They're reading these election results all wrong. I'm going to explain here in just a moment, but first it is Jason Gotch, in for Dan O'Donnell. News Talk 1130 WISN, also 1310 WIBA in Madison. I am here the next couple of days. Keep the big chair warm here on News Talk 1130 WISN for Dan. Here until 6 o'clock, we will have the Fall Fortune Cash Contest keyword coming up a little bit later on in the hour. You can be like William from Berlin, who won earlier this week, listening here on WISN. You can always find me also. We'll open up the phone lines a little bit later on. But you can also find me throughout the show and off the show on X. I almost called it Twitter. Almost said Twitter. That close. It's X. Let's give Elon Musk credit. Gotcha, gotcha, Berlin, Wisconsin, exactly. So we have to, my inflections aren't always the best, but I'm going to do my best to get everything right inflection-wise over the next couple of days. But if you want to find me on X, it's... At Jason Gotts, G-O-C-H on my last name spelling. No T in there again. At Jason Gotch. One word for Twitter spelling handle purposes. J-S-O-N-G-O-C-H. So if you want to go ahead and follow me on or off the air, that's where you go ahead and do it. Now, let's get to the election results real quick. Because I've been chomping on the bit since Tuesday night. When I knew, you knew what was going to happen in these elections. Look. Let's be honest. I know the Republicans talked about Trump being within five in New Jersey in 2024. It was a perfect storm. Joe Biden was a terrible, awful, ridiculously bad president. The economy in shambles at the time of the 2024 election. So, sure, Donald Trump was going to do a little better in a heavy blue state that prior to 2024, had not been within a couple of decades in a presidential race any better than double digits for the Republicans. They lost every presidential race in New Jersey by at least double digits, most of them by 15 points or more. And Virginia, we think about the Virginia from 1964 to 2008.
That Virginia was solid red, the Old Dominion, the Commonwealth of Virginia. George Bush is losing a Bill Clinton. Bob Dole's getting hammered by Bill Clinton. And what happens? Virginia still turns up to be a red state. Well, that changed a lot of different reasons. Barack Obama flooded the government with... public employees that's a huge issue but there's another issue too even going back further than that george bush after 9-11 they hired a lot of government contractors they settled in virginia you got a government shutdown going on you got the state of virginia which is loaded with government workers it wasn't a purple state in my opinion anyway let alone being a red state or a slight red state, even though Glenn Youngkin was the governor. He won in a perfect storm in 2021. Point being, this election cycle, this is like if the Republicans panic on this one, and there are things they got to work on, don't get me wrong. Their affordability is still an issue. Messaging is an issue. Turning out your voters, that's an issue. All those things I said, big issues. But you have to understand that the celebration you're seeing from the Democrats and the far left and the progressives and the Democratic Socialists, what you're seeing here is a celebration equivalent if the Republicans would have swept elections in Tennessee and Florida. What do you think was going to happen in those elections in Tennessee and Florida if they would have been this year? T. Marr would have won. Conservative ideas would have won. I don't think the Republicans would have even been delusional enough to say, wow, that's a mandate for what we're doing throughout the country. I think you have to look at more states like the state of Wisconsin, we're broadcasting from, the state of Michigan, the state of Pennsylvania. Those will tell you a little bit more about what's going on. But the turnout, the Democrats in these blue states were fired up for this election. Just look at the TV ratings on Tuesday night. Do you realize MSNBC had more viewers than Fox News? That almost never happens. That's because the old boomers who can't stay, anti-Trump boomers, they are on the, they're sitting in front of that TV. Yeah.
Okay, go ahead. Thank you, producer Eric. Got a little issue in the control room right now, but that's perfect heads up. I appreciate that. But what you're seeing is... with those even TV ratings that, yeah, the Democrats in blue states were more motivated to win these elections. There's no doubt about it. So they're more motivated to win these elections. They come out, they win these elections. Now there's a mandate to keep the, Chris Murphy's out there today, Senator from Connecticut saying, keep the government closed. We've got to get Obamacare fixed before we can open the government. There's other Democrats saying there's no hurry to open the government. You know what? The Trump administration at this point is fine with that. I mean, and I do feel some sympathy. Look, the SNAP benefits are out of control as far as who's eligible for those. But for people who truly need help, I understand that's serious concern. But the Trump administration is not going to give in now. These elections are over. There's no doubt. There's no reason for them to give in and say, oh, we're going to fund illegal alien health care. For one point, up to over a billion dollars of illegal alien health care or even 500 million of illegal alien health care, that's not going to happen. So they're not going to give in. The Republican Party, they're not going to give in to the Democratic demand. So this shutdown could go on a lot longer. But don't read too much. Don't get, one thing I even saw, people were freaking out. I can't believe I'm bringing this up. It's Jason Gotts for Dan O'Donnell. But it made me laugh late on Tuesday night when people were saying, because I mentioned New Jersey and I mentioned Virginia. People were saying take a look at Georgia. What's going down in Georgia? Look what happened. Statewide election in Georgia for the Georgia public utility seats, two Democrats actually won and beat Republicans. Do you know what the turnout in that race was? 19% do you think in a normal election cycle in the 2026 midterms that you're going to go ahead and get a 19% turnout statewide in the state of Georgia? That's not going to happen. This was a low turnout election in Georgia. In other places, the Republican turnout was okay. The Democratic turnout was juice. Now, I'm not trying to be someone here to put rose-colored glasses on what happened on Tuesday. Again, there are some issues going on, but it's not doomed in 2026 in Wisconsin. It's not doomed nationally in 2026. It's not doomed in 2028. There are reasons what happened on Tuesday happened, and a few of them that I really narrowed it down to. I touched on it, but let's get right into the nuts and bolts here. We'll get into the Zohran Mamdani stuff because we could do a whole show on Zohran Mamdani, and we wouldn't have enough time to get through all his craziness. But I've got a lot of sound coming up later on in the show that we're going to get to on that. But when you look at what happened on Tuesday night,
You had the government shutdown, which was Virginia, again, a huge government worker state. Northern Virginia is to the left of the Kremlin anyway. And you knew they were going to turn out against Trump, especially with the shutdown going on. The turnout game, yes, the Democrats were more motivated here. As much as we laugh and look, I drove through it. A few weeks ago, the No Kings people, I'm just laughing at these people. The average age at the No Kings rally is like 72. I want to tell these people, hey, you know what? It's Saturday. Go spend time with your grandkids. Go do the Halloween stuff. Don't have the Trump is Hitler signs that make no sense that you're holding on the side of the road. No, you guys are insane. But I just laughed and drove through it. But to be honest, there is something who said those people would crawl all over hot coals to go. to an election site and vote against a guy that, again, they literally think is a clone of Hitler, which couldn't be further from the truth. There's no more popular American president in Israel than Donald Trump. They love him in Benjamin Netanyahu loves him. He's bringing peace to the Middle East. It couldn't be further from the truth, but you repeat a lie long enough. And in some people's mind, that lie actually they believe is the truth. So, yeah, the turnout game was an advantage for the Democrats. And part of it was, look, they're watching MSNBC nonstop. They're being fed lies. Old people vote. We love our season citizens, as Rush Limbaugh used to call them. But they're divided right now. There's a lot of them that are pro-Trump. There's a lot of them that aren't, and the ones that aren't are running the polls to vote anything they think is not in favor of Donald Trump. Also, you had some poor candidates here, too. They're a poor, look, Winnisome Sears. ran from Trump in 2021. She ran from Trump after Ron DeSantis won big in Florida and endorsed Ron DeSantis. She was never a huge trumper to win a Republican as a Republican in a lot of states right now. You have a very diverse coalition. This is not the old days where the college graduates come out and vote for the Republican Party. Not even a little bit. This is a much different electorate. You have a lot of working class people. You have a new coalition of minorities in the country that go ahead and come out and vote for Donald Trump and the Republicans when Trump's on the ballot. You have a lot of different factions in the Republican Party that have to be brought together to vote in an election for a Republican to win. One of the biggest things going on right now for the Republican Party. is this. How do you get those people out to vote when Donald Trump is not on the ballot? We haven't really seen it. In 2016, Trump was on the ballot. Republicans did well. 2018, midterm, bad year for the Republicans, Trump not on the ballot. 2020, Donald Trump kept.
The Republicans within striking distance of the U.S. House, they were only a few seats short of winning it when they were supposed to get blown off the field in 2020, because that election was a lot closer in 2020 than many people thought it was, and Trump brings out Republican voters. 2022, the Republicans won the House, but they did not win the Senate, and when they won the House, they did not win it in as big of a number seats-wise as was expected to be. Trump was not on the ballot. Clean sweep. Republicans hold the House. They take the Senate. Trump wins the presidency here in 2025. It's an off-year election. It's a completely different type of election structure than you're going to see traditionally here in 2026 and 2028. So don't be down about what you saw on Tuesday night. Be informed. Be educated, be hopeful, and get ready to do the work you're going to have to do here in the state of Wisconsin. And a lot of other places, people I know stream us everywhere, news talk 1130 WISN, to get Republican voters out to the polls. Now, we're going to get more into Mam Dony, a lot of the other stuff that went on. We'll get into some of the shutdown stuff. I've got that to do as well. But. Just a little bit more here on election numbers. And when you hear about the Democrats being against the idea of a closed border, I'm talking about the far left, some of the more moderate Democrats are out there saying, okay, we will go ahead and agree the border. You shouldn't have 20 million people run into the country over a four-year span. But we shouldn't have the enforcement that we're seeing with ICE. That's the more moderate Democrats. There's not many of those people left and they're getting run out of the party by the minute. But when you look at what Zohran Mamdani was able to do, so ran Zohran Mamdani in New York. The guy who proudly proclaimed he was a Democratic socialist on election night after he won. How did he win in New York? Less than five years, this is Exit Polls, NBC News. Less than five years living in New York City, 85% of those people voted for Zohran Mamdani. And many of those people were not born in the United States. If you lived in New York City or were born there, that's a better judge here, you went 4938 for Andrew Cuomo. If your income, this was a huge surprise for me, if your income was under $30,000 and you voted in New York on Tuesday, you only voted 43% for Zohran Mamdani. You voted 48% for Andrew Cuomo. So the people you would think would want all this free stuff that you can't pay for, that's nice to promise on election day or before it, you would think that those people would actually come out and vote for Zohran Mamdani and they voted against them. So let's get into this, since we've got some extra time here. Let's get into what the Democratic Socialists of America stand for. Because maybe you didn't stay up like me and watch the Zohran Mamdani speech, which I did so you didn't have to. And we'll have some sound from that later on. Unbelievable stuff this guy said. But the Democratic Socialists of America stand for this.
