She was also star of another daytime drama. I only watched all my children as we proved last week with Susan Lucci. But obviously who's the boss is what she's most famous for. And today she, what did I say she was? 80, I believe, Judith Light. No, 77. 77. Who was it? She played a hooker. That's what her whole career amounts to. Red came up with a great stat. Do you realize no one has won six Super Bowls but the Patriots, right? They're all alone with six, aren't they? them in Pittsburgh. Oh, the Steelers have won six two? All right, so they're tied for the most Super Bowl wins with six. But last night's loss to the Seahawks makes them all alone as the only NFL franchise to lose six Super Bowls, unlike the Bills who managed to do it all in a row, four. It was all Seahawks. It was a great defensive performance, 29 to 13. That was the Super Bowl. We got two golds over the weekend. I really enjoyed watching the Olympics. I thought the opening ceremony was gorgeous, both locations. And then we got the team gold in figure skating. It was by a kitten's whisker, but we got it. And then Breezy Johnson taken home the gold after the tragic wipeout of Lindsey Vaughn. So a lot of football talk. Best commercials are on everyone's mind. Remember the... The New England Patriots have not won a Super Bowl with any other quarterback, but Tom Brady. And Tom Brady was the payoff in my favorite commercial, because at the end, that's who's with Jennifer Aniston when she says, how do you like instead of apples? She says nuts, but just Dunkin' Donuts. And I think even though I never saw it till the Super Bowl, a lot of you saw it before them, the Anheiser Bush. Kudos to everybody listening in the Lou, Budweiser with the Eagle and Clydesdale. But you guys are chiming in using the talk back on your favorite commercials. We'll continue with those. Chris Walker was thrilled this weekend to become a United States senator and a former governor. when I referred to him as Scott Walker, but it is Chris Walker, a GOP consultant, and also your morning show contributor joining us. Yeah, the Super Bowl, I don't know how super it was, but it wasn't the only thing super in California. They had super taxes too, right? Super taxes. It was, you know, it's a good reminder as we think about Gavin Newsom, you know, planning a run for president here, I should say Congress, and for president here. You know, California taxes athletes for playing in their state, not even for, they don't work there, they don't live there. It's just an exhibition game for people who don't even live in the state, but yet California takes them for six figures, basically for playing a game. It's crazy. Unbelievable.

Just a nice little reminder, you live in a blue state, right? Here comes your tax bill. Let's talk about this. It's amazing to me because, you know, San Donald gets a bonus for like $170,000 to play in the game, right? Or actually $100,000 to play in the game. And, you know, he's going to pay somewhere between $86,000 to pay. Or, you know, or he's going to only be able to get on it. It just is crazy to think about basically his bonus for playing the Super Bowl is going to be eaten by California. So, you know, bummer of a game, but for, you know, the Patriots, but, you know, even more bummer when they get their tax bill at the end of this year. Yeah, that and the irony of. Probably since the 85 Bears, that was one of the more dominant defensive performances I've ever seen. And both defenses were great in the first half. The other one, the Patriots got worn out in the second half. But people, you know, we talk about great events, but we don't really want to see that. We want to see great plays, great scoring. And there wasn't a lot of that. Five field goals will attest to that. Let's talk about this government shutdown standoff. This is political theater, and it looks like it's political theater they're not going to let go of. I can't imagine the left's vision for America is unsecured borders, although every time they're in charge, that's what they provide. What is this really about and can this be solved, or are we about to run out of funding for ICE? Well, you know, unfortunately, I do think it's their game plan. We've seen it for the last 20 years that... Their goal is to increase numbers of potential Democrat voters to try to win at House apportionment, to try to win at the ballot box in these bigger states. to basically try to build a permanent electoral majority towards the Democrats. And let's be honest, it's working to a certain degree. We don't want to think about it that way. But, you know, they are incredibly competitive with some of the worst ideas in the history of our country. And yet because there's such a reliable block of voters that they continue to import, this is what we're continuing to see happen. I think that there is a... We saw it during the Joe Biden administration. I mean, just no, even, they would, they would prosecute, you know, border patrol agents for doing their job. You know, it was absolutely their goal to open up the border and let anyone come in. And that's why Texas and other states were so dramatically impacted by trying to ship, you know, illegals to other states, like in Cal, in New York and other places because there was just, it was an overwhelming number of illegals coming in. So that is their game plan. That is what they want to do. And from the shutdown perspective, it's a win-win for them politically because usually a shutdown impacts the party in power. Well, that's Republicans right now. So they are playing a smart political game. It's, I think, an immoral one. But at least politically, it's something that would make sense for them to continue to go down this track. Yeah, I think this is probably the best way for me to.

