You're listening to the John Cobel podcast on the IHeart Radio app. We're on every day from one, no, we're on every day from three until six. Three until six, that's the new time. It was our old time. And after six o'clock, John Cobalt show on demand, the podcast. And you can hear what you missed. And quite a lot happened today. First hour, we went through. Tell me again what we did in the first hour. Alberto Carvolo. Alberto Carvalo. And we're going to do more on him this hour. He is the L.A. Unified Superintendent who got a... Bad wake-up call this morning. FBI agents barged into his house and said Pedro, and they barged into his office in downtown L.A. And it's a white-collar federal criminal investigation, and he's the target. And I'm hearing some cool details that I cannot share. We'll see if they're true. But secret sources are slipping me some interesting information. And he's had, I got to, you know, I got to go through his actual... his whole life history. We got some of it earlier in the show. But man, was he given all kinds of awards? And he's no good at the job because two-thirds of the kids in the L.A. school district are not at their grade-level math proficiency. They're not proficient in math. Two-thirds of them. And 55% of the kids are not at reading proficiency. So why does this guy get all? He got an award from Obama. For what? Kids are graduating. Huge percentages of kids. You know, not 5% right? No. 55% of the kids can't meet reading proficiency requirements. 65% of the kids can't read math proficiency. And this guy's got, is considered a rising star. That was the headline in the LA Times. The hell's going on. They're illiterate and enumerate. Inumerate. Isn't that a good word? That's the numerical version of illiterate. Somebody can't add in some track. You have a high IQ. Me? Yes. Oh, you have no idea.

4:35

Well, it's higher than most of the people I talk about. I know. I know. Which isn't much of a bar. No. I mean, I know how to read and do math. You know how to read and do math. Well, I know how to read. Okay. Math, just the basics. I mean, you know, I hated geometry. I stopped. I mean, I stopped at algebra, too. They can't do the basics. Trump. This was great last night. I mean, it's an hour and 45 minutes. I couldn't see the whole thing. So I was a little in and out. But we've got the best moments here. My favorite moment is when Trump was up there calling the Democrats crazy. And you listen to this whole clip so you have the context. It's less than a minute. But this to me, I don't know how anyone could vote for a progressive politician after you hear the following clips. But surely we can all agree no state can be allowed to rip children from their parents' arms and transition them to a new gender against the parents' will. Who would believe that we've been talking about it? We must ban it and we must ban it immediately.

5:49

Democrats are not applauded. Look, nobody stands up. These people are crazy, I'm telling you. They're crazy. Pointing at the Democrats who have these ugly, silly looks on her face, arms folded, did not agree with his proposal here. Can you imagine? They actually think that it's okay. to take a teenage boy or a girl and mutilate their sexual organs and not tell the parents. They actually agree with that. They're against the law that would outlaw this sort of thing. It's amazing. You can't tell the parents that your kid has switched genders. And then they had a girl up in the rafters there sitting with her parents. Apparently, you know, she went through some kind of transformation and now is transformed back. But she wasn't allowed to tell her, well, she didn't have to tell her parents and whatever the details were. But, come on, I mean, that is crazy. What else would you call that? Who do you know in your life who thinks that a kid should switch genders and nobody tells the parents and undergo surgical procedures, hormone procedures? Who would possibly think that? Nearly all the Democrats sitting there refused to applaud, refused to agree with that concept. Man, and did they look angry and sullen? All of them look like they're sucking on prunes. All right. Now, this is one. This is, why would you do this? Trump asked the legislators to stand if they agree that Americans should be protected over illegal aliens. The ovation was so long. It was almost two minutes long. We cut out a big chunk of it. Otherwise, you know, we'd run out of time here. But so we edited the ovation, but trust me, it went at least a minute, 50 seconds. Play cut too. So tonight I'm inviting every legislature to join with my administration in reaffirming a fundamental principle. If you agree with this statement, then stand up and show your support. The first duty of the American government is to protect American citizens, not a legal alien.

