Oh, God, don't be sorry. You kidding me? No, I'm wrapped up in these meetings on peace. And I said, it's between peace and Sid Rosenberg. I said, let's take Rosenberg, okay? Washington, D.C., where President Trump has signed a bill to fund the Department of Homeland Security, bringing the agency shutdown to an end after 76 days. The House pushing the bill to the president's desk as emergency funding was close to running out. And the Empire Bureau Chief Brown McMillan has the details. The longest government shutdown in U.S. history finally coming to an end, with the House of Representatives approving a bill that the U.S. Senate had passed over a month ago. The bill passed by a voice vote only. with only a few dozen members of the House actually there to vote. The bill signed by President Trump funds almost all of the Department of Homeland Security, but not ICE or Border Patrol. This will relieve pressure from the Department of Homeland Security. Secretary Mullen, who I've spoken to in the last couple of hours, will be greatly relieved. The president will, the administration will. Minority leader Hakeem Jeffries is issuing a statement this afternoon saying, quote, for more than two months, Donald Trump and House Republicans have kept the Department of Homeland Security shut down because of their toxic demand to spend billions of taxpayer dollars on ICE brutality. The extremists back down. Airline passengers probably won't see much of a difference because the president had recently signed an order allowing TSA agents to be paid through the shutdown. Still, passengers we spoke with had a lot to say about what the shutdown says about the current state of our politics. It was very disappointing that it held out for so long and really jeopardized a lot of things, hurt a lot of people. Mr. Yankan people out of the Congress that are doing this stuff. I don't care. Get rid of the party lines. Let's go liberal. Let's go moderate. Let's go conservative. Get rid of Democrat. Get rid of Republican. Be done with it. Maybe some of this crap will stop. Even though TSA agents are getting paid, the Department of Homeland Security said those emergency funds were close to running out perhaps as early as next week. As for ICE and Border Patrol, Republicans are planning on funding them through a process called reconciliation, which will require no Democratic support. We have an update of Fox News Alert for you. President Trump posting on his truth social account this, quote, I am pleased to announce that I am nominating Dr. Nicole Sapphire to be the next Surgeon General of the United States of America. Nicole is a star physician who has spent her career guiding women facing breast cancer through their diagnosis and treatment while tirelessly advocating to increase early cancer detection and prevention. While at the same time.

working with men and women on all other forms of cancer diagnoses and treatments. She is also an incredible communicator who makes complicated health issues more easily understood by all Americans. Dr. Nicole Sapphire will do great things for our country and help make America healthy again. You probably heard me through that whole recitation, grinning as I am, because we love the doctor. And what an incredible honor. And that was my honor to read that breaking news on air. Congratulations, Dr. Sapphire. Well, Governor Kathy Hochul meeting the prominent New York City business leader, who Zohran Mamdani mentioned in a video when trying to build support for his idea of a pietta tear tax. Foxley's Morgan, Morgan, I imagine this was a huge topic in today's meeting. You're exactly right, Stephen Natasha. We don't have too many details just yet, but we do know that they did discuss taxes. Governor Kathy Hogle meeting with billionaire and Citadel founder Ken Griffin. But we do know also that Griffin walked into that meeting with a lot of frustration over being personally attacked, as he described, by Mayor Zohran Mamdani. Like for this penhouse. Which hedge fund CEO Ken Griffin bought for $238 million. This pier-to-ter tax is specifically designed for the richest of the rich. It was this video that sparked immediate backlash from hedge fund CEO Ken Griffin, who was worth an estimated $50 billion, as Momboni used his penthouse as a backdrop for his video about Governor Kathy Hochul's proposed pieter tax on second homes worth more than $5 million in the city. Now, Citadel is threatening to pull a planned $6 billion redevelopment project here in Manhattan. Griffin, along with other business leaders, met with Governor Hokel to discuss taxes and more. The bill language or the Pietitare tax has yet to be written, but state lawmakers hope to have a deal within the next few weeks. Hokel's team says they expect the tax to generate around $500 million annually. But a report from the city comptroller's office warns revenue could actually be much lower, closer to $340 million. Here's more on what Griffin said about this tax this week. I think the willingness of the mayor of New York to make this a pilot. A policy debate, a personal attack just demonstrated a profound lack of judgment. I'm meeting with the governor Thursday. Okay, you'll figure it out. And we'll talk about our future direction in New York. Here's the real question. Is New York going to put their fiscal house to order and run itself from a position of a strong government that's pro-business? Or are they looking to play... Why do the Americans think we can do socialism? Now, Zohran Mamdani's team pushing back slightly on the Comptroller's report that estimates that revenue generated from the Pietitare tax will be much lower than predicted. Zohran Mamdani's team saying that this new report highlights how important crafting this legislation will be when it comes to making sure that these second homes can't skirt this additional tax.

The NYPD says that it busted a car theft ring that targeted more than 250 people in the Bronx, Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens. From August 2024 to June 2025, they say these men stole car parts and vehicles worth more than a million dollars with speed and precision dubbing this case, Operation Pit Crew. Alice Gainer shows us the video and speaks with one of the victims. How fast police say these men work to remove the tires from this SUV. Like a race car pit crew in the dead of night. Bubba Wallace here from 2311 racing. You know what's slower than a pace car? Waiting at the car wash. That's when I fire up Chumba Casino. It turns those slow minutes into fast fun. With new games every week, you'll never get bored. Next time you're stuck in the slow lane, speed up with Chumba. Play now at chumbacasino.com. Let's Chumba. Sponsored by Chumba Casino. No purchase necessary. VGW Group Voidware prohibited by law. 21 plus. Terms and conditions apply. When I saw some of this, it was like you're looking at the F1 movie. The NYPD Commissioner says it was all about supply and demand for these alleged thieves. These vehicles, mostly Honda and Toyota sedans and SUVs, were targeted not because their tires and rims were the most valuable, but because they were the most common. Tires, rims, catalytic converters, and vehicles totally more than $1.2 million, police say was sold on Facebook Marketplace or in person. There are 200. 52 victims, hardworking New Yorkers. We spoke with one victim who did not want to appear on camera, but said the damage to his car cost 10 grand. It was gut-wrenching. Came out from working all night and then noticing that my tires were gone on the car and had no way of getting home. The Bronx DA says 16 people with alleged ties to the Trinotario Street Gang have been indicted.

8:15

971 counts indictment. Most have been arrested and arraigned on charges like auto stripping, grand larceny and conspiracy, but police say they are still searching for four more men. The NYPD says when it comes to your car tires, use locking lug nuts. If they see that lug nut, that lock nut on the car, they'll just move on to another car. In the Bronx, Alice Garner, CBS News, New York. Good advice there. During one of the search of the defendant's home, police say they found guns, ammo, and over $100,000 in cash stuffed in a suitcase. It convicted, the suspects face up to 15 years behind bars. The New York City Council has passed a package of bills aimed at combating vaccine misinformation and expanding access to shots across the city. The measures require the health department to work with schools to distribute clear information to parents about how vaccines work, their safety, and where to get them. Another bill calls for a citywide public education campaign targeting childhood and teen vaccines. The push comes as vaccine policies and messages. have drawn increased national attention, including from the Trump administration and federal health officials. Well, the Knicks will advance to the second round for the fourth straight year, courtesy of one of the most dominant performances in NBA playoff history. In a game they led by as many as 61, they win by 51. Everybody, and welcome to the Mike Francis, the podcast, part of the Bet Rivers Network. We come here this evening as the Knicks have eliminated, embarrassed, destroyed, disseminated, just by limb by limb, taking apart the hawks this evening. moved on in the east. And it looks like right now, although there's a lot of time left in the third quarter, but the Celtics maybe head before game seven. And so the Knicks will have to see we put their feet up in wait and see what happens. Now, I've seen a lot of NBA games in my life. I did a lot of NBA games. I was at the... I was at the Memorial Day Massacre, Celtics and Lakers in the finals, when, you know, the Celtics ran to the Lakers, right out of the building, and then we hung around until Thursday night when everyone was written off Kareem, and then he came back with a huge game and tied the series at one apiece. I remember the Portland Games. against the sixes in the finals that were one-sided, but nothing, nothing in a playoff game like I've ever seen tonight. I have never seen a surge like that in the first half of an NBA playoff game in my entire life. I mean, this game boarded, it was 72 to 22 with 439 left in the first half. 72 to 22. So obviously the second half was meaningless.

11:09

What do you take from this game? Listen, the Knicks turned the corner in this series, took over the series, did it in a dominant fashion, did it with their defense. OG has never played better. I think this is the best basketball he's ever played in his life in this series. Towns played well. And tonight they even got a rebirth from Bridges who had 16 points at the half. You know, it's funny, I've been dying to start this show with this Jay-Z Alicia Key song for a long time. Because I do like this song, I do. Not a big rap guy, as you know, but I do like this song. But for me, this song represents good in New York. And we really haven't had a good story in New York. I don't know. I've been here for 10 years for like seven years. So I've been dying to play this song and what did it take? God forbid the mayor does something well for this city. God forbid the wretched governor does something well for this state. No. Has nothing to do with politics because politics is a complete nightmare here in New York. Complete nightmare. It took the New York Knickerbockers. And like Mike Brancessa, who, of course, I've worked with for many years at WFAN. I did the midday show for five years, hosted that with both Jody McDonald and Joe Beningo right before. Mike and the Mad Dog, Mike Bressor, Christopher Mad Dog Russo, after doing sports that I missed for five years. Like Mike said, man, I've watched a lot of NBA. I turned 59 last Sunday. I don't ever remember a game like this. Not even Lakers, Celtics, or Portland, Philadelphia. I was way too young to remember that. This was unbelievable. 72 to 22 in the second quarter than my son Gabriel, who loves the Knicks. Gabe is a pretty knowledgeable sports fan. He can tell you about a lot of teams, a lot of sports, but his love by far is an ex. Yankees come in second. And he runs downstairs and he goes, Daddy, Daddy, Daddy, look at this. And he shows me his phone. And it reads, Nick's 86, Hawks, 35. I've never seen anything like that. I mean, they all played well. Mike's right. O.G. Nenobie was terrific. Towns had a real good series. Bridges had a great first half last night. He was not great during the series. I thought Josh Hart had an amazing game five in that second quarter.

13:56

But you know how the series went, right? At one point, the Knickerbockers lost two games by one point. They had the final possession in both games. They came up short. So here we were a couple of days ago with the highly favored Knicks down two games to one to the Hawks. And I had Stephen A. Smith on this show a week ago today, the great Stephen A, big Nick fan too. And it was 2-1 Atlanta. And I said, you know the happiest guy in the world is right now? Former Nick coach Tom Tibido. Tom had the Knicks, two wins away from the NBA finals, and the Knicks fired him. It made no sense. But it did, of course, when you find out that sports is not just about results. These guys have to be together all day, every day. And when the players and management don't like the coach, then he's got to go. And fans don't understand that. They go, yeah, but, yeah, but no, yeah, buts. You got to work with somebody every day you don't like. Whether the results are good or not, it ain't going to work. So even though Tibido did a really good job with the team, everybody told me he became impossible to work with. But with that said, with the Knicks trailing the Loly Hawks, who's young, they're athletic, they're not good, okay? They're down two games to one. Timidot must be smiling ear to ear. And Mike Brown, very cool before game four says, look, here's what I told my guys. This is not a best of five. We are not facing an elimination game in game four. This is a best of seven. In other words, there's plenty of time. We're not down three-nothing. We're not basing elimination. We've got to play good basketball. That's it. And the next three games, the Knicks blew the doors off the Hawks. Atlanta at that point was never competitive in this series again. Double-digit wins in games four. Five and a 51-point win, led by as many as you heard Mike Breen say, as 61 in game six. Never seen anything like it. Have you known? The Knicks have found their groove, of course, right at the right time, and I wouldn't want to play them next, whether I was the Sixers or the Celtics. No. Well, that's another shocking series because we had Joe Beningo on this show yesterday. He's a sports legend. He knows more about sports than any of you out there. He's amazing. Still on the fan. And he keeps talking about how the Celtics are going to beat the Knicks. A Boston can't even beat Philly. I mean, the 76ers. without a couple of their big-time players. They're not a very good team to begin with. And that series now goes to a seventh and deciding game. Now, I can't see any scenario where the Celtics lose a game seven at home. So even if Boston wins, the fact that the 76ers took them to seven games.

17:07

You would think that bodes well up with the Knicks. Of course, it doesn't because when the next series starts, it doesn't matter what happened between New York and Atlanta and Boston and Billy. It's all about the matchups of that series, so you really can't place too much emphasis. Hey, it's Ryan Sechrist here. And if you're looking for some serious fun, head over to chumbacasino.com. At Chumba Casino, you can play all your favorite social casino style games for free anytime, anywhere. It's the most fun you can have on your phone or computer. No purchase necessary. VGW. Boy, we're prohibited by law. See terms and conditions. 21 plus. on how easy it was for the Knicks or how difficult it was for Boston. Now, if some miracle happens in the 76ers win a road game in game seven, most Nickmans would agree. That's even better. But when you look, to your point, Noam, the landscape of the Eastern Conference, the Pistons, number one seed, best team in the league all year long, all year long, did not play great down the stretch. And they're facing elimination in a game six against Orlando. They had to win game five just to stay alive. They've been very unimpressive. The Cavaliers, they go out and get Jimmy Hardin. They look terrible. I mean, they're winning their series against a Toronto team, three games to two. Point being, Detroit moves on. They don't look very good. Cleveland moves on. They don't look very good. Boston moves on. They've struggled. So, Noam, yes, of all the teams in the Eastern Conference, especially in their last three efforts, the Knicks look like roll beaters. Yeah, there's a path there. There's a real path. But, you know, as a Nick fan, I watched the first half of that game while I was lying in bed last night before I fell asleep. Ew. Were you naked? I was, yeah. Oh, God. So, um... Was your wife there? Was Pam there? No, she doesn't get... I mean, she gets into bed. She doesn't want to be the same bed. She gets in the hours later. God, you're so gross. After I'm definitely asleep. Sure. And, um, but even after fall, you know, because after a life, love, you know, most of my adult life being a Nick fan... Yeah, is that I went to sleep, I fell asleep, and I woke up at about 1.30 in this morning, and I thought, oh, they somehow blew this lead, even though they were out 40 points. You're not blowing 40 or 50 points. But they just built on that late. It was incredible, yeah. You know, talking about being a lifelong Nick fan, this douchebag mayor of ours, I know he's a Metman, that's true, he is. And we all know about the Mr. and Mrs. Methog and all that nonsense. that made me this rabid Yankee fan. In fact, I'll be back out the stadium Monday night for the fourth and final game of a set the Yankees star today against Peter Lonzo and the Orioles. Going with my boys taking me out my birthday, Keith Cantowitz, Mark Oranger. I'm going to be sitting in the legend seats. Randy Levine, once again, the president, I spoke to Randy again last night. He said, Sid, I don't care where your seats are in the stadium. You sit with me. You can't make it up. Randy Levine and I are like.

20:08

BFFs at this point. So I'll be there Monday for the, for the Yanks. But the, why I even mentioned the Yankees, I have no idea. What was I trying to say there, no? I don't know. I'm getting old. Comparing the Knicks to the Yankees, maybe? I don't know. Well, I know is, oh, I know why, because Zohran Mamdani is a Metban. So I go on Twitter at halftime of the Knit game, and I notice that this mayor actually tweets. In Knicks, we trust. Not in the Knicks, by the way. In Knicks, we trust. All right, I'm going to tell you what I wrote on Twitter this morning. It's all embarrassing. Are you ready for this? Yeah, I am. This is why people love my Twitter account. At Sid Rosenberg 19. If you're not following me on Twitter, you're missing a lot in your life. At Sid Rosenberg 19. So he puts in Knicks, we trust, with a big picture of a bunch of Nick players who are up by like 40 at the half. So I sent back, oh, Zohran Mamdani, do us all a favor and S-T-F-U. You know what that stands for, right? I go, now you're a Nick Pan? How are the Nick's ratings in Gaza? I'm sure you got a lot of response to that. Oh, I'm getting a lot of response already. 30 minutes in, the phone is blowing up. Is it all hate? Most of its hate, probably. No, not for me. Oh, God, never. No, I mean, from people who like Zohran Mamdani. Oh, of course. They hate this guy. They hate them. Normal, everyday, real New Yorkers. They hate Zohran Mamdani. I'm not talking about these dim-witted young girls on the ferry on the ory Manhattan who have orange hair and blue hair and hairy legs. I'm not talking about them. I'm not talking about these suckups in New York government that are scared the death of him. Normal New Yorkers, people I love, they hate this guy. They're not buying he's a Nick fan. Give me a break. He was in Uganda when Patrick Ewing was playing basketball here. Come on. Enough with this guy already. In Knicks, we trust. Not even in the Knicks. What kind of English is that? I don't know, but I feel like we're not getting past the next round because that's like a jinx. I know. Like it did in the Mets. Exactly right. And the Mets lost again yesterday. Had a 4-3 lead. The bullpen blew it. So don't look now, but the Mets in their last 20 games. have three wins. The Mets have a record of 10 wins and 21 losses. That is the worst record in Major League Baseball. Yeah, because the Phillies won yesterday. That's right. The Mets are the only 10-win team in Major League Baseball. The Yankees, who again start that four-game series against the Orioles tonight, on the flip side, the Yankees are 20 and 11. They're the only team in the American League playing better than 600 baseball. So Yankees are doing great. Best record in the American League. Metropolitan's worst record in Major League Baseball. Oh, God's kidding me. That was nice. No, I don't know. I got nauseous. Give me what's going on in the news. I got so many great guests. They're like seven of them. So. We've got to get to the other news quick here, Noam. What's going on? Yeah, I mean, you know, overseas, you know, there's a new threat from the president when it comes to Iran. He says he's tired of waiting for these, you know, peace talks to materialize. And now he's saying, you know, we might have to start up the war again. And then you have the Iranian leaders responding to that saying, hey, if you open up our ports, you know, which have been closed by the U.S., the U.S. has made it so nothing can get through, maybe we'll talk. But that, so now we have that impasse that continues there.

