh, yes. Okay. And then the Preakness, which is the second leg of the Triple Crown. Right. That will be on the 16th. You have the PGA Championship. That's a major. Oh, yeah. That's May 14th. And then you have the French Open. On the 18th and the Indy 500 day after your birthday. It's always the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend. Yeah. So that's a big deal for people. So you got some sports. And baseball starts to heat up a little bit. And? The Dave and Molly, Dave Kenner Molly golf tournament. Yes. And. Mother's Day. Yes. And say it.
Molly's birthday. Today is Ken's birthday. We celebrated yesterday. And then because we celebrated yesterday, we don't even have to pretend today. We can just go right into my birthday month. Before, I would be like, okay, I'll wait until the second. And even Ken would announce the next day. He'd say, now we can start focusing on Molly's birthday. Your other holidays. Yeah. Because your birthday is a holiday, as we've been told. National. You have Cinco de Mayo. Oh, yes. And it's on Taco Tuesday this year. Oh, perfect. Yeah. Cinco de Mayo's on Tuesday. Perfecto. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mother's Day, Memorial Day. There's Star Wars Day, May the 4th. National Teachers Day is also on Cinco de Mayo. Armed Forces Day is the 16th. And here's one we can all get behind. May 28th is National Hamburger Day. Okay. Never been a better time. Have a burger. Have a burger. Hey, it's Ryan Sechrest here. And if you're looking for some serious fun, head over to chumbacasino.com. At Chumba Casino, you can play all your favorite social casino style games for free anytime, anywhere. It's the most fun you can have on your phone or computer. No purchase necessary. VGW room. Boy, we're prohibited by law. See terms and conditions, 21 plus. We were looking at our month and we were saying, okay, so this weekend we're at home. And then next weekend we have Indians baseball. More on that. That's, you know, now it's very exciting. Then the next weekend I'll be gone. In France. In France. Then the next weekend is my birthday weekend. And then the next weekend is Brandy Carlisle. And that is stacking up. Hey, by the way, it has been decided that when my family is coming through town to, we're all going, the casino is where they're going to stay. And I made a call last night to our friend Linda who loves Vegas and the casino. And she's more excited about that than France. She is like. A new casino? And she said, can you come out? And I said, we have our golf tournament. They don't get until late. But I was trying to tell her all the things that happened out at Northern Quest so she could enjoy it all. I said, I just wish I could be there to show you, but she'll find her way. Is she a slot player or cards? Yes, slots. Only slots? Yeah, she said, the way I gamble, I'll have free rooms there in no time. She said, I'll be back with my, you know, she's so excited. So anyway, she may stay up all night. I don't know. But I'm just happy that my family's going to get to see where I play. To see your church. To see my church. Oh.
The month in May is also a big month for movies. The Devil Wears Product, too, is out today. My daughter saw it last night. And she said it was great. Oh, good. She loved it. And it's all the, you know, original people, too. Right. So I think Meryl Streep got double. what she got for the first one. Oh, I'm sure. Bring her back. That's quite something. Animal Farm is also out. That's possibly on the agenda for the weekend. Really? Maybe. It's a cartoon. Yeah. The kids. Oh, I'm thinking of a different thing. No, this is a, it's a cartoon. It's got good people in it, too. It is about the book Animal Farm. It's based on that book, Animal Farm, but it's a cartoon movie of it. Oh, it should be really fun. I'm excited about it. Somebody was telling me that it had a dark turn at the end or something. Oh, it might. Unless I'm hearing it wrong. Okay. I hope it doesn't. All right. The documentary. Iron Maiden Burning Ambition. That'll be next week. And then there's Iron Sharpen's Iron. The Quince Carry Story. Mortal Kombat 2. And then the comedy, the sheep detectives. See, now, your son laughed at that. But I am telling you, I think it's going to be hilarious. Well, maybe both could be right. I don't think it's for him. But when we see the previews, every time Alex and I laugh out loud at the previews. It's funny. The sheep, they're going to solve a murder. Real sheep. Like real sheep. But they have voices, you know, they talk. Dev, you know, human voices. It's my thing. Sounds like you've got some movies to watch this. Any kind of talking animal. I'm in. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I love talking animals. The action movie in the gray will be released on May 15th. And the big one, Star Wars, the Mandalorian and the Grogu. Grogu? Yeah. For Star Wars? Do you know that? I don't really. That's an IMAX thing on Molly's birthday eve. What's the one that the $50? Is that, that's the June, right? I think that's in June. Okay. I think, yeah. Right. TV, you've got the roast of Kevin Hart, little Kevin Hart. That'll be on May 10th. Fear Factor, 48 hours of fear. Oh, God, no. That kicks off on May 14th. No. The Yellowstone spinoff Dutton Ranch will be on the 15th. Another yellowstone spinoff. Another one. Wow. Yeah, how many are there? I don't know. There's a lot. There's at least four or five. Yeah. Yeah, there's a lot. And then the very last episode of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert will be May 21st, which I believe is a Thursday. It is. So you're not doing a Friday show. All right. Okay. You do have the Academy of Country Music Awards on Prime Video because there's a need for more country music awards. They have not been congratulated in at least a month. So make sure. And then the American Music Awards. That'll be on CBS and Paramount on the 25th.
Okay. Now, we did mention the Kentucky Derby. So don't you want to know some of the greatest horse names of the last, what is it, almost 100 years? I do want to know that. What is it almost? Well, it's over 100 years. All right. Yeah. Bring it. Okay. From 1994, we had Tabasco Cat. That's good. I like this one from 1990. Mr. Frisky. Here comes Mr. Frisky. Homeboy Chris, I am the game. Hey, guys, it's Ryan. I want to tell you about my new pastime, Chumba Casino. Chumba Casino has been around for over a decade delivering the most fun you can have online. Play social casino style games for free, anytime, anywhere. So sign up at chumbacino.com. No purchase necessary. VGW.W. Boy, prohibited by law. See terms and conditions. 21 plus. Mucho macho man. Oh, ohio, oh, oh, oh, oh. Oh, wow, that's hard for the people. Ocho, Ocho, Ocho, Ocho. Coming around the corner, there are at least three lengths ahead. It's pretty good. She's doing that. Great. At the, I did a tour of Churchill Downs. Yeah. And one of the things you can do is they give you a horse race. Yeah. And then you get to call the race. And then they, you can record it. Oh, it was great. Oh, my God. That sounds like so much fun. Yeah. I loved mine. I did, I did it twice, actually. You did? Yeah, because I was so like, oh, this is cool. Did you get to keep it? Yeah, they give you a recording and I don't know what I ever did with it. Yeah, it's awesome. It was fun. Oh, I would love that. And you're in a little booth. You're in like a little sound booth. And then they give you the race and they tell you the colors of the horsey. And they print it on the screen so you can read it. It was a really cool thing. It's an interactive type deal. That sounds like fun. Yeah. There was a horse in 1943 in the Kentucky Derby called Gold Shower. That that one's not allowed anymore. I don't think they can do that one. Sinister minister. That's good one. Lost cause. This is a few of them. My favorite of all time, I don't think it was a derby horse, but it was hoof-hearted. Try to say that really fast. Who farted, who farted, who farted, who farted, who farted? Yeah, that's why it was funny. The Irish would ask who farted. Oh, that is good. Now, if you want to be real creative with your horse names, they do have rules. Good. And some of these rules, this is kind of interesting, really. Names consisting of more than 18 characters, including spaces and punctuation. Like the example they give is request for parole. That maxes out the limit. Okay. Because there's the words, and you have to count the spaces. Right. You also cannot have a horse named consistently or of only initials.
I don't know how they would determine that. Like J-D-H-P. Yeah. Okay. Okay. Names ending in horse-related terms like Philly, Stud, Mare, Stallion. Okay. So you can't have Joe's Stallion. Okay. Something like that. Names consisting entirely of numbers. Also, numbers above 30 can only be used if they are spelled out. Okay. You cannot have a horse named after a real person living or dead unless there's written permission. Oh, boy. And even then, it could still be rejected by the jockey club. A jockey club. That request for parole? Yeah. That one. That was also what I get all the time for my ex-boyfriends. Press for parole. Look, I've got requests for parole, honey. It's coming. It's coming. See, call me when you're granted. I could be out by the weekend. Call me when it's granted. I can't wait that long. You can also not have a horse named after a racetrack. Oh. Like you could not have a horse called Churchill Downs. Right. That makes sense. That makes a lot sense. Names cannot be offensive in the eyes of the Jockey Club. That includes profanity, anything controversial, or anything demeaning to the horse. You don't want to call it, here comes big fat slob around the corner. Here comes future glue. Here he comes. Glow factory coming up from behind. You can also not have names that are currently active, either in racing or breeding. Okay. And names of winners in the past 50 years. Or retired names, as they say. Those are all the ones that are banned. Do you know this comes from our text line? Did you know that there was a winner named Spokane? Oh, I did know that. I did know that. Yes. And I believe they won the derby. Yes. Yeah. It says 1889. Yeah. So at Churchill Downs, they have all of the winners. Yeah. Like on the, all across the, like the stadium. And I remember seeing that one and think, well, that's kind of odd. Yeah. Yeah. That's cool. They have pictures of all the horses. Yeah. She sent a picture. Stephanie sent a picture of it. Of the Spokane horse? Not the horse. The, like the thingy that says that they won. You know, like the. Metal. You know about medals. Oh, yeah, I get medals for everything. Yes, Spokane came from behind to beat Procter Not in the 1889 Derby. I want to find this woman that I heard about this morning. Her name is Cheryl White. And she was the first black woman to become a licensed jockey in the United States. What year is this? Let's see. She was age 17. It was 1971. Oh, wow. So she raised for over 21 years, won over 750 wins.
And, um, it's, her brother, this is, her brother was, I just heard this morning, said she was fearless. She was, she was, she was, she would ride the scariest of all the, all of the, all of the horses. She didn't care. She would just, but, yeah, it's a pretty interesting story. I don't know that she ever won the, um, I don't know if she ever won the derby, but, uh. But yeah, that's a tough. First of all, you have to be tiny. And you have to be extremely brave. And they said a good jockey, you could put a cup of coffee on their back. That's how flat they are. They have to be. Like if you watch them release. Sometimes they'll stand. I think it's the... The Belmont, I believe, which is the last leg of the conduct. That's the longer one. And sometimes the jockeys will be standing in the early stages. They're trying to pace the horses. Yes. Yes. That makes sense. Yeah, horse racing is kind of cool. It is. This is their big event. The derby and then, and then, you know, whoever wins the derby, then it's like, okay, are they going to go for the Triple Crown or not? Remember the show that was on for a while? You watched it, didn't you? It was the reality show. What was it called? Race to the Crown or something? It was a reality show following all the rich people who owned the horses. Oh, yes, yes, yes. Yeah. That was, I thought that was really interesting. Still nothing quite like Secretariat, though. Oh, my gosh, Secretariat. I think the male horse races or horses have the greatest life. They go race. They do what they love for a couple years. And then they just have sex for the rest of their lives. Although they don't always get to do it with the girls. Sometimes they're... They get stuff extracted, and then they don't get to have the... Well, and then what... I think we were talking about this last year, that all of the derby entries last year were all descendants of Secretariat in some form, like, you know, over generations and stuff. Yeah. Crazy. It was a freak horse, man. Unbelievable. We were talking about names now, the vanity plate, ass man. Okay. This was a big Seinfeld episode. Yes. And people across the country, after seeing the episode, they said, well, I want to have an ass man license plate. Why wouldn't you? There are states that allow it. Okay. Unfortunately, the license plate has been banned in most states. 31 states have a specific law against it. Another 11 states would probably prohibit it, but it's not 100% for sure. So who are the states that are like, yeah, you're good? Well, Montana. Okay. New Mexico, Oklahoma, West Virginia, and Connecticut.
Connecticut, that's surprising. The rest of them, that kind of tracks. But Connecticut, oh, yes, ass man. Liffie, let's go. Let's take the jack to play badminton. My son is in Connecticut. He doesn't talk like that. Well, he was born here. Different. Two more states do allow. ass man, but the license plate is already taken. That's South Dakota and Maine. Okay. So in those states, there's someone driving around with an ass man license. See, and if my dad were still alive, well, my God, ask me what kind of gosh? What's this world coming to? There's one state that does allow it, and it was available, and that was Vermont. And somebody put out on social media that the Vermont DMV site is going to crash in a few minutes. Because the word got out. Okay. Well, it was and it did. It crashed the website. Multiple people tried to sign up for that one. And they took it down after three days. So somebody must have got it. And then I think it still has to be approved. Well, then you have to drive around with it and look like that. I had three car-related things happen yesterday. Well, I had my car wash incident, but prior to that, I needed windshield wiper fluid, and I hadn't done that in my new car yet. So I wasn't sure, you know, my old car, I knew how to pop the hood and stuff. So I go to Safeway, the outside thing. And I even took video of it. I do not understand why they don't just sell a smaller container. of fluid or make the tank on the thing. You always have that much left. Oh, yeah. And it rattles around the back of your car until then you either share it with somebody or, but why can't they just, they know. How it's standard on every car probably, how big that little tank is, right? Mm-hmm. So why not? Just. Tyler Reddick here from 2311 racing. Victory Lane? Yeah, it's even better with Chumba by my side. Race to Chumba Casino.com. Let's Chumba. No purchase necessary. VGW Group. Void were prohibited by law. CTNCs, 21 Plus. Sponsored by Chumba Casino. Don't do a gallon or two gallons. Just make a small one that fits. That's how they get you. But why? It's, it's, oh, I hate those. And it always bangs around in the back. Always. Mine's in my garage, the extra. Yeah, it's smart. That's my, I try to pawn it off on somebody. Hey, you need some fluid. But you know, anytime that you have work done on your car, they usually fill all that anyway. Well, I'm not going to have any work done on my car anytime soon. I hope. Well, like for a checkup and stuff. Yeah, but even the oil changes like thousands of miles away because of the way. But they'll do it then. But I ran out. I mean, they filled it up when I bought it. But then a couple months goes by and.
