I have got it on mute, obviously, here in the studio. As soon as it wraps up, we'll kind of give you a breakdown if I can get a quick transcript on it. This is following Pete Hegseth's speech to the generals. I will share some details on that. I do have some details on that. It, it, let's just say this. Pete Hegseth is a national treasure. He is a national treasure. I wondered about him in the beginning only because I didn't know his background. He is a national treasure. We'll get to that, though. Here's your first thing, though. You want to win money, $1,000 in the nationwide fall fortune cash contest, right? Of course you do. Here's how you play. You go to our website, WIBA.com. And then you'll find the contest link there. June 2026, first week of June, the weather will be lovely, cruise dash tour.com to sign up for the Vicki McKenna trip of a lifetime to Ireland. All right. Pete Hegseth is a national treasure. I cannot play most of what he said because it was somewhat profane. But he was talking to generals. He wasn't talking to us. He was talking to generals. And so the aggressive, strident, and slightly profane language was appropriate for the audience. But I will just go over a few of the things he said. Pete Hegseth said, no longer will weak men and women. qualify for the United States military. No more weak men, no more weak women. Quote, this is life and death. No more beards or long hair. No more fat generals. I mean, mind you he's talking to the generals. How many of them do you think probably should either get on the Ozempic or just maybe walk around the block once a day? No more fat generals, no more beards or long hair, no more dudes in dresses, no more climate change BS. We are done with that blank. The blank is a profanity, obviously. Can't say it. It's worth watching. It's fun. He just laid it on the line that this is, the military isn't your social experiment. The military isn't a jobs program. The military isn't where you go if you fail at everything else. The military is an institution that is going to be seeking exceptional people. Exceptional people. And he aims to improve the treatment of said exceptional people. Gone are going to be the investigations into non-woke compliance. He got rid of, what, three days ago, four days ago. He got rid of the women's, this women's oversight committee that put everything through the sausage-making factory of feminism. You want to know why we had pregnant flight suits? It was because of this idiotic division that had been established to suck up to the feminist contingent that already hates the military. So he's essentially said the military is a lethal fighting force.
It's what its intention is. It's here to protect the United States. It's here to protect the homeland and our allies and our interests. And climate change politics and trans politics and body positivity, that ain't going to be what the military is about any longer. Can you imagine we let it get to that point, though? We let it get to that point. Where it was the number one employer of, of, you know, mentally ill men in dresses, mentally ill transvestites. It was the number one employer of mentally ill transvestites until it wasn't. We let it get to that point. We let it get to the point where a bunch of women who hate the United States decided that the most important thing the military should be doing is finding ways to make women comfortable during their menstrual cycles in combat and designing pregnant flight suits. We let it get to that place. We let it get to the place where the generals were assigning reading about white privilege. We let it get to that place where it became an experiment in diversity, equity, and inclusion. So Pete Hegseth said, and I'm not sure what Trump is saying, because again, I have it on mute. He's speaking right now. But that was the opener. Was Pete Hegseth. No more beards or long hair. Weak men and women will not. will not qualify any longer. No more fat generals, no more dudes and dresses, no more climate change politics, no more woke. We are done with that blank. That's why I love this guy. Instead of running to the television cameras and the microphones to talk smack, Pete Hegseth just gets stuff done. Just get stuff done. That's why I like Robert F. Kennedy Jr.. Just getting stuff done. So I like, you know, the people who are putting their heads down, Chris Wright, Scott Bessent, Lee Zeldin. They're just getting stuff done. Pam Bondi would do well to spend less time mugging for the camera and more time getting stuff done. Same goes for Kash Patel. Just get stuff done. We don't need to hear from you all the time. Kristi Noem. Get stuff done. But for Tom Homan, I'm not sure we would be. All right. We're going to take a break in the Vicki McKenna show. Let's talk about the consultants. They don't read the room very well. They never do. The consultants in Wisconsin, I'm telling you, the consultants in Wisconsin are part of the strategy that some years ago had our Wisconsin Republican legislature take a step off conservative. and take a step toward moderation. It's consultants. They don't read the room well. We'll take a quick break. Matt Kittle from the Federalist is going to join me in just a moment. I'll be right back. We are back. Welcome back to the program. Don't forget your word to win this hour in our fall fortune nationwide cash contest. Make sure you check in.
check in on the words the contest words you don't miss a contest word it's always important to check in on those words wink wink all right matt kiddle standing by on the middleton fort hotline middleton ford family owned and your good neighbor ford dealership for nearly seventy five years how you doing I am okay. How about you? You're okay. Okay is one of those answers that, you know, either you ask, are you sure you're doing all right? But then again, as the old man would say, I'm... Fair to Midland. Fair to Midland. You know, it's one of those, you know, answers, though. You can either choose to dig in or choose to move past it. So with all due respect, Matt, I'm going to have to move past it. I've got enough problems, man. Forget it. Dude. The Federalist.com is where you can find Matt's pieces. And there's a few before this one that we wanted to get into, which is the consultant's failure to read the room here in Wisconsin. Before we get to that. There was the founder, co-founder of Wikipedia was on the Tucker Carlson podcast and explicitly detailed that your publication, the Federalist, is not permitted to be a source for Wikipedia articles. I don't know if you happen to see that, not permitted. You are blacklisted. And you can actually go look up the blacklist, but you are blacklisted along with Fox News, New York Post. I mean, you're in good company, but you're blacklisted from being used as a source on Wikipedia. And yet routinely the federalist does unique investigative journalism, you can find nowhere else. Isn't that something? But it's not surprising. And, you know, for those, and that just drives home the point, for those who believe that the censorship era of the Biden years is over, think again. Yeah, think again. ADL and SLPC. SLPC and ADL are both considered green-lit sources. Southern Poverty Law Center, a hate group, and ADL, which is basically the Jewish version of the Southern Poverty Law Center, are both trusted sources. Both trusted sources. So, but not federalists. So understand that. You're, well, we'll get to maybe some back to it. But I wanted to also touch on the Des Moines superintendent.
who has been discovered to have been an illegal alien, fugitive illegal alien who also is registered to vote in a different state and apparently has voted during his tenure as the $270,000 per year compensated superintendent. You want to just jump in on that since you guys are just starting to flesh out this story? Yeah, this was a shocker because, as you know, I'm in the area. And so I get the news that broke last week and everybody is going, why is this happening? I mean, this guy, I'm not kidding about this. In Des Moines, in the Des Moines School District, he was deified. But he was also hired without apparently some proper checks and vetting because it turns out that Superintendent Ian John Roberts was indeed an illegal alien. And when they arrested him, they found $3,000 a blade and a Glock on him as he fled from ICE authorities. Yeah, it's troubling. And it's Iowa. It's Iowa. It's Iowa. That's right. So Iowa's conservative. Iowa is kind of rational. I was one of the states that if you're in the Midwest and, you know, and things go sideways in Wisconsin, that some people are thinking, geez, I can just bump across the border into Iowa. And I can still easily see my family. It only take me two hours to drive there. So what in the heck is going on in Iowa when apparently it doesn't, I guess it doesn't really matter if you've got conservative governance, if you've got a largely red state. This stuff still happens. Yes. Well, this is Des Moines. It's like when Wisconsin used to be sane, and Wisconsin, for the most part, is sane, but Wisconsin still has Madison. Wisconsin still has Milwaukee, and Wisconsin has a lot of these types of communities that want to push and push and push diversity, equity, and inclusion at the absolute price of... solid education of, you know, our children's future. I mean, at the same time that this guy was arrested just a day before the Des Moines Register had an article about how Des Moines is failing. It's school of children. That sounds familiar, Madison, Milwaukee? Yeah.
Their test scores are horrible. Their test scores are horrible. The most important thing was to hire an illegal alien. I don't know if they did vetting or didn't do vetting. I don't think they much care. They probably knew he was not in the country legally. You know, you're submitting your employment information. One of the things you submit way, way, way back is proof that you're actually legal to work in the United States. Apparently Des Moines didn't much care about that. But they didn't read the room, right? So, you know, when you've got the entire country. talking about the problem of illegal immigration, taking jobs away from Americans, creating crises, et cetera. You know, and you look to hide. And by the way, the response from the Des Moines School District was to say, now let's just be nice. We can't discuss this because it's a personal matter. Let's just be nice. Failure to read the room. Which kind of gets me to Wisconsin. It's not on point, but it's a failure to read the room thing. You have the consultants in Wisconsin. These are the GOP consultants in Wisconsin. The GOP consultants in Wisconsin said what we really need is a guy who is into trans porn and kink, a guy who is on two that we can find different lobby groups pushing ranked choice voting. in Wisconsin. And, you know, the, the candidacy collapsed because of the expose on him vibing on, you know, dudes who do, you know, weird things in dresses with other dudes. But that was what they thought they could sell to the idiots who, who that's what they must think of us, who are going to the polls to select a Republican standard bearer. Yeah, and we've been down this road before over the last several years in the state of Wisconsin, of course. But you're right. I mean, this Bill Berrien. is a guy who, for a lot of grassroots, conservatives in Wisconsin, and I talked to many of them. He didn't pass the smell test right away. This is a guy, by the way, who in January was on record lobbying for ranked choice voting. And that's why I want to drive home. And that's what I wrote in my piece. You know, yeah, this guy is liking, you know. trans porn and these, you know, crazy sex sites. But I think the more dangerous element here is how much he's embraced a system that squeezes out actual conservatives and elects left-leaning Republicans.
