Yeah, and the answers I give you to all those questions may change by the end of the show. So it really is like it is all that dicey. Iran is essentially saying that, you know, they're so outraged by the U.S. Navy taking that cargo ship that they're not going to participate in the talks. But maybe they will show up because, you know, they might want this ceasefire at least to be extended. So if they don't get a... closer to a deal, at least maybe extending this ceasefire a bit more to give them some more breathing room, may be considered a win for this Speaker of their Parliament. Last hour I got all under the weeds and explained it was so much more than this. But it is kind of starting to feel like the art of the deal meets the art of the stall. We'll see if there's a breakthrough on that. Final thing, Rory, investigators in Louisiana trying to figure out, what we were trying to figure out yesterday. How does a guy with a gun felony... get a gun to carry out a mass shooting. Well, if you're planning on committing capital murder, including seven of your own children, I presume illegally is how you get a hold of a gun. Yeah, and that's obviously a big part of the investigation. And more and more of this looks like it was just a brooding mental health crisis that reached a tipping point with the wife filing for divorce. Roy, it's going to be back in the third hour. We'll talk a little bit more about this, Iran deal and other things. Roy, thank you. Great reporting, as always. on the peace talks. And really, if we're going to take everybody at their word, and they are upset over the ship that was taken. Since the naval blockade went into effect, the U.S. has turned back 27 ships. Now, here's the one thing I'm going to interject, and anybody that's in the know would want you to know this. We don't know how many hundreds just avoided trying for fear of interaction. So it's been effective far more than 27 ships. But of the 27 ships it encountered, the U.S. Navy has turned back all 27 trying to enter or exit Iranian ports since the blockade went into effect involving the Strait of Hormuz. One. By the way, of those 27, none had to be fired upon. None had to be boarded. They turned on their own. One did not. One had to be boarded. The Marines are still searching thousands of containers aboard the ship. It was an Iranian cargo ship. The Navy disabled and then seized on Sunday. I mean, you can do some warning, you know, flares over the bow. And then usually when they don't respond to that, you take out. A shot to the propellers. Now they have no propulsion. And then you board. A U.S. military official also said on Monday that a team of Marines was searching and scanning a large number of containers, the Iranian cargo ship that the Navy disabled and seized in the Gulf of Oman. On Sunday, after tried to evade the blockade, it was the first time a vessel was reported to have tried to evade the U.S. Obviously, this sends a message to the hundreds who didn't bother to press their luck, that they were smart. American officials will determine what to do with the disabled vessel once the search is complete. I bring this up because one of the things that may be, if Art of the Deal is meeting Art of the Stall, that's how we're going to frame it, I guess. Art of the Deal is waiting to see what's in these containers. Art of the stall wants to use this seizure.

as a bargaining chip. Obviously, art of the stall knows probably what was in these containers. Art of the deal is still waiting, as is the vice president to whether or not to go to peace talks. One option, of course, would be to tow the stricken ship. An alternative would be to let the team go ahead and go to the Iranian port if there's nothing of significance in these containers. But clearly, you would need to find out first. So, to some degree, no matter what you watch or listen to today, what they're really kicking around is, is the straight secure and open? Look, the market is the debt giveaway? The market's not taking any of the bait daily. And that's why oil's been pretty steady under $90. And the market's been up yesterday flat. Nobody's taken the bait on this. Because for a market, there's nothing worse than uncertainty. I used to try to explain this during the Obama administration.

When you have uncertainty involving policy that would affect the entire healthcare industry or the border and financial security of the entire nation, these kinds of uncertainties wreak havoc on a market. The market is seeing certainties, and I believe the certainties it's seeing is we're safer today than three months ago, and we're probably safe for a window of 10 years. They clearly see the Strait of Hormuz is secured. They don't see an energy crisis, a supply-side crisis at all. Which is why I don't think, you know, if they have a signed peace agreement, They wouldn't necessarily read any trust into that either. It's all cooked in. And that's why we spend so much time talking about what we do know. Now, in a perfect world, you want to take out all their rockets, their delivery systems, you want to take out their intelligence, you want to knock them back, put the economic pressure on them. stop the funding of their proxy arms. And in a perfect world, you'd like to go in and retrieve the enriched uranium too. But you could just leave it under the rubble and every time they make a move towards it, bomb it again. You could keep the straight open and maintenance bomb. Would that be under the umbrella of kicking the can? Listen, you have a 1400-year enemy. that has no incentive to cooperate. One of the biggest mistakes the West makes, and we were talking about this in the golf course yesterday, you think they're nuts, they're worshipping their God. I can't help that the West is ignorant. But if you read the Quran, surah after surah, if you read the Hadith, the life of Muhammad, If you understand his teachings versus Christ's teachings, you'll know this is not your average religion. We're to go forth into all nations and share the good news and make disciples for eternity's sake. They are to conquer the world. You do that by converting, killing, or taxing.