To bring it up. I got this email at Michael D at iHeartMedia.com. Again, the corrupt, dishonest mainstream media has again been able to persuade stupid people, or ignorant, probably a more appropriate word. We live in a matrix. We live in two separate simultaneous realities and bubbles. And one side doesn't give the same story. The other side gives. But. Probably ignorance, a better word, but you can say stupid people, that our ICE agents arrest innocent children and citizens, five-year-olds wearing a bunny hat, confront innocent, peaceful protesters and murder them. I mean, these are kind of the, I really bring back to one of the major sticking points, which is the agents wearing masks. Well, that's because these radical anarchist organizations reveal their identity and threaten their families. So it becomes a security issue. I want Americans that care about everybody. These protesters are more anarchists and paid and trained and they're disrupting law enforcement. That's how you end up getting killed. Innocent people aren't just being shot for no reason. How much of this is optic and messaging and narrative over reality? Because if we have honest conversations. Whether you're a D, an R, or an I, if you're an American, you ought to be able to address security and border. Because I think subliminally, what the left is really wanting to take a stance on is you can go ahead and round up any felony criminals you want, but not the felons whose only crime was to break into the country. That seems to be the silent and visible line, isn't it? Yeah, I think so. But to your question, I mean, I think it's reality and it's not just narrative. I mean, this is a, you know, political action here that is trying to, that is trying to shape the country towards the left. And, you know, personally for me, like, and I agree with what your point is on the mask, but I actually do have a problem with federal, with any law enforcement wearing that. I feel like we are not in a society where law enforcement shouldn't be identified and shouldn't be, should be clandestine. That is not. I said it earlier, it's a terrible optic. But I understand why they're doing it. I mean, if I was in law enforcement. Totally agreed. And I had to worry about Andrew and the kids because somebody might identify and print my home address and start targeting it. That's an issue. But if local law enforcement would do their job, it'd be a transaction at the jailhouse, and we wouldn't have need for any of this. Well, the real point here is to prosecute these, you know, these criminal elements that are undermining the safety of our law enforcement. This is making threats is a crime. You know, there is not a, you're not allowed to just threaten a neighbor and, you know, force bodily harm on them. Like, there are rules that we can apply by here. And I think that's something that people should be prosecuted and activists in the law. So how does this? You know, we've seen the stories about the signal chats in Minnesota that I think those, those folks should actually be criminal, you know. No, I'm prosecuted. That's a way to really kind of make that start to happen. Because ultimately, living in fear in a city like Minneapolis.

