You know what your customers are doing right this second? The exact same thing you are, listening to me, which, let's be honest, is kind of flattering. But my point is, ads on IHeart Radio actually get heard. In the car, at the gym, on the couch, while people are walking their dogs, who's a good boy? Who's a good boy? You're a good boy, that's right, you're a good boy. So why not make the next ad about you? Get started today. Call 844-844-I-Hart or go to IHeartadvertising.com. That's 844-844-Ehart or Iheartadvertising.com. You know, my job, being the wingman, I was on the deck. You know, I was checking things out, letting them know I was there. I'm your wingman, I'm here. You know what I think is fun when you go there? You talk to the guides about the ship and what takes place on a ship? They're very knowledgeable, and they'll tell you how the ship operates. It's pretty amazing. On the deck, they have this little tent so you can sit in the shade, and they've got these veterans that are dozens. And the guy that was there, he was one of the pilots that would fly off aircraft carriers. And he would tell you about some of the, he was from the Vietnam War, and he was telling you had some of the challenges that you go through. taking off and landing. And it's fun to listen to. I mean, and you're listening, it's from the horse's mouth. This is the guy that actually did it. So it's a, it's a fascinating experience. Can you even imagine, Greg, landing a, what, $35 million aircraft that you're flying in the middle of the night, in the ocean, where you can't see a thing and land that thing on a ship? Yeah, it is. Wow. You see them. And they've gotten a little bigger. They have the nuclear-powered ones across the bay that they're, and that they have working. But man, I'll tell you what, and if you get down into those lower decks because they've got a bunch of them, if you're in the engine room, if hell is that hot, you would be, then it would be lucky. It is. It just seems like it would have been an inferno, the people in the kitchen and the laundry. And I just bang my head. I hit my head so many times down there. Oh. Didn't anyone ever tell you to duck? I'm telling you, I knew I was down there low, but I just kept hitting my head. My kids were just having a blast laughing at me. So, but anyway, you know, it's Wingman Wednesday. So I bring this up, you know. Good for you. Good for you. Good for you. Good for you. You know, doing my duty. Well, we've got a lot to talk to you about today on this Wednesday afternoon for a second night in a row. The U.S. military responding to Iran. Donald Trump said it would happen. And they did it again today. Boy, was he ever mad this morning. We're on air some of those comments. He was a little ticked off. So we talked about this. It was happening kind of in real time during yesterday's show. And. I had said, and I thought, I just don't know that if this guy has spent his whole life making deals, he cannot be a happy camper right now because they have just reneged everywhere. Oh, everywhere. They're making them look foolish at this point. And I think you saw that, the Vim and Vigor coming out today. He is done with them. He called them dishonorable people and worse. And he's done. He says he's absolutely done with him. Yeah. And he's going to go ahead and finish this up. And, uh,
He's not looking for them to participate. He doesn't want to talk to him anymore. Why should I? There's got to be a certain element of trust. Even a little bit. There's no more trust anymore. And I don't blame him. And, you know, what rubbed him wrong, and we read some like Britt Hume from Fox News had mentioned this too. He mentioned in a press conference this morning that they had, Iran had asked for them to kind of lay off or let's just give us our funeral. We want a week where we just want to be able to. Which they did. So everybody kind of just, you know, went back on their heels a little bit, gave them that time because they thought they were negotiating something. They had a ceasefire in place. And in that time where America was kind of on their back heels, trying to give them some space, that's when they attack and fire missiles at three unarmed civilian tankers in the Strait of Hormuz. And I think that is it. Yep. I think that's done. I think it's done. We gave them the time. Yet at that funeral, they're holding up these gigantic signs, kill Trump. Kill Pete Hegseth. I mean, this during the funeral for crying. Well, he's right. All right. Well, we're on talk about that. We're on talking about the socialists who say they're not communists, but they're lying. We know that. We'll get into that. We'll talk a little bit about this battle between our lieutenant governor and the Department of Justice. Yes. Interesting. We'll get into that as well. So we've got a lot to get to. But speaking of communist and socialist, Greg, I do want to start off the show this afternoon with this Instagram post I saw. And tell me if this relates to what is going on today. You're ready for this? Yes. Because it is so relatable today. This is a comment in a speech that was given by Nikita Khrushchev, former head of the Soviet Union, 60 years ago. Okay, that's quite a while ago, right? Listen to what he said about communism in America. You ready for this one? Yes. Your children's children will live under communism. You Americans are so gullible. No, you won't accept communism outright, but we will keep feeding you small doses of socialism until you will find and wake up one day and realize we already have communism. Hmm. I'll tell you what. I mean, is that prophetic or what? Yes. I mean, that's haunting. I mean, I knew he had threatened. What was it? Nixon, he threatened. Your grandchildren will be communist. Yeah. But he just described there how, and when we're watching that roll out right now. Yeah. Yeah, that's the guy who pounded his shoe on the table. Yeah, we'll say we'll bury you or we'll crush you. Is that relatable to today? We'll feed you small doses of socialism. And one day you'll wake up and realize. We're living in a communist world. And, you know, we used to have what I thought was a soft socialism going on here where it was socialism, but they were trying to dress it up as other things. They're just calling it straight up socialism and there's no hiding the ball anymore. All right. Let's talk about Mr. Trump. As you said, he has negotiated deals after deals, talks about it, but he can't get this one done. And I think his patience is worn thin. Yes, the ceasefire is over. He said, obviously there isn't one. Yeah. They just fired on these ships. Secretary of War, Pete Hegseth also said that they have taken out.
as many of their assets that Iran had left that they were using to cause this trouble along the coast of the Strait of Hormuz. Those were taken out last night. And as we speak right now, I think there's another operation going on tonight. Which when I was hearing it this morning, I don't know what time it was in the world in Turkey when Trump was saying it. But he said another one, I usually don't say this, but yeah, another one's coming in tonight. Because there's not a thing they can do about it. Well, here's what the president said yesterday when he was asked about the situation with Iran. This is what started it all yesterday. To me, I think it's over. I don't want to deal with them anymore. They're scum. You know what scum is? They're scum. They're sick people. They're led by sick people. And they're vicious, violent people. And if they had a nuclear weapon, they'd use it. As far as I'm concerned, it's over. I'll speak to our negotiators. They want to negotiate. They're good people. Steve Witkoff, Jared Kushner. But they have to come back to me. As far as I'm concerned, it's just a waste of time dealing with them. They're liars. We make a deal. And if I make a deal with him, we have a deal. And he goes out, he talks. We make a deal. Everyone's agreed. No nuclear weapon. We make a deal. They go outside, talk to the press. They say, we never even talked about it. There's something wrong with them. They're cuckoo. As far as I'm concerned, it's over. They're not cuckoo for cocoa buffs. They're just cuckoo. They are just cuckoo. And I'll tell you this, we've had astute listeners who've called in and talked about this, and I've read this elsewhere. So are veterans who have been in the Middle East and some of these conflicts. They just say their faith and how they worship, they and Islam, they don't think it's lying when they say things to deceive us. Yes. Because we are the devil, and so you don't have to have an honest conversation with the devil in their mind. No. So everything they say, you can depend on it not being trustworthy because they see us in a light where there is no, you can't be trustworthy with the devil in their mind. So they're not going to be trustworthy with us. There is, I don't think there's any path to getting a reliable. honest deal with Iran and I think they've proven it over and over. This isn't a theory. I will say this though. I remember when I was first elected, I was warned about some Democrats and some Republicans and you can't trust this person and you can't trust that person because they go back on their word. I wasn't ready to just ostracize people on the stories of how they were. I actually had to have some interaction with people myself to feel like whether I could trust that person. So I think that you could say all this to President Trump. I think he was giving everyone a fair shake and saying, look, I'm not going to take it. We will test this out. And I think that test has occurred. Well, here's what else he said, talking about lying. They can talk.