8:29

Ovation goes a minute 50 here. We're going to edit it. You should be ashamed of yourself, not standing up. You should be ashamed of yourself. That is why I'm also asking you to end deadly sanctuary cities that protect the criminals and enact serious penalties for public officials who block the removal of criminal aliens. In many cases, drug lords, murderers all over our country, they're blocking the removal of these people out of our country. And you should be ashamed of yourself. They had two, and you know these people, if you follow this, Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar. They're the ones screaming at Trump because he thinks American citizens ought to be protected ahead of illegal aliens. And they're screaming at him. And they both should be put in a mental hospital. How do people like that end up being congressional representatives and then they turn against Americans? Well, because we've let in so many immigrants who've now coalesced, they have their own congressional district, and they elect a lunatic who represents the interests of these immigrants, many of them illegal, and they don't represent American interests anymore. That's how that happens. So then you have Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar screaming. What year did that become controversial? The Congress ought to protect us first, the American citizens, you know, the taxpayers. All right, let's continue along that line. He said there's going to be a war on fraud. JD Vance is going to be in charge of it, and he starts going off about the Somalis in Minnesota.

10:47

And that's when Ilhan Omar, who's connected to the fraud in Minnesota, starts yelling at him again. You'll hear it right in the beginning. Cut number three. But when it comes to the corruption that is plundering, really, it's plundering America. There's been no more stunning example than Minnesota. The members of the Somali community have pillaged an estimated $19 billion from the American taxpayer. We have all the information. And in actuality, the number is much higher than that. And California, Massachusetts, Maine, and many other states are even worse. This is the kind of corruption that shreds the fabric of a nation, and we are working on it like you wouldn't believe. So tonight, although started four months ago, I am officially announcing the war on fraud to be led by our great Vice President, JD Vance. We'll cut her off here. You get the idea. So Ilhan Omar are screaming at him in two of these clips we played. She's born to Somalia. So she comes to this country. By the way, she's up to her ears in the Somali fraud scandal in Minneapolis. And the story is, her net worth has gone from a small amount to millions and millions of dollars. And she supposedly has a winery here in California that produces no wine. They don't have any grapes. John, I have a quick question for you before I forget. What did you think of them going USA? USA! USA! When I was driving in my car yesterday or last night when I was listening, I was dying because I was just wondering what you thought about that. Because I cannot imagine you. No, I don't do that stuff. Yeah, I know. I don't do. And so what did you think of that? Well, I mean, you know, the hockey team was there and it became like a sports arena situation. But you're not, I don't do chance. I don't get into this overt patriotism thing because then you see, that's why I don't join political parties. I don't want to have to be connected to all the excesses and idiocy of either party. Because believe me, you left the Republicans in charge long enough, and there'd be all kinds of nonsense on the other side going on. So I don't do the USA-USA thing. Okay. But I do think that, yeah, we get protected over illegal aliens first. Oh, yeah, yeah. All right. Summer is here, which means we all want to look and feel our best. A gLP1 may be right for you. Bite into a stacked sandwich made with Hero Bread or a fully loaded bagel. And the only thing you'll think is... Delicious! You won't think it's up to 19 grams of protein, but it is. You wouldn't believe it has 11 to 32 grams of fiber, but it does. Hero Bread makes loaves, buns, tortillas, bagels, and noodles hacked with taste, but without all the net carbs. We're talking zero to five grams net carbs per serving. With Hero Bread... There are no compromises, just flavor. There's none of the stiff baked goods you'd expect from Better for You brands. There's just the soft, fluffy bread you crave. Plus, small batch drops of indulgent favorites, like the popular 2 gram net carb hero croissant and 3 gram net carb hero pan of chocolate. And right now, hero bread is offering 10% off your order. Go to hero.co and use code iHeart at checkout. That's code iHeart at hr.o.co. All figures per serving of Hero Bread. See Nutrition Facts on Hero.com. You're listening to John Cobalt on demand from KFI AM 640. Coming up after 5.30, Alberto Carvalho. He is the L.A. Unified Superintendent, at least for the moment, but he's involved in a big scandal. The FBI busted down his door in San Pedro at his home and busted into his offices in downtown L.A. And it looks like he's being investigated. He's a target, some white collar crime business. And what is it exactly? Well, there's rumors swirling, but we'll have to hold off on some of them. Some of the stuff we can tell you.