is not good for the, I would say, even the majority of people in Minneapolis who don't agree with what's happening. So, you know, that's, DZ said it's a, it's a Minneapolis. issue that doesn't play the same across the country. The polls would suggest the same. You're looking at a vast majority of Americans that think everybody who came into this country illegally did nothing else after should still be deported. For those that have committed other felonies after the felony of entering in the country illegal, now you're looking at 96% think they should be deported. And you say prosecuted. Some of them have been. and then released. So it's not really a winnable hill for the left in the view of all of America. So is this really? How does this play out for them? And now if we add to that, closing of the government partially, meaning cutting off all funding for border enforcement, how does that play out for them long term? I mean, I would like to say, I think it plays out poorly, but I'm not sure I see that right now. I think the political reality is this will probably lead to, you know, the President Trump and the Republicans and Carters who are in charge getting blamed. And we'll kind of strengthen the Democrats' hands as we had into a midterm where it's looking like they're going to be in a strong position. So, you know, the polling and everything else that you see, particularly with the trends in midterm elections, everything else, is looking tougher for Republicans to keep the House. And now, you know, any smart Senate observers is looking at the Senate being potentially at risk. That is a real reality that I think that Democrats are playing a cynical political game, but I think it is working. It's up to Republicans then to counter with massive voter registration efforts and realizing the situation and how hard it is. But unfortunately, we've seen from Republicans overall that they will vote for President Trump, but don't come out in the same numbers in the midterm. And so we have a problem here. That's something's got to be addressed and it's got to be shared with everyone. We are, it is not time to rest. It's time to get active because we've got a huge election in a few months. And so far, Republicans have not really galvanized towards any, towards any issue because they think that electing President Trump is, is kind of the end of the game. It's just the beginning. You know, I always bring up the shadow campaign to save the democracy. It was a Time magazine manifesto in, I think it was a February 15th, Time magazine, 2021. And it's basically the left telling you how they stole the election. And they stole it. in their mind because they had to to save the democracy. And they weaponized COVID, changed election laws, got away with it, going through legislatures without the states watching over it. And then they controlled the narrative through the media and then silenced any opposition by controlling social media. And we said, well, that didn't work in 2024 because X was taken over by Elon Musk. And the media could simply no longer control the narratives between talk, radio, and podcasting.

But I'm beginning to wonder if they're not still controlling narratives in real time, especially on this issue. I think that's exactly right. And we have a... that we have a media problem, you know, that hasn't gone away. And frankly, I would argue that, you know, talk radio notwithstanding, you know, talk radio has been a leader in this for decades. But I think a lot of people are starting to not understand that most people don't listen to conservative podcasts. Most people don't listen to kind of the Twitter echo chamber. And so I think conservatives are going to wake up and be surprised. to see that not everyone is agreeing with their position on things is why we've got to talk to other people, we've got to listen to other people because right now we've got a very bifurcated media landscape here where people are not getting the same news, but yet the majority of the news is still kind of being generated through the mainstream media. Now, what we saw at the Washington Post last week is mainstream media eating itself alive, which is a positive. But at the same token, people are still getting their news from a lot of places that, you know, conservatives don't even hear. And I think we have to be vigilant and aware of that and make sure that we're evangelizing and, you know, kind of sharing our story and why our ideas are better to those family and friends and neighbors who are on the left sides and to, like, kind of convince them to come to the right side. Because, you know, listening to a podcast is not enough. We've got to actually talk to people about it. Yeah. And they're not wealthy if there are TSA folks. They're allowing us to fly safe here in America. And that's part of that conversation now, too. And now, me, as a Democrat, I do not believe that it's unreasonable or to show ID just to vote. And I remind everybody that less than a year ago in Wisconsin, you know, they added that to the Constitution by 63%. you know, passing to put that in the Constitution that you have to show ID to vote. And they also elected a very, very liberal justice into their Supreme Court. So it's not a radical idea for regular Americans to show your ID to vote. And it's absolutely those things are not. I thought it was interesting. He didn't tie it together. Try to go through TSA at the airport without showing an ID and get anywhere. That was an obvious way to tie both of those stories together. Listen, we have a two-party stranglehold and it creates nothing but distraction and divide. You add to that a one-party media that creates confusion and mistrust. And then people's overwhelming obsession and focus on the presidency while the real powerful elite are in Congress. And it's pretty simple to get lost in all of this. As I always say, I could fix this country really with four steps. Three primarily. One, a zero-based, prioritized balanced budget. Make it law. No continuing resolutions. It wouldn't be in this mess because there'd be no such thing. And one budget that lasts for two years. In line with the term of Congress. Second, a flat or fair tax. Everyone has skin in the game. It's simple. Term limits. That will bust up how we have career politicians who stay till a tow tag and bed with special interest groups. And the only one they're not serving is the people. And the only ones getting wealthy and secure are supposedly your public servants. And the number four on my list is only paper in person voting, period, end of story. Now, I would also return the U.S. Senate to the states for appointment. That's the way it used to be. And their focus should be the rights of the states, not a club of 100 that really governs the country. And as far as getting out of debt, you could divide it up among the total taxpaying families and send them a bill just like their mortgage. And by paying that, and it may be one of their larger bills, and won't anybody rack up the charges in the future. But now we have nothing but political narrative in a matrix and political theater. And we don't have statesmen. We have career politicians. It's a mess. But yes, you got to look for a tiny silver lining in order to gain some kind of sanity. And I would find it in John Fetterman. And I'd also find it in Bill Maher. And I never thought I'd say that.

