JD Vance slams Catholic Push Back on Birth-Right Citizenship

A couple people were wondering if we had gotten that guy from earlier in the show that was sending all the nice text messages on the phone. He's still texting. So he has access to his phone. The messages have gotten even darker. A little more unhinged. He said that he said my kids are going to be ashamed when they grow up and realize who I am. And then he threatened to rape me. Just blatantly. So. I've just been responded with Trump gifts. Ready for the cops to get here. I'm waiting. I'm waiting. It's weird. Weird. People are nuts. So there's that. We got JD Vance responding to the birthright citizenship ruling. And J.D., J.D. is actually feeling a lot more optimistic about it than I am. He said that there's actually a silver lining in this. because it was a five to four decision. What I have to do is just continue to enforce the border, Laura. This is a very disappointing ruling from the Supreme Court. Of course, we respect it. But we also think that it was a major, major mistake. As just as Samuel Alito and Thomas pointed out, you know, one of the things that might invite Laura is people to come here quite literally on a vacation, give birth, and then all of a sudden... the child and their family have the full benefits of American citizenship. It's just a preposterous ruling, and the absurdity of that outcome suggests why the Supreme Court should have went the other way. Now, I know a lot of conservatives, Laura, certainly the people that I'm talking to that you're talking to are extremely disappointed in this. I do actually think there's a really big silver lining here. And that's the simple fact that a lot of legal experts expected this case to go the wrong direction by seven to two or even eight to one. The fact that this case was a five to four decision effectively means that the concept of birthright citizenship, which is an absurdity to the 14th Amendment, that concept is hanging by a thread. And so what I take from that is, yes, we've got to fix the immigration system even more. We have to be even more aware of who's coming into our country to make sure that they're not benefiting from this atrocious Supreme Court ruling. But it also means that we have to keep fighting, Laura, because... We actually have an opportunity to reverse this decision just as we've reversed so many bad decisions throughout the generations. He's right. I mean, there's some truth to that. Stay optimistic. Keep pushing the ball down the field. Keep fighting and see what happens next. 615-737-99-86. And these progressive radicalized... liberals camping out in front of Supreme Court justice's homes. John Roberts, that's not a surprise, considering who appointed him, his rulings are exactly what you would expect. He's the furthest thing from conservative, but Amy Coney Barrett, I'm wondering if the idea of violence, especially towards their children, is swaying her decision.

I mean, didn't she rule, she ruled the correct way on the temporary protected status for Haitians, and her kids are Haitian, right? Yeah, it was just a thought. You know, I don't know. It's just trying to make sense of such an absurd ruling. Yeah, I mean, it's hard to make sense of it. I wouldn't, I wouldn't say that she's afraid of violence. But JD's like, no, no, there's, there's some silver linings here. Uh, Stephen Miller, very upset. And, and he's upset for rightful, uh, righteous reasons. Uh, he's talking about how if now, now you have a mother that can come in pregnant. Have a baby, go home, and that baby gets Medicaid and welfare. And he makes some good points. Well, what I'm saying, Jesse, is that you have to now think very carefully about... who you let into your country, even on a temporary basis, because the possibility, as you said, for birth tourism, right? They do that people come here just to have babies on American soil, and that baby gets to be a citizen for life. So you have mothers that come in, fully pregnant, have a baby, go home. And again, that baby gets Medicaid and that baby gets welfare and that baby gets cash assistance and can send, you know, leave the baby with, you know, a cousin, a relative, whatever, and then to send welfare checks back home. You can support a whole family in the third world. So, yes, you can't have the kinds of immigration programs other countries have when you can just have a baby here. And now that child is an American citizen. So there's a lot of things we're going to have to take a hard look at, Jesse. Yeah, I mean, they're going to have to. So, again, Senator Bernie Moreno is filing legislation that was originally pushed by Democrat Senator Harry Reid back in 1993 to block illegal aliens from getting birthright citizenship. We got Andy Ogles filing legislation to ban certain pregnant forms. from entering America after the Supreme Court upheld birthright citizenship. Yet to be seen if any of those things are actually going to gain any steam or go anywhere. But we'll hope and pray that they do. JD Vance says there's a silver