It's eight minutes after the hour. The ransom deadline, second ransom deadline has passed in the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie.

Fireworks expected to fly with a house hearing on Homeland Security today. We have the men's competition in figure skating today. We also have the women playing their rival Canada. Hopefully we can get to a podium today at the Winter Olympics in Milan. And as I mentioned, one of the big, big stories is the peace negotiations with Iran. Iran simply cannot be allowed to have a nuclear weapon. It just cannot happen. If the discussions went well. I'm not so certain. The negotiators would then head to a battleship, the USS Lincoln afterwards. We also have a emergency meeting with Israel slated for Wednesday. It has some of us assuming or anticipating potential U.S. airstrikes on Iran. Colonel Stephen Bucci is joining us with the Heritage Foundation and one of the largest think tanks of the world. Red just asked me, I know you went to West Point, right, Stephen? Yes, I did. Yeah, West Point. Why did you ask, Red? I was just curious. Oh, just curious. Okay. I don't know. I think he's tracking you, Stephen. That's all right. He's a good guy, right? We're okay. Yeah, no, West Point's a good thing. So help us out with this. It doesn't look good. You know, when the negotiators leave the negotiation and head straight to the USS Lincoln to meet with the airmen and the seamen, that doesn't look good. And then now an emergency meeting with Israel on Wednesday, are airstrikes coming? I don't know for sure. You know, I don't have any insider info, but the indicators would. say to me that, yeah, it's getting closer rather than moving in the opposite direction. Flying out to the aircraft carrier, Lincoln, in the middle of this is, you know, it means they're getting to a safe place because stuff may be starting to happen. And that's unfortunate. But, you know, we've given the Iranians a lot of rope. to play with. And unfortunately, they see themselves and they kind of are master negotiators. They're really good at pulling people along and getting more time and dangling offers that they really don't have any intention of ever complying with. I think President Trump's patience is at an end. All the preparation seems to be there. for action. So I would guess in the next day or two, we're going to see some things happening around Tehran. All right, here's the good news. Good news is a lot of the proxies that Iran supports that usually carry out retaliatory terrorist actions have been depleted. I mean, that much this administration, along with coalition forces, have done a great job of taking out the Houthis, the Hamas and others. So that's a strength. We use strategic airstrikes to set the program back last time. Will there be more of that? Or as I mentioned, more? There's no question the world needs and this administration wants a regime change. Do you go further than targeted airstrikes? You just keep pushing back the clock on their ability to enrich this uranium at such a level of weapon grades. Or do you do more?

Well, I think there will be additional strikes against, you know, any remnant of that nuclear infrastructure that they've put in there. I think it will probably spread to some of the delivery means. So some of their ballistic missile capabilities, I think will also be degraded. Their air defense capabilities are pretty much flat on their backside. The Israelis sort of took care of most of that. But I think you're going to see some strikes against elements of the regime, specifically the IRGC Cuds Force troops and elements, because that's their biggest tool of repression and the most violent members of the security forces. I think if we want a message to the people that were on their side, that it's not just... regime change for our political purposes, but trying to enable the Iranian people to gain control of their country again, I think hitting the cuts force would be the right way to go. And they may actually go after some of the political leaders as well because they're the ones, you know, claiming the authority of God to do what they're doing. And I think people need to see that. They may not be working for God. See, I think for you and I, we know they're not, but, you know. Yeah, I went to LSU. I didn't go to West Point. I went to LSU, but I think there's going to be some of that because that's that wanting regime change. That's wanting to support the people of Iran and, you know, take out these dangerous forces. You know, Revolutionary Guard targets could be a part of that as well. Remember, they have a military and. The Ayatollah has his revolutionary guard. We've noticed in the past that intelligence has been so strong on targeting key individual targets as well as key targeted areas, whether it's delivery systems or enrichment. I expect all of that. Yeah, I mean, you have to remember that the Iranians have an incredibly strong and effective internal security infrastructure. Their secret police, the IRGC, all of them are really, you know, everywhere in that country. On the other hand, they've got a population. that is really tired of these guys and are willing to put their lives on the line to try and get free. We saw that in the most recent demonstrations that are starting to kick up again. These people are willing to go with basically bare chests and empty hands, right into the teeth of firearms, not riot control stuff, but bullets, machine guns. bombs against them. When the population is that upset with the regime, they're cooperative with people who are also against the regime. The Israelis just have tremendous, tremendous human intelligence capabilities inside that country. That's where we get the lion's share of that really high quality, very precise intel.

