Hey, good morning. Welcome to Wednesday, January, the 7th year of our Lord. 2026. It is eight minutes after the hour. President Trump says Venezuela is turning over 30 to 50 million barrels of oil.
The money will be used to support the Venezuelan people, as well as reimburse the American people. The Trump administration planning to freeze over $10 billion in social service funding to five Democrat-led states. And as for the one that got caught in the scandal, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz says he has no plans of resigning before the end of his term. Department of Justice is reviewing over 2 million documents in connection with the convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein's legal cases. And Nick Reiner has reportedly been taken off of suicide watch and he will face arraignment and newly released transcripts show the gunman in the Brown University deadly shooting has confessed in video. There were reports. of him saying a la Akbar before some of the shootings in this video, and he's in and out of Portuguese, speaking Portuguese, he admits to doing it. He admits to having planned it for years. And when I say years, about, what was it, read six semesters, seven semesters. So not many years, just barely years, two years or six semesters, a year and a half, two years. So there's your motive or your premeditation. Motive he wouldn't give any. There are the reports of the Allah Akbar. Perhaps the motive is Islamist. I don't know. But he has confessed to the killings. And Michael Reagan is one of five of President Reagan's children. This was with the first wife. I often used Michael Reagan in analogies. The power of being first. The power of being unique. But uniqueness that leads to a first is very powerful. And one of the analogies I often use is, who was the first to fly across the Atlantic? Everybody said Lindberg. And then I go, wow, who was the second? Crickets. Terb, term. And I go, I get it. I don't know either. Who is the third, you think? And everybody again, crickets thinks they don't know, but they do. Amelia Earhart. And only because she was the first woman. There's a power in being first. Rush Limbaugh was the first in the field of talk radio to A, be entertaining, period. To do strictly political talk. I mean, you've got to understand talk radio at that time. You would have a psychiatrist. Trying to remember what her name was. Dr. Joyce. Dr. Joyce something. Dr. Joyce Brothers. Was it brothers? Yeah. Yeah, Dr. Joyce Brothers was big. You had the financial with Bruce Williams. Bruce did everything financial. Not nearly with the pizance of Dave Ramsey. But everybody was kind of in a field. Not many were doing, I would think Michael Jackson would be one of the early to do political talk. And that doesn't even speak to locally, where everything was city council or swap shops. And then here comes Rush Limbaugh on the national stage doing political talk that's fun, funny, and influential. Well, that's the first.
Also, first for a conservative to not sound like William Buckley and be out there and fun and entertaining. That's the first. But the analogy I use often is, listen. I used to listen back then. Michael Reagan was better. Michael Reagan, who was that? They always confuse him with the other Reagan children. Oh, no, in his first marriage, he had a very smart conservative syndicated talk show host son. The problem was, in many cases, he sounded so much like Rush. It took you a second to realize which one you were listening to. Now, why is Rush Limbaugh a household name, and Michael Reagan is not? Because Rush Limbaugh was first. But Michael Reagan, boy, he was good. We find out from his family, he passed away. It doesn't give me the age. But I'm thinking Michael Reagan had to be in his 80s, right? Or late 70s? I believe he was 80. Yeah, right around 80. Son of former president, Ronald Reagan, died surrounded by his family Sunday in Los Angeles. He was 80 years old. Yeah, that's what I thought. 19 years older than me. Michael Reagan was one of five children that Ronald Reagan had a very successful conservative political commentator and nationally syndicated talk show host. So that's just some of the just kind of blah coming at you. Of all the big things, Red, feel free with your cheap microphone to disagree. I think the two biggest things that struck me today, and it just could be because it's fresh. A year after. the Los Angeles area devastating wildfires that destroyed thousands of homes. Now, as I was reading that the first time, I'm thinking about Nalans post-Katrina. Because I know I could call Southwest Airlines today, go and see my brother, and there'll be some house on his street that still hasn't rebuilt. The last time I was there... The guy across the street was just getting started. And the guy right, and these are expensive homes. And the guy right next door, boarded up, still hasn't started. I mean, what? And Katrina, I don't have to tell you, it was 20 years ago. But just freshly to lay it out there. One year after the wildfires destroyed thousands of homes in Los Angeles, fewer than 12 have been rebuilt.