23:44

Otherwise, here locally, there was guns. Hold on it. Stick with Trump for a second. Somebody asked me today, they said, wait a second. President Trump signed a bill yesterday. Thank you, Mr. President. Lovely thing that he did. He signed a bill to end the 76-day DHS shutdown. He did. Okay. Why didn't he sign that bill 50 days ago? Why did we wait 76 days for some of these government workers to consider jumping out of buildings? I don't know the answer to this. I have no idea what, but they said, why would he do it 40 days ago, 50 days ago? Don't know the answer to that. I mean, I guess he wanted to see if the Democrats and Republicans could work it out. I don't know either. You know, when they're not funding ICE, again, why does the news even say that? ICE is funded through 2009. Yeah, it's separate. Right. Why do they keep mentioning ICE? It doesn't matter. As long as the TSA agents, so we can fly without airplanes running into each other, as long as Secret Service. who was the topic of conversations every day. You know, I know I've told you this before, but I woke up early Sunday morning. I texted the president of the United States. I said, I'm sorry this keeps happening to you. But I love you and so do most Americans and stay strong. That was 7.19 a.m. Sunday. I did not expect the president after the chaotic night the night before, but they try to kill him again to get right back to me. And he did three minutes later. And he made it a point in his text back to me after thanking me. He said, thank you said. To thank his Secret Service. So I was on with Greg Kelly yesterday and he's mad. He's not alone. Most of my guests blame the Secret Service. President Trump is not. He's not. And by the way, a lot of the same folks that are blaming Secret Service also are saying, yes, there were some lapses, but most of the folks that I speak to seem to think there was a bigger problem Saturday with the venue. In fact, that 3,000 hotel people were just kind of milling around, you know. And you see this video this morning. It's a much better video than what we saw Sunday of this idiot, Cole Allen, one of the worst plans I've ever seen. He's going to run with guns and knives past all these different secret service perimeters, make his way into the ballroom and kill somebody for a really smart guy. It was the dumbest plan I've ever seen. And the truth is, yes, he made it through the metal detector. But that was it. It wasn't like he got very, very close. to the president. He didn't. He was in the hotel. He went downstairs. There it was. So I'm not sure why the Secret Service is getting so much hate. They did, you know, kind of screw up a little bit. But it wasn't awful. It's only not comparable to Butler, Pennsylvania. So Trump came out again this morning.

26:47

and gave credit to the Secret Service. It seems to really anger some people, though. Yeah, well, ultimately, they did their job, which is to protect the president. Now, there's questions about, like, could he have he got, you know, maybe he tripped along the way once he ran through the security line there? I heard that, too. Right, so we don't know that for sure. And then the real question is, even if they, you know, they didn't know what he had on him, right? Whether he was armed with bombs or guns or whatever it may be, why didn't they shoot to kill? And so that's a fair question. That was weird, yeah. All right, that's the presidential stuff. What were you going with locally? So there's this great video from the Bronx. So a big bust yesterday involving an auto theft ring up in the Bronx. And it was amazing. I love the name of this, Operation Pit Crew. Yeah. Stealing catalytic converters and tires, 252 victims, 16 gang members, about 1.2 million in profit for these gangbangers. They waited some apartment. They found a whole bunch of guns, $100,000 in cash. They say there's about four more still out there, but this seemed to be quite an operation. It was a full-on business, and it was an enterprise, and if you see the video of this, it's incredible. The reason they were so successful was they were like a NASCAR pit crew. They would show up at these cars. They mostly went for Hondas and Toyotas because those parts sell better on the black market. And within two or three minutes, that's how fast you watch this video. It's incredible. They stripped the cars of tires, rims, catalytic converters with... precision. And it took them a while a year or two to catch up with this crew. But now you got 16 people behind bars this morning. But they were, they could have used it. They could have been hired by NASCAR to work there. Well, that's why they called the Operation Pit Crew. Yeah. You have any real details? I've heard, yeah, they discuss taxes. How do you say this as French Pierre de Terre? Is that right? Pierre de Terre. Second home tax. Yeah. This meeting that did happen yesterday between Ken Griffin worth about $50 billion and our wretched governor, Kathy Hochul, as he continues to ponder whether to do this $6 billion job, not far from here in Midtown Manhattan, employ about 25,000 people, just a real boom for a city that's dying financially. But after the mayor, that moron embarrassed Griffin... He is starting to think maybe I'll take it elsewhere, do it in Texas, do it in Florida. So he did meet with the governor yesterday, but all I saw, like Morgan McKay, for example, Channel 5, I like her, was a lot of periphery stuff. Any real specifics? Yeah, I didn't see that she had made any public statement after this meeting, but it is interesting that she was called in to try to save this deal. Obviously, you would think the mayor might have gone and just said it, apologize for what he did. He's not going to apologize. It was his deal. And look, even though... You know, they seem to get along. There are some differences between Kathy Hochul and Zohran Mamdani, between Julie Menin and Zohran Mamdani. This Zohran Mamdani, this louse, this radical jihad louse, he's never going to apologize for anything. Ever. Never, ever, ever, ever known.

30:02

Yeah, well, this, if they lose this deal, this is not as big, but almost as big as losing Amazon in Long Island City a number of years ago. Oh. Talking about a $6 billion project, 18,000 jobs. I mean, something crazy like that and that he would ruin it just for a stupid TikTok video, it's amazing. What is the name of that guy in Queens? He actually came after me also a couple of weeks ago when the Democrats were piling up on me. Jimmy von Van. Oh, I know you're talking about that idiot. He came after me. Yeah. Oh, it was during the Mr. Met thing. He's like, oh, what a great time to be a Met man now that Sid isn't something like that. This moron, along with Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, are the reasons why Amazon never got here. He caused Queens and New York a ton of money. And this guy's got the nerve to go on Twitter and come after me. It's Jimmy. Bramer. What is it? Bramer. Jimmy von Bramer. What a dickhead. I hope you're listening, Jimmy, you douche face. Way to go. Come after me on Twitter. I want the city, well, not anymore. Now I want the city to lose everything. I really do. Tyler Reddick here from 2311 racing. Victory Lane? Yeah, it's even better with Chumba by my side. Race to Chumba Casino. Let's Chumba. No purchase necessary. VGW Group. Voidware prohibited by law. CTNCs, 21 Plus, sponsored by Chumba Casino. I keep making the same statement over and over again. I'm a recovering addict. Okay? And... Things didn't really change from me until I hit rock bottom. And I had a lot of rock Scott Bottoms, okay, because I went to rehab twice and I had an issue for the better part of, God, almost 45 years. But eventually I got it. And it did require me, like I said, to hit rock bottom. The only way this city is ever going to come back is if it hits rock bottom. So I'm sorry, Corey Zelnick, I'm sorry Suzanne Miller. I'm sorry John Katzumetis and Bill Ackman and Ken Griffin. I'm sorry. But the only way it's going to work is if the mayor is a complete disaster and he's well on his way. And the governor stays in power. And she's not well on her way because Bruce Blakeman is gaining every day. That's our only hope is that Bruce Blakeman wins. And then maybe at Bruce Blakeman wins, we got a shot at a Republican for mayor in 29. Whether that's me, which I'm still pondering, to be honest, but somebody else, I don't know. Every day I get a phone call from somebody else who says, Sid, sorry, John Shell or the rapper for it. I don't know. Sid, you got to do this. Forget about me for a second. If Bruce Blakeman wins, we've got hope. If not, we are dead. So this city's got to hit its knees after hitting rock bottom and beg for forgiveness.

and find a way to get back to where we were. So I'm actually rooting for the city to lose. No. Well, it makes it easier. Look, you go back to the 80s in Republican Mayor Rudy Giuliani. That was the same thing. The city had hit bottom. And then people said, okay, enough with the Democrats running the city. Let's give the Republican a try. Yeah. And that was a huge win. So then, you know, the question is sort of John Schell's announced is he running as a Republican or a Democrat? He's a Republican. Oh, yes. Okay. I wasn't sure. And then what about Rappaport? Would it be a Democrat or Republican? I don't know. I guess. Because he was a Democrat's whole life. He was, but I changed him. Just like I changed Alan Dershowitz. Just like I changed Lizzie Sovetsky. Just like I changed a lot of folks. I don't know. Maybe he goes as an independent. He is certainly, Michael, based on policy, Trump, Israel, New York City. He's certainly more of a Republican now than he is a Democrat. There's no question about that. But I don't know. He'll be on today. I can ask him. He's coming on at 830. Oh, he is. It's a huge guest. Yeah. If you're thinking of really thinking of running, at some point in the next year, you'd have to really start the fundraising effort. Less. Less. You don't have to announce, but you have to sort of start calling people and saying, I'm thinking about doing this. Will you support me? And if you don't, then that's not going to work for me. That's going to be very easy for me. I've already had Lara Trump on this show. You heard what Lara Trump said? She did. She told you to run. In fact, Droh, get back to the board, you dumb bastard. He's up billing in for Luripino today. He walks away from the board. This is Lara Trump, the president's daughter-in-law. We discussed this whole mayor run with her just last week. So this is cut number seven, Lara Trump with me talking about Mayor Sid. Go ahead, Kevin. Lara Trump is one of my all-time favorite people. She's on this show every week. And again, she's got My View 9 p.m. Saturday nights. It's a great show on Fox News and a podcast as well. I've had the conversation with you, Lauer, a couple of times now. I know it sounds wacky. They said it was wacky. When a TV show host of a reality show was running for president, they said it was wacky when a superaction hero was running for governor in the state of California, or an actor was running for governor in the state of California, or a rapper was running for mayor in New York. That's why I keep saying to you, I got to run for mayor in 2029 because this guy is going to kill all of us. Sid, would you please do it? Can we confirm that right here? Because as you heard, that kind of lead into that whole sound bite, you... played there. We all want New York City to return. This is the greatest city on earth. I mean, this, I mean, thinking about how many people have been made by New York, you could argue Donald Trump would not be in the White House right now had it not been for the city of New York. He changed the skyline, but it changed him and it made him into the person he is today, the greatest president this country has ever seen.

35:52

We have to have that city come back, and we need somebody who understands how to do it. We need a fighter. Someone who's not going to lay down and roll over for all the woke lunatics out there. And God knows, Sid, we know you wouldn't do it if they tried. They could hold your feet to the fire. You wouldn't have it. We need you. Let's go. Well, there you go. We need you. Let's go, Larry Trump. And that whole little stick I did there, and I talked about Schwarzenegger, the governor of California, Reagan, the governor of California, eventually president, You know, obviously Trump was included in that. The rapper is Zohran Mamdani. That was Frank Morano's stick. And Morano and Mike Butler just told me, the great cop, Mike Butler, former, that John Schell is running as an independent note. Oh, okay. Yeah. Which I guess, you know what they do? They run as independents because they don't want to scare away Democrats. You know what I mean? Yeah, well, I'm going to run as a Republican. I'll scare away Democrats, and I just don't care. I just don't. I'm not running as an independent. Because then it makes it sound like I actually care what Democrats think. And you guys know better than that. So we'll see. We'll see. What else you got quick? I got to get to Brian Kilmeade. I think we covered the big stories of the day. It's, dare I say, knock on wood, it's been kind of quiet outside of that. We like that. The Julie Menon and the city council, this is good because this is something that I've now. Taking a lot of interest in. You guys know that? Talking about Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Aaron Siri and the guy I'm endorsing up against Cory Booker in New Jersey, Alex Zedan. You guys all know, of course, that I hosted his event at Trump National in Coltsneck, New Jersey last week. And he's a, he's all about freedom, medical freedom, freedom of choice, religious freedom, parental rights, all the people around him that have come on this show. People like Michael Kane, Mary Holland, Victoria Capish, all these folks. So I've kind of dove in headfirst here. Nicole Sapphire, too. She's been on this show talking about this. She's honored to becoming President Trump's Surgeon General. So Julie Menon and the New York City Council passing bills yesterday trying to make people aware of the dangers of vaccinations. How about that, Noam? Amazing, yeah. Right? And now we are become... Part of that Robert F. Kennedy Jr. crew on this show, and I'm proud to say that I have. Dr. Oz has been here too and others. I will take a break again, Monster Show today. We're going to talk to Dick Girardi tomorrow. Ladies and gentlemen, from the great state of Kentucky. It'll be the 152nd running of the Kentucky Derby. Dick Girardi comes on every year to preview the Derby, the Preakness, and the Belmont. This year is no different. We'll talk to Dick Girardi in the 9 o'clock hour. Joe Takapina, the famous actor, comedian, and... maybe mayor, Michael Rappaport, KT. McFarland, Sean Spicer, author Idalla, and coming up next, our colleague here at WABC and Fox News great Brian Kilmeade. It's an action-packed Friday morning. Right here on the number one show in New York and around the country, we are Sid and Friends in the morning. Sid and Friends in the morning on the Red Apple Podcast Network.

39:08

So Dana Perino made her debut on Sitting Friends in the Morning yesterday. I go, Dana, listen, listen, okay. I have a lot of very, very close friends at Box. I would say about four times a week. We do a three-way text, me, Sean Hannity, and Mark Levin, literally four times a week. But Brian Kilmeade is my guy. And Brian is really the one that helped set this up. I love Brian. And Dana's like, I got to tell you. I don't know why I listen to these boring political podcasts. She goes, your show. Your show is great. She only heard about four minutes while waiting on hold. So Brian, who does a great job following me each and every weekday morning here on 77 WABC at 10 o'clock. Fox and Brands his own amazing show, Sunday nights at 10 o'clock One Nation. Brian, you basically set this thing up and she seemed to really have a good time. Yeah, I mean, it's got a great book out. She's pumped up. She's going to be on Long Island and Oyster Bay. I think Monday. Yes, Monday. You know, Steve Israel's bookstore over at Teddy Books. And I said, wait a second. You haven't been on with Sid yet. And he's like, no. She goes, yeah, we're having trouble getting the time. I go, guys, that's it. Let's get this done. I mean, sit is flexible. He'd love you. You would love him. And I just feel like I put you two together. And I think this is going to be a regular thing. Because you are, you're half, you're a little like, you're half between Jesse and Gutfeld. I'm like, that's the type of personality. She gets along with the irreverent, but the knowledgeable, smart, and insightful. So, I mean, this is perfect, as if you're, you're the hybrid of the five. I love that. Somewhere between Jesse and Gutfeld. Very cute, too, like those guys. Well, thank you for that, Brian. She was great. You're still my guy. You're my box person, but she was terrific. Before you get to the... I'll tell you the best you could do is number two. You're right. That's not terrible. That's not terrible. Although the Hawks were number two last night. And when there's only two, that's not good. Obviously, you're a big sports guy. You and I almost did a sports show together, and I always talk about this literally 30 years ago, but... The Knickerbockers had a 50-point lead in the second quarter. I just turned 59 last Sunday. I've never seen an NBA game like this. They're not like your little kids play basketball. It's like 100 to 12. This was a 50-point Nick lead in the second quarter. They move on. Things more complicated now because the 76ers beat the Celtics last night. So all of a sudden, the mighty Celtics, they got to play a game seven at home. And don't look now. But with the piston struggling and Cleveland barely getting by, the Knickerbockers right now are the most impressive team, Brian, inside the Eastern Conference. And you know what? I just think that it's funny because it looks so bad for two straight games. Because they lost two by one point. You think to yourself, you know, what's going on with the bench? Why did they have these guys in at the end? What happened to the defense from last year? And then they quickly show that they can beat the hawks, and they do. And then they crush the hawks in six. And people go, and they look better than ever. While the Celtic struggle against Philadelphia, I mean, this is, you know, we watch Houston and Lakers going at it. So there's a lot of, there's a, there's a lot going, I tell you, Mike Brown seems like a great guy.