But I think they're wasting their time. They're a bunch of lying guys. I do it. My whole life, that's all I do is deals. My whole life is that's how I became president. I guess that's a deal too, right? But I made a lot of money. I had a lot of great success. You know, tremendous success. Everything I did, I was successful. And I deal with these guys. And I say, this is from a different school. They're liars. They're cheats. They're sick people. They've hurt their people. They killed 54,000 people as of now that were protesting. You know, when people say, how come they haven't taken over, they can't take over? Because they're dead. They killed them. Nobody's going to take over. They have no guns. And the other side has machine guns. Yeah. They're liars, they're cheats, like you were saying, Greg. He can't trust him. Then he talked about this agreement that he told the people of Iran are the leaders there. You're going to have a massive funeral for the leader of your country. We will not do anything on that day. But then look what happened. You know, they asked for a timeout. They wanted to go to the funeral of Khomeini. And they said, give it to him. And they start shooting missiles. I mean, it was a crazy thing. But they said this. Please don't kill us during the funeral. I said, I won't. And we didn't do anything. In fact, we made it safe for them, actually. And what happens? They try and knock out two ships. The Saudi and I guess Kuwait, right? Kuwaiti. Oh, no, Qatari. In addition, we did three. Three, yes, sir. So you had three of them. And... They're just, I don't know with them. A lot of people say they're very dishonorable people, and they can't keep a deal, so we'll see. Boy, can you hear the frustration in his voice. Sorry, more coming up. It is the Wingman Wednesday edition of the Rod and Greg Show on Utah's Talk Radio, 1059, KNRS. His price, apparently, he wants to have some input as to who would replace him. And a million dollars cash. Yeah, probably. And a no-show job. Yeah, yeah. They don't mention that part, but I think that's got to be in there somewhere. Yeah, that's part of the deal. Well, what about this thing? Joining us on our any hour newsmaker line is our good friend, Scott Pinsker. Scott, of course, is a contributor to PJ Media. He's written a couple of articles about this over the last couple of days. Scott, how are you? Welcome back to The Rod and Greg Show. Hey, delighted to be with you. Let me ask you, Scott, you've written articles about this. What is your take as to what you see happening here with Graham Platner and the Democratic Party in general? Well, I actually did mention the no-cho show the big pile of money is one of the motivation. Actually, I... I called this on June 1st. I think I did it earlier than in the media. But on June 1st, I told you exactly what was happening, that the scandal with Graham Platner had nothing to do with the Republican Party. It's a Democratic-led hit. And if you've noticed, every big scandal has broke one week prior to a big filing debit. The 11th for dropping it from the ballot by. And before that, the other thing. right on the latter campaign was at New York Times. That happened one week before the bear. Hey, Scott. Hey, Scott, let me interrupt you. We're going to call you back. Our line is pretty weak here. We're on try this again. So if you'll hang up, we'll call you back and see if we can get a better line. Thank you, Scott. Scott, of course, he predicted this. He's been talking about this, Greg. I love it. I love he showed that he talked about the no-show job, too, because you know that's part of it. You know, I actually think I. You know, live radio, it's tough when you get that bad connection. I look forward to him calling right back. But, yeah, I, Graham Platner, he's, he's sitting in a catbird seat. He is. He doesn't, he doesn't, nobody, it has to be him that decides to leave. He can, he can pretty much dictate whatever he wants. Yeah, okay, let's see. I think we've got, hopefully, Scott, we've got a better connection set up this time. Go ahead with your thoughts as to what you see happening here. Yeah, well, the short term for Graham Platner particularly, I've got a really good fig leaf. He can hold out right until the deadline and tell every supporter. He's doing it to make sure that those evil establishment Democrats don't give it to a moderate. Well, what he's actually going to be doing is he's going to be making sure that, hey, if you're going to be $50 million into the Senate seat, then why wouldn't you give me $500K to go away? Yes. The DNC has a few job openings. There are enough liberal things out there to need more. We're the happy to be a golden parachute on his way. And it's going to be nature. It's going to be nature. If we know they're from wild, we know he's a big of a radio friend, the term for it, but not a good individual. He's someone who is a shameless self-promoter. He plays quick and loose with truth. Why wouldn't a guy like that leverage the opportunity that he has for the biggest payday possible? If you wanted to drop out, he could have done it yesterday. I sure could have. Scott, we're going to have to end this because we're still having some line issues. We appreciate you. We'll try this again down the road. Thank you, Scott.
All right, Scott Pinsker. Oh, he's so good, too. I really wanted to hear that because he's absolutely right. They can say that he's trying to pick a candidate he likes. It is absolutely the case that he's looking for that payday. Sure is. Because here's where the Democrats, they pretty much have to do whatever he'd like because. They can't, this is so on brand for the Democrats. They did with Kamala Harris. She never won a primary anywhere. This guy won his primary. The people voted. And you knew at least 97% of what everybody's screaming about right now was public record about the same guy when he won the main primary for this seat. So this was already known. The reason the Democrats are going nuts now is they want to be able to. a point because they don't like elections just like they did Kamala Harris and Eric Swalwell. They kicked him out for the same reasons. They knew that he was going to undermine their chances and their power undermine their power. If he doesn't listen to them and he just decides to run, they are just stuck because what, so they'll pay anything to get them out because if he stays in, they would be forced to never mention any of these problems ever again. They will never mention the rape. They'll never mention. You won't see Jake Tapper asking these questions. He's been asking the victim that he's been asking now to build the pressure to get him to resign. All of all sins would be forgiven if he refuses to. drop out and then they get exposed as being the as phony as they really are yeah you know well and the issue remember platinum one because he he ran against what the democratic establishment the machine yes now the machine is telling him to get out this guy's going to go eh i'm not going anywhere i'm going to give you input on who i want And under the table, I want some cash. I want a no-show job and I want it now. I want some cash. And honestly, isn't it just so on brand for the Democrats today to not put the faith in the voice of the people, have an election, they're going to go ahead and let this guy win so that they can, they know he can boot. He's the most vulnerable and easiest to boot to then just parachute in anyone you want that didn't get voted for, you know, for that race. So that, I mean. He was set up to fail. This is the part of the process that Democrats now engage in because they like appointments. They don't like elections. And so anyway, I just think it's a, I would love, love to see Graham Platner stay in. I would too. I would. I would love for him to stay in because to watch them just wiggle and struggle under what they created, not being able to force him out politically would be. Brilliant. That'd be fun. All right, we've got a lot more to get to. It is the Wingman Wednesday edition of the Rod and Greg Show on Talk Radio 1059, KNRS.

That's 844-844-Ehart or iHeartadvertising.com. I read earlier... That comment from Nikita Khrushchev, former leader of the Soviet Union from 60 years ago. I've never heard that one, by the way. Basically explaining that socialism will slowly sleep into America, and one day we'll all wake up and we'll realize we're under communism, not socialism. Yeah, and it's happened. I mean, I've never read that quote before. I wasn't aware of it, but it's haunting because it's exactly how things are rolling out. Yeah. Well, all the socialists say, no, no, no, we are not communists. We're socialists, right? Yeah. But are they telling the truth? Eh, no. Joining us on our newsmaker line to talk about that is our good friend Scott McKay. He is the publisher of the Hayride, also contributing editor to the American Spectator. All right, Scott, they tell us that they're socialist, not communist. Are they lying? Well, they're always lying, but who cares? There's no difference between socialism and communism. I mean, socialism is like the baby steps stage of communism, right? Like, that's the part where you try things and, you know, you make lots of promises. And when everybody realizes that the promises are lies, that's when you become communist. Because, you know, like, you either give up power or you do communist things to keep power. And they always do the communist things. So anybody that says, I'm a Democratic socialist. Listen to them for five seconds, and you will realize that they're a communist. You know, I 100% agree. But, you know, places like the regime media, places like CNN, they double down on this difference. They say, no, no, no, you're lying. You know, socialists, they believe in free and fair elections. That's not communism. They believe in there is a free market present. They, they ignore the entire, you're on the bus to, you're on the way to communism. You are communism. You're communism light.
