Dems Boycott SOTU, Pentagon's Iran Warning & A Mom Missing 24 Years Found Alive

The other new information in this case is that there appears to be an image of somebody, maybe even the same guy that was captured in the doorbell camera images the night that she was taken. There's another image of somebody there before that night. And they're not saying if it was earlier in the day, if it was earlier in the month, whatever it was, they said that they have another image of somebody there at her door, this time not wearing a backpack, but still no suspect identified yet. The state of the union address is facing, I guess you could say, a plot. There are dozens of people who are set to boycott the speech with counter events, including the parading of some Jeffrey Epstein victims on the national mall. Others have threatened to walk out during the president's state of the union address tonight. Two counter programming events are planned. Number one, the state of the swamp. They say will take place at 7 o'clock, the National Press Club, 7 o'clock DC time. Lawmakers and media people expected to speak. Activists encouraged to wear swampy frog costumes because that's what we have been.

reduced to. The second one is the People's State of the Union starting at about 8 o'clock D.C. time on the National Mall, including your Senator Adam Schiff. The State of the Union address will be heard here on KFI starting at 6 o'clock. And as I mentioned before, Abigail Spanberger is expected to give the Democrat response soon after that. Americans in Mexico have been calling, thankfully, the State Department's hotline, the 24-7 crisis hotline because they're trying to scramble to find ways home. We saw the cartel violence explode on Sunday after the Mexican military captured the head of the Halisco cartel and he died in custody. I mentioned we said this multiple times. You know, Shannon was going to go to Porto Vierda. Her plane got turned around on Sunday while this was going on. Our friend. Jesse, bored up for the Monks and Merrill show, is in Port of Iyarta and has been stuck there waiting for a way to get home. Everybody knows somebody in Port of Iyirda, it seems. I had a friend last night, text me to say that her daughter and son-in-law had been in Port of Iyarta. They were able to fly to Leone and then get a flight back to L.A.X. So there were some domestic flights that were coming in and out of, going in and out of Portoviarda. And if people were able to get to a different part of Mexico, then they've been able to at least come back to the United States. But man, what a couple, scary, scary couple of days. Great ratings news for NBC. The Olympics drew a daily average of 23.5 million viewers in the United States. The most watched Olympic Games since 2014 Sochi and almost double what it was at the Winter Olympics in Beijing. The viewership included the audience across several outlets, obviously NBC broadcast stuff that we saw, but also their Peacock Network, USA Network, CNBC, all of NBC's digital properties. The viewership for the Sunday game probably won't be available until sometime later today. But according to the Canadian Broadcast Company, 8 million people watched that game in Canada. And remember, it was early. Even on the East Coast, it was 8 o'clock Sunday morning when that hockey game started up. The women's gold medal hockey game, also between the U.S. and Canada, averaged 5.3 million viewers and peaked at 7.7. Big month for NBC. Remember, the other ones that also had the Super Bowl and the NBA All-Star game. Actor Robert Carradine has died. Famous for... Among, if you're my age, he was famous for Revenge of the Nerds. If you're 20 years younger, 30 years younger, he was famous as the dad in Lizzie McGuire.

She said, Lizzie McGuire, played by Hillary Duff, said there were so much warmth in the McGuire family. I always felt so cared for by my on-screen parents. I'll never, or I'll be forever grateful for that. Deeply sad to learn Bobby was suffering. The heart aches for him, his family, and everyone who loved him. Robert Carradine's daughter ever confirmed that her husband, sorry, that her father had died. She said, my sweet funny dad. never missed an opportunity to drive me to the airport to tell me how much he loved my homemade salad dressing is gone. It turns out that he was born 54 in Hollywood, part of a huge acting family, all of the carotines. The son of John Carradine, brother to Christopher and Keith Carradine, half-brother to David, Bruce, Michael Bowen, survived by a couple of kids, a few kids, actually. But the reports are that he suffered from bipolar disorder for a couple of decades and that he took his own life over the weekend. Peter Attia is going to leave CBS News. The celebrity doctor is going to step down as a contributor because of his email exchanges with Jeffrey Epstein. Best known for his social media content, one of those longevity guys. He told CBS he's going to resign effective immediately. In a statement, the spokesperson for the doctor said his contributor role was newly established and had not yet even meaningfully begun. As such, he stepped back to make sure his involvement and become a distraction from the important work being done at CBS. Now, Peter Attia's name does appear in the Jeffrey Epstein files, the ones that were released by the Justice Department. In the 2010s, the men traded jokes. They arranged times to meet. They chatted about... Jeffrey Epstein's health. Peter Attia has not been accused of any crimes. But the crime of really awful judgment. Because again, this was the 2010s. The timeline is Jeffrey Epstein was convicted of sex trafficking in 2008. And anybody who had contact with him after that needs to be looked at with his side eye. Peter Attia put a post up on X. He said that, His interactions with Epstein had nothing to do with his sexual abuse or exploitation of anyone. He said, I was not involved in any criminal activity. He was never on the plane, never on the island, never president at any sex parties. And he did apologize. And he said, I regret putting myself in a position where emails, some of them embarrassing, tasteless, and indefensible are now public. And that is on me. He says, I accept that reality and the humiliation that comes with it. So as Boston and the rest of the northeast gets out from under this massive blizzard that rolled through, another storm is coming in. Brief storm expected to move into the northeast about midnight and reach Pittsburgh by, gosh, 1 a.m., followed by Philadelphia, New York City a few hours later. The snow will end for Philly in New York, probably tomorrow morning by lunchtime.

