NASA getting ready to prepare for the next Artemis mission. Voters are preparing to vote in Virginia concerning gerrymandering. And a U.S. delegation led by Vice President JD Vance is on standby. And if they get the nod, they're all the way to Pakistan for potential peace talks. But it does beg the question, is the Strait of Hormuz open or not? I say open. Are the peace talks on or not? I say only time will tell. And even then, what do they really mean? And what about the ceasefire that's expiring? To give us a military analysis, we turn to Colonel Stephen Bucci from the Heritage Foundation with the largest think tanks in the world. Good morning, Colonel. Your thoughts on the standby flight for JD Vance. Well, first, good morning to you, and thank you for having me back again. You know, I'll be honest with you. I am not optimistic about the peace talks. We're still not even sure who is really the decision makers in Iran right now. It appears the civilians that came to the last set of peace talks, which we anticipate will be who will come to this set. are not making the decisions. It's the IRGC leadership, not the military leadership, but the folks in the IRGC, probably the most radical elements left, are the ones calling the shots. And they don't seem inclined to negotiate or to follow what the negotiations finally agreed to. So I think this is going to end up backed in at the conflict level here, pretty shortly. All right. The Revolutionary Guard, which, by the way, is the elite force that serves at the pleasure of the Supreme Ayatollah, and you are right, the radical side. This is different than what we're used to, where Iran has a military, and its Navy has been decimated. Its Air Force has been decimated. Its missile systems have been devastated, and its enriched uranium, the ability to make a weapon of mass destruction has been destroyed, not confiscated, but it's buried under rubble. In terms of radical elements... This new Ayatollah for however long, this one lasts, doesn't seem to be moderate by any stretch. And the Revolutionary Guard hasn't changed its stripes. So until you're sitting with the right people, you're really not achieving anything anyway. So I don't know what game we're playing. I guess what I'm worried about is art of the deal meeting the art of the stall?

Part of it, I mean, President Trump is facing folks who are known internationally definitely in the region as the masters of... hardcore negotiation, bait and switch, you know, lie, give a little lie some more kind of negotiations in the Iranians. So he's got, it's a tougher deal with even he's had to address. But they're the ones who have never dealt with somebody like him before. You know, they're always thinking Americans and Westerners in general. are a bunch of knuckleheads that so badly want a deal that they'll do anything for it. They'll give any concession no matter how duplicitous they may be and how duplicitous they may act, that they can still get control of it. I'm not sure they're right, but President Trump is his... trying to make this work through negotiations, but it's not negotiations at any cost. It's negotiations, and if you don't play nicely, then the stick's going to come back out. We'd all like peace, but I'm not sure peace is within reach yet, Michael. I think there's going to have to be some more action. But Colonel Bucci, even if they signed a peace deal today, would you believe peace has been achieved? No, absolutely not. Not with the IRGC. So calling the shots for sure. All right. So what is not negotiable? Or what might they be holding out for? If it's... maintaining and keeping possession of their enriched uranium. If it's their ability to fund and rebuild their proxies and their nuclear program, these are all no deals. Controlling of the Strait of Hormuz. I mean, I don't hear any inkling of anybody willing to budge on anything. So I don't even know why we're dealing with a headline like JD Vance. I don't even know why JD Vance is wasting his time on standby. Some of that, you know, I have a feeling they're thinking just like us, the JD Vance team and the president, but they know there's this enormous element who is hoping against hope that this thing will end, everything will open, the unicorns will come out, and we'll be out, all be fine. So they are making every effort, even efforts. that they probably don't think have much chance of bury any fruit. They're going to at least go through the motions so that later nobody can say, look, we pulled the trigger too fast or, you know, that we were the aggressors and they, there's, you know, the poor Iranians are just set upon by the mean old Americans. You know, those knuckleheads are going to say that no matter what, frankly. But they're going through the motions.