42:23

But there's pressure on this guy to go beyond what the last year's team did. And it looked like the hawks look younger. They look faster. They look looser. You know, they were not intimidated by the garden. And I'm thinking of myself, they'll probably going to fire this guy if they lose this series. And now all of a sudden it's like, well, anything's possible. But fundamentally, even though we have new rules now, Sid, doesn't this come down to tenacious defense still? I mean, we were there in the 80s and 90s, real 90s with the Knicks. Every year, I don't care. What happened? Who they rotated in as a free, Kiki Vandeway, who or whoever, they were known for tough defense. That's what got him deep in the playoffs every year against Miami and ultimately against Houston. And now we're back to that. Even though the rules are a little bit tighter, that's what it's going to be. And if we could figure that out, I think they just finally figured it out. There's no question, especially in the postseason. Regular season basketball, you can win 155 to 135, but even though the Knicker scored 140 points last night, to your point, they only gave up 80 plus at one point in the second quarter. The Hawks only had 22 points. So you're right, defense usually wins just like football in the postseason, and the Nickabockers played great defense the last three games against the Hawks. You know what did make me nauseous so last night? It is Ryan Seacrest here. There was a recent social media trend which consisted of flying on a plane with no music, no movies, no entertainment. The Knicks are up big at the half, and I noticed the mayor, this idiot mayor, actually tweeted. In Knicks, we trust. I don't know when he became a big Nick man and always a guy in hugging Mr. and Mrs. Met. I'm not exactly sure when Zohran Mamdani became a big Nick fan, but I actually was having such a good night enjoying all the action until I saw the mayor's tweet. I know. What about the way he, we haven't talked about this. What about the way he acted with the king? And queen. Oh, that was disgusting. Disgusting. By the way, Curtis Sliwa agrees with him. He agrees. Give back the jewel. Who can't? I mean, you got four countries that claim they own that crown jewel. India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iran. Who cares? He's here. He's at a 9-11 memorial. But it goes to show you, Brian, that this guy doesn't care about the beautiful American lives. perished that died on that soil that day. He doesn't really care about what we went through the last 25 years. He just doesn't care. He doesn't get it. I mean, it's like a child. I mean, it was like a little spoiled brat. I don't like him. No, no. You're running the city. He chose to come to your city. He didn't have to. You go to the 9-11 Memorial. You want to get attention for 25 years. But then again, he has to make a statement about the king. You go out there. Bloomberg had to step up and stand with him by the memorial. I mean, to me, I'd be ticked off if, you know, I go, hey, I'm the mayor. But he doesn't want to be with the king. So I had Harry Cole on yesterday from the Sun, British newspaper. And he said the deal is India gave it. India gave it to Britain as a gift. This is not, you and I wouldn't know this issue. I don't even have to pronounce the jewel. So they gave it as a gift. He goes, so we keep it. That's it. It's done. I know, but it just outlined it, underlined this. He's not from here. Eight years ago, he's, I think, in Uganda. So he doesn't even think with an American sensibility. He doesn't think about the war of 1812. He doesn't think about the British alliance in World War 11, like Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett. So this is, to me, he just, he hurt himself with that, as bad as he did with the Ken Griffin situation. Oh, no doubt. And that jewelry was given to England 93 years ago. And again, for me, it's less than he doesn't know. He's young. He has no heart. You don't got to be, you know, mature or know a lot to know that when 3,000 people died where you're standing, you know, he also took a smiling selfie, him, Kathy Hochul. There were five of them. Are you going to tell me that New York politicians at this point don't know that when you stand on that sacred soil? for all those Americans died, you can take a picture. You do not take a smiling selfie. That's what Kathy Hochul, Zohran Mamdani, and all these nitwits did a couple days ago. Yes, and I got more bad news. I'm sure you know it. They are underlying severe sanctuary city laws to prevent ICE from doing anything in the city. So they let in tens of thousands who are living off the city, off the tax dollars, and now...

47:33

They have the most strict sanctuary cities. You do not cooperate with ICE in New York. Kathy Hochul is ushering it in. Bruce Blakeman's got to capitalize on this. No cooperation with illegal immigrants siphoning off our system, living in our hotels, and now in the streets, in many cases, overcrowding schools. And now if they come after them, they're going to punish the cops. If they cooperate at all, and they're not going to, they're going to block ice wherever. They're going to be obligated to block ice wherever they go. Now. What's homie going to do? Probably double and triple down. We could have a mini, Minneapolis right here again. So that is what Governor Hocco is still doing. So don't want anyone tell you that she's a moderate. Watch her actions. And she's scared to death of Zohran Mamdani, scared of whatever he harnessed to get elected. So she does not know what to make of it. And that's why if Bruce Blakeman gets aggressive and calls her out on all this, she'll be forced to either act like a socialist. or act like a moderate. You can't have it both ways. You're right about her. By the way, in the final 60 seconds, she did meet with the aforementioned. You mentioned Ken Griffin moments ago, who's considering taking his $6 billion New York City project someplace else because of the moron mayor of Zohran Mamdani. They did meet yesterday. They spoke about taxes, I guess specifically. second home tax. I can't pronounce that ridiculous French term for what she wants to do. But she did meet with Griffin yesterday, so there is hope that he will still spend that money right here in New York City. I don't know. Is there hope? Or would I like him to do what he did in Chicago and leave and send a message? Send a message. I mean, look, I know in the short term we all pay the price for that, but send a message. What you're doing. is scaring away everybody. You went after me. Now you lost $6 billion, $100,000, 100,000 jobs and everything else that those people were going to contribute to the New York City economy. I find myself rooting against New York because I want them to learn the lesson. Remember what Ken Griffin said. There's nothing in our DNA in America that can coexist with socialism that will lunatic in Seattle. If billionaires want to leave, goodbye. You know, that we have our mayor. Billionaires should not be allowed. No, billionaires, you say, how did they do it, do reverse forensics, and you follow in their wake, and you hope that someone like that will mentor you, or you can read their biography and emulate their steps. That's the American way. You know, if you inherit this money and you're blowing it from, like, we know a lot of people next second and third generations, that's not what I'm talking about. But no one gave these guys anything. Sid, How much are you working? What time did we get up today? You know, how long did it take us to get these jobs? I'm not complaining. I'm just saying, underline the path to success. It's never easy, but it's synonymous with the American way. I'm going to earn my way up. I'm going to see people that's successful. I'm going to find out how they did it. See if I could march them, match them and exceed them. But we have these people that we keep electing that wants us to resent them. And we cannot let that happen. That is so well said. I mean, I'm actually giving you a fist pump right now, Brian Kilmeade. That was great. And I'm with you. I'm a recovering addict. And I had to hit rock bottom, hit my knees and hit rock bottom before I got better. I am also rooting for New York, even though I work and live here, my wife and children.

51:04

to drown because like a recovering addict, until you hit rock bottom, you never really get better. So I'm with you a thousand percent. Okay, Brian, two days away, 10 p.m. Sunday night. Best show on cable TV. Your show, One Nation, 10 p.m. Sunday nights on Fox News. What are we looking at? Well, I can't forget about October 17th at Westbury Music Fair. We're beginning to sell a lot of tickets from United States Tour, my new book coming out in October. But coming up, we've got a Peter Schweitzer is going to unwind what's happening with China. He is going to dig in. You know, the investigative reporter. Also, why are we being infiltrated by outside sources through social media trying to divide us? He's unwound the whole thing. Mike Pence is going to be with us. We know that for sure. Abby Hornacek, I know is your favorite. That'll be great. We've got other surprises throughout the day. Sunday at 10 o'clock, all-time high. Last week, we got the highest demo on the day on Sunday. That means young people are watching because... They know we're cool. So that makes you a Sunday at 10. But most of all, listen to today's radio show because we're going to talk about. We got a great roster of guests today, including my brother's going to be joining us, talking about his brand new team as well as a World Cup preview. We're going to have Shannon Bream's got to be with his Julian Epstein on the Democrats that he wants no longer a part of. Like John Fetterman, he's a moderate. He's not happening to his party. Just like that lunatic in Maine, a Nazi tattoo. as a socialist, and he had basically knocked out the sitting governor to get the Democratic nomination. I want to find out what's happening with that party, because I find that flat out scary. That is terrifying. I agree with you. By the way, the Iranian soccer team will be here in the United States playing during the World Cup. That should be interesting. And you are very cool. Massively defect. I know. You are very cool and very handsome. You're great Brian Kilmeade. I love you. I love you. I love you. I love you. I love you. I love you. I love you. I love you. I love you. I love you. I will try, buddy. Thank you.

The amazing defense attorney, Arthur Ida, is going to be here. So last night, Michael Scheinberg, the president. I guess the Kings County Criminal Bar Association. They threw this big dinner at Giando on the water. Great spot, Kent Avenue in Brooklyn. And they announced all these honorees, folks they honored last night. You had the Honorable Dina Douglas, you had Jeanette Cleason, all these folks. But the big one last night receiving the James L. Koenig Person of the Year Award.

56:23

Audi Idalla. So Arthur took my daughter, Ava, to this big shindig last night, celebrating Arthur being person of the year. She was excited to be there. I was asleep when she got home. I have no idea how it went. But I know your mom and dad are listening and all your friends and family. So let me join all of them, Arthur Idalla, in congratulating you on this amazing honor you received last night. Sid, I love you. And you're a brilliant broadcaster. I mean, everyone knows you're the greatest on the planet. Don't say I took your daughter like she was on my arm. No, no, stop that now. Don't be silly. I haven't seen her yet today, but I imagine she had a great time last night. Set the scene for me. What was that like last night? So the Kings County Criminal Bar, most bar associations are like only for prosecutors, are only for defense attorneys or only for judges. But this one is all of it. So here's the thing, Sid, is that it's people who are normally adversaries or people who are normally performing in front of a judge or whatever. Everyone, for two bald guys. kind of lets their hair down. And we just, we all just all hang out as friends. And that's kind of rare. And the bar association, this particular bar association has been around since 1934. And every year, we just, you have a dinner. Gondos, as you know, is a beautiful spot right under the Williamsburg Bridge. To your left, you see the Freedom Tower. To your right, you see the Empire State Building. Wow. And I will tell you that, Sid, with all humility, the venue holds 275 people. And there was a little bit of a mess up because 350 people RSVP. So what they did was the extended the cocktail hour for two hours. So that there were some people who could only stay for the cocktail hour. And it was a coming together of really the best and the brightest of New York, the New York legal community. And, you know, my dad was the oldest one there, almost 88. And I'm not exaggerating. Ava, your daughter, was the youngest one there. And I believe 21. 22. She just turned 22, April 7th. She did just turned 22, right. All right. Well, she's been with me for like nine months. So in my mind, she's 21, okay? 21. By the way, by the way, in my mind, she's four. Just so you know, okay? It's all weird for me to see my daughter all dressed up and working alongside, thanks to you, one of the great attorneys, not just in New York, but around the country. And, you know, you're involving her in some pretty big cases, which I don't share with people. Yeah, well, you know, your buddy, Vince Vallelon, came on the air a couple of days ago, the great president of the SBA union. He kind of gave it away that, hey, congratulations, Ava, that she may be doing something on this Eric Durant.

59:30

case. He gave that away. I didn't say anything. I didn't even know about it. She never tells me anything she does in your office, just so you know. Never. You know what she does? She knows what she tells me? Because I heard Vince the other day talking and he named dropped her. And so she, your daughter ever comes to the office, I go, did you hear you? Did you hear you? I go, the head of the SBA dropped your name. She was, Arthur, how many times do I have to tell you, I don't listen to my father on the radio with him. She was forced to listen a couple of days ago because Danielle does listen. And Danielle and her went to work together in the city. She was forced to listen. And no complaints. I'm sure she complained to her mother. But, you know, talking about Eric Durand, it's interesting. Because I had Bruce Blakeman on this show. I don't know, about a month, now a couple weeks ago. And he made the declaration here before he went public on Long Island that when he wins, when he beats Kathy Hochul, he's going to pardon Eric Duran. Now what I'm seeing, Arthur Ida, all over the internet. Every social media site is that I'm waiting for Bruce. There is a tremendous amount of pressure right now on Governor Kathy Hochul to pardon your guy, Eric Duran. Are you seeing that? Absolutely. A lot of news outlets, and just like people on the street, you know, it was interesting. The day that we got him out, which was two weeks ago today, right, I had to go to a wake all the way up in like northern Rockland County. And I was with people in the truck in my job, my car. And I'm driving up. And we were a little late. They're like, you know, you're going really fast. They go, what happens when you get pulled over? I go, I just told the cop, hey, we just got Sergeant Gerard out in jail. What are you going to do? Give me a ticket. No, that doesn't work. No, no, no. Clearly, you don't listen to this program because, according to Emily Lipstein, who works at Street Blogs, New York City, if you get pulled over and the officer hears my show on in the car, you can get away with murder. That's what she said. It's just like your best friend, President Trump. He says he can choose someone on Fifth Avenue and he can get away with it. Look, there is a sense of right and wrong still that remains in our society, which is a beautiful thing. And people now know about Eric Durant. Here's the weird part. When it happened, it got a little publicity. When he went to trial, it got very little publicity. When he got convicted, he got very little publicity. But when he got sentenced to three to nine, which people thought, maybe he's got to do a minimum of three years in jail for a guy who basically saved two, three or four lives, we'll never know because unfortunately one life was lost. It got a ton of publicity. And when you got out on bail pending appeal, he got a ton of publicity. Look, we need people, we need law enforcement.

1:02:31

to obviously do the best they can to be smart. There's always going to be a bad apple in the cart. But right around the corner from where your daughter and I work, when I see right around the corner, I mean, as close as you want to Smith-Wolensky, like 40 yards, there's that vans sneaker store. And the day before yesterday, there was some big, it was an explosion of people to get these new sneakers. And it got out of control. They were trying to break windows. And seriously, there's your beautiful 22-year-old daughter trying to get to the office with a cup of coffee in their hand. And there's like 40 guys going, and they're all men, going crazy. And God bless the men and women at the NYPD. You have to make these split-second decisions over and over and over. You know, you host a radio show. You have to make a split-second decision. Do I see this? Do I see that? If you say the wrong thing, Margo Casamatidis comes inside. Sid, you should have said that. Forget about Margo Casamatis. How about the mayor and the attorney general? If a cop, if a cop does the wrong thing in their job, you know, you and I do the wrong thing in our job, we get in trouble. If a cop does the wrong thing in their job, they go to jail. Or they could end up dead. One of those two things. That's a nice option. Yeah, I know. And I have to mention the jerky... Judge, I always do that now. His name is Guy Mitchell. Guy Mitchell, that's the jerk. I hope this gets back to you, Guy. Take a page out of Michael Aloyce's book who did the right thing when it came to hammering Guy Rivera who murdered Jonathan Diller. Hey, Guy Mitchell, take a page out of Michael Alois's book. Be a man. Be a man for good. That was a jerky, stupid, biased horrible decision. As far as I'm concerned, you're a louse. Let me move on. Supreme Court. You had a big, big day a couple days ago. Barack Obama went nuts. He went nuts. Six-three decision talking about redistricting, gerrymandering. But you were right there, Arthur Rite Dollar, right there, weren't you? It was, Sid, it was amazing. And let me tell you something that when you go to Washington, D.C., I know I'm a lawyer, so I'm a little biased. But anyone can walk just stroll into the Supreme Court. You've got to go through a metal detector, but you can stroll in. And you see those nine justices up there, and you're in that story courtroom. There's just a feeling that comes over you like, wow, this is America. And this is the day after. Right, but I'm curious, before you get to the day after, because back in 2016. Danielle had the opportunity to go, and she actually now is allowed, permitted to try cases in front of the court. So she actually met all nine judges. You have the same ability, I imagine, yes? Yeah, yeah. It's amazing. You know, what I was going to say was it was the day after the state dinner with the king of England, right, with Charles III.

1:05:41

When you're in the Supreme Court and you think, you just start thinking, you take a deep breath. You know, we're at the 250th anniversary of this beautiful country. And you think about England. You think about what goes on. You look at those judges and the checks and balances and how smart those, dare I say, white men were in 1774 and 1775 and 76. And they came up with the Declaration of Independence and they came up with the Constitution. And you're in the middle of it. And you're like... Wow, like this is cool. And I walk in and here's the beauty of it all. After they go, hear you, hear you, all those who want to bring before this court, please rise. And everyone stands up and the nine justices come out and the courtroom is packed. And here's the beauty of America. The chief judge, Judge John Roberts, says, Samuel Alito will read the decision of the court. And he comes out and he does this whole like, it's like eight minutes. And he reads about the Voting Rights Act and how you can draw these lines of the gerrymandering. And he starts talking about the dissents, the other justices who wrote about why they shouldn't have this decision. It gets pretty a little bit nasty. And then the woman right next to him, Elena Kagan, appointed by Barack Obama. She's sitting like three feet away from and she's basically ragged them. Congratulations. The Civil Rights Act has been stripped and gutted by the justices on this court and then basically like giving the F word to each other and they're like a foot apart from each other. And then Elena Kagan starts choking. I don't know. She loses her composure and she can't even breathe. And who do you think is in the glass of water? Samuel Alito hands him in his own water and she grabs it and drinks it. But that's the beauty of America. Even though they're on other sides of the spectrum, other sides of the issue, they're like almost cursing at each other, a foot away from each other when one actually needs the other. For a glass of water, they help each other. And I mean, Sid, it was just so awe. It was awe-inspiring. The courtroom was packed. The media was there. And I got to hang out with Samuel Alito a little bit afterwards. And I said, Justice, you were at the state dinner Monday night with, you know, with the French Charles and the Queen and all these fancy people, etc. I wasn't. He's such a great guy. He doesn't hesitate. He goes, the Dover's soul was a little dry.