That is a dangerous state. And he was pushing that in the state of the state. Left-leaning everybody. And we've got a bill. He's not the only one. We've got a bill that had been sponsored when he was lobbying for it. In fact, there were two pieces of legislation. One was beaten back a couple of years ago. Another one popped up a year or two ago. And they were beaten back. But the lobbyists. We're being recruited by GOP consultants, the same people who bring you candidacies of, you know, complete, completely inappropriate candidates like this. I mean, these are the people who pick. They sit down in a back room and they decide, you know, who's somebody they can sell. And so the same consultants that brought us this inane candidacy are the same consultants that being. On the Republican side for ranked choice voting, and now we just had the Democrats introduce it again. The GOP isn't dumb enough in an election year to do that. But you did have the Republican leadership back really bad election bills because, again, the consultants are saying hardcore conservatives, you know, tack toward the center. People want moderation. And that's what we've been dealing with for the last 10 years in our state. It is, and it's a, it's a principled area to be. That's what the consultants have pushed, and that's what, you know, the party elite has pushed, and what is it gotten us? It has gotten an absolute failure. Wisconsinites know something about standing on principles. And that's what voters want. And this time, people are deciding, do they want the insanity of Madison or do they want reason? Do they want a sense of safety in their communities, a real safety in their communities? And that's what is on the line. So they keep pushing these milk toast rhinos and they keep losing. And that's the definition of insanity right there. Yeah, the thing is, and they keep pushing Republicans to behave like milk toast rhinos. That's what's truly frustrating. Because the same consultancy class, remember, are also lobbyists. These people tend to be dual, you know, dual use. Lobbyists and they consult campaigns. So the same lobbyists who are bringing us candidates like Bill Barion. are the same lobbyists that are signing up to lobby against wedding barns for the tavern league or signing up to lobby for gas tax increases for the road builders or signing up to lobby for rank choice voting that it's been this way for ten years and i don't know what shifted
It was probably the John Doe, because what, and I'm trying to make people understand this, what the John Doe investigations did besides obliterate the very concept of free speech and bring back the illegal unconstitutional general warrant was destroy the conservative network in Wisconsin. And I think once the network was gone, the sort of conservative. activist network that was so powerful here was gone. And it was obliterated. There were, I don't know, six, seven, eight powerful organizations that just had to, you know, go back into the shadows. And they were left to their own devices. And to their own devices, you know, people in power tend to, to act to try to increase their power, not ours. That's absolutely right. And that, I mean, that's the bottom line. That's what we've seen over the last decade in the state. in an era of Donald Trump, a guy who is... putting needs of his country above, you know, him, his own politics. And obviously he's a policy. He has to grab, you know, support for these sorts of things. But he does things because he believes they're the right thing to do. We don't necessarily have that. We have people, consultants in Madison. and those who are, you know, influenced by them doing things for themselves for the status quo. And the status quo is simply not tenable. Oh, the status quo in this state is going to get us another, it's going to get us a lunatic elected as governor. It's going to get a Democrat elected as governor if we keep doing this stuff. There isn't principal, I mean, individual legislators, notwithstanding. There are some very good individual legislators, but there is not, you know, we're not acting broadly with principle, with courage. I mean, this last budget is a classic example, or maybe the budget before that where, you know, Milwaukee got a whole bunch of extra shared revenue and the ability to increase sales taxes and what do they do with it? They gave themselves raises. They gave themselves raises. You know, and now you've got Republicans complaining that they gave themselves raises. We told you they were going to do that. But see, everybody wants to play that moderate game. And I don't know when the last, when was the last time, you know, moderate, you know, not committing to anything strong, not standing on courage, not being exacting in your demands. When was the last time that worked out for Republicans? Well, the days of moderation are over. And for those who would like a return to those quaint days in politics.
Yeah, you know, that would be nice and peaceful. But we are in a political war. We're in a political war for the next generation of the state of Wisconsin, the next generation of this republic. And so you want to keep pushing moderates. Moderates lose. And even if you get them in office, you lose. Exactly true. Because what moderates do in office is they compromise with the left. And every time you compromise with the left, you ratchet freedom in the wrong direction. When Scott Walker went from a conservative Tea Party candidate to more centrist, he lost. Good guy and conservative. But he was told that he needed to moderate because of all of that courage that the legislature and he showed during the reform era of his first two years. When he decided that he was going to look toward the center is the moment. It became very, it just became difficult for him because the requirement was to compromise and the way Republicans compromise with Democrats is through lobbyists. And that's when we became a lobbyist state. And that's how we've been. And it does not, it's not going to help us in our efforts to try to get a statewide Republican elected. Check out thefederalist.com, despite what the left-wing propagandists at Wikipedia say, the reporting is sourced. The reporting is fact-checked. And it's accurate. So thanks very much for jumping on today. Can I say something, though, if you are getting your information from Wikipedia, you know, that still is an outlet that does not provide well-sourced information. Correct. Yes. Yes. You should have realized this long before we learned that the federalist was blacklisted. Good to have you on the program, Matt. Thanks very much. Anytime. Thank you. And we'll take a break on the Vicki McKenna show.
Welcome back to the program. It's the Vicki McKenna Show. We got a problem in the United States. We've got many problems. We have a serious problem with education. We have a very, very serious problem with teachers in the U.S. Now, I'm exempting if you are one of those teachers out there that my forthcoming description does not... does not include, please exempt yourself. I'm talking about as a group here. And as a group here, the teachers that are controlled almost exclusively by the teachers unions, two very large ones, NEA and AFT, and then other, you know, relatively large ones. In Madison, of course, it's the Madison Teachers Incorporated. Milwaukee. It's MTEA in Chicago at CTA. They're the reason. They're the reason why education sucks, why we have sub 40% of kids overall reading or doing math proficiently. They would rather talk about politics. And so for this next topic, which is about the teachers digging in. Remoting violence. It's not just Charlie Kirk, but that's what the revolutionary violence that seems to be a theme, at least of their teachers' union leadership, and it burrows down into classrooms. isn't going away because we're getting a few teachers suspended or fired. I have Erica Sanzi from Defending Education. It's an organization that stands with parents. It's comprised of parents to try to push back on woke education, on this violent division that is being promoted in American classrooms. She joins me on the Middleton Ford Hotline. Hi, Erica. Hi. Thanks for having me. My pleasure. So when you have Randy Weingarten. who has a book that calls Parents Fascist, when you have the CTA, the Chicago Teachers Association, honoring Asada Shakur, a terrorist convicted a first-degree murder of a police officer and then fleeing to Cuba, when you have the entire Teachers Union agenda saying absolutely nothing about reading, math, you know, making sure kids can actually, you know, know, know their mother tongue and function in society. I guess we shouldn't be that surprised that so many of them were out there cheerleading the assassination of one of the most powerful political and religious leaders we've had in this country in 40 or 50 years. I mean, everything that you said is true about the unions, and I think that a lot of people in the public just don't realize how radical and far left they have become in recent years. But even with all that I know about the unions, and their far left lied into insanity, I still was kind of shocked by the social media posts that we saw appearing on public platforms from teachers around the country. As much as I probably should have known that it was coming, but as a former teacher myself for 10 years, as an NIA member in two states in the past, as a mother of three,
I was despondent over. I was shocked. You know what shocked me, Erica, was that they were so open about it. Yeah. I mean, it was gleeful. Yeah, it wasn't. Again, I obviously would hate knowing that my kids' teachers were celebrating political assassinations and private conversations. But again, that would be different than the... total lack of judgment that we see when they take to these public platforms. And like for me, like this is a question of fitness for the job. And I think that when you somehow find it in your, you know, your moral compass is so broken that you take to public platforms to celebrate and delight in murder. That is disqualifying for somebody who spends their days with other people's children. So I also think it's disqualifying for the organization, the Teachers Union, because that's where this comes from. This is where it comes from. These young people, when they decided to sign up to be teachers, they didn't say, oh, I want to eventually get to a point where I'm so indoctrinated that I cheer on the murder of the people I don't like politically. You know, they didn't go to college to be this way. This happens over time. And when you take a look at the annual convention. orders and you know and and items on the agenda to take up it's small wonder that that we've got people who think this way what's really shocking is they feel so empowered to express themselves that that's really kind of weird i don't get that but that they think this way i think that there is an alarming problem with the ideology of most American teachers. Again, if you're not among this group of people I'm talking about, you're one of those conservative teachers, you know, God bless you because it's hard. But it seems to me that the whack-a-mole approach, get this teacher fired, get that teacher fired, isn't working. We either need massive policy or we need to get rid of the union entirely from the public education system. I mean, the unions have decided that they're going to defend these teachers who, again, it's not that they went online and criticized Charlie Kirk's views or opinion, except they went online and delighted and celebrated in his murder with no regard, by the way, to the trauma that their students and their families had just experienced. And pretty much all middle and high school kids saw this shooting with their own eyes. So with zero appreciation for the loss that people are feeling, and here we have the unions, again, the teachers' unions and the ACLU essentially saying, this is protected speech, and we're going to go to the mat to defend these teachers. And I guess my opinion on that is, well, then let's have that fight. Let's force them to defend the indefensible in a public debate.