so that every base is covered so that when they really start thumping them hard, harder than they have already, frankly, and targeting things that have not been targeted before that the Democrat Party as a group and some of our allies can't say, oh my gosh, look at how horrible President Trump is. He can say, look, I went the extra mile here trying to do this by negotiation. They refused to play. Their demands were ridiculous. You know, we're not going to let them control the Straits of Hormuz. They don't own the Straits of Hormuz. It's international waters for good to say. Why would they have any concept that they should own it and be able to run this protection racket for anybody who goes through it? It's just ludicrous. And the nuke stuff, look, they've known for a long time. The Israelis and America have said over and over then, not no, but heck no, at least this administration of Americans. Others have said, well, you know, maybe sometime in the future you could have some bombs because you'll be nice by then, which is just insanity. So, you know, I think this is going to go back to the force of all. Probably sooner rather than later. The U.S. delegation led by JD Vance could travel to Pakistan for potential peace talks. It's not looking very likely. We're getting military analysis now from Colonel Stephen Bucci. All right, what is working? Well, the Strait of Hormuz. So we can't count how many hundreds of ships didn't even bother for fear to press their luck. Of those that did, 27 ships trying to enter or exit Iranian ports since the blockade went in effect. were turned back without having to be warned, fired upon, or boarded. They simply turned on their own. 27 for 27. Then one, Iranian cargo ship does not and thinks it can outrun the Navy or call the Navy's bluff. It gets its engines taken out and it gets boarded. Now we're searching containers to see what it contains. I wonder how much... I would think Iran probably knows what's in those containers, but I wonder how much we're waiting to see what's in those containers before we even take another step forward. But if the big questions are peace or no peace, I think no peace, straight of Hormuz open, the markets will indicate there's no uncertainty there, it is open. And so that really leaves not a lot of questions other than the expiration. So what becomes of this expiration date, which I think is what, a day away, two days away? Yeah. No, I think it's the end of today. Or today? Today, that's right. Yeah, it's today. I think. we're going to see, you know, JD Vance and the team is going to wait, and they're going to wait, and I don't think that because the IRGC are really the guys, they're not going to show up. They may send somebody just to try and buy more time so that they can continue their mischief. I don't think President Trump's going to put up with that. I think my close of business today, you're going to see a decision, and we'll know it because we'll start hitting targets.

And, you know, we had had some heartening developments inside the country. There have been some resistance force attacks against IRGC officials and some of their facilities. Not a lot and not enough to say, you know, the whole nation is up in arms, but there's some sparks there that we can only hope may catch fire and... the people will turn on these folks and that's not an easy thing to do. It's really sporty, as I like to say, but it's probably the only hope. to quickly get rid of these guys. The American military is not going to go in there and take out every single IRGC guy. That requires us to invade the country. We're not going to do that. But I think we can continue to try and set the conditions to make the uprising more likely and then hope and pray that they can do it and do it at a low enough cost that... It does not become a magical. Just in a closing thought. I mean, I think the president would love to have a political solution or finality to this so everybody can move on because an agreement really isn't worth a whole lot in and of itself anyway. But I don't think he's willing to cave in any way in order to achieve that. He is driven by removing this threat permanently or at least disabling it for a good period of time, not knowing who the next president is and the track record of previous presidents to not take action. So I think we all kind of know. It's not as uncertain as it looks. It's just not the finish we wanted. It's kind of my final thoughts. You feeling somewhat the same way? I agree 100%. I think the president would like to see a negotiated settlement that was real and would last. I don't think that's within the realm of possibility with the players on the other side of the table, if they even come to the table. And it's not yet reachable because the Iranian people do not yet feel sufficiently enabled to try and take their country back. So there needs to be some more trimming done by us from a standoff distance and pressure put on them money-wise and military strength-wise to try and get these bad guys out of there in a way that will allow a real piece to be put into place. It's doable, Michael, I think, but not easy.

Yeah, and to me, the enduring uncertainty that really concerns me. is how the enemy understands us so much better than we understand the enemy. There are still most in America who are afraid of an endless war. The endless war is the 1400-year mission of radical Shia jihadist Islam, the holy war that's been going on for 1,400 years, and it will not be defeated until it's defeated. The amount of turning against Israel that has taken place, those are the uncertainties that are concerning to me, that we haven't learned anything. And we continue to not learn those lessons. I'm very concerned about the way here at home and, of course, around the world. Sentiments are turning against Israel. This is a 1400-year holy war, not the potential because of the actions of Donald Trump of an endless war. It's already endless. The enemy seems to know us better than we know the enemy. That part is very discouraging for me. Can't have your morning show without your voice. Wouldn't have your morning show without your voice. It's all about you. Let's start in St. Louis, Missouri. Hey, Michael, love your show. Talking about a draft. I have sons who are draft age, and I voted for Trump, and I'd vote for him again. And again, I'd vote to make him king probably. But I'd hide my sons out in the woods somewhere before I would allow them to go over to that country and fight for this cause. I really don't. First of all, you know, I'm a father, so I know how you feel. However, I can't think of a more worthy place to fight, potentially. Number two, it's really the individual's choice. We do not live in a draft.