It was good, though, because it's on hydraulics. Unlike the bucket of bolts where I had to, like, lift it and find the thing, this just goes... And it stays on. Wow. Oh, it's pretty tricky. Yeah. And then, and then I started to pull it down. Well, don't do that. Well, it was not going. And I thought I'm going to have to call the guy at Finley and say, how do I do this? But then I, as I did it, it closed. It was fine. But it's really fancy. I've had that before. Actually, going to golf courses. I'll get to the golf course. I'll open the back. You know, my clubs are back there. And then they try to like. Pull out the thing down. No, no, don't do that. You just hit the button, it'll close. Well, this was, I've just never witnessed a, you know, the front that will stay open like that. And it's got these nice little shock absorber. Boy, that's, that is high tech. Yeah, it's pretty exciting. And the winchial wiper fluid was on the total opposite side than my other car. So I did. I was around. But there is me. If you saw me at the Safeway, you know, gas station yesterday, you'd think, wow, she really knows her way around the engine. I was like, yeah, I got this. And I didn't even have to use one of the little cones. I freehanded it. And now I'm all filled up. And I paid for my tabs for that. It was a lot of car stuff yesterday. That's not me. That's not. And you got your car wash while you were consuming a Jimmy John's sandwich. Yeah, I was multitasking and almost died in the drive-thru. Car wash. Here's the thing that we talked about with our friend Sam Adams on the set of KHQ, the wake-up show this morning. The word for 2006. Yeah. Stressful. That's what they say. Okay. New survey found the top word Americans are using to describe this year is stressful. A close second. Challenging. Oh. What was your word you used? Concerning. Concerning. You said concerning. And then I used debacle. And then we said mayhem. That was my last one, mayhem. First, I started with Wonderful. And then I realized we were talking about this year. And then I said, oh, no, that's nuts. In a separate study, they also found that one in three Americans are currently going through some sort of crisis. They say the Gen Ziers are feeling at the most. Now, there are ways to combat this feeling. Okay. Take a walk. All right. Limiting news alerts. Yes. Listening to music. Listening to your favorite podcasts with a couple of Yehus. Spending time with friends can also make a real difference. Yeah. Yeah.
It can get you down and it can get you concerned. And I do think getting out listening to a good book on tape. Something like Jan Brady, a throwback, another time. I also heard reviews of a few books that I have got to ask your daughter about that I think she'll know about. But the plot, one of the plots, it was. Three women or four who go on a cruise and the cruise is set with an old boy band like an out of shape older boy band, but this is a cruise where they're going to be on it. in their current so now they're in their 50s and so are these women they grew up with this boy band but the boy band is like a has-been boy band but they're so everybody on the cruise is like all about this former boy band it sounded like a really good book it really did and so i have to ask christie about it i can't remember the name but i'm going to find out And then there's another one where a woman, she goes to retirement home, and she doesn't really want to, but she does it with a guy and she gets pregnant, even though she's like in her 70s. And it's this miracle, like this other than that one sounded really fascinating too. Because I got it, after Jan Brady, I got to find my next book. So if anybody has suggestions. How far into the Jan Brady book are you? Oh, I don't know, like an hour and a half in. I think it's a seven-hour book. But today I'll listen more to it. It helps with stress. I'm just catching up on the text line. The horse Spokane was from a stable in Montana. Oh. That's kind of cool. Thank you, D&D, Steve. It was apparently named Spokane because the guy who had him gave him his name when he was here in Spokane. They were traveling and he named him while he was here is what I looked up. And he's a derby winner. Yeah, Derby winner for Montana, named Spokane. Pretty cool. That is cool. Oh, Zach has a new word for 2026. Expensive. Oh, yeah. There's a little big, semensive. And then Andy says, oh, he's got a whole thing here. Oh, my goodness. Oh, he's time for the lottery to get on board. Oh, yeah. Yeah, they do need to sponsor. Oh, they should. I love your show. Gambling. I enjoy gambling as much as you, too. It's always fun to hear about your adventures at the casino. Nice addition with the YouTube channel. Thanks, Andy. That's very nice. You got everybody all riled up. Well, I just want to let the word of you. I mean, you talk about record high jackpots. And it's a state thing. And it's one payout. Yeah. All those things combine. Oh, thank you. Linda, it's called American Fantasy. That's the book I was talking about. Is that the one with the boy brand? Yes. Okay. Yes. Thank you. I know I need to talk to Christy about it too because she's probably already read it. I'm sure it's one of those. You know, and our app is cutting out. Everybody's all up in arms about our app. If you're just listening to us and not, hey, here's the thing. If the app is messing up, go to YouTube.
Yeah, you can see us on YouTube. Yeah, sorry about that. And while you're waiting, download some more episodes. Yeah, why not? Yeah, yeah. Kick me off the right way. And you can just hear our wonderful song that we did for Ken. Molly wrote the song. But you guys. It's its own thing. Perfect. It's three minutes. That's great. Topps. That is great. I think we were going to have one of those on YouTube as well. Yeah, there should be some of our singing and Ken's whole segment from yesterday is all up on YouTube. Nice. Song individually and Ken's whole segment. Oh, see, this is so you can either just download it and listen if you just want to live in the audio world or then you have to listen. You say, I want to see what this look like. Then you go to YouTube and watch it too. Yeah. Can see it happen. Over and over again. All right. We'll take a break. When we'll return, Kate Hudson will join us. We'll find out what's going on in Spokane, USA. And then 8 o'clock hour will have the showdown. I think we have a player. Do we have a player? Somebody needs to play. Oh, no. And then Molly's in an extra good mood today. So there's going to be big money, big money for some of the questions. So we'll look forward to that. And then Sam Adams will be joining us also in the 8 o'clock hour, probably around 8.30. And we'll see how he's feeling about the big golf rivalry today. Then we'll set our bet. I realize that they're really, my only chance is to not have to buy McDonald's one time. You have zero to lose. When I may have to buy McDonald's. And I'm just trying to win my way to not having to pay for McDonald's one week. That's the only thing that's in it for me, really. But that's okay. I'll take that. I'll take it. And Kelly, listener 22, she won $15 on the hit five yesterday. Hey. She played $15, so she broke even. Kind of like, Quinn, yeah, you played $15. All you need is one ticket to have three numbers on it. Yep, all I need is. I do have an update. I had no winners over here, but I only have 14 of my tickets. Quinn. One ticket is either in my bag still or at my house. Oh. I got to find that because I think that's the one that had the... Yeah. That might be the winner. Did you ever find your little pouch with all your tickets in it? No, I haven't yet still. You've been robbed. I haven't looked very hard in fairness. I looked the one day and I haven't looked again. So I need to do a deep search because I need to find my Sabres playoff ticket. Oh, yes. Oh, that's right. So I need to get that out and see. Go get some money. Sheila wants to play. Okay. Sheila, you're in. Sheila's playing shortly after 8 o'clock. Yes. Quinn, you need to keep better care. Listen. You're going to gamble. You've got to be responsible for your gambling things. Otherwise, if you don't have the ticket, you can't. It's money down the drain. This is what they call betting irresponsibly, not keeping track of your tickets. Oh, is that why it's called that? I have my twins ticket right up on my refrigerator waiting until October. That's when it'll be decided. You're a little best egg. Late October.
Yeah. Or it'll be decided in early September because they'll be out. Yeah. If they don't make the playoffs, it's out. All right. Back after a break, Kate Hudson joins us. Thanks for being with us. Happy Friday. The Dave and Molly Show is live from the Numerica Studios. We now return to the Dave and Molly Show. And look who's here. Happy Friday. Kate Hudson. Happy Friday. You caught me mid-drink. Oh, that's all right. She's drinking again. I know. It's Friday. You said it wasn't a problem. It's been a week. It's a chie. Oh, okay. Yeah. Delicious. And you got to be getting ready for Bloom's Day. Yep. This is your time, right? Yeah, I'm a little worried about the heat. It's going to be way warmer than people are prepared for. Yes, we haven't had. Heat yet. Right. And I'm not used to this. Yeah, especially if you're delicate flowers. Yeah. If you're starting late and you're walking or you're going to be finishing in actual heat. Yeah. Yeah. Close to 80. Not a lot of tree cover out there, especially Doomsday and Broadway running down that. So you know that last mile down Broadway. Yeah. Bubba Wallace here from 2311 racing. On the track, my car's look is everything. But today, I'm talking about more than just paint schemes. I'm talking about my favorite games at Chumba Casino. Check out exclusives like Stampede Fury and my own King Crock Theory. It's just as wild as my car looked in Texas. With over 200 games and new ones weekly, play for free at chumbacasino.com. Let's Chumba. Sponsored by Chumba Casino. No purchase necessary. VGW Group, voidware prohibited by law, 21 plus, terms and conditions apply. You've seen Poltergeist, the movie, right? A long time ago. You know, at the very end, when the mom's running down the hallway to try to get to Carol Ann, and it just keeps getting longer and longer. That's what I envision when I'm running down. That last mile is awful. Because you think Doomsday Hill, it's like, oh, I'm up, Doomsday, and then you forget, you have all this other stuff to go through. You still have two miles to go. Yeah, yeah. brutal. But yeah, I call that Stretch the Poltergeist hallway in my head, in my own world. And what's your goal again? I just want to stay in the 112, below 112, so that I can start in the yellow group next year. But ideally, my best time was 106, and that was two years ago, and I would like to at least be in that ring. That's impressive. We learned yesterday that Ken Hopkins, are, you know, partner. Yeah. His fastest race was 48. What? 48. Yeah. We never knew that all these years about him. When he was a senior in college. Wow. Out at Eastern. That's fast. Yeah, it's really fast. Holy cow. We never knew that because I remember him always racing and it was always like an hour mark, right? Like that was the goal kind of. I will never touch 48. No.
Most people won't. That's crazy. That's a talent. We had a producer, though, who was so convinced that all he claimed that he could do it in 42 minutes. No wonder Ken was so pissed because Ken was fired up. Yeah. It's one of my favorite arguments that ever happened on the air. Those two going at it. He said, and his theory was that he could run a seven-minute mile, right? Wasn't that the theory? So he said, all you have to do. And he said, all you have to do is do that seven times. And Ken's like, no, that's not how it works. He goes, well, no, it's just math, Ken. And Ken was so mad. But the same producer also started reading about golf, not really practicing, but reading. And he ended up getting pretty good, which really. Well, he had moments of goodness. He had moments. So did he ever run Bloom's Day and get 42? No. He got like an hour and 15 or something, I think. He didn't even qualify for the yellow group. Way off. So that's the qualification of the 112. Yeah, 112 and under gets you in that yellow group that starts behind the elites. So what time will you start? I think we go at 915. Because the wheelchairs elites go at 830, the women elite go at 845, the men go at 9. And then, like, I think the corporate cup people go away. Oh, that's right. I did that one year. And then. Yellow group goes in. Corporate cup is nice because you get all the free stuff and you get your own little tent after and place, put your stuff. And they pick up your race packets for you. Although I like going to the Bloom's Day trade show. I'm in it for the grilled cheese that they give out at the Franz Bakery. Oh. They do. Booth, yeah. All right. Yeah. Yeah. The Franz Bakery people have, like, a whole situation set up, and they're giving out real cheese samples, the little circus animal cookies, donuts. Carmelode. Yeah, so I go around and around. We're going tomorrow afternoon. Tomorrow afternoon, okay. I will be working the Bloomstay Trade Show today. Are you? Oh, only today? Not tomorrow? Yep, my shift is today. Three to six. Okay. Awesome. I think you're going to like, I mean, you'll be done by 10.15, 10, 20. I hope so. And it's not going to be brutally hot then. I mean, it's probably more like noon that it's going to really feel hot. But still, I'm, this is going to be our first time running when it's really warm. Yeah. And we usually run at 6 in the morning, so the sun's not quite up yet. So it's usually still chilly. I'm mentally preparing. I'm going to wear my little hydration vest. Yeah, that's fun. People make fun of me, but it comes in handy. What does that do? Well, it's got my water bottles in the pockets right here. On you? Like you're wearing it? And so I can just drink my water while I'm running. I don't have to stop. I think it's smart. I feel like you're making fun of me. No, I'm trying to just get a visual. I can't picture. I don't know. I don't know that I've seen that. We have, I have one of those that there's a,
bladder in the back. It's like a smaller backpack and then the hose comes like that and you just sit out of it. You've never seen those? That's at least a... Yeah, my hand also has the back pocket for a big bladder effect. Can you put vodka back there? You could, yes. Tequila? Do whatever you want. Sip on it. You might not finish the rate, but you're going to feel real good. I know. It's going to be so great. Somebody, speaking of that, there was an influencer who ran the New York City Marathon, and he, because I guess people along the course just hand out full beers and stuff. So he made a point of drinking a beer at every place that they were handing them out. So by the end, he was just, like, stumbling to the finish line. But he did 26.2 like that. You're too in shots. And he chronicled the whole thing. Was that the one? I think it was the London. Somebody broke the two-hour mark. Oh, yeah. That just happened. Yeah. Yeah. Two-out, running a marathon in under two hours. Right. And now it'll keep happening. Now that somebody hit that, right? It's almost like somebody just has to break that seal. And then everybody doesn't happen with the mile. Yep. Adidas is cleaning it's because of the new shoe that they released that the guy ran it. And they're taking all the credit saying that it's because of this new super high fancy technology shoe that the guy was wearing. Wow. Because the female winner was also wearing those shoes. Yeah. And she also broke some sort of record. Right. I know there was some records broken at the Boston Marathon, but they had perfect conditions. Yeah. And then I heard, and then it was like the next week, somebody went under two hours. It's crazy. And then I feel bad for Nike because they were hoping to break that. They were hoping their shoes would be the ones that broke the two hour mark. Oh. They had a whole campaign about it. Spend millions of dollars on this campaign under two and then they got beat. Wow. Well, there'll be more people that'll do it. Like you said, once it happened, it was just like the famous Roger Bannister, breaking the four-minute mile. Yeah. And then no one could ever do it. Then he did it. And then like a hundred people did it in the next couple years. I know. Now everyone's going to run under two hours. But then do you like at this point, do you think anyone could go faster than that? Like 1.45. I think that will ever happen. I mean, what is that a minute? So how many, what's the math breakdown? What's the fastest mile that's ever been run? Is it three? Three. Maybe 340? 340? I don't know. That's good question. Quinn's going to research it. 3.43. 343. And it's 26 miles in a marathon? So you got to break down. I mean, you can't run 26 of those miles. You can't do that. Well, I mean, they're just 26 of those miles, so it's fine. Just like our old producer. What if it's a five-minute mile that you're averaging at 26?