And they really try with a straight face to draw a stark difference between socialism, which they say is not is not communism. What's the quickest way to refute someone who wants to really tell you that there's an ocean apart between a socialist and a communist. Well, and if you're debating somebody like Bernie Sanders, which, you know, like you can use him as a pretty good avatar for all of these people because he's been doing it basically longer than anybody else alive. And what he constantly will tell you is, oh, we want to make this place Denmark. And it's like, yeah, go talk to the games. They will tell you they're not a socialist country. They're a capitalist country. We have a big welfare state and our taxes are high. But like, Denmark is a very entrepreneurial. They're more corporate. But like, that's a very private sector oriented place. So is Norway, which is another one of these places that they use as an example of what they want to do. The people who actually live in those countries will tell you, I don't know what you're talking about. We don't want Bernie Sanders-style government here. In fact, when people in Denmark and Norway run on that stuff, they generally get annihilated in the elections. So, like, they're playing on the ignorance of people who think that. You know, you do that. Not to mention the fact that Denmark and Norway are very lightly populated countries, the vast majority of the people in which are the kind of folks that the DSA communists do not like. Okay, everybody's a white European that lives in Denmark and Norway. You know, you can't run a melting pot type society like we at least aspire to. and, you know, have multi-ethnic and, you know, lots of diversity with that kind of governing system. It doesn't work, especially when you have to defend the free world and do all these other things. Everything about the construct these people will give you. Oh, it's socialism. It's not communism. Everything about this is BS. Okay. And we've got 150 years of history almost at this point. to poke holes in these lies. Because every single time these people have taken power, they've started off saying, no, no, no, it's a socialist thing. The most obvious example of this is Venezuela. Right? Yeah, absolutely. Every leftist in America sung Hugo Chavez's praises like that guy was a savior. And, I mean, they immediately started fixing elections. So, you know, there was, yeah, oh, yeah, we have free elections. Like, well, you can vote in them, but you certainly aren't going to get a candidate. They don't like to win them. You know, like in the 20th century, the old joke, it wasn't even a joke. They actually.
uh would would say it seriously was one man one vote one time you know like you and the the the corollary to that was you could vote yourself in the socialism but you have to shoot your way out of it and that's how this works and it's an obvious thing when you take a free society which provides unlimited opportunities and pathways for people to be successful and prosperous. Like in America, you can, if you can shoot under par or if you can, you know, sing a song or if you're great at numbers or whatever, like there's a million different ways you can get rich in America. When you go to a socialist society, the only way you can prosper and succeed. is through political influence. And when you do that, you invite monsters to take over. Because what happens in those systems is the guy who's willing to do the things that nobody else is willing to do is the guy who gets to run things. That's how you get Pol Pot. That's how you get Stalin. That's how you get Chavez. And every one of those guys died richer than Mitt Romney.
Every bit of this is, you know, is ridiculous. And the most ridiculous thing about it is every one of these people, the Bernie Sanders is, the Daryaliza Avila Chevaliers, the AOCs of the world, every one of these people think that if America ever got to be a socialist country along the lines of like Venezuela, that they would be the ones to run it. Let me tell you something. They're the people who get shot into the ditch they just dug because the useful idiots are always the first ones they liquidate. Even before the Republicans, those people will be the ones gone. They just aren't smart enough to realize how things actually work. So that begs the question. It took 77 million people. That's how many people voted for Trump brought them into office. Are there 77 million Americans and won socialism slash communism? Where do the old school Democrats go with this lurch to the left, to this communism? Is this a successful formula in any way, shape, or form? And what do these old school Democrats do? Well, I think they've already lost their party to the communists. I mean, that seems pretty obvious. Every one of these hardcore Democrat districts is going to the DSA right now. And part of the problem is... The old school Democrats don't have a message. For the last 10 years, their only message has been Trump derangement syndrome. And eventually you wear people out with that. Like I can't remember which one of Olinsky's rules it is, but it says, you know, a tactic that drags on too long becomes a drag. I think it's like Rule 11. out of his rules for radicals. And they're doing nothing but violating this rule now. And so they get in their own primaries, all of which are really low turnout affairs. And they're getting blown out by the DSA people who have a really awful message. but at least it's a message. Scott McKay joining us on our newsmaker line. Before we went to the break, we referenced the Nikita Khrushchev comment. I'll share that with you again when we come back from the break. Yes. Right here on the Rod and Greg Show and Utah's Talk Radio, 1059 can't. Your wingman, you have your own plane. I do. Yeah, you aren't some behind me anymore. No, at the Midway, they have like souvenir. You can buy, I can buy an Iceman shirt. Oh, and you didn't? I didn't. It looked a little too large. It said large, but it looked like a... It looked like Omar the tentmaker made. It just looked like it would fit me. Well, for those of you who just joined in us at the start of the show, I shared with you a comment made 60 years ago by Nikita Khrushchev. Now, many of you younger people may not know who this guy was, but he was ahead of the Soviet Union. Strong communist went toe to toe with John F. Robert F. Kennedy Jr. when Robert F. Kennedy Jr. was first president. As a matter of fact, many people say they...
He got Robert F. Kennedy Jr.. He made Robert F. Kennedy Jr. nervous. Later on, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. came back and showed who America is, but he made this comment 60 years ago about socialism and communism. And here's what he said. He said, this is what he's telling Americans, your children's children will live under communism. You Americans are so gullible. No, you won't accept communism outright, but we will keep feeding you. Small doses of socialism until you will finally wake up and find you already have communism. Yep. And does it feel like that's taking place in America today? It does. And I'll tell you, we have a listener that O'Pine has a spouse that was in a communist regime, grew up in your communist regime in Ukraine and controlled by the communists, by Vladimir Putin. The observation made was that the communists never actually call their form of government communism. They say it's socialism. And the big key is, well, do you have elections? The answer is, yeah, there's one candidate. Okay, that's one version of an election. The other version of election is the opponent has a single digit polling popularity. If they get into the double digits or even look like a credible candidate, Vladimir Putin would have them either kicked off the ballot, arrested. Or killed. Or killed. So now, now look at Maine right now and tell me what's going on right now. They have a candidate. They don't think he's going to win. Never actually, I don't think they ever thought he was going to win. But he was very vulnerable to being what, kicked off the ballot. So they let him win. They all said he was great. He was fine. Everything they know now, at least 97% they already knew about this guy with his Nazi tattoo and his abuse of women, to put it mildly. And then right before the deadline. Right before the election deadline before they can replace someone. Everybody launches on them. Politico, New York Times, CNN, everyone pounces, okay? They expect him to drop off so they can do what? Just like Vladimir Putin, they're going to put their person in. Their candidate that the machine wants. That is akin to what our listener described Vladimir Putin's tactics to be in their so-called elections. Well, this is a so-called election. This is an appointment, and that's what they're trying to do. I would just, it would just, I would be so tickled if Graham Platner just said no to it all and made them deal with him. He won the primary. He won it. He has a right to say you selected me. And I'm going to tell you. Come everything that I've allegedly have done, guess what? I'm your canon. And I'm not going anywhere. If he does that, Ro Khanna will be back in his side. Bernie Sanders will be back in his side. Jake Capra will never ask a hard question about the raped women ever again. You watch. All right, hour number two, Rod and Greg Wingman Wednesday coming up. Hey, it's Bubba Wallace from 2311 racing. You know what feels like forever? Sitting on a plane waiting for takeoff. But Dieter Henderson in handcuffs and march her out of the state capital because she won't comply with a request from the Department of Justice. Do you think that could happen? No. I don't. I don't think it gets to that point. It doesn't get to that point? You don't think? Okay. But, you know, I do think that if you have federal elections, and that's Congress, Senate, and President of the United States, and the federal government wants to know that... Every state's playing by the same rules when it comes to voters and eligibility to vote because it does have a federal impact on who represents all the states in Congress and Senate and as president. I think they have a right to know that they have a right to scrutinize those voter rules. And if you don't want to give it to them, I do think there should be consequences. And we should be concerned by that because I don't think we want California. I don't think Utah wants to be in the same category as California, which we are. California doesn't want to show their voter rolls either. And I think that... we should be very transparent and i don't there's just been this new emerging like privacy as if someone's getting uh is committing identity theft if they know that you're a registered voter where you live this information was always isn't it always available it always was i ran my you know i ran for the state legislature in 2002 i had a list of registered voter when i walked a street i didn't just go randomly to doors you went to homes that were registered republicans in addition because there's so many homes and your time is is limited I needed to know which ones actually showed up to vote. Yeah. So you could be registered to vote. But if you hadn't showed up for five years, I was knocking on the door to people that had a habit of voting on a regular basis because it was the highest and best use of my time, walking neighborhoods. This wasn't some, this wasn't, I wasn't committing identity theft by knowing this. This is, this was public information and had always been accepted as much. Okay. So I think that the Justice Department wanting to be sure that the voters. who are voting in elections for federal races are actually legally eligible to vote, is not a, is not a, is, it should be answered and should be satisfied. Now, I heard Henderson, the lieutenant governor, said she cannot comply with this order because it goes against state law. Are you aware of any state law that prevents the sharing of this information with the DOJ? I'm not. There was a law created that allowed people to hide their party affiliation. And I think it was geared towards like ecclesiastical leaders or things like that where they didn't want their party affiliation to be known, but they would like to participate in a primary. I think that you ought to, I think it all should, I think yours should be just.