Here's Bill Maher from over the weekend. Now, let me tell you about the story that liberal algorithms locked out. Her name is Cia Weaver. And if you ask anyone in the blue sky bubble, who that is, to look at you like a turkey looking up at the rain. But she's kind of important in New York, being Major Zohran Mamdani's chief of the office to protect tenants, and since Zohran Mamdani's big issue is the rent's too damn high, yes, he stole this guy's act. It's a very key appointment in the most important city in the country, which is also our financial center. It matters that the mayor stands by, and so I assume stands with, someone who says things like, if you don't believe in the government's sacred right to seize private property, it's over. Seize private property. Home ownership is racist. Elect more communists. Private property, especially home ownership, is a weapon of white supremacy. Really? Even among the 20 million black Americans who own their own home? I mean, there is such, look, 25 years ago on radio, I would talk about the Democrat Party platform matching the Socialist Party of 1920s platform. We're beyond that.

That's why you get so many of these hypocrisy videos. I could play you Joe Biden. I could play you Bill Clinton. I could play you Hillary Clinton on deportations. This party has moved so far left, taking a portion of America with it to the left, that now we are the divided states of America. Now, you either solve these divisions. Or eventually, you face another civil war. It's a cold civil war right now. Now, the game they played was they stopped calling us a republic and made us a democracy something we're not. We stopped correcting them. Then suddenly democracy had a soul. And that's what Joe Biden was fighting for. Joe Biden was fighting for the soul of the democracy. And then what we found was the democracy became the Democrat Party platform. And anyone that opposes it or one of their candidates. is an insurrectionist and an enemy of the state. This is a dangerous place we find ourselves. In our time and for all time. I love watching Jake Tapper have it handed to him, but he got terminated by Arnold Schwarzenegger. And this has to do with gerrymandering, which. One of the big stories from last week was the Supreme Court siding with Jerry Maddering. In other words, it used to be, you know, it's always happened. It used to be frowned upon, especially when done for political advantage and an outcome of elections. But to turn a blind eye and say it's not wrong anymore and cheer on California blatantly doing it.

had this to say. Do you believe that the Republican Party is starting this? The Republican Party started this. This is as old as the school ground, right? The Republicans started it, now the Democrats in California are finishing. Watch Arnold's response. Oh, Jake. There has been gerrymandering going on for 200 years. There is such extreme cherrymandering going on that in a state like Massachusetts, it has like 40% of the people voting for Trump. They only have zero representative. The Republican Party has zero representatives sent to the House. Think about that. In New Mexico, 45% of the people voted for Trump and vote Republican, and zero is sent to the House, zero representative from the Republican Party. So there's gerrymandering, crazy gerrymandering going on all over the country, and we wanted to try to stop it in California, and we did stop it in California, and we met around the country. So I thank this whole thing about finger pointing and said, they did it, so therefore we should do it. That's not really the way to go. The one party should outperform the other party. It should be performance. And when it comes to midterm elections, as you know, always the party that is not in the White House usually wins by 20, 25, 30 seats. So what does five seats matter in the first place? Matters a lot because the more people vote with their feet. and leave California, Illinois, New York, and go primarily to red states like Texas, Florida, Tennessee, North Carolina, the more they'll pick up districts. They have to offset that. They plan to offset it the way they built it with gerrymandering. This is fascinating to me.

