Here's Alante today, and Kirk, did I predict? The thing you get, he could do a filibuster on the... landlord law. Absolutely. We could send him to Washington 24 hours alone on that. Exactly. Here's Alante today, and we hear that there's an usher trying to make sure it's exactly one minute taken away the microphone at the end. Here's how it sounded. Good morning, everybody. My name is John. I'm Lante McCauley. I'm with a grassroots organization called Flip, Philly Red. We're here to offer you something different because you've been voting Democrat for the mayor's office for the past 70 years. In regard to bill number 2.50330 was part of the Safe, Healthy Oams Act. Nowhere in the United States Constitution of the Pennsylvania State Constitution does it say government has a right to interfere in private contracts between tenants and landlords. Clearly, the Democrat Party does not care about small businesses. Mom and pop owners don't get into real estate to be trash landlords. Mom and pop owners pay the taxes that fund this city. Mom and pop owners provide the housing for the working families in the city. But yet, mom and pop owners continually get overregulated by this Democratic city. None of this is intelligent. None of this attracts investment, but we see the game. Make it too risky, make it too expensive until government controls everything. Tax everything we make and then we have to come to you guys for everything. My minute is up, but we don't come here for your award shows. We will have our full two minutes if we don't come here for your award show. We want our full two minutes. Stop cutting our time show.

Audience seems to be with you on it this week. They want their two minutes too. Yeah. Oh, my goodness. Cutting down to a minute, these little weasels, they know they don't want to get rid of it or can. I don't know which one it is. And it seemed like two minutes was the workable thing before, and that worked now down to one minute. So, Alante, since we last spoke, you've done some meet and greet events. You're out there. Delaware County, you end up in a few times to what's going on? on the ground here, particularly during the war. What are you hearing? What are you talking about when you're out there? Well, I think, like I say, Philadelphia Republicans are just always looking for some type of guidance and some structure finally. So I've had a meet and greet we just did recently again. And I told them whether I want to lose, we're going to continue doing them, you know, just so we can start having a conservative real Republican presidents in Philadelphia. And now I'm trying to, I'm even promoting me going down the city council every week. So I'm trying to rally because today they had a bunch of planned parenthood groups down there. and a bunch of indoctrination groups. And it's like, well, I'm looking around where the Republicans at? And the groups, the pro-life groups and things like that. And so they are more energized than we are. Even though they're going for the wrong things in life, they are energized and they're ready to try to flip the country back over to their side. So tonight I will be in Delaware County speaking doing a town hall on April 27th. We have Chicago Flips Red, Chicago, who started this whole movement, they will be coming to Philadelphia to North Broad Street. So we're going to be doing a joint thing. the flag wave down there on April 27th. Well, now they have, I'd say they probably have a harder time, Chicago. They have a Marxist as mayor. I don't think Cheryl Parker's at. But we have just about as long. I think it's similar, the last Republican or anything other than a Democrat mayor. Right. So good for them. If you can do it in Chicago, we can certainly do it here. During all this. What are people at these events and social media? What are they talking about with you as an issue? Are they supportive for what's going on in Iran? Does that come up? Or is it just everyday affordability and things like that? Well. I think more so in Philadelphia is more so the taxes are the popular subject because Cheryl Parker, while she might not be, you know, an extremist vocally like Mayor Karen Bass or Brandon Johnson or Madame Dian in New York, she still has socialist policies that, you know, that hurts us. So when you're talking about an Uber tax, the Amazon tax, and what happened to the soda tax, these are things that everybody's worried about. They're putting speed cameras and the name of safety up everywhere.