daylight. I don't think you should have a list that's not known because once you get into that game, when you count votes and then you count registered voters who voted and the numbers don't match. invite it invites fraud or just at least confusion because you don't you'll never see the ones that were entitled to vote that you're not allowed to see versus someone who just stuffed the ballot box and you don't know that if they're real or not i i just think we should have very transparent um voter rolls and if you are an ecclesiastical leader who does not want to affiliate with a party because of your other responsibilities then do what i've seen others do and don't don't Affiliate with a party. Okay. So who is Deidre Henderson protecting? You know, it's a, I mean, because she, remember she released a report, what, within the last month, maybe two months, that they did a deep survey on all of this and found very few infractions here in the state of Utah. Yeah. Very, very few. Yep. If we're that clean, why oppose it? Right. I don't get that. Let them have a look at it. I think any, I don't think there's any, I don't think there's any such thing as a very low level of voter fraud or if anyone is voting who wasn't entitled to vote. They have canceled a legally, someone legally eligible to vote. They canceled that person's vote out. So I think that the, the acceptance rate of. fraudulent ballots should be zero. Not that we'll ever be perfect, but that should be the standard we're all aspiring. That we're shooting for, yeah. So, look, they show the audit. They show that the people that should not have been able to vote actually did get registered and did vote in some cases, even if it's a small number. If you're leading with, look how small it is, it doesn't really matter. Then to your point, answer the DOJ's request for the ballot information. And I will promise you that between the House and Senate, if you're hanging your hat on, there's not a law that lets you, let them go into special session and let you. I don't think the legislature would prevent the DOJ from being able to scrutinize our voter rolls. Well, even if it is a small number of voters, Greg. Yes. I mean, we've had stories during the primaries during this election season so far. where races have been decided by one or two votes. Every vote is important. Absolutely is. And you're right. We should set a standard that no. non-citizen is voting in federal elections that should be the standard not just well we took a look at it and there aren't that many so because it it confuses me that hurt out the gate when people were asking questions and saying it could it be the case that people that aren't eligible to vote are voting lieutenant governor's immediate answer without any kind of self-reflection or or even scrutiny or self was these this system is without fault
There's no problem here. If you feel that way, you just don't like who won, and you're just, you're just sour grapes. There is no problems out there. So an audit's been done. It shows that on the whole, it's largely working, but there are cases, the least that were found. And by the way, the auditors don't look at everything. They're doing samples. They're doing statistical samples of everything. So they're finding a few, but this is, and you couldn't possibly count every single ballot that's ever been, you know. they couldn't or didn't, every ballot that was cast in the state. But they do large samples. They do statistically relevant or significant sampling to see if there's fraud. When you find it, and they did, okay, in a small amount, that already contradicts what the lieutenant governor said from the beginning and that is there is no fraud at all. And I was so curious when she said that because I would never, I've never had. the confidence in government to say there are no, there's no fraud, there's no mistakes, there's no, something being done is being done perfectly right. Government by, you know, by its nature is flawed. It's, you know, it's the worst thing going except for everything else, but it's always open to improvement. It is always open to better scrutiny, better checks and balances. Who on earth would ever just try to say to the public, we're fine here? I mean, it feels like a CNN newscast where the fires burning behind and they're like, this is a mostly peaceful protest while the building behind us burning to the ground. Yeah, I would never defend government, even when I was an elected official and did my level best, you know, representing the people in government to say that government was perfect and without error or fraud. It's a silly notion. Yeah. Well, and I was one, you know. I was just thinking, Greg, well, what if a Democratic administration asked for this, would she have cooperated? But the Democrats would never ask for anything like this because they don't care. There can be a million non-citizens on the Utah voter rolls for federal elections. Democrats wouldn't care. Oh, okay, let them vote. Yeah, yeah. They're here. They can vote. They don't need to be registered. Well, I think I think, I think Dieter Henderson just has a bone to pick with Donald Trump, and she's going to, she's going to face them down every chance she gets. Well, she has, she has either perpetuated on purpose or mistakenly fallen into the trap of these. obvious, like when Trump would put out an executive order, there were bureaucrats in the federal government that would exaggerate what he put out in that executive order to try and make him look bad. So he put some executive order out about the Arlington Cemetery. And they went and removed people's names or they were going to do something that would be naturally offensive to everyone because the people running it wanted to take his whatever his executive order said to its most logical extreme. She picked up on that right away, went online and said, look what Trump's doing. And this is that, and so she either fell for it or she wanted to perpetuate this logical extreme that made him look bad, which was not what he was. And so he looked into it. He went and they got Arlington, they got the cemetery right. They knew what he meant when he said it. They pulled back from what the obnoxious interpretation that they were trying to implement or saying that they would implement. And so she's just had this.
anti-Trump approach from for a while now. Yeah, but she's not alone in it either. I mean, the governor is not now. The governor is backed off on this. No, he's made nice. He gets nice and he has been quick. When he was first in office, man, he was quick to point out everything bad that Donald Trump did. Well, in 16, when he's lieutenant governor, he was. He was all over the place. Now, he's back down. But obviously, she still has a bone to pick with Donald Trump and anything that calls her office into question. She is highly offended. She unnecessarily takes, she's overly defensive. Again, it is not an indictment on your character. It doesn't mean you're a bad person. If the agency or the department you oversee or the elections that you oversee as the elections chief as lieutenant governor, if there are problems, you should be the first one saying, I want to get to the bottom of it. And I'm in a position where I can. And I want to know. You had a congressional race. between Congresswoman Celeste Maloy and Challenger Colby Jenkins, 107,800 votes, decided by 187 votes with ballots that people had filled out, that they filled it out, mailed it, but had been stamped so many times, sent to Nevada, sent back, nobody could read it. Those ballots were thrown away. We can't be okay with that. Okay, we just can't. And as she's the election chief, it doesn't reflect poorly on her for her to say that's not a process that we should be comfortable with. We should, if people vote, we should count it, or everything should be in by a date where you have it in hand and you know you have it in hand. Either way, she gets way defensive. I'm with you. We should never, well, nothing's ever going to be perfect, okay? No. Well, we should do our darn best. to get it as close to it as we possibly can. That's how you, that's how you, that's the attitude. That is smart government, not smaller government, smart government. You just accept, you know, zero tolerance for errors and knowing that they're going to come. But if you have a zero tolerance for it, your chances of having an error-free process are greater than if you're like, wow, so many people got their votes canceled out by, you know, illegal votes. Who cares? Yeah. That's not the right. Should Utah cooperate with the DOJ? Your calls and comments. 888-570801010. 888-570-1010 on your cell phone. Dial pound 250 or leave us a message on our talkback line by downloading the I-Heart Radio app. More of the Rodney Greg show coming up. And I think that's how she described it. From the Department of Justice, they want information about voters when it on federal elections. Not state elections, Greg. Federal elections. Yes. But she says that's invasion of privacy. Our state law does not allow us to do that. And she's not the only one. There are about 10 other election officials in other states who are blocking at this request from the DOJ. I don't know how many red states are bulking. I think most of these states are blue states. California's in there. Yeah, I know California. I'm sure Illinois is part of it too. But oddly, we're not looking to again. You're never going to convince me that transparency is a bad thing. Yeah, that's true. And I'm telling you, and this expectation of privacy on your voter registration, it just didn't exist. Yeah. Let's go to the phone, see what our listeners have to say tonight. Should Dieter Henderson cooperate with DOJ on this voter information spat? We go to Scott and Harriman, see what he has to say tonight. Scott, how are you? Thanks so much for joining us.