17:00

I have a feeling they're on target. Anyway, we also have a clip of, guess what, just a couple of weeks ago, who do you think was praising Alberto Carvalho in his state of the state speech? That's right. Gavin Newsom again. Thank you, Governor. That's just incredible. All right, we've been playing you clips of Trump, and he really ripped on the Democrats last night, called them crazy, and they are. He's proposing a law that kids cannot sexually transition their bodies to a new gender unless they have parents' permission. And the Democrats are against that. They're against parents giving their permission. It's like you're going to let a teenage boy or girl mutilate their bodies change their genitals just because they feel like it in the moment. And then he said, stand up and applaud. If you think the first obligation of Congress is to protect Americans, not illegal immigrants, and all the Democrats wouldn't stand. And the lunatics, Rashida Tlaib, and Ilhan Omar started screaming at him. And then Ilhan Omar started screaming at him again when he talked about the war on fraud in Minneapolis among the Somali community. Well, there's... A story online that on her Congressional Financial Forum looks like her fraud may extend here to California. She has registered in California a business, a winery business, called E-T-C-R-U-L-C-L-C, Claiming their worth between a million and $5 million as of 2024, which was way up from the previous year. It's supposedly operating in Santa Rosa, California, but nobody can find it. There is no obvious winery facility. There is no production. There's no business license. There's no wine. There's no grapes. There's no grapes fields, nothing. So why is it on paper and why is it gone from a tiny amount of money to being worth up to $5 million? When there's no grapes and there's no wine and there's no wine production facilities. Yeah. Because that stuff's fraud. You remember the Ukrainian woman who got killed on a bus? Irina Zarutzka. Remember a beautiful blonde young woman? She's sitting on a bus in Charlotte, North Carolina where this monster, vicious criminal. stands over her with a big knife and just slices her up, chops her up, stabs her repeatedly. Remember terrified she looked in the video? Well, Trump brought this up and didn't get a proper reaction. Her mother was there in the audience, crying, as Trump tells the story, Democrats wouldn't stand for her either. She had escaped a brutal war only to be slain by a hardened criminal. set free to kill in America, came in through open borders. Mrs. Zaretska tonight, I promise you, we will ensure justice for your magnificent daughter, Irina.

20:50

How do you not stand? How do you not stand? And this guy was arrested 14 times in North Carolina before stabbing arena to death. Charges dating back to 2007. You remember that? 14 times. And he was let out of prison early. And COVID reasons because of a lawsuit by the ACLU. And although the North Carolina Department of Corrections said he was not released early. But he was released apparently for other reasons. It's just... The vicious crime was just so horrific. I mean, after seeing that, I'll just never forget to look on that poor girl's face. And, of course, the mother's in the audience crying, crying like crazy. And they wouldn't stand up at acknowledge her. Acknowledge her pain. I mean, all these people. You know, that whole side of the aisle last night should be deported. I'd be deporting a lot of American citizens and American officials. One day, one day I will take over. All right, when we come back, Alberto Carvalho. Oh, this guy is, I've got to go through his history again. Everybody's shocked. Just like, oh, the superintendent has been raided by the FBI. Has anybody looked at his life? He's had all kinds of weird things going on in his life. You're listening to John Cobalt on demand from KFI AM 640. We are on every day from 3 until 6. And right after 6 o'clock, we released the podcast, John Cobalt Show on Demand. And it'll... It'll have everything. That's a whole radio show. It's the same thing. So whatever you miss, you could listen. Spent a lot of time in first hour on something we're going to talk further about here. And that's Alberto Carvalho. We had Alex Stone on and he went through all the days events and activities. And in the second hour, we talked about this disgusting rapist, child rapist, eight times. who Gavin Newsom wrote a law or signed a law back in 2020 that allowed this guy and anybody like him to get out of prison early under elderly parole, even though he kidnapped, raped, and beat up eight little children under the age of seven because of Gavin Newsom's law? This guy is getting released now, and the Pearl Board released him. And we're going to do a lot on this story in the coming days because it's as disgusting as anything you've ever heard. That's in the second hour of the podcast. Now, right here, more on Carvalho. And just quickly to run down this guy's checkered career, he started out life in America as an illegal alien.

