All right, thanks for joining us, everybody, on this Halloween night, Halloween day, getting ready for the trick-or-treaters coming out. It was over at Capitol Square the other day. Saw the trick-or-treaters going into the governor's mansion, so let's run out. To talk to our governor, the Commonwealth of Virginia, Glenn Youngkin joins us here on News Radio, WRVA. Happy Halloween, Governor. Yeah, good morning, Rich. Hope it all well, but it's also the last Friday of early voting. Everybody's got to get out and vote today. You know what? I was thinking of this scenario. It's the bottom of the ninth, GOP facing the Democrats. There's two out. We're down by three. Bases loaded. Three-two count. Here comes the pitch. You've been there before you were in the similar situation. Nobody gave you a chance. Donald Trump said, hey, let's have a tele-rally. Do you see any deja vu right now for what's in a moral serious? Yeah, I was excited that President Trump was able to host a tele rally across the state last night and urge all Republican voters to get out and vote for Winsome, vote for John, and vote for Jason. And I'll tell you, he laid out a very compelling argument, which is, first of all, we've accomplished so much in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Great job growth, great economic growth. Public safety has been completely turned around, and now we're... where we were at a 20-year high murder rate. We are now at a 30% reduction in murders. We put parents back in charge of their kids' education. And finally, more than anything else, we have government that actually works for people. And he reminded everybody, it's all going to go away if we don't win these elections. And so he was urging everyone, get out, vote Republican, up and down the ticket. We need to elect our delegates. We need to elect Jason Meares. We need to elect John Reed. And we need to elect wins some Winsome Earle-Sears. How important is leadership? You sit in that governor's mansion. You understand what it's like to face these tough situations, whether it was the plane crash of the Potomac. Nobody expects to have to deal with something like that when they become governor. To right now you had to declare an emergency state of emergency so people won't go hungry with the snap benefits. It takes leadership. I look at a couple of things with Ms. Banberger, and I don't see this leadership. So I want to ask you about this. Jay Jones, she said, well, you know what, it's up to Virginians. I'm not going to weigh in on this. When it comes to the House, to the General Assembly, wanting to gerrymander the state and change the Constitution, she goes, I'm going to leave that up to the General Assembly. Can a government just leave it up to other people, or does a governor need to step up there and show leadership at times and moments where we look to him for some kind of leadership? Well, Rich, of course, you know the answer to that, which is governor is the chief executive of the state, and therefore the governor has to lead. And for Abigail Spanberger to simply say nothing when some Aster in the debate, would it take Jay Jones threatening to kill your children, Abigail, before you would say anything? It was a mic-dropping moment. I mean, let's be real. Here we have Jay Jones. He came out and said that he wanted to put two bullets in the head of Todd Gilbert. He wanted his children to die, and a few cops should die as well. And Jay Jones is not only unqualified, but those comments made him.

Listen, Winsome has got a lot of top priorities that I think will take the great work that we have done and take it even further. And start with education. At the end of the day, Virginia schools are so much better today than when we started. We made the test harder, and the kids' scores went up. We got cell phones out of the classrooms, and we're all of a sudden seeing academic performance, improved, mental health challenges, decline, and disruptions in the classrooms decline. And we have had record education budgets for the last four years. Teachers are now being paid 18% more than when we started. And the reality is that when there's a poll, there was a recent survey done, and Virginia was rated the best state in America to be a teacher. And Winston's going to continue to drive this. Of course, what Abigail Spanberger has as a spouse over and over again is she wants to undo our expectations of excellence. The idea that we're going to hold schools accountable for getting your children educated. She and her running mates have said they want to undo. You start with education, which is the future of our country. But economic development is also critically important. And Abigail Spanberger is going to get rid of right to work. What does that mean? Everyone's going to be forced to join a union. Can you imagine that? You want a job in Virginia? You've got to join a union. You want to move here from another state? You've got to join a union. It's just an it's an abomination on economic development, and she's going to undo all of it. We have had record investment, record, $143 billion committed to the Commonwealth to expand and grow businesses, and more than the last five administrations combined. We've had record job growth. She's going to undo all of that. And finally, when it comes to public safety, you see law enforcement lining up across the board. denouncing Jay Jones and saying if abigail spamburger can't denounce Jay Jones as our attorney general how can we work for her She also has stood against qualified immunity, and we all understand that means that holding law enforcement with civil liability if they lose in a court case, and no law enforcement hero is going to do the job if you take away qualified immunity. Bottom line is everything that we stood for, and that tremendous successes that we have had, ultimately resulting in $10 billion of surpluses in the Commonwealth of Virginia, $9 billion of tax relief. It's all going to stop with Abigail Spanberger, and when some tears is going to continue to hit the accelerator. We have 60 seconds, sir. You're going to leave the governor's mansion sooner rather than later. You're going to go back to being a regular citizen, a member of the citizenry of the Commonwealth of Virginia. If the Democrats have the House, the Senate, and the governor's mansion, what's life going to be like for you as an ordinary Virginia? But what I worry most about is what's going to happen across the board to Virginia who is leading right now. This great Commonwealth is leading. And when we saw the last time that they had the trifective, Virginia all of a sudden went from first to last.

It lasted everything. I mean, a 20 year high in murder rate, bottom third in job growth. We were 46 in the nation getting our schools back open. And our kids suffered the largest learning loss in the nation, the largest in the nation. And we just saw recently that Virginia now has led the math learning loss recovery. This is the Virginia that they built when they had a chance. It was awful. We've turned it around in a most remarkable way in the last four years. And this is what's on the ballot. Do we want to keep going or do we want to go back? And that's why I'm urging all Virginians get out and vote for Winsome Earle-Sears, John Reed, Jason Mierrez, and the Republican delegate. You've watched this sham, sham special session this week, and you've watched them silence, silence. Anyone who stood up and tried to even mention political violence, and in fact, every... senator, every Democrat senator voted against a resolution to condemn political violence. How in the world could they possibly do that? Don Scott actually almost had one of our delegates thrown out of the house because she wanted to represent women who were concerned about political violence. That's what they represent.