1:08:25

That's a great answer. That is a great answer. It was absolutely wonderful being in the presence of everyone. I got to say a little to the Chief Justice real quick. And, you know, America, the fact that even though we all hate each other, sometimes black and white and red and purple and green and all these colors. Ready to put a little spin on your day? At the end of the day, the United States Supreme Court, before they come out, every time before they come out, every nine of them, one nine of them have to shake each other's hands. and just say, you know, we're doing this for the country. And it was just, it was, it was absolutely amazing and it was such an honor to be there. What a great couple of days for you, Marty. Supreme Court, you described that beautifully. Your big honor last night again. Congratulations, Arthur Idaala winning the James El Coney person of the year, according to the Kings County Criminal Bar Association, on a big to-do on the water last night on Kent Avenue in Brooklyn. As always, Arthur Ida, amazing appearance. Thank you for all you do for this city, my daughter, obviously, and congrats on a great couple of days. Tomorrow, early in the morning, at his school in Chelsea, New York City. My little boy, Gabriel, is taking his SATs. And then next year, of course, he'll be a senior in high school, and we'll see where he ends up in college. I think you know where I want him to go and what he wants to go. So big day tomorrow morning for Gabriel Martin Atticus Rosenberg taking his SATs. Son, best of luck. I love you, and I'm proud of you, and I'll see you later. Sid and Friends in the morning on the Red Apple Podcast Network.

1:11:26

744 on your beautiful sunny Friday morning here in New York City. We'll hit about 65 today. Back in the 70s, Monday night I'll be at Yankee Stadium. I'm going to see my dear friend Randy Levine again as the Yanks will host the Orioles in the fourth and final game of that set, which starts tonight. Peter Lonzo back in New York. Be a gorgeous night Monday in the 70s, I believe close to 80 on Tuesday. Sean Spicer. Former political aid, he did serve as the 30th White House Press Secretary and White House Communications Director on the President Trump in 2017. Well, as Communications Director of the Republican National Committee from 2011 to 2017 and its chief strategist from 2015 to 2017, he does host full court press with Sean Spicer, which you can listen to right here every Sunday morning from 10 to 11. And best of all, Sean Spicer can dance. You think I forgot, Sean? I didn't forget. Wow, that's the most important thing. And I don't know that I would agree that I can actually dance. I may have advanced in a dance competition, but I think that was more of my campaigning skills than it was my actual dancing skills. Listen, say what you want. The fact is, 2019, right before COVID, I remember watching my friend Sean Spicer on Dancing with the Stars. In fact, you came out with me and up and all to talk about it. You did a great job. That was good stuff. Well, thank you, Sid. I will say that the president called me the night that I got eliminated from Dancing with the Stars. And I, despite my inability to actually have any rhythmic movements in my body, he said, you know, Sean, you're no Fred Astaire. And I said, Mr. President, you're right about that. So like I said, I can campaign. I got the votes to move on to the quarterfinals week after week. But I think the judges made it very clear. My skill set was not there on the dance floor. That's okay. You were great, too, in your position when you served under Trump as the White House press secretary. They busted your balls about the inauguration and was so stupid. And I got to tell you, I've become pretty good friends with Levitt now. I like her a lot. And, you know, you look back at the last four years of the folks that had that position for Joe Biden, that Karin, John Pierre. She's just... dumb. Sorry. I'm sorry. I said it. She's just dumb. Jensaki wasn't dumb. I won't correct you, said. I will not correct. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. She was just dumb. Jen Saki wasn't dumb. She was just evil. But all in all, it was a rag-tig bunch of losers. And then you guys, all of you guys, Bernie Sanders, to McAnneux, to, of course, Levitt right now. All of you guys are winners. What do you think of Levitt right now for President Trump? Look, here's the thing. And you mentioned at the outset I wrote this brand new book, Trump 2.0, that just came out. And I have an entire chapter in there about the changes that Caroline made to the briefing room. And part of the reason I wrote Trump 2.0 was to make sure that people that it just didn't get unnoticed. Caroline made some structural changes in how all of us get our news. So when I went, when I was press secretary, I brought Skype into the room. I did all these things to help.

1:14:46

and the stranglehold that the NBC's and New York Times that had on what you saw read and heard. I don't know that we have enough time to get into it, which is why it's always a great idea to buy the book. But what Caroline did is further, and then by the way, and then what did you mentioned, Saki and Corinje Jampier, they cut. the credentials for 300 independent journalists. So for all this talk about the free press and all this stuff, that was what they did so that they could minimize any questions that Joe Biden would get. What Caroline then did when she came back is she revolutionized the briefing room. She allowed more media outlets in there from all sorts of stripes, conservative, liberal, independent, and that has been good for democracy. It's been good for... our country writ large. It's been good for journalism. And so these are the kind of changes that I document. And part of the reason I wrote the book was so that there's a place to explain what I like to say is the why said, which is it didn't just happen. Caroline didn't just come up with these ideas. She's a smart woman. Don't get me wrong. But part of it was she had time, just like President Trump did. to go out and talk to me. She talked to Sarah. She talked, what would you do differently about your job? What changes could I make to make improvement? And then she wrote them all down and she laid them all out. And also the America First Policy Institute, I note this in the thing. They interviewed all of us from like the senior position in the Trump 1.0. And they gave our successors, including Caroline and Stephen Trump, a copy of this report and said, okay, here's what your predecessor said that they would do differently. Now, did they take every recommendation? Probably not. But at the end of the day, these guys got the ability to start Trump 2.0 in a very different position. And I had this conversation with the president just the other day. And I said, it's not one's better than the other. That's not the point of Trump 2.0. It's to explain the why. Why is it different? And the reason is because those intervening four years, Sid, I don't know if you, you know, a lot of Americans don't fully appreciate this. There's only been two presidents in our entire history that have had two terms that weren't consecutive. And Donald Trump's the first one in modern history. And the reason that I go into detail on this is because what he and his team did in the intervening four years is everything to do with why they are so successful right now. God, you are so right. Sean Spicer. You got to buy this book, Trump 2.0, The Revolution. that will permanently transform America. And, you know, I speak to the president every now and then. I like you, okay. But we texted each other Sunday after they try to kill him again on Saturday night. He's on this show every couple of months. But those four years when he was sitting at Mar-a-Lago and stewing, okay? And I can tell you about meetings I had with him at the golf course at Mar-a-Lago. Great conversations. A year before he even won, we sat together at the golf course, and he was talking to me as if he was still president. He knew exactly what he was going to do when, in fact, he beat Harris at the time he thought it would be Biden, but when he was going to win. So he didn't sit there for four years, right, and just play golf, and no, no, he sat there for four years, stewing because he thought he won and they screwed him, and on top of it, preparing himself for the next four years. Yeah.

1:18:02

Can I respectfully tweak your word? I don't think he just stewed. They planned. They plotted. So all of this, they use that time. And I know that's what you're getting at, Sid, but I think for listeners to fully appreciate it. And that's literally why I wrote the book. And when I had this conversation with him the other day, I think, Mr. President, what you guys did in those four years in between, you just mentioned you're going to the Yankees. I'm sorry that you can't go to a Red Sox game, but I guess in New York, that's the best you guys can do. You just fired your manager because you're so bad. Well, we just updated the roster. I mean... It's more of a house cleaning. Just to be clear. You guys could barely beat the 76ers. This is not the morning, Sean, to be talking about Boston sports. All right. Good point. Good point. Good point. Okay. Okay. So, but here's the thing is that those intervening four years literally matter. Like what they did, the plots, the plans. Tom Homan didn't start this administration and randomly go to cities. They knew exactly where to go, what cities to choose, how to implement the policies. They knew what they were doing. And that's the important thing to understand and why I wrote Trump 2.0. And I'll tell you this right now because a lot of people asking, I'm coming to New York, by the way, to do a couple of book signings up there. But if people in the WABC listening world say, hey, I'd love a signed book for Mother's Day. Because most polls said, I don't know if you know this. Reuters, Ips, Gallup, all have done a huge poll that said that Trump 2.0 is the number one diff mothers are asking for for Mother's Day. If you want it signed, all you have to do is take a screenshot of your Amazon Purchasey.com, and I'll send you a personalized bookplate to put into the book. Well, I can tell you this. I can tell you this. Before you move any further, my mother, Naomi, who just turned 91, we share her birthday. I was born on my mom's birthday. So last Sunday, April the 19th, I turned 59, and my mother Naomi turned 91. She loves the president. The president knows it. Every now and then he'll come on. I'll play a message from my mother. Everything Trump she loves. So Naomi Rosenberg would love a signed Sean Spicer book. Love it. Looking for a little Hollywood-style fun? Check out Ryan Seacrest 10K Ways exclusively at Chumba Casino. And by the way, I know how well John Kastomitius pays you. I think you should get one for the entire family. Go to Amazon right now. Order that. I don't really care, but just I would act now so that you don't want to disappoint Naomi. You do not want to do that. You know that. No, I know that. Trust me. I know that. And why she's going to love this book, too, is...

1:21:04

While the Levit conversation was fascinating because you did that job, that's actually really cool that you guys sat down and all spoke with her. You talk about the tariffs. You talk about NATO. You talk about Doge. You talk about the American health. You know, what a great job that Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and all those folks are doing. Obviously, you talk about all the wars that he's stopped, all the conflicts, eight or nine at this point. So this is a, correct me if I'm wrong, but a pretty comprehensive look at this. second term for President Trump. Well, but again, like I do mention everything. I talk about, here's the thing. I just, whenever I look at something, maybe it's 27 years in the military that when we do an exercise, we look at what went well and what didn't. And, and we do a hot wash at the end of everything we do, it's just ingrained in military thinking. And so part of what I wanted to do is to say, okay, NATO just didn't decide to pay their 2% obligation. These other countries aren't. you know, giving up the tariffs and the non-tariff barriers for entry to the country. The Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Center didn't just become the Trump Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Center. Things mattered. I'll tell you a quick funny story. So in 2020, after. President Biden came in office. I had been appointed to the board of U.S. Naval Academy by President Trump. Biden sent me, his head of personnel, sent me an email in September of 2020 and said, at 5 o'clock today, either resign from your position or we'll fire you. And I'm Irish, so I sent back a simple message. No. And then Stephen Miller's group, America First Legal, said, would you like to sue? the Biden administration. And they said, but here's the king. We want to lose. And I was like, okay, I watched the law and law and order, but I've never realized that you try to lose. And he said, we want them to go to court and argue in the affirmative that the president has the ability to fire anybody. Because I had been sworn into a term of three years. And so we, quote, lost that case. And then when President Trump won, guess what everyone at the Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Center when they got fired said on the record to the Washington Post. We can't do anything about it because of Spicer v. Biden. And none of that would have happened had it not been for the intervening action for those four years. That America First legal came up with that case. They paid for that case. And it's given President Trump the ability in Trump 2.0 to go out there and make sure that he has the right people fighting for the America First agenda. So, I mean, all of these things happened. And because we live at Trump time, which is, you know, nonstop, as Peter Navarro likes to say. Part of this is so that people understand the why. Like, it's not just random that this is happening. We file the lawsuit. We quote, lost the lawsuit. But President Trump is now able to govern his administration the way he wants because of these actions that were taken by America First Policy Institute, by the Heritage Foundation, because of Project 2025, because of America First legal. All of these things matter as to the success of Trump 2.0. And the whole point of the book, Trump 2.0, is to make sure people understand that why. Trump 2.0, the revolution that will permanently transform America by our great friend. What a talented guy, Sean Spicer. You can listen to Sean on this radio station. Every Sunday, he hosts Full Court Press with Sean Spicer 10 to 11 a.m. Sean, congratulations on this amazing book. And I think you're right. Great gift for Mother's Day. And you and I'll talk again very, very soon. Congrats. All right. Congratulations, Naomi. I'm sorry that we just gave away your gift. But, you know.

1:24:33

Hopefully, Sid gets you a little something out. You're great, Sean. Thank you so much, buddy. Thank you. Sean Spicer right there. Get that book. Go get it today for your mom. And, of course, 10 to 11, like I said, every Sunday. Full court press with my buddy, Sean Spicer. Take a short break. When we get back, KT. McBarland, she's here every Friday, big star, started with Imas. Many decades ago, now a big superstar on Fox News and does her best work arguably, although... I think it is. Right here with me every Friday. We love KT. She's next. Sid and Friends in the Morning on the Red Apple Podcast Network. 8.04 on your beautiful Friday morning. We've got a great show already. Brian Kilmeade, author Ida. Moments ago, Sean Spicer. I guess they did a ballistics report, Norm, and they found out that it was, in fact, a bullet. from the suspect who is still being held in custody. I think his hearing is May 11th. This loser, Cole Allen, he was the one that shot that Secret Service guy, yes? Yeah. I mean, thank God it was okay. He wore the vest. No, it's not the thought. I guess they've proven that now. And it's saying it's proof. They've proven that now, yeah. And it hit him in the cell phone. Yeah, yeah. I guess he had a cell phone in his pocket, so it hit the cell phone and the bullproof vest. Did the cell phone survive? Hmm. I'd have to find that up for you. That would be a great commercial. That would be honest, right? Doesn't matter. You can shoot it and do whatever you want this cell phone. It's the Apple 17. Is it bulletproof? I don't know. I don't think so. I doubt it. Yeah. I may need a bulletproof phone at some point. You know, that's a real possibility. Yeah. What is that, Josh, what are you pointing out? They got the videos out now of the shooter rushing. I'm not sure if this is old news. No, no, it's no. It's no. It's because the other one was grainy last weekend. This one, you see him. It's in color. Yeah, it's crystal clear. Yeah, and he runs really fast. And, you know, Trump talked about he should play in the NFL. He runs so fast. Nevertheless, he's never going to see the light of day. And again, for all the folks that are crushing Secret Service, they made some mistakes. There's no question about that. But they weren't awful. This is, this was more about the venue. And, you know, the guy had a stupid plan. Let's be honest. The guy never got close to the president. You know, he was in the hotel. He was staying there. Hey, it's Ryan Sechrest here. And if you're looking for some serious fun, head over to Chumbat Casino.com. At Chumba Casino, you can play all your favorite social casino style games for free anytime, anywhere. It's the most fun you can have on your phone or computer. No purchase necessary. VGW room. Boy, we're prohibited by loss. See, terms of conditions, 21 plus. Not like he made his way. He took the train. That's how he got all that weaponry to D.C. He didn't fly. So the guy's a smart guy and he figured out a way to get close. But he wasn't that close. But I still think the Secret Service needs to be better or they will kill Trump one day, even though I don't think the Secret Service was awful last weekend. How do I know that?

1:27:36

President Trump is alive today. Okay. So some of the criticism I think is a bit much. But what do I know? Anyway, KT. McFarlane does a great job on Fox News about 10 times a week. She's here with us quite a bit. Everybody, because we love her. KT., good morning. How are you? I'm terrific. Thank you. Good morning to you. Nice to have you back. I know you just heard what I had to say about the Secret Service. I know I said this all week long, but it's worth repeating again. I did text the President early Sunday morning. He got right back to me. And he said, thank you, Sid. I'm okay. And he thanked in this text to me, the Secret Service. Early Sunday morning of folks said, well, he's got to do that. And he loves the cops. But he did it again today. So he wasn't like that. with the Secret Service in Butler, Pennsylvania. He was not. This time around, he seems to really think the Secret Service did a good enough, if not decent job. What are your thoughts? I think two things. They did an excellent... Oh, where are you? KT, I can hear you. You're about to say I did an excellent job. Where'd you go? Excellent job at the ballroom itself. Right. But not a very good job on the perimeter security. In other words, it was very easy for people either staying at the hotel or even going to the event to get through the various early-on checkpoints. And that all needs to be re-examined. Yeah, but don't you think the fact that they're in a hotel where there's 3,000 people staying that that added to the difficulty of keeping the president safe? Absolutely. And then I think it's to your point. Your point is the best one. The venue is a bad venue. But it's the only venue. It's the only venue to do a dinner of that size in Washington. And that's historically where the big stuff in Washington happens, whether it's a national prayer breakfast, whether it's the, you know, the White House correspondence dinner, whether it's any of these things. To President Trump's immediate point, that's why you need to build a ballroom. That's it. Secure. You can get thousands of people in it. Do you know that when we have big events like a state dinner where you want to be able to invite 500 people? There are that many people who want to attend, who want to be part of history, they have to put up a tent and porta-potties. That's not the United States. You know, even in the Reagan administration, though, when I would go to White House, big events like that, big dinners, they were crowded and they'd have an overflow crowd. It's like a junior crowd in the basement in another room. But we need a ballroom. We need a ballroom for not just state dinners, but we need it for big events like that that can be secure, safe. You know who's there. You know when their birthdays are. Secret Service checks everybody. There's no stray people wandering in. So time to build a ballroom. Forget about the politics. Just do the job. The politics is stupid, too, because let's face it, let's say, you know, you're a Democrat, and all the Democrats hate Trump, all of them except for John Fetterman. That's it. So you hate Trump, and the last thing you want is Trump to build something beautiful, get credit for it, and then enjoy it. Here's where they're being stupid. By the time this thing is built,

1:30:55

If Trump has three months left in office, he'll be lucky. Point being that this ballroom is really for the next president and all those presidents after. And, you know, you're a Democrat, you hope many of those are Democrat presidents. By the time they build this, Trump would be able to enjoy it. Yeah, but it's a Trump's arrangement syndrome. There's nothing he can do that they're going to like. Whether they like it secretly or not, they're all going to complain about it and criticize it. And, you know, Trump could have peace in the Middle East, prevent Iran from getting nuclear weapons, make the United States the energy superpower of the world, control the world oil supply, bring, you know, bring China to its, to an economic... issue because it doesn't have cheap energy that's not controlled by the United States, and they would still hate Trump. Of course, no. He could cure cancer, and they would complain that he's putting the guys who do chemotherapy out of work. Right, on colleges, right? Yeah, no, it's ridiculous. But I do want to ask you because you have such great experience, and you mentioned your days with Reagan, and for my life, he was always my favorite president, always Ronald Reagan. until this guy came along. Now, I love them both. You know, I love both Ronald Reagan and President Trump. You've worked with both. You know both very, very well, very intimate meetings with both Reagan and Trump. Very similar, not really. What are your thoughts on those two guys in particular? They'll both be extraordinarily consequential precedents, probably Trump even more. The difference is that President Reagan was inspirational. His speeches were just, you know, you cry there was so beautifully done. His personal courage was terrific. President Trump is different. He's a businessman. He understands the economic power of the United States, and he's not afraid to use it. He's not as inspirational as speaker, but I think as a strategic thinker, he's probably... a step ahead of Reagan. And here's why. So take Iran as the example in the Middle East. There are like four levels of this. One level is you don't want Iran to get nuclear weapons. The next level is a changed Iran could be a force for peace in the Middle East. If you had Middle East peace, if you have the Abraham Accords that were extended to Iran, and that's an if, but if it happened, you would have a part of the world that has been the source of all the world's major conflicts for the last 50 years. at peace and it would be one of the world's major trade regions it could become a it's just a world would be a different place and then the next level of this is what president trump is doing in the strategic sense is he wants to have the united states control world energy So we have the American energy oil and natural gas. We're now the world's largest oil, one of the largest oil exporters. We are the world's largest natural gas, LNG exporters. We now control the Venezuelan oil. We have an influence over a number of countries in the Middle East, the Gulf Arab countries, particularly the United Arab countries, which just quit OPEC. If you could get Iran in that constellation where we would have influence over their...