lining. Jim Rome takes on sports. that Samuel Alito Samuel Alito would be retiring soon. And the White House said, no, no, that's not the case. And the NPR who had put out the story, they retracted it. And they said, okay, we were wrong and this and that. But I'm hearing from certain sources in and around and near the White House that. That's exactly what's happening behind the scenes. That Samuel Alito is gearing up for a retirement and that they're already floating replacements for Samuel Alito. And I heard this from a source that I happen to trust quite a bit. And I'm hearing the name James C. Ho as the replacement for Samuel Alito. Now, more on him in a second. Here's why it makes sense. If we wait too long, they're going to Merrick Garland, Mitch McConnell, this decision. We all understand Mitch McConnell is a lousy senator. And he was pretty bad as Senate Majority Leader. really got nothing done, but his one big crowning accomplishment was the fact that he kept Merrick Garland off the Supreme Court. And it's just the reality. They said that they were too close to an election. He can't do it now. That's not fair. And they, they, they, they, they, they stalled. And because of that, we didn't get Merrick Garland as a Supreme Court justice. And Donald Trump got to pick the next few Supreme Court justices. So there's precedent there that if we wait too long for Samuel Alito, that we could find ourselves in a situation where the Democrats are able to do the exact same thing. So you can make the argument that we need Samuel Alito to retire. And we need a leader to retire soon because we need to get a conservative justice on the bench, not another diversity hire from the Democrats like Ketanji Brown Jackson. And the name I'm hearing being floated around is James C. Ho. He is a, he is on the Fifth Circuit in Texas. And he seems pretty solid by, by all accounts. There's, there's rumblings that it should have been him and not Amy Coney Barrett. But he voted to uphold Texas law requiring public schools to display a copy of the Ten Commandments. That's pretty based. He. He condemned the inconsistency of exempting protesters from the state's COVID-19 restrictions while continuing to justify restrictions on houses of worship. That's pretty based. He asserted that the Navy SEALs challenged to the COVID-19 vaccine mandate was not a moot point. He agreed that a city's plan to destroy a Native American religious site, substantially burdened the Native Americans' religious exercise. He's had some rulings on the...

First Amendment, he supported students' rights against compelled speech. He asserted that a private citizen had the right to question and criticize public officials and that her arrest violated the Fifth Amendment. He asserted that a city ordinance prohibiting a woman from engaging with people near a public amphitheater banished people of faith and violated the First Amendment. I mean, he seems solid on the right to life. He wrote that the original meaning of the Constitution does not provide a right to an abortion. We need more of that on the Supreme Court. He argued that the FDA violated its own regulations when it initially approved Mithapristone and that its distribution should be prohibited by the Comstock Act. On the Second Amendment, he affirmed that illegal aliens do not have Second Amendment rights. He criticized the treatment of the Second Amendment as a second-class right. and he held that permanent disarmament of a man for failing to pay child support violated the Second Amendment because it lacked a sufficient historical analog. and he's been strong on border security and immigration. I don't know if this is the right guy. I do know that this is the name that's being floated around in D.C. though, as a replacement for Samuel Alito. And if you're doing any research, you should definitely be digging into Judge Jim Ho and making your voice known on him. Because again, I'm hearing that many circles in D.C. in and around the administration. They're pushing for Samuel Alito to retire and that they're pushing for Judge Jim Ho is the guy that's the way to go. That's what they're saying. Jim Ho is the way to go. So do your due diligence on Jim Ho. Know that the Samuel Alito story is not fake news. It's just news that isn't ready to print yet. And it's actually a good thing. I like Samuel Alito. I don't want to necessarily lose Samuel Alito. But, I mean, do we want to find ourselves in a situation where a Democrat president gets a Supreme Court pick? Probably not. So it's probably the right move for Samuel Alito to go retire and be with his family. So that way we can get another conservative justice on the bench. A real conservative, not one that will turn their back on us when it's convenient like Amy Coney Barrett. I got a text here from Grant. He said, Gabe is training? Let's go! Well, I mean, it's every candidate, though, because in this state, the Republican primary is essentially the general election. Yeah, 100%. So he had an hour sit down with Monty. He had an hour sit down with