That's, I don't know what to do the map of it. No, it's faster than that. It would have to be faster than a five-minute mile. Yeah, faster than a five-minute mile. Hmm. Impressive. Anyway. What else is happening? Okay. Oh, we have stuff. So besides Bloomsday, yes. We have Treaty Oak Revival tonight at the New America Veterans Arena. I'm calling it by its new name. So that's happening. They are a relatively new band. I hadn't ever heard of them, but they were established in 2019. They're from West Texas, kind of an American rock folk sound. But they've become a big enough deal over the last six years, seven years that... They are playing arenas. The arena, which I thought was impressive. That is. Yeah, so I'm going to have to start listening to them and see what that's about. So they're doing a concert tonight. Sounds like fun. It's going to be busy downtown. I love smoking on these types of weekends. It's just so busy and it feels so fun. We also have tomorrow Batman. In concert at the symphony. Oh, yeah, that's right. It's the 1989 Batman. Oh. For me, that was the Batman. Sam Adams said the same thing. Yeah. He said that is the Batman movie. And I said it's probably going to be some dispute. Well, I know they're younger people. Like, they don't. They don't appreciate. Well, there's been other that were more targeted toward them. But I remember when that Batman thing in 89, that was, to me, that was the zenith of, you know, movie, like hype and all the merchandise that went with it. I remember that. I was in, I think, eighth or ninth grade. Careful. I'm not trying to make you feel bad. I had been in radio about 10 years. Hi. I had flunked out like 10 times. So I was 20 when I was in eighth grade. It makes me feel way better. At that point, I had already dropped out of college once and moved home again. So 89 was a great year for me. I was living home, living off my parents. I loved it. Those were good days. Perfect. Yes. Yeah, so they play the film and the symphony plays the soundtrack and all the music's by Danny Elfman. So it should be fun. That'll be great. I'm flying in a staff writer for Runner's World this weekend. She's going to be covering the race. And then I have a couple of content creators from New York City coming in as well tomorrow. So the content creators are going to be at the Batman thing tomorrow. Wow. They haven't been in the Fox. Oh, how cool. You've got to see this. It's really pretty. Yeah. You're going to be on New York City time, but it's going to be working. Okay. But, yeah, so I'm curious to see what kind of footage they get out of there. Well, they could. They picked a good Bloom's Day to come. I know. So for those content creators, they...
You pay for them to come. Yes. You take care of their bill completely. Yep. And when you say content, are they just people who have created a following for themselves on social media? Exactly. They're not like journalists or anything from a magazine. They're just people who have that much influence. And some of them are, you know, you get some of the journalists who are. multifaceted. So they're doing content creation and they're selling articles to things like Conday Nast and Travel and Leisure and New York Times or whatever. Although New York Times is tricky. Toleretic here from 2311 racing. Victory Lane? Yeah, it's even better with Chumba by my side. Race to Chumpa Casino.com. Let's Chumba. No purchase necessary. VTW Group. Voidware prohibited by law. CTNCs, 21 Plus. Sponsored by Chumba Casino. But. Yeah, so this couple, that's a married couple, they have built a following on Instagram and TikTok and YouTube, and they do really cool things. They travel all over the world and pay them to come. I want to do that. I know. It's a great job, but it's a lot of work. I think it's a lot of work. I think people just see the fun travel part of it and they don't see the work that goes into it. Yes. And they are. working hard. Like, they're working. And then they'll do a big, you know, write up a big blog. Have they been to Spokane before? They have. I brought them here this winter to do skiing and all our winter stuff. And they did such a great job. Oh. So we're teaming up with Visit Walla Walla and doing a spring road trip. So they're flying into Spokane. Brilliant. And they're going to stay here a couple days. They're going to do Bloomsday and cover all that. They're going to go do things like the Batman film and. eat in our restaurants, go to some of our tasting rooms and wine, and they'll be posting stories on their Instagram and TikTok. Nice. And the whole time they're here, and then they're going to drive down to Walla Walla. So we have them stopping in Dayton. They're going to go to the Paloese Falls. I have them going to Wash Tuckna to the Griffith. Jeez. So they're going to go the other route then where you drive through neighborhoods and, yeah. Oh, cool. It should be fun. They're going to stay at the hardware hotel, and then they'll end up in Walla Walla, and they'll spend a couple days there for the Hot Air Balloon Festival that's happening next week. So they're here for a week, and then they'll come back through Spokane a flyout. Are they wine people? They must be wine people. Yeah. Yeah. They're great. So Bobo and Chi Chi is their handle. Okay. Look for Bobo and Chi Chi content starting tomorrow. Yeah. I'll be posting stories from Bloomsday. All sorts of stuff. Wow. Yeah, but I'm really excited about the Runner's World gal as well. Yeah. I'm curious to see what she gets. She is a journalist, and I'm hoping that she can land a story in the magazine. Yeah. I am a subscriber to Runner's World. Nerdy, I know. I wear my hydration vest when I'm reading. Hey, Jen, our friend Jen Lance, who she does a ton. She said she runs with one that's insulated. She said it was highly recommended for margaritas for you. So it would be great. Yes. And then Trevor says Kate should get a hold of Josh and Jace here. Oh, okay. Who are the? Are they local influencers? I don't know.
I will look. I thought it was like a name that I don't know who that is either. It says it to get them here. So. Oh, I'll look them up. I don't. I will look them up. Good. Yeah, so, yeah, it should be fun. Okay, we also have the Star Wars trilogy marathon at the Garland Theater this weekend. $25 gets you in, and it's just there playing. The original three from our kids. Oh, that's legit. That is happening tomorrow. So you could just pay $25 and pop in at any time and just catch. Oh, that's cool. And see Star Wars on the big screen again. Yeah. That was very cool. I know. Movies that changed ever those first two. I never, I don't know that the third one. I don't know that I ever saw the third one. Return of the Jedi. Was that the one? Oh, yeah, because it was Star Wars. Empire Strikes Back, which I thought was the, to me, that was the better movie. Return of the Jedi was where we met Yoda. Oh, I did see that. Of course I saw that. And he had to, he, he, um, he, um, Like, the thing was sunk, and then he had to bring it out of the swamp. That was like 80. 82, 83. I'm trying to think. Anyway. Yeah. You see all three of them. Yeah. Go do it. In the theater. It's going to be great. Yeah. And it's first Friday tonight, so it's going to be hopping downtown. Goodness. Everything. Yeah. I know. It's happening. And now first Friday, downtown Spokane Partnership does that first Friday face off in the Parcade Plaza, that little courtyard outdoors, you know, of the parcade. What does that mean? Face off. They have artists facing off and like doing challenges. Oh. Yeah. I think you can win prizes and there's stuff going on. Probably drinks of some sort. Like a speed thing? Like they're drying something super fast or? That I don't know. Challenge. Some sort of challenge. Okay. I don't know if it changes every month. But. There. First Friday. And then how does First Friday go through October? Like what's the? It's every month. It's year round. Oh, even in the winter? Yep. Even in the winter. And then they like artists can apply to be featured on First Friday. So they open it back up as soon as they start the new month and they'll send out a little Adriano Espaillat will send out a little thing saying, hey, you want to be featured and I'll apply here. Or if you want to be a business, it features an artist to play here. Can you change it up? First Friday. All Fridays are good, but the first one's pretty great. The first one's great. And it's May. Yes. Hey.
Well, see you at Bloomstay. Thanks, Kate. Yeah, I will not have vodka in my little vest. Just so you know. But I will have jelly beans. I use the Trader Joe's little jelly beans. Oh, that's your little sugar kick. Yeah. And then I just like, that's good. Those are all pro moves. She's got her hydration fest. I'm still going to be barping. It's too hot. And 112 is the target. Anything below 112 is great, but I would like to go faster than that. Yeah. We'll see. I like to set my bar pretty low so that when I do better than that, I can say, look, like, yay, me. I'm a winner. I'm a winner. 42. All right, Kate. Thanks, Kate. Have a great weekend. You too. We'll have lots to catch up on next weekend. Yeah, we will. See how you did. I'm excited to hear about your race. Well, it's a walking. You're still walking. I'm still doing it. Still doing it. Get the shirt. Any leaks on the shirt? What are we hearing about the shirt? It's got to be a good one. It's the 50th, right? It's got to be a great shirt. I'm assuming what color do you think it's going to be. White. We were trying to... Oh, it better. I want more than white. Wasn't it an off white last year? Remember the year it was rust color? Yeah. Yep. I want something very bright and springy. Like a pink. A pink, I would love a pink. You do sport a good pink shirt. I like pink. I know. Yeah, yeah. It says color. Yep. I like something that just is like... Oh, happy. I'm unhappy. Anyway. All right. Thanks, Kate. You're welcome. Thank you. All right, we're back after a break. We will play the showdown in our 8 o'clock hour. Sam Adams will also join us and will be going live on SWX here in minutes. The Dave and Molly show continues live from the Numerica Studios, which is where we're broadcasting from now.
We now return to the Dave and Molly Show. Hey, welcome back, everybody. Happy Friday, and we welcome in our viewers to SWX, or viewers of SWX. Yes. Getting ready for the weekend, the big Blumstay weekend, which I think Blumstay will be covered on an SWX. Oh, yeah. Yeah. It's a big, big thing. We'll get ready for Blumstay. Molly will be doing Blumstay. You're running it this year. I love your spirit. Yes, I'm going to start training today. Yeah. I thought I'd give her a try to go ahead and out and kick the dirt off the tires. You're going to cram for Bloomsday. Yeah, cram. And I'm at carboload just in case, for everybody else's sake. I've been carboloading for the last year getting ready for this. Good for you. Yeah. That's the way it should be. What I may do actually, probably what I will do on Sunday morning is I will take the doggy for a nice walk and I'll go to the ridge and I will watch the happenings down there. Oh, yeah. Pretty cool. The stream of people. Yeah. From our YouTube text line, Shannon texted in that her dad used to run Bloom's Day twice because he would be in the heat of the marathon training and he would put on the shirt and then run it backwards, find them in the crowd, and then finish. Good for him. And. Wow. I think Ken did that one year where he ran. And then he came back and then walked with his family. Yes. I think it's the... Back when he was doing it in 48 minutes. Yeah. God, Hopkins. Who knew? Quite something. And he's like very... I mean, if you had done it in 48 minutes and back in the day when our old producer was, you know, spewing this nonsense about, oh, I could do it in 42. I never remember Ken pulling out that card. I don't either. I just remember him being really upset with him and saying, you don't know what you're talking about, but he never said, look, I've done it in 48 minutes, and I'm telling you, you could never do it in 42. And to his credit, he's a modest man. If I did something like that, I'd have t-shirts made up. The whole city would know I'd hire an airplane to sky ride it. I mean, wouldn't you be excited? I mean, wouldn't you be bragging about that more? It's legit, yeah. That's a pretty big deal. I think just finishing it anymore is a pretty big accomplishment. Yeah. So. I really want to see the numbers. I know they were pushing really hard for 50,000 runners. I'm guessing that they're going to fall short of that just because, again, like, if they would have hit it, we'd be hearing about it. But it's still a great thing. And the 50th year of Bloom's Day, that's something. It's pretty good. Way to go Spokane, USA. Nice job. Yeah. Nice job. We're going to have Sam Adams join us in this 8 o'clock hour. We're going to be talking about, among other things, Molly spied on him yesterday as he was at the driving range, preparing for a big golf battle today. He's got a brand new driver that he's very proud of. I scouted him hard. And I'll say his young protege, his son, Grant, also. Looking for excitement Chumba Casino is here. A competitor. And he's actually worried about Grant beating him. So he's not only got you on his lines. He's, I think mentally, and then he's got his son there, seeing him. I think you may have a better position from a mental standpoint because I think it's a lot of pressure. And he's also sore from... He doesn't want to lose in front of his son. Oh, that's humiliating. Oh, oh, oh. And you wouldn't want him to lose in front of his son, would you? You don't care. Okay. I was just looking at some of the old... A social media post of this day. And I think there were four times I was playing golf with our old friend Dan Kleckner. And his birthday is May 3rd. But we were, this was showing up on the timeline from years ago. And there were always entries of our big battles. Well, one of the things that we loved the most was beating the other person on their birthday round. That was like... Terrible. It was like winning a playoff game on somebody else's home court. Yeah. You know, it's just that... That's an extra special thing. And so there were two of them in there that I scrolled through and that, oh, yeah, that was a good year when I beat him on his birthday, his birthday round. That's me. Yeah. So, and then I've beat him in front of his sons before. And then he's beat me with his sons cheering him on. And you don't ever have your son's never going to pick up. No. I don't know. He made at some point, but yeah, he hasn't been on the golf course with me. So when he was a kid and you were a chess person and he was a chess person, when was the first time he beat you at chess? I remember it very well. Do you? Yes. Yeah. And it was kind of like we were talking about the four-minute mile thing. Like he was close to beating me and he never did. And then once he beat me, I think I beat him twice more in the next forever. Yeah. Next, you know, 50 rounds. So once he broke through and then now it's, I could never be him now. But. That's in the Nate Bargettze book. He said once any of them beat their father at anything, his father never played that game against. It was just an off-limits game. He said, I've done my work here. We're out. I guess that's one way. I don't know. Quinn, does your dad, I mean, you have four boys. Yeah. I remember vividly it was a very big deal because we used to play. My best friend, Nate, is shorter guy compared to my family. He's like an average, like, 5'8 height guy now, but he was small as a child.
And so we used to play my dad and my younger brother versus me and Nate. And me and Nate could never win because even if we'd have a little lead, my dad, but then just, okay, we're not losing to use his size and we just bully us. And then in like eighth grade, that's what I like really started getting good at basketball. And I. was hitting, like, outside jumpers for the first time. And I just remember we went into that matchup, and me and Nate were like, we are beating them today. And we did, and I don't think I've ever played with my dad again. See? I think that's a thing. I don't know if mothers and daughters, well, I remember from Mommy Dearest, she'd always swim against the little girl. And she goes, but Mommy, Mommy, you always win. She said, I'm bigger and I'm stronger, and I will always beat you. And then she, like, leaves. Christina's just there.
I do remember playing basketball with my dad in the driveway. And same kind of thing. I would get close. And then it would just be the back down stuff. And it's just like, I can't defend this. It's like, we're playing to 11. You're up nine to five. And then all of a sudden, just give me the ball. I'm going to back you down. We had a little hill at the end of our driveway. So we literally, we used to joke. I don't think he ever actually did. But he would like essentially. Push us off the little hill and be going rolling down as kids. Yeah, it was very funny. And you turned out fine. Competitive nature. Yeah, good for you. All right, speaking of competition, we're ready to play the showdown. It was going to be, was it Sheila? Yes, Sheila. We need you to give us a call right now, and we'll get to the showdown, which is always fun. And it's extra special because it's the first day of the month and the last day of the week. All right for Dave's Cash Showdown. Time for you to throw down. Winning in a minute and answer 10. Dave comes in and answers them again. If your score's inferior, then Dave will reign superior. It's time to play around. Dave's Cash Showdown. All right. Are you there, Sheila? I'm right here. Good morning. Hi, Sheila. Happy Friday. Happy Friday. Do you have plans for the weekend? Are you doing Bloomsday? No, I have to work, but no, I've done it many years ago. Still recovering. Still recovering. That's how I feel. So what will be the highlight for your first weekend in May? Well, I plan on doing some plant. Shopping. Oh, yeah. Probably tomorrow. Good time for that. Yeah. I think it's finally time. I need to go visit our friends at Liberty Park. I need to go get the potted plants. It's time. It's time. Definitely time. Yeah, I've been itching the digging the dirt. Okay. Very nice. In case you want to mow a lawn. I thought your neighbor mode your lawn for you. My back lawn is a disaster. It is bad. Have you ever played the showdown before? Yes, and I actually beat you back in January 12th on my birthday. Oh, okay. Are you on the plaque? Well, she just, just. Oh, just this one? This January. This January. Okay. She'll be on the next plaque. Okay, got it. Okay, well, that's impressive. What was the score? Yeah. You remember the score? Six to four. Oh, she remembers the score and the date. Oh, yeah. Okay. Okay. That's a big deal. Yeah. Okay. Well, let's see what happens today. I'm going to leave the studio. Molly takes over. She has the rule. Oh, oh, money question. Yeah, I'm looking at here. Big money. Big money. Big money. I will give $2 at number one. And two, three, four, five, six, seven. One and seven, two dollars each. Each two dollars. Okay. All right. Good luck, Sheila. Okay. I'm a little worried about the money situation today. Again, I can't tell like if they're hard or not. That's what we were talking about yesterday. It's so obvious when you can see the answers. So we'll see it. Maybe I'm fooling myself with this money thing. But Sheila, what is your strongest topic when it comes to trivia?
