Longest, as we called it, longest state of the union in history last night. But I honestly felt like the president of the United States was talking directly to me throughout the evening. Right, Scott? That's right, Mr. President. It seemed like he was talking, he was making a case for whether it's affordability or the Trump accounts or the gold medal winning hockey team. I just felt like he was talking directly to me all night. Right, Scott? That's right, Mr. President. And it was a good speech. So we had that, Jim Rose, and when we had a... We turn you loose on expensive toys. All sorts of stuff happens. Yeah, this is fun. Did Gary, did he say right Gary last night? No. Right, Scott? See? No. He didn't mention Gary, didn't mention me. Didn't mention Lucy. No. That's... Just you. I just felt like he was talking directly to me here. What did you take away from the president's speech last night? You know, he's not the world's greatest order, but he's got a touch. He's got a flare. He has a flair for the dramatic. And whether it was the hockey players coming through the orifices up on the upper deck or the seminal moment, which is going to be very, very valuable for him. When he asked everybody in the building to stand up, if you believe you should protect Americans over illegal aliens. And all of the Republicans stood up and none of the Democrats stood up. And that's going to be a moment that will get used time and time again in this election season. It was very embarrassing for the Democrats. Now, not all of them. But in most cases, they did not stand for any applause lines. They did stand for Melania when he saluted her. They stood for the hockey team when he saluted them. They cheered when he said the Supreme Court overturned his tariffs. Yeah. They also, when he talked about the bill that would end corruption and collusion on financial matters for members of Congress, they stood in a part of that, including Elizabeth Warren, one of his arch enemies in the United States of Senate. But it was very embarrassing for the Democrats to look like they just don't like America. He has very skillfully positioned the Democrat brand in this country as they don't love the country. They love being elected. They love giving away things for votes, but they don't love the country. Now, I'm not going to suggest that Democrats don't love the country. I'm not going to suggest that the Democrats in the U.S. House and Senate don't love the country. Maybe they don't. I think there are a few that don't, but I think most of them do. They hate Trump. They hate Trump. And they have a political agenda that they believe is better for the country because it keeps them in office. They believe in bigger government. This has been the case with the Democrat Party for 50 years in this country.

They believe the government can solve the problem better than you can. And the only way to do that is to spend more of your money. Yeah. Tax you, charge you fees, make it more challenging for you to do things on your own because we believe that government is better suited to solve your problems in Omaha, Nebraska, or Ruby Nebraska, or Kia Cuck, Iowa than you are. You know who disagrees with that? That is the... The baseline difference between Republicans and Democrats. The people who have lost loved ones to those who have streamed unchecked across our border might disagree with that. Those who came across the border and were told, all right, you'll see an asylum hearing in eight years from now. In the meantime, go live in this luxury condo in Brooklyn down the street from people who could never afford to live there but are paying the taxes to keep you there. The people who were supposed to get the money from all of that money that was supposed to. to be set aside to take care of, among other people, Somali refugees that were instead taken up by gunrunners, pirates, and thugs, both in Minnesota and in Somalia, they might disagree that the Democrats are in the best position to take care of the country. Quick pop quiz, though, for you, Jim. Who gave the Democrat response last night? That'd be Abigail Spanberger. No. Incorrect. She gave one of them. There were three of them. I'll explain next. And I don't know what the correct answer is. It's either. Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib. Rashidi Talib. That Rashida Tlaib is a basketball player, right? Yeah. And that ain't what was sitting at the State of the Union address last. Yeah. It was Omar and Rashida Tlaib of Michigan and Minnesota, not necessarily in that order, who the tag team of Omar and Talib were standing up there and yelling, you killed Americans. You should be ashamed of yourself. Shame on. you and doing all that. That's funny. We still hear about, and we have in the collective consciousness in this country, the name Joe Wilson, right? A man who one time during President Obama's address said, you lie. And during one of his address, and people, they have hung that around that man for decade plus later.