And what goes through your mind? Well, who would rebuild? That's what happened in New Orleans. In New Orleans, they just left. I suspect that's part of the problem in Los Angeles. And then there's zoning issues and local government issues. Whatever happened to like, you know, we used to, this is a sore spot for me, we do nothing that leads to calamity. And then our way of processing calamity that we allowed to happen, we just tell ourselves we're Los Angeles strong and put it on Facebook and put it on TV. They're not even doing that. They're just not rebuilding it. Nobody's talking about it. Nobody's certainly to protect Gavin Newsom or the mayor there wanting anybody to even know. I mean, that's really pathetic, less than a dozen in a year. Kevin Gavin Newsom's made it a primary concern of his. Can you imagine him being president and having to deal with a national catastrophe? Well, I don't feel as confident. So I love that story. The other one, and this is one I would say, you know, me, I don't have a problem being honest and transparent and humble. This angle never even crossed my mind. And it's one of the biggest. And that is with everything that happened in Venezuela. The discrediting and the humiliating of Vladimir Putin. Now, I don't know why they're not extending that story today to China as well. China buys the most oil from Venezuela. Cuba is preparing for devastation. I also think they probably have in the back of their mind, this guy is acting like a 1950s president, 1940s president. We may be next. Dominoes are falling. But they get a lot of their oil. They depend on Venezuela for their oil. And 30 to 50 million barrels are coming to the United States to pay back the American people for being wrong and protect the people in Venezuela. I talked a great deal about that yesterday. You are on the road to justice for Maduro. You're nowhere near regime change. And a lot of bad people are still in place. And the biggest victims are the Venezuelan people. And even if you get regime change, then you got to really roll up your sleeves and try to create recovery. They have destroyed the entire economy in that country. And maybe the president is going to stick some of that back. We start getting into polling. And I think that's another big, probably the third biggest story of the day. people's opinions on this whole Venezuelan thing is changing, which is saying something. I don't know if this struck you read, but very rarely in America today, does anybody change your mind? We get immediate, firm positions, and we don't move, no matter what, and we get them prematurely, no matter what facts come forward. But this is flipped. America's view of Venezuela has absolutely flipped in the last few days. Go ahead. People like a winner. Well, there is. Which is why. Can I just end everything in my opening monologue and just go to this? So last night should have been past everyone's bedtime, first and foremost. I need you people rested. I know I only got five and a half hours because my ring told me. And this was, and if I only got five and a half hours, you two probably got less.
Do you want to confess and admit it or, oh, Red does. But Red lives on 20 minutes. Yeah, at a time. So right before I got back at this, you know, the vibrating on the, and so I'm like, well, this could be, you know, I got a mom. I was just in the hospital Tuesday, you know. Be serious. Yes, I mean, but I was just to where I think my heartbeat was down, my temperature at fall. I was about ready to go fawning ony. Yeah. Then I'm like, oh my God. Then I'm thinking, just close your eyes. Just never mind. Could be anything. Check it in the morning. And then, of course, could be mom, eyes wide open. Right. Go and grab the phone. I don't mean to humiliate or embarrass anyone. But it's red wanting, first of all, we knew about John Harbaugh five hours earlier. You could have had that text. Sure. And then he started, then I'm getting another one. Now he's praying. And I'm like. I cannot wait to talk to him in the morning. First of all, stop waking me up. Second of all, what is it about two or more? At least wait for two or more. So I want to chastise you, but at the same time, I would like everyone to agree with me right now. Heavenly Father, we would love John Harbaugh to be our next coach. Amen. Please Lord. Here in Tennessee for the Titans. You know how bad we are. You know how we've traded everything away. You see it all. You know how they have really taken advantage of the Davidson County. residents to pay for this new stadium. We can't embarrass ourselves. You've got a big beautiful home. You can't have ugly kids. Dear Lord, bring us John Harbaugh. We'll take the next 18 seasons if the Ravens are that stupid. Anything but Stefansky in Jesus name you. There. That's how you do it. One of those beeps was Jeffrey. Yeah, but you, you desperately launched into prayer. It shows you. And by the way, can I just throw this out in John Harbaugh's favor? That guy doesn't miss the field goal. Because a priest blessed the field and maloicdom, we might have got Tomlin. Well, that's true. Dear Heavenly Father, can we go back in time and make that field go? I think I'd rather Tomlin. This is your morning show with Michael Del Chono. Hey, Michael and the boys. Not a huge fan of your anti-drumming program yesterday. By the way, my name's Spike, drummer for the legendary band, Lords of the Highway out of Cleveland, Ohio. Have a great day. Actually, I am a drummer. No, we love drums. In fact, you'll often hear me say, I'm just an air drummer in an air guitar world. We were talking about grandkids, and I am no, I don't have mine yet. and don't want them until some suitable husbands appear on the scene. But we were talking about with Jeffrey and others who have grandchildren the magic of that and why it's so different. And part of it is because you can spoil them. You're not responsible for them. The other is I think we're trying to get revenge against our kids, which is why we were suggesting that's why you buy drums for their kids so that they can hear the banging and be up all night. No, we love drums. By the way, Vincent wrote me from...