Again, this is what Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said. This is the future of the Democratic Party. This is what election observers and people on the left are saying, hey, you know what, that old guard, those Chuck Schumer type people, he's a far leftist anyway. But those guys, guess what? They're out the door. This is the new era of the Democratic Party. The new Democratic Party is led by people like Zohran Mamdani. And here is what the Democratic Socialists of America stand for. abolish mandatory minimums and cash bail. So what does that mean? Abolish mandatory minimums and cash bail. That means the idea of you can get the purple-haired left-wing judge. to go ahead and somebody commits a serious crime. Oh, by the way, we're not going to hold you in jail. We can't because we don't have cash bail. And you didn't do anything really bad enough. Oh, you just committed assault, aggravated assault on the subway. Well, that's not bad enough to keep you in jail indefinitely without bail. So we're going to let you go. And when you go get sentenced, if you get convicted of this, maybe we get a slap on the wrist because you were... You know, you just didn't have the privilege of certain people. That's what that means. That's what the Democratic Socialists of America stand for as far as the idea of law and order. Also, establish universal rent control. How many people know what universal rent control is? That is, let's say, you worked your whole life, you bought that rental property, and you decided, I'm going to go ahead and rent that condo out and on top of my social security and my little pension. I'm going to go ahead and try and, you know, when it all said and done, make $6 or $700 extra a month after the property taxes and the expenses. And I've got to hire the guy to paint the thing every couple of years or the plumber's going to come in when the condo leaks. I'm going to rent it out as an apartment. Nope, New York City is going to control that rent. Even though the market price would maybe be $2,000 a month for that unit. Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no. That's capitalism. That's a bad thing. We're going to control the rent so you don't have to pay that much money if you're a renter to the landlord. So the landlords can't set their own price. That is universal rent control. How about this one? Greatly reduced the U.S. military budget. That's always on the Democrats calling card. The military budget being reduced is something they always want to do, but the far left certainly does not like the idea of having military spending. They can always find something at home that they think will improve people's lives, money they can throw away at some technocrat government project. that is one that we know won't work. Because we have a history, really almost of 100 years of those government projects, not delivering what they promised to do and not helping people. I mean, we had the great society in 1964. Lyndon Johnson was going to end poverty. How's poverty doing in 2025? There are still people in poverty. Heck, if you live in California, you've got the greatest percentage of rich and the greatest percentage of poor in the world.
And how about this one? Amnesty for all immigrants. That means anybody in the country, there is no ICE, there is no immigration enforcement, get across the border here, nobody is going to go ahead and throw you out. So you have a complete, we are a country without a border. That is basically what the Democratic Socialists want here in America. And we've got a few more of these to get to. Also, we're going to get to the cash contest, keyword two, here in just a second. Jason Gotts, in for Dan O'Donnell News Talk 1130, WISN. This day in early November, Turkey Day is a few weeks away, but we're digesting what happened on Tuesday night. Looking ahead to the future of New York City and maybe America with the Democratic Socialists of America. Got a lot of other fun stories. They're coming after your pets. I'm serious. The left is coming after your pets, and I'm a pet owner. I have a dog, and I am not happy. We'll talk about that later on. Lots to do here on the Dan O'Donnell Show with Jason Gotts sitting in. But before we do anything, let's get to the Fall Fortune Cash Contest. William won earlier this week, listening to News Talk 1130 WISN. And here's your chance to win. The nationwide keyword this hour in the fall fortune cash contest is check. You have until 55 minutes past the hour or 355 central time to go to newstalk 1130.com or WIBA.com and enter the word check to enter the contest for this hour. So best of luck to our listeners. There's no doubt a little bit of cash here would help everyone, especially with the holidays coming up, as we'll do the cash contest also in the 4 o'clock hour and in the 5 o'clock hour. Now, let's get back here to the Democratic Socialists, what they're planning for this country. Told you right before the break. Abolish mandatory minimums in cash bail, established universal rent control, greatly reduced the U.S. military budget. We could just, you know, at some point we should just. Not today, but maybe if I have to have to read these again as they progress with their nightmare for America, maybe what we'll do is we'll just play the Soviet anthem when we talk about these guys. Because that's really what they want. They think the Soviet Union was not tried correctly. They're the right guys to try this stuff. In fact, when I saw Zohran Mamdani on the TV on Tuesday night, I know he's a lot younger, but just his face, he looked a little like Joseph Stalin. He does. He looks a little like Stalin, a younger version of Stalin. Talks like Stalin, too. And if Zohran Mamdani was here in the new... News talk, 1130 WISN studios and sitting across from me, and we had him on. And I said, hey, you know what? You know what he would do? He wouldn't get up out of the chair and punch the host. He'd be like, hey, that's a compliment. Joe Stalin, that's one of my guys. Sure he would probably say that. Because when you're for the things I said, let's throw some more of the Democratic Socialists of America want to throw on us here. Full voting rights to non-citizens. So you run across the southern border or the northern border or you come in by airplane. Somebody throws a ballot at you. And it's not even illegal to put that in the ballot box. You can vote. Full voting rights to non-citizens.
You see why they want an open border, folks. Do you see why? Full voting rights to non-citizens. That would take, thankfully, a constitutional amendment. Because if it wasn't a constitutional amendment, you know what happened. The minute the Democrats got back in power, they would actually do that. All they care about is power. They do not care about helping you. They do not care about this country. They do not care about the history of this country unless they want to trash it. The one thing they care about is their power. enhancing their power, and those in, not even their voters, but those in the government can enrich themselves because they see the government as their gravy train. They see the government as their cash cow. And this is a way to enshrine that forever. Hey, you know what? Non-citizens, you get all this free stuff and you vote for us. They're all going to be legal and we take over. And here's the last one, the old national popular vote for president. Because when they have those laws like they do in Illinois where you can have your ballot counted if it arrives 14 days after the election. Oh, as long as it's got the postmark on there. Or if it doesn't, who really knows? Who verifies that the postmark is correctly on there? Heck, you go to the post office these days. You don't always get your mail to go where it's supposed to go. But we're going to trust the post office to enforce these election laws in these far left-wing states, and we're going to think we have a legitimate election. But those are the things the Democratic Socialists want for your country. And that's what you have to think about. For those of you out there who say, you know, these off-your elections aren't that important. The midterms are not that big. You know what? Trump will get it done. Don't worry about it. Even if we lose the midterms, or maybe I don't have time to go vote in the mid-terms. You know what? I'm going to sit that one out. Trump will take care of it. Look, I have great admiration for Donald Trump. Is he a perfect human being? Nobody is. But he's a great president, one of our greatest presidents. And I agree with him probably on 99.3% of what he does. And I can't even think of what I disagree with him on right now. I'd have to really sit there and think about it. But I can tell you this, he can't get everything done on his own. You're seeing right now what's going on with the government shutdown. You have a government shutdown. The Democrats have always said pass a clean resolution. You have to keep the government open. Until this year, the Republicans are doing what the Democrats want to do. Until this year, then they change their mind. Oh, we got elections coming up in Virginia and New Jersey. And we're going to use the shutdown. We're going to weaponize the government shutdown because an NBC news poll says 52% of the people are going to blame Trump and the Republicans. And only 42% of the people are going to blame us. Well, of course that's the case. Because you, let's see, mainstream media in this country. Who do you think they're blaming for the shutdown? Are they blaming Chuck Schumer and the Democrats? Absolutely not. So the hardcore news consumer here on News Talk 1130 WISN, who gets the truth and on 1310 WIBA and Madison, and the people who listen to conservative radio, listen to fair and balanced news doesn't have to be conservative news. It doesn't have to be right down the middle news.
It can also be blogs that you read. It doesn't even have to be concerned right down the middle. Look, and even factually accurate is the Republicans over a dozen times have brought to the Congress and ultimately the Senate where it's getting held up, a continuing resolution to keep the government open, what the Democrats have always demanded. That's a fact. And except for Rand Paul, every Republican votes for this and a handful of Democrats vote for it too. And the government's closed because the Democrats and Chuck Schumer want to play politics. Chuck Schumer is so afraid of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. I mean, Chuck Schumer, I think, probably shakes himself at night to sleep in bed and pulls the covers over his head because he's so afraid of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. He thinks Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is going to primary him in 2028 and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez will win. And that might be the case in New York. That's very possible that that could actually be the case in New York. Heck, Chuck Schumer might not even run again, but that's why the government's closed. The government's closed. And also, you have the angle of illegal alien health care. Yes, they want to take it. Look, the Democratic socialists are running the show now in the Democratic Party. So Zohran Mamdani is the face of the Democratic Party at this point. Nancy Pelosi will get to that later. She retired as if she's not running again. He's going to leave the house next year. Chuck Schumer's on the way out. He's not radical enough. Dick Durbin from Illinois is stepping aside. He's been in either the House or the Senate for since I was a little kid. And that was a while ago, more than a while ago. But you get the idea. The old guard of the Democratic Party, which is crazy enough, is stepping aside. or will be forced to step aside. And this new breed of democratic politician is very scary for when you think about what's going on in this country. Now, I know some of you in the audience are saying, Jason Gottsin for Dan O'Don, take a deep breath. Take a deep breath here because when you think of Zohran Mamdani, he's going to fail miserably. Going to fail miserably. Well, of course he is going to fail miserably. But these ideas have been failing miser. Look, you don't have to look very far off the coast of Florida if you want 70 miles to the south is Cuba. They're driving 195 Chevys because there have been in the communist system for over 60 years. And that's what communism brings you. And communism, look, Zohran Mamdani can say he's a democratic socialist. The guy, Zohran Mamdani actually has. I made sure it was still there before the show. I went to, I took the brave route of going to X and looking up Zohran Mamdani's Twitter feed slash X feed. For those of you don't know Elon Musk bought it. Each according to their need, each according to their ability. Let me repeat it again for you. It's out there on X. Each according to their need, each according to their ability. That is Karl Marx Communist Lingo 101, right there. That is full on Marxism, is what we're talking about right there. And that's what Zohran Mamdani. He believes it's right on his Twitter page, X page. If you want to find me on Xwe's got some technical issues going on with the text line right now and everything. If you want to find me, if you want to send a note to the show, you can find me, Jason Gotch.
At Jason Gotts, J-S-O-N-G-O-C-H. That is my X-slash Twitter handle if you want to go ahead and reach me that way during the program. But that's really scary stuff because, look, this has been tried a long time with these neo-Marxist ideas. And unfortunately, Generation X. And, well, I used to say, you know, even a lot of the boomers realized in the silent generation, silent generation is pretty safe. I mean, they're the people in their 80s now and older. Those people understand communism doesn't work. Few of the boomers still think it works. They're out there, you know, watching MSNBC. Brains turn to dog food from all the MSNBC. It's just a mush in their skull. They're out there thinking Trump is the worst person ever to walk the face of the earth. And then you think about this idea that the millennials and the Gen Ziers, when you think about those folks, they've been through the school system where you don't learn about the horrors of communism. You don't learn about the horrors of socialism. In fact, in many units of education in this country, starting from elementary school on, and I know, look, elementary school, you're learning your ABCs, but they still sneak this stuff in there. They still sneak the code words. and the class warfare stuff. You hear all the time about these experiments in the schools of check your pre. Here's a worksheet. Fill it out and let's see what privilege you have. That's just a code word to try and. look at the communist system or the capitalist system and say okay well you know you have those privileges because it's a capitalist system and you look that poor kid next to you doesn't have it you know we need more we need more equality of outcome not equality of opportunity equality of opportunity is capitalism look we work our rear ends up sometimes it doesn't work out sometimes it does you keep working at it maybe you don't get as big a house as your neighbor but it's still better than living in communist cuba or the soviet union back in the day But equality of outcome is everybody's, everybody is miserable. That's really understood at that point. Everybody's miserable, but they don't teach you this in the schools. They teach you, thankfully, And I'll add this before I say. Thankfully, there hasn't been an active Nazi regime in the world since 1945. But they will make you believe that American conservatives are Nazis. They will make you think that they are racist, bigots, sexist, transphobes, all this kind of stuff. They'll demonize those people at that point because you say it enough, people believe the lie.