Snow should end around 1 o'clock in Boston tomorrow. All three cities are expecting no more than an inch of snow to accumulate. But put that on top of the 24, 30 inches of snow that had come down in other places. And check your calendar. We're now in the fifth year of war between Ukraine and Russia. So. And when I'm not kissing babies, I'm stealing their lollipops. Here we go. The real problem is that our leaders are dumb. The other side never quits. What are you doing in my swamp? I'm not going anywhere. That is how you drain the swamp. I can imagine what can be and be unburdened by what has been, you know? Americans have always been going. Act presidential. But they're not stupid. A political blunder is when a politician actually tells the truth. Whether people voted for you were not. Swamp watch. They're all canon on them. Well, we know the state of the union address comes along at 6 o'clock tonight. This is the president's first state of the union of his second term. And one of the aspects of the state of the union has been the guests that are invited. Among other things, we actually saw the men's gold medal winning Olympic hockey team. landing in DC a short time ago. They are expected to be at the State of the Union address tonight. Other invitees include Nick Shirley of YouTube fame. One of Jeffrey Epstein's most prominent accusers, Virginia Jeffery's family, is expected to be there. We will also see Chloe Cole. She has made headlines as a detransitioner when it comes to the issue of transgender kids. Each congressional lawmaker is allowed to invite a guest. We've seen these before. A lot of times they get out there, the guests, the members of Congress get out there and try to prove a point politically one way or the other, depending on what they're doing by inviting a specific guest of some profile, some high profile or circumstance that they happen to be in. Law enforcement officials are going to be there. You're going to see victims of Jeffrey Epstein. You're going to see people impacted by immigration crackdown. You're going to see company executives, et cetera. For example, Jamie Raskin, top Democrat on the Judiciary Committee, Virginia Congresswoman Suha Sohah Sobriam said that they're going to be bringing family members of Virginia Jeffrey.

New York Republican Congresswoman Claudia Tenney is going to bring Wayne County Sheriff Robert Milby. Congressman from Ohio is going to bring Claremont County Sheriff there. Senator John Cornyn out of Texas is going to bring the National Border Patrol Council President Raul Paul Perez, I should say. And the bigger issue is not the guests. I mean, and they do play a role in this. The bigger issue is going to be the members of Congress who are not in the House. The House of Representatives is cleared out. House and Senate, members of Congress and the Senate are there seated, seated, I should say, to listen to the president give literally the state of the union. You've got members of the Joint Chiefs there. You've got the Supreme Court. You've got members of the cabinet, almost all of them. But Democratic leaders are going to, in many cases, not be there. Here's a few of them talking about why they're not going to be there. My expectation that members who choose to attend will be there in silent defiance. I will be there as he tries to put a spin on this economy. I think different people are responding to the lawlessness of the administration in different ways. So that was Hakeem Jeffries Minority Leader, Senator Elizabeth Warren, Senator Jamie Raskin. The guy in charge of the Democratic... committee than the Democratic National Committee is a guy named Ken Martin. And even if there are 36, 38, whatever the number is as of right now, members of Congress who say they are not going to attend the event tonight, they have these counter programming, as I mentioned. He said he had nothing to do with it. This is all personal decision. I'm not telling them what to do. I respect to whatever decision they make, whether they want to attend in person or whether they decide to stay away. The fact the matter is, as each has to make their own decision here. Of course, I don't begrudge the folks who have decided to actually not attend tonight. Why put yourself through listening to two hours of a bunch of lies from the president of the United States? And so, you know, the reality is I respect the decisions of every Democrat. They have to make their own decision. decisions here. I mentioned it earlier. It's an awful, it's an awful look for your party. Regardless of which party is going to do this, it's an awful look for your party to just not attend. You don't have to, you don't have to like it. You don't have to agree with it. You don't have to clap. You never have to stand up once. Listen, we, the general public, have the ability to just not pay attention. You don't want to watch it. You don't want to listen to it. Fine. There's all kinds of other things that you could do with your time. But if you're a member of Congress, If you're there to represent people in your district, kind of feel like you owe it to them to be there. Again, you don't have to like it.