Oh, probably medical. Medical, okay. Because I'm a nurse, yeah. Okay. Well, I don't think that's going to come into play, but that's all right. All right. Are you ready to throw down on the showdown? Let's do it. All right. Here we go. It's your first money question. What meteorological, meteorological significance is traditionally attached to cows lying down? A tornado. What traditionally tops the meat on a shepherd's pie? What tops the meat? Yeah, like what's the top layer of a shepherd's pie? That's how we'll put it. A crust. The Columbia River flows into what body of water? Pacific. Ocean. Yes. Typo is short for what two-word term? I don't know. Okay. I know what it means, but I don't know. This one Dave better get. He shudder. He has to give me money. Who steers the shell and motivates the rowers in a crew race? Oh, I know. We've been talking. Do that again? Who steers the shell and motivates the rowers in a crew race? You know, like a rowing race? Who's the one that's yelling at them? The captain. Okay. In Britain, here's your second money question. In Britain, what kind of meat comes in rashers? In a, what kind of meat comes in a what? A rasher. R-A-S-H-E-R. A sausage. I don't know. A top sider is a type of what? A shoe. In what Italian city would you find the Grand Canal?
Um, move on. I don't know. And who played the role of Charles on Charles in charge? Chachi, Scott Bale. Yes, very good. Okay. All right, we'll bring Dave back in. I don't know what the text line is saying, but what do you, how'd you do? That was more mid-astery, I would say, than yesterday. Yes, yeah. I definitely don't know a couple of them, but. Okay. All right. Well, we'll see how Dave does. My money is safe for now. I love all of the different words that have been invented in the studio. You know, earlier. Hard assery, mid-astery, low-assery. And right as we were leaving for our other break. We were talking about somebody. I don't know who it was. And Quinn used the phrase, yeah, he was doing things to and on her. Where'd you learn that, Quinn? To and on her. Because usually Dave will say with in, you know, like not, but with around whatever, he'll say different things, but just you skipped right to on her. And that made me laugh. We've trained you right. I think he'll never say the word intercourse. Good one, Sheila. Way to rattle him right out right before he has to go to battle. Good job. Now everybody can see his physical reaction to that word. Uncomfortable with that. He's sweating a little. All right, so she didn't win any money, but she did well. She did, yeah. Okay. She did just fine. All right, my turn to play. Ten questions for me. Here we go. Hey, it is Ryan Seacrest here. If you love great games and a little extra excitement to your day, I got something fun for you. Chumba Casino and I have teamed up to create an exclusive online social casino game. This is hard for me to pronounce, so I'm just going to try it slowly. This is your first money question. What meteorological significance is traditionally attached to cows laying down? A tornado. What usually is the top of a shepherd's pie? What's the top layer of a shepherd's pie? The crust. The Columbia River flows into what body of water? Pacific Ocean. Typo is short for what two-word term? A typographical error. Who steers the shell and motivates the rowers in a crew race? The coxswain. I was going to take money away from you if you didn't get that. I already said. I know you got it. Okay. Here's your second money question. In Britain, what kind of meat comes in rashers? Hash. Corned beef. A top cider. Ham. Stop it. A top cider is a type of what? A top cider. A type of what? What is it? A top cider is a type of what? It is a type of fruit. In which Italian city would you find the Grand Canal? Venice. And who played the role of Charles on Charles in charge? Tony Danza. All right.
Oh, boy. I didn't win any money? No, it was closer than I thought it was going to be. Okay. Final score. Dave wins four to three. Oh, harder than I thought. Oh, it's a defense. That's a pitcher's duel. Defensive struggle. Yeah, sorry about that. I'm just going to check the text line to see what's happening here. Because I don't feel like, was it only nine questions? Oh, you only gave nine? Really? Oh, yeah. I only have nine answers written down. Well, then it's the best of nine series. Then we each get the free one. Well, you each get a free one. So it's five to four. Yes. Five to four sounds better. One, two, three, five, six, seven. I am so sorry. So do you guys play when the host cheat you out of a question, you automatically get money. Well, you could do, if you have a tense question, you can see who answers it first. Oh, yeah. Okay. We can do that. Let's see. Let's go to the machine. Okay. Which smurf has a tattoo, has a heart tattooed on his charm? The blue smurf. Your smart asser is not welcome here. Smurphy Smurf. No. Barney, the smurf. Okay, here we go. This will be quick. Ready? Okay. What war was the setting of the TV show MASH? Oh, Dave, a Korean War. Well, that was almost a tie. Boy. Sorry, you guys. I'm keeping it as it. I've tried to buzz in. I didn't need to buzz it. Just go right for it. Right here, quickly, ready? What was the name of Batman's Butler? Alfred. That was a clear win. Sorry, Sheila. He got you. All right, let's go over. So I won $10? No. $10 winner. Let's start at the beginning. Let's start at the beginning. Let's see. Uh, mostly people are just mad that I only had nine questions, and that's a lot of meat questions. Very good. That's true. Sorry. Okay. Let's start at the beginning. The first thing is rain. If the cows are laying down, it's going to rain. That's the theory. Well, then it could lead to a tornado, too. Yeah. Yeah, well. Um, mashed potatoes on top of a shepherd pie. I think we've had this conversation before. It's a layer of mashed potatoes. You both got Pacific Ocean. Dave got a typographical air. Dave got coxswain. Neither of you got bacon. Bacon is what goes in rashes. And the only reason I know that is because I stayed at a bed and breakfast and they said, oh, bacon's in your rushes. And we said, what? Well, bacon and your rushes. Okay, it's a ratcher of biking. Did you say, why are you talking like that? Well, it was in England, so that's why. But still. And then Sheila got a top sider as a shoe, top sider, it's a shoe. And then Dave got Venice, very good for the Grand Canal. And then Dave, Charles and Charges, Scott Bayo. Oh, that was, what's the other one? Who's the boss? Oh, who's the boss? Yeah, yeah, yeah. So anyway, congratulations from our friends at Numerica Credit Union, proud sponsor of Dave's Cash Showdown. America Credit Union, they are the credit union that will help all of the cows lay down. Yeah, it's true. Not all people know this, but they've done recent studies where Numerica Credit Union is good for the cattle. Go on. Cows are happier when they...
are connected to Numerica Credit Union. So Numerica Credit Union should be your credit union. Until the cows come home? Until the cows come home. Yes. So you know. Oh, yeah, I know that one. Clearly she knows. It's not stuff I'm making up. People know this stuff. Mare. And buy free cup of Dutch love from Spokane's Dutch Bros. Spokane's Dutch Bros. Touch Bros. Cows have come home. Oh, they've come home all right. All right. Well, Sheila, you are so much fun. Thank you very much for playing. I hope you have a wonderful weekend, potting your plants. Send in your info and we'll get you your, unless you rather have us take a picture of the card and we can just text it to you. It's up to you. That's fine. Yeah. If you want to just text me a picture, that's super fine. Sure. Okay. Easy enough. That's what we do. All right. Thank you so much. You guys have a wonderful weekend. I look forward to hearing you on Monday. Okay. Thank you. Hey, real quick question. How do you listen to us? Are you listening on the app? Are you on YouTube? Are you on SWX? Like, what is your, what's the best way for you to see our show or hear our show? I hear you on the app. Okay. Okay. Yeah. I like that. All right. Very nice. That's how it all started. Yeah. Yeah. All right, Sheila. Have a great weekend. You too. Thank you. Thank you. All right. Next time we play the showdown will be Monday the 4th of May. May the 4th be with you. There's going to be some Star Wars questions. You know what. Do your homework. I'll be on it. Okay. Oh, because when you tell me, like, what, there's going to be certain kind of questions or if there's questions that you've had before, it's like, man, those are the ones that I... really focus on. I never make those mistakes more than once. Right. Wise. Sam Adams is going to join us in this hour as well. We also have our entertainment news to get to, including the new movies that are out. There's some big ones out today. We'll give you the rundown of that whole thing. Hot topics as well. The Dave and Molly show continues from the Numerica Studios.
We now return to the Dave and Molly show. All right, welcome back. It's the Dave and Molly show. We are live from the Numerica Studios, as you can clearly see right there. There's Numerica. There's Dave and Molly. I'm Dave. That's Molly. Quinn's right over here. Handles all of our stuff. Sam Adams. You all know Sam Adams. He'll be joining us here in a bit. And we'll chat him up special. Molly has secret video of him. I do. She was on a scouting mission yesterday watching him at the driving range. Yes. Now we have witnessed. Three of the videos. Now, I don't know if on SWX will be able to see the videos, but you'll be able to hear the audio, and it is him talking, and he reveals, it's almost like this ray comes out of his new driver. But he hides the thing off. And then he let his son hit it, and then he brought it back, and he goes, there's a mark on it. He cleans all his clubs before he puts them away and everything. And here's one thing I just have to say. We were talking about this. My clubs are from 2001. And we were talking about the advances in technology. Absolutely. And it's kind of like I hadn't skied in two decades. And I went back and rented these skis. And it was so much easier than I remembered because they'd shorten the skis. It was easier. So I think. It might be time for me to look into new clubs. You're leaving a lot of yardage out there, malls. I am, and I think I need more loft. I think I need somebody to look at my swing and say, maybe this is what you need because I have the same, like, they're called fat shafts that have been playing with forever. Even if I leave the irons the same, just a new set of drivers and stuff. Yep. That would be great. I tried to hit his monster driver, and it didn't happen. He let you hit it? Yes. Oh. No, no, I didn't hit his, I hit, sorry. Or did I? No, I hit the one his son uses, which is his old one. I don't think I used his new one. Well, his old driver, he never used. Right. That was always his thing. He didn't even bring a driver to the golf course. Right. But his son has it, and he makes good use of it. See how it plays out. Anyway, he'll be in here in just a couple of minutes. We do have new movies that are opening up over the weekend. The first one, The Devil Wars Product, too. They got all the, they got Merrill Streep and Anne Hathaway, Stanley Chucci. My daughter said it was great. She loved it. She saw it last night. It's supposed to do very, very big business this weekend. The soundtrack includes three songs from Lady Gaga, who is also in the movie. Oh, hey. That's fun. And then you have the animated movie Animal Farm based on George Orwell's novel. So this is controversial a little bit because we're thinking that, well, from what I read, originally it was kind of a social...
Yeah, it's just like animal farm. Yeah. Socialism, whatever. But now it's more about technology being a problem. Okay. Gotcha. And did you say at the end of the book, they all go to the slaughterhouse? Who said that? I said that. I read it a long time ago. I think it ends something along those lines, if I remember correctly. Wow. I hope that they don't. Do that. Especially for animated. And there's some big star, big star voices, I guess. Woody Harrelson, Jim Parsons, Kathleen Turner, Steve Buscemy, Glenn Close, Seth Rogan, just to name a few. So those are two pretty big movies opening up for the weekend. Trevor says, you know what's good for your golf swing? Mowing your lawn in the backyard. Yes. You should be doing that. Ladies and gentlemen, he's here. Is it time? Let's go. And now... Playing your walk-up music. ...to-forward Adam Sin Rafael, California. He's big...
The crowd goes wild. Oh, they are going wild. They love seeing Sam Adams. Happy Friday, first of all. They love seeing me almost as much as I love seeing me. See what he did that. I didn't recognize you yesterday. I walked right by you because you had... Hey, it's Bubba Wallace from 2311 racing. You know what feels like forever? Sitting on a plane waiting for takeoff. Good thing, I've got Jumba Casino with daily boost and social casino games on tap. This is a kind of fun that makes time fly. Why not turbocharge your downtime? Play now at jumbacasino.com. He's wearing a hat. And I don't know. Yes. I understand that Molly was on a scouting mission yesterday, and she did report some videos that we played earlier. And what did the recon video show you, Molly? Well. One, that you can hit a wedge 200 yards, which I thought was amazing. That was AI, fake, fake, lob wedge too. Fake video. Yeah, it was a lot wedge with like a 90-degree loft. It's amazing that you can do that. Like butter. Yeah. That I saw that, and then I did see that you hit your iron, your real iron, you hit it. Very, very well. That was the four iron that I would famously hit without a driver. Right. Yeah. And then we had conversations about how to tee up the ball because he said he never has to do that because with the four iron, it's low. Yeah. And then we were talking about, and I never knew this, that half of the ball should be showing that that's how you gear, how high you tee it up. That's how I was taught. I don't know, Dave. What do you mean half of the ball? So when you tee up with the driver specifically, about half the ball should be above, almost like a half moon above the club phase. I've never noticed that. I never heard that. And maybe that was just specific for me. I do it all by feel. Well, this feels right. Yeah. I'm getting used to it again. I again swung a driver in years until love with your driver. And then there was one shot where I uttered the phrase, oh my God, the line just moved. For betting purposes. For betting purposes for these two. Yeah. Now, what do you, what are you, when you were looking at the Vegas odds for our battle today? What are you seeing? It really depends. Like the long game, honestly, I'm trying to, you know how this is, Dave. You know, and people know, period. You don't want to be overconfident. You don't jinx the no hitter, all these things.