And then they'll look, oh, well, here's the side that's being nice and wanting to give everything to everybody. So the reason I'm going off on this tangent here is because the idea that Zohran Mamdani's going to fail miserably is factually accurate. He will at some point. But that doesn't mean the ideas are going to go away. That doesn't mean what he's saying is going to fade into the sunset with him, and people will say, oh, ma'am, Donnie failed with his government grocery stores in New York. When I go to the normal grocery store, the private grocery store, I get in the line, I get my blueberries, I get my bread, I get my cereal, I get my cereal, I get my cereal, I get in the beverage if you're an adult in the liquor aisle. And I had a good night after work. Versus going to the Zohran Mamdani grocery store. You're going to get the moldy blueberries. The bread's going to look like it's been there for three years. The milk's going to be all, you poured out of the jar, poured on the bottle. It's going to be all spoiled. And the ground beef will look like the cow died in 1964. But that doesn't, just because it's going to fail doesn't mean they're going to acknowledge it. There's going to be a new person coming up and a new person's going to go ahead and say the same bad ideas and they're going to try them again. Look, look, if these ideas should have been gone with the idea of Cuba, North Korea, the Soviet Union, but they're all coming back again and that's a scary thing for this country because in 1980, in 1990, I mean, let's forget the 80s for a second. Let's go to 1990s. As much as many in the audience and myself, look, I don't think Bill Clinton was a good president. I think you could do a lot worse. I think morally he was reprehensible. But Bill Clinton... got into office as being a quote unquote new democrat, a conservative Democrat, the Democratic Leadership Council, the 1980s that arose because they said, hey, we can't have these crook fringe radicals leading our party. You can't go all in with the far left. They're nuts. There are some left-wing things we can do, but we can't go in the far left with these communist socialists that hijacked the party in the late 60s into the 70s. And even Jimmy Carter, I know, was a Southern governor. But the idea under the surface was always that far-left movement in the Democratic Party. And Bill Clinton gets in office, tries some far-left things, gets slaughtered the elections in 1994. And what happens in 1994? The Republicans take over the House and the Senate. And Bill Clinton starts signing all these things, the Newt Gingrich is passing. because he knew he read the electorate and the electorate didn't want the far left and he had gotten elected as being not being a far left guy even though his first two years he tried to be far left. But that's a far cry where we're at right now. People rejected far left-wing politics in the 80s, 90s, even into the early 2000s. Then we get Barack Obama.
who was a far leftist, even though he's, I mean, he didn't govern anything like these people want to govern today. But you get the idea. He's a far leftist in 2008. He takes over the presidency in 2009. And then the reaction to his far left policies, especially after the 2014 midterms, he went far left, Trump's the natural reaction, and eventually goes to Biden because of the COVID stuff, and then it snaps back to Donald Trump. So the idea that now the Democrats aren't like, hey, well, Trump really hit a chord with some of the stuff, the border being closed, affordability. I know in Virginia, New Jersey, they talked about that stuff, those candidates. But overall, the far left movement, the National Democratic Party talks about affordability being an issue. Sure. And their answer is rent controls and government grocery stores. Which when you talk about affordability, that will, it's like printing money up. It's not going to work. Rent controls do not work. They haven't worked. They don't work. They never will work. It's an artificial way to try and manipulate the capitalist system. It's not going to work. Government grocery stores. They tried it in Kansas City a few years ago. It was an abysmal failure. That has never worked because the profit motive is outside the realm of a government grocery store. And the reason you get good things when you go to your grocery store is very simple. Because there's a profit motive for the people who own that grocery store. There's a reason people are there. The workers are there to get money because they want to have that money to live their life. The owners take a risk. They build a business. And they work hard because... They want to have more money for themselves, maybe their family for whatever reason. There's motivation there. There's no motivation for a government grocery store to put quality things on the shelf. But the whole point is the idea that these policies are appealing to people in this country, scary thoughts. Really scary thoughts. And a challenge for conservatives, the Republican Party. independents who don't believe in this stuff, maybe even some moderate Democrats who are listening today, and who have been following this stuff the last few days, is to try and convince people that this is not good for the future of America. And what scares me is that even if Mam Donnie fails, That doesn't necessarily mean these ideas are going anywhere. This is News Talk 1130 WISN, also on WIBA, 1310, and Madison. It's Jason Gotts, the pleasure of filling in for Dan O'Donnell. I'm here today. I am here tomorrow. We will take a quick time out, and you want to talk about lunacy. You can always find it on X. I found it for you right after this. And all right, as promised, here we go.
Trump derangement syndrome just seems to take a new level every time I look into. I mean, just when you don't think they can get more crazy, that sad story, it kind of sadly got overshadowed on Tuesday. The UPS plane crash down in Louisville cargo plane never made it off, I mean, barely made it off the ground. crashed into an industrial area. I believe the death toll is at 12 or 13 now from this. Obviously, everybody on board three people, and there were some deaths on the ground. But clearly, within a few hours, you saw the engine, if you follow this, all the engine was laying on the runway. There was obviously some catastrophic failure there. And what happened was clearly something was wrong with that aircraft or an engine fell off. But leave it to the X machine. to deliver us with some crazy lunatic leftist showing Trump derangement syndrome to the millionth level. Some guy named Morgan J. Freeman, this is not the actor. I want to emphasize this is not Morgan Freeman the actor. It's some lunatic on X. Morgan J. Freeman. He calls himself a proud girl dad, TV producer, filmmaker, human rights and racial justice advocate and abolitionist, whatever the heck that means. So he tweets X's, whatever you want to call it these days, back on November 4th after this crash, where the engine's on the runway. Sadly, the engine is on the runway. Breaking. Aerial footage shows the UPS cargo plane crash near Louisville, Kentucky airport. Police confirm there are victims and the blood is on Donald Trump's hands. Again, an engine fell off an aircraft, and this lunatic on X says Morgan J. Freeman, not the actor. Some human rights and racial justice advocate and abolitionist says, police confirm there are victims from the plane crash and the blood is on Donald Trump's hands. Now they're blaming Donald Trump for a catastrophic failure of an aircraft taking off from an airport in Louisville, Kentucky. The engine is on the runway, but it is Donald Trump's fault that this happened. It's amazing. You know what? There are people who actually believe this. You go on, you scroll down here, and 5.4 favorites on this, that's 5,400 people, favorited this thing. Are you kidding? I mean, if Donald Trump could cure cancer, legitimately, and they would say, well, cancer was a good thing, you know, they're a benefit to cancer. That's how nuts these folks are. It's crazy.
Yeah, so it really, it is amazing how this is the type of stuff that spreads, though. It's on social media. People read social media. I got two great stories coming up later in the show. Of person, one my experience and one my wife's experience, trumped arrangement. Just random folks coming up to us expressing just ignorant opinions about the president and the political things going on in our country. Just happened. One was earlier this year. One just happened this week. It's amazing the ignorance out there. But we'll get in that a little bit later on also. Nancy Pelosi. Steps aside. Yeah, you heard me right. Nancy Pelosi. Bye-bye. We'll talk about that. The scariest win in the election back on Tuesday. We'll get into that as well. Government shutdown stuff we're going to talk about too. Lots to do. Jason got in for Dan O'Donnell. News Talk 1130 WISN. Also 1310 WIBA in Madison. For Dan O'Donnell, News Talk, 1130 WISN, also 1310 WIBA in Madison. We will have the fall fortune cash contest keyword coming up. A little bit later on in the hour, we always want to get that keyword out to you so you can win some cash, whether you're listening in Milwaukee or Madison or on the stream. Always want to have our great listeners win some money, especially with the holidays coming around. We've had winners up and down, up and down over the last several weeks here listening on the radio station. We want you to be one of those. So stick with us for that keyword for the fall fortune cash contest. Also, you want to follow me on X. You can do so. At Jason Gotch, G-O-C-H on that last name spelling on my Twitter handle. Feel free to Twitter or X the show or whatever you're calling it these days on any of the topics we are talking about. Now, we talked a lot about Zohran Mamdani last hour. And I'm going to get to somebody who's a lot scarier, at least to me, than Zohran Mamdani. But I wanted you to hear some of what Zohran Mamdani had to say in his own words on election night after he won. Now, there's the two schools of thought when you win an election. And most people take road number one. Donald Trump even took this road when he won in 2016. And even in 2024, too, he took that road where he was the uniter. He was going to be one of those people who, even if you didn't like them, and, you know, you knew it wasn't going to happen. There's no way the left would give him credit for anything. But he at least on election night gave those speeches that would make you think the country was going to unite behind him. And he really tried to in 2016. I don't, 2024, I think he tries to, too, but people just, there's 40% in the country that will not give him credit for anything. But Zohran Mamdani could have taken Road 1. Because he's a novice as far as being politically known in this country. A lot of people know the name. They know he's far left. But how many people have seen this guy speak? Not a lot of people. So he could have taken road one. But he didn't. He took divisive road number two. I could not believe. I'm sitting there on my couch. And I couldn't believe he invoked the name of this guy at the start of his speech.
We will go ahead and get to this in just a second. I know we've got this ready to go. I know we had some technical issues, but maybe we won't have it. We may have it. Let's see. The guy we're going to talk to here. Man, Donnie, who he's going to talk to about is a guy by the name of Eugene V. Debs. I touched on, but he actually just, he brought that up right at the start of his speech, socialist communist leader from the early 1900s, ran for president on the socialist party ticket. for several elections. I think he had 6% of the vote in 1912 when Teddy Roosevelt was running as a third party candidate, and William Howard Taft was eventually elected, or Woodrow Wilson was elected president in 1912. But I'm not trying to give you a history lesson here. But of all the people to bring up, a far left socialist leader is who he brought up. And of course, he gets into all this other nonsense that he talks about. He's going to raise taxes on New Yorkers. And do you realize in New York? The top 1%, just slightly less than the top 1%, pay 40% all the taxes in New York City. So he's going to do the raising taxes thing. He's a Democratic socialist. He's bragging about all this stuff. And it's one of those situations where you listen to this guy talking to think, this guy has got to be the most dangerous candidate. that was elected tonight. I mean, this is a Spangburger or Abigail Spanberger in Virginia tries to tow the line as a, you know, a traditional liberal. Mikie Sherrill in New Jersey is far left. But again, try to talk some kitchen table issues there, even though she won't govern that way. But you talk about those candidates and then you talk about Zohran Mamdani. You think Zohran Mamdani is the craziest person you're going to see or here on election night. Now, we didn't hear much from the guy who scares me a lot more than Zohran Mamdani. There's somebody out there that scares me a lot more than Zohran Mamdani. And I'm telling you right now, Zohran Mamdani is... He's going to fail. And a lot of the things he is planning on doing are not good for the people of New York. But it's New York. We don't live in New York. People here in Wisconsin, I mean, you're far removed. You're going to have some candidates. They're going to come out and try and do the same things here. But they probably won't get as far, hopefully as Zohran Mamdani did. But the real scary thing about the 2025 election, as far as one individual candidate goes, as bad as Zohran Mamdani might be, is this guy Jay Jones in Virginia. This was the most disappointing part of election night 2025 for me, was that Jay Jones, the attorney general candidate in Virginia, actually beat the incumbent Republican in that race. Now, many of you are probably familiar that Jay Jones said some really bad things in a text match as conversation back in 2022. He was talking to a Republican legislator.