Yet these two stood there like crying babies throwing a temper tantrum during the State of the Union address and were yelling, you lie, you should be ashamed of yourself, you killed America, and wouldn't shut up. Now, they didn't get kicked out, but my man Al did. Yeah, well, he started right in with a sign. Yeah, he had a sign that said black people aren't apes, the Texas Democrat once again. I. Yeah. I'll do this again. Okay. Got kicked out again. With his cane. I'll never see this speech to the end. Very good. That's all right with me. No, no, no, no, please. That's enough. He gave the, too far. He gave the Democratic response and got tossed out right at the beginning. Yikes. All right, we'll work on that throughout the day. I need a new ear to run now. The 1110 KFAB certified transmission sports brief. Jim Rose. Basketball tonight, Nebraska versus Maryland. The Terrapins lost all of their good players from last year. When Kevin Willard was removed as the head coach, and a lot of them went to the NBA, including Derek Queen, who is the Big Ten freshman at the year. And their record reflects that. Four and 12 in the Big Ten conference this year coming into the Pinnacle Bank Arena. Take on the top ten Huskers. Coach Fred Hoyberg is now starting to reflect on the season. And he says, you know, he's been in this a long time, never had a team more mature than this one. You know, it's really fun to have a team. that is all about the right things and comes to work. They're unselfish. They play extremely hard. They're on the first of floor for the most part. We've won the 50-50 battle, I think. You know, for the most part, all season long, even though we're giving up size and athleticism. And it's just their daily approach. I think that's the biggest thing that I've been impressed with this group is how they come in and how they work. And now there's no distractions. So they're trying to have a big finish. They're going to try to win this one after the win over Penn State and then go out to the... California and try to at least get a split against USC and now resurgent UCLA. Come back home against Iowa. Braden Frager, the redshirt freshman from Lincoln, is a key guy, and Fred says he's rounding back into shape. It's good to see him back. He told me he's feeling almost all the way back to 100% going into that last game, and I think he saw that in the result with how he played. So that's as much as anything. It's just how he feels. When you feel right physically, the game is a hell of a lot easier. Yeah, he was wearing that wishing boot after the turned ankle, and it affected his knee because he was favoring the ankle, and that made his knee sore, but apparently he's okay. Jays are going to have to go on a magical run in the tournament, the big East tournament to get into the NCAA tournament. Now the speculation is. If you looked at the State of the Union address last night and watched for hockey players, you were scanning that crowd looking for Jake Ginzel of UNO. He was a member of the gold medal winning team. He's now with the Tampa Bay Lightning. He wasn't there. It's not because he doesn't like the president, but he's a committed professional. He needed to rest down in Tampa after the wild part. that the team did on two continents. And since the NHL season resumes tonight, Ginzel said, yeah, I could go to the State of the Union. Yeah, I could go to the White House, but I need to stay home and earn the check that the Tampa Bay Lightning is paying me. That said, Jake, you need to know the chances to go to the Oval Office and chances to go to the State of the Union address and get noted a shoutout from the podium. They don't happen all the time. This is something that you may regret down through the years if you never get invited to the White House again. Then again, if Tampa Bay captures the championship, they probably will. This is a KETV reporter out in the streets there at 67th and Pacific. Talking with a guy who lives in the area and suddenly wondered what the heck was going on outside his house. I just drove by here not 10 minutes before it happened and went to my house and noticed our water pressure was like super low and just like looked out the window and saw police rushing to the scene. So it happened pretty quick. I think they were sitting still the way that their cars kind of like sank down into the ground. Lucy, you're the time saver traffic expert here. Where can we expect here this morning? To have another sinkle? The next street to open up and swallow a truck and a car. That I cannot predict, but my guess would be any place. Yeah. How scary would that be? I mean, a lot of sinkles, when they open up, they fill with water. You usually hit a line. Well, I think we can be thankful. It's a funny picture, but I think we can be thankful that the cars were not moving. Because in many cases, they do move, and they just, or the sinkhole happens and you drive right into them because you have no time to change. But they were sitting right there at the intersection, and then suddenly, and they're down there. But if they're driving into that sinkhole, they could have had serious injuries. Yeah, this happens in the middle of the night. You can't see what's going on. You drive right into it. And now it's like.

