I don't know where you are, folks, but here in Music Row at the studios of WTN, I don't know if you've seen this, Jay. It is pouring outside. Yes, it is. And that line of storms, as I mentioned, really up through Gallatin and that area. So, yeah, it's, and looking at this line of storms, it goes all the way back to Memphis. So it's going to be kind of happening. Is it basically going to be raining like this all day? I don't think so. It is expected. This moisture expected to get out of here sometime this morning. But pretty severe. Severe. you know, ponding. Yeah, yeah. All that stuff. Were you going to flood watch, all that kind of stuff? Yeah. In some areas. In some areas, yeah. You know, you may seem the stuff, Brentwood. There were some parking lots there. Oh, yeah, at the YMCA. Yeah. It was bad. People were kayaking. Yeah. It was like wasted. Was it yesterday? Yeah. Okay. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I, my, I don't know what happened, my front, my front yard. I don't know what's happening to my front yard, but I've got like a river that is flowing from my yard out to the street. So I don't know if that means that I've got, is that like a grading problem? I don't know. Anyway. Sounds like it. Yeah, I have that in my backyard. It literally, there is a little trench back there that's supposed to go to, you know, to the sewer system and stuff. But it doesn't. It just ponds. I blame the molds that I cannot seem to kill. Anyway, moving that too. Moving, yeah, moving right along. Six away. A stunning article in the Daily Mail regarding JD Vance and his run for the presidency. There's a couple of interesting things about this article. You folks know that I'm a JD Vance fan. Also, I'm a big time Marco Rubio fan. So this is the headline. Trump wants an apprentice oval office type battle between JD Vance and Marco Rubio. Insiders, though, say that JD's top secret 2028 master plan is already underway. It says that JD is probably going to announce his intentions to run right after the midterm elections in November. Now, I think that we can all agree. You know what? Hey, let's do a Daily Dan poll if we could, Sam. Oh. Can we all agree? You know what we were going to do? We were going to do a Daily Dan poll on French fries. Who's got the best French fries? I already put it up. Which, well, frankly, probably people would be more interested in, you know, like who's got the best fries. But let's do JD Vance instead. Maybe we'll do the best fries again later. Okay. Just to give you some like precursor information, McDonald's is leading so far. Okay. Well, all those people have not had in and out. Anyway, so let's do grade JD Vance. Remember the other day we did grade Donald Trump? Grade JD Vance, A, B, C, F. So I believe that JD Vance has done some amazing work. J.D., you all know, I mean, I play his audio, his video all the time. He is an effective communicator. He's done his best with his impossible situation in Iran. He is genuinely...

3:06

Not only a likable guy, but he's great politically. He's accomplished a lot. And by and large, people in Republican circles really like him. And so the Daily Mail has a poll as they're talking about when JD Vance or if, JD Vance is going to run for president and when he's going to announce it. But you know what it shows? JD Vance versus Marco Rubio? Because, you know, that's what Republicans all talk about. When we're out of like filler conversation, we start going down the road of, well, who do you like better? JD Vance or Marco Rubio, right? JD Vance is now at 51% that is up 4% from last month. Marco Rubio has been slumping in second place at 15%. That is down 3%. So why isn't, by the way, just to round it out? Ron DeSantis is at 9% Ted Cruz is at about 6%. So why is JD Vance, I mean, clearly the front runner. And I don't think that's going to change. Well, one of the things is he's been out. He's been promoting this book. He's been talking about the war in Iran as well. So there's a lot of, he's had a lot of face time with the American people. And here's the thing is that he's looked really good in really bad situations. I'm going to give you an example. So he was on the view and Whoopi Goldberg accused the administration of being hostile towards minorities. I played this at the time. I'm going to. Mike Drop, hosted by former Navy CEO, Mike Ridland. How would you characterize your prowess? I'd say my style is that I just kind of outwork everybody until I get there because I'm not a quitter. It's just you. It's yourself. Everything else is team-oriented. The motivation, it was a sort of anger at myself for being weak. That ends up being the driving factor. That anger, that pride, that ego, I think it's a muscle. It gets stronger. When you take that voice seriously, you start to change your life. Mike Drop, follow and listen on your favorite platform. Remind you how much of a class act JD Vance is. Do you say that we're anti-minority or anti-black? No, I didn't say that I asked. See? Okay, okay, fine. Be fair, fair. Don't start any stuff with me, man. Don't get me in charge. But. I misinterpreted your question, but let me answer your actual question there. What I'm saying, I think, okay, look at Washington, D.C. One of the most democratic and one of the blackest, by a share of population, blackest cities in the United States of America, has seen a radical decrease in violent crimes and sexual assaults and in murders. We have tried to take the crime issue seriously, in part because we believe everybody, whether you're black or white or rich or poor, deserves to live in a safe neighborhood. Exactly.