in 2022 via text. And he was talking about the Speaker of the House of Virginia at that time, or the House of Delegates, they call it down there, and the Commonwealth of Virginia. And he actually said this in text message. Now, look, we all say things at times. There are things that we say, and we don't mean them. There are things you say, you know, I used to play sports for years and you're going to kill that guy. No, you're not. You're just saying that because you just mean you're going to beat them in the game. You're going to shove them in a basketball game maybe when you're going for it. You don't mean that. It's almost used as a figure of speech. You hear people say that, oh, after the game, you know, or during the game, next time we put, no, you don't mean that you're at the bar later on. You're having a beer with the guy talking about the Packers or talking about the Bears or talking about whatever team you like. But. This Jay Jones stuff is way deeper and way, way farther out there in a scary way. So Jay Jones, who is now the chief law enforcement officer elect of the Commonwealth of Virginia, keep that in mind what I'm about to tell you, the chief law enforcement officer elect in the state of Virginia. He's not somebody in that, you know, some state senator or say member of the House of Delegates or whatever it is, or he's not some county commissioner in charge of the roads. He's the chief law enforcement officer elected the state of Virginia. And he actually texted this to a Republican, surprisingly, a Republican legislative. And they must have been, maybe they had a cordial relationship. Obviously, if he's going to talk like this about people, they must have been friends at the time. He actually said this in text. Three people, two bullets. Gilbert meeting Todd Gilbert, the Speaker of the House down there in Virginia at the time. Hitler and Pol Pot. Polpate, a mass murder. Hitler, no words need to be spoken other than the name Hitler to know how bad he is, or was. Gilbert gets two bullets to the head. Spoiler. Put Gilbert in the crew with the two worst people you know, and he receives both bullets every time. He also said, regarding... people that he didn't like in the government on the Republican side. If those guys die before me, I'll go to their funerals and urinate on their graves. I clean that up for air. Send them out awash in something. He also talked about killing the Speaker of the House's kids. He also said, I mean, do I think Todd and Jennifer Gilbert are evil? And they may be creating little, and they are creating, and that they're creating little fascists? Yes. So this guy's wanting to kill the Speaker of the House in Virginia. He is wanting to kill little children, apparently. He's talked about putting bullets in them too in a text message conversation. He also says the kids are, they're breeding little fascists. And he apparently knew this guy and his kids. And this guy felt comfortable enough to say these things in a text message to a Republican legislator. And when this came out in late September, everybody was like, well, you know, he's going to be done. There's an incumbent attorney general Mieris there, Jason Mierrez. He's, you know, he's not that controversial. He's probably going to win because nobody wants this guy to be.
the chief law enforcement officer, the Attorney General of Virginia, what he thinks like this, and he came out and gave the standard apology. Now, I want to take you back, what I just told you here, again, wants to kill, wanted to kill the Speaker of the House of Virginia, wanted to kill the guy's kids, says the kids are fascist, that the husband and wife are evil. And I take you back to the early 1990s, I believe, 1991. David Duke, a reprehensible figure, had actually won the Republican nomination for the governorship of Louisiana against a guy by the name of Edwin Edwards, who was his Democrat, old school, corrupt as heck. After he ended upwind in that governorship in 1991 in Louisiana, he went to jail for corruption. So he was not an upstanding figure. But George Bush was the president of the time, George H.W. Bush, Republicans all across the country and says, hey. David Duke is reprehensible. David Duke is on the ballot as a Republican. Do not vote for David Duke. He does not represent Republican values. We do not want David Duke representing us. Go ahead and vote for Edwin Edwards. He's Democrat. Doesn't have a good reputation. It's always Louisiana is a corrupt state. There are things going on there. He's probably not doing right. But it's still better to have an ex-Cuclux Klan guy as a Republican in office. To the credit of... The Bush administration and Republicans at that time, they said, we're not going to be associated with David Duke. Go ahead and vote for the Democrat. It's fine. Democrat, better than this guy. Take a bit to 2025. In Virginia and nationally Democrat politicians, who condemn this guy, who said don't vote for him? Can you name me one? Because I do tons of research for these shows when I sit in here on News Talk 1130 WISN and 1310 WIBA. I scour X. I scour the blogs. I watch the TV. I do reading of articles. I do a lot of preparation because I feel that's my responsibility to everybody here at the radio station, to the audience, to the person that I'm filling in for. But if you know somebody, if you really think you can send to me on X at Jason Gotts, you can send, find me the Democrat that said, hey, you know what, this guy Jay Jones that wants to put bullets in kids' heads and wants to be the Attorney General of Virginia. Maieris, I don't agree with him. He's been the Attorney General for four years. Pretty non-controversial Republican. Go ahead and pull the lever, push the punch card, touch the computer screen. Go ahead and vote for Jason Mierrez because you know what? We do not want this guy, Jay Jones, even though he's a Democrat holding office in Virginia when he says these things. No, no. Abigail Spanberger down there. She said, well, you know, it's terrible what he said, but he's apologized. Nationally, the Democrats, this is really bad, but he's not, this is not the Jay Jones that I know. This is not that he, he said he was sorry. And, you know, I'm not going to, I'm not going to tell him to withdraw to this race. And they rallied around this guy.
They rallied around a guy who wants to put bolts in the heads of little kids. In the modern Democrat and leftist progressive world, there is nothing that they will stand against their guy. There's nothing that disqualifies their candidate no matter how reprehensible it is. I mean, if this doesn't disqualify you, As a candidate, what does? What would disqual? And the idea that this guy didn't mean this stuff. It's one thing if you're in a conversation with somebody. And, you know, you get riled up at the bar. You had a couple of drinks. You say something dumb. Somebody calls you, hey, yeah, that was bad. I didn't really mean it. You know, I'm just fired up bad day at the office. But to actually text this stuff and go on and on. And get this one. I'm circling as I'm talking because I'm so frustrated. I mean, I don't get frustrated by a lot, but this is frustrating and scary if this guy actually won. He actually, so the woman who was he was texting with here is a Kerry Coyner. She was a state delegate at the time. And she was, she said this stuff in the text. I'm not going to read all, but basically said this stuff is, it's upsetting her, stop this stuff. And Jay Jones actually said, yes, I've told you before. Only when people feel pain personally. Do they move on policy? So to get his policies, left-wing radical cuck stuff, no doubt about it, passed and accepted, he's okay with this Speaker of the House having violence committed against himself, his children. And apparently, if you believe what Jay Jones said here, yes, I've told this before. Only when people feel pain personally do they move on policy. So I guess anybody in the government that he doesn't agree with on the right side of the aisle, they need to feel pain personally, like violence committed against them. Because that's okay because it will help advance his political causes. Look, and you live in the Commonwealth of, who knows? We have a lot of listeners worldwide on the stream. So we might be listening who's driving through Wisconsin right now, who's from Virginia. Maybe you're getting the rental car back to the airport. You're to fly back there. Maybe you're listening on the stream. You're sitting there. And this is the guy that is the law enforcement. You feel safe as a Republican with this guy. Something comes up. You got to go before court. You got to go to this guy for something. You feel real safe when this is what he thinks. And don't believe his apology for a second. You don't say these things. He apologized because he got called out on it. That's why he apologized. Because he got called out on it. And the Democrats circled, they will vote for anybody to advance their agenda, no matter how reprehensible that person is.
And this Jay Jones character proves it. Now, an equally bad part of the story. So the Republican legislator, I told you her name. She was in office for quite a while. And she actually lost her. race for re-election back on Tuesday to a Democratic candidate for the House of Delegates. And she had been in office, I think, four or five terms from this story. So she outs this guy for the scoundrel that he is, and then she loses her seat. But you know what I'll tell you? I guarantee you a lot of these voters out there. How many of these voters, especially in Northern Virginia, that voted for this Jay Jones person, you walk by their house and they have the hate has no home here sign. The be kind with the little bumblebee on the side. And don't worry, there's signs out there. Don't worry, everything will be okay on the lawn. And then they have the... Diversity is our strength. I've always, I've never done it, but I've always wanted to go on those people. They're in my neighborhood too. They have the signs. I always want to, hey, I really appreciate, you appreciate diversity. It really makes me feel good and hey, it has no home here. Because I am a Donald Trump voter three times, and I do not feel very well accepted in the neighborhood, but I know you are out there and you're going to welcome me as a neighbor because you have be kind. Diversity is our strength. You believe in differences of opinion. And you also have hate has no home here. And then I'd be ready for them to start charging me with a shovel because, well, I'll try you're for Trump. We throw those rules out the window. We don't, hypocrisy on the signs in the front yard. Unbelievable. I would love to see the overlap of people with those signs who voted for Jay Jones, who wants to off the speaker of the house at the time in 2022 in Virginia and his kids too. And then go, you know what, on their graves. Real nice guy. He's now an elected Democrat official. Congratulations, Democratic Party. You guys really know how to find the winners out there. This is Jason Gotts in for Dan O'Donnell, News Talk 1130 WISN, also on WIBA 1310 in Madison. When we come back, shana, nah, nah, nah, nah, hey, hey, goodbye to Nancy Pelosi. Turkey Day coming up, I heard President Trump say, Earlier this week, the prices for Thanksgiving are down 25%. That's the estimate. Boy, oh, boy. That's actually a nice little break. I mean, you think about what was going on during the Joe Biden era. I go to the grocery store. I look at the turkey prices and all the Thanksgiving stuff and all the prices. Just be like, okay, well, that credit card statement, it's going to be a lot bigger this month and especially during the holiday season. So at least the Thanksgiving prices look like they're coming down. And if you win that cash contest, you get some money for Thanksgiving and Christmas as well. So we wish you the best of luck. Now, some big news politically today. It was expected, but it finally happened officially. Nancy Pelosi. After all these years in the Congress, and I'm really stunned by Nancy Pelosi. I'll explain why in just a second, but first, let's get to Nancy Pelosi. Here's what she had to say earlier today in a tape message. I will not be seeking re-election to Congress. With a grateful heart, I look forward to my final year of service as you're a proud representative. I'm actually surprised she stuck around as long as she did because usually she left the speakership after the 2022 election. Usually you kind of ride off into the sunset. No, she stuck around. She wasn't even the House minority leader that went to Hakeem Jeffries. And she actually stuck around. It's going to be for four more years from being the speaker. So I'm actually surprised by that because usually that's not how it goes. But that's just how she clings to power. And she had a lot to do with Joe Biden stepping aside. She really is. Very vindictive candidate all those years and politician. Someone who, terrible memories of what she did to this country. But Nancy Pelosi also had this to say today. For decades, I've cherished the privilege of representing our magnificent city in the United States of Congress. It seems prophetic now that the slogan of my very first campaign in 1987 was a voice that will be heard. And it was you who made those words come true. And unfortunately, maybe for the people of San Francisco, they like that because they're again to the left of the old Soviet Union. But for the rest of us... Those words that Nancy Pelosi made, they made come true for us. It was a nightmare. I mean, the Nancy Pelosi speakership, two four-year stents as the Speaker of the House, it was an absolute nightmare having Nancy Pelosi dictating policy in this country. And I've got my memories of Nancy Pelosi, but if you don't believe me that she's a very vindictive, evil person, she really is. Even in her, I hate saying that about somebody, but she was on CNN earlier this week.