1:34:01

oil and their energy, we would then dominate, I don't know, 75, 80% of the world's energy. The only thing that China would have left is really Russia. So what's the next step? And this is the really critical dimension that looks out over a generation, is that the country which has technology married to cheap energy, is going to be the country that controls artificial intelligence, quantum computing, really controls the future. Now, when you look at the globe, there are many countries or several countries have a lot of abundant energy. As I said, Venezuela, Iran, Saudi Arabia, the United States. Which countries have superior technological capabilities by an order of magnitude? The United States and China. There's only one country that has both. The United States, with its technological superiority and innovation and creativity, married up to cheap energy, puts us in a position of being the sole superpower for a generation. China doesn't have any energy. That's why it's so critical for them now. No, I agree. Right now we are the only superpower. China. Power, Russia power. The only superpower right now is us. You know, you mentioned the word courage talking about Reagan and Trump, and they both got shot. Obviously, Reagan's was a lot more serious. Hinkley almost killed him. Then he went back and he continued to serve for years after that assassination attempt. And again, he got, he was pretty messed up Ronald Reagan. Trump, they've tried to shoot three times and they hit his ear, of course, back in Butler. So when you talk about courage, You're talking about two guys. Now, neither, thank God, was assassinated like John F. Robert F. Kennedy Jr. or Lincoln. But you're talking about two guys that have actually been shot on the job, pretty intense. And I think that the similarity between the two of them is that Reagan, after he survived, you know, almost killed in an assassination attempt. He said, and others around him said he was a changed man. He felt he was a man of destiny, that God had kept him alive to do something really important in the world. And that was take down the Soviet Union and world peace. And from President Trump, I think he's also a changed man, certainly since Butler. You know, if you look at the things he was saying in his first term and compared to now, in his first term, a lot of it was about him and about how he was going to do this, he was going to do that. Now it's much more about the nation, the country. You know, he likes his fair share of praise. But now he seems much more like a man on a mission that's not about himself. but about the future of the country and really the future of the world. Yeah, sometimes I get annoyed, and you know, nobody loves him more than me, except for maybe you. I mean, I adore the man, love him, and sometimes I want him to be the Trump of 2016-17. Like, I don't care what he says to me, that guy, 2016-2017, would be trashing Zohran Mamdani right now.

1:36:57

And this guy, because he wants New York to thrive and the economy and all that, this guy is nine years later a little more level-headed. He's older, he's been shot, but you can try to convince me otherwise. 2016, 2017, Zohran Mamdani would be getting thrashed every day by Trump. Yes, but I think that the current Trump is a shrewder Trump. So if you look at the Middle East, we knew, he knew that the Strait of Hormuz was going to be closed. That's always Iran's go-to move that did it in Reagan. They've done it many times in the past. But this Trump was waited carefully for that to happen. And then he could spring the trap. And the trap was the blockade. In the past, we haven't had the military assets in the region to do a blockade. Trump had them pre-positioned because of the first two months of the Iran War. They were already there ready to spring the trap. If I look at President Trump and what he's doing with Zohran Mamdani, I mean, I'm guessing, but I think this comes to a crisis in New York where... Zohran Mamdani is going to ask the state to bail him out because, you know, it's not going to work everything he's doing. And the state doesn't have any money. And so Zohran Mamdani will turn to Trump and he'll say, well, you bail me out. Just like what happened when Jerry Ford was president, when they turned to New York, New York had to turn to the federal government and said, bail me out, bail us out. And Jerry Ford said drop dead. Right. And that's when New York went into bankruptcy. Well, Trump already said drop dead. He already said it to Kathy Hochul. Drop dead. I'm not helping you. Drew McIntyre here from WWE. Weilding the Claymore can be a life of chaos. When I'm not dominating in the ring, Chumba Casino is how this warrior takes a wee break. I'm not helping you, but when Zohran Mamdani asks, Trump will say drop dead, but he will say, I've given you every chance. Yep. I've been a good guy to you. You haven't taken it up. You haven't, you're still having the sanctuary city stuff. You're still doing all the silly things that you're doing. I've given you every chance. You haven't taken every chance. Drop dead. I got to think I love that drop dead. Oh, KD. I got to think that Trump knows Ken Griffin pretty well. And Ken Griffin's $50 billion. And then, you know, on the way out here, the way Zohran Mamdani.

1:39:33

Treated Charles III. I don't care if you think the royalty is a joke or not. That idiot Curtis is like, I agree with Zohran Mamdani. They're a bunch of, you know, what are you talking about? You've got, the guy comes here. There's a tremendous job speaking in front of Congress, tremendous, by the way. Goes down to Sacred Soil 9-11. And this idiot, Zohran Mamdani is talking about a piece of jewelry that was given to the English 93 years ago that nobody cares about. He's taking smiling selfies, KT. McBorland, smiling selfies. Down at the side of 9-11, the mayor doesn't realize he shouldn't be doing that. By the way, Kathy Hochul and Julie Menon did the same thing. So just now, again, an opportunity for Zohran Mamdani to be a true ambassador for New York, and he literally pisses in the face of Charles III. What an idiot. Oh, he's the same guy who told Ken Griffin, we don't want you here. You know, how's that going to work? It's not going to work at all because everyone with any kind of, you know, business interests in New York City is looking at not only their own personal stake of, oh, am I going to get taxed because I have this second residence, but everybody who works for them. So what Zohran Mamdani is really doing is saying, rich people leave. We don't want you. And what does that do to the New York economy? It causes it to go into free fall even more quickly. And then I think that the Trump final, you know, patient move of President Trump, I think that he has the option then of saying to Zohran Mamdani, drop dead. Yeah, he started that with a two social a couple of weeks ago. When he actually did say, Zohran Mamdani is, quote, in capital letters, destroying New York City. KT, you're not. You're beautiful. You're great. We love you every Friday. Thank you for another amazing appearance. Have yourself a great weekend. We'll do it again next week. Thank you so much. Thank you. God bless you. KT. Sid and Friends in the morning on the Red Apple Podcast Network. One of my favorite albums ever. I'm so old, I just said albums. Did you hear that? Unforgettable Fire by U2. This is the title track from that album. Actually, the first song on Side 2. Remember that, Norm? When we had sides for records. Yeah. It's a great album. You've got Pride in this album. In the name of love, you know that song. And I hope I sort of homecoming is on this album. Unforgettable Fire. I want to say about...

1:42:36

1984, maybe, or 85 for you too. That sounds right. You know, I was trying to explain to my kids the other day, like, what a stereo system was. Stereo system, I know. You know, like, I said, you had to see the setup I had in my bedroom and how much money I dropped on it. I know. And now we're like this little Bluetooth speaker is kind of doing the exact same thing, which is amazing. But it's not as fun. See, I used to live in Brooklyn, 2216 Quentin Road. And I live right by Kings Highway. Kings Highway in Brooklyn is this kind of major thoroughfare. They've got stores and for blocks and blocks and blocks. And my next door neighbor, Joseph and I, we used to love to walk to Kings Highway and buy baseball cards and do all that type of stuff. But there was also a place called Jimmy's Music Factory. on Kings Highway, and we would go, and we can spend an hour in that record store just looking at the album covers, you know, and it was fun. Yeah. It was fun. Now, you kind of had some of that when they had the CDs before the DVDs, the CDs. Yeah, but you lost like the liner notes and all that stuff. Yeah, all that cool. The album covers, it was so much fun. Now, look. I must have destroyed a thousand albums as a kid because you have to be very, very careful with the way you place the needle and all that nonsense, you know. But that stuff was fun. I used to set up my album covers and sometimes by color, sometimes, by the, you know, the style of music and all that good stuff, you know, and it's all over now. Yeah, I had the, I had the brush where you'd put, like, the drops on the album to clean the... Oh, you had that? Oh, yeah, you know, I went, I had like a technique, so is that the name of it? I had like a high-end, you know, turntable, I remember. And then so I wanted to make sure the album sounded as good as possible. And so I'd put these little drops on a brush, and I would put it over the hour. It actually worked? Who knows? You know, it's probably nonsense. Yeah. It's probably water for all I know. Right. My sisters, because I've got two older sisters, one baby sister, Ray Sherry and Alana, they had those little albums, what were they called, 45s? Yeah, yeah. They were small, circular albums, and they had, like, the Beatles and all that stuff because they were around for that era. My sister, Alana, especially, was at that age of Woodstock. I was born in 1967, so I was only two years old, maybe no two was two during Woodstock. But when I was a kid, I had all my sister's 45s. I have no idea. Well, that stuff is now. No idea, but it was just different. It was fun. Did they have it in that little box? My mother had this little white box. Yeah. And they were, you know, this big pole, like in the middle of this white box. And that's where they were able to store like 50 or 100 of these at one time, you know. And I loved it. You know, look, I'm one of those people. I don't love everything about this new age era. You know, I don't. I take advantage of it. You have to, don't you? And the phone is nice and easy and convenient. You do everything on your phone. I mean everything. But I liked a lot of the good old stuff. You know, for me, my favorite morning, especially on the weekend. I was a little kid and I was not in school, would be to get the New York Post.

1:45:53

sit there and have a bowl of cocoa pebbles. Oh, the best. The best. And the sports section. I never read the front of the paper, obviously. And no one had a better sports section. Nobody on the New York Post. There was no ESPN.com. No online. So I would sit there, I'd get milk all over the box cord. I'd know what the hell out of me because it would move the ink, you know. But to sit there and read my baseball box scores and have a bowl of cocoa pebbles or whatever I had, fruit loops or whatever it was. I could do it for an hour. I loved it. Doesn't happen anymore. No, and, you know, you miss out that sharing part of it, because I can remember being at the table reading the paper, too, and I would flip it to the standings. I'd want to see, you know, how the Phillies were doing, whatever. Right. But also, there was that shared music, right? Because now all the music's in your ears, right? Everybody's listening, you know, with some form of a headphone or earbuds. I remember, you know, I would blast albums in my house, and, you know, sometimes there'd be arguments about the music. I remember my mother, you know, would blast her own stuff like Barbara Streisand. I was, you know, I'd heard music that kids would never hear now because I had to listen to her music as well. You know what I mean? So I liked some of it, I realized, you know, I never admitted it at the time. Well, you just did, didn't you? I loved Barbara Streisand. So do I. And my parents loved her, too. We'd have these big barbecues upstate during the summer, and my dad actually... bought like Barbara Streisand's 50 greatest hits or something, you know. And I'd be sitting there singing the way we were. And nobody does that anymore. You don't blast the music in the house. No one does anything anymore. I don't even know necessarily what my kids are listening to a lot of times. I don't know. You know, it's the world is filled with craziness. I'm serious. Craziness. You know? I mean, I'm a, I think you know this about me or you guys. In my audience, that's why I'm so popular. I'm a pretty easy guy. You know, I like what I like. I don't get crazy about most. I mean, I hate the mayor, obviously, but, you know, I tend to enjoy most things. I tend to give most people the benefit of the doubt except for Democrats. I just, I don't know what the hell happened here. I don't know what's gone on in this world. People are always angry. They're, you know. They're angry. They've got all these crazy theories and... You know, I just approach every day with the attitude that it's going to be a good day, you know, and I enjoy the things I enjoy and the stuff that makes me angry. You know me, no one's gone in 60 seconds. Yeah. You don't even see that stuff when I'm off the air, almost never. And I just, I miss a lot of the old stuff that was easy. It was cheap, you know. Didn't cost a lot, maybe a quarter to buy the newspaper. rather than a thousand dollar phone and it was better people say things are different no it was it really was and you know everybody talks about this affordability crisis a lot of it is all this new you know is everything we're paying for i know that we weren't paying for 30 years ago yeah yeah i would go out with joseph and we'd play stoop ball we'd play stick ball it was great you know stayed the park for hours and hours and hours there was no roblox There was no... Whatever else my son used to play. I don't know. Thank God he's not like one of those people, but there was none of that nonsense. Now, look, I was a kid when the Atari 2,600 came out, and I went nuts. And I had the very first ever Commodore 64.

1:49:19

So I was around for all that. My brother-in-law, Albert, owned a electronic store, a very popular electronic store in Brooklyn. Two of them really Warren's World on Ocean Avenue, and then Brooklyn Magna Box on Nostrand Avenue. So I was around for all that. I worked for him, actually. I saw Activision come alive with Kaboom, if you remember, on Atari, and then all the Mattel stop and all the Colico Vision and all that, and it was all kind of cool. But I had no idea we get to the point where now my kids play games where I look at the screen and it's the real guy. Like I'm pretty sure LeBron James is playing basketball in my son's room every night. Sometimes you can't tell the difference. I think he's there. I swear to God, it's just insane. No, AI is great, but it's not. But I don't worry about it because I tell everybody they go, sit, aren't you worried? AI is taken over. No, I've said this a thousand times. I'll say it again. The reason why people become popular, the reason why people become beloved figures, not just hated, is because there's an authenticity that a computer can never, ever, ever copy. So I don't worry about AI. They can copy my voice. They can copy my schick and all that. That's great. But I've got an originality and an authenticity and a soul. AI has no soul. It's a computer. That's it. human beings, we've got soul. So don't worry about it, okay? Don't worry about it. We'll be fine. But I could do without a lot of this stuff. I really could. Let's take a break. Three more great guests still to come. Again, we'll talk to Dick Girardi next hour, the Kentucky Derby tomorrow. I do enjoy those three races, the Derby, the Preakness, and if there's a chance at a Triple Crown, the Belmont. And don't forget, folks, this year, the Belmont is in Saratoga. Because they're rebuilding the track. Belmont comes back to Belmont next year. This year it's in Saratoga. We'll also talk to Joe Takapina and Michael Rappaport. Rappaport, the great comedic actor. He's coming up next on the Friday edition of Sid and Friends in the morning. Sid and Friends in the morning on the Red Apple Podcast Network. Here he is. Everybody loves this guy. Comedic actor extraordinaire Michael Rappaport. Michael, good morning, buddy. How are you? Sid, you got it exactly right. That's why I chose that song. Also, it's a Friday. The weather's nice. Wanted to start the day off slow and then build some momentum into the weekend. Didn't want to come in with too much Ron, right after the Knicks. What did they win by 70 points last time? Mike, I've been watching basketball a long time, and I just turned 59 last Sunday. I've never seen a game where it was 72 to 22 in the second quarter, ever. Yeah, me neither. I've never seen a regular season game, a preseason game. I've never, you know, I coached a championship team in California, 13-year-olds. We won the championship. That's a different story for a different day. I've never seen that kind of romp. But listen, we won the series. We were supposed to win the series, and that's it. That's all it was. It's a first round victory of a team that was struggling. the Atlanta Hawks, and now we move on. There's nothing to celebrate, nothing to get cocky about. We have a Philadelphia team that is, you know, starting to click, and obviously Boston's always going to be a problem, and it's only the second round. It's nothing. We've been through this. Every time we talk about the Nick Sid, we talk about the heartbreak, the horror.