a front end collision. One of the guys who was there in the sinkhole said, I thought I got rear-ended from behind until I looked out my windshield and saw the sky. Yeah. Here we thought that sinkholes were confined to downtown, but no. Downtown alleys, but no, they're even on a well-traveled midtown thoroughfare-like Pacific near ex-arbon. Another example of urban creep. So, Lucy, what would you do? You're sitting there at the stoplight. All of a sudden, your car is at a different angle. You're like, I... Can I open my door? How do I get out of here? Did I just fall into the earth? Was it the guy next to me? Hang on. I'm talking to losing. Hang on. I'm taking pictures. I'm taking video. I'm posting it before people are trying to rescue me. No, no, no, no. Wait, wait, wait. I've got to post my video. Yeah, you're going to turn it into an endorsement for like one of those rope ladders or like a, what are those Batman utensils where you can get yourself out of there. It was a two cars there at the stoplight right where that Elmwood Park comes over and goes to Exarbon Village. So you're driving through, you've got the golf course left and right of you. U&O is back to your right. And Exarbon Village in front of you, this is off the two cars that were westbound on Pacific. They're the ones that got swallowed up. Was it Westbound? Yeah. Yeah, it was. Yeah, because the pictures here have Exarbon Village over to their left, so they've got to be going here. But you can still go north and south on that pretty main thoroughfare here in Midtown if you're going through the park and getting from like the dorms over at Exarbon Village over to campus. That's still open. Is that 68th then? Yeah. Because it's closed from 68th to 60th, so that makes sense if you can go through it. Right, but north and south is open. 68th, then once you cross Pacific.

Now you're in Elmwood Park Boulevard, if that's what it's called. I just call it, let's see who's golfing today, drive by Elmwood Park. Well, if there was a sinkhole there, I mean, wouldn't that kind of indicate there might be some other holes ready to open? I mean, what's going on there? When will we get this information? What caused it? But a sinkhole is usually caused by a water main break, right? Yeah. It loosens all of the dirt underneath the concrete. Yeah. But there wasn't a lot of water in it, though, was it? Right, no. So where's the water main break? And to Lucy's point, if there's not a bunch of water in there, what caused it? I hope they don't have to wait as long as the people on 16th Street. That's still not full right. Really? I don't think so. That's not good. So if it wasn't caused by a broken water main. then what did cause it, and where else is it going to happen here in town? Or do we have a large army of moles that are working under the streets of Omaha? It's moles and voles. Yeah, mole. We've been overrun by moles and voles. And they're 10 feet tall. And they are voracious. They eat constantly all the dirt, which will very much compromise our streets. So what's next? 680? Tremors. It says giant worms. Ding yourself. Those molds and voles, when they get organized, they become really tough to handle. You can also go beetle juice on that one, Lucy. Sandworms, right? You hate them. I hate them myself. I'm not familiar with that. Beetlejuice. We got giant worms and moles and grubs, giant grubs underneath the streets, just devouring dirt and loosening the gravel there so that the streets. I think, though, that we're okay. I don't think we'll have another big... sinkhole open up and swallow anything until the first day the streetcar is in operation and then bang it's all going to go right in there. The other possibility is a jail break from the juvenile detention center. They started digging their way, sort of Shawshank Redemption, started digging their way underneath. They lost their map and they wound up on Pacific Street when they really wanted to go east for amnesty in Iowa. They should have taken a left turn at Albuquerque. My theory on the sinkholes. is it's all the internalized negativity and hatred from the blue dot areas.