I believe it's North Carolina or maybe it's Florida. Where are you now, Vincent? I don't remember. He wanted to know if it was Dr. Laura Schlesinger. No, it was Dr. Joy Brown, not Dr. Joyce Brothers. Dr. Joy Brown, who was the famous one early on. Dr. Laura would come a decade later. The great story about Dr. Laura, my friend David Hall, who used to be the program director, KFI. Dr. Laura was a caller to the shows. And he thought she was so good, brought her in, let her do a weekend, then he put her on at nights, and then eventually Dr. Laura becomes one of the most successful syndicated talk show. She's still a delight. We had her on a couple of years ago on the local show, but Dr. Laura would come much later. All right, if you're just waking up, 28 minutes after the hour, the president has announced Venezuela. Now, remember, we got all these question marks, right? Who's running the show there? A lot of bad people. But a lot of bad people with a lot of ships and planes, and they know what they can do. So they have decided to turn over 30 to 50 million barrels of oil. That's a good sign, just like some of the earlier signs that we had yesterday, but were a long way. from regime change, let alone rebuilding Venezuela. But here comes 30 to 50 million barrels. It's funny because we're going to go through the polling information. And, you know, there's a lot of people that are like me and have noticed that our reserves have been depleted and nobody's replenish them. So you're seeing a lot of very smart voters saying those barrels should be used to replenish our reserves. I think the president's idea is to sell that oil, pay back the American people for any wrongs that Venezuela has done towards us and then support that rebuilding if we get regime change for the Venezuelan people. And Tim Walz says he ain't going anywhere. Oh, he is drawing the line in the sand. Dana Perino gave about a 20-second rebuttal to that yesterday that you'll hear in our sounds of the day. I'm Orlando Mathers in Smyrna, Tennessee, and my morning show is your morning show with Michael Del Journal.

If you travel a lot with your dog like I do with Doug, feeding them well on the road can get surprisingly complicated, especially when you're touring 30-plus cities, staying in hotels, flying, driving, and basically living out of a suitcase. Broza dog food sounds great until you realize you don't exactly have a freezer backstage. That's why I started bringing just fresh from just food for dogs. It's real fresh dog food made with human-grade ingredients with meat and vegetables you can see in the bowl. But the difference is... it's shelf stable, which means I don't need a freezer or a cooler and there's no prep. So now I can throw a few packs in my bag and Doug still gets a healthy meal wherever we are. Doug absolutely loves it and I like knowing I am feeding my baby something that's actually good for him. It's also the number one vet recommended fresh dog food made without preservatives or fillers. Go to just food for dogs.com and get 50% off your first order. Amazon Health AI presents. We wanted to honor you, Spike, but a lot of your music struck me a little Bob Larson. He's satanic. Talk back with Bart Larson. I may invite Spike and the entire band loaded the highway into studio with me. We're going to talk about satanic influences in music. Talk back about it. By the way, I just looked up. Dr. Joy Brown passed away. Oh, no. She died at the age of 71, too young in Manhattan. It was Dr. Joy Brown, not Joyce Brothers. Although Dr. Joyce Brothers was on TV, I believe, in the 70s, wasn't she? In 80s? But Dr. Joy Brown, who I was referring to. Oh, and Vincent is in Florida, not North Carolina. There we go. We've resolved everything. You guys are trying hard. And it started with your praying for John Harbaugh last night. I said you're trying to create an ADD Wednesday. I know what you're up to. Hey, if you're just waking up, it is 36 minutes after the hour. Early bird gets the worm. Sleepy squirrel misses a nut. Throw that leg over. We, as you know, we had a death in the family. Our Kurek died. Andrew did everything to revive it. It just wasn't possible. The new Kourg is in use this morning. Eh. You're not a fan? I think my expensive machine that I bought makes a better cup of coffee. But shuffle your way to the kitchen, get a cup of coffee. We're already at the kitchen table this morning. We started without you. So good morning and welcome to Wednesday, January the 7th. President Trump says Venezuela is turning over 30 to 50 million barrels of oil. Now, what to do with that oil? America will debate. Minnesota Governor Tim Walz says he has no plans to leave office before the end of his term. And Nick Reiner, off suicide watch, will be arraigned soon in Los Angeles. All right, we have the latest Rasmussen. What fascinates me about this is that this is, and it's part of the cycle that we're in, but everybody takes an immediate position. I'm trying to remember when Simone Biles, there was two Olympics ago, I think.