5:56

That's what I mean. He is a great messenger for what the president is doing. And I think that a lot of these media hits where he put himself like the view, he put himself in the middle of all of those women. And I thought that he defended himself really, really well. In a head-to-head matchup, JD Vance would win against Marco Rubio. 65 to 26%. I mean, that is, I was even surprised at that number. Now, more numbers, navigator research, a Democrat-aligned firm, shows JD Vance also ahead of Marco Rubio in net favorability, 62 to 51% over Marco Rubio. Remember that one of the things that Donald Trump has been saying is that he really likes JD Vance, but he also really likes Marco Rubio. It was interesting because the article pointed out that... President Trump gets along far better with Marco Rubio. And he's got a good relationship with JD Vance, but President Trump, he just gets along better with Marco Rubio. They can talk about sports and, you know, they are, I believe, more aligned politically. But Donald Trump believes that JD Vance is the guy for the job. But the thing that he wants, though, because, you know, we all remember the apprentice. So basically Trump wants sort of like an apprentice kind of situation going on in the White House as Marco Rubio and JD Vance both vie for the presidency. But here's the thing. JD Vance has already got all of that infrastructure, right? It's clear that he's going to run for the presidency. It is clear he's going to run for the presidency. Do you know what Marco Rubio has done, though? Do you know what Marco Rubio has done as he decides whether or not he's going to run for the presidency? I'll tell you coming up. Marco Rubio has done nothing. in preparation of running for the presidency. Because, you know, when you run, you need to do whatever, all kinds of stuff. You need to get the donors, you know, to donate money. You need the accounts. You need just the infrastructure. That's what you need. Marco Rubio hasn't done any of the infrastructure to run for the presidency. So. Well, there's a lot of people, including apparently Donald Trump, who want to see some drama between Marco Rubio and JD Vance. Marco Rubio himself. He's come out and he said, I'm not running against my best friend in the administration, JD Vance. I'm just not. I think part of that knows, part of that is that Marco Rubio, perhaps, knows that he cannot win. That might be part of it.

8:55

But, you know, for JD Vance, I don't know if there's any negative to JD Vance. You know, one of the things, there's a lot of people that'll say, well, JD Vance, you know, he was out there promoting the war, right? That's what they're going to say. I'm looking at at. things that the left could say attack points against JD Vance. They'll say that he's always been out there defending the war. JD Vance was and is an Iranian war skeptic. He wasn't a fan of what Donald Trump is doing. So if the left tries that, all he's got to do is say, yeah, you know what? I was out there trying to negotiate with the Iranians. To put a stop to the war. That's all he has to do. I was trying to put a stop to the war. I was trying to de-escalate the situation. I mean, it literally is the perfect way out. Marco Rubio. has actually been more all in on the war in Iran. That could be, especially amongst a lot of conservatives and Republicans, that could very well cost him some support. So one of the things that they're talking about with JD Vance is the fact that he is a family man. Everybody knows his story. The incredible story of JD Vance, Hillbilly Alligy was the name of his book. They made it into a movie. Everybody knows about that. It's just kind of hard to find something negative about JD Vance. As a matter of fact, if there's something you don't like about JD Vance because I'm having a hard time, hit me up on the supertext line. 615737-99-86, 615737 W.WTN. One of the other things that President Trump has done is he has put J.D. in there as the fraud czar. And he's been in the spotlight this week because he is out there. highlighting the fraud that's going on in Democrat-run states like... the state of Wisconsin. So what we've asked the governor to do is just give us the data so that we can check whether you've got illegal aliens on your food stamp rolls. And he's saying absolutely not. And I think the only plausible explanation for that is that he cares more about protecting illegal aliens than he does the good citizens of Wisconsin. It's a scam and it has to stop. He is uncovering all. And then there's obviously other people as well. But Marco Rubio, he is uncovering the scams. He's the fraud czar. And for the Democrats, you know, people like Tim Walz and Gavin Newsom and some of these other folks, whether we're talking about JD Vance, whether we're talking about all the other people, Nick Shirley as well, also somebody who has helped to shine a light on all of that fraud. I think this is really bringing home the competency of a JD Vance. I think he's got like $70 million.