creating an underground void kind of like stranger things. I believe Scott would know what I'm talking about. So that's how we fix it. We got to find the wormhole that's connecting the two dimensions of the blue dot hatred void. And we just got to sever that thing every day, guys. Yeah, that's the upside down. We'll get Hopper and L and the rest of the crew there to... I'm confused. I thought the blue dot meant a swinger. Well, see, that's what I thought, too, and I was told that it did not mean those things. He's implying it's political. I thought that if you have a blue dot in your yard, that means you're in an open marriage. That's right. It's the upside down, swallowing cars. Yeah, who would be Vecna in this instance? Immediately words have meaning. We're immediately electing Democrats. No. Says, we'll check Trump's power however they can. If you're angry about what you heard tonight and you're ready to help prevent another two years of Trump's unchecked cruelty, we're asking you to pitch in $7 tonight. Funny what people were angry about in last night's speech. So tonight I'm inviting every legislature to join with my administration in reaffirming a fundamental principle. If you agree with this statement. Then stand up and show your support. The first duty of the American government is to protect American citizens, not illegal aliens. This was... A Jane Fonda workout video level of applause that went on for nearly two minutes last night. And the Democrats were not part of that applause line. You did hear from them because it was right after that when Talib and Omar started yelling, you should be ashamed to yourself and you killed Americans and all the rest of this stuff. That was the true Democratic response last night. Sitting there for the line. We need to protect Americans, not illegal aliens, and just sitting there, me. Right. You know, that's the Democratic response. Jim, this president does an incredible job of putting Democrats on their heels and asking them to defend what many Americans feel is the indefensible. It has been the signature of his political career. He has been able to draw a line between us and them better than any president since Ronald Reagan.

and maybe better than Ronald Reagan. Reagan was an iron fist covered by a velvet glove. This guy takes the velvet glove off every day. He fights and scratches and counterpunches constantly against his political and business enemies. And it's one of the reasons he's wildly successful and wildly popular. It's one of the reasons he dates supermodels and marries them. But what we have in front of us today is a clear, in an election year, an important election year, because if the Democrats take over the House of Representatives, here come the impeachment articles all over again for two years. And if for some reason they get a hold of the United States Senate, then we got real trouble. But this president has found a way to capture the American spirit. And last night was about patriotism. Last night was about giving back to the country. He spent a little bit of time on policy and a little bit of time on Iran, but mostly it was everybody wrap yourselves in the flag and be damn proud to do it. Whether it was introducing the United States hockey team, they just won the gold medal. or the National Guardsman who rescued 160 little girls in a rainstorm in Texas last year, or the 100-year-old World War II veteran, or any of the other heroes in this country. He said, this is our country. You have to love our country. And those people over there, the Democrats, they don't love the country. And now, that's not necessarily true. It's probably unfair depiction. But the pictures and the images are unmistakable. He says, We're on your side. They're not. Right. Well, of course, Maga Republicans and Trump himself have been called Hitler and Nazis and domestic terrorists and, you know, killers, murderers, all that stuff here for several years. That's how this goes. But it's up to the American people to look at something where the president is saluting a girl who's trying to learn how to walk after being in an accident because someone who should not have been in this country and should not have been given a commercial driver's license. plows right through everybody, slams into her car, and now this girl is trying to walk, and she's struggling to stand proudly before here, and the Democrats are just sitting there. That's an ugly scene. Now, you mentioned some of the policy and all the rest of that stuff. We've got Fox News Radio's, Tanya J. Powers, joining us next for her assessment of what she heard on that front and in the Democratic response that's next here on 1110 KFAB. We have achieved a transformation like... No one has ever seen before. And a turnaround for the ages. It is indeed a turnaround for the ages. That was the State of the Union last night. Heard here on 1110 KFAB with our coverage from Fox News Radio. And now Fox News Radio's Tanya J. Powers joins us here. Tanya, we've been talking a lot about some of the big applause lines and the yelling and all that stuff. But the president offered up a lot of meat in the middle part of the speech when it comes to domestic. policies. What did you hear that may resonate with the American people today?