They will only respond to strength and they won't stop until they die because even in dying trying to continue the jihad is worship and obedience and to die trying is the only promise of eternal life. And if they succeed and kill every Jew, and destroy Israel, kill every Christian, and destroy America, the great Satan, and then go on to dominate the world, the hidden imam will appear, judgment from Allah will come. There's only one way to defeat him, and that's kill him. Destroy them. And if you can't get people... to support the difference between an operation and a war for three weeks, four weeks, five weeks, they're certainly not up for the latter. Stepping down, leaving the cabinet. Mark Mayfield reports. When asked spokesperson Stephen Chong posted on X that Lori Chavez-DeRemer will be leaving the administration to take a position in the private sector. She had been facing a probe from the Labor Department's inspector general over potential misconduct. Lori Chavez-DeRemer is the third cabinet secretary this term to leave the Trump administration. The White House says Keith Sondering will serve as acting secretary of the labor department. I'm Mark Nefield. I'd expect Marco Rubio to leave too before the end of the year. Tim Cook will be stepping down as Apple CEO later this year. He'll be replaced by John Turnus, Apple's senior vice president of hardware engineering. Tim Cook has played a pivotal role in Apple's expansion, not only into new technology like the smartwatch and AirPods, but as a company. Apple's market capitalization is now around $4 trillion. In a statement, Cook said being the CEO of Apple has been the greatest privilege of his life. He will hand the reins over to Ternus on September 1st. But he's not entirely disappearing. He'll become the executive chairman of Apple's board of directors. Cook took over the post of CEO from legendary Apple co-founder Steve Jobs in 2011. Tony Waterman, Washington. Tough shoes to fill right, Steve Jobs and Tim Cook. Virginians are headed the polls today to gerrymander or not to gerrymander is the question. If successful, the redistricting referendum would redraw the state's congressional maps and could give Democrats a 10 to 1 advantage in the upcoming midterms. Democrats say it's necessary because Republicans are doing the same in states like Texas. But Republicans say this is different because Democrats are trying to amend Virginia's Constitution. The group behind the effort has outspent the opposition $64 million to $19 million. I'm Chris Coragio. What they needed to is shorten the lines and lower the prices. But Walt Disney World is actually going in the other direction. Florida theme park rolled out its pricing through October 2027. And the most expensive one-day ticket will cost $219 a person on President's Day weekend. Peak ticket this year reached $209. Disneyland's peak ticket has reached $224. Where did he get it? And Virginians are headed the polls today to vote. A vote that could end up shifting the balance of power in the United States Congress. And another cabinet member is leaving this time Labor Secretary Lori Chavez-DeRemer is stepping down. And NASA is preparing for the next Artemis mission. That's just some of the top stories as you're waking up this morning on this Tuesday. This, however. is your sounds of the day for Tuesday. All right, everybody. Lock and low. Look, you've just got to try harder, not for suck. I'm glad for the opportunity for a brief civics lesson. You're a fashion. Perhaps you'd like to be alone with the rapidly deteriorating mental condition. When it comes to politics, you don't know what I'm a whole in the pile. Speaking of Representative Robert F. Kennedy Jr., he had this to say about Eric Swalwell from the House floor. Listen. He has undermined the confidence of the American people in this body. Here's my impression of Congressman Eric Swalwell eating an ice cream cone. You know why I'd do that? Life is hard, but it's harder when you're stupid. And if you're going to be stupid by God, you better be tough. This is no country for creepy old men. And Congressman Eric Swalwell, he'd about to find that out. Well, for Eric Swalwell, there's two sides of the coin. One, he's no longer a candidate for governor in California. He's no longer a member of the United States House of Representatives. Now he faces indictment arrest, criminal charges at a trial. Jerrymandering. It shouldn't be.