1:52:52

just the devastation. So it's the second round, and now we move forward. That's it. Well, you talk about Boston. I mean, they're not going to lose a game seven at home, but it is shocking, almost as shocking as the Knicks' second quarter score last night is the fact that the 76ers have moved this to a seventh game. Tyler Redick here from 2311 racing. Victory Lane? Yeah, it's even better with Chumba by my side. Race to ChumbaCasino.com. Let's Chumba. No purchase necessary. VGW Group. Void were prohibited by law. CTNCs, 21 Plus, sponsored by Chumba Casino. I'm not that surprised. You know, Joelle Ambide is, when he's healthy, if he could stay healthy. I mean, he's literally... game to game. But if he could stay healthy, you know, he's a whole other beast out there. So I wouldn't be, listen, I wouldn't bet against Boston in game seven. But I was thinking about this. If the Knicks play Philly, I hate the Philadelphia fans, love the city of Philly. I love the people of Philadelphia. But as far as Philadelphia, Philadelphia Eagles fans, let me ask you this. Which fans do you think are more despicable, more savage? Boston sports fans or Philadelphia sports fans? It's not even close. Philadelphia fans are the biggest scumbags in the country. Not even close. Over Philly? Philly's the worst, not Boston Billy. Oh, okay, okay, okay. I mean, I don't know, Sid, it's tough, man. It is tough. Those Patriot fans in their heyday, obviously, you know, they're, you know, on the way back, but in their heyday, and Boston Red Sox fans, this is a corrosion. This is a corrosion. This is a breed into itself, Boston Red Sox fans. And then you have the Bruin fans. I don't even know how they fill that place up. They let people out of prison to go watch these animals. These are animals. And I'll never forget as a child being, you know, people talk about trauma and PTSD. I will never forget as a child being scarred. It was like literally a scary movie in real life when those goons, Terry O'Reilly and company, went into the garden while they were playing the Rangers and beat. people up with their own shoes. Yeah. This is the late 70s, so the shoes were not like cushioned. No. This is hard wood shoes. But I remind you, we got revenge that night because the great Nikki Vitille went into the stands and started beating up Boston people with his shoes. Yeah. And listen. Isn't he, like, he's alive, right? He's alive, he's alive. He's, you know, one of those guys like Joey Koser, you know, I guess to a certain extent, guys like Beck and Uber, but Uber, but Ty Domi, Ty Domi was that guy, too. They just went on the ice and they beach up, you know? They scared the hell out of you. Fatigueu was the best. You ever have him on the show?

1:55:48

Oh, years and years ago when I was still doing sports on FAA, not this show, obviously, because I don't do sports like that, but I've had everybody on when I did sport, sure. I love those guys. I love when the Rangers had those guys that just beat people up. The sport is different now, but the sport is different. But I will tell you that going to an Eagles Giants game many years ago, we were being called all kinds of horrible words, and it was really scary. I was scared, and the Eagles won that day. Randall Cunningham and the Eagles, they blew out my Giants. killed us. They were still angry, these psychopans. And imagine the shock when me and my dad got to the parking lot and our car was turned upside down. True story. Veterans Stadium, swear to God. Veteran Stadium, Philadelphia. Remember they had the jail at the stadium? Yeah. These are not sports. I'm talking to these are convicts. I think they let them out for the games. You know, it's gentrified a little bit now, but I wouldn't, I wouldn't show, let me say something, I wouldn't go to a Philadelphia Eagles fan even without a giant jersey on. Just because they'd recognize me. I'd be afraid for my life. Even with just as this, with neutral clothes on, I'd be scared to go to that place. It was a very, very scary place. There's no question about it. But no, maybe not scared that we're witnessing right now in New York City. I love going to your Instagram account every day and watching you. Bash. Zohran Mamdani, like you do every day. It's great. You know, yesterday again, another great video. Every day this guy does something, whether it's overtaxing the rich and trying to get people to leave or what he did to Charles III, which I thought was pretty grotesque or just every day. I mean, Mike, are you not surprised this guy does this every day and is not getting a bigger reaction? See, this is why I consider you my brother, Sid, because the word surprise came up last night when I saw that tweet about from Zohran Mamdani the Moron. That's what I call him. That's what it would be called Zohran Mamdani the Moron, period. Okay? When I saw his tweet about the another flotilla. This is a week of tweets and garbage and bull crap. I mean, but to see that last thing about a flotilla that got, they told you, don't, Greta and your flotilla freaks don't come. If you come, we're going to arrest you. And every single time they come, they get arrested. And people are baffled. See, these are people that didn't grow up with rules and consequences. You know, their parents never, they never disciplined them. They never dealt with consequences. So they think. when the world in Israel says there's a war going on. This is not safe. This is international war. If you come here, we're going to arrest you animals, you scumbags. And then when they get arrested, they complain and they cry. And Zohran Mamdani the moron who, I mean, you know that rent is at an all-time high right now, Mr. Free Rent? Yeah. I saw that. But so when you ask you about the word surprise, I just feel like I'm a glutton for punishment and I'm an optimist. And I haven't, maybe I haven't had enough of the, I haven't eaten enough of the dog doo-do. But I was surprised. I was like, how dare you mention anything that's going on outside of the five roads? You shouldn't even mention anything that's going on in Albany, upstate, Jersey, Chicago, Minnesota. You're the mayor of this city. Tyler Redick here from 2311 racing. Another checkered flag for the books.

1:59:17

Time to celebrate with Chumba. Jump in at Chumbacasino.com. Let's Chumba. No purchase necessary. VTW Group. Boyd were prohibited by Ma. CTNCs, 21 Plus, sponsored by Chumba Casino. You're the mayor of Dicity. What are you talking about international and your people? What are you going to do about it, Zohran Mamdani the Moron? If they arrested people... for their flotilla and some of them are New Yorkers. What are you going to do about it, tough guy? Nothing. Nothing. Nothing. Nothing. Nothing. Right. You shouldn't be talking about the king. You shouldn't be talking about England. All those things. I mean, especially, look, you're standing. That's sacred soil. I'm sorry. I knew people who died in those buildings. Come on, man. You're the mayor of New York. We know you hate America. We got it. Forget about Israel and the Jews. We know you hate America. Okay. We got it. But at least act. You know, he stands and he's talking about Charles III and a piece of jewelry that they gave to the English Indian 93 years ago. And then, then he commits the biggest crime of all. Not just him. The wretched governor, Kathy Hochul, even Julie Menon, they take... A smiling selfie. Yep. Right in front of the Freedom Tower. Yep. It's, you know, he's, he's. Worse than I thought. His rhetoric is worse than I thought. I think that whole thing with the king was a staged question. I don't think that that was a, you know, like I think he was prepared for it. You know what he's like? He's like a social media guy. He did it for the gram. He did it for TikTok. He set the question up. He had the answer in his pocket. And, you know, it's all for some you and I could discuss it. He thinks it's great when people are triggered. Yes, I'm triggered. I live 10 blocks away from that stained Gracie mansion. I'm triggered. I wake up for the, I love this city. I love this city. I am triggered. I have no shame. You're not going to shame, shame me about being triggered. You're not going to shame me about having emotions, about caring, about sniffing that dog doodles. I smell it. I smell it. I walk the streets and I smell it. And then I got a good, I got a good sniffer. And it always leads me right to, right to Carl Schultz Park outside of Gracie Mansion every day. So it's, it's frustrating. And I'd be totally honest, Sid, you know, I know, we talk about the mayorial running in 2029, the campaign. I'm going to tell you this, whoever else is listening that might be thinking about running for mayor. And you know that my consideration is totally real. Yep. But if you think anyone is going to go out there and out BS him and out finesse him and out smile him, don't waste your time. Don't waste people's votes. The only way to get this guy out.

2:01:59

is to turn the 29 mayoral campaign into a street fight mentality. Not literally, but it has to be dirty. It's got to be ugly. It's got to be messy. And it's got to be must watch TV. There is no other politician that I am aware of that has the ability to out. He might be the greatest bull crapper in political history. And we're talking about some of the best of all times. So if anybody's thinking about, um, Running for mayor, don't think you're going to do it the cute way. It's going to have to be in a completely unorthodox street fight mentality, trap fling, doodoo fling way. Otherwise, we're going to have eight years of this clown. No, eight years. I know. And right now, it seems like that's going to be the trend. A lot of people saying they're going to run, they're going to run. Some, okay, some stop. But if you did run, I'm curious. No, Sid, no, Sid. Let me ask you a question outside of myself and you. Yeah. What quote-unquote real politicians are saying they're going to run? Well, they haven't said it publicly, but I'm telling you it's a good bet that the police commissioner Jessica Tisch is going to run. That's a big one. I love Jessica Tisch. I love her. I think she's great. She won't beat them. Okay. I think the speaker of the city council, Julie Menon, is going to run. Nope. Okay. And I say that with respect. I agree with you. I agree with you. I agree with you. But the bigger question is, Mike, if you did run, and you'd have to make that announcement relatively soon, would you run as a Republican, which I know you say you're not, you're not, you're not, but you're closer to that these days in the Democrat or an independent? I would run. I mean, I'm not going to answer that because I don't want to put myself in a box, but I'm not going to do anything that won't put me into the best position to win. Okay. So, and if it means, you know, A, I'll do A. If it means B, it means B. I have never been to the Capitol. I've never been to the White House. I have no allegiance to any politicians. There is no agenda. I don't want to be governor. I don't want to be a senator. I don't want to be a congressman. I want our city to be respectful. I want our city, I want the people of our city to feel proud. I want us to truly be united. I don't want a divisive mayor in New York City. I have no agenda. I don't want to be president. There's no nothing. I want our city. No, it's true. Literally. I know. Listen, I think you love this city as much as anybody I know. Here you are. I can't stand bull crap. I know that. So. So I think you probably should. My question to you, though, is can you still act being all these great movies you're in? Can you still do stand-up comedy once you start running for mayor? Well, when the campaign gets serious, you know, I would have to like two years out. No, I'd have to focus on it. And I would focus on it 150%. I'm not going to play games. I'm not going to wait. Wait a second. You're telling me you're willing to give up. A night in the clubhouse with Andy Cohen on the Bravo channel to try to fix this city? Really? Why can't I go on? Why can't I go on? Why can't I talk about the real housewise of Rhode Island? Why can't I talk about the real housewise of Beverly Hills? I don't have to go on there and dispeas.

2:05:17

spew my political campaign. No, I know. He should be so lucky to have the next mayor of New York City come on there and wax poetic about all things. Talking about the reunion last night with Kyle and Erica. No, listen, I think you should honestly think about it because to your point, it needs to be a brawl in the street, which I'm wanting to do too. But it needs to be somebody who doesn't love the position, who doesn't love the job, but someone who loves... The city. The city. And the people that you mentioned, like I said, they're both great. They're both respectful. They're not going to win. I'm talking about if you're going to win, it needs to be akin to Trump in 2015, but even on steroids. It needs to be something like out of a movie. And I'm not saying turning into a freak show and turning into disrespect. But. Someone needs to go at him. I would attack him the way he attacks New Yorkers in the subtle way, but I would make a straight line. Where's your wife? Where's Rama? She was all at the fashion shows. She was all doing the photo shoots. And then we found out what kind of evil. social media person she is. We found out it was confirmed. We knew. We knew because those dark, beady, dark eyes, we had a feeling she was evil. And then we saw that on October 7th, she was tweeting and tweeting and liking and liking. And also, Zohran Mamdani on the morning, what were you doing on October 7th while you were you in the corner, you know, oiling yourself up? What were you doing while your wife was liking all these tweets? Yeah. Sir, Mayor, answer that question. He's going to answer the question is what's going to happen. Yeah, you never has. He's been asked out a couple of times, and all he says is, I love my wife. That's great. I'm glad you love your wife. Good for you. I mean. Why are you smiling, sir? Mr. Mayor, why are you smiling? If things are so bad, rent is at an all-time high, affordability's at all-time high, what's with the smile? See, you're in a tough spot because you spent a lot of years in Hollywood because, again, you're a big time actor. I love all your movies. I do, man. You're a really good actor. I know. I know you don't. So you would be in Hollywood quite a bit. You really came back to New York, I guess, after COVID to be a full-time New Yorker again. But it's not even like, you know what? This mayor is so bad. I'm going to stop spending my time on the Upper East Side. I'm going back to Hollywood because that... That city, Los Angeles, is just as bad, maybe worse. Completely. But I will tell you, I, you know, I never met Spencer Pratt. But what's going on is the fact that he's making a splash. I like him. No disrespect to Spencer Pratt. He's no Michael Rappaport. No, no, no. So in terms of, I'm not saying in terms of, you know, like what he's accomplished. I'm saying in terms of like the grit and the fight. Like, you know, he's doing a good job. He's rallied some people. And I think, you know, he's got a chance to make some impact. I don't think he's going to win, unfortunately.

2:08:19

I will learn and take from what he's doing out there and take it to this guy's chest. It'll be, it'll be like a, like the great Nikki Fatio. Yes. And Nikki Fatio, if you're out there, you want to. You want to. I could have him do something. He could be a part of the campaign. Get him in. Get him, get Joey Kosher. Listen to me. Get him. Tie Domi is a big star. You know, in Hollywood, Ty Domi's bigger than Wayne Gretzky. I swear to God, that's a true story. Do you think that a Democrat is going to win that mayor job in L.A. again? And what about this governor's race? What about this governor's race? They're saying now because there's only two Republicans, and now you've got a bunch of Democrats that had it back out, including Eric Swalwell, that the Republicans, maybe a guy like Hilton. has a decent chance. What about those races? I think that a Democrat is going to somehow some way the good people of Los Angeles, and I know so many of them, the good people in Los Angeles somehow haven't learned their lesson. And I'll be honest, you know, knowing that city very well, Los Angeles is further gone than New York City is. Wow. It's further gone of the New York City is. And New York City is a close second. Obviously, San Francisco is a zoo. They ruined that iconic, gorgeous city. I mean, they ran, talk about a nose dive. I love it there. What a beautiful city. Gorgeous. The architecture, the people, the history, and they ran it into the ground. Let me tell you something. You walk the streets of downtown San Francisco. Ready to put a little spin on your day? Then check out Chumba Casino's new online social casino game, Ryan Seacrest 10K Ways. It's free and packed with 10,000 ways to play. Only at ChambaCasino. No purchase necessary. VGW Group, voidware prohibited by law. CTs and Cs, 21 Plus, sponsored by Chumba Casino. Forget about going to an Eagles game. You need to keep your head on a swivel down there. I know, they're all junkies. It's all junkies and criminals and Packbell Park, which is a gorgeous stadium, Packbell Park. You know, I've been there many, many times. I love that city. I would have done by the Embarcadero. We get the great, you know, the soup, the clam chowder. But yeah, it's all, but it's all criminals and junkies. Don't forget. When we start talking about illegals, yes, I'm using that word, tough. Illegals killing innocent Americans. You're not supposed to use it. Democrats say it's dehumanizing, okay? But it all started with Kate. This beautiful young blonde girl who was shot and murdered on her peer in San Francisco many, many years ago. She was kind of the first of now we've seen in the last couple of months. Sheridan Gorman there in Illinois. She's a New York girl. And Richard Williams, an 83-year-old war veteran, killed on the subway tracks in New York City. And still...

2:11:09

Still, not a word from the jerk-off mayor. He'll depend Mahmoud Khalil. He'll depend Nardine. But you've got an 83-year-old Vietnam war veteran dead on your subway tracks. That guy never said one word, not a word. No, but he's worried about what's going on with the flotilla. This guy, and he... Come on. We know what it is. We know what it is. So I am urging anybody that is considering running... Don't waste people's time. Don't waste donors money if you're not ready to get in the sandbox. When I was a kid, I'd go into the sandbox. I'm talking about three, four. You get messy. You build tunnels. You have your tonka toys and all that. It needs to be that. Dirty money, they need to hose you off at the end of the debate. At the end of the day of politicking with this guy. Oh, you're going to be great in those debates. So what more? You know, if you do decide to do this, you have to decide soon. You know that, right? Because you got to start raising money. I know. I know. I'm on it. I'm on it. Well, will you at least do this? I know that I was actually on, I got to run here, but I was actually on the Larry King show. It's a true story, okay? It was on Larry King's show. And he had me at Jay-Z's Nightclub in New York, even though I was living in Miami at the time doing sports in Miami. I was at Jay-Z's Club in New York. You had Stephen A. Smith in Philadelphia, a guy named Kim Bolt-Camper down in Miami. He had all of us all over the country the night that LeBron James was going to tell us where he was going next. And, of course, he told Gray, Jim Gray, that he's taking his talents. to South Beach. Now a lot of folks do that on Instagram or Twitter. If you are going to run for mayor, will you make that major announcement right here first? I will, I will come in. To the studio, I will bring you some of your McDonald's, and I will make that announcement face to face with you. Oh, that'll be huge. It'll be huge. There won't be no call in. There won't be nothing. And I'm not even a McDonald's person like you. Sometimes you indulge. For me and you, we'll have some egg McMuffins. We will do it live on the air, shit. I do love that breakfast. Give me an egg McMuffin. Give me a hash brown and orange juice. All right. So there it is, folks. Get ready. I think it's going to happen. So if you love Michael Rappapaport, like millions and millions. of you do, and I do. That's going to be happening sometime in the very near future. Mike Rappaport is always an amazing job. Enjoy your beautiful weekend. Let's go Nix.

