Police say someone knifed the 16-year-old girl in the upper body just before dinner time last night had a home on Clifford Avenue near Joseph. She was dropped off at Rochester General and she is expected to live. No arrests have been made. Two brothers accused of trafficking large amounts of cocaine and fentanyl. 41-year-old Anthony Rucci in 30. 38-year-old Joel Rucci are each charged with conspiracy. Federal prosecutors say they found about six kilos of cocaine in Joel's car during a traffic stop last month, and the raid on a Matthew Street home netted other drugs and $25,000 in cash. Both brothers have previous drug convictions. A Colombian man will serve five years in prison for his role in a jewelry theft that targeted malls nationwide, including Greece Ridge Mall. Federal prosecutors say 41-year-old Jorge Escobar Gonzalez was one of

six people to break into a jewelry kiosk at Greece Ridge in September of 2023. In all, the ring netted 4.4 million in thefts from stores in seven states. Escobar Gonzalez pleaded guilty to interstate transportation of stolen property back in April. New details on the arrest of eight now former assistant principal at Geneva High School. Court papers ate 50-year-old James Nunez put the student into a headlock and then kissed the teen boy back on November 18th. Nunez suspended immediately after and arrested earlier this week. He's been charged with child endangerment and harassment. Investigators believe it was an isolated case and no other students were involved. A grand jury in Virginia is declining to indict Attorney General Letitia James after being asked to look into mortgage fraud claims against her for a second time. Initial charges against James were thrown out 10 days ago after a judge ruled that the U.S. attorney who brought the case was serving illegally. James was previously indicted by a grand... end jury on one charge of bank fraud and another of making false statements to a financial institution. She has denied wrongdoing while becoming a frequent political target of President Trump. I'm Larry Kofsky. NBC News Radio. Customers of Rochester Community Power will have their contract switch to RG&E next month. The city is ending its electric supply contract with the aggregator. An announcement on the city's website says the alternative power suppliers that make up the project don't offer competitive pricing anymore, but the city is looking for other suppliers eventually. Another check of traffic and weather together on the tens in just about five minutes. 30-year-old man has been arrested and accused of planting two pipe bombs outside of both the Republican and Democratic National Committee headquarters before the January 6th Capitol Riot almost five years ago. Fox's Kevin Cork has more from Washington. Brian Cole Jr. charged with transportation of an explosive device via interstate commerce and... attempted malicious destruction by means of an explosive device and according to an arrest warrant filed in this case. Now, Cole was arrested at his home in Woodbridge, Virginia, that's about 35 miles from D.C. The FBI affidavit said Cole Jr. purchased components that could have been used to make pipe bombs. Court papers say a cell phone, by the way, tied to Cole. actually pinged near cell towers near the RNC and the DNC the night those bombs were placed. The motive behind the attempted bombings is still unclear. Military commanders spoke in front of congressional leaders about what happened on September 2nd off the coast of Venezuela when multiple military airstrikes hit a vessel carrying drugs. CBS Charlie Daggett reports. Democratic Congressman Jim Himes said that violated the Defense Department's rules of engagement. You have... two individuals in clear distress without any means of locomotion with a destroyed vessel who were killed.