11:50

at his disposal already. By the way, Ted Cruz is also, they say, going to run. That is a, that is just, nobody is debating that Ted Cruz is going to run, which I wonder if that's why President Trump is kind of floating this idea that Cruz should be on the Supreme Court, don't know, whatever. Iran Paul, they say, is also going to run. Many say that Ted Cruz and Rand Paul. have no chance. Now, here's the last thing on this. The political folks say the JD story is incredible. I was talking about Hillbilly elegy earlier. I saw the movie. If you haven't seen it, it is amazing, incredibly compelling story. And it's stories like he just told Mike Rowe on their podcast about what he has overcome after he had to move in with his grandmother. And I love how he talks about his grandma. Man, she was just, she was so non-conventional. Right. She was not like a sit at home and knit you a sweater kind of grandmother. She was a woman of very devout Christian faith. She loved the F bomb. And I, you know, when she died, we discovered. 19 loaded handguns in her house. Wow. I know you're a second amendment guy. But, but, but 19. But how you take it out? But not just 19, but 19 spread randomly all over our house and we're thinking ourselves, you know, obviously we can't ask her because she had died. What the hell did she need with a loaded handgun in the silverware drawer? She's just, and we realized, why take chances? It's because she couldn't get around that well towards the end of her life. It had sort of hit us. And she wanted to make sure that no matter where she was, if somebody walked into her house in Middletown, Ohio, she had a loaded handgun within arms reeds because she couldn't move around that well. Yeah, you know, remember JD Vance, his mom was an addict and I love how he talks about not only how he was brought up because America loves an underdog. And America also loves a comeback story. JD Vance is both. All right, so the Daily Dan poll, we went ahead and posted it. grade JD Vance. And what are people saying there, Sam? 69% give him an A. 31% give him a B. Nothing lower than that. All right. Wow. So A or B for JD Vance? Okay, I think that's great. Happy Friday, everybody. By the way, Joan Jay Jones, she will be back on Tuesday. Jay's with us today, of course, and also on Monday. Jonathan Fahey is joining us right now on the newsmaker hotline. Jonathan, always great to have you on, former acting director of ICE, among many other things in Trump's first administration. Jonathan, I want to play a piece of audio for you. This is Anna Navarro from The View. Listen very close. There's been.

14:37

Now, at least five people killed by ICE in the streets of America. Robin Ray Martinez, they killed a young man. They killed in San Padre Island in Texas. Silverio Villegas Gonzalez. Keith Katie Porter, they killed him in L.A. Rene Good and Alex Petty. They killed them in Minnesota. And now Lorenzo Salgado. at alco there's been over names as well of americans who've been killed by illegal immigrants do you have that list i know some of the i know some of their names i don't have the list but i do know some of the names what are their names what are some of their names I don't know, Jonathan, if you heard that, especially the last part where she is really being pressed on it and all Anna Navarro could come up with is a, that's all she had. Jonathan, good morning, and she couldn't come up with the names of Lake and Riley, Larisha Thompson, Rachel Marin, Jocelyn Nungry or Sheridan Gorman, to name just five of depending on the time period you're talking about, hundreds or thousands of people that have been killed. by illegal aliens. Yeah, exactly. And it's because they don't care. And frankly, they don't even care about, you know, the people they say they care about the claim ICE killed because their goal is just simply massive illegal immigration, massive amnesty. It's so shameful, though, because, you know, the recent shooting, you know, clearly that looked like, you know, at least what I understand about it, clearly a case of self-defense, this idea that ICE agents. are not even allowed to defend themselves when they're enforcing the federal law passed by Congress is insane to me. And people like Anna Navarro encourage people, you know, to fight against ICE and create these problems. But it just shows where they are on those things because, yeah, the list, those are the most sort of prominent names on the list that you gave, but there's so many others. And then you take a sit down for murders and you have rapes and child molestations and other types of things that the Democrats continually, you know, fight having those people deported from the country. It's totally shameful, but, you know, it is the view. And I sometimes think the purpose of the view is just to kind of give fodder for, you know, people to make fun of because it's so outrageous and just, like, just such unserious, unsophisticated people giving opinions. It's, you know, it's kind of pathetic. And it's pathetic that people actually, there are people that take them seriously. Well, and the thing that I would also point out is that, and I did in the 5 o'clock hour, Alex Pretti, Renee Good, Lorenzo, Salgado, Arajo, Rubin, Ray Martinez, and Silvio, Villegas, Gonzalez. I went through and I looked at all of the different scenarios as to why these people died and why they died at the hands of ice. Well, things like dragging officers with the car, using a vehicle as a weapon. We all know what Alex Pready did. We all know what Renee Good did. So they're ultimately what they're trying to do. And this isn't just a view, Jonathan. This is obviously the left.

