Mike Johnson joins us this morning, the Speaker of the House on News Radio, WRVA. But let's go check him with Brian Kilmeade of Fox News, of course. He'll take over right after we're done with the program today. Brian, good morning. Let's get to it. A bunch of different things will go round robin style. We've been talking about what's going on in Virginia, the gerrymandering. The crazy story coming out of the New York Times. The Democrats are thinking of getting together with Hakeem Jeffries and firing our Supreme Court, your thoughts? There's no way they're going to do it, but just shows how desperate and angry they are. You know, that's what happens, Rich. You and I have both blown $60 billion, so we know what it feels like. That's what they must feel like today. So they knew they blew it. They bragged about it. F around and find out. Remember the high fives we saw it two weeks ago? And then the Supreme Court said, yeah. No, it's not allowed. And then their response is, okay, it's partisan. It's Trump's fault. Really? The guy that cast one of the votes, the other direction was appointed by Governor Warner. Now Senator Warner, still a Democrat. So, nice try. Virginia's a lost cause, or they're talking about putting age limits on and then finding a bunch of people over the age limit and kicking them off. So they lost it. If they go ahead and do that, that would be single-handedly the craziest thing to do in a purple state. It would be crazy to do in a blue state, let alone in a purple state. You will alienate everybody, every independent. it would be the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. It would be nothing more than a temper tantrum by Hakeem Jeffries. But the fact of the matter is, they've planted this in the New York Times. Explain to people what happens when you planted the New York Times. That's just a shot across the bow. That's a threat to the Supreme Court. That's a threat to Virginia. That doesn't happen by accident. Somebody had that put in the New York Times on purpose. Yeah, no doubt about it. So, you know, be that what it may. And just be people that are nonpartisan see that type of desperation. And I think it rubs in the wrong way. Brian Kilmeade, joining us, of course, we'll catch up with Brian right after the show. Comes up after we're done with Richmond's morning news. A couple of the big stories. The fighting temporarily halted in Ukraine between Russia and Ukrainian as they have their big victory day parade. Do you think this opens up something where Donald Trump's might be able to get these two? They've agreed to that ceasefire with that parade. Do you think we're getting closer, maybe something getting done over there? I do. When Vladimir Putin came out and said this war's going to be coming to an end, he's never, ever, ever said that. Now, he can reverse himself, but he's been humiliated. I've never...
In my life, seeing a team, I've seen a team with my mindset still back on sports. In my lifetime, I've never seen a situation where a country who is attacked innovates its way to victory. And that's what's happening between the robots, literally robots. First, they destroyed all their tanks when they were traditional. They wiped out the invading force. They pushed them back. And then Russia adjusted. Got it. And then Ukraine instead of saying, okay, let's just call it a day, they all of us started innovating themselves out with anti-dron technology, having their own drones. And then when we gave them attack them, and Joe Biden was slow to give them high mars, attack them, slow to give them F-16s. They went and innovated. They got their F-16s. They got their pilots trained, and they innovated themselves with their own long-range missiles. So now they were able to hit Moscow. And guess who knows that, Vladimir Putin? And guess who doesn't have to give permission? The U.S. because the U.S. says, you know, if we give permission, it's like we're actually hitting Moscow. We don't want to do that. Joe Biden was scared of his own shadow. And then these guys go, okay, well, we'll just make our own. And they did. And now the loans that were being held up by Hungary for EU because Hungary and that I just think that that leader is awful. I'm so glad to see him lose. Yeah. They now get a vote, a unanimous vote, and now they got loans and more money coming in. So please explain to me how Russia is going to prevail here. No, it looks like they're getting ping in the corner. Hey, I know you got to bounce. What do you got coming up on the radio after we're done today? Well, I'm going to do three main things. I'm going to do the China visit. I'm going to do the Ukraine offer, excuse me, the Iranian offer and the gerrymandering madness. And, you know, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's ridiculous comments. from there are no billionaires. You can't earn a billion dollars to the revolution was fought against billionaires of their day. Yes, we took on the billionaire British. Billionaire British. By the way, tell that to Dana White that you can't be a self-made man in this country. Everybody. Right. Tell it to Taylor Swift. Tell it to Jerry Seinfeld. Tell it to Michael Jim Jordan. Tell it to Jeff Bezos. You come up with an idea that's wanted. That's what happens. And you employ the, I mean, do we really have to, Boston University should take back their degree. If you are a parent about to send your kid to business school there, please don't waste your money. You get that as a result. Brian, I've got one of my best friends, Mike Hicks, his daughter went there. And he always has to constantly remind me, she didn't take the same major as Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. No, she does not have the same education. Otherwise, I would have felt I got ripped off. I know you got to run. Thank you so much. I'll talk with you next week. Go get it, Rich. Thank you so much. Brian Kilmeade, joining us here on News Radio, WRVA.
It is absolutely just the bizarre old world. That's why today's twilight zone day. I feel like him in the twilight zone between everything that Brian talked about, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, nobody can become a billionaire. Tell that to Dana White. They just had the big announcement. We're going to have the UFC fight. Dana White's going to be on a podcast that I work on with Brett Boone. We did the whole Dana White story. This is a guy who had absolutely nothing. It built the UFC into making himself a very rich and successful man. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez says, no, there's nobody that actually earns that. Dana White did. You look at what's going on with Vladimir Putin asking Ukraine, can we kind of chill for a minute while we have our big parade? Again, I feel like him in the bizarre world. And then this whole story. of the Democrats throwing a temper tantrum, now threatening, and I said that for a reason with Brian, nothing ends up in the New York Times on a Sunday like that unless somebody planted it there, and it's a shot across the bow, and it's the Democrats throwing a temper tantrum that they're actually considering. Hakeem Jeffries had a call with lawmakers from here in Virginia. First of all, Hakeem Jeffries, the fact that you even entertained this and it got leaked to the New York Times, you want to talk about a threat to democracy, you want to talk about someone who wants to be an authoritarian. We have three branches of government. We have the executive branch, the legislative branch, and the judicial branch, and all three of those are checks against the other. If the legislature is able to fire the judiciary, then you have a serious problem. We'll continue talking about that old morning long. This is Richmond's Morning News. I'm Rich Schmerer. Thanks for joining us this morning on The Voice of Virginia. Life can feel overwhelming, but you don't have to go through it alone.