And she got the twisties, which means when she's in midair and she's doing flips, her body, and I think it's something in the ears, disorients her. So it's impossible. It's very dangerous. She could land, break her neck. I mean, you just lose all ability in midair of orientation. So she drops out of the Olympics. Immediately back home. There was one of two reactions. From the left, it was she's showing everybody, you know, how to embrace and be bold and transparent about your mental illness. And we applaud her for this. Meanwhile, there was others like, she's quitting on her country. She's quitting on everybody in her family. She's quitting on her teammates. Shoot her. And then it didn't met. And that was before anybody knew why she dropped out. And then even after you find out the medical reasons, she's not mentally ill. It's a disorienting ailment. And it passed and she came back and she did great in the next Olympic. But it doesn't stop us. I guess this is the internet that creates this. So it's unique. And it doesn't happen often. Now, I got to admit, I was at the end of my two-week vacation. And all of a sudden I get where we just wanted to Venezuela and took the president. I mean, like Simone Biles, it took me a minute to get my orientation. Did he really do that? Wait a minute, we went and took them? Okay. You know, and then, of course, my serious thoughts went immediately to Taiwan because I thought, well, I'm loving this. This is how you handle things. I mean, I could play. Reds wanted me to. You know, my thoughts were Michael when that happened? What? Easy show prep. Easy show prep. You lazy thing. No, but I mean, you know, wow. You got to get more information. You got to take your time, take a breath. And when it was all said and done, it didn't take me long before I said, okay, this guy was not elected, refused to leave office, he's a dictator, he's a thug.
And he's a drug lord. He runs a cartel. Short term, this is good for justice. It could lead to something good for the Venezuelan people. And thus, for us in the hemisphere, there's going to be some short-term pain, but a potential long-term liberation. This could be a great thing. Is it now? Well, it is for justice. And that has begun, but we're nowhere near regime change, and we're nowhere near rebuilding Venezuela that they have destroyed with socialism. Do you know what I just described to you? I think the American people are doing and figuring out. Here's the question. On Venezuela, 48%. Now, you've got to understand, 50% like for approval rating is almost impossible now. This is how divided we are as a country on everything. Creaming your coffee? Sugar, sweet and low, everything. Sun will come up tomorrow. We're 50, 50 on everything. So that's a pretty strong number, 48% approve of us seizing these oil tankers. Don't look now. Trump's foreign policy success in Venezuela is beginning to gain traction and people are beginning to understand. Even before the dramatic raid that captured the president and his wife, a plurality of American voters favored President Trump's policies of seizing the oil shipments. He seized the president's dead and got the oil from the new guys. But. Oh, he is beautiful, isn't he? Others talk. I mean, that's what I was getting ready to say before. Red chimed in was how we could play Eclipse. There was one this morning circulating on X that was Corinne Jean-Pierre. And she was going on and on about how upset President Biden was that the Maduro lost the election but was refusing to leave office. And then we could play with the bounty tapes and blah, blah, blah. Others like to talk tough. I always say, I never, and this goes back, and I didn't grow up in, you know, the ghetto, but I lived in a different time. Nobody stopped bullies when I was little. They existed, and you grew up. You didn't say stupid things because someone would punch you in the face if you did. Oh, I'm not talking about, and then you go home and get hit by your parents. I'm talking about immediately. I don't know. I think, I'm sure there was a lot of bullying. I saw some bullying that led to one person who went to school with killing himself. So I'm very anti-bullying. Don't get me wrong. But there's some of the things about my childhood, I think, that don't exist today. And that's why we got a bunch of entitled brats. But I can tell you this. And my brother, who was my protection blanket? My brother was the toughest kid in the entire town. So nobody mess of me simply because I was untouchable. I was his brother. One guy did. Did we ever have Vic come on the show and tell that story when he went to the guy's house? And the mom was so excited that, you know, it looked like he had a friend. I can't remember what his name was. I think was Barry. I don't think we had that story told.