so that Americans can get a sense of how insane these unions have become and really reprehensible and what they're willing to defend. And even if my side loses, even if they decide, no, it's protected speech, we can't get rid of them, we will have at least forced them to defend this abhorrence. for the public to see. I agree. And I think there's a serious question of whether or not it is protected speech because they're the government. They're the government. They are paid for with taxpayer dollars. They are employed by the government. So you can say, well, it's on their social media, their personal social media. Do your students have access to your personal social media? Do the parents have access to your personal social media? They sure do. And so when you are an extension, when you're social media and you put, I am a teacher at XYZ school, you have now made your public life part of your government life. That could be very problematic for them. Look, if you're a private school teacher and you do this, And, you know, you get fired. No one's complaining. Why? Because there isn't even a question of whether or not codes of conduct can be imposed. But if you can impose speech restrictions on kids, then abs, and that includes off campus, by the way, with what they say on social media, if they're bullying another child, for example, et cetera. And they are not employees of a school district. Then to say that, you know, the only time you can have this abhorrent behavior is when it's. teachers who are government employees are doing it. I don't know. That's going to be, I think that's going to be a tough one for them. Yeah. I mean, clearly, if they did it in the classroom or if it occurred on any sort of like school district social media accounts, that's a slam dunk. The issue is the personal platform. And I'm kind of with you, right? So generally, just for the audience. Usually there's some sort of a clause in these codes of conduct, which again we probably should look at because they probably don't have nearly enough teeth in them. But you have to be able to show that it disrupted the learning environment. And so, for example, there's a school in Massachusetts where... Teacher made some horrific video right after Charlie Kirk was murdered. Students and families were absolutely livid. And I think after a couple days when she still wasn't gone, 700 kids were absent on the same day as a protest at that high school. So clearly that district could say this is causing a huge disruption. to the school district. So, again, I think they didn't have to be able to make that case. Now, I, of course, would argue that I don't care about any of that because to me, the lack of fitness for the job is top of mind for me, the idea that you're going to ask parents. Because, again, this is a compulsory education system.
We don't let families choose. We assign their schools based on their residential address. So it's not an exaggeration to say that they are now trapped in schools with educators who celebrate murder in public. And I don't know how you ask a parent or expect a parent. who finds that reprehensible to send their children back into the classroom with that person. I agree with you. And so that's not even a speech question. The speech question itself, I think, is going to be dicey for them. This is a question of whether they're morally fit to be educators. Are you morally fit? You've just told us. And let's just put aside for a second. Charlie Kirk. Okay. Let's say it's Martin Luther King Day. And a teacher who is an irredeemable anti-black bigot decides to cheer on the death, good riddance to someone like Martin Luther King. What do you think might happen to that teacher? whether it was on their own personal social media account or not, they would say you are unfit, you're morally unfit, you have students in your classroom that you hate, and now we know that you hate them, you are now unfit, unsuitable to be in a classroom, sort of a pluralistic condition. So goodbye. Here are your walking papers. They would, nobody would complain. Nobody, not the teachers, you wouldn't stand up and defend that person. The ACLU wouldn't stand up and defend that person. It's the same thing that we're talking about here. When you have decided to show the world that you are morally bankrupt and you are in charge of children, their safety, their education, et cetera, it's a moral question on that one. But I want to get back to the teachers, how did it get? I don't know how old you are. How did it get to the point where 90% of teachers believe this Marxist, neo-Marxist, DEI insanity? How did it get to that place where you wake up one day in a purple or a red area of a state and suddenly you find out that your teacher is telling the kid, his mom's a fascist, he's really a girl, etc. So I don't think it's 90% who agree with this. I think it's well over 90% of the leadership in these unions, and I think it's well over 90% of the people involved in teacher preparation and colleges of education. That I think that. I think the rank and file number is much lower than it might seem. But there is no question that this extreme ideology... I mean, when I was in the NEA, so by the way, I'm 52 to give people a sense. So I'm like Gen X. And so I can certainly say that a lot of Gen X teachers, they're not down with any of this. Because, again, their teacher prep didn't look like this. This is sort of new. So, yeah, they used to send me glossy mailers and tell me to vote for Howard Key.
But there was none of this ideological stuff around sexual orientation and gender and calling everybody a fascist and telling me what I have to think about climate justice and all of this sort of, again, it's just deeply ideological and deeply leftist. And yes, to use a word, your word, Marxist. But what we have now is aspiring teachers go into these teacher colleges. And we, my organization, has looked into and done reports on what the content in those teacher prep programs looks like. And it looks a lot like the same garbage that we're seeing coming out of the teacher union leadership and coming out of these school districts and coming out of the mouths of teachers who think it's. appropriate to again celebrate in the assassination of somebody with whom they think they disagree, although they are wildly ignorant about. to begin with. Right. I agree. And that's a problem. And again, it doesn't, you get rid of the teachers union. I definitely think accreditation has got to be looked at. But we don't have state legislators interested in doing that. It's certainly not in Wisconsin. I wish we did. Defendinged.org is where you can participate. You can get assistance if you're a parent or you're someone who is a relative or you're just a passionate person about education. Defending ed.org. Erica, I'm GenX too, so I'm glad to hear you say that. And it makes me feel a little bit better that people over the age of 50 aren't completely insane. Erica Sanzi from parents defending education, defending ed.org. Thank you very much. Thank you for having me. Good to have you. And we'll take a break. Thanks, Middleton Ford, for sponsoring our hotline. Get rid of the teachers' union. That goes quite a ways to solve the problem of accreditation materials in college because they're the ones determining what those are going to be. And then start looking seriously at the teacher training and the teacher licensing and the teacher accreditation in our state, which is what Ryan Walters did in Oklahoma. And it has begun to pay dividends. There are ways to do this if we care. We'll be right back.
Well, this will not surprise you. Senator Ron Johnson's attempt to get his Eliminate Shutdowns Act passed did not succeed. It did not succeed. So we're shutting down the government. Democrats are trying to extort us for a little over $1.5 trillion just to keep the government open for a few weeks. Nancy Pelosi in response to President Trump's refusal to do that, to accept that as a deal, was profane. Far more profane than Pete Hegseth was. Pete Hegseth's profanity was minor. Far more profane than Pete Hegseth's was at the address of the generals. Nancy Pelosi said, Go F yourselves. That's what she said. Yeah, but she actually said the F word. You know, a little old lady swearing, the Nancy Pelosi edition, especially because she slurs when she does it. I mean, she just sounds like a crass, low rent, drunk old bag. Just saying. You know, for somebody who managed to parlay insider information to incredible investment portfolio presence, it's pretty awful. But that was the, that was the, the Democrats response. Go after yourself. Okay. So you had an opportunity to not shut down the government. Do you. have an opportunity to just pass a clean CR, but no, extortion is what we're dealing with here. So what do they want? And we'll get into a little bit more on this coming up. Well, is Ron Johnson detailed on the program yesterday, they want an extension of Obamacare subsidies that were increased so that people making, sit down, $500,000 a year can get government subsidies for their health insurance, $500,000 a year. You know what that's done? That's made all of us who pay taxes have to pay more to foot the bill so that people making $500,000 a year can have Obamacare subsidies. That's what? What is that done to our insurance? Well, anyone who doesn't qualify for an Obamacare subsidies paying more. Anybody who hasn't applied for an Obamacare subsidies paying more. It's like when you subsidize student lending, what does it make the colleges do? They charge more. It's exactly the same thing that's happening with insurance companies. So that's one thing. They want an extension of that. Second thing, they want free health care for illegal aliens. I mean, you talk about not reading the room free health care for illegal aliens.