Again, that's 844-844-I-Hart. Yeah, no, I agree with you, Scott. Federal elections absolutely have a federal nexus. It impacts every other state in this country if you don't know how they're counting their votes that really do go to, you know, the number of congressional seats that each state has, how many who votes and how they win, it absolutely matters nationally. Scott, why do you think she's fighting this? Any thoughts? The point of it, I like Greg's statement of transparency. If you really have nothing to hide, open the books. This is like your accountant who's running your management and your... retirement accounts saying, trust me, it's good. When you're asking to say, what number do I have? How much did I put in? What did the company put in? These are all the things that I promised to what had happened. Why aren't you showing me my own book? Yeah. This is my election, not yours. I'm not asking for the state election. I'm asking for the integrity of a federal election, which is my election. Yep. It is, it is, it is, thank you, Scott, for your comment. It is our election. I mean, we have a right to know who's voting, and especially if non-citizens are voting. We just can't allow that to happen, and it's been running rampant in this country for too long. Donald Trump has seen this. It's trying to put a, trying to put a stop to it. Well, and if you look at, the reason why California and a lot of these blue states are so against, whether it's the Save America Act or any kind of scrutiny of their voter rolls, is that they allow ballot. I know California does, they allow ballot harvesting, which means anyone, not your relative, not your same household, but anyone can go and scoop up as many ballots as they possibly can to bring them all, get people to vote on these mail-in ballots, and then, or, you know, yeah, the mail-in ballots, and then bring them all in at once and just, and shove them all in the ballot box. In that process, there is no ID attached to the person voting when you have ballot harvesting.
And so if you have a state that allows ballot harvesting that way, then the Save America Act doesn't work because you have to have an ID, a legal ID with your boat. Yeah. With your ballot. And you're just. I. I. If she's got a bone to pick with Donald Trump, this is not the bone to pick. I mean, this is a pretty easy one, in my opinion. I don't know. Again, it polls well, but Save America Act polls. And I tether these together in terms of the DOJ trying to understand who's on the voting rolls. And the Save America Act, I think both are endeavoring to say, do we have legal citizens who have the right to vote actually voting in these elections? Or are they being? watered down, are they being compromised by people who have no legal right to vote, actually getting to vote? More of our listeners want to weigh in on this. We'll take a news break and come back with your comments here on the Rod and Greg Show, Wingman Wednesday and Utah's Talk Radio 105-9, KNRS. If, in fact, any election officer, including the chief election officers here in the state, that happens to be, Lieutenant Governor Henderson, knowingly retains non-uncitizen voter roll list. She's asking, the DOJ is asking her to give us access to those lists when it comes to federal election law. She says no, and she says the state is preventing her from doing so. Don't know if that's true or not, but that's what she says. Well, we do have a list that's off the books in terms of people's privacy. That was created, I think it was great after I was gone. I can't, you know, I wouldn't have done this. I refuse to believe I was, my fingerprints around that bill. But. that law but anyway we had it and i understand why and i also know one of the people that and he's actually a staunch conservative and he's very well he's a strong strong voice against illegal immigration uh he was a big uh proponent of our election our voter roles not including critical information like your date of birth uh so certainly your social security number so that identity theft wouldn't occur in that way But you have got to have a transparent election and you've got to know names, addresses. You've got to know who's voting. You have to. Aren't we already providing some federal agencies with this information already? Yeah, we have, yes. Somewhere along the line, we do. You see how much federal funds we get with Medicaid, Medicare. There's a ton of compliance that goes along with all of that. All right, we want your comments, 888-5708-0 or leave us a message on our talkback line. Yes, let's go to our listeners. Let's go to Joel in Lehigh, who's been patiently waiting. Joel, welcome to the Rod and Greg show. Thank you. How are you guys doing today? We're doing well. Thank you, Joel. So my comment is, I was just kind of wondering where my privacy was when the better boundaries thing had people come to my door and want me to change my vote. And then I think Henderson has a lot to answer for. You got the Phil Lyman thing. You got the petition to keep the flag the way it was. I just don't think, I think she's hiding something.
My own opinion. And then I just have a comment about the Democrats. I think the Democrats brought this socialism crap on themselves. because it wasn't Bernie Sanders, the communist himself, that got screwed twice out of being president. That's true. He sure did. That's my comment. Yeah, he sure did, Joel. Thank you very much. And you're absolutely right. As a matter of fact, as far as the Democrats are concerned today, there's a editorial in the New York Post today, says the Democrats have got to do more than be Trump haters. Yeah. Have they offered anything to the American people other than that they hate Donald Trump? Nope. Nope. They have not. Let's go back to the phones. Yes, let's go to Howard and Provo. Howard, thank you for holding, and welcome to the Rodding Greg Show. Well, thanks again. Wingman, I wish I was addressing you as governor. Oh, thank you. Thank you, Howard. You're welcome, sir. My comment is this. I think Henrickson has a track record of dishonesty, going back to when she was campaign manager for Jason Chafetz, who waited to get reelected and resigned to tee her up to run in his place, and, you know, who was fired by Newskin, fired by Huntsman for nefarious reasons. I think her own signature gathering campaign with Governor Cox fell short. I think she's just got a lot of questionable acts and dishonesty going back when she was affiliated with Chafetz and the congressman, the office. I think she's deflecting. and not cooperating to deflect away, as a previous caller said, away from herself for having her hand in the cookie jar or the fox being the fox in the henhouse, counting the votes, counting her own signatures, even when she didn't have enough to put her in Cox back in the governor's office. I just think there's a lot of questions all over the board.
surrounding her yeah i you know what howard i don't disagree with you on a number of notes there people do have a lot of questions about that yeah she's never been asked to respond to him no and here's the thing again i just think that if you're on the wrong if you're on the side of i don't want to be transparent with these i i just think that that's the i don't think it's a defensible position to be on to take is that i i'm not going to disclose this i don't know maybe she disagrees that federal elections have no federal nexus is that is that the position because i think that the federal elections do yeah because they impact every state all 50 states are impacted by uh who gets elected to federal delegations or who becomes president of the united states to say otherwise i i'll have that debate let's let's talk that if that's the position I don't know that it would be easy to defend. I think it's pretty intuitive why those federal elections need to be consistently applied across every state. Amen. We get your calls and your comments on our line, but also on our talkback line. Let's go to our talkback feature on iHeart Radio up and see what our listeners have to say. Dan from Salt Lake, I would love nothing more than this love letter to have teeth in it. Isn't this the same Deidre Hendrickson that refused to let anybody audit the signatures of the Cox campaign? And yet the governor remains silent on this issue also. I guess a rat will always smell like a rat. I tell you what, there are serious questions about that signature gathering. Well, and then they finally did submit to an audit. And what did you find out? They didn't have enough. But they stopped counting. They thought they hit the threshold. They thought they were going to hit the threshold, so they stopped counting. But some of those that they had counted, it turned out upon further scrutiny, were not eligible. And then, so their number did fall short. But the argument was, well, we had so many more we could have counted that we didn't because we thought we hit the number, so we just stopped. We just stopped. Yeah, that doesn't sound the same as all of our signatures were valid. They were scrutinized, counted, and legally accepted. That's different. Back to the talkback line. Hi, this is Robert and Sandy. I definitely think she should release those voter rolls. If not, she should be arrested. Our information's out there everywhere anyway. Yeah. All right. Thank you. Thank you for your comment. I agree. That information is already out there, Craig. I imagine it's already out there. I mean, what state law is preventing her from releasing this information? That's what she claims. Yeah. I don't think if you held, if you asked the legislature right now, House and Senate, if that's what's holding you up, would you go on a special session right now and fix it? They would fix it right now. Yeah, they would. All right, we've got more to come here on the Rodin' Greg Show and Utah's Talk Radio, 105-9 can't arrest. The experts on this whole oil, gasoline price thing kept on telling us, prices are going to remain high, they're never going to come down. But the market says otherwise. We as consumers said...