Now, at 18 years old, I had to register, but we were not in an active draft situation, so I don't have to worry about lotteries or actually having to go serve. We have volitional armies now. And thank God for the men and women who are wired so in courage and service and selflessness to train and serve so that we don't need one. This particular dilemma in Iran. Unless you think you're going to go in with ground forces and take that country over, you don't even have enough. And you wouldn't want to or really need to. The ultimate change in Iran from a regime change standpoint and returning to more Persian origins rather than radical Islamist origins, that's up to their people. Now, the ability to sit. And watch crazy mullahs and Ayatollahs have weapons of mass destruction and delivery systems to deliver them, whether through proxy or rocket. Well, that's just insanity. This president's done a great job of beating back their proxies, defeating Hamas, Hezbollah, and others, setting up relationships with Arabic nations, other Muslim nations. isolating the Shia radical Islamist Iranians, taking out their weapons of mass destruction. Now, in a perfect world, you'd like to leave with that enriched uranium. But right now, it's buried under rubble. You've taken out all their top scientists, all their top intelligence specialists. You've destroyed their country's Navy, Air Force. You have not completely destroyed the Revolutionary Guard, and the people have not yet risen up and taken their country back. The Strait of Hormuz, as we know, other than one ship that had to be dismantled and boarded by the Marines, basically 27 of them turned away volitionally, and hundreds of hundreds haven't pressed their lock. The Strait of Hormuz is secure. They are not a clear and predictable present nuclear danger. That's all very good. But this is a 1,400-year enemy that's not going to stop trying. They are going to defeat you or be defeated. They're going to destroy Israel and kill every last Jew, destroy America, the great Satan, and kill every last Christian, or they're going to die trying. Because that's their worship. That's the example of their prophet, and that's the calling of their prophet. They're not crazy. They're obedient to death. And so I'm not criticizing you. I get where you're coming from as a father and it's irrelevant. We don't have a draft. We have an automatic registry, but there is no draft in effect and there's no threat that this would cause that. This will end with a weapon of mass destruction solution before ground forces. I don't know what brought this whole thing up other than the ignoramus is at the view. But I can tell you this. They are more than willing to send their sons here to bomb your children. And that will never not be a reality. Make sure that's in your pipe when you're smoking, is all I'm saying. Yeah, Michael, the problem I see with maintenance bombing is as soon as Trump's out of office or a Democrat becomes president, then that policy would end, it seems to me. I could be wrong, but... No, you're not wrong, and it would, especially if it's a Democrat. And that's the shame. But it really wouldn't be that president's fault any more than it's the previous president's fault. It's the voter's fault. Every president prior to Donald Trump, including Kamala Harris who was trying to be president. When I asked point blank, what is the most predictable, clearest threat and enemy of the United States, Iran? The difference is Donald Trump has done something about it. As much as I don't like the way the views of Israel are changing here at home and abroad, I am grateful. for where we're at today. You are much safer today. Israel is much safer today. Our men and women who did make the difficult choice to serve this country in very dangerous positions are safer today than they were three months ago. But I think in this particular case, that's about as good as it gets unless the American people wake up to this enemy. Wake up to the reality of this thread. and vote accordingly. What an honor is to have Senator Ted Cruz join us. Ted, just to get you up to speed, we've been talking about, there's one way of looking at this, kind of the art of the deal meets the art of the stall. But that would make me so ignorant of Muhammad in his life, his serras, the Koran, the Hadith. This is, you know, everybody at home is worried about an endless war. Well, this is a 1400-year holy war from their perspective. They seem to know us their enemy very well. We still haven't really woken up and understood this enemy. And if we did, we'd appreciate what the president has done, what he's still trying to do, but there's a long way to go. Good morning and welcome to your morning show. It's an honor to meet you, Senator. Michael, it's great to be with you. Listen, I agree with you. This military conflict has gone on a little more than two months. And in that very short time period, we've already seen extraordinary and unprecedented successes. If you look at the military objectives that President Trump set out at the outset, we have accomplished all of them. So where are we right now? Iran's air defenses are utterly eliminated. Their ballistic missiles are completely gone. Their ability to manufacture new ballistic missiles, totally destroyed. Their drones and their drone manufacturing, gone. Their air force is in rubbles and destroyed. Their navy is on the bottom of the ocean, completely sunk more than 140 ships, the largest naval defeat since World War II. The Ayatollah is gone. Virtually all of the senior military leadership is gone. As a military matter, we have achieved very close to 100% of the objectives the president laid out.

