Howie Carr joins us at 730s every single Tuesday, and we always appreciate him being with us. And that conversation is always sponsored by our friends at Route 22 Service Center, offering shuttle service to work or to home. You can make an appointment today by going to Route 22 service center.com. Howie Carr, how are things on this Tuesday morning? Very good. What do you think they've got on Graham Platner that we don't already know? Oh, I know that they've got a lot on him. I am aware of a few things cooking in the background to him. Let me just say this, Awecar. There will be no shortage of things to talk about over the next several months with Graham Platner in that race, and as the presumptive nominee. No doubt about it. Well, I mean, why are they letting it out now? I mean, couldn't Janet Mills still theoretically get back in the fight? I suppose so. I agree with you 100%. I think they should sit on most of this and drop it when people are paying attention later when it's going to do more damage. But that's just my take on it. Maybe they have this feeling that there's just so much that you can do. It's unfortunate to get people's expectations up. That's what I mean. It's better just to, you know, a bombshell should be a bombshell. It shouldn't be just kind of leaked out. Then you say, oh, that's all they got. That's my own feeling as an amateur political strategist. Agreed. Yeah, agreed. What do you make of the ignominious end of Janet Mills? I mean, that was a historic flame out. I actually just saw something yesterday that said this is the first sitting governor that has been running for Senate that has dropped out since 1988. I didn't realize that. That's pretty humiliating, actually, if you think about it, which makes me smile just a little bit. The way I said this on the air, you know, I'm so glad that some of these COVID tyrants are finally, you know, facing some kind of karma. You know, there's two few of them. You know, Charlie Baker in Massachusetts, Andrew Cuomo and New York, but it's only a handful of them have actually been punished by the voters or, you know, forced to resign and disgrace or not run for re-election. And I'm glad to see it. I don't, you know, I don't care. You know, sometimes you just have to, you know, end someone's political career. They've been so appalling, despite what may be, you know, lurking in the, you know, in the bullpen. You know, don't you feel? Oh, yeah. Yeah, I mean, you're out of the fire, frying pan and into the fire with Graham Platner there, but I will take that deal 100 times out of 100 to get rid of Janet Mills. I mean. The COVID stuff is obviously like the instigating thing for me really disliking her a lot, but it's about so much more, Howie. She's done so many bad things. Right. Well, that's the MO of the COVID tyrants, right? It's just the COVID just was the real in-your-face, you know, slap. It was the mask-off moment. That's how I say it.

But it's true. You know, what the thing about it, though, Howie is, if you think about it, I've been watching some of the polling on that race, you know, not just about like them against each other, but like, you know, right track, wrong track questions. And what do you think about the economy in Maine? What do you think about education in Maine or whatever? And they're all crap for her. I mean, every single thing that she has made a signature of her time in office has really turned. pretty poorly. And I think everybody in the States, like, over her. She's like, I'm, I'm not sure she was ever really all that popular to begin with. I think she just was a benefit. There was a benefit of a lot of fortunate timing with her when she ran those races because I think she's always been a kind of a crummy politician. Yeah, you know, but the thing is, I mean, what gets me about Graham Platner is Plattenor represents all of the problems that have been created in the wake of Janet Mills' misrule over the years. You know, all these nuts coming into the state. I mean, maybe he's like a native, although, you know, he went to the Hodgpish school and all that, which to me is that by itself is disqualifying for any person, you know, in public life. That's just me. I think I'm there with it. And, you know, but why would you vote for him? I mean, you're P-Oed because of the flatlanders, you know, the rich flatlanders who pretend to have jobs and pretend to be working class and pretend to be a friend that bought up everything and they wanted to take away your gun range and they want to take away your lobster fishing and they want to take away everything. Why would you vote for him as a protest? I don't get it. See how he's new. He's fresh. He's, he's authentic. He's new Coke. I mean, that's, he's just repackaged as a, as a, as a open, you know, vessel, a white sheet in a white piece of paper. You can, like, pour your hopes and dreams to the guy. More ways than one, you know? I mean, they call everybody a Nazi, and then they have a real Nazi, you know, a guy with a real Nazi tattoo, and he's okay. I don't get it. You know, really, I mean, I understand it's not a party anymore. It's a cult. I got that. But still, I mean, don't cults have some standards? No, apparently not. Apparently, they do not have any standards, and this is just where we're at right now. I mean, it's just tribal crap. I mean, they're, they, they, all they want to do right now is beat Donald Trump, you know, get rid of Susan Collins, and sort of score their victory. So they don't really particularly care how they do it. And if it happens to be, I mean, I think that they're well aware of the fact the guy's a phony. I would at least I hope that they are. You know, that would make me feel a little bit better if they knowingly knew he was a phony and they just decided to go with it. You know, I'd feel a little bit better about that than if they believed him. You know, that he, oh, I'm an oyster farmer. I'm a working class stiff just like you. I don't know. What about all these people coming in from out of state to work for him?

