Nice to have you with us on this Tuesday. A lot of key stories we're watching for you on 1010 Wins. First, they're releasing body cam footage of that police involved shooting from a week ago, which left one man on a ventilator still fighting for his life after being shot four times. His family had called 911 asking for an ambulance saying he was in emotional distress, but police say they found a guy with a knife threatening them, so they fired. Zohran Mamdani said he would get to the bottom of it and release body cam footage of what actually went down. And today, the video is coming out. Tintin Wins reporter Mary Lynn Buckley at the top of the broadcast on this Tuesday. Mayor Zohran Mamdani says his administration will be releasing police body camp footage showing the police involved shooting involving 22-year-old Jabez Chakraborty. Jabez has lived with schizophrenia and this situation underscores just how urgently. We need a different and more effective mental health response. NYPD officers say when they responded to the 911 call, Jabez was armed with a kitchen knife and refused to drop it, leading to shots being fired. But Mayor Zohran Mamdani says this is exactly why he plans to get mental health professionals involved in these sorts of responses. Involving teams of behavioral health specialists, peer experts, police so that they can intervene when the need arises. Mayor Evelyn Buckley, Tentem wins on 92, 3 FM on the Lower East Side. And so again, we are still waiting. on the outcome of that video release. It will be interesting to see if this incident becomes a catalyst for getting that agency, he mentioned, off the ground. Also on this Tuesday from Borum Hill, Con Ed said, what? They're not going to reimburse us for our losses? There's still about 450 people without power today in Borum Hill and some neighboring communities after the light started flickering off and on as of Friday. Con Ed said it's been working on the problem night and day, and now they're saying it'll be at least 11 o'clock tonight before things are fully restored. At one point, some 2,000 people got nothing when they flipped a light switch in their house. The power company says, road salt and melting snow have been seeping into the underground, and that caused a lot of wiring to corrobor, but now this. Being without power meant no electricity to keep the fridge on. Translation, food, and medicine went bad. City Council member Shahana Hanif says Khan Ed has refused to reimburse people for their losses, including travel and temporary accommodations. Apparently, she had a conversation with somebody earlier. Well, getting no help, Hanif says we will continue to escalate. What that meant, we're not sure, but meantime, Khan Ed has put out a statement saying customers can visit kaned.com to access claim forms and review the process, saying you have at least 30 days of the storm to fill it out. All claims will be reviewed and evaluated, blah, blah, blah. So we'll see what happens with that, folks. We're watching it. Closing arguments today in the case of an NYPD officer charged with killing a Bronx man while on duty during a drug operation three years ago.
This is that case where the officer allegedly threw a cooler at the guy riding off on a scooter and he died from his injuries. Sergeant Eric Duran testified he was trying to protect fellow officers when he threw a loaded cooler at Eric Dupree knocking him off his scooter. Hawk Gavin Newsom with Black Lives Matter says this was a botched operation. Just watch the tape. The prosecution could have literally went into this courtroom and played the tape. And anybody. with warm blood in their body and a heart would know that this officer is guilty. Dupree had sold drugs to an undercover officer, but they were arresting the wrong guy, Reverend Kevin McCall. What he did was simply thuggery. He didn't act as a police officer. He didn't show no currency. Mack Rosenberg 10-10 wins on 92-3 FM. Black Lives Matter held a process outside the courthouse. We'll keep our eyes on that as well and let you know the outcome. Attorney General Letitia James to ICE agents, we're watching you, watching us. She's launched a new initiative called the Legal Observation Project Lop. That's to monitor federal immigration enforcement activity in our state on the lookout for legal violations, illegal violations, I should say. They'll collect reports of significant ICE actions and will send trained legal observers in purple vests to document what's happening on the ground. That includes ICE activities that protests. Information collected might be used in future legal action, she says. Governor Hokel says, good. The White House approach to border patrol and immigration is wrong, and we've had just about enough. They need to know that... This has been an epic overreach in the way they've conducted themselves. The initiative comes as ICE attracts scrutiny all across the nation following a pair of fatal shootings of U.S. citizens in Minnesota and clashes between federal officers and protesters. Speaking of Governor Hocco, the latest polls show she's living her best life in office. The latest Sienna polls have her enjoying her best favorability ratings ever with big leads over her opponents and high mark for her policy agenda. Stephen Greenberg says she's now topping 49%. Her job approval is well above water. 54% of New Yorkers approve of the job. Kathy Hochul is doing his governor compared to 41% who disapprove of the job she's doing, basically the same as it was in December. Both Lieutenant Governor Antonio Delgado, her primary opponent, and Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman, the likely GOP nominee for governor, remained largely unknown among New Yorkers. In fact, a total of 62 percent of respondents, including 53 percent of Republicans surveyed. Say they had no clue who Bruce Blakeman was. Delgado filed himself in a similar vote. The Gateway Project suing President Trump now and the Fed to restore funding to the tunnel project. The tunnel designed to link New York and New Jersey. Well, you know. But the Trump administration allegedly put a hold on the federal government's money saying it needed a review.
And now the critical infrastructure upgrade is in jeopardy. The lawsuit by the Gateway Development Commission claiming breach of contract was filed in the U.S. Court of Federal Claims just days before working this massive project would come to a halt because there's no more money. Governor Mikie Sherrill says though it goes far beyond that. You know, quality of life issue, it is an economic issue, it's jobs, for some reason to see. The president of the United States attack this is just unbelievable. But as we see, time and time again, when Trump gets involved, costs go up and ordinary people suffer. Cheryl, telling Tentan wins the actions of the president and his administration when it comes to the Gateway Project have been plainly unlawful. Glenn Shuck, 10-10 wins, 92-3 FM. The Gateway Commission is looking for a judgment to release the $205 million that says it's immediately owed, plus additional damages if construction is halted or contracts are canceled. President Trump issued a statement blaming Democrats, saying it's Chuck Schumer and the Democrats who are standing in the way of a deal for the Gateway Tunnel by refusing to negotiate with the Trump administration. The lawsuit suggests there's nothing to discuss and no deal to be made. saying the administration is contractually obligated to pay for the project because of a binding agreement signed two summers ago.