I feel extremely confident with my driver right now. Like really good. But I also know that overconfidence is you know golf as well as anybody. The moment you feel confident about anything, the golf, the game humbles you. It eats you alive. It eats you alive. It spits you out. So I'm a little bit worried about that. And then also, Dave knows this too. And anybody who's played with me, but really the last round we played, it was anything around the green, the wedges, the putts, it was, it was just, uh, it was so bad. So, so bad. And I didn't do any scouting there. Had I known you were up on there, I would have been doing that scouting, because that makes a huge difference. Have you practiced any of your short game over the last week? Afterwards, after Molly left, strategically, I waited until Molly left. Now, look, that was a qualchin. She could have gotten up on a hilltop and looked down with binoculars. That's right. She could have. And she could have fit in like a bird watcher. Like, oh, I'm just here looking at birds. Like she's meantime just looking down and going, taking notes with a clipboard. Like she's some road. I should have actually, when I got up to the top, before I went to my car, I should have looked back down and gotten some, from that angle. For YouTube. For YouTube. We have lots of stuff for YouTube. He did hear the conversation you have with your son about how it's not. It was the reverse of... Drive for show, put for dough. I was lying to you, son. It's not right. It's driving's where it's at. You don't putts mean nothing. There will be our competition. Yeah. Now you also have a competition with your son. How many times has he beaten you in golf? Zero. He's never beat you before. He wants to do so bad. That's his mission. I have my mission. Yeah. Beat you. Yeah. And then he has his mission beat me. What's going to happen? It's like a Mexican standoff. What's going to happen? Hey, those are my people. What? You know, because everybody's got the gun. What's going to happen if? both Dave and your son beat you on the same day. Will you be okay? Will you ever pick up the clubs again? Well, I'll tell you this. It's going to be 77 degrees or whatever it's going to be today. It's going to meet a beautiful golf course. And it will ruin my day. And maybe the weekend. That stuff carries through. How do you have dinner the next night and you're all sitting there at the table? That's the thing. We're having dinner that night. I have reservations at the golf course. Oh, you're going to say. Oh, that's going to be real. So the family's coming? Yes. Oh, my God. There's a lot of pressure. The line is moving. The line is moving. We actually reserved a room and I got a trophy already. So, all right.
Are you feeling sore-wise? You know, my back is actually a little stiff. My neck is sore and my back hurts too. Okay. Oh, see? This is all in our report. Hey, let me write that down. Oh, we got Spizito with a sore neck. Soren neck, okay. I had a sore neck all week. Didn't sleep well last night, didn't have sleep vibe. Yep. That's a problem. Now, you know, there's also the payback factor in this that Dave and I have a history at, are we saying where we're playing? Uh, we, you can, yeah, you can. I, I will, at this golf course that we're playing today. Yes. This is kind of where the magic started. That's right. We were talking about that last night, actually. Yes. Yeah. So, so, Dave and I kind of hit it off, so to speak. Yes, that's right. And we went down to the wire, and it was for actual, like, a trophy. There was prize money. There was prize and all that stuff. And it, he beat me by one stroke. Now, we only, I think, played nine holes. Correct. But it was down to the – oh, because we were doing – we were doing nothing but par threes or something like that. They shrunk the course for us. They shrunk the course. So now you know him a lot better. I know in the past you would drop his name if you were playing golfing. Dave Zazito. I'm golfing with Dave's Wazito. Yeah, but now we're all coworkers and friends. The illusion is gone, right? Now you know him well. For me it is. For people I tell, they're still impressed. You're golfing with Dave's Vizito. The James Posito. So with all of these things combined, I want you to set a line for us. And then we'll see if Quinn and I agree. You might be shocked with this. Oh, I want to hear the line. 2.5. Two and a half. Two and a half. Last night, last yesterday you said, I think you should leave it at four and a half. Now you're at two and a half. My goodness. More confident. Yeah. Last I talked to the bookmaker, he added at three and a half, so it might be moving. And here's why. Some of it is because I'm going to take in the history. Now, granted, that was when they shrunk the course to par three, essentially. But Dave and I. went down to the wire. Yes, we did. And I believe Dave's game, correct me if I'm wrong, your game is essentially the same game as it was when we played then. I have not gotten any better. That's a nice way of putting it. Yours was a nice way of putting it. But what you meant was what he said. And honestly, I think now that I have a driver in my bag, my game has gotten better. Well, it's, yeah, yeah. Okay. All right. You still got to be, you know. So now, how are you guys betting on this? Well, that's the thing. One of us has to pick a side, and I feel like just for the sake of the bet, the other one has to be on the other side. Yeah. And I just. Last time I had, I had Dave. This time I will take Sam. And I will give you, you'll give me the points. Is that how works? You're getting two and a half strokes. So I got to beat them by three. In order for Quinn to win. Okay. I like that. Okay. I'm in. A lot of pressure. Okay. A lot of pressure. And either way, I'm going to end up buying McDonald's on Fridays. Still a good deal for us. It's a great deal. Funny how it works out. We get the hash rounds. It's a winner winner. All right. And then not lost in all this, you know, our friend John is playing with us today, too. John can hit the ball a long way as well. And if he hits it straight, we all got trouble. But the last two rounds, I think I've only played two rounds with him this year. Yeah.
Both rounds, I've beat him by one stroke. Okay. And that's not going over well. Yeah. Because I think he knows that he's better than me, but it's not, it hasn't worked out on the scorecard that way. And he, he traditionally plays one golf course. I think Deer Park is where he plays a ton. And so he's trying to now, it's like he says it's good for him to get out on different courses because the driving. And the approach is different. And it's really good for him. Well, in Deer Park, you could be in another fairway. It's not going to hurt you. Other courses, you've got to, oh, you've got to get back through trees. You've got to punch through. So this is going to be. Maybe somebody needs to get him a three wood. No, that's what I use a four iron for. That's what I use the four iron for. Yeah, that's true. It's for taking medicine. That's what my ex-husband, I'm going to take some medicine, pop it out of here. That's what he'd always say. Even if they've never met him or that's a pretty good impression, A, and B, it's funny by itself. It works. He always had great. He's a fun person to golf with too. He has a lot of different sayings. We've seen him on the golf course. He's a very good golfer. Multiple times. Don't go making bets with him because you won't win those bets. No, no, no. He's good. What else is happening in your weekend after your triumphant golf? Careful. Well, we'll be celebrating. No. So you'll have dinner right there. And the whole family, my mom's coming up. That's a long drive. It is. Trekking across the whole county for you. Exactly. And so, and they're also, my son's girlfriend will be coming with us. Jeez. Yeah. So everybody's coming. And then on Saturday, we actually are going to have my son's daughter. Or did my son's doctor? What? There's news we haven't heard. What? He buried the lead there. So did he. So his... His girlfriend and their family will be coming over to our house. Maybe not now. And they will be having, we'll be grilling on the patio. Can we move on? Sunday, we'll be doing Bloom's Day. Oh, you're working, yeah, yeah, yeah. We'll do Sunday, and I'll be there at the finish line with Calli and Justin Spinning. Now, let me ask you this. What time are you leaving the set? Hey, guys, it's Ryan. I want to tell you about my new pastime, Chumba Casino. Chumba Casino has been around for over a decade delivering the most fun you can have online. after you finish your Bloomsday obligations. Well, we won't be on set. We'll be actually the finish line. We'll be out in the field. Okay, so what time will you be like leaving the finish line? Like, because we're, we're doing Bloomsday. We're walking. So I'm guessing you'll be long gone by the time we come across the finish line. That is true. I mean, I'll put it this way. Last year, I was able to, again, this comes back to my son and his girlfriend and their family. We all did the Bloom's Day run together last year, and I was able to leave my location afterwards. Go to that. You know where that church is? I think it's Lady of Lords. Oh, yeah, right? At the very beginning. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And I was able to get up there plenty of time. Wait, like, five or ten minutes or something for them to actually come through, and I just joined them on the course I went. Yeah, yeah. So, anyways, about that time. Yeah. So plenty of time. Well, that's good that you get to do it. Did I say she was going to. Do, no, she's not going to do it. I don't think so this year. She has done it. Yeah, yeah. Maybe she is doing her. I think she's giving her, somebody's giving a bib number to the. Yeah, her dad is registered, but not going to be able to be there. So she might be taking his bib or something like that to walk it with Robbie, I think she said. Okay. Yeah. Yeah. So that's the plan this weekend. Yeah. Yeah. Now let me ask you this. How is it going to go? Let's just say your son beats you today. I mean, I'm not saying that he's, but it's going to be huge for him. Oh, huge. Huge. That's, how do you, I mean, but inwardly your crush, and this is the beginning of the end for you as a human, but. Yeah. No, she's not wrong. But outwardly, you can't be up. Oh, I have to be gracious. You got to be gracious. And you've got to take a lot of credit for it. That's how you had taught him that you raised him to be a winner. This is what you were hoping for. You have to be like, this is the passing. This is what I always wanted for you, my dear son. Gracious in victory, gracious and defeat. And I'll tell you this, what would make it easier would be my son. I know for a fact, he's the kind of guy who would be like. you'd be very deferentially. Like, boy, you really, dad, I mean, I thought you had me here. He would say all the right thing. He's not going to be. And, yeah, and he's smart because he knows that when I play golf with him, I'm the one who treats for the round. So he wants to keep riding that gravy train. And so usually when, when. Historically speaking, when a son beats their father in any sport, that's the end. Once it happens, you're like, the dad goes, I'm going downhill, you're going up hill. That's the last time I'm ever going to play. But you won't say it publicly. You'll just do, you just check out. Yeah. As a son, he should want to always play golf with me. Because then he gets free golf when I play with him. And I don't think that that's going to be necessarily true with golf. I think that because it's such a weird game of ups and downs and mental and all of that, I think that. Things can go your way one day. It's just like anybody else who's, you know, equal. You're right.
I mean, he has youth on his side. He does. But you also have maturity on your side. Maturity. You know the game better. I've got a lot of maturity. So mature. You can tell just like five minutes ago how much maturity. Yeah. Almost broke our show. Anyway, I think that you'll go back. I still think it can be fun. I don't think it's a forever thing. And that's the thing I love about golf. There's the ultimate. It's got handicaps. It's got different tee boxes, different courses. So, you know. A lot of variables. A lot of variables. So let me ask you this. So what's the closest he's ever been to beating you? One stroke. And it was the last time we played. Oh, boy. Now, there are some factors in that, just like you and I, Dave, when we played head-to-head on the shortened nine-hole. My son and I played as well on an executive course and played nine holes in Phoenix. So shorter setup and only nine holes. That's a way different thing. You're in, you know. Okay, now I want to get in on the action now. You set the line for you and your son. Ooh. Oh, boy. I can't take on two opponents. I see what you're doing here. He's got my focus on two different opponents. Don't you bite. Don't you bite. Yeah, I'm not going to do it. Putting the cast out. Don't. He's just trying to. No, no, no. Not taking the bait. But you, you are a favorite. You believe that you will beat him because. He has never beat you. You don't bet on things that have never happened before. That's not for me to decide, but Vegas is keeping a close eye on this, and the elder Adams is the favorite. Okay. Well said. Oh, it's going to be fun. Oh, lots of stories. Yeah. Awesome. I love it. Yeah. That's good. It would be sweet. So good. So, yeah, ready to rock and roll. And we talked early. We talked earlier about the word of the year. Yes. Was it stressful? Stressful. What's your word for the year so far? Oh, boy. I hadn't even thought of that. What other words have come up? Underdog. Underdog. No, underdog? He said worrisome, no. Concerning. Concerning. I said debacle, then I said mayhem. I'm going to, this sounds cheesy, but I'm going to say grateful. I really am. Oh, that's a good one. Yeah. Grateful for my health. Grateful for my friends. Grateful for my job. Grateful for my family. Grateful for my home. Yeah. I say the more you read the news and the more you look at everything else that's going on the world. We are a very lucky group of people. So grateful is a good one. You're here. Yeah. I mean, honestly, gratitude, I get to unwind and hang out with you folks. And I love it. I mean, the friendships that we've built, I love that. Grateful for, honestly, like. The town I live in, I love, I love Spokane. We're Spokane lifers. Yeah. Love it here. I'm grateful for my family. Yeah. I mean, and I know I think sometimes you have to, you have to live life a little bit like this, in my opinion. That you can't always look forward to what's next and go, well, things will get better when this happens. And a lot of these things, you don't control. You don't control. your health a lot of times you don't control your career your whatever's going on in the world outside of you and if you keep on waiting for like life to change you'll never enjoy what you have now don't wish your life away don't wish your life away I invented that saying my mother will come in here and she will grab you by the ear and David listen to me David Spacito so my mom used to always say when I say I can't wait for this I can't wait for that she'd say
Don't wish your life way. Her other quote was when I wanted something really bad, she'd say, how can you want something so bad that you've never had? That was from the Joy Luck Club, I believe. Yes, it is. And then I go, yeah, can I still go to the mall? Because I really want those jeans. Now, also we had a conversation about my swing and my golf and that I need new clubs. You convince me. I agree. I agree. But what was your overall takeaway with my golfing yesterday? Great. I mean, you know, it's funny. We're walking up and I'm going, I could tell it was you, but just by process of elimination. Yes. As we're walking up. And I'm going like. I just started thinking about the swing. That's what we do. You look and you judge people like, is that swing good or is it bat? That's a good swing. She has a very good swing. Thank you. I just got all the other stuff that's, I need a couple lessons. I think new equipment might be good, though. Oh, I think it's great. I am the opposite of your swing. I said I'm the anti-Dave swing because you have a short, controlled swing. That's good. Mine is all. Yeah, yours is a little longer. She's all the way up. But it was fun. I was sore yesterday. Walking up that hill getting out of there. Oh, my God. It's a butt kicker. It is. It really is. And I thought, there's a good thing I'm not doing bloom stakes. I don't think I'd make it. So here, my son yesterday, and this might help with the odds. My son yesterday. So we went, we did the whole thing. We went up and down the driving range. So there's the walk. There's the swings. And we spent a good hour there. Then we come back home. As part of it, me paying for the. The bucket of balls and all that. He mowed the lawn. Oh, boy. And then after that, he went and played Latak Creek, and he walked. Oh, my gosh. What? Yeah. So his back, his legs were barking last night. Oh, the line has moved. The line is greatly in your favor. I never gave you a line, though. Well, but it's moved. It's moved. Those are the things that you need to know. The mysterious line, wherever it is, is moved. Aren't the kids amazing, man? How old is he? He's now 20. Oh, God. Good for him. That's, you do one of those things in the day. I did hitting the balls and getting up that hill. Yeah. That was it. Well, and Laytok Creek has two holes on each side where you, it's, it's, I'm not walking that. Do you carry his bag or does he have a push cart? He, the new bag he got, it's a carry. It's a carry. It's a, it's a, yeah, with the straps. Yeah, he just got a new bag. Oh, man. That is, that's impressive. And how do you play? What do you shoot? Um, um. I don't remember the score. I think he said he got like a 99 or something. Did he any birdies? He did not mention any buries. He would have told me. Yeah. He said he just had like one really bad shot every hole pretty much. Yeah. He said for the most part he drove it well though. I was impressed with him. Oh, yeah. Not that every shot was perfect, but when he connected it was like.