that they've used themselves, but they've also allowed us to use in targeting the facilities and the individuals. They do the individuals. We've been doing the facilities, or at least the high-end ones. So it's a great cooperative effort. Other countries in the region have helped in defending Israel and defending other targets. Sunni Arabs in the region are not friends of the Shia Persians. And they're willing to make common cause with us and even with Israel because they know the Iranians are a much bigger threat to anybody in the region than the Israelis or the Americans for sure. Colonel Stephen Bucci joining us. You know, it is interesting. A worst case scenario would be if all these radical Islamist factions would unite. Fortunately for the world, they usually are fighting with each other. And I can't think of a better time in recent history where there's just been no support. I mean, Iran is as isolated as I believe Russia is right now in the world community. And that will aid this effort as well. What do you make of these emergency meetings with Israel? Is this about the Palestinian territory or the coordination of this attack? I think probably little of both. Clearly, you know, we've got to cooperate with them going forward in Gaza. We can't do it without Israel's cooperation. We want them in not just cooperation, but agreement with us in what we do and how we do it. But for sure, we coordinate with them all the time, and they are going to be a part of any sort of response, whether they... participate openly with their aircraft and forces as well or will they just be an enabler you know using their assets in the country to turn things off and open up corridors for our people to go through it's you know it could go either way there but they're coordinating with them on that aspect as well makes all a sense of the world All right, so one thing you're not going to have is element of surprise. I mean, the writing's on the wall. That's what we basically talked about for 10 minutes. How much do you lose on having element of surprise? And what would you think the timeline might be? The element of surprise at this point is not an issue. Their air defenses are so depleted, they are so beaten down. As you mentioned, their proxies are all defanged, that it's not a big deal. We could announce to them the moment we're going to do it, and they're not going to be able to stop it or hinder it in any way. The timeline, I would guess.

Before the end of the week, I think we'll see something. Yeah, I do too. Well, I said yesterday. I think Thursday or Friday is probably go time. Anything to fear in terms of what last time, I mean, they fired missiles, Iron Dome caught virtually all of them. What do you think, you know, do you have a John F. Robert F. Kennedy Jr. moment. All right, we're going to do all this. And then what do you think they're going to do? You know, they will do something to try and strike back, but for all their bluster, they don't have the capability that they had a year ago. It is so... beaten down that it's i mean it didn't prove terribly effective before when they had more capability now they got a lot less it's going to be a lot less capable but it's they're going to be more desperate they're going to realize this is that approaching the end of their evil regime and they're they're willing to die for their cause So I think you could potentially see, you'll see rockets, you'll see some long-range missiles. I'm not worried about those. It can't be cavalier. We've got to be skillful and handle those. I think they will attempt to do some terrorist activity. But again, with the proxies down so far, that's really the guys who've been doing that kind of stuff or the threat of them. So that's... much depleted as well. So we could see some terrorist activity. We'll definitely see some ballistic missiles fired in various places. I don't think any of it will have any particular effect, not strategically. But even if one or two get through, we could lose lives and that's a tragedy. But I think the right thing to do for the region. for the world and particularly for the Iranian people is to act and to act sooner rather than later. Well, because the alternative of them having a weapon of mass destruction that they will use would be far worse. I only have less than a minute. Less than a minute. So make it a quick answer. But, you know, I always pretend I'm one of them whenever I kind of war game things out and logic. And why they wouldn't, would the people? growing impatient and frustrated and against them within their own country, with no support from other Muslim nations, and knowing Donald Trump is president, why wouldn't you come to the table, make an agreement, even if you don't keep it, and just play and hope for a different presidency in three years is beyond me. They keep pressing their luck, and I think they're going to have more bombs coming their way because of it. I don't understand why they wouldn't just play that card. I think they're trying to play that card, but we've got pretty good negotiators there. You know, we're not sending John Kerry this time to negotiate. That's true. That's true. And that makes it a lot tougher on them. They're probably playing all those games, but we've got some pretty hard-nosed negotiators in there on our side. And I think they're realizing that this game is up. They know they've got the wrong president from their point of view to deal with.

