It's a long way from a dairy farm in Valley Station, Kentucky, to that stage I was on last night. I can't take any credit for it, as you've heard me say a number of times. It goes all the way back to my school teachers at St. Paul's, my ball coaches, be at Franklin Simpson, Center College, Murray State. to my teammates I served with all over the world. They all made me better. And, of course, the Lord and my family. Can't thank you enough. Glad to be on. Hello out there to the listeners. Well, yeah, a lot of folks stepped up for you there in District 4, but really around America, I think a lot of people were really fascinated by the differences in this race. President Trump obviously endorsed you. Thomas Massie fought back, and you prevailed, and it wasn't even close. So how did it feel through the evening as you started to realize this is happening? Well, let me just put a bow on it. So when it appeared, you know, some of these politicos were starting to call the race, one of the first phone calls, you're ready for this, God is good. And when the first phone calls they got was my oldest son. And he put one of the granddaughters on that had just got out of the tub with her wet hair. All she wanted to talk about was her wet hair. She's about three and a half. And that's what we talked about was her wet hair. That kept me humble and what is important. I think the Lord did that to remind me what's important and what matters. And all that to say, that's what I'm going to take to Washington for my district, these 21 counties out here in Kentucky, because I speak fluent Kentucky, and that's mean common sense and common courtesy. They can count on that. I can't thank them enough for their support. I just will tell you that, you know, folks got to remember. You know, I wasn't in this race to one November. What it illuminated is the folks were hungry for somebody like them that spoke directly to them, not down to them, wasn't a social media celebrity or a coastal elite. I've one of these people here, as you know, Terry. Thank you. Thomas Massie's concession speech was kind of snarky. He took a shot at you in telling the crowd. He was having a difficult time conceding because he couldn't find you in Tel Aviv. I mean, how did you take that? I think he was looking for one of his burner phones, but we'll put that aside. There's a Pulitzer Prize for your friends, well, our friends at the Courier Journal, and I've invited him a number of times to look into this, or the Cincinnati paper. But these people deserve better.
We won't get into that because it's just, it wholly is inappropriate to talk on this world-class radio show you have. So we'll just put that aside, but to say it was wonderful to hear the outcry of these folks that didn't know, didn't know Ed Gowron from a hole in the ground, you know, when the day I walked out of the Oval Office on 17 October. But I had the audacity to think I could make a difference, Terry, is the same reason I joined when President Reagan inspired me, duty on her country. Faith, Family, Freedom. There was no bonus. Terry, was there any books or movies about Navy Shields in 1983? Of course. Well, no, there were none, young man. No, you couldn't find a book for a movie. But you had to start, didn't you? No, well, that all came decades later. But all that to say, for the same reason, the president told me why I needed to run. My nation needed me, the district needed me, and the party needed me. I stepped up. And again, his support, you know, is reflected in the votes here and across the nation. Remind folks, he won 78 million votes of the American public. He won 31 states, includes the swing states. And he also won 312 electoral votes. And I took a page out of him and President Reagan's book. Talk directly to the people. Don't put anybody in the middle, just like y'all allow me to do here. So thank you so much. That's what the people want. Don't talk down to them. Don't get one of those, for lack of a better term, those left-wing liberal media folks to sort of the throughput. Talk directly to the people. They like that. They respect it. You use the word honor frequently in our conversations over the last so many months. And I want to take... Just a second to say the PAC ad, it wasn't necessarily Thomas Massie's ad, but it was one that showed you running away from combat. How did that torch you to see an image like that? I will tell you the outcry I heard from my veteran friends that understood what the inference they were trying to make there was it was reflected in the vote. So it was extraordinarily desperate. whether he had a direct hand in it or not to put something out there like that. And it was shameful. And it really was an insult to all combat veterans because those that have served understand what they were trying to say. And I guess I should have got five bronze stars and served three times at SEAL Team 6 and served eight and eight SEAL teams and units. But at some juncture he'd say, okay, you got a transfer time that you're going to get promoted and move up. And that's no point of importance. So all that to say, it really illuminated that desperation. I want to add this by him and his followers. Terry, this race was a referendum. that if coastal elites and the George Soros group of the folks that hate us here in this district, our churches, our Bibles, and our Constitution could buy a seat with a rhino, make-believe Republican, and by golly, they lost. That's what that reflected, their desperation.
Thank you for the question. I know that you're busy back working on your farm again, but you're going to have to get to work on this campaign soon enough. You have a challenger, obviously, in November. How soon will you meet again with President Trump or his associates? Well, a lot of phone calls are going on, and you're right. We're going to, like I shared with you before we got on here, I already got so wet, dirty, muddy, and nasty. I took the shower before lunch. You try to use, Terry, out here on the farm, you try to make it to lunch. I didn't make it to lunch today with those rains coming in and out. We have to just get after it. So all of that to say, I'll let things unfold, and I look forward to working with the president and his team, you know, in order to best represent these folks out here. in these 21 counties because they deserve better and i'm going to give it to them than what we've had for the past you know seven terms from the previous congressman otherwise known as misrepresentative massing oh and back to your points about his what he had to say that reflects on him They deserve better. His remarks there reflect on him. That's all you need to know. That's who he is. He's not one of us. Remember, he was running an ad, a 60-second ad in the last few days about how he visits Kentucky. No kidding. Hold that thought. I visit Kentucky. When I visit Kentucky, well, that tells you all you need to know about his identity. He is not one of us. He's a coastal elite. Ed Galrine, congratulations. We're looking forward to seeing how all this comes together for in the coming months leading up to the general election. I know you're going back to your farm work, so get at it, brother. Good talking to you again. You can hear the birds chirping right here. I just got a glass of tea while we're talking. I'm going to get back after it. Thank you, Terry, and thank you to the listeners. You betcha. Thanks, Ed. So long.