They're willing to shut down the government, shut down the government, which really isn't a shutdown. It's just a paid vacation so that they can extort Republicans into free health care for illegal aliens. Free. So Obamacare subsidies, you still got to pay, and not somebody else is going to pay part of your freight, up to $500,000. But illegal aliens, free. This is the stuff. Look, I don't even care to put this in the context of D versus R electoral horse race things. It's a middle finger to all of us, to Democrats, to Republicans. Why would you extort? taxpayer resources for illegal aliens. Why would you do that? You know, if we could actually say, imagine how this poll might go, because we can't divorce this from D versus our horse race politics. You ask Democrats, get a hundred of them, and say, you know what Donald Trump just recommended? He recommended extending free health care for illegal aliens. How do you think they'd respond to that? Do you agree with President Trump extending free health care for illegal aliens and wanting to expand free health care for illegal aliens? Now, some of the hard courts would be like, yeah, it's the only thing he's ever done that I agree with. 90% of them would say, no, what a crazy idea. That's what the Democrats want. This is not a government anymore. We're just, we're useful tools. We're pawns. We're being played in a really aggravating endless game that has already bored most of us. We're being played as pieces on a game board. And what's the prize? What's the prize? Well, we don't win anything, okay? We get nothing. We get debt, a debt crisis. We get a collapse of our system. We get a collapse of our cohesion. We get to hate our neighbors. We get to worry about political assassinations and our neighbors thinking we're fascists and wanting us dead. You know, that's what we get? What do they get? Inside our stock tips and $174,000 a year plus a pension. That's what they get. Well, free trips. They get free trips wherever they want to go. So free travel to wherever they want to go, $174,000 a year in base salary compensation, a pension, and insider stock tips. Money. That's what they get. It doesn't matter to Hakeem Jeffries or Chuck Schumer or Nancy Pelosi. If the Democrats win, they don't want to do anything good for America. It doesn't matter. And quite frankly, it doesn't matter on the Republican side as well. You know, Mike Johnson gets to stay in charge of a majority, but we're still stuck with Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski and John Thune and John Cornyn. They don't really care. They get inside our stock tips, free travel, $174,000 a year in salary, a pension. That's it. We, the game pieces, we just get to suck wind. We'll be right back.
Welcome back to the program. It's the Vicki McKenna Show. So now we have the Senate targeting Blue City Crime. I've just looked up at my Fox News. Look, the Senate is going to do exactly nothing about Blue City crime. The United States Senate will do nothing about Blue City crime. The United States Senate couldn't not. shut down the government. They couldn't just stop that from happening. They're not going to solve the problem of entrenched progressive ideology that is turning urban America into demilitarized zones. It's just not going to happen. I don't know why they're doing it. I mean, I think it's great to give people voice, but. I just look up and I say, you've got other problems you need to be solving and you don't seem to want to solve the important ones. All right. And you're not going to solve the ones you can't solve. So I wanted to get to this story that Sean Fleetwood did a couple of days ago on more of the foreign billionaire influence in the United States. I think we say George Soros, George Soros, George Soros, way too much. George Soros is important. Alex Soros is now very important. There are so many of these people pouring influence into the United States from outside U.S. borders that it shocks me. Here's one that you need to know. His name's Christopher Hahn. Sean Fleetwood from the Federalist is standing by in the Middleton Ford Hotline. Because of your article, I decided to see... Just for the top four what we're talking about in terms of influence, Sean. And we're at $6 to $9 billion in foreign influence since 2016 from these four people. Billion dollars. Who's Christopher Hahn? I mean, that's a new one to me. Yeah, it was definitely a new one to meet, too, in this report that came out last week from Americans for Public Trust. So I want to give them the hat tip because they're the ones who really blew the whistle on this. But they put out this bombshell report about Chris Fawn, who is a British national. He's a hedge fund manager and this, you know, makes himself out to be this billionaire philanthropist. Well, as it turns out through his nonprofit organization called the Children's Investment Fund Foundation, really over roughly the past 10 years or so, he's given over $500 million into United States-based organizations to bankroll several left-wing advocacy groups and causes, most notably in the radical environmentalism sector. One of the groups that he's been backing is a group called Extinction Rebellion, which sounds really nice on its face, right? And it's also called XR. And basically, this is a group that's been engaged in some pretty vitriolic demonstrations. Several of their members have been arrested in places like Washington, D.C., in New York City. They make themselves out to be this group that is trying to halt, quote, mass extinction and minimize the risk of social collapse, you know, as they perceive it to be related to so-called climate change.
But those are the types of groups that this guy is backing, which really begs the question, why is this even being allowed in the first place? Why are these foreign billionaires being allowed to exert their influence and basically try and manipulate the U.S. electorate through these groups, which, as we've seen, you know, with left-wing violence in recent weeks and recent years, I mean, it's just causing havoc and causing chaos and confusion and fear among the American people. And it looks like he's acting on behalf of China as well. The analysis, I'm going to quote from your article, the analysis goes on to note how children's investment fund and its work have been overseen by Chinese governmental ministry since being designated an NGO in China and has given millions to various organizations directly under the auspices of the Chinese government, including the National Renewable Energy Center, Foreign Environmental Cooperation Center, Shinghua University. which conducts energy and military research. So it sounds like he's acting on behalf of China. And he's the, what, third, second or third largest foreign billionaire to contribute to political causes in the United States via this NGO network. Yeah, that's absolutely right. And as noted in the APT report, there's also this billionaire, he's a Swiss billionaire called Hans Jorg Beast, who poured millions of dollars into what's known as the Arabella Advisors Network, which is basically this left-wing dark money network that oversees these various nonprofits and organizations that have been helping bankroll, not just left-wing groups and causes, but specific left-wing groups and causes that are trying to amend and pass. specific left-wing constitutional amendments in states across the country. So you've had what's called the 1630 Fund, one of these Arabella groups, that has taken money from, that has received money, rather, from a hundred or visas group. And this 1630 fund is given millions of dollars. to these ballot amendments measures, pushing things like abortion and ranked choice voting and certain environmental amendments. So they're not just backing left-wing demonstrations and protests. They're actively trying to change the constitutions and laws in the United States. And this is all being done under the umbrella of these foreign billionaires like Hans York East. and now seemingly Christopher Hahn as well. Christopher Hahn, who seems to be kind of the, you know, the Beijing, you know, go-between on left-wing. energy NGOs. That's what it seems to me. Hans-Yorg Vise is, you know, it's the boulea-base. It's the pick-a-mix of left-wing policy, everything from trans to abortion to environmentalism. Then you've got, you've got Neville Singham. He's actually a U.S. citizen, but he's based in Beijing doing the same thing, funneling dollars into NGOs that are promoting Beijing's interests. And then you've got George Soros, who is not a U.S. citizen, but his son is.
is. And so, you know, the solution to say, well, we just won't allow NGOs that have any foreign money to be involved, you know, to be designated, you know, 501C3s in the United States. They've got U.S. connections. So are you going to tell a U.S. citizen, even though he lives in China, he's not a U.S. citizen anymore? You're going to have to do that, right? Are you going to try to take away Alex Soros' citizenship? It's a problem, Sean, that we don't seem to really be. systematic in addressing or even investigating. I mean, we got to wait for private groups to expose this stuff when our government, our IRS, our Department of Justice, our Secret Service should already be looking into this. Department of Homeland Security. Oh, 100%. And I think that this kind of, as it relates to what we've been seeing with leftist violence and these groups like Antifa and other left-wing agitators, it's this broad network that is expanding, not just across the United States, but across the globe. It's interconnected web of left-wing activism, NGOs, nonprofits that are seemingly working as one kind of locomotive here to push. this globalist left-wing agenda, not just here in the United States, but in other places as we've seen in Europe and elsewhere. But yeah, absolutely it falls upon, you know, the Trump administration to really crack down on this. I certainly don't envy them because it's such a vast and complex issue. But the idea that this can be allowed to continue, you're not going to survive as a country when you have something this. I mean, to be quite frankly, evil that is going on, that is pushing this evil ideology, this evil agenda. And, you know, that also falls upon Republican-led states as well to crack down on this where they can. We've had some states in the past few years that have passed legislation banning foreign funding of ballot measures and things like that. But that's just the tip of the iceberg. I mean, you need to be using every amount of resource. state Republican attorney generals, every avenue that you can find to legally go after these people and put them behind bars. Because the idea that this can be allowed to continue, it just can't at this point. Well, and you've got to go after the laundering operations as well. So Arabella, the way you get someone like Christopher Hahn or Hans-Yorg Vise or, you know, Neville Singham, who, by the way, is laundering money and assisting. Antifa. This is an American citizen in Beijing pushing pro-China policy. His wife is the head of Code Pink. the Marxist group, the radical direct action, Marxist group has been around for a long time. You've got to go after the laundering operation. So if you can take apart the laundering operation, I mean, I don't think that's much more than, you know, making sure you have full transparency. Because these are what are called dark money groups. Remember when the left used to complain about dark money groups? Well, they have taken advantage of the dark money loopholes. Close those loopholes and begin by investigating Arabella.
