Two accomplices in the fire that killed five-year-old Malachi Stowball in a Portland Avenue fire a year ago in July were sentenced, but the person guilty of murder was not. Toquita Hendrix's sentencing was delayed when the defense asked for a hearing under a domestic violence justice law. Assistant DA Kevin Sunderland tells 13 Wham he's skeptical that'll do anything but delay. I don't think in any way it's applicable to this case. That had nothing to do with this case.

To quit his sister, Tekela, pleaded guilty to arson and was sentenced up to 12 years in prison. Accomplice Roy Chambers also pleaded guilty to arson. He will serve nine years. The woman convicted of stabbing a man to death over three years ago at Durant Eastman Park expected to be sentenced today. 41-year-old Shannon Reinholz was convicted of stabbing 67-year-old James Wooden to death in the park in July of 2022. He was found with over 40 stab wounds in the lot off Zoo Road and Lakeshore Boulevard, and the crime scene was roughly a mile long. Fong. Co-defendant Christian Kruger pleaded guilty to manslaughter, stabbing him twice, and was sentenced to 10 years in jail already. Reinholz had her sentencing delayed and reviewed under the State Domestic Violence Survivor Justice Act and will be sentenced as a second-time violent felon. Dave Debo, News Radio Wham, 1180. A Rochester man found guilty in a Maplewood neighborhood shooting is also scheduled to be sentenced this morning. 19-year-old Reginald Samson was convicted of attempted murder, robbery, grand, larceny, and gun crimes. Prosecutors say he... He shot an 18-year-old during a marijuana sale at Augustine and Dove Streets back in May. The victim was seriously hurt but did survive. Rochester man recovering from a stabbing on the city's north side last die. Police say someone slashed the 62-year-old in the upper body on St. Paul Street near the old Kodak Hawkeye plant. He was taken to a strong hospital but is not cooperated with police and no one has been arrested. Senator Chuck Schumer's Rochester office was one of several apparently hit by a bomb threat. Several threats were sent to his... Rochester, Binghamton, and Long Island offices in an email with his subject line, Mega, and alleging the 2020 election was rigged. No one. No public servant, no staff firm, no constituent, no citizen should ever be targeted for simply doing their job. His office says law enforcement is making security sweeps. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt did not dispute a second strike on a suspected drug boat on September 2nd, saying the operation complied with the law of armed conflict. Admiral Bradley worked well within his authority and the law directing the engagement to ensure the boat was totally destroyed and the threat to the narco-terrorists to the United States was eliminated. Secretary Pete Hegseth authorized Admiral Frank Bradley, the commander of Joint Special Operations Command to carry out the kinetic strike. Republicans and Democrats in Congress are questioning the follow-up strike after a report in the Washington Post said there were survivors from the initial strike. Governor Kathy Hochul highlighting the success of the statewide school smartphone ban that went into effect at the start of this school year. The governor says a November survey of 350 school disc

showed 83% reporting a more positive classroom environment without the cell phones and better student engagement. Three quarters of those surveyed said the policy aimed at getting rid of distractions has improved their ability to teach effectively. The surviving National Guard member shot in Washington last week is showing signs of improvement as new details surface about his alleged shooter. Attorneys for Luigi Mangione are arguing certain evidence shouldn't be allowed in at trial. The judge heard the 911 call from a McDonald's manager in Altoona, Pennsylvania, who said a man matching the description of the killer was in the restaurant. But the judge also heard from corrections employee Thomas Rivers, who said he supervised Mangione in an area meant for those who need to be watched more closely. He said Mangione wanted to know how his case was being perceived, and River said he told him mainstream media focused on the killing of the CEO, while other types of media focused on the health care industry. A delay yesterday in the sentencing of Tequita Hendricks. One of the people involved in an arson that took the life of five-year-old Malachi Stovall last July on Portland Avenue. Hendricks' murder sentence was delayed because of a law that requires another hearing because she is a domestic violence victim. Two others who pled guilty to the arson were sentenced, and Malachi's grandmother, Karen Mitchell, spoke to the court. What he meant to us and what he had to go through, what we as a whole family. had to go through meant something, but I don't think it did. Comptroller Thomas to Napoli and Monroe County District Attorney Brian Green say 68-year-old Karen Walsh failed to report her mother's death to the state pension system in 2020. She kept receiving and pocketing her mother's benefits in the following years, forging her mother's signatures on the checks. She pleaded guilty in city court and we'll have to pay back the money. And the various groups that wanted are stepping up with pressure on the governor today announcing a push toward a ban. Knifeburg, Environment America, and the Clean Quiet Alliance are expected to unveil county by county numbers on air and climate pollution created by gas-powered lawnmowers, weed whackers, leaf blowers, chainsaws, and other garden equipment.