Well, obviously the big thing was the economy. That was probably the, I think, the largest thing that a lot of people probably wanted to hear about a lot. He said that repeatedly that rising costs are no longer a problem. He said the roaring economy is roaring like never before. He said millions and millions of Americans are all gaining. He pointed to the lower cost of gas. He pointed to prescription drug prices, stock market. on the rise. It is a contrast because his polling numbers kind of across the board have recently, you know, been plummeting on the economy. He's only 39% of people who approve of his handling of the economy, according to the most recent AP Norc poll, and that's not the only one that has him doing pretty. on a downward fly. Let me put it that way on the economy. So I thought that part was pretty interesting. The fact that he also proposed... These, like 401K for everyone kind of account, this was a proposal to expand retirement savings to a lot of people who would also be able to even, you know, if they're, if they don't have access to a workplace plan for, you know, retirement, then, you know, people are a lot less likely to save for retirement. The information put out from the White House talks about how 44% of full-time American workers don't participate in a retirement plan and nearly 51% don't benefit from an employer match. This expansion of retirement savings would put a lot more people in the category of being able to save for retirement. Tough save when you're trying to make ends meet. And that is one of the things I found very interesting about the... speech was that proposal. You had the Trump accounts for babies. You had the 401K, a prescription drugs way down. You had a number of those proposals, Jim Rose. Well, the challenge, of course, Tanya, is this. When he was on the campaign trail, he said, I will lower your prices tomorrow for getting the detail, which is, yes, the inflation rate peaked at 14% under Joe Biden, which means if something cost a dollar, it was a dollar 14. in 2021, and then $1.28, and then a dollar above. You see the trend. Well, the unemployment, the inflation rate is down, but prices aren't down because they were so much higher when he took over. And he led people to believe gas is $2.50 a gallon right now. It'll be $2 a gallon when I take over. So he's really a victim of his own rhetoric. The question becomes now, how can he convey a message that? Hey, look, it was really, really rough, and we're doing better. Give us another couple of years. Yeah, and did Governor Abigail Spanberger orate that last night?

Yeah, that is one of the things that she, as well as the other Democrats, especially in the run up here to the midterms, that is one of the things they have been talking about probably with some success, the affordability stuff, as you mentioned, you know, you can tell people, and he did campaign on that. He said, the first day, the prices are going down. Things are going to get so much better. You're going to pay so much less for, you know, your groceries and your mortgage and all the things that you have to buy. And it's been, you know, more than a year later, and people are like, hey, when are my cheaper groceries coming? That is something that, you know, that message is something that he has kind of struggled with as the poll numbers reflect. It's also something that the Republicans have been trying to get him to talk about is affordability, because that's what Democrats are kind of hammering. And in the run-up to the midterms, that is going to be a key issue, obviously. Abigail Spanberger, their Virginia governor, had the Democratic rebuttal. to his speech last night. And it was kind of the same thing that we've heard before, but it really was a pointed message. And she said that families are still struggling under his policies. You know, she basically asked Americans, is life better under Trump? She, you know, that is one of the things that we hear a lot from. people who are running for offices, especially president, are you better off now than you were four years ago? I mean, that is, you know, kind of that dates decades back. You know, and it is a big question. That is what a lot of voters think when they go to the polls is, am I doing better now than I was before I voted for this person the last time? Nine months for both sides to make their case. Tanya J. Powers, great conversation as always. Thank you very much for the time today. Sure. From Fox News Radio here on Nebraska's Morning News. We have heard a lot from President Trump here this morning. I said that the Democrat response last night was not, in fact, given by Governor Abigail Spanberger of the Commonwealth. Instead, it was Congresswomen Talib and Omar, who were yelling at the president during the speech, say, you killed Americans. You should be ashamed. And of course, Al Green of Texas, not the singer, but the Congressman, Democrat in Texas, got himself booted out just like he did a year ago. This time he wasn't standing there waving his cane around. He was holding a sign criticizing the president for the recent video that... I don't, it's still not clear to me whether the president posted a video that in, in that video, showed the Obama's as apes. I've seen evidence that it was a freeze frame from the next video up. I don't know, but Congressman Green stood there with a sign that said, black people aren't apes. Congressman, I agree. Thank you for your sign and write this way, sir. So that was the real Democrat response last night. Just sitting there while the president is honoring great Americans and talking about how prices are coming down. And this is America's 250th birthday celebration this year and the Democrats sitting there with a sour look on their face. That's the true response. But to be fair,