speed cushions. I just listen to my first budget hearing. I'm trying to learn. I'm in real time. I'm I'm learning a lot. So I was listening to budget hearings recently. And just to see how, you know, the departments in Philadelphia work and how incompetent some of these things are Iran. And it's like we can do a lot better, but we just need some common sense people in there pushing common sense policies. So affordability is the main thing. When it comes to the topic of Iran, it comes up more on social media, but not in like real life conversations. Like when we're outside, but online, that is like a hot. issue. Now, you mentioned Uber. I was kind of surprised that Uber is making the pitch, and I'm on the Uber side. It's ludicrous what they're doing. And I think they're going to have trouble, Mikie Sherrill Parker, because it seems like the working family's party might be with Uber on this stuff. Okay. Number of low-income individuals that use Uber. Right. Surprising. Yeah, surprisingly. You know, when I'm in those chambers. Because people think it's just a couple people, a couple of us council members that are crazy. It's all of them. Sometimes they are split. They might be split on this subject. But, you know, you know, they're pushing for more socialism ideas. But they're all clapping for the indoctrination, the DEIs, the what was me, slavery is still here. Trump is evil. It's, you know, they're all one big team. But. They are, it is some pushback, believe it or not, even with the liberal side, if you talk to some liberals, if you're, you know, they don't know what side you're on because, you know, if I'm not wearing my magid hat and they just think, uh, casual conversation, they'll, they'll complain about what Mayor Shirel Parker is doing right now. So she's vulnerable right now. Yeah, but the alternative is Larry Krasner. That's the only difficulty that that might happen. So how do you, we talked about this before, but I don't think I ask it this way. When they do that stuff, you're a disgrace to black man or they think you have to be liberal. I know that's the hot button for you. Yes. That the people that I know in Philadelphia, where I live and where you live, They're not liberal. They might be adrift. They're not any party. Right. But they go to church, things of that nature, and their value system is not progressive at all. Right. Yet they may vote for these people. Right. Exactly. Because they made skin color a god. Right. So, you know, they'll go against in their best interests because they believe, like I was born black. I wasn't born a Democrat. Mm-hmm. I don't owe them anything. They push victim mentality. So, like, you might have an upper middle class. I said this before on your show. They may have made it in life. They may attend Enon Tabernacle Church, one of the prominent churches that I used to go to, that I was baptized that. You know, you might have a home at Mount Airy or Chestnut Hill or West Oakland.

And, you know, you made it. You're successful. But the thing is, they had this victim mentality, the woes me, slavery still here mentality that they push up on my generation, Gen Z and Gen Alpha. And we've never experienced those things. So it's two sides to the coin. Was their slavery? Yes. But talk about how the white Americans were the first to abolish the most successful people to abolish slavery in the whole entire world. You know, talk about how they fought in the Civil War for us for our freedoms. You know, talk about which party fought for Jim Crow, fought for segregation, opposed our civil rights laws. Tell the whole story, you know, and they don't do that part. They stop very short just to, and it's not one group or one. ethnic group that hasn't faced some type of oppression, genocide, some type of struggle. Everybody since the beginning of time has went through something. It's not just black Americans. So we have to stop that mentality because that's not the reason why I see kids that are 15 years old and grown men that are 50 plus years old on septet trains smoking marijuana or drinking butt lights. on septic trains and people are trying to commute from school to home and back and work and vice versa. They're not the reason why black women lead with the highest rate of abortion. They're not the reason why these schools are getting, why children are getting shot up in these streets. It has nothing to do with slavery. It has nothing to do with the white man. We take no accountability. And that's the problem that I have with that generation who's made it in my community. Yeah, so you're a multidimensional. That seems to be your target pushing back on that. And also the Republican Party, who for crumbs at the table has allowed this to go on. Now, they would argue, well, we can't win in Philadelphia. Is this guy kid, I mean, I get stuff on Twitter all the time from some of the usual suspect bow and these others out there. This guy's crazy. You can't win in Philadelphia. Why do this? Right. Well, for one, I tell people this. God has given me this mission. So I'm not, if I see Philadelphia flip, or start to move that way in my lifetime, cool. If I don't, I don't care. Because when I leave this earth, when my time is up, I just want to hear job, well done, my good and faithful servant from the Lord. You know, and then I'll pass the baton to somebody else who's next. If you don't go into North Philadelphia, West Philadelphia, Southwest Philadelphia, and do conservative Republican events, if they never see pro-life events, all they know. It's one party. All they know is one way. So to say that we can't win in Philadelphia is either you are competent or you corrupt. And so when I'm on there, when I'm putting my videos up, I'm getting thousands. I can't even respond to everybody anymore. Nationally. There was, was it Badaia Ungar's Segron? Who was the other one this week of reposting? I'm not even sure. I can't even catch them all. Yeah. I know.