But three years is a long time. So it's a little hard to fob us along that long with this guy in the White House. I got to tell you, I don't, I don't ever recall. I don't ever recall in history, negotiators leaving a negotiation and going straight to a battleship carrier. I really don't. That was a new one for me and very symbolic. So much division today, it really is the most obnoxious trait of the matrix, extreme divided bubbles of tribalism that we have created. And this nothing gets Red's head to explode more than these athletes who just won't shut up and play. Just like singers should shut up and sing, just like actors should shut up and act. But what's interesting is Phil's comments, as Phil talks about it's really the journalists that create this. And as always, when it comes to leftist journalism, it's not a two-way street. Right now, you have all of these journalists who are asking American Olympians to apologize for the U.S. regime. None of those journalists have gone to Eileen Gou, an American citizen who is skiing. And I think she won a silver medal the other day for the CCP and asked her. What do you think about this death sentence that was just handed down to Jimmy Lai? What do you think about the Uyghur internment camps? You have a free press in the West still. And our colleagues, they're more than happy to politicize a sporting event, but they're only willing to politicize it in one way, and that is to bring shame upon their own countries. Yeah, keep in mind, though, the athletes can stop that by not playing the game. Famously. They tried to do this with Elvis. I think of a million examples, but Elvis comes to mind. What do you think of these protests? What do you think of these demonstrations? What do you think of the, I'm just an entertainer. I really don't have a comment on that. And that was it. And it was shut down. You could just say, look, I'm here to compete for my country.

Any questions you have about my sport, my training, my readiness. I'm really not a political commentator. They could shut it down. I'll tell you guy who knows how to shut it down. You got to admit, it's strange. If we could all tap each other on the shoulder five years ago. And say, you will find the two most reasonable minds are going to be Senator John Fetterman and Bill Maher. You just said, what? And again, let's make sure we're not playing The Matrix 2. That we're not just loving Bill Maher now because they've gone woke too far. And he's saying things that help our team, whether it's shirts or skins. No, let's just follow the balls and the strikes and the logic. And Bill Maher sat down with Adam Carolla, smoking a joint, drinking some booze, and said this. It's so hard to not be on one of the extremes. Yes. To not have a team. I mean, it just really sucks. And especially in this town, where everyone's on one team. And it's not, I mean, as I always say to my woke friends, we voted for the same person. You're just why she lost. Right. And they do not like that. Right. They are very exclusionary. Yes. You know, they really just don't want to breathe the same air. If you're not exactly with the group think. Yes, which is while they're not that bright. I know. And it's such, it's, it's, it's sort of, it's, it's sort of, it's counterintuitive to me because I always feel like you should be looking for things you agree on, not looking for things you disagree on. And boy, that's just not America anymore, is it? I don't know why I just, you know, went out on the observation deck and I'm just looking at the sun. And I'm just filled with gratitude. It's not all good. It's not all rosy. We've got some tough challenges right now in the world and in my personal life. But just to stand outside, look at the sun, feel the peaceful air and say, God, this is a gift. This is a day that's never going to happen again. Can you imagine just how empty it would be to be looking for a fight today?

Just an unwillingness to play it will end it. Will we ever end it? Well, we always know how the president feels about Robert F. Kennedy Jr.. Bobby. What does Bobby think of Donald Trump? Well, that came up at a Heritage Foundation conversation. Listen, he's very business friendly and he admires business people more than anybody. You know, he loves them. But he will not tolerate overreach. And he doesn't care about vested interest. And he doesn't care about, you know, about offending powerful people. So it's a joy to work for him because he lets me do stuff that I don't think anybody else would ever let me do. You know, if he didn't have this disorder, this focal disorder. I really think Robert F. Kennedy Jr.. would have been a president. I don't know if America can get beyond that. All right, where do we go with Nancy Guthrie? A second expired ransom deadline. According to the FBI, no conversation whatsoever or communication between the kidnappers and the family. And no clues on how to find her. Maybe that's what led to this. Now, the most interesting part about this video, is that Savannah Guthrie is going to discuss the disappearance of her mother and what's next with you, not the kidnappers. Listen. We believe our mom is still out there. We need your help. Law enforcement is working. tirelessly around the clock trying to bring her home, trying to find her. She was taken and we don't know where. And we need your help. So I'm coming on just to ask you not just for your prayers, but no matter where you are, even if you're far from Tucson. If you see anything, you hear anything, if there's anything at all that seems strange to you, that you report to law enforcement. We are at an hour of desperation. And we need drop. I mean, that speaks for itself, right? Short and straight to the point. Do they really believe that Nancy might still be alive? She says so. Are they even bothering to talk to kidnappers? No. And according to the FBI, the kidnappers aren't talking to them. Are they close to anything? Do they have any persons of interests or suspects or clues as to where she may be or her remains may be?