2:13:35

Let's go, Nick. Tell your family, I said, love, have a great week in New York. You got it, buddy. My family loves you. They all love you. Michael Rappaport right there, the great comedian. He really is a terrific comedian. I've seen a stand-up act many times at Carolines. Great actor, too. So many great movies over the year. So many great movies. We'll take a short break when we get back. My dear friend of 48 years and amazing defense attorney, the best in the world, right? Joe Takapina. He coming up next on the Friday edition of Sid and Friends in the morning. Sid and Friends in the morning on the Red Apple Podcast Network. I just got nervous. I just got this nervous pang from my son. I probably talked to the Takapina, my best buddy for 48 years. My little boy, Gabriel, is taking the SATs tomorrow morning. He's been doing great on his practice test. I mean, great. Big scores. 13, 1400s. And there's one school in particular he'd like to go to. We want him to go. And it's not in New York. And he needs a certain score to get it. He's been getting those scores on his practice test, but tomorrow it's no longer exhibition games. It's not preseason. It counts. So, Gabey, I know you're in school. You're not listening, although who knows? Good luck tomorrow, son. I'm very proudy. I love you. I'm part of my daughter, too. She's doing great work with Idala, Ava. But my son, big, big day tomorrow. So, SATs. And, you know, I didn't get a very good score on my SATs. I didn't need it. I just needed 1,000 to get into Miami. And I got a 10-10. So I went down to Coral Gables. How about you, Joe? You went to a great college, Skidmore University. Did you do well in your SATs? You know, I was open to pay. I was more focused on the hockey part of it. And then that's how I got into Skidmore, really. So did you get a full paid hockey scholarship to Skidmore? Yeah. I mean, as much as they could give for a D2 school. But yes, as much as you can get, I did. So it was. It wasn't the SAT scores. I was saving the best for last. Yeah. Well, listen, you and I were never great when it came to taking test for academics. In fact, I tell the story all the time. We went to polyp practice really expensive, you know, school, Ritzie school, all the mob kids go there. And, you know, so they have something called the polyglot. And that is the annual yearbook. And it's a beautiful book, actually, you know. And then the president of the class, whatever, they take these polls, you know, like who's most likely to succeed and who is going to do this? So I forget it was the fifth grade of the sixth grade. They had who is least likely to succeed. This is a true story, Joseph Levin. Who is least likely to succeed? And it was a tie. It was a tie between Joseph Takapina and Sid Rosenberg. say now? Blow me. I want the addendum on that because as long as they could put an addendum where it'll say that I now teach at Harvard Law School, Forbes Magazine, named me the top lawyer in the United States of America. Pretty good. And I'm the United States Army Ambassador. I mean, I'll take that addendum because that just goes to show you, you know.

2:16:44

Impossible is nothing. And if you put your mind to something, you could do it. So, yeah, I was a late bloomer. You were a late bloomer. Oh, yeah. At 14, I wasn't really ready to blossom yet, but that's okay. We hit our stride when we need to. Right. You know, they say better late than never. That's the case. I do want to ask you about James Comey. So I had Greg Jarrett, who loves you, he loves you. He was on the other day. He's the legal analyst for Box News. And I introduced the whole James Comey story by saying, I know it's silly. I swear. I go, I know it's silly. I think it's very smart for Todd Blanche to do it because Trump had enough of Pam Bondi, whether it was, you know, Epstein or she wasn't putting away all the bad guys that Trump couldn't stand, you know, like Letitia James or James Comey. So Todd Blanche is doing all those things that Pam Bondi didn't. And when you think about the names that you've been hearing to take over that job full time, whether it's Gene Piro or Harmie Dillon or Lee Zeldin mostly. Todd Blanche, I think, has put himself in a position where he's going to keep this job. He's going to keep it, and he's going to do it by making President Trump happy. So I think going after James Comey does that more than the real opportunity to get him legally. But Greg Jarrett said, well, slow down. That second charge, that's a possibility. He said, don't bet on it, but it's a possibility. What are your thoughts on the whole James Comey arrest? Look, you just hit the nail on the head. Todd, look, if you accept this role, you have to know what you're signing up for. And Todd understood what he's signing up for. Todd's a dear friend of mine. I love Todd Blanche. Todd, I think, would be the best choice for Attorney General because he has what it. He's he's ridiculously smart. He's measured. He's not. excitable. You know, he doesn't get flustered. He doesn't get, you know, the Attorney General is different. He's not the president. He doesn't have to throw bombs at people. He doesn't have to call reporters, you know, ignorant or whatever. Todd is class, and he does it well. And he's also very smart. And look, he's a former federal prosecutor. He's a, he and I were co-counsel on one of the president's cases. And we became very good friends since then, you know, and so I will tell you, I'm supposed to see him next week. Wow. He's the right guy. But, you know, part of this is. You sign up for this job. You have to understand what you're doing. And, you know, if you don't, you know, follow your boss's wishes. You know, this is not a normal administration when it comes to that. Say, let's be real. You know, the Justice Department normally had its own sort of operational protocol, not so much now. And we know that. And it's since no one's trying to hide it, right? That's the good thing about it. There's a breath of fresh air in the sense that there's no one hiding behind what it is or what it isn't. And so Todd knows that. As far as the Komi case, look, Todd had to, you know, that was obviously something that weighed very heavily on the president's mind, and I think one of the reasons Pam Bondi no longer sits in that chair anymore. And so I think Todd had to do it. It's a tough case. Let's be real. It is a tough case, but, you know, again, he put the seashells together to say 86, 47. We know 86s get rid of. It's even a tougher case, I guess, when you consider they've already done it, and it failed. They've done it and it failed. And don't forget, in this instance, the Secret Service interviewed James Comey twice over the phone and in person, and they closed the file. And they didn't think there was any threat. And James Comey took it down. It's really hard to convince the jury. That subsequently, you know, even though the Secret Service...

2:20:10

put this away and said there's no threat. And James Comey took it down and said, no, 86 to me means to get rid of. It doesn't mean murder. It means get rid of. Like I remember, you know, when someone, I was on a trip once a school trip, not all not Polly, but it was a summer thing and and some. person, like, you know, shoplifted from a store in Disneyland, and she was removed from the property from Disneyland. And she was 86th. That was the first time I've ever heard that phrase. That was a kid. That's what 86. I mean, so 86 has a lot of different meaning. So it's not solely true. If, look, if 86 meant to assassinate, that'd be a different argument. See, shells, I've never. seen a federal case with the entire evidence is based on seashells. This will be interesting. But look, I think the purpose was to get him under charge again and to push forward in. And that's it. I don't think this is the case that, you know, I don't think this is. The greatest case ever. No, look, and you've represented President Trump twice and did a great job. I thought a really good job with Eugene Carroll and the Brad case, too. So you guys have nice history. I know he's, you know, every now and then I guess he still correspond. I don't know for sure, but I would bet that's the case. Okay, so. Hey, it's Bubba Wallace from 2311 racing. You know what feels like forever? sitting on a plane waiting for takeoff. Good thing, I've got Jumba Casino. With daily boost and social casino games on tap, this is a kind of fun that makes time fly. Why not turbocharge your downtime? Play now at Jumbacasino.com. Let's Jumba. Sponsored by Chumba Casino. No purchase necessary. VGW Group, Ford, where prohibited by law, 21 plus, terms and conditions apply. Do you believe, Joseph, that they try to kill him again? Do you believe it? When you say they said, I'm not, I'm see, I'm really not a conspiracy theorist. I'm just not. No, when I say they, when I say they, I'm not talking about Iran or me either. I'm talking about the Democrats. I'm talking about Trump haters. I'm with you. I'm not talking about George Soros. Every time there's a protest or a rally, no, it's not. There's a lot of losers out there who can't wait to do stuff like that. So I'm with you all that. A lot of losers, right? So when you just said the word the Democrats, I don't think this guy represents. I don't think the Democrats got together and said, okay, you go try and kill him. And some lunatic who obviously is a hater, and, and, you know, I don't know. It's weird. The whole thing was weird. Obviously, thank God he never got even got not got close. And, you know, if that was your real, if that was really your goal, you know, do what he, this guy did because he was never going to get close. But I don't think there was any. made a conspiracy Biden. It's just another mentally ill individual. He's a loser. Yeah, of course. I mean, look at his plan. I mean, you know, there's a lot of people bashing the Secret Service. Okay, fine, he got past the initial thing, perimeter. He ran through the metal detector. He never came close to the President. They did what they had to do. You know, and the truth is, if you really study this, it's less Secret Service and more the venue. You can't have it in a hotel with this 3,000 guests. Literally on the top floor right above you just milling around. That's the biggest issue with this, not the Secret Service. But it's become very...

2:23:15

call these days to bash the Secret Service. I told you, President Trump texted me Sunday morning. I texted him first. I said, glad you're okay, but you saw the text, right? He said, thanks to the Secret Service again today. Now, he wasn't saying that after Butler, Pennsylvania, when he got shot. But again today, he thanked the Secret Service, so you're a guy, you're on Army guys, and these types of people. It was fine, right? Secret service is great. I mean, listen, I've been around them. You know, when I was representing the president, I was getting death threats that for a second, I didn't lose a second of sleep over, because most people who give you death threats via email, you know, are sitting in their mom's basement in their underwear typing, or I'm going to kill you, okay? I didn't think for a second they were valid, okay? But, you know, they're duty-pound to act on those sort of things. So I had a secret service, like, you know, detailed. for a little wild because of those debt threats. And these guys are the most professional and professional. I mean, they're terrific. And they always put themselves in harm's way at all times. You know, so they, you know, it's walking those shoes for five minutes, please. Walk in those shoes for five minutes when you're the one who has to put yourself between a bullet and a person. Okay. They do a great job. And, you know, the person's not one to give people compliments if he doesn't really think they're doing a good job. So, you know, the fact that he's saying that is something that I think is. to be fine. He's kind to his people and he does appreciate that. He's actually a pretty nice guy, President Trump. Talk to me about this. New York is set to pass the most extreme. This one, you can't even make this up. New York is set to pass from the Post. The most extreme sanctuary policies as Kathy Hochul and Albany Dems near an anti-ice deal. So I talked about this with Brian Kilmeade this morning. Look. I'm a nice guy, not nice ice. You know, I'm sorry that Alex Pretti was killed in Minnesota, but... He shouldn't have been there. I'm sorry Renee Good was killed in Minnesota. She shouldn't have been there. And the truth is, when you look at the amount of criminals they took off the streets and deported and missing children, they found. That number exceeds 7,000. Tom Homan did a tremendous job in Minnesota. All we talk about are two people who, quite frankly, were instigators. They didn't deserve to die, okay? But two people compared to 7,000, and now all these cities are going after ice, like they're the bad guys, especially... New York. What in God's name are we doing? I said, you know, let's be clear. This so-called sanctuary expansion in New York isn't about compassion, because that's what I read Kathy Hochul's comments, okay? It's about cutting off communication between law enforcement agencies, and that makes people less safe. Period. Game set and match. We spent decades after 9-11, breaking down what's called silos between agencies because we learned the hard way. When cops don't share information, bad things happen.

2:26:06

Now Albany wants to rebuild those walls on purpose, on purpose, right? These policies don't just target bad actors. They create blanket restrictions that tie the hands of the police, even when coordination with federal authorities could stop trafficking, gangs or repeat offenders, violent offenders. And here's the problem. Criminals don't operate in silos. They exploit them. So when you tell the local police, they can't work with federal agents. You're not protecting communities. You're creating these wide gaps that criminals walk right through. So look, you can protect civil rights and still enforce the law, right? That's not controversial. That's common sense. But this thing that Koko is doing goes way too far. This is politics override in public safety. And at the end of the day, New Yorkers deserve a system where law enforcement works together, not one where they're legally forced to look the other way. And that's what we have here. It's just, it's so damn ridiculous. It's not even funny anymore. So you don't protect communities by cutting off communication between law enforcement. No. So silly. No, it's doing the opposite. One more for you. George Orwell's book, 1984, that was, believe it or not, over 40 years ago already, 1984. But, you know, we talked about Big Brother watching you. And now between your phone, that's watching your license plate, there are even stores now, grocery stores, right? You're walking to a grocery store. And they take a palm print or a face print. And right away, they've got all your personal information. I don't think people even realize. In fact, I know they don't. They don't even realize sometimes they walk into a store how they're really being, how their privacy is being invaded. They've got no idea. So I think it's great that the Supreme Court is going after Big Brother. What are your thoughts? Oh, Sid, me too. I mean, this is one of those rare cases. The Supreme Court this week's on to decide this. One of those rare cases where the Supreme Court isn't just interpreting the law. It's just really deciding what freedom looks like in the digital age, okay? So to me, if the government can track your face, it can track your life. This is about control, not convenience, okay? We're one court ruling away from turning every American into a walking barcode. Okay? Wow. This is, it's crazy, absolutely crazy what you can do now. So let me try and explain this the way, you know, someone can understand. This case is about one thing, the Supreme Court case that will be decided this week, whether the government can track you without you ever knowing it. Okay, we're literally watching the Constitution collide with 21st century surveillance technology. And so the issue is in crime fighting. It's how far the government could go without a warrant. So technology has now completely outpaced the law. Courts now have to decide is consistent digital tracking consider the search. Like the Constitution doesn't change, of course, technology does. But just imagine, you know, once they get your face, they're insulting with Madison Square Garden, right, or any of those properties. You walk in there, they know when you go to the bathroom, when you, whatever you buy there. Like, if you said a bad thing about Jim Dolan in the past, the security is all over you in there.

2:29:12

And this is unlike wiretaps and searches. This happens without your knowledge. So Americans can be tracked in public spaces in real time. And there are massive database that already exist with millions of faces. Don't get me wrong. Oh, yeah. So there's over half of the United States adults already have facial recognition systems in place. So it's, to me, it's too much. It's scary, and it's Big Brother, like, on steroids. It really is. So what is the Supreme Court hear this already? Where are we with that? They've heard it. They're going to decide it this week. They're going to decide this week. Look, here's the argument. On the government side, it says, well, it helps stop crime. It finds suspects and prevents terrorism. But on the privacy side, it creates this permanent tracking system of innocent Americans. So, you know, it's the same old debate, right? But now we have AI watching every single move we make. And the Supreme Court decision will likely sit national precedent. I mean, this is it. This is to determine whether warrants are required. how long data can be stored where the mass surveillance is constitutional. So this isn't just about criminals. It's about every American walking down the street. It's crazy. I got a friend, Big, who says medical info, they could read that from your palm. Medical info. They can read from your palm. I don't know how that's okay when we don't know about it. Look, you know, I tend to, I like surveillance. And I want to find the criminals and all that stuff. But, you know, if I'm going to the store. Yeah, I know, but if I'm going to the store to buy bananas, I mean, leave me alone, you know. This case is going to decide really if privacy still exists in public or if the idea is that it's officially dead. This is it. Because I'm telling you, our founding fathers never imagined facial recognition. That's crazy. But they absolutely feared unchecked governmental power. And we're getting close. We are getting close. You know what? I'm pissed off now because. To get into my cell phone, besides putting in my six-digit code, I do use the facial recognition thing. I may shut that off today now that I'm so pissed off about this. If the Supreme Court doesn't go away, I'm going to shut off facial recognition on my phone. How about that? No, you won't. Then you have to type in the damage. I know it's a pain in the ass. I know, I know. No, but it is scary. That is a scary story. It listens to everything you say. I know, man, I know. There's all of a sudden, like, I'll be passing stuff. They'll be like, ooh, there's an Army, you know, bag in the store. I'm like, how do you know what I'm like anything to do with the Army? Like, why are you giving me that information? So are you telling me that every time Justin watches porn, which is often throughout the day, people know that? Of course. And it's like... Justin, do you hear this? Justin. And he puts on crazy stuff. And Justin's asked me about that. He's like, how do I protect my debt when I'm watching porn? I'm just from Justin. I needed to know. You have to hire me. Do we sit, you hire me, Bernie? I can't afford you. Joe, I cannot afford it. No, no, no. I'll give you. You get the friends and family. Okay, fine.

2:32:04

Please just alone. He's a star. We're laughing about it, but it's a very serious topic. Seriously, that's not cool. So I hope the Supreme Court wins next week. And we'll get you back on to talk about all of that. Joe Tocopina, you're amazing. Never disappoint another great appearance today. I love you, pal. Thank you. Okay, I love you guys. Take care. That was great. Joe Ticapina. Some serious stuff we discussed today between... The mayor's race and Supreme Court and the sanctuary city policies and a whole bunch of good stuff. Great job by Joe Takapina. Sid and Friends in the Morning on the Red Apple Podcast Network. Now I'm Leiden Phil Susan Collins, who is an amazing percussionist himself. You guys know, I know you know that already, but one of the great drummers ever. Hey, guys, it's Ryan. I want to tell you about my new pastime, Chumba Casino. Chumba Casino has been around for over a decade delivering the most fun you can have online. Play social casino-style games for free, anytime, anywhere. So sign up at chumbac casino.com. No purchase necessary. VGW. Right there with, Norm, you'll know this name, Buddy Rich. Oh, yeah. You remember Buddy Rich? I mean, I don't remember him, but I know who Buddy Rich is, yeah. Yeah. You have a favorite drummer? I'd have to think about that. Who's the guy with the one arm? Rick Allen. Yeah. He's with Def Leopard. How do you not pick him because he's drumming with one arm? I know. It's pretty good. You're right. It's impressive. A lot of people like Mighty Max Weinberg with the East Street man. Yeah, but he's got two arms. It's unfair. Oh, okay. So we automatically wins Rick Allen because he's one-armed? Yeah. All right. Fine. He's a greatest drummer ever. And he paints. He's a pretty good artist, too. He sucks. Painting with one-arms easy. All right. I used to think he was a great painter until he didn't get me tickets for him and journey, so now I don't talk to him anymore. I'm mad at him. I still played that flipper all the time. He played photograph today. But I was so angry with that guy. I would bring him in, me and Bernard. He did about three interviews with us, you know. I remember that. Yeah. You know, these art shows. One of the hotels in, oh, the Hard Rock. Right. My guy, Jimmy Island's place at the Hard Rock. Come on it, Greg Kelly. They would do these, they had this, they have a, it's still there in the lobby. It's like a, it's an art store. Like, it's seen a Soho gallery. And Rick Allen, the drummer for Depp Leppard, the one-armed drummer, had his art there. And when he would do it, he would come into the studio with me and he had art to promote it. And we're like, yeah. And he loved it. He loved the appearances. So then once, once, after three or four appearances on my radio show, it was a concert at the garden. This is going back probably seven, eight years ago, maybe more. Depp Leopard and Journey. And I reached out to Rick. I said, hey, Rick, it's your buddy Sid. Is he only one I can get two to four tickets? I think I even said I'd pay, which of course I'd never do. Right. I would say that too. Right. He never even got back to me that moment. Wow. Yeah. I didn't know that. Yeah, so. Screw him and his one on. He's out. What about Neil Pert? The great Neil Pert. Yeah, well. What about? Yeah, well.