23:49

He came here on a tourist visa, and he overstayed, and then for three years he ran around as an illegal alien. And back in 1986, Reagan signed a law that gave amnesty, so he got legalized. Three years as a legal alien, obviously no respect for American law. Yeah, I know he was poor, and he came from a big family, but we can't afford to take care of every kid coming from a big family here, right? There's a reason, you know, the city is broke, the county, and the state is broke, and the country is broke. This is one of the big reasons. We spend ungodly amounts of money on services for illegal aliens, and we don't have it for Americans. So that doesn't fly, and it shouldn't fly anymore. But, yeah, he's an illegally. So eventually he gets a green card, and then he works his way through the education system. And Alberta Carvallo runs the Miami-Dade County School District. And, geez. Well, for one thing, he was married, and he ended up having an affair with a former Miami-Herald education reporter named Tanya de Luzeraga. in 2008, all right? But then he got involved in a real scandal. The Inspector General said that Carvalho took a $1.5 million donation from an online instruction company. This is COVID time. Million and a half dollar donation for a foundation that Carvalho's in charge of. And the company also had a contract with the Miami School District. How about that? It was pending. The contract was pending, and then they gave him a million and a half dollar donation to his foundation. By the way, this online platform didn't work. They scrapped the whole ID, the whole idea. But Carvalos still kept the money in his foundation. Eventually... They have to give it to the teachers, and everybody got a $100 gift certificate. The Inspector General said the donation, while it didn't violate ethics policies, it created the appearance of impropriety. No, that's actual impropriety, but thanks. Wait a second. Federal authorities also investigated... A company called All Here, an education startup that created a chatbot for LA Unified. Oh, All Here. The founder and CEO, Joanna Smith hyphen Griffin, well, she got arrested. Securities fraud, wire fraud, aggravated identity theft. The chatbot has been withdrawn. They never really used it. They called the chatbot Ed.

26:50

Carvalho was doing business with this woman who's been charged with all kinds of fraud and identity theft for a chatbot named Ed, a chatbot. So there's a scandal with all here. There's a scandal with this Miami online company that contributed to his foundation. There is... He was an illegal alien for three years, didn't care about American law, and he was cheating on his wife with an education reporter of all things. But guess what? All that didn't matter. A couple of weeks ago, Gavin Newsom, in the middle of his state, state of the state address, decided that he was going to praise the L-A-U-S-D. The same guy here. Carvalo, Alberto Carvalo. He was going to praise Carvalo, the superintendent. Listen to him. It's a point of pride that those gains are particularly pronounced in Los Angeles, the nation's second largest school district. I just want to say this to the teachers, the classified employees, and to the parents of LA Unified School kids, you should be very proud of your project. How progress you're making, particularly proud of your leader. Who's here, the superintendent of public education, Alberto Covello, who is here with us today, who's just been doing a remarkable job. Alberta, I appreciate you coming all the way up from Los Angeles. And just so you know, just so you know, he's only been here a few years. But under his stewardship, the district is outpacing statewide progress. They're exceeding pre-pidemic levels in every category and reaching, get this, the highest levels recorded since the current state assessments were launched a decade ago. Under his leadership, that's happening in the nation's second largest school district. I say this all the time. You're nothing but a myriad of your consistent thoughts. Whatever you focus on, you'll find more of. And I don't think it's such a bad thing that we start focusing on what's right in terms of the investments made and the return on the investments that we're experiencing. And the superintendent, I assure you, he's the first one to say and acknowledge that we have a lot more work to do. There you go. We should all be proud of Alberto Carvalho. That was on January 8th. Six weeks later, the FBI is raiding Carvallo's house at his office. Six weeks after Gavin Newsom said we ought to be proud of him. By the way, I don't know what's to be proud of because according to the state testing records, two-thirds of the kids... in the Los Angeles school district do not meet math proficiency for their grade, and 55% do not meet reading proficiency. What happens is, is if you end up with a 2% or 3% gain over a period of time, everybody says, oh, let's have a parade. Let's praise ourselves. Let's give ourselves awards and prizes. We had a 2% gain.