Sam and I are like, oh, no. Like that's what that's supposed to look like. That's what golf looks like. That's how the real guys do it. Well, the line has been set. The bet has been made. Yep. Okay, you guys are shaking hands. Yep. So I, for Quinn to win, I have to beat you by more than three or three or more. Three or more. Yeah. And for me to win, you just have to, you can lose, but you can't lose by more than two. Correct. Okay. All right. Done. Done deal. I got a feeling that's going to come right now. Do you guys want live scoring updates? Oh, yeah. Live scoring updates. And also, I don't want any pouting when I reply and go, thank you for the update. And you say, well, I guess they don't care. I guess nobody cares. It's because you didn't check your phone. No, I, no. Yes. Well. If you're going to do scoring updates, then check your phone to see our reactions because he sent a funny meme. I'm going to have another meme. I was very involved. Yeah. Last time we played at the turn, I sent them a message. Yes. you know, tossed my phone back in the cart and I looked at it again and I didn't see that they're... had responded. And so when Molly came in on Monday, she says, oh, so what happened to the golf course? And I said, well, I don't know. You said something. And I said, well, I said, what was the final score? What happened? And I sent an update, but nobody cared. We cared. We sent this. And then I looked literally right then on my phone. It's like, oh, no. They did respond. And they responded enthusiastically. And I just didn't, I didn't see it. I sometimes don't. You know, follow the phone message. So this time, maybe you do a group text with Sam and me and Quinn. That way we're all there. And then Sam will maybe see it. Okay. Well, now I know I'll take my Apple Watch off so it's not buzzing. Yeah. Oh, you don't want to get the... Oh, you don't want to. Fibrating the wrist. That's, lines moving. Lines moving. And no outside noise when he's out there on the golf. Yes. Keeps that out. We need some video this time, too. I didn't get any video or photos last time. That's true. We need stuff for the show. You could make my son the designated photographer. Okay. And then that would distract him. Yes. Now you're on to something. And you could just, you could frame it as just like, well, you know, younger people are much better at the social media and the video. So son, could you do this for dad? I can't. How do I press record on this? Where's the camera? Does this have a camera on it? And these phones will actually record video nowadays? Is that how it all works? I'll tell you. Good luck, everybody. Have a good game. Be good sports. Be a good sport. Be a good sport. Be a good sport always. And if you can't, if you can't be an athlete, be an athletic supporter.
It's from Greece. I know. And don't wish your life away. Mm-hmm. Yes. Bye, guys. All right, Sam. The great Sam Adams, we'll have stories to tell. Come Monday. What time do you guys play? A little after one. Okay, all right. Make sure you both know what time. Okay, bye. Oh, boy. He's got eyes on me. Oh, he says, this is a lot of pressure. Oh, it's a lot of pressure. And much like, well, he's leaving it. But I would say this even if he's here. He has not beat me yet this year. Right. So that's, you know, maybe that's the thing that I'm holding. Like, until it happens this year, maybe it's ever beat me? Oh, yeah, yeah. Oh, yeah. Last year we had. I don't know how much we play, but he beat me at least a couple times. Okay. I beat him more than he beat me, of course. I mean, that needs to be said. Noted. People need to know that. I'd like to talk about that for a while. And then there's the whole John factor, too. If he happens to be walking by, we'll have to bring him in, too. Because he's, you can tell, and he was a former athlete. You know, he played baseball and stuff. And I think that I'm looking at the way I play golf and my swing, I think it. really bothers him that he's lost to me. Yeah. And I have to go through that with some people. That makes sense. Yeah. I can see that. Yeah. Well, everything's fine. It's going to be great. As soon as I heard that that line jumped below three, I said, give me Dave, give me Dave, I'll take him at two and a half. So I'm excited. Yeah, but based on all of your bets, Quinn, I feel good. You're our bets haven't panned out as well. You're a what? A mush. Anything you pick goes wrong. I think that's a term in the betting world. A mush. Mm-hmm. That's good. All right, we'll do a break, and then we will have our, we'll have entertainment news, we'll have hot topics as well, and then we'll close out the week. Yeah. Right? Yeah. That's time, man. That's a full week. Yes. Thanks to everybody that's tuning in on SWX, on YouTube, and the nonstop local app. This is the Dave and Molly show from the Numerica Studios.

That has people like even me that are excited for that one. When is that? Is that July? I think it's June, isn't it? Maybe it's July. It is June 19th. June 19th. Okay. All right. Now comes the storm of all the kids' movies, which is going to be great. I'm not sure about this animal farm situation. I don't know. There's another anime-type movie that's coming out because I was looking at movies because I'm going to have Alex. And it looked kind of cool. It looked like that real... a Japanese kind of animation where it's almost like old comic book kind of. It looked cool, though, so he might want to see that. I don't know. He wanted me to take him to see Scream whatever number it is, seven. Oh, boy. And I said, I'm not ever doing that. I don't think I'll ever see another Scream movie. I said, I'll buy, well, plus, I think you have to be 17, don't you? Or is that PG-13? I think it's... I think if you're with a parent, you can go. If it's rated R. Mm-hmm. I think so, yeah. But I think you have to have the parent. I told him. Like, I'll drop you off. Go ahead. Watch your scary movie. The one that you can is the NC17. So even if you want to take. someone younger you can't. They won't less. That's probably a good. Yeah. Probably a good rule. I think that there were movies that we all saw that should have been that, and they weren't. When we were kids. Things that really aren't meant for anybody under 17 to see. Didn't have those rules back then. It was a different time. Uh-huh. Spotify. Spotify is adding a new badge to identify when music is created by real artist. This is because... There is so much new AI music. Yeah. And even though people might think, oh, I like this. This sounds great. There's just such an anti, you know, you're not supposed to like music that's artificially.
until, you know, created. Yeah. So Spotify will be rolling out the new badge in the coming weeks, and it will clearly mark that a song or an artist has been verified by Spotify. I think that's good. I think that's a nice thing. I feel bad for the musicians of the world, because if you make your living as a studio musician or, I mean, you're not going to replace the live symphony, like the Batman thing this weekend. But if you're just somebody who goes in and plays on commercials or whatever, that's a tough one. Yeah, that is. AI artists have been on the rise lately. Back in September, I don't remember this, but back in September, Spotify removed more than 75 million spam tracks. Ooh. They were all, you know, AI stuff. And who is it that's creating it and to what end? Why? Will they get money from it? Or are they just doing it for funds? I think they probably were getting money. Because if you're on Spotify, it's generating. Yeah, I think it generates similar to like how all like the YouTube and everything works like the more views and downloads and all of that that you get like they'll start paying you eventually and I just never know how that works like legally with AI stuff like do you have rights to those things after you made it in an AI software like because it's pulling that all of that information from somewhere else. So yeah I don't know. I think there's still so many of those things to work out legally. Just who gets what and how and the controlling it all. Right. My friend Charles, you know, you know, Charles, he had a song for his wife that he did. And he sent it to me and he says, hey, this is the song that he made. What do you think? Do you think he could ever play it? And I listened to it and I thought, This is fantastic. This is so great. I said, I didn't know. I mean, I knew he played the guitar and stuff like that. Well, the vocal is an AI vocal. He wrote the song and he's playing the music, but the vocal, you can actually have AI sing your song. And I thought, well, that's amazing. Yeah. And I said, well, would we have the rights to it? He said, kind of like what you were saying. Well, I mean, it's AI created, so I don't know how it's free, fair game for everybody. Yeah. So. Where is the song? Changing. I have it. I guess we don't really play. That's the problem too. Now that we're on YouTube, we can't really play music because it's a monetization problem. Right. We do before this. If you tune in super early before six, you'll hear all of the old songs that we used to play that come and go and stuff. Life is good today. That's the one that's always a Friday song. Yep. Good one. Spotify says that music is evolving and so are the ways you discover and connect with the artist. In the AI era, it is more important than ever to be able to trust the authenticity of the music that you listen to.
Here, here. We all agree? Definitely. Because you know how much I love to listen to music. And if I'm going to listen to my music. Oh, she hates music. Taggummit, I want to make sure it's real. Don't you give me to that AI crap? My jam sessions should be pure from the real deal. Go on. That's all I have to say about that. Hey, remember the other day we were talking about the Friends cast and the five remaining members of Friends cast, they are still getting $22 million a year just on residuals from the show. The show hasn't been on the air 20 years or whatever. Well, Jody Sweeten from Full House. Oh, yeah. You want to hear what her last, she got a residual check for her last eight years. For being on the original full house. Guess how much the check was? 50 million. $50 million? Well, they're getting $22 million a year. So if she's getting it for the last eight years. You'll be shocked to hear that her check was one cent. What? Yeah. Why? She says there's no syndication anymore because it's all streaming. Who gets paid for that? Nobody gets paid for that. The money was a little better a few decades ago. Right. But it was never a reliable source of income for her. Oh, wow. She says you don't know how much it's going to be or how often you're going to get it when the run of the show is happening. So if everything is streaming, that includes Friends, but Friends is also syndicated on regular. So you can get it on HBO Max, but it's also running on. Which station is always when I'm getting my... WTBS or TNT, one of those. They run it a ton and so that must be happening all over. Same with Seinfeld. I'm... Seinfeld's probably... So maybe full house. Hang on a second. Why is SWX interrupting the program with three minutes of commercials? Oh. I don't know. I didn't know it was. I don't know. Was it when we paused? No, this is coming in from Carl. I don't know. It's not a plane. We got our people on it. Yeah, we have our best people on it. But we're still here on YouTube and we're still on. Because we did everything we were supposed to do. We're doing, right? Yeah. Stuff happens sometimes. Well, I say if stuff happens then. That's why I am running for president of the company. Oh, she's running for stuff again. Oh, boy. And then Olivia Rodriguez just released the dates for her North American and European tour. Oh, boy. So that's kind of a big deal. And to coincide with that, she is hosting and the musical guest for Saturday Night Live tomorrow.
That's a big one, right? Yeah, that's going to be a huge one. So now, Quid, let me ask you this, because we've never really talked about concerts and you. Yeah. Let's say somebody like Chappell Rhone comes to Seattle or Portland. Do you guys do it? Well, here's my only problem. I don't like paying the money for concerts. I love going to concerts, but I don't like spending tons of money on it. So there was a time, like... three, four years ago where you could see a lot of the bands that we liked for like 60 bucks. Yeah. And now a lot of, like, when Noah Khan came and played at the pavilion, I think it was like $100 or something like that. Yeah. And now if you want to go see him at the gorge, it's like $6.50. So, yeah, it's pretty crazy. So. Wow. I feel like the brandy thing, we got, I thought that was going to really get us. But honestly, for a whole weekend, I'm staying there and seeing her twice. It's not that bad. But that's ridiculous. It's crazy. Yeah, that was, because we didn't see him when he was here. And then we were like, oh, we should go see him when he plays the gorge and the tickets were absurd. So we did not. But in theory, if I had relatively reasonable priced tickets to get for stuff, I love going to concerts and love doing them. And I'll go watch, even if I don't know a band or something, I'd happily go watch. What? Live music is fantastic. As long as it's in the genre that I somewhat enjoy, I'll happily go listen to pretty much anything. All right. And I'm guessing that, you know, someone like, well, for sure, Chapel Rone, but like Olivia Rodriguez, you're getting, and Swifty, of course, you're getting a show. Oh, yeah, I love that. You know, there's, you know, multiple. costume changes and the spectacle of it all. It's not just like, that was my big knock on, there was a time when I, I'll freely admit this. I was a Celine Dion fan. I thought Celine Dion, the most amazing voice. I loved all that. But. Toleretic here from 2311 racing. Game nights fun until someone spends five minutes lining up one shot. There was a thing where she was doing a thing in Vegas, and I thought, well, I don't, that's not a performer that I need to. Yeah. Pay huge dollars to just see her in front of a microphone, you know, and nothing against her, but it's not, that's not the. When I think of a Vegas show, I want the show. Jennifer Lopez, that was a show. Oh, yeah. You bring his show. Brittany, same thing. Brittany was awesome. I love shows like that. And then Cindy Lopper and Cher, when they came, Cindy Lopper was amazing. She ran all the way to the top of the arena. She actually, I thought she was more, I thought she was more entertaining than Cher, if you could believe that. But the Shania Twain show, she, lots of content. Yeah, I mean, that's a lot of fun. And if.
If you're somebody like Elton John, you can sit at the piano, and I'm going to listen to every single song. If you're Billy Joel, I loved every sing except Rupptown girl, but they sang all the hits. There was no just jamming. And that was my only thing with Journey. And I loved, I appreciated this, the setting. It was wonderful. It was a work night, which is hard. Yeah. But. When I see them going back and forth, like, yeah, oh, yeah, yeah. It's like, yeah, watch them. Look at them looking at us. We're playing for each other. You're ruining it for everybody. Not everybody. For me. Because, and, you know, I. Chicago, we'll go to see Chicago, but I like some of their shows better than others. When we saw them in Seattle, I did not care for their show, mainly because it was too big of a venue for them. They didn't sound very good. And that, we had just come from them sounding spectacular. And Earth, Wind and Fire was fun, you know, but they were, it's a different kind of band, right? So it all depends on... What you're in the mood for. And I like seeing Brandy at the Gorge. It's the perfect setting for Brandy Carlyle. I did not like seeing her at Madison Square Gardens. But it just doesn't work. So, you know. Oh, man. Olivia Rodriguez, the closest she will be to us, two shows in Seattle, December 7th and 8th. And that'll be a pretty big deal. When is it? Do you say December? Oh, my God. The tour actually starts. Yeah, it starts fairly soon. And she'll be back east, then she's doing some Canadian dates and some European thing. But then the second part of the tour is later this year. I'm looking forward to seeing her on SNL. She'll be great. Double. And I'm pretty sure there'll be two new songs. She's not going to do old songs for that. Yeah. And she's hosting. Yeah. She's good. She was a child or youth actor or actress, excuse me. Yeah, she was. So, yeah, so I like when she does stuff like this because she's obviously a great musician, but she's very good at the on-air stuff. Who did I see? Hang on a second. She was on a show. The Texers will be able to help me where she played. She was a star, but it wasn't, it wasn't Hannah Montana. She wore a wig so she wouldn't be recognized. And in it, the two like siblings lived together, but there's no parents there. And it's... Ariana Grande. Oh, yeah. Do you remember that show? Did your daughter watch that show? I don't remember the show, but I knew that she did that. What is it? I don't know. Victoria. Ariana Grande was in that. That was a Nickelodeon show. It was a Nickelodeon show, but it was two sisters. And she had a voice like this. She played a stupid girl. Oh, yeah. And she had to talk like that all the time.