That's the laundering operation. That's the consultancy that takes all the dollars and then redirects them into, you know, whatever needs are there, whether it's some local Antifa group or the lawyers group that defends these guys or some human rights campaign overseen trans promotion for teacher training, whatever. It seems to me that everything changes if we can get our arms around the money. Oh, yeah, I 100% agree with that. And kind of on a positive note, I think you're starting to maybe see this with Act Blue, right? This Democrat left-wing donor website, which I know Congressman Brian Stile from your state, Wisconsin has been looking into, I think the Trump administration is now probing this as well, the DOJ. This idea that they have had these lax donor verification rules where, you know, you could have millions to potentially billions of foreign dollars. coming into Act Blue that is helping bankroll left-wing Democrat campaigns and organizations. That's being investigated right now. And you're starting to see some of the panic. I know the New York Times and others have put out pieces, kind of documenting the panic among Act Blue executives and employees about the probe and, you know, kind of jumping and abandoning ship now. So hopefully that will lead to some prosecutions and we'll get some answers on that front about what's happening. But absolutely, you have to go out. and take down these middlemen that are actively helping fund essentially the destruction of the United States and pushing these extreme radical policies and funding these, you know, seemingly violent and destructive organizations that are causing chaos throughout the country. Yeah, Act Blue's scam was to take massive amounts of foreign money and launder it through, you know, prepaid credit cards that did not require CVV verification. Then they would steal people's identities and they would make donations. legal donations, the legal limit of those donations, in the names of people who had no idea, they were making political contributions. That was, Act Blue was a direct taking the money laundering, which was what was supposed to be 501C3 money, into political campaigns. And it's illegal. It's just flat out illegal. I mean, you talk about campaign finance violations on steroids. That's Act Blue. You know, no doubt they were, they were. protected by not just the Arabella laundering operation, but also with the assistance of big law. We could go on and on and on. This rabbit hole goes deep. You've got another piece. Federalist does. I shouldn't say you. A colleague of yours has another piece on Federalists related to this. this NGO industrial complex talking about voter participation center, the Everybody Votes Campaign. Again, the left-wing dollars being laundered into so-called nonpartisan get-out-the-vote efforts, it's got to stop. And now we've got a new player, some British billionaire who seems to think it's okay to put people in prison for Facebook posts. Yeah, 100%. And you mentioned the nonprofit voter reg. I think that that's a huge area that the Trump administration definitely needs to go after, especially the IRS. Under IRS rules, it is unlawful and illegal for 501C3s to conduct partisan get out-the-vote registration. But what these groups will often do is they will say, well, we're going to target so-called disenfranchised groups.
non-white voters, unmarried women, basically demographics that they know are going to vote for, likely to vote for the Democrat Party. And so I think that that's a major avenue that has not really been focused on by the Trump administration, at least that we're publicly aware of. But I think they absolutely need to hammer it home. And I think that that will do a tremendous damage. to how the left has conducted elections and breaking apart this election machine and laundering, you know, election data, voter data to advantage their party in any way that they can. By the way, both of these articles that we are referencing here, the one by Sean Fleetwood, who's my guest on the phone, on the British billionaire Christopher Hahn, and on the nonpartisan, so-called nonpartisan get out the vote NGOs that are also part of this laundering system, both on the front page of the Federalist.com today. So really easy. I would suggest reading these, bookmarking them so that you have a reference. And I put some of this stuff into the AI chatbots, people, because then you're going to get real dollars and cents, which is what I did when I put in Vice, Singham, Hahn, Soros, and the others. I mean, that's, and I had no doubt a conservative estimate of $6 to $9 billion since 2016. Thank you so much for joining me, Sean. Your work is excellent at the Federalist, and I appreciate it. Thanks so much, Vicki. God bless. And we'll take a break on the Vicki McKenna Show again. Both of these articles are on the front page. Take down the NGO industrial complex is the title of one. And the other one is meet the British billionaire bankrolling leftist causes. We'll be right back. For crying out loud on this shutdown. Hello. If you don't give a darn about the United States, you only care about keeping your $174,000 a year job with public benefits and access to insider stock tips that makes you fabulously wealthy beyond your wildest imagination plus the free travel. If that's all you care about, then Hakeem Jeffries and Chuck Schumer make a lot of sense. Okay? They're just going for it. They don't really care. They don't care what happens to us. They don't care if they lose. They don't care. If nobody cares except about. Getting their own stuff. Well, that's where we are. I want to just read, if I may, from President Trump's post on this. from a couple of days ago. After reviewing the details of the unsurious and ridiculous demands made by the minority radical left Democrats in return for their votes and keeping our thriving country open, I have decided that no meeting with their congressional leaders could possibly be productive. They're threatening to shut down the government of the United States so that they can have over $1 trillion in new spending to continue free health care for illegal aliens, forced taxpayers to fund transgender surgery for minors, have dead people on the Medicaid rolls, allow illegal alien criminals to steal billions. of dollars in American taxpayer benefits, try to force our country to again open our borders to criminals and to the world, allow men to play in women's sports, and essentially create transgender operations for everybody. Well.
I'm just going with, no, that's a non-starter. Kurt Couchman, Americans for Prosperity, you know that they meant that to be a non-starter, right? This is all a political game. But it's real because our debt, our deficit, our responsibility to keep this totally inadequate government going is what's really important. Good to have you from Americans for Prosperity. Hey, Vicki. Thanks for having me on. Yeah, you're right. It is the game that's being played. It's a dangerous game. We do have this debt burden that is already slowing economic growth and opportunity. If we don't get it under control, then we could risk a financial crisis. It's not just an economic problem, but also a domestic and national security problem. So we've got to get serious about fixing the budget, and playing games with government funding doesn't get us there. I wish that... You know, shutdown brinkmanship helped weed out some of the nonsense that the federal government does, but unfortunately it doesn't. And right now, Democrats are trying to use it to actually massively increase spending on a bunch of low-value stuff. So it's a mess. We're going to have a shutdown at midnight tonight, and how long it lasts? Nobody knows. Nobody knows, but it really isn't a shutdown. Government employees still get paid. Now, what is the status of Russ Vought and OMB looking at utilizing the shutdown to cast off dead weight, at least with regard to federal employment? Yeah, the executive branch has been looking carefully at a whole number of different programs, Director of Vote, who's the head of the White House Budget Office, has been aggressive at looking for efficiencies, and that's all great. He sent out a memo to agencies a couple of days ago saying that they should look at permanent reductions enforced, so that means reducing the number of employees. And it's really up to agencies to determine how best to do that, which employees will let go, and that sort of thing. Whether that will stick is a question that is probably going to end up in the courts, and so we'll have to see how that goes. But it is great to see that we have a White House that is looking for leaning out the federal government and moving it back towards its constitutionally appropriate roles. So the idea is to use, if the Democrats want to shut down the government, fine, over health care for illegal aliens, big middle finger, Nancy Pelosi, dropping F bombs, you know, which is really distasteful, especially when you're drunk in the morning and you slur when you do it. But using the shutdown as an opportunity to at least impose some permanent reductions in the workforce. That would, again, with an eye toward it will be a court battle, but still that's smart. That's actually trying to take advantage of some of the idiocy. But here's the thing. You say it would be great if shut down brinkmanship actually produce something good for us, right? We are in control of the Senate, the Republicans. Republicans are in control of the House. And Donald Trump is the president of the United States. And yet, why does it seem to me that the Republicans are probably going to do a deal and increase spending?
Well, because under current Senate rules, it takes 60 votes to pass legislation, so it'll take 60 votes to end the shutdown. And that means that at least seven Democrats have to be on board as long as all Republicans stick together. So that's the math. We can change the game. That requires changes the statute, changes the rules. One of the things that would be helpful is just taking shutdowns off the table. Wisconsin Senator Ron Johnson put forward a bill to do just that. On the floor last night, unfortunately it didn't pass. But that's what the state of Wisconsin does, and it works out really, really well for the legislature. Your speakers talked about. how it has really made it better for the legislature when to do a budget negotiations with the governor. So that would make sense for Congress as well. Another thing that Wisconsin does incredibly well is to have a real budget with everything in it, and that's not at all what Congress does, but it would help them a lot to do something like that, too. Right. We have no idea. By the way, the legislature didn't even know what was in the budget, even though it's available until McIver Institute provided them an Excel spreadsheet this year. Of course, that was too late for anything to happen. But we can, if we want to, just not pass a budget in Wisconsin, and nothing shuts down. That's the idea of the No Government Shutdowns Act. You just don't increase spending. Everything can, you know, it just goes on. as it always did. Ron Johnson failed in attempting to do that. It's time, I think, to start aggressively looking at rules, at the rules that govern the Senate and see where you can work within those rules to start making it a lot harder to do this kind of garbage. It should be a requirement that there is a deal done. And that shutting down, quote, shutting down the government. I'm going to call it giving people for a day to maybe four-week paid vacations. It's just not something we should abide as American taxpayers. I don't know how it got to this point. I blame Mitch McConnell because I blame him for most everything. But here we are, where this is just the way of the world. It's the way of the world. We haven't had real budgeting since 1996, 1997, something like that. I mean, it's all for political gamesmanship and for media points scoring. But it leaves the rest of us just back down here going, oh, so you're going to increase spending again? And what am I going to get out of it? A bigger tax bill? I got you. Okay. Yeah, Congress has actually never done a budget. A budget is all spending, all revenue, and one bill. And they do appropriations kind of more or less every year. That's what we're fighting about right now. Twelve bills, collectively, they're a quarter of spending, none of the revenue, none of the autopilot direct spending program. Like only 12% of federal health care subsidies go through the appropriations process. And so no wonder it's a mess. The budget, of course, but also all these programs that don't.