Unbelievable. Yeah. Unbelievable. Well, we knew this was going to happen. And there's nothing that can be done to stop it. No, the Congress would have to act. Problem is. Uh, good luck with the 60 votes in the Senate to get anything done. Yeah, you can't get anything done there anymore. All right. If you're just joining us now, we're getting your reaction to this love letter that the Department of Justice sent our lieutenant governor asking her or basically telling her, hey, if you don't provide us the voter information role information that we're looking for, you may face some sort of criminal penalty. She says she's not going to do it. It violates state law. Yeah, well, I'm... I'm not buying it. I'm not picking up what she's putting down. I think whatever law she thinks is making it hard for her to respond to the Department of Justice, I think that you can solve these problems. You can make that legal. You can make it work. I don't think we have a legislature that's opposed to this administration or it's Department of Justice. All right. Let's go to the Talkback line. Get another comment from one of our great listeners tonight about this. Hey, fellas, here's a little more food for thought on the mail-in ballot system that we have right now. If you happen to register when you get your license or whatever, your driver's license, the state has that address on file. If you move to another residence, another address, they'll continue to send the mail-in ballot to the address they have on file.
now that everybody lines up at the gate to hurry and change their address have a good day that's a good point yeah happened to my son oh you're our youngest son and his wife and his young family lived with her with us for a little while voted i think i can't remember what year would have been right well they moved out we kept on getting the mail-in ballot wow at our home yep not at his home Because he didn't change it. We could have, we could have voted fraudulently. We didn't. Well, and here's the thing. I wonder how often that happens. If you throw that signature in, depending on the software and how highly scrutinized, scrutinizes the signature or how low, which it does have a dial and it could be one or the other. Some people have gotten away with that. Well, some people have had, they themselves are signing it, and it's still kicking it back is not real. Yeah, you can sign for one of your kids if you got their ballot. It might go through. It might not. The problem is the only things that should be going through are the people that vote and have an ID when they do it. That's it. This whole signature software is just a, it's too open to inaccuracy by itself. It's not a safeguard that people think it is. Because you can dial, you can't just set it up on the machine to be either really sensitive or not sensitive at all. Correct. You can. And the audit proved that there was an audit on this, the legislative audit, and it showed that there's a, there's a, you can make it highly sensitive. And if there's any kind of variation, you're going to kick out and validate the ballot and they'll have, that's a ballot that has to be cured, or you can accept it. You get to a, so we use a signature verification like it's just this one standard. It applies to everyone and it applies to every state. In the state of California, the law is that it is assumed to be legal unless you have evidence that it's not. Well, Unless you see a dash or an X, you have to see evidence that you think that's a fake signature. Well, in its scrutiny, what would you base that on? That standard of a signature verification is rife with the potential for fraud because you assume it is legally... done unless you have proof that it's not and they're not out there looking for six different versions of a signature in California to decide if that's real. So the term signature verification means completely different things to different states as well as different counties in our own county. How long do they hold on to the signature? I think they have a, I think they have those ballots are held on for, I want to say it's a year. There's some period of time where you hold on to the balance. Let's say someone has a signature. They get a little older. Signature gets a little shakier than it was five years ago. Let's say, are they going to let that happen? No, that is one of the arguments that if someone gets older and it starts to get shaky, they get their ballots thrown out. My own kid. They get called. Your son experiences. And they give you time. They call it curing the ballot. You get an email or you get whatever's on your voter registration that will try to contact you to let you know that your ballot was received. Yeah. But if you did vote and this was your ballot, it got thrown out because they didn't think the signature matched. And you can then cure the ballot. What adds insult to injury is in some places like Iron County, they got the notice too late. The deadline to do it had passed by the time the ballot went to Nevada and back to them. Oops. All right. More coming up. Rod and Greg with you on this Wingman Wednesday.
Talk Radio 105-9 K&RS. I'm Rod Arquette. I'm Citizen Hughes. All right, let's talk about oil prices. You and I have been wondering how quickly they were going to come down after the, what they call the memorandum of understanding, MOU. MOU was signed, and we were guessing, okay, big oil, when are you going to bring the prices down? Were they going to come down as fast as they went up? And Trump, you know, President Trump, he said, hey, better be seeing it. Even Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said, hope we see it. Yeah. We don't want any price gouging right now. No shenanigans going on. And what happened? They were pretty slow in coming down. Actually, I think they came down faster than to say the Atlantic. The Atlantic magazine was saying it was going to take like months, way longer. I mean, there were people saying it might be a year. From now, when you see them actually come down, there were some, there were some different, you know, predictions that didn't fall as quick as, is 62 bucks a barrel where we were at. I thought it was at least the commodity price. Now, I haven't seen it the pump come down as fast, but I certainly have seen the commodity price drop. Well, the question is, you know, the experts were predicting this, but the market was actually delivering this. Who do you depend on more? Joining us on our any hour newsmaker line right now is J.T. Young. He is an author, contributor at Real Clear Markets. J.T., thanks for joining us tonight. Give us your take on what you've seen because they've said they come down quickly. They aren't coming down as fast. What's the difference between the experts and the markets? I really appreciate the chance to be on with both you all again. Always enjoy it. What I was really wanting to say in the article that was in real clear markets today is to just say the big advantage that markets have over so-called experts. Markets have, for one thing, they have skin in the game, you know, and that makes a big difference as everyone knows who's ever... had to make a decision and then pay for their either being correct or wrong. So they have a big incentive to be right and they have a big disincentive to be wrong. And so-called experts don't have either of those things. In fact, you can be an expert indefinitely and continue to be wrong. Al Gore being a case in point, but the fact that. that experts, they have an incentive to be on the air. And so the hot cake, the controversial statement, all of those are rewarded by more airtime. But it doesn't make you right. It just continues to make you an expert and get you on TV. You know, I think both of y'all, you know, if the pipes burst in your house too. You want a plumber. You want a pragmatist. You don't want a water theorist, you know. And that's what are in the markets. These are people who are in their day in and day out crisis, no crisis. They know what they're doing. And they're also countless numbers off the mouth there. So markets capture all that.
compared to experts, which are basically exclusive. You know, you don't get in the expert club unless there's only a few of you. But multiplicity wins. The more chances that you have to have decisions, the better the decision you're going to get. And that's what markets produce. And then, you know, I think as well, markets don't care about politics. I think we all know that there are people who were enjoying writing the headlines about soaring oil prices because it was going to be seen as negative for Donald Trump. And, you know, markets don't care about that. Markets just want to get it right. And then I think the last thing is market self-correct. When they're wrong, they admit they're wrong. They change their prices. Look, you read my mind. I loved your plumber analogy. I was going to use the structural engineer. But I'll tell you what, a structural engineer, there is a refiners fire, is there or not? If the building collapses, you don't get to be a structural engineer anymore. You have absolutely, you have abjectly failed at your job. It almost, these experts remind me of university professors. They can keep telling you how great communism is, you know, even though that there's not a single example where it's actually worked. Is there going to be a time? With articles like yours that are kind of pulling back the curtain saying, look at these clowns, they're experts at what? They're wrong. Can you be wrong so many times that you're no longer an expert? Do we have a number? Is there a place where you've just got out of the expert club? Right. You mean, sort of like we... Shame for experts. Sadly, sadly, we don't. I mean, that's the thing. But I think, you know, y'all and certainly your educated viewers, I think more and more people, and we see this happening over and over, the stranglehold of America's elite is broken. You know, establishment media does not get the same viewership it did when we were growing up. Nope. Newspapers the same way. People are getting their information from all these different conduits, which is great. And it is undermining that monopoly power that the establishment media once had. J.T., let's talk about this debate over oil prices, gasoline prices, when prices are going to come down, how long they're going to take to come down. How off have the experts been in this debate over oil and gasoline prices, in your opinion, J.T. I think very clearly they've been off by a factor of months and weeks because we were all reading the headlines that. Prices aren't going to come down anytime soon, even when there's an end to the war.

Again, that's 844-844-I-Hart. And what we saw was as soon as the memorandum of understanding came out, prices plummeted. And then to take it another step further, you know, President Trump. This morning, last night whenever, was saying the ceasefire is over. And I've been watching oil prices today. They're back up to a little over $70 a barrel. They're nowhere near 100. The fact is the markets are already taking into account that we have a growing amount of supplies from alternative sources. They don't necessarily believe that the ceasefire... is going to be over. What's happening, I think, in Iran is something that everybody expected. We knew the Iranians were going to cheat. They're looking to leverage a better deal. But the problem they have is they have diminishing leverage. There are workarounds that people are continuing to build out around the Strait of Hormuz. There are new supply areas that are coming in. are online and are going to continue to, because the Iranians have played that Trump card that they had, and they did have it, but it's a diminishing one. You cannot keep playing it and threatening it before the markets figure up, well, we're going to find a more secure, a more viable way so that we can avoid your threat. And I think we're seeing that. So without, you're not an expert, I'm not an expert, which means we have a better chance of actually predicting what's going to happen next as we watch markets. I love your point that you're seeing the WTI West Texas Index and of crude oil. It's gone up to, as you say, a little over 70 bucks. It's certainly not over $100 a barrel, as you saw it swing wildly earlier. So there's, they are learning. The markets are learning in real time.