17:43

where they're making these folks seem like, oh, they were doing absolutely nothing. Mike Drop, hosted by former Navy SEAL, Mike Ridland. What is your take? Was it what you expected? Oh, it was the best thing ever. It was something I always wanted to do. If you show me a clear goal, I'm like, okay, I can do that. Master Chief. He's like, you realize there's about 1% chance that you're making a 3%. That's all I need Master Chief. My platoon went home early, and I just went up to my chief, and I was like, I'm not going home. Turns out I'm staying. That's when we go to war. Yeah, I was like, okay, I could get used to this. Mike Drop, follow and listen on your favorite platform. Nothing wrong and that's clearly not the case. Yeah, exactly. Like they're just going off about their business and ice comes up and kills them. It's totally insane because you're right. Even however you break down any of the scenarios like you say, these people were not bystanders in any respect. So it's so unbelievably insane. But again, you know, the message from the view really should be, well, if you're here illegally, maybe you should go home on your own because it's. You know, you get paid as well. And if these ICE agents are really so scary, why aren't you encouraging the people to leave? You would be actually doing them a favor. But they don't even believe this. It's such nonsense. But the left in the Democratic Party or the whole Democratic Party really is in favor of just, again, mass amnesty. And that is their agenda. And they will stop at nothing to achieve it. And you have people like Zohran Mamdani in... In New York, to give him credit, he at least says it, you know, like, but all the Democrats actually believe it and act upon it. And that's where they are on this issue. And when people vote, they need to realize the other side of the coin is mass amnesty, lower quality of life, higher rent, lower wages, less healthy, less safe. And that's the choice. And that's the choice for Americans. Well, and then the great thing is. And I've said this before, obviously probably with you. But I don't know, Jonathan, if I've ever seen a time where the two political parties are so clearly defined where you've got, you know, at the left, they're socialist, they're communist, that's the direction that they're going. And Republican Party is way on the other side of that. So they're... Trying to figure out the right way to frame this. There's so much space between the two parties that, I mean, the case has never been more clear heading into a midterm election. Jonathan, I'm going to ask you about this headline coming up next. Mexico.

20:24

is going to now request criminal charges over deaths following the fatal shooting of a Houston man by ICE agents. And ultimately, they are going to focus on 17 Mexicans who died in ICE custody or during immigration enforcement operations. by the Trump administration, they're asking that these agents actually be charged. We're going to talk about that next. So, Jonathan, as the guy who used to direct ICE for the Trump administration in the first time around, Mexico requesting criminal charges over these 17 Mexicans who died in ICE custody. Now, this is basically meaningless because in Europe, highfalutin attorney, of course, as well. So what do you think of this? It's utter nonsense, but it also, it's disturbing in the fact that we've had this massive problem with illegal immigration. And Mexico has done nothing to help us, to support us. They've actually contributed to it, facilitated it, and made money off of it. So it's so offensive. But there's no charges against these agents. And if they did some or the people in these facilities that are viable, and if they were, they would have been brought. And it's such. nonsense when they talk about, you know, things like, you know, people dying in custody. Well, you know, the reason the numbers are higher now than under Biden was because they didn't have anyone in custody. They weren't enforcing immigration law. So, of course, the numbers are going to be higher. But it's just so disturbing to see that we're not getting the cooperation out of Mexico that we should be getting. And again, if it's so bad here, why do they keep encouraging people to come here? But just one real quick point on your great point you made with the divide in the country. It's interesting because today's Republican Party is basically exactly where the Democratic Party was 20 to 30 years ago on the immigration issue. So it's the Democratic Party that has shifted, not the Republican Party. And it just shows how insane they are. And also when they always tell us how great illegal immigration is for the country and how we benefit from it, why after so much illegal immigration are the Democrats so unhappy? They're the least happy they've ever been. They hate our country even more than they ever have when you look at polling and objective criteria. So it doesn't even fit their own narrative. If it's such a benefit, they should be. happiest clams right now. This is the highest number of illegal immigrants we've ever had in the country. Well, you're right. And I guess that's going to go back because you also do legal analysis and political analysis for Fox News. You're on Laura Ingram all the time. And so I know you do talk politics as well. So let me ask you, you've got the Democrats clearly being taken over by the socialist and the communists. So do you think that's going to be good for Republicans heading into the midterms? And do you think that the moderate Democrats are going to look at?

23:22

what is going on with their now socialistic or communistic nature and think, I can't do that. I'll vote for the Republicans or will they just stay home? Yeah, I think it will, your first question, I think it's really good for the Republicans. It doesn't mean we'll, you know, necessarily keep the House. But I think it keeps things a lot tighter when you're looking at, what, 16 to 18 competitive races? And you see people like Graham Platner and Zohran Mamdani, I think spill over to other candidates even indirectly. And one thing that is interesting, I think Democrat voters are not as nearly as crazy as the party and the leaders right now. So I do think there's a good chance. the staying home effect or maybe coming over to Republicans, because it's almost a misnomer to talk about moderate Democrats in terms of the leadership because you take out John Fetterman out of the equation in Washington, and you really can't find a moderate Democrat anymore. And it's just that these socialists and communists are so bad. It almost seems these, these like semi-socialists seem moderate comparatively. But I do think it will be a lot closer. And the Democratic Party... has to decide, and they may have already decided, are they going to be the Socialist Communist Party, or are they going to be the old-style Democratic Party that actually looked out for American workers and their well-being? And I think they've essentially chosen socialism, communism, illegal aliens, and abandoning the American workers.