get managed ever by Congress in any kind of coherent way. So that's a really important part of the fix. In terms of where shutdowns came from, the Carter administration just made them up in 1979, 1980. And it's been a scourge. It's been a real problem in terms of the congressional incentives ever since. We're in this doom loop of shutdown brinksmanship. And it's not helpful. But to get to a better place, we have to be thinking beyond just preventing shutdowns, although we should do that. And think about the other ways of the process. screwed up. We need a balanced budget amendment to the Constitution, and we need the implementing legislation. We need the Senate to work more than three days a week. You know, there's any number of things we need to do. Yeah, I agree. They're making an awful lot of money working three days a week. And again, insider stock tips, free travel, cool stuff like that. 75% of federal spending is not something we even can control. Think about that. Right. How to play out of mind. I mean, people don't, I don't know if people really understand this, even though Ron Johnson's been saying it since he was elected in 2011. 75% of federal spending is not within Congress's control. They have abdicated control over that spending and refuse to take control of that submitting. They could, they won't. And so, you know, we're fighting over a quarter of the budget. We're not fighting. So the government won't shut down. You're getting your social security checks, et cetera. But this is, we're fighting over this small portion of the budget, which is where the Democrats are looking to ram an extra $1 trillion in spending for four weeks. That's their deal for four weeks, and then we get another. But that's what they're telling President Trump they want with all of this, you know, basically undoing the Trump agenda. Yeah, that's not serious. No, it's not serious. So the brinksmanship only ends if we pass a balanced budget amendment. Is that kind of where we're at? The brinkmanship ends when we pass a balanced budget amendment, and that catalyzes Congress to fix the way that it does budgeting. I mean, all the programs are within Congress's ability to manage. They don't have a regular budget process that empowers them to do that. It's certainly within any reasonable guardrail. on a regular basis. That's what a budget is supposed to be. Look at everything and see how can we do better. How can we stop spending on things that aren't worth doing? But we don't have anything like that in Congress. And so that's why the federal budget is so terrible. Yeah. And by the way, they work three days a week. And one of the days, a significant portion, one of the days, and I'm not against, by the way, giving people a voice and letting them share their story. Fixing Blue City Crime. fixing blue city crime. They can't fix blue city crime. But they spent time on fixing blue city crime. And I mean, like I said, I want to hear from the victims. There was a way to do that. But, you know, that was precious time that could have been spent trying to figure out ways to get her arms around the Medicaid budget.
or the Medicare budget, or the social security budget, or the fraud, or implementing Doge identified potential cuts, or sitting down with Russ Vought, what can we do? How can we help you? What do you need from us? But, you know, it's almost like the show, it's the show is more important. And the show while entertaining and also very interesting, and I was also very moved by the father of the girl who was murdered yesterday. It doesn't do anything. It doesn't produce, like, Blue City Crime's not going down because of that. No new cops are going to get hired because of that. You embarrass a Democrat. That's good. I'm for that. But, you know, maybe we should do something about our looming debt crisis. There are a lot of problems that need to be solved, and the administration is doing a lot of work to try to address them. The truth is that we could get a whole lot more good things done if Congress were seriously in the game working on these things. They've got all these committees, they've got subcommittees where they're supposed to be experts and specialists and be able to focus on things. But if they don't really have an outlet for turning those conversations into law... then there's not really an ability to fix problems. So we've got this shutdown right now. That's going to have to be resolved. But beyond that, we've got to figure out how to get Congress working so it can be a better partner for solving the problem. No one's going to notice the shutdown. You're going to see headlines on the shutdown. If you don't actually read the headlines, you won't even notice it happened. Good to have you on the program. Thanks so much. Thanks for having me. Kurt Couchman from Americans for Prosperity. We're going to take a break on the Vicki McKenna show.
All right, a few seconds left. Coming up in the 2 o'clock hour, we're going to take a look at a leader of the Democratic Party in Wisconsin, who, and I'm quoting, says, I choose violence. I mean, we're down that hole. It's so deep. They can't climb out of it. But we'll get into that on the program, also on the program. Derrick Van Orden is going to join me. We'll talk about states that in order to give illegal aliens driver's licenses are not even bothering to put their names on the license. That's how they're getting around certain restrictions. They're literally not putting names on the licenses so that it is difficult. for an ICE agent, for instance, to run a backgrounder on them. Anyway, we'll get into all of that coming up on the program in the 2 o'clock hour. This is the Vicki McKenna Show. Good afternoon and welcome. It's the Vicki McKenna Show. All right. We're going to get to calls for violence from local Democratic Party leaders. The same local Democratic Party leaders. who are claiming that they care about rhetorical calls for violence to the point where they consider them threats. So we'll get into that. Coming up on the program, Derrick Van Orden as well will join me. Here's your word to win for the 2 p.m. hour in our nationwide fall fortune contest. I saw a woman who posted a TikTok video. I don't have TikTok, so I see TikTok on X. I really should get a TikTok account, just because that's what the kids do. She was probably late 20s, early 30s, and she had posted just today a video about her son, who is a five-year-old autistic boy, nonverbal autistic boy. She said that she was watching the HHS secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.. Marty Makary and President Trump talk about Tylenol and its association with autism. And she said, why are we talking about Tylenol? There's another drug they mentioned. It's called Lou Covran. Luke Covran. She said she'd heard that it had success in a specific subset of nonverbal autistic children. She heard them say that and she said, huh? So she was able to obtain lucovran for her son, nonverbal autistic since he was two years old. He's five. 48 hours after administering lucovran, her son started speaking. Why aren't we talking about that drug? Why aren't we talking about that drug? Is that drug going to work for everybody? No. Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and McCary and everybody else around them said it doesn't work for everybody. But if you have a specific type of neurological injury caused by a specific process, which is a significant number of them, it could help. We're now going to make it available for parents who need it, make prescriptions easy and have them covered by people's insurance. This woman got on it fast, two days, two days. And now her nonverbal son is starting to form words again. He'd been babbling and having being able to string two or three words together when he was two. He was vaccinated. He went nonverbal. And now he is able to start to form words. That's amazing. That's a miracle. It's a miracle. Or is it? Or is it just Lecovran? Maybe we should start talking about that drug. Here's the problem. The same media that has brought you the ignore Trump on Tylenol is the same media that is claiming you shouldn't even try this drug. Well, it's not going to hurt your child. So if your child has a folate receptor problem that has caused a neurological condition, it may help. Anyway, go find this video. It's remarkable, truly remarkable. All right, so here's what's coming up on the program. We have the Democrats are tripling down on their calls for violence. It's just what they're doing. It's a both sides thing. We should lower the temperature, except that they won't. They won't. The cheering of Charlie Kirk's death is not abated. The horrific rhetoric. Calling ICE the Gestapo, the brown shirts, it's not abated. Calling all Republicans fascist, Donald Trump fascist, JD Vance, fascist, fascist, fascist, that is not abated. It's gotten worse. So we want to talk a little bit about rhetoric that the left calls violence. In just a moment, Jessica McBride from Wisconsin right now has an exclusive. I'll be right back. Welcome back to the program.
Before we get to the exclusive that Jessica McBride from Wisconsin right now is going to share, this just in from Senator Eric Wimberger's office that Tony Evers has closed to veterans homeless shelters, one in Green Bay, one in Chippewa Falls, even though there is funds available to keep them open. The legislature made funds available for these two shelters, and Tony Evers has decided to close them. More on that as I, I've just reached out to Senator Wimberger's office to get more details on this. This was just a press release he put out. That's pathetic. It is appalling and pathetic. If you have got funds to keep homeless shelters open, you keep them open. These guys need it. They need the help. Okay. To Jessica McBride, the Democrats. say rhetoric is violence, right? They say that. They say that they feel threatened when they hear violent rhetoric, of course, not their violent rhetoric toward conservatives, but, you know, violent rhetoric, whatever they decide to define as violent, so much so that they threw one of their own. who was just not playing ball out of their caucus for a while and banned her from the Capitol. And yet we have this young whippersnapper in Waukesha County, the chair of the Democratic Party who seems to be using rhetoric that is violent. What did you find out? Hi, Vicki. Yeah. So this guy, Matt Moreno. wrote a Facebook post after the election, November 8th, 2024, in which he literally says, if I hear this expletive, I will choose violence. Men need to hold men accountable, and I'm going to enforce this expletive in my spaces. So I'll reiterate that point. Quote, I will choose violence, and quote, he said. He put this over, you know, a graphic from somebody else that had said, your body, my choice, is such a rapist thing to say, to be honest, if you support this, see yourselves out. So he's clearly saying in this post, if he hears words that he doesn't like. He will, quote, unquote, choose violence. So a little background on this man quickly. He is the long time chair of the Walker-Shikani Democratic Party. He's been there for a number of years, I think something like nine years. He's also a legislative aid. So he works in the state capital for state representative Karen Kirsch. She's a Democrat from Greenfield. So he holds a number of hats. He's been profiled in the New York Times. And he came to our attention because he tried to raise a hue and cry over some children who had drawn a homemade sign supporting the police and then rode in a squad car holding the sign. He was upset because their father, Matt Rosick, is a conservative running for mayor of O'Connemwalk.