President Trump has drawn some additional red lines. The red lines he's drawn is that Iran must have zero nuclear enrichment, number one. Iran must hand over the enriched uranium they have, number two, and Iran must stop funding terrorism. They are the world's leading funder of terrorism. Those are all exactly right. They're very reasonable red lines, and the way the president is enforcing that. is with a naval blockade on the Strait of Hormuz, which is shutting down Iran's ability to transport oil. The impact of that blockade is $500 million in economic losses every single day on Iran. That is crushing. And in terms of the Democrats who just want to attack President Trump and talk about an endless war, There are right now zero American boots on the ground. This is using American power to stand up to an enemy who has been murdering Americans and to do that to protect Americans and keep American lives safe. Senator Ted Cruz joining us, you know, it's hard when you start doing these lists. That was flawlessly laid out. I would add one, the intelligence apparatus has been dismantled and destroyed. Exactly right. And the president did a masterful job dealing with Houthis and Hamas and Hezbollah, the proxies. So he diminished them. And I would add. We were all wondering, what was going on in Saudi Arabia with that camel parade? Or how about in Qatar when the women were, it was a parade of hair? The president set up Saudi Arabia in Qatar and some of the Arab and other Muslim nations to isolate Iran. This is all very brilliantly done. Not celebrated at home. In fact, at home, I'm sorry, Ted Cruz, not just the far left with an Israel problem. Now we got one brewing on the far right as well. And that's why I want to conclude by saying, And we didn't do all of this alone. It was a lot. There's something, I mean, Israel's got might of its own. Nobody has might like us. We've got great intelligence. Their intelligence is frightening to me. But the two together, what they achieved. And the fact that nobody at home is appreciating it tells me they don't understand this enemy or its threat. That's the part that's bothering me, Senator. Why is it so hard for America to go? Study the three contradictory lives of Muhammad. Study the Quran and the Suras. Study the Hadith. Look at 1,400 years of history. This enemy's not going anywhere. Yeah, look, you're right, and Iran has been waging war against the United States for 47 years, the Iranian Islamic Revolution in 1979. The very first thing they did was seize the American embassy and take Americans hostage for 44 days.

Over those 47 years, Iran has killed nearly 1,000 Americans. They're the leading funder of terrorism in the world. And the president launched this military attack to keep Americans safe to stop Iranians from continuing to kill Americans if the Ayatollah got a nuclear weapon. When he chants death to America, I believe him. And it is the one major threat on earth that could, in a flash of an eye, killed hundreds of thousands of Americans. Now, here's some good news on the point you raised. The bad news is Democrats and the media are both attacking the president from day one. It used to be that politics ends at the water's edge, that we would all line up together in support of our servicemen and women. No longer. The Democrats... Sadly, they're effectively rooting for Iran to win. I've never seen anything like it. No, they are. The good news, however, yeah. The good news, however, you talked about the major dissension on the right. There is dissension on the right, but it is not major. It is small and isolated. You've got a couple of loud mounts like Tucker Carlson. I think Tucker Carlson is the most dangerous demagogue in America, and he's decided he hates President Trump and he's going to attack President Trump's foreign policy every day. But Tucker Carlson's audience is small and dwindling. And in terms of Republicans, 90% of Republicans are standing with President Trump and supporting him. So the media is trying to amplify. that, gosh, this is unpopular on the right. The numbers don't back that up. Even if they signed a peace agreement, and I don't know if they will, regime changes the ultimate solution, and that belongs to the Iranian people ultimately. They have demonstrated that they lie and their commitments are not trustworthy. What I have told President Trump, his red lines are exactly right. No enrichment. Hand over there enriched uranium. No support of terrorism. And I think you're right. The real objective here should be regime collapse. America will be safer. I don't have a dog in the fight of who the next leader of Iran is. That's for the Iranian people to decide, not my problem.

But I do have a dog in the fight of not having their leader be a radical Islamist who chants death to America and sends millions of dollars to fund terrorists killing Americans.