Meantime, operator-waste connection still wants to add 47 acres to the landfill and raise the height of the landfill by some 70 feet. And if they don't get DEC approval by the end of this year, they will have to close. Governor Kathy Hochul has signed legislation to ease the financial burden for New Yorkers diagnosed with lung cancer. The bill requires health insurers in New York State to provide no-cost coverage for follow-up screening and other diagnostic services for lung cancer patients, much as existing law bans co-pays for medication. as insulin and inhalers. To lift this burden of expense for life-saving lung cancer screenings from the patients because, my God, they have enough to worry about. According to reports, though, it is unclear which version of this U.S. plan he was referring to in the interview excerpts. A previous version of the America-backed peace deal was criticized for containing terms seen as favorable to Russia. Secretary of State Marco Rubio says the deal was made with input from both Russia and Ukraine. President Trump says he's setting a war that's been going on for decades. Trump made the comment before overseeing a U.S. brokered peace deal between the Democratic Republic of Congo and Rwanda in Washington, D.C. on Thursday. For more than 30 years, one of the worst conflicts on Earth has been raging in eastern Congo. Millions and millions that people have been tragically killed. Went on forever, and countless more have been displaced from their homes. The leaders of both countries joined Trump to sign the deal. The controversy began after the Washington Post claimed Secretary of War Pete Hegseth ordered a second strike on the boat so that there were no survivors. Police say the 16-year-old girl was attacked just before dinner time last night at a home on Clifford Avenue near Joseph Avenue. She suffered wounds to her upper body. She was dropped off at Rochester General Hospital where she is expected to survive. There are no arrests. Two Rochester brothers facing federal charges for allegedly trafficking cocaine and fentanyl. Prosecutors say 41-year-old Anthony Rucci and 38-year-old Joel Rucci charged with conspiracy. Investigators believe this wasn't isolated incident and no other students were involved. A federal grand jury is declining to indict Attorney General Letitia James on mortgage fraud charges. CBS News correspondent, Scott McFarland, has more details. It was just days ago that a federal judge dismissed a criminal case against New York Attorney General Letitia James, the Department of Justice. Justice had accused her of engaging in fraud to secure a mortgage, an allegation she denied. On Thursday, the Department of Justice tried again to get a grand jury in Norfolk, Virginia, to indict James. But a source familiar tells CBS News, the grand jury said no. James issuing a statement after the decision thanking members of the grand jury. She's also called for an end to the unchecked weaponization of our justice system. The Monroe County Sheriff's Office, formerly opening its regional investigative operation center, also called RIOC. It's described as the first of its kind in western New York, a high-tech real-time crime center that's designed to improve law enforcement coordination in the region, streamline investigations, and improve public safety. The RIOC partners with other law enforcement agencies. agencies and his staff by deputies and analysts who will spot, assess, and respond to threats of mass violence. The staff can see real-time crime data and tie into alarm systems, body cameras, license plate readers, and drones. The state gave the sheriff's office $117 million to equip the center. The district say in a post that the outage is affecting both Fairport and Parentin and all the students who were picked up by a bus this morning while they'll be taken home from school. There's no word yet on when the power will be completely restored to that area. Again, Fairport Central Schools have been canceled due to a power outage. Where at 742, Rochester officials are moving forward with plans to renovate the former... vacuum oil company refinery, the building will be knocked down, clearing the way for a conversion into a playground and green space. Environmental Remediation firm Roe Associates will lead to clean up at the former vacuum oil property along the Genesee River near South Plymouth Avenue. That company has offices in Pittsburgh and Buffalo and has handled similar projects at hundreds of so-called brownfield sites around the state. The work will take up to two years, then the city will transform the site into a more natural public space. RIT has formally opened its new research building. It houses 19 laboratories for research in computing, artificial intelligence, advanced manufacturing, and other areas. The space was needed as RIT has seen an increase in research grants rising to $105 million in the last fiscal year. On Wall Street Thursday, the Dow fell 31 points to 47,850. Two Rochester brothers facing federal charges for allegedly trafficking cocaine and fentanyl. Prosecutors say 41-year-old Anthony Rucci and 38-year-old Joel Rucci, each charge was a conspiracy. Investigator seized about six kilos of cocaine from Joel's car during a traffic stop last month and a raid at home on Matthew Street turned up more drugs and $25,000 in cash. A Colombian man sentenced to nearly five years in prison for his role in a nationwide jewelry theft ring that hit malls across seven states, including Greas Ridge Mall. Federal Prosecutterian State 41-year-old Jorge Husko Par Gonzalez was among six suspects who stole, who broke into a jewelry kiosk at Ridge back in September 2023. That ring stole about $4.4 million worth of merchandise in total. A grand jury declining to indict... Attorney General, the Letitia James, on mortgage fraud claims for a second time.