Redistricting is constitutional and necessary because our founding fathers knew that states could do what states have rights to do, including stupid. And if it should continue to choose stupid, your last way of voting is with your feet. Now, we're seeing this in New York. We're seeing this in Illinois. We're seeing this in California. We're seeing in Tennessee where everybody from California and Illinois is moving here. But that right to vote with your feet and move makes the necessity of redistricting. Why? Because our founding, if you'll notice, we're the United States of America. And each state, no matter how many people live in it, is represented by two senators. Two senators that should be representing their state and state's rights. They have collectively become a body in a club of 100 that thinks it's really ruling the country, and most times it is. We're only missing our constitutional intent completely. Now, the House... Each state has different numbers of members based on. That's what we call it the people's house. That's where the populace is represented. When the population is no longer there, it shifts. And with it, it shifts the electoral college. The biggest problem for Democrats moving forward is they're at war with themselves. There's an Islamist element. There's a much bigger socialist element. There's very little left of progressivism. let alone there's no such thing as establishment Democrat or conservative Democrat. The party's gone extremely left. Taking a portion of America with it to the left, but it's gone extremely left. And kind of like a parasite with a goal of defeating the host. If it succeeds, the host dies and the parasite dies with it. That is ultimately the clear and present danger. I believe one or both parties could be potentially gone by the end of the decade. I just can't figure out who's going to be first. This handoff of Trumpism is key. A post-Donald Trump mega-Trumpist party remains to be seen. Now, we'll get an answer, a glimpse of that in 2028. Does it continue with JD Vance? And does he pivot from Trump? Will it continue with Marco Rubio? Or will both be tainted by association and will it pave a way for like a Ron DeSantis? The future of the Republican Party won't be answered until 2028. And there are some questions. Mag is loud, but how numerous is it? Look, the Republican Party did one of the most masterful jobs that I hated in absorbing the Tea Party. Can it absorb Trumpism and move on and pivot? Or will it begin a war? Remember, you've lived through the Reagan Revolution, not really the Reagan eight years.

You're not going to just live the eight years of Donald Trump if a Trump revolution continues. And then it just becomes a party, not a Trump derangement syndrome, but a people on the right conservative Republican party derangement syndrome. A lot of dysfunction ahead. Bottom line is redistricting is necessary as people move, and they are exiting California, Illinois, and New York in great numbers. Numbers so great and where they're going so great, primarily Florida, Tennessee, North Carolina. to some degree, Georgia, that's going to shift those states' values on the electoral college map. You can make a case that 10 electoral votes, that's a sizable state in a presidential election, are going to shift from blue to red. Through the course of my lifetime, there has been a proclivity in this country to vote Democrat. Why? Because there were more Democrats than Republicans. The only way Republicans would win is when Democrat energy or divisions were high and energy was low that impacted turnout. You have to have low Democrat turnout for Republicans to win because there's more Democrats. Gerrymandering, no matter how you cut it or who's doing it, is always wrong. That's not you, the voter choosing a candidate. That's the party choosing who votes and where and thus really choosing the candidate over the will of the people by how the district is drawn. I mean in Virginia, it's an all-out attack on rural voters because it just happened to be as it was specifically targeting Republican voters. But the way they achieve it is get tentacles to Fairfax no matter what the district. So they always have that proclivity, always have that built-in advantage. So how important is this vote today in Virginia? Well, it's a vote to suddenly normalize something wrong like gerrymandering. And of course, when you draw these districts a certain way, you get the outcome. That's why you're redrawing them. But in the case of this midterm, could be enough to change the outcome. Britt Hume comments. on that. Well, you know, the saying that's been made about this, and I think it's correct, is that voters are supposed to choose their, you know, the party they want to vote for, the parties are not supposed to choose the voters. When you redistrict like this in a situation where you gerrymander like mad, and this Virginia map is gerrymandered to it fairly well, that's what effectively you're doing. You're just setting it up in such a way that you're sure that you can win by the way you draw the districts. And so that's, that's what's happening here.