And so he was trying to claim, well, this is, you know, unethical. It's falsely implying the Oconowoc police are supporting Matt Rosek for mayor. And Matt Rosek said, wait a minute, like my wife won a ride along in a fundraiser for O'Connorque Police. My wife and I didn't even go in the squad. It was in a parade. My three kids went in there. And they wrote a sign that said Roses for the police because my kids support the police. It's just handmade sign. And this guy, Matt Moreno, like, threw a fit over this, filed an ethics complaint. There was a big story in the Freeman. That's when I went and scrutinized his social media. And I saw this post. And I was like, hey, wait a minute. Like, this seemed pretty blatant. I will choose violence. I will choose violence if there are words that I don't like. So, so the, let's just make the exclamation point at the end of the story of the economac, economac mayoral candidate. Roe six for the police. That was what kids just scribbled on a piece of poster board because they loved the police department. And he went after them. But I will choose violence. Okay. So, so. How did the Democrats respond to this? These are the Democrats. We should point this out. Right. Who went after Sylvia Ortiz for something she said, which we still haven't gotten, you know, confirmation of. They claimed made them feel unsafe to this is their fellow Democrat. Now sometimes she'll she'll work with Republicans. That's her sin. She said something that they claimed made them feel unsafe. They called Capitol Police. They had a ban from the Capitol. And they claimed that they would not tolerate that kind of rhetoric. But wait a minute. I will choose violence is okay. But whatever it is that we're not allowed to know that Sylvia Ortiz said is so bad that they want to ban their fellow Democrat from the Capitol. Right. So the three Democrats who filed a complaint against Sylvia with the Capitol Police, and then, of course, released a statement that created war-sized headlines, being a little hyperbolic, in the Associated Press and everything. I wrote them, and I said, well, what's your reaction to this? Will you be filing a complaint about Moreno's comment? Zero response, absolute crickets. I wrote the state Democratic Party because in addition to Moreno's comment, there is a candidate, a Democratic candidate who is running against Chris Cappingaw for state Senate, Mike Van Sumeran, who went on Moreno's comment thread at the time and wrote, fame here. And so I wrote the state Democratic Party. I said, what's your reaction to both of these comments, Moreno's initial post, and then that comment, zero response, absolute crickets. I wrote the state legislative human resources chief, who's allegedly the person who banned Sylvia briefly from the state capital for some comment that, as you noted, we're not, apparently not allowed to know what she actually is alleged to have said. She denies saying anything that was an actual threat. Anyway, this woman, Amanda Jorgensen, zero response. Okay, so the only person who responded actually is Matt Moreno, this Walkershire County Dem chair and legislative aid.
who immediately wrote back and he said, looking back at the post, it's not something I should have said. I don't condone violence and I will be taking the post down. Okay. So which statement are we supposed to believe? The one where he says, I don't condone violence or the one where he said, quote, I will choose violence, end quote. So there's so much hypocrisy going on here. And Vicki, I am expecting, and I'm being slightly rhetorical here and very sarcastic, but I'm expecting the Associated Press and the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel to create huge stories about Matt Moreno's comments since they did so against Sylvia Ortiz Belize. Yes, impression. Reminder, Moreno works in the Capitol. He's a legislative aide. So if I choose violence and the guy works in the Capitol, should we have someone call Capitol police and investigate him? I mean, that's what they did to Sylvia Ortiz. And they won't, no one will say what she said. She, again, adamantly claimed she did not threaten anybody. adamantly, not even just kind of sort of, oh, I didn't really threaten anybody. No, she adamantly claims she didn't threaten anybody. And we should go into the Sylvia Ortiz story here for just a sec, because the speculative reason why she is being ostracized by her fellow Democrats is that occasionally she will work with Republicans. Occasionally. She will work, you know, with Republicans on good things regarding law enforcement sometimes and other issues that are kind of centrist. And so if she, we're not allowed to hear what she said, but she's supposed to be thrown out of the Capitol. Well, we know I will choose violence is I will choose violence. Maybe we should investigate Matt Moreno. And maybe we should take a look at his, at the candidate who also endorsed this, you know, this idea of I will choose violence, Mike Van Someran. Yeah, I mean, double standard much? Well, here's how, this is how the playbook works, and we all know this. So, you know, people put out this press statement. They file a complaint with the Capitol Police. That then generates a headline in the Associated Press and Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, the legacy media. I will bet you a million dollars that that headline will now end up in campaign ads targeting Sylvia Ortiz-Belze in some Democratic primary. Because as you stated, people on her side of the fence are very angry that she sometimes switches over and votes with Republicans. Pretty rare down there in the Capitol.
So, you know, Republicans never play by that playbook, right? Like, they could file a complaint with Capitol Police now. And then would it generate these huge headlines, you know, et cetera, et cetera. But they sort of never, they never adopt to the playbook. But that's how this works. It goes from press release to legacy media to campaign ads, frankly. It always ratchets one way. It always ratchets one way. I mean, and I'll give you more examples. There have been multiple complaints across Facebook statewide, parents posting pictures of comments that were made by teachers, comments. We had the Iron County judge. And did the Associated Press or Gannett or anybody else, Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, their Ginnett, pick up any of these stories? I mean, we're talking, right, violent rhetoric. Rhetoric is violence. Speech is violence. That's why actually people tried to come after me when I said the Democratic Party was the party of assassinations. I don't know how that speech is violence, but whatever. So, but that got nothing. Those are all either local stories or strictly social media stories that are being circulated among the center right in Wisconsin. Well, I've seen stories in the legacy media more focused on, you know, people who were falsely accused of saying things about Charlie Kirk, where it turned out it wasn't really them or whatever. The media seemed very interested in that narrative. And, like, to be clear, that's terrible and wrong. If that, you know, happen to people, it's awful. But they seem like they're interested in that narrative. And I am waiting with bated breath for the... war-sized headlines to be generated by our reporting on Matt Moreno, but, you know, I, well, I'm actually not, not willing to hold my breath on that one. No, this is something that is, yeah, it is something that would, let's just say a talk show host said it, uh, or you typed it, um, any Republican who has elected any aid. I remember when this was a few years ago when an aid to a legislative Republican tweeted out something about Colin Kaepernick. And ended up losing his job. Why? Media attention. So for folks out there saying, well, this seems kind of like small potato stuff. And it probably is. It's not small potatoes if it happens on the alternate side of the political aisle. And it isn't small potatoes when it's a Democrat who's being punished for working with Republicans because how dare she? And so it's when you see this stuff, understand. that the ratchet only goes one way with this media. Well, and also I don't think he's a small potatoes guy because he's chair of a very important, you know, a county party. You know, the Waukesha County Democratic Party is a really big one. And it's an important one, a critical one. He's been profiled in the New York Times. And he's a legislative aide for Karen Kersh, who I should also note did not bother to respond. So I wrote state rep Karen Keir Starmer. She's out of Greenfield. Yeah, so what do you think? You're the boss of this guy. What's your reaction, et cetera? No response at all. So they're not even willing to condemn this?
Is that where we're at now? Yes, that's where we're at. And it won't matter. It won't matter because there's no attention. This is the tree falling in the forest question. It won't matter because they will not pick up your story, which was a great story. You did your due diligence. You called your sources. You reached out to people. You asked for comment. They won't pick it up. I mean, it's a cut and paste story. It really is. All they'd have to do is get credit. You know what, though? And this is what's interesting, what I'm really trying to build with Wisconsin right now, is our ability to have such a large audience that we don't need the filter of the legacy media to get the word out. And so if you Google Matt Moreno's name right now, we're the top starander's name. It's his Instagram page, and then it's our story, and then it's LinkedIn. And secondly, I'm telling you in like the last month, I would say, it feels like Facebook has lifted its metaphorical boot off of our necks, okay, because all of a sudden our distribution is blown up. We've had millions of reach on Facebook, and it made me realize anew. I knew this before, but really underscored how much Facebook for years, it kept a lid on Wisconsin right now's ability and the ability of many conservatives to grow distribution, to grow audience. Because we were kind of stuck stagnant for years, you know, until Elon Musk created his great free speech space. And then Mark Zuckerberg kind of followed suit after Trump won. And he saw, like, you know, how things were going or, you know, where the power was shifting to. And now all of a sudden, it's like we're getting audience and just distribution. Get on Facebook. I mean, I hate to say that to people because they aggravate me. Although I was paid $34 for my privacy violation, $34 in my settlement in the class action lawsuit against Facebook. Really? $34. Trump just got $24 million out of YouTube. Yeah, I got $34. Yeah, I bet the attorneys probably did pretty well in that. But I will say this for folks in terms of our age group. So that's like old millennials. Gen X, maybe younger and mid-range boomers, get on Facebook and start posting stuff. Just you've got to do it. You've got to be a participant in the citizen media. This is a really great story. Please check it out at Wisconsin right now.com. Thank you, Jessica, for jumping on the show. Thanks, Vicki. Appreciate it. Good to have you. And we will take a break. Congressman Derrick Van Orden is going to come and join me in just a moment. We'll talk about rural hospitals, but also Pete Hegseth, National Treasure. What a speech today. We'll be right back.