Nancy Pelosi joined CNN earlier this week, and she said this about President Trump. It'll sound like I'm awful about Trump because he's just a vile creature. The worst thing on the face of the earth, but anyway. You think he's the worst thing on the face of the earth? I do, yeah, I do. Because he's the president of the United States and he does not honor the Constitution of the United States. It's one of my pet peeves right there. There's a lot in that statement. But this idea that Donald Trump does not honor the Constitution of the United States, what are they talking about? Are they talking about January 6th? When Donald Trump said, go protest peacefully. He's on tape. Were there a few knuckleheads who got out of control on January 6th? Absolutely. Were there weapons there? No. Was Nancy Pelosi the one who did not take Donald Trump's offer to have tens of thousands of national guard there to protect the Capitol? Yes, she was. So Nancy Polo, that's the only thing I can, the constitute, what is she talking about? Nancy Pelosi. was in charge of the House of Representatives for eight years in her tenure as a representative elected from San Francisco to the United States Congress. Two four-year stints. In both of those four-year stints of her running the country from the House of Representatives as the highest office holder there as the Speaker of the House, she also had the Senate. So if they're talking about immigration law, she had the power to change the immigration law in this country. She could have passed something out of the House, sent it over the Senate. They could have changed immigration law in this country. They did not do that. That never happened. Now, they passed that H.R. 1 that they tried to get, they were working on that for a while. But they were never able to work together, the House and the Senate, Nancy Pelosi's tenure, to pass rules to have an open border in this country. To have rules were... there can be no enforcement of a border or anybody who's in this country illegally. Because I'm thinking she's talking about Trump and ICE. Well, she didn't say it, but I'm trying to read in her mind what could be unconstitutional. All Donald Trump is enforcing the laws that were passed by Congress over several different laws over decades that have happened in this country. What else? I mean tax policy? I mean. He's gotten his big beautiful bill passed. He got the Tax Act and 17 passed. I mean, what is she talking about? He was elected. He got the most votes in 2024, and he won. The Electoral College. They throw these things out there that he's violating the Constitution, and they can't give an example of this. They go to these courts, and they charge things, especially with immigration and things that he's doing there. And then usually that stuff gets overturned, because this is stuff that has been delegated to the executive branch. So it's one of my pet peeves again when they start saying he's acting.
outside of the Constitution. It's not true at all. The only point to that you could even argue is January 6th, but then you get the tape where President Trump said it was peacefully. It's not his fault. There are knuckleheads in the crowd. It's that simple. Now, Nancy Pelosi said this on CNN yesterday on Brett Baer on his news show on the evening on Fox. Hakeem Jeffries was on, and Brett Baer asked Hakeem Jeffries about Nancy Pelosi's comments. A vile creature, the worst thing on the face of the earth. Do you stand by what your mentor, Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi, said about the president? Nancy Pelosi, Speaker Nancy Pelosi, is a legendary figure, a hero. She's done so much for so many, over so many years. She speaks powerfully. She speaks authentically. She speaks authentically. eloquently on issues of importance to the American people. Even in that moment? As I indicated, Nancy Pelosi is a legend. If you saw that, if you saw that, actually, I watched that and then I pulled the audio, but it looked like a hostage video. It really did. Hakeem Jeffries did not want to go there. He didn't want to answer that question as all. He just went to the go back in time. She's a legend. Well, what about this thing that? She's a legend. Didn't want to criticize Nancy Pelosi. But again, again, they're not, they didn't criticize the guy in Virginia. Who wanted to put bullets in the heads of kids, who's now the Attorney General Elect, Jay Jones. So you think they're going to criticize Nancy Pelosi for Colin Trump, the most evil person on the planet? And think about how delusional they. I mean, whether you like Donald Trump or not. And I know there are some in our audience who probably don't. We have a cross-section of people listening. There's a lot of people listen to this program right now who don't like Donald Trump. There are people out there who don't. But the most evil person in the war, Vladimir Putin, the mass murder is going on it? I mean, Al-Qaeda's still out there. You've got all kinds of different, I mean, drug dealers, cartels, the communist Chinese government, the little dictator over in North Korea. How about the folks run in Cuba these days? Nicholas Maduro down there in Venezuela. And Donald Trump is the worst person on the face of the year. She's crazy. She's a nut job. She's a kook. But you know what's scary about that too? Is she represents their base. Politics is downstream from the culture. That's absolutely true. There is a base of Democrats, probably half that party right now who believes what she said. Probably half don't. Half might still be somewhat sane. But there are half the people probably who vote Democrat right now who's like, yeah, he is the worst person in the world. Really? Worse than Kim Jong-un-oh. Yeah, absolutely. Kim Jong-un-U, not as bad guy, but not as bad as Trump. How about President Xi Jinping?
The Chikams. No, not a good guy, but not Trump. Well, not Nicholas Maduro. Well, I'm a bad guy, but not as bad as, I mean, this is, this is their thought process here. They actually believe that Donald Trump. is the worst person on the planet. Now, here are my memories of Nancy Pelosi, okay? Here's what I, when they say she was this, this great stateswoman and advanced the country, she didn't, none of that. Here's what Nancy Pelosi, my four things I think of when I think of Nancy Pelosi. I think of Obamacare, which. Terrible legislation. We are paying for to this day. You are overcharged for your premiums. Then they kick in subsidies and they raise the insurance premiums even more. You small business owners listening, men and women of this show, you know exactly what I'm talking about. Maybe you're a sole proprietor. You got a couple of employees. You can't get in the big insurance game because you just don't have the numbers to afford that. So you go on the Obamacare Exchange. You pay 30 grand for a policy that gets you a 20 grand deductible. You're not using the thing until you paid $50,000 out of your own pocket because you're paying for a bunch of things you do not want. You do not want transgender surgeries available. You do not want abortion coverage. You don't believe in it or you're a man. You can't have an abortion. You've got to pay for all this stuff. So you're out there and you're paying exorbitant premiums for Obamacare. That legislation, Nancy Pelosi, authored it as much as anybody. And you can't get those catastrophic cheap policies that I got before Obamacare when I first started working in radio, told this story before. I blew up my knee, paid a couple thousand out of pocket. The policy was like 100 bucks a month. It worked perfect. I didn't have to pay tens of thousands of dollars for something I didn't need. I didn't have insurance access at the time through an employer. You can't get those anymore. You have 30 grand out of pocket, 20 grand, 18 grand deductible before you go ahead and you get any benefits from that. Also, what do I remember about Nancy Pelosi? The juvenile nature of ripping up her speech before Trump's last, or ripping up her speech as Trump finished his last state of the union in 2020. You remember she was the speaker and she's sitting up there and she ripped up the speech like a little kid in third grade that couldn't get their way because they didn't get enough candy in their lunch bag when mom packed it for school. Just a juvenile gesture to her base. I also will always remember she came to the Marxist in her party. Nancy Pelosi is a bad legislator, but she was never on the, she was close, but she was never at that neo-Marxist stage. But when Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Ilyon Omar and the rest of them took to the stage, oh, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez cater to them. Or I'm sorry, Nancy Pelosi catered to Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez in that crowd. She gave way to that far left lunacy in the Democratic Party we see today. And maybe. For those out there, if you ever wish you could be like Nancy Pelosi, there's one more thing I always remember about her. I do wish I could trade stock as well as Nancy Pelosi and her family. I and her husband especially. I do. I wish I could, if I could trade stock as well as her, I love being here.
on News Talk 1130 WISN and 1310 WIBA and Mass. I'd love it, Jason Gottsin for Dan O'Donnell. I'd still be doing it. But I'd probably have a limousine drop me off at the door. I'd be, I have 10 houses. I'd have it because she never loses. I mean, seriously, she buys these companies and they go back exponentially. Oh, Nancy Pelosi bought, well, let's just say, for example, I don't mind. They're bought Navidia. Navidia what up? 2,000 percent, two years, of course. Nancy picks stocks better than any stock picker on the planet. And, geez, I wonder why that's the case. I wonder why Nancy Pelosi picks stocks. Is she really that good? Because I've always been taught if you pick. It's so hard to play the stock market if you're an amateur. 90% or more that people lose their money. Not Nancy. She's not a financial advice. It's been in the government or a whole life. Give me a break. I mean, those are the four things I remember about Nancy, and I wish I could trade stock as well as her. When we come back from the break, my personal experiences with some out there who don't like the president. It's Jason Gotts in for Dan O'Donnell. Back after this. 1310, WIBA and Madison. I'm here today for Dan. I'm also here tomorrow for Dan. So great to be with you in early November. Lots going on. Talking about the election, a little bit of what happened. We talked about that early in the show. We'll get into more of that over the next couple of days. I'm also going to explore some other things, including the filibuster. We've got that. Donald Trump wants, President Trump wants to get rid of the filibuster. We'll talk about that. We'll get to that tomorrow, actually. A lot of redistricting stuff tomorrow, too. Fun stories to mix in. But I got to tell a couple of recent. Well, one's a little bit older story, but it flows into what happened to me earlier this week. So it's amazing how. A certain group of senior citizens out there. You see them at the No King's Rally. They are out there. They are in force. And they think Donald Trump's the worst person on the planet. And there are so many seniors like my dad and my father-in-law and my mother-in-law who are like the opposite of this. They are pro-Trump. They are pro-America. They are low taxes. They are traditional values, especially economically, you know, anything you, any word. What Trump's doing, they like what he's doing. They appreciate him bringing sanity back to the government. But there's a segment of our older population. And my wife bumped into this earlier this year. This was right after President Trump got elected within the first month. She's at the food store by our house. And my wife, just to set this up, and I'm not trying to get brownie points, so I get a nice dinner when I get home, but she's a very nice down-to-earth approachable person. Smiles at people, ask questions. She genuinely... likes people, which is a good quality. Probably one of the reasons I got married. She likes people. I kind of do, too, except some of these crazy Democrats that apparently don't like me on violence against the Republicans, but that's beside the point. But so she's in the food store. She's walking out. She walks, she's walking out with some other older woman with pushing the carts and walked by the newspapers. And the older woman just volunteers to my wife. Oh, he's trying to take over the post office now. Meaning President Trump. And my wife just looks and just kind of smiles. Oh, yeah, it's the newspaper, you know, whatever. Try brush it up. You'll brush off like in a polite way. Nice like listening, but I'm not going to engage you. Which, when that happens, people with any sense of awareness, you think, okay, this person probably doesn't agree with me politically. So let's talk about the weather.
Let's talk about the local sports page that might be showing to. Oh, there was a big win for the home team. Let's talk about that. Let's talk about, oh, what are you cooking for dinner if you want to engage in a conversation? No. This woman just goes on and on and on about Trump. Just, oh, this and that. He's going to take over all this stuff. And my wife goes, well, I voted for him. And the woman looks, it says back to my wife. Well, I hope you're happy with what's going on. And my wife goes, I love all the winning. I can't get enough of the winning. The winning's great. And they go their separate ways. It's amazing how indoctrinated these people. The woman, you know, I wish you're the best. She's probably a sweet old lady who watches MSNBC 14 hours a day and actually believes. What she hears is that Donald Trump's the worst person on the planet. So fast forward earlier this week. A couple of relatives gave my kids five bucks. The grandparents and one of our extended relatives sent in a card five bucks for my kids. My in-laws were up. My kids' grandparents and they gave them each five bucks. So they could have, each have ten bucks to go to the store and spend on little toys, whatever, candy after Halloween. So we head to Walmart on Monday. And my son had been there. And my son loves to, he loves like little animal figurines. He's at that age. He's five years old. And he likes to set up like, he knows all the animals. He likes to set up like habitats for them. Things I never would have been able to do at five, to be honest. I would do that. But he likes this stuff. And good for him. He's into science and nature and things like that. But he knew he wanted these little animals that were in a plastic tube, but they were in the aisle where you had to go, you had a wait in line. Not for the automatic checkout, but the human being. And you had a wait in line to get to that part of the aisle with the candy and the gum and all that kind of stuff. So there's a guy on a motorized scooter. He had to be like 85. I thought he was like 90 because my dad's 82 and my dad's like 82 going on 60. He's as with it as anybody. He can walk. He cut his lawn yesterday. This guy looked a lot older. But my wife thought maybe about 85. So maybe the guy didn't age well. Whatever. It's a nice enough fella. He's like, oh, the kids are, what are you waiting for? Oh, they like, my son wants the animals and my wife's with me, the old family's there. And I'm like, oh, yeah, it's, you know, the guys are like, oh, it's nice. The kids are here. Oh, you guys are out. And then he just volunteers this one out of nowhere. You know, might not be Christmas this year because of Donald Trump and the tariffs. Can you believe that? There might not be Christmas this year because of Donald Trump and the tariffs. 100% tariffs, no toys, no Christmas. And my wife and I just kind of look at him and smile and just like, okay, I could easily argue with this guy. He's 85. I have no idea. You know, I mean, I hope he makes it to 100, but he might not make it to tomorrow. He's got his caregiver with him. He's on the motorized scooter. And he said something else about President Trump and, you know, he said it again. And it's like, we're looking at you smiling. Pal, read the room. We probably voted for Trump. We didn't agree with you on it. But just the folks that volunteer. The reason I'm telling you this is kind of funny stories, in my opinion, but also the people that are so indoctrinated that actually believe everybody agrees with them. They look at you and they're like, well, of course you agree, Trump's a monster. There's going to be no Christmas this year. Or he's taking over the world in the polls. Of course you agree with me. No, I don't. No, my wife does that. We don't agree with you. 50% of the country does not agree.