It is absolutely hardballed politics, Brett, to be sure. Both parties are doing it. And Virginia's case is particularly egregious since it had set up a nonpartisan commission to take it out of the hands of the politicians. And for this election, they want to put it back in their hands. All right. So I wish you would have gotten into this a little bit. What we need are ideas. smart, selfless, brilliant minds working together to solve problems for common good. You never get that. In fact, we've gotten so dysfunctional, you never have anybody actually govern. It's all just a competition of ours versus D's and who has more, never the American people, and more security, more prosperity, more certainty. You don't have statesmen anymore. You have career politicians. They arrive everyday people, leave multi-millionaires. By the time they leave and it's usually with a tow tag, you're no better off, usually worse off. This is not our intent. If you don't wake up to this at 250, I don't like the view of 300.

This has actually gotten far worse than when I celebrated the bicentennial as a teenager in 1976. Now, what do we always talk about in terms of statement of problem? Well, we were never intended to be a two-party country. Your founders were against it. And they've been proven right. The two-party stranglehold that we the voters have allowed creates distraction and division. And when you add that to a one-party media that creates confusion and mistrust, this is how all this is built, protected, and perpetrated. And it's too much everybody that's busy to get their arms around. So all they do is put all of their hopes, not in we the people, but in a president. And while we're all divided in fighting the powerful elite, they're stealing Congress. Now, we built a matrix. I mean, just using your Facebook account. People come on. Oh, man, I haven't seen you since high school. How's it going? Oh, great, great, great. Next thing you know, he reads your next post. Now he's commenting. Now you're fighting. Now you're unfriending. It doesn't take long before you end up with only people that think like you think, believe like you believe, read what you read, watch what you watch and listen to what you listen to. So we really don't have news consumers anymore. We have news narratives and people sharing those narratives.

narrative repeaters and the two never meet and eventually becomes two separate complete realities and anything goes and truth doesn't matter all that matters is loyalty to your side which means you have to hate the other side and sell the narratives that belittle them and strengthen yours but the two shall never meet well here comes the view and it may frustrate you're like how many times can the view say something stupid something wrong and never get edited by their show producers Lose their credibility and thus people stop watching. It doesn't happen in the Matrix. And the latest is the draft and Whoopi Goldberg. Keep in mind, the Iranian regime is the biggest state sponsor of terrorism. 10 years from now, 20 years from now, they may try to strike the homeland. They may try to strike troops in the region. This doesn't go away just because you sign a piece. That's a simple statement and that's a fact. They are the largest sponsor of terrorism. They are a Shia, radical, Islamist, jihadist nation. With weapons of mass destruction and delivery systems, they were a predictable, clear, and present threat. Everybody's talked about it must be removed. Now it's being removed. Whoopi doesn't comment on any of that. She just jumped straight to the draft. The draft that's always been and never used and never needed to be used. And there's nobody who's strategically thinks it would ever need to. This is not a force war, ground war. You would bomb them or you would nuke them. You don't even have enough troops to take them on the ground. That didn't stop whoopee. She goes right to the draft, inaccurately, but right to the draft. It goes away. And that's why they are planning on a draft. They're planning on a draft. And you're bitching and moaning that there are women who are part of the Army Navy and you're getting rid of people and you talk about who shouldn't be. What the hell are you people doing? And what it is is they're changing that you no longer are, you have to opt, you just have to opt into the draft. Now it makes it automatic. It's a draft. I'm sorry it's a draft. Because if you are 18 to 25, they're looking at you. The draft is not in effect. This isn't Vietnam. Or everybody by age and then by lottery is in line and you will be drafted. We are not operating in a draft any longer, and no one's suggesting that we will, nor does it even apply here. When I was 18, I had to volitionally register. Didn't mean we were drafting. It's meant that I had to register. Now it just does it automatically. That's it's it's so irrelevant to the context of what's being discussed. And it's so inaccurate. And it so doesn't matter. That's life in the Matrix. And it happens on the right, too, I assure you. I want to do it.