Her unfair and imbalanced, here's a bit from the actual official response. It was Governor Abigail Spanberger of Virginia. Our broken immigration system is something to be fixed, not an excuse for unaccountable agents to terrorize our communities. And then? Our president has sent poorly trained federal agents into our cities. where they have arrested and detained American citizens and people who aspire to be Americans. And they have done it without a warrant. Yeah, that's a lot of what she was pointing out last night. I thought the whole argument was supposed to be affordability, and affordability and affordability. And do you feel better? But the prices are coming down. Have you seen the price of Arugula lately, President Obama? But... Yeah, the prices are coming down and the president's saying we've got 401Ks and we've got Trump accounts for babies, prescription drug coverage, health care. We've got a lot of different things here coming for you. And she's like, but ice. And by the way. Classy moved by Rashida Tlaib last night. Venezuela, yeah. Yeah. She had a button on that had a foul word followed by ice on it, blank ice. Right there. Right there, you can see a nice big button that said a word that rhymes with duck ice. Yes, thank you. And that was really cool. She's a real class act. Here's the challenge. It wasn't puck either. We had the hockey team there. That would have been good. I think of something else. Your imagination will deliver for you. This is really, really hard to believe. But if you just look at the results. And again, the president's problem is his own rhetoric. He made promises he could not possibly keep on the campaign trail. It got him more votes than Kamala Harris. It got him all the swing states, but now he has to deliver. And he said things that were really outrageous during the campaign relative to affordability in prices and prices coming down. What he should have said is, I will bring the inflation rate down on day one. I will close the border on day one. I will do this. Instead, he said, your prices will come down. Well, he can't, he can't. He can't affect local property taxes, which are killing people, especially in big cities. He can't address the cost of property casualty insurance on your car and your house, which has gone up 30%. He can't address the insurance costs you pay through your employer, which has gone up 15 to 20%. He can't affect college, how much it costs to go to college, which is really causing trouble for families of four with kids.

So he's really a victim of his own words, and they have allowed the Democrats to say, well, he made all these promises, and he's not delivering because he's too busy running up to people's houses and yanking folks out and locking them up and la, da, da. So the problem for the Democrats is that they are seen as hateful Americans. They are seen as people. He has very skillfully portrayed them as people who hate the country. They don't stand up for everyday Americans. They stand up for illegal aliens. They stand up for LGBTQs. They stand up for men who think they're women and want to play on the high school volleyball team. This is their constituency. And the country won't tolerate that. The country thinks illegals should not be here. They think illegals should be protected and supported. So it's a contrast in two different Americas. We're not spending $60 plus for a tank of gas. Gas prices that peaked at $6 a gallon. Down to three. Actually, it's lower than that, like 220 something. Yeah, gas is a commodity. Yeah, it's a commodity like food prices. It's going to go up and down it all around. But it's the institutional cost of living that's the problem, health care costs. And he's working on that. But, you know, we have a huge, huge industrial complex involving health care in this country, and you can't unwind that in six, seven hundred days. Six, seven. You know, whatever it may be. The thing that is affecting people the most today are health care costs. and the institutional costs of just living. And like I talked about, health insurance, property insurance, paying for your kids college, food prices are a factor, energy prices are a factor. Look at your electric bill. Look at your water bill. Yeah, you know what he said about that last night? He wants those big data centers to build their own...