Oh, it was hilarious. And the mom was going, Barry, it's Victor Del Giorno. Come down. I think he wants to play. And the kid's like, I'm not coming down, Mom. He came down, and he paid the price. He's the only one that ever broke that protection. But I think Vic, I think I from observing, I think anybody that lived in tough areas or tough times, you didn't worry about the loudmouths because she always knew they were coming. It was the quiet ones you never knew were coming. That's who would punch your face in before you ever even expected it. And that's Donald Trump. If he's talking about, it's when he's silent that he does the most decisive things. The things he brags and talks about, New Zealand or Panama Canal, he can do nothing there. Stuff he's not talking about, duck. Came back into office, the border, duck. ICE rounding them up. Million self-deporting. That's what you, you know. So here's America now, you know, talking tough for a long time, being taken advantage of for a long time, and then Donald Trump takes decisive action. And 48% of likely voters approve of the U.S. season, these Venezuela and oil tankers, including 29 who strongly approved. These are solid numbers for any issue. 40% disapprove, including 27% who strongly disapprove. How divided is America? 29% strongly approved or 27 strongly disapprove? Or that divided?
The survey was completed last week. Now, this is before the raid that captured Maduro. In defending the earlier seizure of Venezuelan oil tankers, Trump said, you remember, they took all of our energy rights. They took all of our oil not that long ago, and we want it back. 54% of voters agreed with that quote, including 31% who strongly agreed. Several options have been suggested for what the United States should do. with the seized oil. This is interesting. 38% favor adding the oil to the U.S. Strategic Petroleum Reserve. Our reserve has been depleted, and that was to kind of hold down gas prices towards the end of the Biden administration, but it has never been replenished. It's kind of like when things come up and, you know, the president kicks around giving you a little rebate check. And then there's some sensible people in the room. How about you pay down the debt? That's the clear and present danger. Not giving everybody about $1,500. That's pandering. It's interesting that 38% get it on oil as well. We fill that reserve. 21% believe the oil should be sold and the money go to the U.S. Treasury. 20% think the oil should be sold and the money go to compensate U.S. oil companies for the loss of property seized by Venezuela. And 22% are not sure. Donald Trump's planning on doing something I believe somewhere in between. His wording is such that I can't begin to know which. But I think he wants to take some of the money and repay what the American people lost while others, while they did that and others let it happen. And then I think he wants to take a lot of the other money and keep it in a side account. because he knows once they achieve, doesn't want to give it to him now, same underlings of bad guys are in charge. But if they get regime change, he wants to have that money because he knows the bigger challenge even after regime change is rebuilding this destroyed economy. But isn't it interesting? I mean, I guess there was like 43% by the way of Republicans are in favor of adding the oil from the seized Venezuelan tankers to the U.S. petroleum. Reserve, 34% of Democrats, 38% of non-affiliated. So it's pretty spread out. But 82% of Republicans, 34% of Democrats, 47% of unaffiliated voters, at least somewhat agree with the Trump quote. You remember, they took all of our energy rights. They took all of our oil, not long ago, and we want it back. So again, that's the difference between talking tough and then doing something tough. And resolved. That's vintage Donald Trump. But what I think makes this one different is the American people kind of got this across partisan lines before. And as they take in the days and absorb and get past the shock of what was done, they're on board with where this is headed. Or as Red would say, people like a winner. Here they go again. It's your morning show with Michael Deljourno. Here's what you need to know. Minnesota Governor Tim Walz says, okay, I'm not running for reelection, but I have no plans of resigning.
A day after announcing he was ending his bid for a third term, Walls said, I'm not going anywhere. You can make all your requests for me to resign over my dead body. Will that happen? Walls has come under scrutiny over allegations of fraud involving Somali daycares. The federal government has sent a surge of agents to Minnesota in response to the allegations. On Monday, Homeland Security said more than 1,000 arrests have been made since sending the agents to the state last week. I'm Mark Nefew. And that's not all. The Trump administration is planning to freeze over $10 billion in social service funding to five Democrat-led states. Multiple reports say the Department of Health and Human Services will withhold money for child care and other social services in Minnesota, New York, California, Illinois, and Colorado. This comes after allegations of fraud in Minnesota went viral due to a video from conservative influencer Nick Shirley. In a response, the Trump administration announced it would temporarily halt child care funding to all... states until they prove they're being spent legitimately. I'm Jim Rup. Well, what a difference a year makes, right? Last year, all we could talk about was the Epstein files. Now the Department of Justice is reviewing over two million documents in connection with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein's legal case. Chris Coragio has more. Attorney General Pam Bondi and her deputy, Todd Blanche, wrote a letter to a New York judge explaining that over 12,000 documents have been posted to the DOJ Epstein Library in response to the Epstein Files Transparency Act.