with you. It showed up in the election in 2024. Are you kidding me? But they actually, they cannot believe. There is another idea or thought that exists. It's unbelievable. And that's what we're up against. That's what we're up against out there. That kind of thought. Jason Gotchen for Dan O'Donnell. News Talk 11. 30 WISN 1310 WIBA. Back after this. And Rand Paul, interesting. I've always liked Rand Paul, but sometimes he can get a little quirky. Senator from Kentucky, he's been the one who's been voting with the Democrats not to end the shutdown. And now today he's trying to block in the Senate, Senator John Robert F. Kennedy Jr.. from Louisiana has a measure to withhold congressional members pay during the shutdown. Rand Paul's trying to block this and say he doesn't want to pay less people in a shutdown. He wants to pay more. It's a nice statement on paper, but when you think about it, you don't want to pay the people who are causing the shutdown. That does not look good. It's one of those things where my dad used to own a business, and he always said he was the last guy to get paid. The owners are the last guy to get paid if they owe payroll. So if there are all these programs. And a lot of them we'd like to cut, but you have to cut them either through statutes or if the executive branch can cut them. But there's some that have to remain in place. But why are the people who are the elected representatives still getting paid and a lot of other people are not like the air traffic controllers? I mean, you got to pay them. You got to pay the military. Those people need to be paid. And for Rand Paul to block this when they're having problems paying those folks and, oh, but the big six-figure salaries are running for the congressman and the senators, not a good look. Got to disagree with Rand Paul on this one. It is Jason Gotts. We come back top of the hour. Lots, you're going to love this pet story. Actually, you're not. Also, we're going to talk about the shutdown in depth after this. Welcome back. Great to be with you. Jason Gotchen for Dan O'Donnell News Talk, 1130 WISN, 1310, WIBA and Madison. We'll have our 5 o'clock hour fall fortune cash contest keyword coming up a little bit later on in the hour. You can always find me. On social media at Jason Gotch, G-O-C-H the last name spelling on my X-slash Twitter handle. I spell my last name because, look, if you get my last name pronunciation right, if you just see it, you should go buy a lottery ticket because most people don't get it right. Almost nobody does. It's how in the old days I used to screen out the telemarketers. Somebody would call in the old days when you had an answering machine or cell phones were just starting up. People would call and get the last name wrong. Okay, this person does not know me. to sell me aluminum siding. God bless you. I live in an apartment. I don't need aluminum siding. Thanks for the call. So that's why I spell the last name. So it's easy for you to find me on social media. You always reach me during the show, after the show, before the show anytime, on the X slash Twitter handle. Now, there is a report out with Politico that there's a deal in nearing possibility.
It's not probable. It's possible to reopen the government now that the election's over. So there might be a vote tomorrow in the Senate. Changes could keep the government open longer and it could stay through the weekend, have this vote apparently. So there's a possibility the government could reopen. Don't want to get people's hopes up out there if you're flying during the holiday season because right now, unfortunately, There's a lot of flight delays out there because they just don't have the air traffic control staff. And I think I just saw there's like 5,000 flight delays throughout the country. I got Fox on here in the studio. There's been over 100 flights canceled today. This would become a nightmare over Thanksgiving week if they can't get the government back open again. And again, there's motivation on both sides to keep it closed, keep it open. Personally, does the government that shut down affect me? No. Does it affect a lot of you out there? No, but if you got to go stand in the airport line, it's going to affect you. So for that reason, it'll be interesting to see if this thing drags out over the next few weeks or if they can get this thing open sooner rather than later. We'll keep you posted. If anything breaks during the program, doesn't look like it will. I'll be here tomorrow. Who knows what will happen in 24 hours or 22 hours. I'll be back 3 o'clock central time. Who knows? Maybe the government will have reopened at that point. I kind of doubt it, but you've got to think that with the election over, this was a stunt by Chuck Schumer. To juice the turnout, especially in Virginia, but there's government workers all across the country, but especially in blue states. There's a lot of sympathy towards the government being shut down, even though it wasn't the fault of Donald Trump and the Republicans. They're getting blamed for it, 52, 42 in the latest NBC poll. But the reality was Chuck Schumer would not allow continuing resolutions to pass, even though some of his five or six of his. people in his caucus wanted them to. And here we are, one of the longest government shutdowns that I can remember happening in recent years, at least. And I think it's now the longest government shutdown ever. I think I heard that today, actually. So you think about the government being shut down for now over five weeks. That's a long time. And we'll have to see how that one plays out. But before we talk more about the shutdown, we're going to get to this crazy pet story. And they always bring it to politics. They do. They always. bring it to their stupid ideas about how things need to be governed that make no sense. We'll get into that a little bit later on in the hour. I got some other fun stuff to mix in. Told you about the cash contest keyword coming up. But I want to hear some audio. We've compiled some audio during the show, things that have happened in recent days. And I've talked a lot about Zohran Mamdani in this show. And I told you earlier in the show, I watched his speech on election night, so you did not have to. It was so over the top and ridiculous, even more than I expected. But here's some of what he had to say. The conventional wisdom would tell you that I am far from the perfect candidate. I am young, despite my best efforts to grow older. I am Muslim. I am a democratic socialist.
And most damning of all, I refuse to apologize for any of this. They're not hiding it anymore, folks. They're not. Democratic socialism, no border. We had the tenets of that earlier in the program. Jason Gotts in for Dan O'Donnell. National popular vote for presidential elections. No cash bail. Reform in their mind. The justice system. That means let the criminals roam free. You know, they absolutely love the idea of no border. They actually have, they want non-citizen voting. That's part of the Democratic Socialist platform. He's not hiding it anymore, Zohran Mamdani. This is what the party stands for these days. This is not hiding this stuff at all. He's talking about it. Hey, you know what? I'm here. We're going to bring it to you. This is what we've got planned. Now, Zohran Mamdani also had this to say about taxes. Before we hit that in the control room. Remember, in New York, less than 1% of the population pays 40% of the taxes, but that's not good enough for the Democratic Socialists. You have to raise taxes on the top 1% of New Yorkers. New Yorkers who make more than a million dollars a year, and you do that by raising taxes by them 2%. And then you also increase the corporate tax of New York State to match that of New Jersey. So that takes us from about 7.25 to about 11.5%, which is what we see in New Jersey. Okay, so you're using New Jersey as the standard. One of the highest property taxes in the country are in New Jersey. So what Zohran Mamdani has said, it's hard to move, folks. I want to preface it by saying that because if you're born somewhere, you've got your family, a lot of people, myself included. Family's the most important thing. You know, your family, you got roots somewhere. It's hard to pick up and move. But if you don't have roots in New York or you can talk your family into moving, boy, oh boy, moving company that moves to Tennessee, Florida, Texas, any of these states. that are growing like crazy with refugees, real refugees, not people who just run across the border and say, hey, I want free stuff in the United States, but real refugees who are trying to run away from the tax scam in these blue states like Zohran Mamdani wants to bring to New York. See, they really pay tons of taxes. I told you the top 1%, just less than the top 1%, almost 1%, pay 40% of the taxes. And this guy... Wants to raise taxes more? Because he wants free transportation, free public transportation. Why should it be free? If you're riding the public transit, why shouldn't you have to pay something? Why does that need to be free? Free child care. Who in their right mind is going to trust Zohran Mamdani's government employees to raise their kids? I do not co-parent with the government. That's my fault. I don't co-parent with the government. I'm not going to let my kids be raised by government employees. Now, I know there's a lot of good people in the government, but I'm still not trusting you to raise my kids. I see what goes on in a lot of these public schools, sadly. And I've got a lot of friends who are public school teachers. They're good people. I would trust them with my kids. But unfortunately, crazy school boards, crazy administrators, and crazy curriculum has pushed on those kids in a lot of these public schools. Some of the private schools, too.
Same thing with the daycare centers if they're run by the government. Are you kidding me? I'm trusting my kids to Zohran Mamdani's free daycare. No way. Not happening. Now, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez though, she's on the front line. She was at the victory party talking about this stuff. But one guy she embraced was a guy by the name of Hasan Piker. He's a young... YouTuber, TikTok guy. He makes Nancy Pelosi look like a conservative. That's how off the charts this guy is. Hassan's hugging Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and then Hassan went on TV and had this to say. What do you think it means that this guy ran as a socialist and anti-communism didn't work to stop him? That's good. Yeah, I think we are in the heart of the Imperial Corps. This is the country that defeated the USSR, unfortunately. Do you hear what that guy just said? I know it was faint. It was one of those YouTube interviews. This is the country, the United States, that defeated the USSR, unfortunately. This guy wants the USSR in the United States America. And look, you can dismiss him as some kind of crank, lunatic, Hasan Piker, but he's got a lot of followers. There's a lot of people who agree with this guy. And one thing the conservatives have not done, and part of the problem is also the media. I mean, on conservative radio, you hear it. Conservative writers will certainly bring it to the table. Conservative broadcasters will talk about it. But in the mainstream, and again, Nazism was a nightmare. Thank goodness it is gone. But in reality, there has been no active Nazi party in the world since 1945, thankfully. I know he had George Lincoln Rockwell, he was a goofball running a so-called Nazi party in like the 60s, and they changed it to some white supremacist party. He was a nut job, a bad guy. It went nowhere, absolutely nowhere, thankfully. But there's been no, they marched through Skokie in the 70s and everybody heckled them. But these are fringe lunatics who have, they really have no place in American politics. Thankfully, people don't. give them that opportunity. They want to have a place, but people don't give them the opportunity. But on the other side of this, communism, which has resulted in the deaths of tens of millions of people, somehow is not bought of in the same way Naziism is. They're both evil, despicable. ideas that should be in the dustbin of history. But we've got a guy here who's popular, this Hasan Piker, who just told you, unfortunately the U.S. won the Cold War and beat the USSR. He wanted Soviet-style communism in this guy. He thinks it's unfortunate that we don't have Soviet-style communism in the United States, where you live in a one-bedroom apartment that's falling apart that was built by the government. You're waiting breadlines for your food. You drive some reject car. The airplanes are constantly falling out of the sky. You heard about Tupilovs all over the years. Always have... having problems in Russia. I mean, the elites live great. In these communist countries, that's the one secret. The elites like the AOCs and the Hasan Piker and the Zohran Mamdani's, oh, they'll have everything. They will have, they will be fed well. They will have nice places to live. The rest of us?
