We continue with you on this busy Monday here on News Radio, WRVA. Let's go check in with Brian Kilmeade. Brian, good morning. I was surprised. I thought they had the whole DHS TSA funding thing ready to go. I wasn't really happy with what the Senate had, but I thought it was enough. The House could pass it. Friday, it blows up. What are you hearing? I'm a hearing. It's going to be a debt. It's dead an arrival today when they try to do the CR for 60 days. They're going to drag this thing right up until the 4th of July, it looks like, and blow the World Cup travel. I've never seen more unproductive people, people that have no interest in a resolve. They're just interested in what they think is political gain. And fundamentally, I said it Friday night. The Democrats don't understand that they said we lost the election, so we're not going to contest the election because there was no fraud in it. What we're going to do is ignore it. We're going to pretend like we won. We're going to pretend like we have the power in the House and Senate. We're going to make the longest shutdown ever and say it's for health care, but you know it's not for health care. When's the last time they brought up health care? And now they said for a tip, we're going to rain in ice, they're calling a militia Gestapo. These are American law enforcement agents. If you want some reforms, you talk about that, you could probably get that in there. You've got to have five or six things already.
extend the academy, whatever. But you get a new person heads it up, Tom Homan, got it. Now Markwayne Mullin understood. Now Bovino is now out. I think that's great. And so you have all these changes and they're still holding out because they want to show their base that they are tough. And Chuck Schumer's trying to show that he wants to keep his job. So while they sit there and do their worry about their careers. Americans are massively, massively disrupted. And I've never seen such justified anger among the masses. So what happened between the House and the Senate? Again, like I said, I wasn't crazy about what the Senate, but at least they were trying to compromise enough. There are things that they didn't have that I thought needed to be funny inside DHS. Then it gets over to Mike Johnson. His caucus says no. It also looks like the Republicans are disorganized. They are. Because they said this is the best we can do in the House says we're not going to do it. We're not going to not fund DHS. We're going to fund the whole thing, cybersecurity. It didn't handle the support staff reportedly of ICE. They'll only have the TSA agents, but not the support staff. So there were a bunch of holes in it, and they were going to come back with a reconciliation package and fund it. All right. Jason Smith came out and said, I'm ways and means. I don't see it passing. There's too many Republicans that don't want to pay one extra dollar. So no Democrats are going to help them out. So this thing, there's an excellent chance that would not be funded. So that's what Denver. That's what Republicans saw. And Brian, I'm sorry. Listen, I know you work harder than everybody else I know. Would you go on vacation if your Sunday night show wasn't prepared? How in the world do they have the audacity to go on vacation and leave with the government unfunded with our cybersecurity? We're in a shooting war on Iran and DHS isn't being funny. To me, that's malpractice. I hear you. The Republicans thought they were done. They didn't think that there was a problem in the House. But when you pass them at 2.3 in the morning and the House never said they signed off on it. You shouldn't assume you're done. But they were told they could leave because they thought that, you know, with the Republicans, we'd just sign off on it. And we can get TSA paid. And that's why they left. And let's see what happens today if they're going to come back. I hope they come back. Brian, again, I'm going to use you and I as an example. Someone called me. I thought I had an interview in the can. Somebody called me Rich. It's not ready to go. We don't have 10 minutes of this show that you recorded. I would come back to the studio and fill those 10 minutes in. I know you would do the same. We actually care about what we do. Summer routines live or die by how easy they are. You got to come back. So that's in fairness to what they thought. They just assumed that everything was going to be signed off because the Republicans in the House had no choice. But Johnson said he couldn't get the votes. It's just so, yeah, no, you're right. It's frustrating all the way around. I know you've got to get back on TV. What are you got coming up on the radio show? We got Uchelle, Ben Hall, General Keene, Tristan Harris, and the dangerous social media and AI, Michael Goodwin on the truth, how we're not getting the truth about the war in Arthur Brooks. talks about the meaning of life. He teaches a happiness course at Harvard, bestselling author, and Lawrence Jay Jones. So it's going to be a big show. So hope you can join me. Thanks so much. All right. I'll let you go. See you later, Brian. Brian Kilmeade. Again, he's busy running around this morning trying to get ready for Richmond's Morning News. And I do appreciate when you get a chance to talk to Brian every Monday. He doesn't have to do it. Just a handful of radio stations that he cares enough about to stop what he's doing. run over, jump on the phone with us, and then get back over to TV. So I do appreciate Brian Kilmeade coming on with us. But again, I'm frustrated. To go, feed the workers at TSA. Hopefully they get their paychecks today. Hopefully those people get paid today. And maybe they could try to catch everything back up in their lives. Folks, you know what it's like when you lose a job. And you know what it's like when you can't make ends meet. You know what it's like when you have to look your kids in the eye and go, kids, we got to tighten her belt. You know what it's like when you walk into the bedroom and you find your wife crying because you can't pay the bills. You know what it's like sitting there in your car.