30:11

You have 65% of the kids in the L.A. school district not proficient in math at their grade level. 65%, almost two-thirds. 55%, more than half, not proficient in reading. But you heard Gavin Newsom gushing. And now it turns out the FBI is maybe about to bust this guy. But guess what? In February 2014, Garvallo is named National Superintendent of the Year. In May of 2014, he was honored by Barack Obama at a ceremony at the White House. He was appointed to the National Assessment Governing Board. They set policy for the National Assessment of Educational Progress, tests the children take across the U.S. called the Nation's Report Card. Most of the kids in the Los Angeles School District fail those assessment tests. Cavallo won the Harold W. McGraw Prize in Education. He was named 2016 Magnet Schools of America Superintendent of the Year. He's got honorary doctorate degrees from Florida International University, Florida Memorial University, Nova Southeastern University. And two-thirds of the kids in Los Angeles don't meet math proficiency in L.A. and 55% don't meet reading proficiency. But, hey, he's a great guy. We should be proud of him. And maybe, you know, you can go and contribute to his bail fund if it comes to that. Summer is here, which means we all want to look and feel our best. A gLP1 may be right for you. He had his house in office. busted into by the FBI, some investigation that he's the target of. Now we have a Catholic bishop in San Diego, and he's been busted. They found out he took more than a dozen trips to a Mexican brothel. Yes, a Catholic bishop, Bishop Emmanuel Shelita, of the Chaldean Catholic Eparchy of San Diego. I don't know what an Eparchy is. But this is from a Catholic news outlet known as the Pillar. and he has offered his resignation. A private investigator documented Bishop Shelita using a special shuttle, which is exclusive to this brothel's customers to visit the Hong Kong Gentleman's Club in Tijuana. This is according to the pillar. The Hong Kong Gentleman's Club operates in Tijuana's Zona Norte Red Light District. Independent investigative reporting has documented patterns of coercion, organized crime, and the exploitation and human trafficking of vulnerable women and minors. And the bishop was part of the party. Bishop Emmanuel Shelita. Isn't this? This never ends, does it?

36:20

The investigator was submitted, the report was submitted to the Vatican. They said Shelita shared a personal bank account with a woman, identified as a former parish secretary. The account had $40,000 in it. Gee, I wonder where they got the money from. The woman in her children moved with Shelita from Michigan to Toronto, later to San Diego. And Shelita apparently had unfettered access to the woman's home and spent time alone with the children. And now they find he was a regular at the brothel in Tijuana. They also found out that... At the St. Peter's Chaldean Cathedral found out that there was irregularities in the rent payments to a parish-owned social hall. For eight months, rent payments of roughly $34,000 were paid in cash directly to Shelita. So there's some scandal there. Looks like the payments... For the social club, we're ending up in Chalida's hands and not in the hands of the church organization. But the best part is the Mexican bravo. He was a regular access to the special shuttle. There you go. All right. We'll be back tomorrow. Conway is next. And Michael Kerzer has the news live in the KFI 24-hour newsroom. You've been listening to the John Cobalt Show podcast.