John Rose. He had an hour sit down with Blackburn. Now, Blackburn, the criticisms were there during the Blackburn interview. But I think that the whole point of it is so that way you can listen to each of those interviews and make your own decision on the candidate. I think it would be really funny if he invited all of them on at the same time without telling each other. Wouldn't that be sick? That would be so funny. That's what he should have done. That's what we should have done. Force them to have a debate or, you know, the alternative is you get them on camera, like literally running out of the room from the debate. He said, you know who's listening to your dad. 49ers player NFL players listen to me so that's pretty cool they said that's sick that's lit dad your uh your boys are Pat's fans though right yes they yeah okay yeah yeah we were born into it we do the we do the Boston stuff it's hard it's hard to get away from it no 100% I'm here for it I'm from New Hampshire so it was cool it was cool though I was like man that's crazy but you know also like trying to say anything mean about the NFL Oh, no, the, well, the NFL is great unless it's not, I guess, unless they're promoting all the crazy LGBT whatever, which, you know, this month. This year, I was so surprised how many sports teams didn't cave to the whole, you know, LGBT mafia. It seems like the Rainbow Mafia has less and less power and control this past June than they've had in June's previous. Oh, yeah. I mean, listen, you know, I'm a, I was watching all the NBA playoff stuff, all the NBA finals. None of the teams that, like, at least made it to the conference finals, like posted any stuff about pride. You know, the Spurs didn't, the Knicks didn't. I don't think OKC did. The team that I did see, though, you know, it's so unfortunate. It's the Boston Celtics. I know. And it's like, do a market study because you'll go into the comment section on those posts. Oh, it was.

And people just roast them. I remember the post within like three hours only had I think 4,000 likes, but it had like 10,000 comments. And the comments had more likes than the post. And it's like know your audience. They're there for basketball. Yeah. They're like that's why they showed up. Well, and America like in general is just over with this stuff. Like they don't, you know, want to see it. They don't want to hear it. um which is like great you know the the tide is shifting it's coming back you know people are saying words that i probably can't stay on air again you know which is great you know stuff just in day-to-day life yeah no i'm i'm here for it and i like i like that uh we're winning we're absolutely winning the culture battle i mean the the the fight is still going on and we still have to deal with insanity from the left and one of the things that i saw yesterday was absolutely insane Sheridan Gorman, who is a young woman that was killed by an illegal alien in Chicago, shot in the back by a guy that was just like laying in bushes hiding out. Her mother showed up to a hearing on immigration, and she was met by Democrats saying things like this. Unfortunately, this hearing is, it's the fourth time in this committee that we've had a hearing on sanctuary cities, the fourth time. And there's many other things that we could be doing other than this. Yeah. And you know what? It is unfortunate that we're doing this again. It is true that we could be doing many other things than this. But it's for the exact opposite reasons that the Democrats are claiming. They think this is a waste of time and nonsense. Yet you're still seeing real American family suffering because of the open border policy that we had to endure under Joe Biden. And one of the real world issues is illegal aliens. committing some of the most heinous crimes that we've ever seen. And a poor girl, Sheridan Gorman, shot by an illegal alien in Chicago, never had to happen. It just didn't. And this Democrat politician, Pramila Jayapal, gets up there and says, oh, unfortunately, we have to do this again. And Sheridan's mother is sitting right there. And it's like this poor woman now has to sit through your lecture when she's still grieving the loss of her daughter. And you can hear the pain in Sheridan Gorman's mother's voice. And it cannot be buried beneath the list of unrelated issues that you all paraded before us. Thanks for telling me without telling me that, you know, you're here, but you don't want to be. This is the fourth, this is the fourth time you've had angel families. Thanks for telling me you don't care. Seriously. I mean, you told me everything without saying anything. This cannot be buried under your slogans, your statistics or excuses, and this just can't stand. So today, I bring this back to the buddy bench. I think Congress needs one. I think every governor, every mayor, every sanctuary city official and politician shifting blame and interest, hiding behind their slogans and talking points should have to all sit on one. And I challenge you all to sit down with me. Take my hand.