It's a lot going on. So the Daily Caller, you know, that's it. Yeah, the Gateway Pundit. So a lot of these big national platforms are picking me up. But just in Philadelphia alone, black, white, Latino, they're saying, please keep fighting. So when you're not, I've had women, grown woman. grown men almost in tears when I was knocking doors trying to get my petition signatures because a Republican was knocking on their door. They don't know who this chairman is. They don't know we even have a chairman. And so that's one of the big gripes that I've also heard from this chairman. He said, I didn't come introduce myself to him, the Philadelphia GOP chairman. I just started throwing shots. My question to him is, did you introduce yourself to Philadelphia? When they're burning flags out front. of City Hall, the birthplace of America, where was your statement at? When Larry Krasner comes out here and says these crazy things about ICE, where is your rebuttal at? Every time Philadelphia needs a leader, needs somebody to stand up. This chairman hides in the shadow. So you worried about me knocking on your door. You're the leader. Have you knocked on Philadelphia's door? Well, put, where do we find you at your door being social media? That's the other package here. Your social media skill is something really, really admirable. You get better all the time. Might need a little coaching. You're at another, your Ph.D. level. Thank you, sir. On Talk Radio 1210, WPHT. All right, it is Dom time. Stocks turn higher again. Yesterday was the best that I've seen, but oil prices are up. about $2 more per barrel. You got to tell me, do you see, we're trying to give people some sense of hope countering the nonsense here on the ground. The gas stations are responding and that prices are going down. They're not going to go down overnight. That's crazy, but Chuck Schumer is even crazy. I tell you a year from now, it'll still be over $4. It's not going to be. We're not seeing that. But the Iranians.

are up to their old tricks, just as you think they would. And the key thing you're doing with the straight of her moves, they're only letting vessels through at a crawling pace. So they say, well, vessels are getting through. This is the deal. Now, Karoline Leavitt actually used the word red line when it comes to getting that material that's buried underground that is enriched uranium. If they will do that, that's a big step. Here is the head of NATO. This is cut nine. When asked the question, you have to ask every day. We had Felipe, he didn't want to answer it today. I asked it yesterday, and a lot of people answer it. Are we safer? Is the world safer, but are American safer? And I would argue, yes, we are much safer at this point in time. Does that mean they still don't have leverage? No, they have several areas of leverage, including their religious fanaticism, that will come into play this weekend. I'm not hopeful on this. I'm not going into this thinking, you know, they sat down with Whitcalf and Jared Kushner before, remember? Well, the starting point is we already have the materials to make 11 bombs. We're going to negotiate. That's a given. We're going to stipulate. We got 11. Now let's talk about what you're going to do so that we don't have any more. What do we get? That essentially is what's being played out here. Think about that. They're not able to say that now. The world is a much safer place. Here is the head of NATO. Does he agree, cut nine? On a scale of 1 to 10, 1 being not worried at all, 10 being terrified, where do you leave Washington thinking President Trump, your opinion of President Trump wanting to leave NATO? Are you one? I'm not worried at all. 10, I'm really worried Trump is going to pull out of NATO. Well, I'm not going to get into that, answering that question. I'm just trying to get it. No, I understand. But what I felt today, this was a meeting between France. Because we like each other. I really admire his leadership. And he knows what he did in the Hague. Last year at the NATO summit has been crucial. And NATO allies are with him. But it comes to the aims of taking out, as I said, degrading the nuclear and the ballistic missile capacity of the Iranians. Yeah, but Europeans wanted to do it through diplomatic means. Yeah. I know, but we run the risk that this would lead into the North Korea moment, where you talk so long. that at a certain moment, it's beyond the point where you can still get this done, because then they would get their hands on the nuclear capacity. And that is basically a big risk for Europe. It is existential for Israel. It is existential for the Middle East. So the whole world is safer by this president degrading those capabilities. And this is by many in Europe.