I mean, for one thing, if you're coming from far away, I mean, it's one thing to write a check if you got, you know, mom and pop gave you a million bucks like his mom and pop dad. You know, okay, you write a check, but you're coming up to campaign for him. You know what that means? You know what that means. It means you don't have a job. Yep, yes, it does. Nobody's taking time off to go campaign for somebody out of state. It's one thing to hold the sign on Saturday morning before the primary. But, you know. It's just crazy. You know, I've watched it, you know, like everybody has what's happened to Maine. But, I mean, this is, I really hope they could take him out. I just don't want to get overconfir. No. I think he's an actual threat to win, which depresses me greatly, saying so. I mean, I don't know. A lot of it's going to depend on what the overall national environment looks like. I mean, I know that I was probably going to ask you about the Iran thing and how that's all going. Certainly protecting those ships and getting a couple of them through there and preventing Iran from actually being able to threaten them too much is a hell of a good sign. And if that turns into something really super positive, I mean, that makes me feel a little bit better about things. Right. Right. I was thinking that, you know, those attack those little mosquito squad, so-called attacking and getting wiped out. I thought that would be an excuse to, you know, to just bomb them back even further into the Stone Age than they already are. You know, Trump is pulling his punches here. I hope, you know, I guess he knows what he's doing, you know. And again, if it's not a, if they're really not a threat, then just get all those ships out of there and just start shipping the oil out. You know, that should drop the prices somewhat anyway. Yeah. I mean, I was saying it this morning, but if they really can protect those ships and get them out there. And they can maintain the blockade, which, of course, they can. That gets pretty much all of Iran's leverage out of the door. I mean, they have absolutely no options at that point. So that's definitely a win for the U.S. if that kind of thing happens. So, you know, their most reliable ally at this point. I mean, it's obvious. It's not Russia, not China, not North Korea. It's the Democrat Party and regime control media in the U.S. That's all they got left. Yeah. Yeah, I suppose so. Certainly the fellow travelers in Europe can't help them, the comrades. Macaron, Murs, and Keir Starmer. I mean, they're just, you know, they're just, you know, hand-wringing. They're just invisible. I mean, I don't even think about them on a daily basis. They don't help anybody. They don't help us. They don't care that much about Iran either. They're just kind of stuck in their own little country doing nothing. I mean, Keir Starmer. That guy is. A piece of work. It's bad. I hope he gets crushed this weekend in the buy elections. I'm pretty sure he's going to. He's having a bad time lately. I think he's improving. He's in like the 20% range. It's pretty bad. It is. Raising the question, who are these 20%?

So the answer I don't have, Howie, it's an answer I don't have. So the other thing I wanted to ask you about here, Howie, I was talking about it earlier in the program, but it looks like Ron DeSantis just signed the Florida redistricting situation. I said that this was basically the essence of the F-A-F-O phenomenon. Like, I mean, you want to do the Virginia thing, you want to do the California thing, fine, but we got more. states, you get more districts to redraw if we wanted to than you people do. So did you really want to pick this fight? Because right now it looks like you didn't. They're going to eliminate climbers seat in South Carolina. Oh, yeah. Louisiana's redraw in theirs. I mean, this is a disaster for them, honestly. Yeah, and you ought to check. Have you mentioned the dissent? Not the dissent, but the order from Samuel Alito. I did. On Ketanji Brown Jackson. Oh, that is so great. Yep. So Ketanji Brown Jackson is asking Louisiana to proceed with an unconstitutional map for the election. I mean, that says it all, doesn't it? It does. It does. It does say it all. Yes, it does. That's your idea of jurisprudence. Yeah, well, brilliant jurists. It's unconstitutional if it helps the Democrats. With the Harvard, by the way. She did, yes. excelled there. Yeah, I heard. I appreciate it. Appreciate it being with me, Howie. Unfortunately, we're out of time, so I do have to stop there. What's going on at Howie Car Show.com before we get out of the door? We got all of our stuff, and we'll have, but we still got Maria's gift certificates. It's great for Mother's Day. It's great for Father's Day. You know, $25 for a $50 gift certificate at Maria is the oldest and best Italian restaurant. And, you know, we're going to be pushing those hard this week. And we got some good stuff coming up today with the governor's race in Massachusetts if people are interested in it. We'll have both of the Republican candidates on. Yeah. Well, appreciate it, Howie. Thanks a lot. Make sure you go to Howie Car Show.com and check it out today. We'll talk again next Tuesday, sir. Thanks a lot.