He says he's not a politician, but he is the furthest thing from apolitical. He's one of the most politically skilled presidents we've ever had. You all know that? Everybody knows it. He was running out of gas last night, too. Right, Scott? That's right. He's starting to show his age. He works very hard. It's obvious that he's a tireless schedule. He really needs about a week off. He needs... He'll never take it. I don't know when he sleeps. He'll never take it, but he looks tired. You heard his voice start to really weaken as the speech went on him. He was pretty late in the night. And unlike Biden, I don't think he takes shots of vitamin E just to be able to stand up straight. A couple of emails here, Ryan says. To be clear, Trump said we need to protect Americans first, as it should be. That doesn't mean illegals won't be taken care of while in the USA putting other countries first. And there are a lot of pictures from that state of the union that are going to get reverberated on social media and that are going to be a big part of their message in the midterm. I loved listening to it on the radio here on 1110 KFAB last night, driving back from a basketball game in Bellevue. I listened to a long swath of it, and I wasn't distracted by who was or wasn't standing up. Glad we had that here on this radio station. Apparently, if you ever exchanged emails with Jeffrey Epstein, you can't. do anything ever again anymore, except, of course, host The View. But former governor, Senator Bob Kerry, a step down from a board, an energy board he was on because he was exchanging emails and trying to get money for the new school in 2013, I think, was March 2013. And this was after the 2008. A guilty plea on soliciting prostitution from a minor by Jeffrey Epstein. A few years later, Kerry says, well, I knew he did time and he still had money and the school needed money, so I met him. I don't believe he ever did time. It's not what he said. Look, this is. He did. Yeah, Epstein did time. After that 2008 conviction? Yeah. Yeah, you're about that. Okay.

Look, this is the situation. Bob Kerry was in the business of raising money for a university at the time. And Jeffrey Epstein was a very, very fat target for that kind of thing in New York City. And quite candidly, if the metric for having lunch with people in New York City is you have to have a clean criminal record, there are a lot of single lunches out there. I think that this is much ado about nothing relative to Kerry. He was fingered by the Nebraska GOP. He's given small amounts of money to various candidates, both in Nebraska and outside of Nebraska. And he was called upon by the Nebraska GOP to certainly those individuals to turn that money back to carry or donated to charity, which John Brett Kavanaugh did do. He's a candidate for the... United States House. And this monolith is an energy company in Lincoln. And Kerry says, look, they all got panicky over this Epstein stuff. And he said, I'm not going to be a part of a board of directors that's that soft, essentially. But this is about creating an issue. that is unfortunate. In my view, the Nebraska GOP needs to worry about getting Republicans elected and forget about a 70, nearly 80-year-old man now. I don't hear the Republicans making a case about Kerry. And if anything, I think probably looking at this going, well, he said I had a meeting from the CEO and the provost of a startup, the university I was working with, and so we met with the guy. And then there were some emails and, of course, requests for money and so forth. But I didn't have a personal relationship with it. with him. And so I'll step down from this board. So it says to avoid any impact with the company's work. It's a Lincoln-based energy company called Monolith. Monolith. Not monorail, but monolith. The Nebraska GOP needs to worry about getting a Republican elected in Lincoln. Well, I don't think the GOP cares about this. I don't know who does. The Nebraska GOP came out with a statement about caring.

Yeah, here's how we repair that giant sinkhole, which if you're just joining us and you're like, what are you guys talking about? This is at 67th and Pacific. A couple of cars are westbound on Pacific at right there where you can either turn right into Elmwood Park or turn left into Exarbon Village. And they're deciding to go straight. They're going westbound on Pacific. They're at the light, and suddenly the ground gives out under their cars. You had a car and a truck, and both of them end up at now what had been their level with the street. Now they're more of a 45-degree angle. I went down three, four feet. And they're staring up at the sky now, according to the drivers saying, yeah, I thought I got rear-ended, and then I look up, and there's the sky. There had been. the, you know, Pacific Street, 72nd Street landscape in front of me, but now I'm looking right at the sky. I thought I was getting ready for takeoff there. So... What was I saying? Why did it? Oh, that's what happened. Right. Who's going to pay for it? So now how they're going to fix it, it's just like with the rest of the potholes around town. First, you do the cold patch in these seasons. We're going to cold patch and sinkle. Then you come over with the hot patch. I think they're going to do a little more excavation work. Well, the first thing they need to do is find out how it happened. Was there some broken? It usually involves water. It usually involves water getting under the cement and washing away what had been the underpack of either dirt or rock or gravel or whatever. So they got to find out why it happened. And then who fixes it? Well, if it was a water main break...