Remember, we haven't been experiencing red waves. We've been experiencing orange waves. In other words, what is the Republican Party in a post-Donald Trump world? Or the way CNN asked the question is, what is MAGA's grip? on the GOP. They ran the numbers. Harry Enten has the story. Over the long run, that's what I think is so important here. And it's not just about Donald Trump. It's about the make America movement again. That's what we're talking about. Make America Great Again movement. And it is as powerful as it has ever been. Because I want you to take a look here. GOP who view MAGA favorably, two years ago when Donald Trump was running for term number two, it was 74%. What do you think it's going to be? I'm talking to you figuratively the listener one-on-one. Does it feel like the unity, energy, and passion of MAGA is higher now or lower two years later? For those of you that think it may have dipped a little, listen. Okay, look at this. It's 78% of Republicans who view the make America Great Again movement favorably. So we're talking about something that, in my opinion, will very much be able to outlast Donald Trump. Trump is in term number two. He can't run for a term number three. But the bottom line is this. What he brought... No, no, no, no. I got to disagree with Harry on this. Okay, so this is a snapshot of where America is right now. If Rahm Emanuel and Wes Moore, God forbid even Gavin Newsom or a Democrat wins in 28, I think that can change dramatically. They have to win. This handoff to either Marco Rubio, JD Vance, or both is key as to how long MAGA continues. And remember, Reagan was far more of a revolution after office than Donald Trump, the disruptor and revolution while in office. But for legacy purposes, remember, I'm not convinced both parties will survive the decade. The Democrats. are being destroyed from within, like a parasite. And if this socialist, communist, anti-God, anti-American takeover happens, well, then the host dies when the parasite wins. And they become two fringe parties. But what about the Republicans? There are a lot of people who would like to see the Republican Party turn back to the Reagan Revolution, back to conservative Republicans. Example, Ted Cruz. Who's got the future? JD Vance or Ted Cruz? Marco Rubio or Ted Cruz?

This just suggests MAGA is stronger today than two years ago. How strong will it be going into 28 and how strong it'll be after 2020? That's a whole other conversation. All right, everybody. Look and low. Look, you've just got to try harder, not to suck. So I'm glad for the opportunity for a brief civics lesson. You're a fashion. Perhaps you'd like to be alone with the radically deteriorating mental condition. When it comes to politics, you don't know what's a fucking call. So to speak. Ghislaine Maxwell will invoke her Fifth Amendment right in her testimony today. and 21 million people watch the opening ceremonies of the Olympic Games, which Roy O'Neill, our national correspondent, is here to give us an update on Team USA. I got to tell you, I thought it was one of the more beautiful opening ceremonies ever, visually everything. I got it. It wasn't weird. Right. And the other thing is that the Winter Olympics are a lot smaller than the summer games. A lot fewer athletes, fewer participants. So it's a very different vibe. I was out in Salt Lake City for the Olympics back in 2002 to get a close-up view of that. And it is much more familial feeling than you go to Beijing or whatever for the giant summer games that seem like an invasion by an army. So it's a very different vibe in these winter games. And it was sort of fun the way they opened things up there in Italy. In the movie Major League, the music is Wild Thing, and in comes Charlie Sheen, you know, and that's your closer. The U.S. figure skating team had one too in the quad god, and it turned out to be just too much technical scoring for the Japanese to keep up. And that along with Breezy Johnson gives us the two goals, which has us only one behind Norway, right? Right, and it depends on how you want to rank the medals, right? You can either do a, you know, is it the quantity or the quality? What do you want to measure here as to who comes in first? But as you said, right now, the U.S. does have two medals. They're both gold. That ties us with Switzerland in the current medal count. But Italy is right now leading the charge there in their home country, nine medals overall. Yeah, they've had some great, great moments. Probably the best weekend. And the Zoom for Italy. The drone camera footage of these downhill ski competitions. Oh my gosh. This is why we all bought that big screen TV, right? If you haven't seen any downhill skiing with the drone stuff, we'll find it. It looks like a sheet of ice. The speeds are 80 and some kid one peaked out at 120 miles on. Can you imagine on the interstate, Roy? We'd be speeding and they'd still go past us. That's what made Lindsey Vaughn's wipeout so breathtaking. in terms of fear. You die going down that downhill. All right.