2:35:05

You could throw him in there, Neil Perth. Sure, why not? Neil Perth is a much better drummer than Rick Allen, you doofus. Again, I'll point out. I know, he's got one on. Two on him. Yeah. Okay. But Neil Perth's Canadian. No, we don't like the Canadian. It's a very good point. Oh, best American drummers, that's what we're doing? Well, what's his name, Charlie Watts with the Stones? No, he's English, of course. He's not American, but I don't know. Stop asking me. I'm missing somebody big that I'm not thinking. Leave on helm. Is American... Yeah, but he wasn't... Was he the drummer for the band? Yeah, he's a drummer and the lead singer. Oh, okay, then that's a big one right there. Lewis used to smoke weed with Levon home. Don Henley? Don Henley? He's the drummer for the Eagles? Yeah. You know a lot about music, Kevin? I think I just know a lot about drummers. Why? Are you a drummer? No. Oh. Just find it fascinating. Mm-hmm. You know, I think you're a little retarded. I got to be honest, bro. Don't take this the wrong way. I just, because I like you. You do a great job when he's our program director, by the way. You do a great job when Lou's not here, I mean, which is not easy to do because Lou is a major part of this show, but you're good. You're great, actually. Play the music. You're funny. And you know a lot about drummers. Well, he does run the place, so he would imagine that. Who runs the place? He wouldn't need much. Kevin does. Yeah, okay. What place is that exactly? I'm just saying in terms of understanding how to run a sound board. Listen, he's got a very impressive title. He runs nothing. I mean, John runs the place, then Chad, then me. You know what I meant. You know what I meant. The hierarchy of, actually, Margoe runs the place. Let's have an honest conversation. Margo runs it, then John, then Chad, then me. Actually, ahead of me is probably Emily Pankow, but by the time you get to Kevin, I mean, you got about 30 people. He's number 25 on Amy Coney Barrett Media's top programs. Yeah, if you scroll all the way to the bottom of that list, I'm in italics. Do you know how long of a job I had to give? Jason Amy Coney Barrett, to get him on that list? You don't much poll, I guess, because there's no picture. I just got an honorable mention at the bottom. No, no, people know who you are. You do a great job. You do a great job. You do a great job. You do a great job. Well, I'm the best. Thank you for that, Kevin. You're welcome. Any other drummers? I've got to go. John Bolton. Oh, that's a good one. Who said that? Me. You are the drummer. Alex, drummers for 100, please. Keith Moon. Keith Moon, great drummer. Very good drama. Excellent. Two arms. Who's the drummer for Van Halen? I forgot. Doug's going to come run down the hall. Yeah. Who is? Oh, Doug. Yeah, Doug. Oh, he knows about music, too. Yeah. He should be in prison. Do you think? He kind of does look like so they should be in prison. He definitely looks like somebody who, if you think back about 20 years, and I love the guys, and he's great of what he does to him in Libertini. Yeah, background check. There's something off there. Clean. Yeah, there's something off. And it will take a break when we get back. Tomorrow is the 152nd running of the Kentucky Derby. All my friends are checking in. They're all saying Neil Pert, almost all of them. Anthony from the garage.

2:38:16

You got Matt Goldstein, hands down. You got Bobby Hartman. He said, I saw Buddy Rich. Jamie Serna, Stuart Copeland from the police. That's a good one. Jaime, I should say. That's a good one. Tyler Reddick here from 2311 racing. The rush of racing, nothing beats it. But Chumba Casino comes close. Chumba's got fast spins, fun games, daily bonuses, and all the action you can handle. Now that's a run. Ready to hit the throttle? Get in the driver's seat and head to chumbacasino.com. Let's Chumba. Sponsored by Chumba Casino. No purchase necessary. VGW Group, voidware prohibited by law. 21 plus. Terms and conditions apply. Colleen Smith, it's a John Bolton. and all of that. All right, we'll take a break. We'll talk Kentucky Derby. You ought to make some money tomorrow. We got your winners. Dick Girardi's been doing this for like 45 years. There's nobody better. The 152nd running. The run for the roses. The most exciting two minutes in sports used to be mean. Now it's the Derby. We'll come back with Dick Girardi right after this. Sid and Friends in the morning on the Red Apple Podcast Network. The Kentucky Derby were talking horses. You know, Joanna, we love Joanna. She's so cute. Works for Trump. Her father, who's a great music guy, Robert checks in. He says, session drummer Steve Gad. He said, Buddy Rich, league of his own, Ian Pace, he mentioned, from Deep Purple. We've already got Keith Moon in there. Heshi Ogenbaum, Dave Clark. Somebody mentioned Sheila E and somebody mentioned Ringo Starr on the Beatles. Anyway, tomorrow is the 152nd running of the Kentucky Derby a race we cover every year. And I don't know how long Dick Chowardy has been doing this. He's been out with me forever. I don't hear from Jimmy a lot, you know, Josh Shapiro. But he calls me when it comes time for the big races, and it's always Dick Chawardi. Hey, Dick, how many years have you been doing the commentating, the analysis for the Triple Crown races? About four decades, Sid. I was starting in my hometown of Baltimore, and then I've been in Philly for 40 years. So, yes, four decades worth of common teeth. Now, Baltimore, of course, you've got Pimlico, where the second race of this thing is, right or I don't know. Am I wrong? I don't know. It is. It's not this year that they're rebuilding it like they're rebuilding Belmont Parks that are moving the race to Laurel, which is about 30 minutes away. Oh, I know. Sure. The previous is at Pemlico normally. Normally, right. So I got a buddy named Keith Cantowitz, and he's actually taking me to the Yankee game Monday night for my birthday, which was April the 19th. But he has a place up in Saratoga.

2:41:02

And he's asked me three times already this week to go, you mentioned the Belmont. To go to the Belmont in Saratoga, you mentioned the fact that they're working on the Belmont. That track will be done next year. So what an unbelievable opportunity horse racing has this year running the Belmont, maybe a triple crown possibility at beautiful Saratoga. Yeah, it's a third year in a row. They've been up there. As soon, as you know, they're rebuilding Belmont Park. And Belmont Park, the new one, is actually going to open September the 18th. And then they'll run the Belmont Stakes at the new Melbourne Park in 2020. Awesome. Well, let's get to the Kentucky Derby. This is the big one. I've got to tell you one memory I've got. This is years ago. I haven't been doing this for four decades. But I went to Vegas years ago. For the big fight, it was Delaware Mayweather, I think, okay? And everybody came to this. I think that was the one, Delaware Mayweather. But everybody came. And I remember there was a picture Saturday morning or maybe Sunday morning. of all the planes, all these private planes at the local airport in Vegas that were literally Dick Gewardi parked so close to each other that the wings were almost touching. And what happened was that afternoon before the big fight in Vegas that night was the Kentucky Derby. So Tom Brady, Clint Eastwood, hundreds. I'm not lying here. Hundreds of big-time celebrities made their way from Kentucky to Vegas. What a day that must have been for those guys. You get a Kentucky Derby and a prize fight in Vegas the same day. But with some reason, that one sticks with me. I remember the day well, and I specifically remember Tom Brady. And what's interesting, Sid, is that the airport at Louisville is literally five minutes from Churchill Downs. It's right across the highway. So it's not hard. And the same scene there with all those jets lined up next to each other with the wings almost touching. That's awesome. That is awesome. Where are we with, you remember a couple of years ago, Dick? And I had bringing up something negative because I love tomorrow. I really do. I love the pomp. I love the circumstance. I get into it big time. But a couple of years ago, remember when like seven horses died? at the Kentucky Derby and through all these crazy conspiracy theories. And nothing really came of that after that. Did we ever find out what that was all about? It was one of those bizarre happenstances. The good news it hasn't repeated itself. And sit over the last, I'd say, 15 years, they've done a great job. The number of horse casualties has come down dramatically just because of different protocols at different racetracks. But yeah. That was definitely an anomaly, and it was a scary thing. It might have happened for sure. See, doing sports down in South Florida for as long as I did. That's when I first got to know you, Dick, and Jimmy probably too. And I'd be at Gulfstream all the time, big races, you know, a lot of the big races they actually held at Goldstream then. And I know Santa Anita, for example, has some big races too, obviously some of these horses running in the derby ran at Santa Anita. So I'm aware of some of the big races throughout the year.

2:44:06

around the country. That, of course, still not as big as the big three. But in terms of health, health for the actual horse racing sport, where are we? The Kentucky Derby itself has never been healthier. They can't build enough seats at Churchill Downs, and the ratings will be great on NBC. How many seats are there? I'm just curious. Well, there'll be more than 150,000 people there. Wow. Now, many of them will be in the infield with no seats, but most of them will be either seated or in an area where you can hang out at a bar at a restaurant or whatever. So, yeah, and they keep building on, and people keep buying the tickets, and they're not inexpensive. So the Derby itself, the Triple Crown is fine. The Breeders Cup is fine. The problem said is it's an event-driven sport without enough big events on a regular basis. It's not like, say, the PGA tour, you know what's going to happen every week. NASCAR, you know what's going to happen. Obviously, the NFL, NHL, NBA, MLB, we all know what's going to happen. That's the issue for horse race. It just doesn't have enough of the big events. Surprise, because there are tracks everywhere. And now, you know, when I was a kid, for example, Dick, and don't get offended or upset. But I used to live very close to an OTB. And my dad would never bet on anything. He had no addiction issues, which he's the complete opposite of me. Thank God. But he would bet the big races. So he would grab me and say, come out, some are going to OTB on Kings Highway. He bet $2. You know, $2 to win. Maybe he'd spurge and go $5 for a win place and show where it was. But I remember walking in, and I was like, oh, my God, it was like the waiting room in Beetlejuice. They were like half dead. The cigarettes were smoked down to the filter, old flannel shirts, a guide that looked like they spilled coffee or scotch all over it. It was the worst-looking clientele I'd ever seen. And I was like, are these the people that enjoy horse racing? You don't got to do that anymore. Now you can just sit on your phone and basically bet at any track in the country. Why would it be more popular? Correct. So 95% of the money now is bet away from the racetrack. Right. There aren't brick and mortar. It's just not that many exist anymore. Yeah, you can bet on your phone. You can bet on your laptop. You can bet anywhere. But again, the big events like the Derby, people want to be there, A, to be seen, to see other people. So it is an absolute scene. And what's cool about tomorrow, said you've got 20 horses running. It's the only race we have in a country with more than 14. So the betting opportunities at betonline.ag are just... outrageous. You can get five to one on the favorite at the moment. Renegate, that doesn't happen in any other horse race all year. No, it really doesn't. And like Dick just said, betonline.ag. That's I recommend you place your wager tomorrow. Betonline. AG. Yeah, I'm looking for like a five to two horse here somewhere. And like you said, five to one on the favorite, which is Renegade. And further ado, not far behind at 11 to 2. Now, I'm not sure if that'll be the same tomorrow. You mentioned 20 horses. Usually there's a couple of scratches, right? So it'll be down to maybe 18 or something. thing, although maybe not every single year. So why do you think that's the case that you got such a good buy-you at 5-1? Yeah, I think because there's so many horses and there's no obvious winner, I mean, like Renegade, further ado, Commandment, Chief Wallaby, the Puma, they all kind of look the same, Sid. So that's why it's hard for the betting public to separate, like which one should be the favorite. There's no American Pharaoh won the Triple Crown in 2015. There's no...

2:47:36

like a Triple Crown winner that we had in 2018. And justify those horses just aren't in this race. And we actually have had three scratches, but there were four on the also eligible list. So they've all moved in at the starting gate. So at the moment, we still have 20. But three of the original horses are out and three others moved in. No, it's funny. I got at the horse racing big time years and years ago. And I don't know much about the sport. I didn't go watch these guys, the horses race every year of the guys. But I started betting based on the jockey. So when I first started getting... into this sport, just so you know, Dick Girardi, Gary Stevens was on fire every time this guy. You know, and it was an era where a lot of horses, a lot, almost every year, they'd win the first two legs, they'd get you all excited, and then havoc, like charismatic, havoc would happen at Belmont in that third leg. You know, Silver Tram, I think, also came up short of Gary Stevens' horse. We had a stretch there many, many years. A lot of these horses won the first two legs and couldn't find a way to win that third one, but at least It kept up the interest because the last thing you want is the Beaumont to go off without a possibility of a triple crown. Exactly. Yeah, I mean, I went there nine times to cover it, and I was O for nine, and I'm thinking this is never going to happen. And finally, then we had American Pharaoh finally break through after 37 years affirmed in 78th and American Pharaoh in 2013. Wow. It was that long. Yeah, it was 37 years. It's the longest ever. It was 25 years between citation and secretary of the 73. And then we had three and five years. Right. Right. And secretary at Seattle Saloon affirmed. Right. Oh, amazing horses and affirmed. That's the first sports illustrator they ever got was Stevie Cawthon, 16 years old on the cover. And he had all those epic races against Alidar, I think. Isn't that right? Correct, 100%. Allie Dar was second in all three triple grand race. Well, I'll tell you what, I could actually work for you one of these days, Dick. Yes, you could. I know more than I thought I know. Let's get to this race. Oh, I do want to ask about the owners, though, because, you know, I also lost some interest in the sport. I'll be honest. I lost interest in the sport when they suspended Bob Bafford. He's back, but I think he's only got one horse in this race tomorrow, right? He's got two now. Litmus test was kind of a late entry. He's got Potente and Litmus test. They're both about 20 to 1 at bed online.ag at the moment. They're both at 20 to 1. So there's never a big horse in this race. So who owns Renegade? Mike Rapoli is vitamin water. St. John's helps Rick Petino put a St. John's thing together, a guy from Queens who grew up going to Aqueduct. Wow. So Rick Petino was part of. Because I know Rick is a big deal at Saratoga. He had Rick. For years, you had Bill Parcells, Mike Franceso, those guys with the horses up in Saratoga. Okay, I got a buddy of mine, and he told me, my buddy John, he said, Sid. The two horses, put them any way you want it. It's going to be a nine. Who else did he like? And the, oh, he liked Wonder Dean also. He liked Wonder Dean right now going up at 33 to 1 and the Puma going off at 9 to 1. But he doesn't know. You're the star, Dick Chowardy. Give me the three horses that people can box tomorrow and win some money.

2:50:44

So I like the seven, the non-Burban, the Japanese horse. He was actually bred in Kentucky, but he's raced in Japan. I like the Sixth Commandment and the 18 further ado. And the order for me would be 7-18-6 in that order. But yeah, if you want to box them up, that's fine, too. Okay, so say it again now, quickly. Yep, seven to non-Burban. 18 further ado and 6 commandment. 718 and 6. You know, the Super Bowl, for example, you get to bet like 9,000 other bets outside the line and the total and all that stuff. Right. Is there a lot of that with the Kentucky Derby or no, right? Yeah, at Bet Online, there's probably 50 prop bets. Really? How about this one said winning distance over under a length and a half? I'm recommending betty over on that one. Here's one. Will Secretary's record, which has stood since 1973, be tied or broken? Yes, is 15 to 1. I would recommend a no bet. Nobody can break this record. It might stand forever. And here's a cool one. Baffert, you mentioned him. Will a Baffert horse win the Oaks and then the Derby? He's got a nice horse name, Explorer, and the Oaks tonight. You get 66 to 1 if Bafford can win the Oaks and the Derby at Betoam. Oh, I like that one. I like that one a lot. I thought you would. All right, Dick. All right, betonline.ag. And you and I will do this again in a couple of weeks as we get set for the preakness. You're the best in the business, Dick, by like miles. It's not even close. Sid and Friends in the morning on the Red Apple Podcast Network. I used to hate this closing time. Oh, please. Just one more shot. Please. If there's Yeager Meister in that bottle, I'm not leaving. I used to mix Yeager Meister and Goldslug. It's a maniac. It is closing time, folks.