Do you see a resolution to what's going on in Iran that will ultimately bring the price of a barrel of crude oil down lower? Or do you think the markets think that this is in hand, however it may play out, it's just not as catastrophic as they thought at the beginning? I think you're, I think the latter point that it is not as catastrophic as they thought it was going to be, uh, is for sure. And I think that what they also know is that the longer this goes on, the longer we have this threat to the straight of hormones, the more incentive for more supplies to be coming online, you know, whether it's. Venezuela, which is, you know, coming back online and it was a major producer, Guyana, Brazil, other areas. Obviously, I think it was clear that some oil was getting through the straight-up hormones already. And then the pipeline buildarounds that they are building in that area of the world. Obviously, if... We ever get a resolution to the war in Ukraine. You know, Russia has great oil reserves. I think people are seeing that there are alternatives here and that over time, these alternatives will exert a positive influence on the market. And I think another thing for us to remember is... Iran is losing in this respect that, you know, no one wanted to strike, and they easily could have struck. J.T. Young, joining us on our Any Hour Newsmaker line. J.T., thank you very much. Again, the name of the book, Unprecedented Assault, How Big Government Unleashed America's Socialists Left. from Real Clear Publishing. Check it out today. Hey, real quick, I know we're going to a break, but I just got an alert from the Washington Post. Graham Platner ends U.S. Senate campaign in Maine. So that just hit a minute ago. Okay. So there's that. So now, I guess he got what he wanted. Who did they? I wonder, I wonder who they chose. No, no. I bet you they haven't gone through that yet. This lecture process remains unclear, it says. Yeah, right. All right, more coming up. Breaking news on that. More coming up on the Rod and Greg Show and Utah's Talk Radio 1059, KNRS. Breaking news that we broke just a second ago before the commercial break. Graham Platner is out. as the Democratic candidate for Senator from Maine. I was the first to announce it. Yes, you were. I beat everyone. Well, that's because you got on your screen before I had a chance. Yeah, but no, but nobody else had it. Only Washington Post had it for like about three minutes. Yeah, political picked up on it. Who is it now? New York Times picking up on it. Daily Color picking up on it, but he's out.
Wouldn't you love to have been in those conversations between Graham Platner and the machinery there, the Democratic machine in Maine? It's a lucrative no-show job is what we're talking about. And he's received it. He's just got, he's got his, he's bargained price. He's got it and he's dropping out. Again, I honestly believe I'm not a conspiracy theorist, but I do think things happen and there's people that, you know, pull levers. But I think that Graham Platner winning that Democrat primary, I think it was that with all that we knew about him back then. They knew that this guy was going to be a difficult candidate to beat Susan Collins in the November race. And I don't think they had anyone that they thought could beat Graham Platner in the primary. So I think this had always been the plan to just ambush him with an avalanche of allegations, actually start clutching pearls and making a bigger deal out of what they already knew right around this time, this window of opportunity. Because they have until July 27th to have some sort of process. It's unclear to proffer a new candidate. for that main seat, you know, carrying the Democrat Party's banner. I think they were always going to do this to him. They had to do it at a time where there would be very little time for the process to replace him. They needed to get them out. All these issues that came up, they knew that this wouldn't ultimately carry the day. They let the primary happen. They let the people's voice be heard. And then they fully expected to take him out and replace him with someone who hasn't been voted on at all. a la Kamala Harris same thing they did to Bernie Sanders with with Biden back in 20 yeah I wonder if um you know the the what they call it opposition research okay some someone who was working out there on that right and they thought well this first interview we'll get them so they go to the New York Times New York Times says no because she's a Republican operative so she'll have no credibility on this story apparently apparently Democratic candidates can sexually assault Republican women, and if they want to share their story, no one's going to pay attention to it. But if a liberal woman steps up, who agreed with the candidate, all of a sudden, that's a different story. So I wonder if the opposition... opposition in all of this, Greg said, uh-uh, well, that first one didn't work. We'll get another one and we'll make sure she's a liberal this time. Yeah, but you know, it's not even that they didn't trust the source. That source said she provided for the New York Times five witnesses of different things. They all couldn't verify the rape, but what they could do is corroborate the timeline in which they dated, how he would stalk their home and how she had to get out of her lease to move because of it. She had witnesses. There were roommates that could corroborate that. And then other witnesses that could corroborate her story. She had a diary that was saying in real time what was happening. And so they didn't pursue it. I mean, what she said as a victim was that they had, she, they didn't, they said they didn't need it. They had enough. Well, enough meant what they ultimately said is they couldn't corroborate her story. Yeah, that's true. That's true. All right. So Graham Platner is out. We'll see what the Democratic Party has to do in Maine here coming up.
On the Rod and Greg show in Utah's Talk Radio 105-9, KNRS. Like the Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate in Maine under scrutiny in the last couple of weeks for accusations that he raped two women. Text message as well. A lot of pressure on him to get out of the race. And by gully, Greg, guess what just happened? He just announced he's getting out. He's not. He is getting out. He's grumbling about it. But he's out. And. And he came out with a pretty long statement. Yeah. Yeah. Let's listen to a little bit of this off his ex page. This Graham Platner announcing that he's withdrawing from the race. Hey, everyone. It's Graham Platner here. I think as many of you know over the past couple days, I have faced some very serious allegations. And I just want to make it clear. This is all false. The things that have been claimed did not happen. It's not real. It is placed an immense amount of weight on me as I think about what needs to happen now. Amy and I are regular people. We were not looking for this experience. We were not looking to get into politics. We had no desire to run for office. I just want you to think about like what you would do as a regular person in a position where a much larger world, large forces were working against you personally to accuse you of the worst thing that a person could do and it was not remotely true.
I learned about this through press inquiries with no time to truly respond, no time for investigations before a corporate media system and the political establishment got to act as judge, jury, and executioner. Accusations are supposed to be the beginning of things, not the end. I think it's really important to understand why this is happening in the timeline, why this is happening right now, much like October when the first attack started, much like the news that was created the week before the primary, there is a reason that this is happening now. I only have until July 13th until I am officially the nominee. This was the last week to try to get me off of the ballot. And that's why this is occurring. It's not the false allegations, though, that have brought us to where we are. It's the fact that they are being used. by the political establishment to put structural pressure on us. We live in a political system that is not built for normal people. It is a system that is built structurally to make sure that movements like ours cannot flourish. That if they begin to succeed, they can be crushed.
What we have accomplished here, you made possible, the people of Maine, the volunteers, the voters, the grassroots donors, and I have all the faith in the world that we could win if we could continue to harness that. But the brutal political reality is that they are going to take everything away from us. Those in power who have the ability to do so are using these allegations as an excuse to take away all of the things that we need to run a campaign. We are going to lose our ability to fundraise. We are going to lose our ability to access voter data. We're going to lose all of the things that any campaign needs on the basic level, simply to function. That's the statement from Graham Platner. He is withdrawing from the race to be the Democratic nominee for the U.S. Senate in the state of Maine, challenging Susan Collins. Bubba Wallace here from 2311 racing. Visit iHeartadvertising.com. Again, that's iHeartadvertising.com. It really went after the establishment, Greg. He did it in a statement. He said it's the establishment. A normal person like myself, if you want to characterize him as a normal person, cannot win a major campaign because if you don't have the establishment, the party establishment behind you, forget it. And look, he can grumble all he once. I know that they did more than what he described to get him out of the race. I'm sure he was, he profited to some degree because if he didn't, if you're going to get, if you're going to get, he just described that they were going to withhold. voter lists from him. They all his, all the donors who had committed for his budget said they're pulling their money out. There will be no money. They basically painted a picture where you can be the candidate, but we'd sooner have Susan Collins win and you'll never, you'll, you'll, you'll, you won't be able to afford a race. Yeah.