That they think of as, oh, the people who aren't as smart as them, the people who aren't as worthy of these things, oh, you'll be eating dog food in your one-bedroom apartment where the rats are coming out of the cabinet, and maybe you'll want to cook up the rat for dinner because you've got no other food. That's what a communist system does. And somehow in this country, the mainstream media, oh, cool. the communist you know not the right people have tried this socialism is different things they're basically one in the same they really are and you have people that actually believe that Now the Cold War was won by the wrong people. And they're celebrating when Zohran Mamdani on election night. Scary stuff, folks. Be careful what you wish for when you say you want, you think Zohran Mamdani's going to fall on his face. The Soviets found their face and people still want to bring it to the United States. Upset that they didn't win the Cold War. Now, thankfully, we had President Trump speak on Zohran Mamdani. He had this to say about Marxist Zohran Mamdani from New York. I'm so torn because I would like to see the new mayor do well because I love New York. I really love New York. When I left New York for Washington, New York was doing really well, but there were some bad signs. The bad sign was a guy named de Blasio. So the signs of de Blasio, that was the beginning and it was bad. This one we're going to look. For a thousand years, communism has not worked. Communism or the concept of communism has not worked. I tend to doubt it's going to work this time. Did you see his victory speech? It's literally never worked. Yeah, I thought it was a very angry speech. Certainly angry toward me. And I think he should be very nice to me. You know, I'm the one that sort of has to approve a lot of things coming to him. So he's off to a bad start. Good. At least we have President Trump to stand up to this little commie in New York. I mean, seriously. The president, communism has the ideals of communism. Obviously, communism has been around since the 1800s with Karl Marx, but the ideas of communism do go back before that. It was just framed in a different way. But he's right. And. The one thing that these people never get is that nothing is free in this world. They, you know, when we had the stimulus, remember the, they gave away the COVID money in 2021 when they didn't need to. They gave them the COVID money in 2020. They kind of had to be because they shut down the country. That's a different topic for a different show, whether I agreed with that or not. I didn't agree with shutting down the country, but they did it. You couldn't have people not have any money coming in when you. told them they couldn't work but in 2021 people were back to work they ran a printing press they gave away free money and yet people say oh my goodness this is so great they gave me they gave me 1200 bucks to government and you know what i said when i had conversations with people on the other i have a lot of friends on the other side i said you know what enjoy that money and enjoy when prices skyrocket because when the government runs a printing press which they were doing
You put too much money into the money supply and therefore prices are going to go up because there's too much money. The value of money has been diluted. So nothing is free. Whether you dilute the money like they did in 2021 and prices, we saw skyrocketing inflation late in 2021 into 2022, 2022, 2023 and 2024, now it's come down again. But whether you take money. from people who have achieved or have money and give it to other people, transfer payments, or transferring it to public transportation or whatever. None of this is free. People, oh, I get free health care from the government. No, you're not getting anything free. Somebody's paying for it. People don't do stuff for free unless they're doing volunteer work. And you couldn't run the country on volunteer work. I love our volunteers. It's a very noble thing to do. I've done volunteer work. I've a lot of, I've done volunteer work. I've a lot of friends, family who do it, but you can't run the country on volunteer work. There has to be an incentive. to go to work every day. And that incentive is money. It's the profit motive. The idea that, oh, well, I should get it free. Well, no, somebody's working to bring that to you free. And that's why this stuff always fails, and it's going to fail again. And that's why President Trump mentioned communism is a total failure. But again, it's a scary thing going on right now with what is being pushed in New York. I know we talked about that earlier in the show, but I wanted to actually hear what Zohran Mamdani had to say, hear what President Trump had to say about Zohran Mamdani, and hopefully he's going to be the backstop to what goes on in New York. And we'll see, because how much is this stuff is going to spread to other parts of the country? The Democratic Socialists now have grand plans. I think they're going to try and advance this, obviously. We'll see how far it goes. This is Jason Gotts in for Dan O'Donnell. This is News Talk 1130 WISN, 1310 WIBA in Madison. Lots more to do this hour. I'm going to get to right after the break. We're going to do the Fall Fortune Cash Contest. And I've got this. I know I've been teasing it a lot. this pet story. We're going to talk about that also. Some good news out of Homeland Security. Some good news. We're going to share that a little bit later on in the program. You want to find me on Twitter at Jason Gotch, G-O-C-H on that last name spelling. That's my Twitter slash X handle. We're going to do right now. We're going to go ahead and we're going to take a time out right now that we're going to come back to do the cash contest and lots of other stuff right after this. Right around the corner, really love this time of the year because the holidays are about to be here. Just had the Halloween season. That's always fun with the kiddos, seeing the houses decorated. People really get into the Halloween decorations now. They almost decorate their houses like it's Christmas. I had a few decorations up, but it's really picked up from when I was a kid. People may put a pumpkin on the porch, but now they have all these decorations. We've got a few of them too, but it's nice to see Ollie this time of year. It's getting cold. Days are shorter, especially with daylight. So that's always a little bit of an issue, too. I don't like when it's dark outside, but I don't think anybody really likes that. It's just the way it has to be, of course, because it's winners coming up. But some things to look forward to here as we approach the end of the calendar year. And most importantly, right now, the end of the work week. But how about this? This would be a nice way to...
close the work week or get towards the end of it, win the fall fortune cash contest in the 5 o'clock hour. The nationwide keyword this hour in the fall fortune cash contest is Bills. You have until 55 minutes past the hour or 5.55 central time to go to newstalk 1130.com or WIBA.com and enter the word bills to enter the contest for this hour. So good luck to everybody out there. Again, the keyword is bills. Hope you win yourself some money. Now, before we get to this one story I've been teasing, the pet story, I do want you to hear President Trump also and Speaker Johnson today some... breaking reaction regarding the news that Nancy Pelosi has retired. The nicest thing, again, I mentioned it last hour that I could say about Nancy Pelosi. I wish I could pick stocks as well as her. That's about the nicest thing I could say about her. But let's see what President Trump had to say about Nancy Pelosi. Before we do, remember, Nancy Pelosi said that Trump was the worst person on earth in an interview on CNN earlier this week. Here's the president's reaction. He tells me the following, and this is a quote. about this breaking news that Nancy Pelosi will chat chatted with President Trump, about this brach chatted with, chat with President Trump, about this breaking news that Nancy Pelosi will be leaving Washington. He tells me the following, and this is a quote, The retirement of Nancy Pelosi is a great thing for America. She was evil, corrupt. and only focused on bad things for our country. She was rapidly losing control of her party, and it was never coming back. I'm very honored. She impeached me twice and failed miserably twice. Nancy Pelosi is a highly overrated politician. Well said by the president. I mean, if she's going to go bash him on CNN and say he's the worst person in the world, basically everything he said there, yeah, good, good, send her out the door in the way she treated you earlier in the week. She is an overrated politician. What big accomplishment to Nancy Pelosi give us? Obamacare? So you have skyrocketing premiums every year if you're on the exchange? Higher taxes? I mean, what's her great accomplishments that Nancy Pelosi is this great stateswoman? Didn't see it that way at all. And yeah, she failed in the impeachment twice. So, yeah, some true words being spoken there by the president. Also, we had Speaker Johnson was more diplomatic when talking about Nancy Pelosi in Congress today. The old guard has been repudiated, and the radicals are taking over the Democratic Party.
We have evidence now every day. Yesterday, Jared Golden announced he would not be running for re-election in the state of Maine. He's a moderate, and he has no place in his party anymore. And then this morning, you saw the headline. Former Speaker Nancy Pelosi has now announced her retirement this morning. That is a very important sign that I hope that you all will delve into. Even the famous San Francisco liberal is not far left enough for the neo-Marxists. We commend her for her services. We all do, everyone who serves in Congress, but there should be a lot written about that. The old guard has been repudiated, and the radicals are taking over the Democratic Party. There you go. So the old guard has been repudiated, according to Speaker Johnson. He thanked her first. It's a polite thing they do in Congress. Johnson's a lot more diplomatic than Trump. But the point being, Nancy Pelosi, bye-bye. He brought up Jared Golden, though. That's why I wanted you to actually hear that one. Because Jared Golden is a representative who represents most of rural Maine. That's a state that has two congressional seats in it. Golden is considered one of the most moderate members of the Democratic Party. And earlier this week, he just said, bye-bye, you know, I don't really have a fit here anymore. Everything's polarized and things are going to the far left is basically what he said to summarize his waving bye-bye to Congress. So, yeah, the writing on the wall now is how far left will the Democratic Party go? And when Nancy Pelosi... steps aside, you know, she's far left. But Jared Golden, I mean, that's one where he's saying, hey, you know what? I don't want to be here anymore because this isn't what I signed up for. And most likely that'll become a Republican seat in 2026. A Republican would at least be favored there. So that's good news for the conservative side of the agenda. We are going to get to more of the political stuff here as far as what goes on. I'm here tomorrow too for Dan O'Donnell, Jason Gotts sitting in. But I do want to get to this is a big picture story here. And this one, I'm a pet person. Anybody who knows me, knows I like pets. We currently have a dog. I've had dogs. I've had a cat. I really do like pets a lot. And when I read this story, of course the Associated Press gives us this story. It's written by someone named Kaylee Wells. I've never heard of her. She's a writer, I guess, for AP. But here's the headline. Pets contribute to greenhouse gases like us. Here's how to reduce their carbon paw print. Oh, so nice. Reduce the paw print. So clever with that headline. And then I look at this and I say, okay, how to enrage Phil and host Jason Gotts today. Connect pets to the mythical idea of global warming. And now all you left us to are listening, I know you're going to be very angry, but I'm going to tell you the truth. God controls the weather. And if you're not a believer, nature controls the weather. But the weather is not controlled by humans. Man-made global warming does not exist. No matter how many professors or mathematical models they throw at you and how many hurricanes they try and blame on you because you had a steak dinner and you drive an SUV, it is not your fault.