MUD is going to be involved. If there was underground, there was some sort of compromise from underground power cables, then OPPD gets involved. But at the end of the day, it's public works. It's the city of Omaha. You pay for it, I pay for it. It's our responsibility because it's going to be tax money one way or the other. It's either going to be tax money. It's going to be user fees. It's going to be customer fees. It's going to be something. I don't know how expensive this sinkhole to be, but it probably won't be cheap. Could have been a drone strike. No. I don't think the cars would still be around if it was drone strike. I don't know. Very surgical. It should be concerning because that is not an old part of town by comparison to downtown. That has seen a lot of development in the last 20 years because you had FDR right next door to the south and then Exarbon Village. So... That's something that may be a little more concerning than just any sinkhole, which usually is right near a water lane or a creek. Right. It could have been, it's not too far from some of the underground tunnels. Could be homeless people living in there building campfires. Underground tunnels. Brian says, under Pacific. Yeah, I don't know. Brian says, I told you earlier this week that bridge fire in Lincoln was probably started by the homeless and they just said in Lincoln. It started from a campfire under that bridge. It is not. It is not a nice thing to let people live out on the streets. Steel bridge. Cold temperatures. Please stop letting people do that. So, yeah, it could be homeless people under there. Now, there is, of course, the Papio Creek there a little bit further west of the accident or the sinkhole. But, you know, they would have to do a lot of digging. to compromise the dirt that far away. I don't know. We're just trying, we're spitballing. There are no bad ideas in a brainstorming session. On the state of the union, the captain emails says, God bless President Donald J. Trump, as he was full of class honoring all the great Americans he did. And the next sound of explosions you hear will not be from a drone strike. That's the sound of Blue Daughter's heads exploding at what Captain just said. He goes on and says, as the whole left side of... The, you know, except for that senator from Pennsylvania, they're all American hating traitor trash. And lastly, those two evil women, Omar and Talib, are disgraceful and disgusting. Omar should be deported. I don't think it works that way. No. And Holly would like you to stop using the term fingered on the radio. Said it once. Yeah. Said it once? You said it a couple times this week. I'm sorry. Well, you're talking about, you know, being pointed at, being fingered. Yeah, they fingered the guy. It's a copse. It's a fairly common term. We're just talking about. Sorry, Holly, that's not our intention. Now, we talked about Democrats who hate the country. And it's not fair to characterize every Democrat who hates the country. John Fetterman, for example, Democrat Senator of Pennsylvania, stood up quite a bit last night. He stood up when they talked about the guy that bombed the Iranian nuclear site.

He stood up and clapped for some of the heroes, the military heroes and the National Guard heroes who were acknowledged by the president. Not every Democrat hates the country. Why don't you stand up a walk over with the conservatives here, John? Why not? It's a legitimate question. They tried to get Joe Manchin to become a Republican. He kept the filibuster alive and he kept the Supreme Court and he kept Puerto Rico from becoming a state because he wouldn't side with the Democrats when they own the... Senate. Why don't you, John Fetterman, stand up there, walk over with the Republicans and be a good conservative like Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski. Yeah. In other news, away from the State of the Union or the sinkhole, police in Maryland. Now, this is Silver Spring just north of D.C., the larger Washington, D.C. metro area. There was a deal there the other night where apparently a bunch of vehicles, and you do see this throughout Omaha quite a bit, just decided to take over, not like in Omaha, a parking lot to do burnouts and have a party there. They just decided to take over the middle of an intersection, kind of a big intersection. They're out there just doing donuts and burnouts and everything and having a great time right there in the middle of the street. Cars are coming up going, do I have to turn around? What's going on? So the cops show up, and it was almost like the guys who had just decided to take over the street were surprised by this. And they took exception to the cops. Now, here's the not funny part. This is, after all, in Maryland, where not far away in Baltimore, remember that protesters were given space to destroy. Cops show up and they appear to be just sitting there in their cars, in their cruisers, as the criminals out there started smashing the police cruisers, smashing the windows, destroying the vehicles. And the cops were basically either getting out of the cars and moving out of the way or just sitting there as their windshields are getting smashed. What the hell is going on there?