Welcome back to the program. It's the Vicki McKenna Show. And standing by, I have Congressman Derrick Van Orden on the program to talk about a whole bunch of different things, not the least of which are Democrats wanting to defund rural hospitals. We'll get to that. And the idiocy of this ridiculous shutdown brinkmanship that we have going on. But before we get to that. Pete Hegseth is a national treasure. He just is. I didn't know what I thought about him because I didn't know his background. But holy smokes, Derek. This guy just, you know, he puts his head down and he gets stuff done. And his address to the generals, we are done with fill in the blank, men and dresses, climate change politics, weak men, weak women, et cetera. I mean, I wanted to stand up and sing the national anthem after listening to him. You know what, Vicki? Pete is a friend of mine, and he has been for quite a while now. And the reason the Democrats, he loried him so hard publicly during his confirmation hearing and other hearings that we've had on the House Armed Services Committee is because they knew this was coming. So the Democrat Party intentionally tries to keep this country weak, and I don't even know why. But I sent him a note saying, we are so damn proud of you. And then I signed it the GWAT generation. So I spent, and me and my buddies, spent over 20 years in sustained combat. And we have been waiting for somebody to tell these generals to do their damn jobs. They turned the war in Afghanistan and Iraq into a vanity fair project. They competed on how many people had their personal security details. They competed on their quarters to make sure they had the fanciest things ever. And they did things over and over again to get promoted. So we were in Afghanistan for 20 years, but we actually fought about 40 different wars because these general officers and flag officers came in, and they had to do their own footprint to get promoted. That's why we lost those wars. The general officers and flag officers turned it into a vanity project and it was disgusting. And I've never seen any type of vitriol from the enlisted and junior officers towards the general officers and flag officers in the G-Watt. And Pete Hegseth is roping them up hard. I love that you actually said it like that. You basically described what happens in corporate America when a middle manager comes in and has to throw everything into chaos in order to be the fancy boy so that he can get the upper, you know, C-suite eventually in his career. That's basically where you're saying our men and women, other people, civilians, whatever, all had to pay the price so that a bunch of basically middle managers could put their mark on something so they could get... moved up the ranks. That's so offensive. It makes me so mad, but I am glad it is coming to an end. It should, and it is. And listen, Pete had a great line. War doesn't care about your gender.
War doesn't care about your sexuality. War doesn't care about the color of your skin. War cares about are you the most lethal person in the battle space? Can you carry your rucksack? Can you shoot, move, and communicate? There's a distinct difference between combat arms and support arms. And we have to acknowledge that fact. So you're not going to get lighter if you're shot in the battle space because you're with someone that can't carry your weight. It's just not going to happen. So we focus on lethality. We must focus on the war fighter. We must honor. And I mean honor the folks that are supporting us with our guns. You know, we have guns in our hands. We must honor the people that support us and allow us to do our job. But they're not combat arms. They simply are not. So what you're saying is it doesn't matter if we have, you know, spiffy-looking flight suits for pregnant ladies and we're pursuing the authentic identities of men who like to either dress up as animals or wear dresses. That's what you're saying. That really doesn't enhance the military. It does not. And this is not about not having women in the military. It's about acknowledging the fact. that, you know, you need to be able to carry your weight. You need to be able to shoot, move, and communicate. You need to be able to hump a rock sack for days on end. You need to be able to go into a room and beat someone to death with your hands. That's what combat arms is about. And I had the same discussion with all the leaders of the Special Operations Component commands when they started talking about those fancy whiz-bang drones and stuff. And I was like, hey, look, man. You've got to understand, us, special operators, we're a different breed of people. We are the person that has to go into a room and actually beat someone to death with our hands who is trying to kill American citizens. The tip of the spear is designed to be thrust into your enemy's chest, not to be waved around with a pride flag on it. So we're not doing that anymore. America is going to be a safer place and the world is going to be a safer place because of that. Our military is also going to attract more people. One of the things that happened was you took all those those young men who came from military families who really wanted to serve and you ran them off. Why would you do that? Why would you take the gung-ho guys who love this country, want to defend this country and run them off from recruitment efforts? I think recruitment is going to explode after this. And I certainly hope it does. We can then start getting into what we need to do for veterans' benefits and PTSD and all that kind of stuff. But let's put these guys first for a change. Right. Hey, Vicki, every single service met their year recruiting goals at least four months early because of Pete Hegseth and Donald Trump. Because he is a national treasure. What you just said is already taking place. And so when we sit back and we look and we see the Biden administration, Lloyd Austin and General Millie, putting pronouns over performance, no one wants to be part of that. Nope.
Nope. And it's proven itself out. Don't need to get lectured about fragility. Don't need to get lectured about gender fragility or white fragility or whatever. Toxic masculinity. Sick of that garbage. I was about Pete Hegseth set there, but that would get me an FCC violation, so I won't. All right. I don't want to run out of time here. We got to talk about rural hospitals. You were telling me that the Democrats are actually poised to vote against helping rural hospitals after the... one big beautiful bill set aside dollars to help rural hospital, huh? So, Vicki, every single member of the Democrat party in the House and the Senate, minus one, and that includes Mark Pocan and Gwen Moore, voted against sending the state of Wisconsin $500 million for rural health care. And they put this bill through. They shut down. It's a $50 million rural health care fund. The Democrats voted against it. So when they say they're fighting for health care, they are, but it's for illegal aliens. That's what they're holding out. The Democrat Party is holding out. so that you, Vicki, and the rest of the American citizens have to fund free health care for illegal aliens. And they voted against sending the state of Wisconsin $500 million for rural health care. We had HSSHS closed in the Chippewa Valley. Devastating. We could be using that money to help rebuild the health care infrastructure in the state of Wisconsin in my district. But the Democrats, I mean, this is, you can't even make this stuff up. They're voting to pay for transgender surgeries in Guatemala. And they're voting against having $500 million come to the state of Wisconsin for rural health care infrastructure. It's inexcusable. How do you, how do you conscience that? How does Mark Pocan conscience that? He's got some rural areas in district, in district two. He wants, I mean, he's trying to take you out. How does, how can anybody conscience that? You're closing hospitals. People don't have access to facilities. That's a problem, especially if you have limited mobility or you don't have access to somebody can drive you places. Correct. Mark Polkhan has his own issues going on. I honestly believe that he is mentally ill. And so I'm just going to put him to the side. I'm ignoring that guy. He's nothing but a distraction. The issue is this. We have to take care of our own. Just because we live in rural areas doesn't mean we shouldn't have affordable, readily available, and high-quality medical care. And so when I say I'm fighting for rural health care, I actually mean it because I voted to send $500 million to the state of Wisconsin for rural health care infrastructure. We did work in D.C. in conjunction with the Republican-controlled Assembly and Senate in the state of Wisconsin to get an additional $1 billion per year for badger care in the state of Wisconsin. Mark Pocan voted against that. It doesn't make any sense at all.
So when Republicans say we're fighting for health care, we're fighting for American citizens' health care, particularly in rural areas. And the Democrat Party is literally fighting for American taxpayers to pay for free health care for illegal aliens and gender reassignment surgery in Guatemala. Yeah. So the billion dollars was for Medicaid. That was for Medicaid, but it wasn't going to be used for illegal aliens Medicaid. It wasn't going to be used for non- For Medicare care. Yeah, the badger care is Medicaid. That's our Medicaid. Some people don't know that. No, I know. I know. I know. So Mark Pocan votes against a billion dollars for badger care, Medicaid, at the same time, you don't care about health care. At the same time, cutting $500 million to rural health care facilities because to heck with the people who aren't attached to the dysfunction of the cities in Wisconsin. Who cares about the farmers? Who cares about people with small businesses in the center of the state? Really? Who cares about what? Western Wisconsin. You want to talk about farmers? Our farm service agencies are going to close. The government shuts down. Anybody that needs to get a loan or work, any of the programs for the federal government for agriculture, all of our farmers, gone as of midnight tonight. Because Chuck Schumer, here's what's really taking place. I don't know if you don't this or not. So Chuck Schumer voted to pass the last continuing resolution, and he got Pallori for it. Chuck Schumer is afraid of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. So here's what's going to happen. If Chuck Schumer lets this go through, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's going to run for his seat, and he will lose to Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. That's why he's doing it. So Chuck Schumer is literally putting his job as a senator above... The state of Wisconsin is in the other 50 states. His $174,000 a year, his access to insider stock tips, his ability to travel at will on the taxpayer dime. It's the more important to Chuck Schumer is. And my farmers. Yes, then Wisconsin, then your farmers, then rural health care, then the stability of the United States is his job. And he's an old man who should already be ready for retirement. I wish I had a bit more time with you. Derrick Van Orden. Thanks very much for coming on the program today. I appreciate it. Vicki, it is always a pleasure. to speak to you and how to ask that God bless you and your listeners. Thanks so much. And we'll take a quick break on the Vicki McKenna Show.