The deadliest hurricane in this country was in Galveston, Texas. It was in 1900 before anybody thought about the scam of global warming that brings billions of dollars to people in that industry. But now they're blaming the pets. They didn't just come after you for your SUV. They just didn't come after you for your big house. They didn't come after you because you want to go on a cross-country flight and that adds to your carbon footprint or drive the big car across the country. The fact that you use a gas lawnmower like I do. You're part of the problem. Use a gas-powered snow thrower like I do. You're part of the problem. No, now they've got to come after the pets. Here's part of the story. One of the most climate-intensive decisions we make is whether to own a pet. It's for the same reason that humans make a big impact. They eat every day and most of them eat meat. The environmental impact of meat includes the land the animal lived on, the food it ate, the waste it generated and other factors. What else do pets do? We have to feed them. I think that's why it's number one, said Allison Rezer, Director of Sustainability and Innovation at the Pets Sustainability Coalition. Then his story talks about eating the type of food that pets eat these days. There isn't much evidence that suggests refrigerated, fresh, or human-grade food leads to better pet health outcomes. According to Allison Manchester, a clinical sciences professor at Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine. I think a lot of it is playing on marketing and treating pets as members of the family. It talks about how kibble... is made of animal parts and it's not palatable to humans and otherwise might have been wasted. And that's how it's traditionally part of the pet diet and also that with canned food. It can be part of the pet diet and be okay. And then Billy Nicholas chimes in. Pet food researcher with Bryant Research says the trend of using human-grade meat and pet food increases its climate impact because pets just aren't eating animal parts that would have been otherwise. Gone unused. We definitely can't dismiss these impacts altogether by just saying these are off cuts. These are environmentally negligible. They talk in here about how, oh, this one will get you. Feeding dogs and cats in the U.S. accounts for more than a quarter of the environmental impact from meat consumption. The pollution created from the meat that dogs and cats consume in the U.S. is equivalent to the pollution created from driving 13.6 million cars for a year. And the story goes on and on. And then it talks about weight problems with dogs. I understand you want to balance the diet there, but they say the brands that focus on sustainability and pet food might have labels that show they are climate neutral certified.
that they're regenerative organic certified or they're even certified by a B Corp, whatever that is. I'm going to make sure when I go buy my pet food, not after the show next week, I think I've got to go buy pet food, that it is not climate certified. I do not need the climate change crazies trying to shame me for owning a pet, trying to shame you for owning a pet, trying to blame pet owners. for the mythical theory of climate change and trying to think that we're the problem that the earth is getting warmer by the year in their minds. Although that stuff, even when you look at the graph, it's how they... How they measure that, were they measure that, when they measure it? Is it just part of a natural evolutionary cycle of the planet? I mean, we have had hot times in the history of the planet before humans game. We've had some cold times, too. In the 70s, they try and sell us an ice age. Now they're trying to sell us global warming. Then it becomes climate change. And they're saying, we have to be responsible with how many pets we own, how we feed the pets, that the pets can cause the climate impact of almost 14 million cars. I mean, give it a restaurant. are you kidding me we're going to sit here and worry about pets causing climate change and then you know what the sad part of this is too here's the real sad part of this they don't say it in the article but you know there's going to be some wackos out there some lunatics on the global warming left the climate change left that are going to read an article like this and we're like oh can't go to the shelter and adopt that pet because Better that they put that pet down and that pet over 10, 15 years contributes to global warming. We have to talk about environmental sustainability when there's nothing that pet can do to change the weather. God controls the weather. If you're not a believer, Mother Nature controls the weather. It's that simple. It's not the pets. But again, they first they try and shame you for the big car. Then they try and shame you. You like beef. Oh, that's too many cattle because cow farts create global warming problems or climate change problems. They try and shame you. Now they tug at your heartstrings and you didn't listen to them. You're like me. I've got an old 1990 Toro snowblower my father bought me years ago used. You turn the thing on after you gas it up. It's 35 years old. You can see the smoke coming out of it for an hour and a half and you don't care because you know what it does? It's cost effective. I put gas in the thing and I clear my driveway when it snows. I don't care about the global warming crowd. I don't care about the climate change crowd. People like me aren't going to be shamed into that. But there are a lot of other people out there that will be shamed into that. that we'll be saying, oh, well, you know, we have to environmental responsibility. Oh, we have to do all that kind of nonsense. And look, I'm someone who actually cares about the environment. I do. I recycle my garbage. I never pollute. I never let's one of my pet peeves when you're driving on the interstate or the regular road. Somebody throws a McDonald's bag out or the cigarette butt out. It's ridiculous. I'm not saying to doing anything like that. But let's be real. The idea that humans control the weather is insane.
When you think about it, they can put all the mathematical models out there that they want. What it comes down to is it's become big business and a lot of money. How many billions of dollars have we spent over the last 20 or 30 years focusing on global warming? In the 70s, it was global cooling, then it became global warming, and now climate change. And you've got a lot of people connected to that industry who make a lot of money. So they have to continually push this. What it is, in my opinion, is a hoax on the American people. The good people, the state of Wisconsin. But when they come after the pets, you're filling host, Jason Gottcher, Dan O'Donnell. That's the line in the sand you can't cross. You can't go after the pets. And obviously, they want you to change your pattern of how you feed your pet or how you think about adopting a pet and all those kind of things. And to me, that just does not make any sense. Again, Jason Gottcher, Dan O'Donnell, News Talk 1130 WISN. 1310 WIBA in Madison, still up this hour. We're going to talk a little bit when we come back. I'll take a quick break. One news story to me that it was such a surprise that really didn't make an impact, but on second thought, it makes perfect sense. We'll talk about that right after this. I'm with you tomorrow as well. Look forward to being with you to close out the work week. One story that we have not gotten to yet, and I mentioned it right before the break, that really... surprised me when I first read it, then I thought about it for about a half hour. So I said, wait a second, why am I surprised? I'm actually not. It's almost like a family dynamic when falling out happens. Former Vice President Dick Cheney. He passed away earlier this week back on Tuesday. He was 84 years old, and Dick Cheney was one of the architects of President George W. Bush's administration. I mean, he was a very involved vice president, whether you like Dick Cheney, whether you didn't like Dick Cheney, whether you soured on the Iraq War as a conservative. You were probably on board with the Bush administration when it was happening. I certainly was. I voted for George W. Bush twice. I was very eager to vote for him, especially in 2000 and 2004. El Gore and John Kerry were not an option. I was thrilled when Bush won both times. I was a fan of Vice President Cheney at the time looking back. The Iraq war to me was a mistake, especially the way... It evolved in the years ahead and what happened in Iraq. A lot of destabilizing things happened there. I think that whole situation had been handled in a better way. But at the time in defense of what Bush and Cheney pursued there, I mean, you were talking a couple of years after 9-11. Our intelligence agencies, I don't think Bush lied and people died. I think the intelligence agencies either got the weapons of mass destruction wrong or...
What happened was those things were moved somewhere. So I don't think this was a big conspiracy by Bush and Cheney to try and deceive the American people and build up a war machine. I think it was we don't want another 9-11 to happen. We think these people have some bad stuff in Iraq and we've got to go in and finish the job. Now, in retrospect, did they need to do that? Probably not. But it's hard to second guess at the time, especially after something nobody could have ever envisioned happening 9-11 and... How horrific that was you, certainly if you were running a government at the time, the U.S. government, you did not want that to happen again. But when Dick Cheney passed away, it was almost a non-story. Did you find that interesting? I certainly did that. It really wasn't covered much. I know you had Virginia and New Jersey with their elections, the New York City mayor election, but that wasn't a midterm. That wasn't a nationwide election. A lot of people out there, unless you were to politics, maybe you didn't really care that much. It wasn't like the Georgia Public Utility Commission seat that 19% of the people in Georgia. turned out for. The Democrats are celebrating. They took a couple seats from the Republicans. Nobody even knew that was happening. Even in Georgia, if only 19% of the people turned out, this wasn't a presidential or midterm year election. So I was surprised it didn't get more coverage. But then, after thinking about it, I'm not that surprised. Because... Vice President Cheney was never going to be loved by the left. Look, he was the... You think they didn't like Bush? President Bush? They hated Dick Cheney. They thought he was the mastermind. They thought Bush was just a buffoon who was the front man for Cheney. But then... His daughter, Liz Cheney, turned very anti-Trump at the end of the Trump first term and into Trump being a private citizen. And the Biden administration, she was one of the January 6th committee members. She was very anti-Trump. And Dick Cheney in 2022, when his daughter was running for reelection in Wyoming as the U.S. rep for the whole state because they only got one, three electoral votes in Wyoming, one U.S. rep. Cheney was in an advertisement on her YouTube channel, Dick Cheney was. And he said, in our nation's 246 year history, there has never been an individual who is a greater threat to our republic than Donald Trump. He is a coward. A real man wouldn't lie to his supporters. He lost his election and he lost big. I know it. He knows it. And deep down, I think most Republicans know it. No, I don't think that's true. And I'm not a machine guy for the election being rigged. But I am very suspicious that all those unregulated mail-in ballots were added to the hopper in a lot of swing states. That, oh, they didn't have the signature verification. They didn't have the ballot secure you had in previous elections. Now, do I know that there was definitely fraud? Am I 100? Do I have the evidence? No, but circumstantial evidence tells me there was something to look into. So I think there was nothing wrong with President Trump questioning election results. Heck, Dick Cheney, when he won the second term, and even in the first term, the Al Gore campaign questioning his results, and then winning results. And they had John Kerry questioning whether Bush won in 2024. All the far leftists said that the voting machines were rigged in favor of Bush.
So there are people questioned his elections. Trump has the right to question the election 2020 with all those mail and ballots. But I think what happened here, why there wasn't more celebration of Dick Cheney's life is the left hated him and the right started to hate him too. To be honest, a lot of the Republican Party have come around to Donald Trump. And what I do not get, I get the media people, a lot of grifters in the media turn anti-Trump, you get a lot of money from the leftists. You say dumb things. The left throws you money. I don't understand elected officials like Cheney and other people in the Republican Party. You claim you wanted tax cuts. Trump has given you tax cuts in two straight terms. You claim you wanted a strong border. You might have wanted a worker program for immigrants, but you wanted a strong border. Donald Trump's given you a strong border. Roe versus White has always been huge in the Republican Party. Donald Trump appointed justices, conservative justices that overturned Roe versus White, and also favored rulings in a lot of those rulings for limited government, which claim you wanted. You wanted conservative justices. You got it from Donald Trump. There's a million other things we could list. But so many people on the right elected officials or people who are no longer in the government don't like that Trump tweets mean things or truths mean things. Big deal. Substance over symbolism. Very important. Remember, the substance of what Trump's doing is exactly what Dick Cheney claimed he wanted when he was vice president or close to it. And that's why I think many people on the right did not celebrate Cheney's vice presidency or his political career when he passed away. They've turned away from Dick Cheney. They saw him as a guy who turned away from the Republican values that Trump has brought to the table in both his terms. That's what I think they saw. And that's why we didn't hear more about Dick Cheney. God rest his soul. Sorry for his family, condolences. But unfortunately at the end, I think he was on the wrong side of the political equation. And I think, unfortunately, for him, he didn't see all the good President Trump was doing. We'll be back. Me, Jason Gotch, in for Dan O'Donnell. We'll wrap it up right after this. We will be with you tomorrow as well. Great job by producer Eric today, making me sound good, helping me out with all the audio and everything going on on the program. Ray writes the show listening online. I drive everywhere on vacation. I want the government to stay closed. And even if I didn't, I want the government to stay closed. So there you go. There's a lot of people I think feel that way. I really do. There's a lot of people who say, hey, this doesn't affect me. And they're not trying to be mean to be like Ray writing the show here. What they say is the country is 37, 38 trillion in debt and counting. And what needs to happen is there needs to be spending reined in. We cannot keep spending like this. It's going to eventually catch up to you. It's like you get the credit card, the no-interest credit card. They give you a $10,000 limit. Oh, that's great. I'm going to charge it to the max. Oh, eight months later, I got to pay that whole bill off at 30% interest. Uh-oh, problems.
Financial issues, things hit you real fast. And when you think about this country and the debt we are in, somebody has to pay for that. The old theory, nothing is free. Zohran Mamdani wants to promise you free stuff. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez wants to promise you free stuff. They are going to give you free stuff. It's going to, free stuff appeals to people. They advertise when you go to the local, hey, come in, buy one, get one free. Well, you're getting it free, obviously, but somebody had to make that second product. The store is eating the cost to get you in the store. It's the way it works. It's understandable that in business, you would try and incentivize people to come in your store by giving stuff away for free. In government, it doesn't work that way because eventually the government goes broke. Somebody has to pay this off. And the full faith and credit of the United States government. At some point, maybe people won't trust that full faith in credit if the debt keeps growing. So you can understand people like Ray who write the show, they're not being mean. All they want to do is have accountability and financial accountability in the government. Great show for our listeners, say having you aboard. Great to have you with me. It's been an honor to be with you. Jason Gotts, in for Dan O'Donnell, News Talk, 1130WISN, 1310 WIBA. I will talk to you tomorrow, everybody.