acknowledged and they understand that continuing talking to get this done would have brought us potentially past that moment where we can still deal with it so you talked about this all right so he feels he making happen ahead of NATO Europe safer that's number one you got to check that box now getting out of this moving forward with something solidified that's going to be much more difficult, you know, and there's going to be a lot of ebb and flow with this. Just what they're doing with the straight-of-war moose is an example. By the way, our buddy, Chris Tramaglia, writing at the Washington Examiner. We haven't won a lot. The president, he says, has created historic border turnaround. Zero, zero, or nil, if you're coming here for soccer, zero releases at the border for 11 consecutive months. Eleven consecutive months, no one has been released. March is the 11th consecutive month of closing it. Another example of promises made and promises kept. Now, we still have a lot of work to do because of the previous four years. There wasn't any border. But that is remarkable, shutting it down to that degree. All right. So you can argue, it's like the moon thing. If we can put a man on the moon, why can't we do something with the Iranians? And the answer is, their religious fanaticism, the Strait of Ormoos, the oil, they all make this a tar baby difficult to get out of. It sticks to you once you get into this stuff. And sadly, that's where we are at this point. I don't see the leverage point yet. If they would agree to dig up the nuclear material, for me, that'd be a big leverage point to get out of there. We are going to keep the Navy military vessels. We're going to continue to do that. That's a given. 855-833, 9, 12, 10, you can get on board. Let's go to... Let's go to Robert and Ben Salem, and he's got something he might agree with the president. I'm in agreement with this. Robert, afternoon. How are you feeling today? Hey, Dom Henry, it's good to talk to you guys today. Real quick, before I get to the side question, I'm thinking about like that first caller who failed miserably because you handled him so well, by the way. I'm talking about, you know, all the lies and the art of the deal. And I'm thinking the art of the deal works when the other side wants a solution. Trump will find out what he's looking for and try to accommodate quid pro quo. Okay, he's very good at that. But sometimes you're going to run into somebody who is not interested in finding a solution, like Vladimir Putin, like the fundamentalists. like even the Pope. And so it occurs to me that Trump's skills, as formidable as they are, have their limits when you're dealing with stubborn Russians, radical fundamentalists, and dopey popes. Do you know what I mean? Oh, exactly. And that's something that we're seeing play out of here, where he's trying to gain a leverage point.

And I don't know if they blink the other night or they just thought, all right, it's not worth it. We're going to go into act two, which is, yeah, we'll let the ships come through. And then they slow them down to a pace that still cripples you. I know. It's maddening. It is maddening, but it's maddening because he's holding back from what he could do. Right. We should just keep that in mind. Yep. And also. I am going to look forward to celebrating the 250th anniversary of this country in July. And if Al Sharpton wants to celebrate the 163rd anniversary, knock yourself out. Nobody cares out. And finally, from my side, I'm going to go with that ridiculous, and it drives me crazy every time I watch a game, Dom, that ridiculous new kickoff rule they have. I like the old way. It sets up the game with immediate action and impact. And what they're doing now, it's like... the wushification of the NFL in my view. Now, the argument would be, though, this is, I think analytically, they know the injuries that are going to be caused by bomb squatters going down or all this. That's what the argument is. It's because they fair catch it every time. There's no action in those old kickoffs. That's where they did this. Okay, you can move it back then. That's a good point. That's a good point. I just think it seems like it's just no fun to watch. And onside kicks are never going to work anymore, I'll think. That part, yeah, that ought to be, I'm not. sure why they took that out of the game. It doesn't work now. Really enjoy kicking it around with you guys, though, man. Have a great day, Doc. Now, in my knowledge, maybe it's quirky, presidents have been on Talk Radio in Philadelphia. I don't remember ever a sitting Speaker of the House. You know, we never had Nancy on, and she was there for a long time. But Mike Johnson tomorrow. And we got the guy that I want to pick his brain and ask him so that I really ask a question that's effective and gives you the best. Our guy, Dr. E.J. Antony, acting director of the Roe Institute for Economic Policy Studies, chief economist, and Richard Astor Fellow, and somebody who makes the economy. work in our minds here to see what's going to happen next and what has happened. Let's go to E.J. here on Talk Radio 1210. Hey, E.J., welcome in. Tom, great to be back with you. How are you doing? Very good, E.J. So what would be in the middle of this, do you think, an appropriate area to question Mike Johnson? What do you think would allow him, you know, some space to rift on it and get a sense of what he's thinking? Oh, goodness. What the heck are we doing with Reconciliation 2.0? Where are the additional tax cuts? That might be a good place to start. Obviously, the SAVE Act is huge, right? There's a lot of mostly non-economic issues in there, but still some really fertile ground, I think, for great conversation. All right. I will certainly credit you. How are you feeling watching the markets around this day two, day one, EJ, that's the best my 401k ever jumped and I keep records that I know of. And yet today it's up again. What are they reacting to here? Is it hope more than anything?