But it was crazy to see what she has become from that show. It was Sam and Kat. Yes. They took her character. The kids did watch that. Yes. Yes. That's right. And maybe she wasn't a star and had to wear it. Anyway, but she had talked up like this. But she's another one who brings it. And she can do all the imitations. Yeah. She's funny. Yeah. Yeah. All right, we'll take a break. When we'll get to our hot topics. Hot topics for this day, May 1st. Today is actually our friend Ken's birthday. His real birthday was today. We celebrated that yesterday. A lot of heat on the music that was created. And none of that was AI. No, can you believe it? I mean, you can pretty much tell. It's hard to believe that there was no AI. You can find it on YouTube, and also there's a special on TikTok. There's a behind the scenes with the band. Oh, yes. Where they, we sort of reveal, you know, we catch them off stage. Working our magic with all of the instruments that were provided. There was one artist, and I'm going to, though, using that lightly, who didn't pay attention to the conductor. And did his own. He went rogue. He went rogue. And it would be like, and everybody knows this is the universal symbol for. I'm looking for who that could be. Everybody knows when the conductor does this, it means end. And there'd be another ding, ding, ding, ding, ding, ding. And then ha, ha, ha, ha. It was very disrespectful to a conductor. I call myself the maestro. Remember the episode? Or maybe you should be a mistro. A mistro. A mistro. It's fun, but you can find all that stuff from yesterday. All right. All right. Back after a break, we'll have our Hot Topics. When we return, the David Jolly Show is right here from the Numerica Studios. Hot Topics. Brought to you by Clark's Tire and Automotive Center. All right, our Hot Topics usually starts with birthdays. We referenced this earlier. Ken. Dave Ken and Molly Show, the can of that can. Today is his official birthday. We celebrated on birthday eve yesterday. Yeah, always celebrated. It was wonderful. And a new band was born out of it. Oh, I should have gotten the instruments out. Well, no, that's okay. He's sure? Oh, yeah, no, fine. No, we're fine. Oh, yeah, we're fine. Really? We're good. Other people that have birthdays today, Jamie Dornan. You've seen him naked a few times. Yeah. Mm-hmm. Yeah. He's 44, 50 shades of gray, and all of those. He also will be in the Lord of the Rings, the hunt for gallum. Oh. That's supposed to be in theaters in December of next year. You know, in all of those movies, you never saw his manhood. Oh, yeah. That's how I'll see it. You saw all of her, everything hood. But.
You didn't see that. Apparently that crosses the line somehow. But there are a lot of movies that have that now. Oh, yeah. And TV shows, too, that are just like all of a sudden you turn it on. Oh, goodness. The heck is that. Well, I think people would know what it is. I don't think. They do. But, you know, the other day I was watching, Alex spent the night. And when he went to bed, I was watching Euphoria. Yeah. And then he came out to get a glass of water. I was like, pause. Oh, my God, pause. Paws, sweetie, sweetie. Oh, my God, sweetie. Oh, my God. I just thought I would have so much explaining to do. This is not good. And it's just a TV show. Yeah. So you have to be careful what you're watching. That's right. You never know what then. No. That's going to happen. Tim McGrath has a birthday today. He's 59. I like Tim McGrath. Ray Parker Jr. Ghostbusters. Yep. And a few other hits, 72. Like what? He had, well, he used to be, it was Ray Parker Jr. and Radio. And he had a song Jack and Jill was a big hit, top five hit. And then he had, when you're in love with the beautiful woman. What's the next line? You know, it's hard. I didn't know that was him. Yeah, he had a bunch of hits. Look at that. I stand corrected. I did not know. You know, Rita Coolidge, right? Yeah. She's had a lot of hits. She's 81 today. Still with us. Still with us? Mm-hmm. She is Chris Christopherson's ex-wife. Did you hear that, Molly? Sometimes people get divorced. Do they? I have no idea. She also used to do things to and with Stephen Stills. Oh, and on? Well, maybe on. On. Yeah. Two with, around, and on. And there. Really cool it. Today is National Phone In Sick Day. Hey. We're a little late on that. Yeah. How can we didn't see this earlier? Come on. I could have slept in. Just look at the prep stuff. You'll find out why I'm not coming in. Just trying to celebrate a holiday here. And just so everybody knows, in preparation, be prepared. Don't mess this up. Next Sunday is Mother's Day. Okay. Not this Sunday. Next Sunday. All right. If your mom is still with you, make sure you don't mess that one up. It's very important. Okay. Yes. Yes. 59 years ago today on May 1st, Elvis Presley, then 32-year-old Elvis Presley. He sounds like. Hey, no, Mama. Go and give me a fried peanut butter and banana sandwich before I head out off to the bathroom. Might be there a while. So he's 32. Yeah. He marries a then-21-year-old Priscilla. Scylla, they got married at the Aladdin Hotel in Las Vegas. Huh. Just like one of your marriages. Not the Aladdin, the MGM. But yes, it happened. Have the same city. How'd that work out? Well, it didn't work out. It didn't work out. It didn't work out. And it didn't work out. So they get married in 67. They separated in 71. And then Elvis filed for divorce in 73. And when did he die? 70. 77. 77. 78. 77.
I was nine. Yeah. He died in August, August 16th of 1977. Okay. It's coming back to me now. He said, Silla. I'm leaving. Come on, Scylla. Don't you worry, Mama. Time for me to go home. A have a blue. Divorce Without you Nelves. 37 years ago today, the year is 1989, police in California were called to a jewelry store after employees reported a suspicious person. That suspicious person turned out to be Michael Jackson in disguise. He was in a jewelry store? It was a jewelry store. I just need some diamonds. It's ridiculous. They thought I was a suspicious person. They thought he was a robber. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. No, I'm not here to rob you. Just want some diamonds. Sounds just like him. So what if Elvis was talking to Michael Jackson? What would that sound like? Hey, now, fella. What are you wearing that sparkly glove for? Elvis is because of you silly. Now, what the hell did I do for you, kid? Have you seen my moonwalk? I'm so good at it. Well, that's something else, kid. Let me say how I gyrate these hips of mine. Come on, Bubbles. Let's go. Now, what would it sound like if Michael Jackson was talking to boy George? Mr. George, I think you're great. I know, right? I am. I like your glove. Thanks. That's a tour to force, Molly Allen. One woman action movie. Little Quinn sprinkled in there. Now, what if? What if? Tom Broca. No. We're interviewing Elvis. Hey, I can do this, too. Ask him about how, what happened on the crapper. All right. This is Tom Brokaw from NBC Nightly News. I'm talking alive with Elvis. Elvis, I understand that you were sitting on the toilet and never came out of the bathroom. Oh, yeah, that's right, Tommy. I sure was. Told by mama going on upstairs. Whip me up a fried peanut butter and banana sandwich. And I understand that the sandwich never came out, if you know what I mean. No, I never quite get that out, Mr. Chalmy there. You know me. I'm a Viva Las Vegas. I just like to live, and sometimes that doesn't go well for me. You guys are silly. 35 years ago today, the year is 1991 at age 44, 44. Nolan Ryan. throws a no hitter. Not just any old no hitter. His seventh no hitter. That same night, this was big baseball night. And I remember it was on Ken's birthday. So it was like a very big thing because he was a big baseball guy back then. So that happens. We get the seventh no hitter from a pitcher. No one else has even had more than.
Two, I think, or three. And Nolan Wright has seven of them. So that happens. And then Ricky Henderson steals his 939th base to break the all-time steals record, a record that will never be broken. All on the same day? Yeah, that's crazy. Same night. Same night of baseball. Wow. It was quite something. Yeah. That is quite something. Adam thinks that Quinn should try Nixon. He thinks she could nail Nixon. Now, Adam, you'll leave Nixon all of this. Not to be confused with the Grinch. The holiday, who be whatty? I think the Grinch is good. The Grinch is the only one that I think is actually potentially has some legs to it. You can hang your hat on it, unlike my Nixon impression. That's right. 20 years ago today, Shaq and Kobe. Remember, those were two guys that played with each other, and then they hated each other for years and years. I guess they reconciled before, you know, before Kobe passed away. But it was on this day in 2006 that they both had daughters. That's right. Welcome daughters into the world. Born six minutes apart. Wow. Is that Gianna for Kobe? Gianna, correct. Gigi. So sad. So. Hey, it's Bubba Wallace from 2311 Racing. You know what feels like forever? Sitting on a plane waiting for takeoff. Good thing, I've got Jumba Casino. When you, when they were playing, when the jailblazers were playing against them, they were hating each other during that time? Shack and Kobe. The rift was starting, but I think they were so focused on winning. They won. They won three in a row together, right? Yeah, and then they just started the, you know, it was an ego thing. And they fizzled. Oh, we have new call for Tom Broca to interview the Grinch. And you just won the Let's Go Checkers Award for the day. Yeah, they're Grinch. Thank you. Yes. I think that's a legit interview. Yeah. It is. I'm, I'm too tired. I'm too tired. Well, forget what the listeners and viewers want. I mean, who do they? Just like the Geoblazers, they should get to know you. You shouldn't have to go. You shouldn't have to do what they want. Just because our most loyal, Jeslin, is asking, please, I mean, that we should ignore her. Well, no, no, all right. All right. I got to make you good. So what questions would I be asking? You would need to ask him about his heart. Okay. You need to ask him about whoville. And what his plants are and his little doggy. Okay. Max.
And then what's the word I need to say that you say, who to hide a what? What's the thing? You could ask the holiday, so you're this year's holiday cheermeister. Tell me about that. Okay. All right. Well, there's a lot of work. All right. All right. This is Tom Brocah alive from NBC Nightly News talking to The Grinch. Now, I understand, Mr. Grinch, you have a heart that is actually. Two and a half sizes too small. That's right. I'm down two and a half sizes. And this year, I'm going to keep it off. That's right, Tom. And I also understand that you are the president of the cheer club. What is the? Holiday Meister. You are the holiday meister. A holiday hooby-waddy. These hooves always come up with some sort of crazy nonsense. Just to rule my Christmas. There's a little Nixon in that, too. There's a little Nixon in there. All right, very good. Thank you. All right. All right. It makes me very happy. Okay. I won't ask you to do any more because you have to save your energy for... That's right. Right. She's trying to wear my guy down. She's trying to wear me out. Yeah. No more impressions. And then 15 years ago, we all remember this, too. President Obama. announced that Osama bin Laden had been killed. Oh, yes. And this actually happened May 2nd, but because of where it happened, it was only May 1st here. He said, now look, he was alive. Now he's dead. He just got his death. Pretty good. Yeah, that was good. Shell and I want to tell you that he's dead. I had a hard time with his book. It was too. I need to speed his book up. Yeah. Like 28 hours or something. The first two books that he had, I listened to those. Oh, yeah. And it was normal. It wasn't. I think he became more Obama-ish as he, yeah, where the pauses were. Presentation. So. Oh, and you probably remember this. What? It was 10 years ago today. HBO revealed the fate of John Snow on Game of Thrones in the second episode of the sixth season. Yeah. Uh-oh. You were all part of that, right? Yeah. Yeah. Because people were pissed because he died at the end of the season five, right? I think that they thought they could do anything. They could have the red wedding. They could slaughter people. I mean, it was shocking how they would kill people. And we always say, if you're going to watch Game of Thrones, don't get attached to anybody because they will kill everybody. Well, they went too far with John Snow. And I think the people were like, this will not stand. And suddenly there's magic. And they bring them back. It's like a soap opera. You know, somebody gets fired or quits and they kill them off. And then the fans, there's an uprising. And then all of a sudden, no, it wasn't an elevator shaft. There was a, oh, oh, there was a mattress down there. So they're fine now. It's okay. We put their head back on too. It's great. Or it's like, no, that was just a dream. Yeah, it was a dream thing. Or this is their twin sister. Now they're back. That was the Joey on Friends. He, he.
I think he falls down an elevator shaft, and that's how they wrote him out of the thing. Yes. You guys are getting huge applause for your impressions today. It's really good. Gold cup. Gold cup. Gold cup from Carla, thank you. Thank you. And Jessen says thanks for the early birthday present. Oh, that's right. Her birthday is May 3rd. Yep. Speaking of May 3rd, well, we'll get to May 3rd in the second. Okay. But tomorrow birthdays, Ellie Kemper, we like her, right? Yes. Aaron from the office. Yeah. And then the Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. I loved her. That's a great. Have you ever watched the Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt? I think you'd like it. Yeah. I don't know where you can get it now, but really good. David Beckham will be 51 tomorrow. And The Rock will be 54 tomorrow. The Rock. Yes. Rock. Olivia told me I was dressed like the rock the other day. So I have my jeans and a black towel. Is that a compliment or is that? Well, she pulled up a picture that was hilarious. She goes, I love that outfit. You're just, you look at the rock today. And I said, what? So she pulls up a picture of the rock back when he had hair and kind of a little fro situation. And he had a black turtleneck with a big gold necklace on and high-waisted jeans and a belt. And she said, you kind of look like that. I said, All right, that's fair. I guess I'll allow it. I'll allow it. It was such a random reference song. The Rock was a legit football player. Like he played for the Miami. Miami, yeah, that's what I thought. Before he became a wrestler? Yeah. Yeah, I think he got, he had some injury or something, so he didn't, the football thing kind of fizzled out. But he was a, you know, a big recruit and probably could have played pro football. Yeah. Now he's a giant star. Oh, he's a big star. That's a huge star. I want to believe that he's a nice person. Yeah. I think he's a nice person? From everything I see, it seems like as nice as they get. Okay. All right. I like him. Good. Lou Graham is 76 tomorrow. Lead singer of foreigner. Although he has not been with the band since 2003. I don't think there's any foreigner people who are actually in it now. And you remember the story. There were two foreigners at one time. There were two bands because, was it Lou Graham or who was the other guy at the lead? I think it was Lou Graham. He had the rights to foreigner and there were two bands that were basically calling themselves foreigner. Yeah. And they were playing foreigner songs. So you thought, oh, I'm going to see foreigner. Well, neither. Neither of the bands had any foreigner people in it, but they were playing the foreigner songs. And then finally they said, hey, we can't do this anymore. So now there's some sort of regulation where they will only have one band that is foreigner, even though there's no foreigner. When they made all the hits, those people. But man, did they have a lot of hits? Yeah, they did. I believe that was the last concert that you, me, and Ken all attended together.
When was that? That was it? Northern Quest probably four or five years ago now? Yeah, I think I've seen them since then, though. Yeah. But I mean, but the three of us, we were all there. Yes, we were all there. And it was rare that we were all at the same show. But we were very excited for that one. Yeah. Yeah. That is a good one. I'd like to see them again. And then so Chicago's coming. And then there's another one of those bands that's coming. Well, Gene Simmons will be here tonight, I think. He's in town. I think it's in May 1st. Ooh, he might be in town. He scares me a little. Oh, yeah. May 2nd at Airway Heights. So tomorrow? May 2nd. Tomorrow is Gene Simmons. Yeah. All those old rockers are still bringing it. I love it. Bianca Jagger will be 81 tomorrow. What do you know about her? Bianca Jagger was married married to Mick Jagger for a while. Correct? What's the other thing? She's a man, man. No. She wears a lot of fur. She has a daughter who also is a jagger. She had a song written after her. Yes. Oh, I know who she is. She is, you're so vain. No, no, no, no, big shot. She's big shot. Yes, very good. You have to be a big shot, ninja. You finally got there. You finally got there. Yeah, the Billy Joel song Big Shot is about. a date with her after obviously she had been split with Mick. Right. And she, you know, you had to, with a spoon up your nose. But you had to be a big shot. Did you? Yeah. They were all impressed with your host interest and the people that you knew had it made. No. And the latest story of your latest success had them so entertained. Pretty good. I used to know all the words that song. Well, if it was playing, we could sing along to it. It's like we, sorry to come up with it. Uh, your friend, your friend, Cheryl Burke. Yeah. Uh, she has, uh, Jocelyn's birthday tomorrow. Yeah. I mean, uh, May 3rd. May 3rd. My friend Dan has a birthday on May 3rd. Oh, yeah. Big birthday. I like Cheryl Burke. Yeah. Danty with the Star. How many times did you say how many times she won? She won like four times or something. She, uh, she won with Drew LaShea. She won with Emmett Smith. She admitted to having a fling with Chad Ochosinko during season 10. Yeah. I think that there were other flings involved. Didn't she? Maybe. Yeah. She ended up kind of having a little bit of a meltdown and problem and had to go to rehab and stuff. Oh, really? Yeah. Oh, I didn't know that. I think she battled an eating disorder because, you know, all those girls are built one way and she's built a little differently. And I think that that, she's talked about how that got to her.