Okay. Well, if that's the case, if this guy is as tough as he says, and that's all it is, just threats, then go down swinging. Let the party not have a candy. You just got done ripping on them all. The whole structure is built so that people like himself have no chance. Yeah. Well, then don't give him a chance. Yeah. But he got out anyway. So there's more to that story. He's that frustrated because I'm sure they did include all those that he had zero chance because they were going to. just pull stakes and withdraw from him completely. But even if that's the case, he has to get out. He has all the cards. He has, he has the power. He said, okay, all right, I'll just be on the ballot and you don't have to, you don't have to support me. He knows that would still kill them if he did that. So there's more to that story, but I think he's criticizing the fact that they want an appointment and they don't want the person who came through a primary and was voted, you know, to be the nominee. The establishment doesn't want that. And he's right about that. Well, the loudest critic of Graham Platner has been your favorite senator from the state of Pennsylvania, John Fetterman, who's on Fox News right now. We're watching it here on the monitor. But he had a great line. He says, hey, guess what? The trash decided to take itself out. Yeah, because they were trading barbs, those two. They were going after each other. know that the betterman was on the right side of that just giving them grief back so yep i think he's had the last laugh yeah well there'll be a lot of fallout uh from this we'll uh see what happens over the next day or soon of course we'll have more of that throughout the day tomorrow during tomorrow's show to get a reaction to it it's just going to be interesting to see how the democrats recover from this do they and they will recover but i tell you what i think Graham Platner with what he's saying tonight Greg, about the machine, just normal people wanting to run, but the machine won't let us. That is just fodder for the socialists in the Democratic Party. Because that's what they're saying. We're tired of the machine. We have a better way. Socialism. And despite the allegations against him. The Democratic Socialist of America, the DSA, he's going to become a hero. Well, he might. And I'll tell you, you go back to 16 years ago, Bernie Sanders was white-hot with these guys. And this was 10 years ago before those Democrat socialists grew in power and persuasion. And he was beating Hillary Clinton in these votes. The grassroots really liked Bernie Bros. If you remember. He had a big rally here. He did. Thousands and thousands came into the University of Utah. And they bumped them out. You know, and so, yeah, there's a, there is a bit of a machine going on there. I think the Democrat socialist, I think that what the Democrat Party knows is that they don't have a prayer to appeal to everyday normal people. So they're trying to get this radical base and they're trying to appease them at the same time, try to put a viable candidate out there. But again, they don't want to do it through a primary, do they? Yeah. They don't want to do it through the voice of the people. They just want to eliminate you in the timeline that you have.
Pressure you out and then go pick someone that they'd rather have that was never voted on in a primary. What did one of our guests describe the socialist as the other day? Overeducated, underachieved. Yeah, that's actually right. That's right. All right. More coming up. Final segment of the Rod and Greg show right here on Utah's Talk Radio 105.9, KNRS. Late today, of course, now. If you're just joining us, the Democratic candidate for the U.S. Senate in Maine, Graham Platner. has decided to drop out. Yeah. After allegations of rape that two women have come forth. Also, I mean, the Nazi tattoo, you name it, Greg. This guy has been quite the subject to talk about over the last couple of weeks. Well, you know, it became, I mean, the part of this story that is so, I don't know, I think revealing is that we knew who this guy was. I mean, these stories about. Him with a Nazi tattoo, his mistreatment of women, his violence towards women. This was all understood. And they were with a straight face arguing, dismissing it. Well, he was young. He didn't know what the tattoo meant. These were straight-faced arguments. And justifications they were making for this candidate. And then one day, you wake up. and it's a morning and it's a typical and all of a sudden politico is outrage and they've got it they've got someone that's accusing him of what rape well we had heard that but that's not like that's not a big deal yeah that's not breaking news right we just went through a season where you just told us that uncorroborated whatever it is he was young he's learned whatever it might be you guys have been making excuses for him from day one but all of a sudden now it's serious then you see the new york times who had More people, they had a lot of witnesses to corroborate the original accusation, but they never ran with it. They said, Al, we can't corroborate it because you didn't try. There's a journal, one gentleman who's not writer's center, used to work for the Times, called what the Times is doing today, journalistic malfeasance. And that's what it is. That's what it is. So you have all of this, and all of this is designed. And so what you heard, we played for you, Graham Platner's statement that he's put on his X page. And he says that he still denies that the accusations of rape are untrue. He denies that they're untrue. They're false. They're fake. But it's been explained to him that every dime he was going to have by way of campaign resources are gone. Gone. Gone. They are going to withdraw from that race. They're not going to give him voter lists so that he can even find the right people to get out the vote. They are taking all infrastructure for a campaign away from him and that they would rather see Republican Susan Collins win than him win. And that is, you know, that's the fix is in. I mean, that's, well, the question is now, Greg, what do the young, okay, socialists in Maine, who were firmly behind Graham Platner because he was taking on the machine, and that's their number one issue within the Democratic Party is they're tired of the Democratic machine because they claim it's getting them nowhere. Are they going to support the new candidate? Whoever that new candidate may be. Because they have what? Until the 21st. 27th. 27th. To find a new candidate. Will that group of Progressive who voted Graham Platner in just back in June in a primary? Will they now step up and work for this new selected candidate by the party machine? Yes. And it will. Remember David Hogg? He was a kid, the young guy that got elected to be the chair, whatever. They got rid of him.
He didn't play ball with the establishment, so they got rid of him. This guy wasn't worthy of being the nominee. I think he's a degenerate. But that's who they picked. And then the machine comes in and they don't want to go through elections. They don't want people to vote. They just want to appoint. And they did it. They've done it before. They're doing it now. Yeah. Yeah, let's see. They did this with Bernie Sanders. They did with Kamala Harris never won a sing. She was a Democrat nominee. And she never won a delegate. Never ran a successful primary race in her life. Never won anything. And she was the Democrat nominee for president. Yeah. And by the way, one main by 7%. So, you know, so that's why they think they got a shot in that state against Susan Collins. This game is just disgraceful. The patron saint of the Democratic Socialist Party in this country right now is Bernie Sanders. Yes, it is. He's been screwed twice. Yes. And the question is, Bernie, why do you keep on coming back? Yeah, you had Hillary. You had Hillary. You had her. Then they told you to go away. You did. This was your guy. You said you're going to do everything in your power to help him win. And then all of a sudden you wake up the other day and said, well, I think he should withdraw. So you got you got hit by a shovel again, Bernie. But, you know, so, you know, I do. I think it will have a chilling effect on those that were convinced or made to believe that this guy was just fine or that he was the socialist that we all needed, that we've all didn't know we needed. Yeah. They are not going to be happy, especially with the way Graham Platner is framing the way he's dropping out of this race. Yeah. I didn't do anything wrong. I'm just getting absolutely shoved out of this race. Yeah. Well, if he really felt that, he should stay in and really give it to him. But I think that that is going to have a chilling effect on voter, get out the vote efforts with people that were probably enthusiastic to vote for him for that socialist aspect of it. I don't think they're going to, the replacement isn't going to win the hearts and minds of those individuals. How does the Republican candidate, Susan Collins, treat this now? I think she's going to run. She focuses on her campaign. She drives us crazy normally everywhere. She's barely a Republican. So I think she's going to appeal to the, you know, probably the moderate moderates and the slightly left of center more so than that. And she was never going to get the vote of the far, far left socialist. But I don't know that they come out to vote for whoever it is they appoint in his place. Yeah, I'm with you. They're. They may just, we'll have to wait and see, it is such a critical state. This is one of what, I think, four states that the Dems are focusing on, and this was the one they thought they could get. Maybe not now. I think they let him go to the very end, knowing that he had so much they could just do what they've done and replace him. They didn't want to get their favorite candidate through and risk a primary that they would lose. No. They wanted to do this. And they did. They did it. The next time we see a, you know, a Nazi rapist that's a Democrat nominee, just assume they're going to take them out. They'll take them out. Right before the deadline, they're going to go parachute in a different candidate. Sooner or later, they are definitely going to take them out. By the way, tomorrow, of course, we'll have fallout from this reaction to it. We also have a World Cup soccer game coming on tomorrow. Yeah, on our station.