Look me in the eye and then explain to me because I just don't understand. Explain why people here illegally matter more than your American citizens. Explain why sanctuary policies matter more than my Sheridan's life. I mean, I can do it if you need me to. It's about power. Always has been. It's about getting them counted in the census. It always has been. That equals more representation in the House of Representatives. You get those heads counted. You get more seats. It's about the newcomers voting Democrat. Always has been. I want you to imagine that that little girl on the buddy bench, that innocent college freshman with a heart full of compassion and a head full of dreams that was gunned down by an illegal immigrant, I want you to imagine that was your daughter, not mine. What if she was yours? Would you even hesitate for one second to act or to make changes? My Sheridan spent her whole life choosing others. Today I'm just asking this committee, this committee in our Congress and our country to choose her. She was worth protecting. She was worth saving. And she was worth your brave vote. No, this is the fourth time they've done this, Ms. Gorman. They really don't have an appetite to hear your pain and your tears any longer. Unfortunately, they have to sit through it. But they really don't care. And nothing's going to change. Nothing's going to change in Chicago where Mayor Brandon Johnson, just days after the Venezuelan illegal alien was charged with killing Sheridan Gorman, said, you know what we need to do? We have to end the assault against immigrants. Oh, that's a weird statement. Tell me why you wanted to come out. And what's your message for the community here? Well, it's pretty straightforward. We have to end the assaults against working people. We have to end the assaults against immigrants. I mean, the tone deafness of the statement, not missed on me or you, but the Democrats don't seem to see an issue with it. It's the fourth time they've done this, you guys. I was reading the text messages during the break. We were playing audio from Angel Mom of Sheridan Gorman, who was at an immigration hearing yesterday. And 5025 Texan said, man, that is heartbreaking to listen to. And even worse, most people who really need to hear this to understand what the real tragedy is when it comes to our border. Won't hear it because their side of the information aisle will never play it. You're absolutely right. And, I mean, that was on full display when Pramila Jayapal, a ranking member, she had this to say. Unfortunately, this hearing is, it's the fourth time.

in this committee that we've had a hearing on sanctuary cities, the fourth time. And there's many other things that we could be doing other than this. Yeah, unfortunately, we've got to do it again. Unfortunately, and it's like, yeah, we, you know, conservatives feel the same way. There are many other things that we could be doing other than this. I had one supertaker to say, yeah, you know, there's many other things Sheridan Gorman should be doing, but she's dead because of an illegal alien. Sheridan Gorman's mother said, what if this was your daughter? Because my Sheridan and Grace Gorman should still be alive. And no mother should have to stand where I am standing, begging, begging, elected leaders to value my child's life after it's already too late. I cried when I came into the room. I saw this poster that you made. It says at every stop. The system had a chance to stop him. At every step, it failed. And my daughter paid for those failures, your failures, with her life. No family should ever have to bury a child because public officials fail to put American lives first. I'm just asking you to choose us. We choose you. We choose you. Choose us. Why does my child matter less than an illegal immigrant? Why? Listen, I have a heart. I love immigrants. Two of my best friends in this whole world are immigrants. They came here the right way. I absolutely think they make America beautiful. But my daughter's beautiful too. Yeah. Amen. And it's a sad state of affairs when you even need to put the disclaimer on it. I love immigrants. But that's the state of the country. But you have one more thing to say. She's like, why is it the only one side of the political aisle actually cares about this? I understand that you're here for a reason. I don't understand why it's only the Republican side that cares about our American children. And I know that you're a mother. I know that you're a father. I deeply value that. But basically what you just did, what you said was, I'm so sorry for your loss. I have a daughter too. I have a son. I feel your pain. You don't. You don't feel my pain. Because the next words out of your mouth were, but. There's no but. When your child is in a coffin, there's no but. And I need you to understand that. And if you ever want to talk about it, I'm here. I'm going to buy you a bench. I'm going to put that on the record. I'm going to buy Congress the bench. And they can come and sit and hold my hand and look me in the eye and explain to me why illegal immigrants are more important than my daughter. Just, I mean, honestly, incredible strengths from Sheridan Gorman's mother. Just. It's awful that she has to do this. And we've seen this so many times, right? We've seen this with Rachel Marin's mother, Patty. She's had to do this. We've seen this with Joshlyn Nungary's mom. She's had to do this. And it seems like we keep seeing this. But nothing changes.