And if she was put on any weight, she's so tiny that it was like a big deal. So she had some eating disorder things. Then she got super thin. And then I think she was drinking or something like that. Oh, boy. I think it was after the chat of Jocinco thing. But she's fine now. Yeah. Everything's fine. She went to six-sail center. And they said, come on back. Shuttle, listen. Go back through a little show. Just don't drink during the week. If I have a drink on the weekends, you're fine. Put your attention shoes back on. You can break on turf. I always like that. That's one of my all-time favorites, the Chick-Saddle person. And then we're talking about bands or people that will be performing on our turf soon. Christopher Cross. Oh, that's another one, yes? His birthday is Sunday. He will be 75 on Sunday, and he is coming. He'll be out at, I think he's at the Tribe Casino, like in June. Hey, guys, it's Ryan. I want to tell you about my new pastime, Chumba Casino. Chumba Casino has been around for over a decade delivering the most fun you can have online. Play social casino style games for free, anytime, anywhere. So sign up at chumbacasino.com. No purchase necessary. VGW. Boy, we're prohibited by loss. See, terms and conditions, 21 plus. I saw him. at Northern Quest. And? Well, it was, I believe it was a Valentine's Day or something. It was Christopher Cross and the righteous brothers. Oh, fun. But it was only one of the righteous brothers. Oh. Which one? The good one? Phil Medley? Yes. Okay. Yeah. And his daughter was singing. So he, so she sang some of like the... Like the Jennifer Warns parts and stuff like that. It was great. Well, then Christopher Cross comes out. Uh-oh. And he was great, you know. But he seemed to be very upset that we weren't listening to his current music. It was one of those things like, well, I've been doing music for a long time, and I don't know why radio doesn't play me anymore. I'm exaggerating, but it had that vibe of like, oh, geez, man, we just want to hear you play your hits. I don't think you should bring that up. Even if you're upset about it, your paid audience doesn't want to hear your complaints about that. It doesn't seem good. No. Tacky. Jackie, very tacky. Sailing, ride like the wind. Arthur's theme. Doing things too with and on each other. You know, all the hits. Speaking of a hit machine. Frankie Valley. The great Frankie Valley. Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Frankie Valley. Later of the four seasons, and if you ever seen the Jersey Boys, that's the show. I love that. That's what it's all about. You've seen Jersey Boys? Yep. Well, actually, I've only seen the movie version of it. I've never actually seen the show live. But when that came out, I was in high school, and it was my senior year of high school, and we did the Mr. Ugly, like, type pageant.
They do where you go out as the guys and you do goofy stuff. And I sang Big Girls Don't Cry by the Four Seasons. Nice. And Big Girls, I did the whole, that whole thing. You actually sing it? Yeah, my mom's got a video of it somewhere. I'll try to find it. Oh, we got to have that. That's comedy gold. And also, now that we are more on YouTube and more, we need a repost of your original video that you and your brother did. We got to relive that. Timmy, did you know? Yeah. Timmy, did you know? Yes. That's your hockey playing. I want to hear Quinn as Frankie Valley. Oh, me too. Yeah, I'll find it. Did you sing the full song? I can't quite remember. I think it must have been a condensed version for whatever this was. But I almost fell off the stage because I did like a whole like, I like got on my knees and like slid forward at the end of it. I almost fell off. So my mom's sitting there. Yeah, you hear my mom go, oh. Frankie Valley is 92 on Sunday. Biggest hit, big girls don't cry, walk like a man. Yes. And then my all-time favorite was December, 1963. Oh, what a night. Late December, 1963. What a very special time for me. What a lady, what a night. If you know what I mean, I'm going to be on her later. Mr. Ed goes, Mr. Goes. Which righteous brother? The one that's still alive. Yes. Well, that's good. That's probably better for everybody that they went ahead and had the live one. And then I'll pause. We'll have time. This person celebrates a birthday. Well, she's no longer with us. But she would have celebrated her birthday, her 100th birthday on Sunday.
Ann B. Davis. Oh, wow. She would have been 100? All right. Alice, from Brady Bunch. All right. Alice needs somebody to talk to. Hey, Alice. Let's for lunch. Much, Jen. Hey, Mitch. Well, there's grilled cheese and you want some cookies. Sure, Alice. I'll be right back. I'm going to go get Marsha. Alice, Jan said it's having cookies before school. That's right, Arsha. Pork chops and apple shams. You know, I know you, there's a lot of heat on the Jan Brady thing. Let me say this. The Marcia. Yeah? Marsha's pretty good. The Marsha. Thank you. You know what I will try to find video of is me playing Marcia in the play that I did in Orlando because that was the person I played. I never knew about the Jan thing. But I always would do the, Jan, I can't help it if boys at school don't find you attractive. And it was always a school. Yes. But I'll try to find video of that. I think there's something wrong with the tape. The last time I looked, it was like, but you can see us and hear us. And it'll show my friend Babette as Jan. And she's so good. Dad, but she's really exaggerated.
Well, rest in peace, Andrew Davis. We had her, I think I told you the story. We had her on the show. This is before you started, I think, with us. Oh, it had to have been, because I would have lost my ever-loving mind. Well, she was not. She didn't like us. And we probably, you know, we called her out of the blue. It was one of those things where it's like, hey, we got this number. Oh, my God. We got her home phone number. We're calling her live on the air. Oh, my God. That's probably that's on us. Yes. Oh, she was not happy with us. And I think she was, she became very. Very religious and, you know, so. She was great in the Peewee's big adventure. Remember she was large March? She was the truck driver, wasn't she? Really? N.V. Davis? Wait. It is Ryan Seacrest here. There was a recent social media trend which consisted of flying on a plane with no music, no movies, no entertainment. But a better trend would be going to chumba casino.com. Wait, I think I'm thinking of the movie, the Brady Bunch movie where Jan gets a ride from a truck driver and it's Alice. Okay, yeah, yeah. Okay, I mixed up my things. Boy, yeah, it gave me almost a heart attack there. What? Then you do have exciting NBA basketball action. Now, Quinn, do you have any action on any of these things? Magic and Pistons, Raptors and Cavaliers, Rockets and Lakers. Well, actually, technically, I still do have, I need the Toronto Raptors to win their series. They were a pretty big underdog, so room for them. They've been feisty, but they could go down tonight. So Toronto is at home, and they could even up the series. Yep. Then putting the Cleveland guards in a jail cell, so they're good defensively. That's my analysis. Well, when you say sell, I think of the jailblazers, and I think, oh, no. scrolling. And tomorrow, the Kentucky Derby is tomorrow. Now, let me just say, and we love NBC. NBC is wonderful. We're on an NBC channel right now. But don't be fooled. They say, oh, the Kentucky Derby, it's 2.30. Yeah. Well, it's their coverage is like five hours long. Oh, who would ever do that? I can't imagine any sport that would do that football. You're complaining about the pomp circumstance. No, it's because it's like, it's part of the, there's probably, I don't know, 15 races at Churchill Downs, but one of them is the Derby. So they, the coverage and the lead up, and then here's the other. So they say it'll be 11 o'clock, 1130 hour time. I believe that the race won't go off until. Two o'clock. I mean, it's something like that. And it makes a day of it. You've got to be all in for the thing, which, you know, which is fine. But if you're saying, oh, I want to watch the Kentucky Derby, the big race, I hear it's starting at 1130. Well, that race won't be till later. Don't be fooled. Don't be fooled. Don't be fooled. They checkers out for a walk and come in. The current favorite is Renegade. Okay. At five to one. The current long shot, actually, there's three horses that are. 50 to 1 or worse. Okay. So. What if I was out at a casino before the race one out? Pick a horse. What if I put like $10 on the 50 to 1, 500 bucks? Mm-hmm. Yeah. I might put a little money on the ponies. I'm going to be at the casino. I may do that too. I think you should play the ponies. And it's to be 100% like. No idea. I like this name or I like these odds just for the fun of it. When I was a kid, and I know I've told you the story, my Uncle Joey, when he babysat us, that meant going to the track. That's where he took us, and he taught us how to do all this stuff, and he'd let me, you know, it was like a dollar to place or $2 if I wanted a trifecta or whatever. And I always loved, I love horses, of course, so it was excited to be around horses, but then... The bedding. I think at an early age, I understood the powers of the betting. The shark's teeth. It's not going to let go. But it was fun. We have pictures of us. Oh, I love the days of the horse races. The chariot races. Let me do the, do they call it? Chariot races? What do they call them? I don't know. They had those. It was mostly, well, if you were in California, they had those. And then they would run on grass sometimes and they'd do the chariot races.
I went a couple of times in Kentucky, too, to the races with a friend of mine who was really into it. Yeah. That's fun. It's a thing. Yeah. So you have the derby tomorrow. This is just in. They say it'll run closer to 3.30 or 4 o'clock. Tim says the actual post time isn't until 3.40 our time. Okay. That sounds right. But the coverage starts at 1130. Oh. Yeah. So. Just strap yourselves in and enjoy the ride. Take it all in. Yeah. And then as we mentioned earlier, Olivia Rodriguez will be your host for Saturday Night Live. She's also the musical guest. So that'll be fun. Good. And late night shows everybody's a repeat. So I'll have to worry about that. Yeah. And Stephen Colbert's winding down. And you know, I want to go back and look at the Fallon. They had Christian. They were re-showing Christian who was last week on Survivor. He got out because of the Jimmy Fallon secret thing that he suggested. And then somebody sent in, and he did have him on the show. But on the regular show, he's still on there. He's on the jury now. But I love Christian. And I'm going to go find that. See if I can look it up. All right. How about the weekend? We'll start with Quinn. What's Quinn going to do this weekend? Well, you're doing Bloomsday. We're in Bloomsday. We're in Bloomsday. So full on Bloomsday. I'm going to go over after work today and get my bib and all that stuff. And then get myself organized because if you go to No lie with your bib today, you can get a nice Bloomsday cup that they have. What? Take advantage of them. That's fun. So I shouldn't even let people know about this. No, why are you telling? You're going to miss out. But yeah, doing that, and then we're going to go back down tomorrow with Maddie and the rest of our group to get all of their stuff. And then we'll probably spend a little bit of time and take in all the Bloomsday festivity stuff they have down there. And then Sunday's the big day. So that's pretty much Bloomsday weekend for us and being outside as much as we can. That's pretty good. That sounds nice. I have a date with a very nice 13-year-old boy tonight. It's my grandson. So we're going to hang out. I asked him, I said, what do you want to do? And he said, I don't know yet. So we may just chill. Last time he stayed over, we just played games and hung out. But it was a school night last time for him and not for me. So I had to monitor that he got enough sleep. But tonight it's a free-for-all. He'll probably be up forever. So I don't know what we're going to do. We did the outside stuff? No. No, not him. Oh, no, not him. No. And we can't go to the casino anymore because he's aged out of the thing. So, no, we'll hang out inside. He's not a real outdoorsy guy. The girls like to be outside and walk the dog. But I'll probably walk the dog later while he's hanging out. And then tomorrow, Scarlett, has an 11 o'clock game. I can get you the line on the fever versus the blue team, whatever that is. We'll go watch that game. And then the rest of the weekend is kind of open. I won't do Blooms Day. My son may come over for a while. But I'm pretty open other than that. Awesome. Sunday sounds like a casino day for you. Probably. Yeah, that'll be good. Yeah. And new prizes start this week. I can't go out the back way, though, because of Blooms Day. Oh, no, you can't. Oh, that's right. I have to go all the way around. Yeah. That's right. I might as well just live there and sleep there. Actually, but I may go from the Valley, so it'll be all right. Rally from the Valley. Yeah. All right.
I will finish up here. I'm going to be very quick. I'm going to get out as quick as I can because I'm going to have a couple of stops, but one of the stops is at Northern Quest. And I'm going to check in, get some stuff coordinated there, and then off to the golf course where it's a very spirited round. And it's a beautiful day. And some of these golf rounds. you know, their spur of the moment. It's like, oh, well, the weather's going to be great. Wednesday, we'll play Wednesday. This was set up maybe a couple of weeks ago. So we had no idea how great. And then every day we got closer to this, the weather kept getting better. It's like, oh, my gosh, we're so lucky to play Sunshine Friday Golf. So I'll do that. Nadine will come out for the end of that. And then we have dinner tonight planned. Tomorrow we will get our... Our numbers, bib numbers. Yeah. And then Sunday is Blooms Day. Wow. And what's your goal time? My goal is to not die. No, this will be our seventh. Bloomsday Walk. So you're used to it right now. That's great. But not with 40 some thousand people. But you also won't have a pack of dogs and you won't have her giant, well, she may have a back. And they'll have real bathrooms along the way. That's right. I won't have to go wandering up into the trees. Please don't. Seat. You're the vulture. Excuse me, vulture. You spread your wings. Cover me. I'm going in. So. Anyway, so that'll be great. I know we'll have lots of great stories to tell when we come back on Monday. Yeah. Yeah, I got to get my lawn mowed too. That, and you're right, Curtis says, have Jake mow your lawn. I was going to do that last time, and then I let him off the hook. But this time, oh, this time, I'm in it. Oh, and then one thing more, this is a homework assignment for everybody. You can just put it on the text line. I need to find the best baked Alaska in town. Like who makes the best baked Alaska? I think he's got a birthday coming up. And she's like, we had to take Alaska in Boston. She says, this is the greatest thing ever. Now I want that all the time. And where's the place in Spokane that makes it? I think Beverly's might have something like that. But that's a good question. All right. If you know, let us know. All right. Have a wonderful weekend, everybody. We're back on Monday. The Dave and Molly show will continue on Monday morning. From the Numerica studio, this has been the Dave and Molly show. Brought to you by Northern Quest Resort and Casino. And remember, if you miss this show or any other show, you can always find them wherever you get your podcast.