I think it's largely hoped. Benjamin Netanyahu basically said he's going to consider talking about a ceasefire with Lebanon sometime soon. That had markets up largely because oil was down. That very strong inverse relationship continues to hold. Every time the president says something positive about the negotiations with Iran, things again move in the right direction in terms of markets going up and oil going down. But in terms of actual progress on the ground, this is why I say it really seems to be hope more than anything else. You're not seeing the Strait of Hormuz returned to anywhere near what was pre-war traffic levels. You're not seeing the bombing of civilians in Lebanon abating. I mean, it really is just amazing how very little on the ground is different right now than it was 24 or 48 hours ago. I would agree from where I sit. That's why this is so difficult to deal with and why this is such a bold action by the president. Yes, we can decimate them. But what they do with the passive aggressive and the straight of Hormuz, we are letting the ships through. You know, they probably figure we wouldn't go to a massive attack as long as they let some ships come through. But even still, Dom, I mean, I think you only had one so far, one non-Iranian oil tanker moved through the straits since this so-called ceasefire began. And again, it's amazing how many different nations on both sides of the conflict, in other words, Iran and pretty much everybody else, it's amazing how many countries have reported that they are under attack. So for a ceasefire, there doesn't seem to be much cessation of the firing. And again, if you look at the Strait of Hormuz, I think six, seven weeks ago, two months ago, it was basically a kind of a global freeway. And today it has become a kind of Iranian tollway where now they stand to get additional revenue off of every ship that they do actually allow through. Yeah, you're exactly right. It's so, you know, the markets are still hopeful, though. They're still wanting to hope. E.J., Chuck Schumer and the others are out there saying, we're not going to come back to gas prices. Let's say this is settled, meaning we're out of there. We get something that we want. I'm seeing prices go down already. What's your sense of how long would it take to get our economy going again as far as fuel prices? Great, great question, Dom. It's going to take a pretty good amount of time, in part because this isn't just an issue of fuel prices. You know, the oil crisis has gotten a lot of attention, and rightly so. But the reason it's gotten so much attention is because consumer prices have already increased. When you fill up, it doesn't matter if it's gas or diesel, you're paying an arm and a leg right now. Something that has not yet increased. food prices, but that is coming because this isn't just an oil crisis. It's a fertilizer crisis too. And there are plenty of other huge holes that are developing in the supply chain. But if you look at what's happened with fertilizer and fertilizer prices, which have now gone through the roof.

farmers are paying a whole heck of a lot more. They are planting less. They are applying less fertilizer. Yields are going to be down in the coming months. And come the autumn, you're going to see higher food prices as a result. Now, look, it's not as if you're going to be paying 10 extra food. It's not as if you're going to have a global famine. I'm not trying to be hyperbolic here. But I think that's just one of many examples. where consumers are going to be feeling additional pain in the future. And that's even if the war gets wrapped up literally within the next few days and that straight gets opened again. There are a lot of coming price increases that at this point are just baked into the cake. So you see them too, sadly abutting the midterms, midterm season. I do as a matter of fact. I think there's a really good chance. Now, it's going to vary depending on the crop and depending on the product, but there's a really good chance that some of these price hikes start hitting basically in October, which coincidentally happens to be right before midterms. Corn is one of those, and the reason why corn is so important is because it's the primary crop we use for ethanol, which is one of the things that we very stupidly put into our gasoline. And so you talk about lower fuel prices. It's not just a matter of oil, crude oil prices have to come down. The price of corn, if that is going up pretty dramatically in the fall, then that'll trickle down into higher gas prices as well. E.J., getting ready for you today, I saw in Politico. Now, it's Politico, and I know, you know, this may be true, but it's also to the left of center to push this. When we get down to affordability, one of the key areas is childcare, which is astronomical. I don't know what Republicans aren't saying on that. I'm going to ask Johnson tomorrow that any sense of what could be done is there a market solution to child care because... New York is not a good example, but it's astronaut. Some of the figures are beyond recognition. What's a market solution to this that might work? Well, I would say two things, Dom. The first and foremost is deregulation. Part of the reason why childcare is so unbelievably expensive in places like New York is all of the ridiculous requirements that they put in place. And what that does is it increases the per child cost of running a child care center. And that means that all those costs have to be passed on to the consumer if you want to make money, which obviously that's the whole purpose of business, right? No one is in business for charity except a charity. So that's first and foremost, the one thing that can be done. But another thing which is often overlooked is the fact that we have through a lot of disastrous public policies caused prices to rise. faster than incomes. Now, obviously, that was getting reversed during the first year of the Trump administration. Unfortunately, as we're going to see with Friday's CPI number, that took a big step backwards in March.