not wanting to walk in the house and face the family because you don't have enough money to pay the bills and feed the family and take care of your responsibilities. You know what that's like when you lose a job. But none of us know what it's like to get up every day, go to work for a month and a half and not get paid. They're having all those things that happen when you lose a job, but they're actually showing up to work at their job. In the audacity of these congressmen and these senators to get up and leave and go off to do whatever they're going to do. And I'm telling you, I was so mad over the weekend. I got a little aggressive on X. You want to find me? I changed my X account to Rich for America. And that's, by the way, I changed all my social media handles to match Rich for America. I got really upset at one congresswoman. because she had a sign of. She had the audacity to take a picture with a sign that said, we support government workers. And in her video, she talked about, I just flew back to my district. All right, let me ask you a question, Democratic lawmaker. How much do you support federal workers when you won't pay the TSA workers? When you won't fund those people at DHS that are going without paychecks. How much do you fund those people? You don't do you. So the audacity is staying there with the sign that says, we support government workers. No, you don't. You choose which ones you want to support. And the fact that you bragged about, oh, I just flew here. Let me ask you this. We've seen the long lines up in D.C. Did you stand in line for four and a half hours like everybody else? Or did you get the congressional golden ticket moved to the front of the line TSA pass? That's the thing that bothers me the most. That's the thing that infuriates me. And listen, I try not to get frustrated at this. If I got frustrated every day, then I'd be like everybody else that just gets on the microphone, opens it up, it just gets angry and frustrated and screams and yells at the world. That doesn't do any of us any good. But this is holding people accountable. Congress, you have it in the Constitution. There's an amendment that says you have to get paid. You don't know what it's like for these people that are out there not getting paid because of the democratic temper tantrum that shut down DHS. And then they have the audacity to leave when the job's not done. You've got one job. Run the federal government. Fund the federal government. That's your job. You control the purse strings. We hear this all the time. You control the purse strings. And you can't even do that right. And I get what Mike Johnson said. I was disappointed John Thune because I thought he caved, he gave in too much because we're talking about the things that they didn't want to fund like ice. I need to do a deep dive. But here's what I'll tell you. What I've done my research into ice, you know, there's the ice agents that find people and deport people that are here illegally. You know there's other parts of ICE where they go after? Because remember ICE is immigration and custom enforcement. You know there's a whole other division of ICE called HSI that does all the investigating. And they're responsible for a lot of things including fighting against human trafficking and sex slavery. So the next time you hear Democrats say abolish ICE, I'd like to ask them. I'd like you to ask them. Abolish ICE. Hmm.
So what you're saying is you want to stop funding and abolish the portion of our federal government that is out there now looking for all those kids that were brought here by the cartels, the coyotes, and the human traffickers, unaccompanied, given to people we don't know who they are. They didn't know who they were in a lot of places. And we don't know where they are today and who knows what they're doing. You want to get rid of that part. You want to get rid of the part that fights against human trafficking and sex slavery. So that's the part you want to get rid of. That's the part that you're willing to shut down the government and cause pain to everybody else. Really? I'd love to see someone ask that on one of those Sunday shows. I'd love to have MS Now ask that question. I love to have CNN ask that question. That's why we ask these questions on this show in the morning because we're going to ask the questions that everybody else is afraid to ask. We'll continue with you.