so sad and so revealing i hope this audience i can tell you that your host will listen and act i have no clues but i do have prayers hope you do as well This is CNN. This is the news. And that's why more people are watching the cartoon network. SpongeBob reruns right now. Be a good Democrat. This is like a goldstone. It's a government that just minds its own damn business and leaves people alone. It's your morning show with Michael Deljourno. We also have your voice. Mary on the talkback line from Boise. Good morning, Michael. I'm not a true crime expert, but ransom notes, I think, are just distractions from what the real crime was, if you remember the John Bonnet Ramsey case. And I'm curious to know if there, I haven't seen any reports of a vigil, because sometimes law enforcement will be undercover embedded to see who shows up and how they're behaving. Just food for thought. Yeah, that Mary always insightful. That's what's so strange about this case. Roy's here, right? Yep. Yeah, Roy O'Neill, our national correspondent, who's been covering the story. So, you know, it's somewhere between, it's everything looks more like a break-in murder. than it does the kidnapping. And when you view it through the lens of kidnapping, none of this makes sense, including an 84 year old, including spending 40 minutes in the house. I guess that's kind of the catch of all this, right? Well, yeah, and then the changing messages, I was more struck by the message from Savannah Guthrie last night when she did not talk to the abductors and when she did not reference the ransom and stuff like that. I think that's more of a red flag that makes it sound that they're back to square one in this investigation. Well, yeah, because if you really boil her message down yesterday, and it was short, and it was straight to the point. We need your prayers and we need a clue. That's really what it was begging for. You're right. The biggest thing is she's not even talking to kidnappers anymore. She's talking to the American people. And she's saying we need your prayers and we need a clue. That tells me they got nothing. Right. And that's a message that could have literally been put out a week ago. Right. Whereas compared to what we saw on Saturday, which had Savannah and her siblings saying we will pay, but the FBI is saying there's been no more contact with these abductors for that proof of life that the family was looking for. So where are we? Is the big question. And of course, no updates from the police. So now we're just left to fill the void.

Yeah, and then there's this other aspect, which is, you know, she says that we still believe our mother is alive, but I don't see that in her face necessarily. There's a lot of blood leaving the home. That was a lot of time in the home. whoever this was. We don't know if they were in the home when she got there or if they came later. I mean, for all we know, Roy, the timeline is that dismembering of the ring was to exit with the body, not to enter the home necessarily. I mean, we just don't know anything. You know, at some point. And there are hours to fill on TV. Well, yeah, and I don't know that any of that's helpful either. It's a dangerous combination, yeah. Yeah, so, all right, so it appears as though there are no clues. There's no contact. According to the FBI, they don't know of any contact that has happened necessarily. Right. Where do we go from here? Yeah, that's the open question, right? Especially since there was a deadline last night that apparently passed with nothing. So are there consequences? I think it's now on the laps of the abductors. You know, it's their move, essentially. You know, Savannah and the siblings have offered to pay. So it's now their move. But they said no more contact. But here's what I'm trying to dust out. All right. So they're either afraid to make contact because they could be traced. And so they're kind of paralyzed and locked in. We were told that she had medicine that if she didn't take, would cost her her life within hours, if not days. Now we're into the second week of this nightmare as Savannah referred to it. What about that? I mean, I don't know what assumptions to even make following this one. If this was a 48 hours or a dateline. You know, where are we and how do we get to where we're going? This one, everything is just not right. Everything points to a family member or a break-in turn murder and then somebody kind of copycatting on with a kid. I don't know. Something very unique and very wrong is here happening. I think the focus again is going to be on those closest to her since that's where these normally come from. So I think it's an opportunity to re-examine the people closest to her. Well, we don't normally have two ransom deadlines, but both have now passed.