Hopefully we get that back on track soon. But basically, as prices rise faster than wages, you force all of these couples to have a two-income household instead of just one. And the result of that is now we need to outsource childcare, which is an incredibly expensive thing to outsource to begin with. A parting area for you. Are you looking at studying? I'm doing it here. We had a guy calling the other day, one of our favorites. It was $6,485 better for him this year, tax return because he does do a lot of work where he gets tipped, the no tax on tips. We should be seeing people happy about that pretty soon, right? I think so, Dom. Now, okay, this is going to be a little bit of a mixed bag here. On the good side, yes, you do have a lot of people getting much bigger tax returns, and it is predominantly low and middle income earners. If you're on the upper end of the income scale, your tax return is going to look roughly similar. Okay, so on average, it's about a 10, maybe 11% increase in the size of the average tax return. So great news there. Here's kind of the fly in the ointment right now, though. It's the fact that people are spending so much more on fuel that it's actually eating into a lot of those tax returns. And that's why so many economic growth forecasts that previously were ballooning as all of the tax return data was coming in, a lot of that, not all, but a lot of that is getting reversed. And investment houses, for example, on Wall Street are having to revise back down their economic growth forecast because they're realizing that a good chunk of these higher tax returns are going to get eaten up in higher transportation costs. Are you noticing is it on your radar? Because I am doing anything I can hear, but the Republicans are not. taken to the streets on this in our legislature, and that is several states, Georgia, maybe Utah, there's four or five, six are rescinding the tax on gas as we go through this crisis. In our case in Pennsylvania, we're the second highest in the country. That would really help people. Are you seeing that out there? Yeah, there's a lot of talk of it, Dom, but part of the problem is you've got to fill that budget hole somehow. Right. And because so few politicians are willing to do the commensurate spending cuts that are required, there's less, I think there's less momentum for it than people realize, which is unfortunate because consumers really do need that relief. Now, obviously the... The best thing would have been to not have the price increases in the first place, but that's a whole other discussion and an entirely different debate. But now that we're here, I think it puts front and center just how much we are artificially causing the price of a gallon of gas or a gallon of diesel to be increased by all of the excessive taxation and regulation that goes into every gallon of fuel. It's good and all that, but it's a brawl. And Democrats are saying, no, we're not going to let you do that. That's it. They just control the House by one vote and they stop it. This is callous because the very liberal government that has stripped organizations of life-sustaining funding has now promised, committed $13 billion on military spending. Who is paying for it? This is the guy really at the helm of trying to get us over the finish line in addition to the president. The Democrats should concentrate on the minimum wage. In other words, I think he's thinking emotionally people will see billionaires. You know, the minimum wage has been a big battle here in Pennsylvania that has been fought very well by making the argument. Well, if you do that, then what about the people that are already well above that? Don't they have to go up? What will it do with small business? Will they hire less people? That's a rational battle. But the emotional battle is what J.B. Pritzker is talking about as we head into the affordability game for the midterms. And E.J., who I'm so glad Henry, you know, he responds to him constantly. He's the best we can bring you. Today you heard him say, yeah, the clock is ticking essentially on the midterms. And I don't see the urgency. I don't see the Republicans big idea. And I'm not sure what I have is a suggestion for the big idea. Yeah, Democrats can lose it, but what do they have to give them a better chance of winning it? And we still have the war to get out of this phase and to move forward. I don't think that's a winner. I think people that get rationally why Trump is a different president, we're going to vote for Republicans anyhow, that the world has been made safer already. But you see how this can drag. And we're reaching a point where the Iranians are going to be, I would predict after this week, after they ceasefire. We're going to be back in a situation where they're not complying. They're slow walking it. And they're saying, are you really going to devastate us? We are doing something. And I think Trump is thinking, you know, people were right saying this is much different than Venezuela.