They would be briefed at the White House, House and Senate leadership, as well as top members of the House and Senate Intelligence committees. And it's supposed to be taking place sometime today. It's not actually on the public record or the public schedule for the president or for the Secretary of State. But Politico said that there's a couple of people both on the congressional side and the White House side that have confirmed that this meeting is going to take place. The issue surrounding potential strikes on Iran right now is that the Pentagon has supposedly been raising concerns about whatever the plan might be. At this point, we've spent plenty of time talking about the military assets that have made their way to that part of the earth. that we've got a couple of aircraft carriers that are strategically positioned to help not only potential strikes on Iran directly, but also to defend allies in the region. Think Israel. Now, a couple of different officials, current and former military officials, have said that there are some... people in the Pentagon who are urging some caution, perhaps, that at least they're pointing out the potential risks of a major operation against Iran. And there's a difference between a major operation and a potential first strike against Iran in order to get their attention. Some of the headlines recently have been that Trump is thinking about a limited strike just to drive home the point to the Iranian leadership. We mean business. We will decapitate the leadership if we have to. From that point, depending on how Iran responds to that, then you talk about a major military strike. At this point, war plans that are being considered would carry risks. They always do. U.S. and allied casualties are always a potential risk. Depleted air defenses could be a risk if this is some sort of elongated version of military action against Iran. And you have an overtaxed force. Now, these are all common things. Anytime you talk about military action, those things have to come into play. But General Dan Cain, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, has been saying this apparently within the Defense Department and within the meetings with the National Security Council. And as I mentioned, the president has been pushing back on this. Yesterday, the president refuted these reports. He said, that General Dan Kane has advised the president. Numerous story, this is the quote from the truth social post, numerous stories from the fake news media have been circulating stating that General Dan Kane is against us going to war with Iran. The story does not attribute this vast wealth of knowledge to anyone and is 100% incorrect. General Kane, like all of us, would like not to see war.

But if a decision is made on going against Iran at a military level, it is his opinion that it will be something easily won. A couple of different places were the first to report, in fact, that he was cautious about talks when it comes to planning attacks against Iran, that especially compared to what we saw in early January when American forces went in and grabbed the president of Venezuela. that the option for a major strike against Ron brings with it a ridiculously much larger potential risk for higher casualties. Now, the administration is still negotiating. And they're hoping, they say, that they can block the pathway towards a nuclear weapon. But Iranian leaders have denied this. They say they're not going after a nuclear weapon. They say that curbing their ballistic missile program would hurt their potential sovereignty, their defense systems. Next meeting is actually scheduled for Thursday. Iran is expected to present its positions. to our tag team duo of diplomats in Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner. Iran has threatened already. They would retaliate as hard as they possibly could against any American attack, whether that would be sinking a U.S. warship, which their Ayatollah claims they can, or going after allies in the region. Again, see what I said at the beginning. Finger quotes, Israel. The State Department announced the evacuation of non-emergency personnel and the family members of staffers at the U.S. Embassy in Lebanon concerned that that might be a target in the event Iran wants to get into this. And any military operation, we know, carries risks. It's just the definition of what that is. But the concern, according to people who are in the know, the concern is that a sustained campaign... would be the most complex and dangerous military operation that we've seen under this president. And a spokesman for Dan Cain, again, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, says that his job is to provide civilian leaders with the military options, and that is always going to include a list of potential cons to go along with the pros. So that is going to be one of those things that... We shall see over the next couple of days. Again, the next scheduled discussions between the United States and Iran supposed to be Thursday. And then the Democrat. response given this year by Virginia's new governor Abigail Spanberger. Well, it is Tuesday, and I feel like true crime is coming on. The story is true. Sounds true. No, it sounds made up. I don't know. Gary and Shannon present. True Crime. Well, this, I'm going to give it to you right now. This does not have a great resolution to it. But there is at least a resolution. It's not great, but there's a resolution to this case. A long time ago, Michelle Hundley Smith, she was 38 years old when she left her home in Greensboro, North Carolina. She went Christmas shopping. About December 9th, about 830 at night, December 9th, 2001. She goes Christmas shopping at a nearby Kmart. Remember Kmart kids? Yeah. She was reported missing 22 days later. That's a weird thing. But she was reported missing on New Year's Eve. And... The troubling disappearance prompted multiple agencies around North Carolina. The Kmart that she was going to visit was across the state line in Virginia. So Virginia was involved. The FBI was involved. There were three kids that she left at home when she left. Her family last saw her when she left her home. Again, December 9, 2001.

She left in a green transport Pontiac van. And when she was reported missing, the DEA got involved. Like I said, the FBI, the North Carolina State Bureau investigations. The van was never found. Eventually, the family put up a Facebook page to try to search for her. And the Rockingham County Sheriff's Office worked on this cold case, this disappearance for more than two decades. Nothing. They even posted online asking for information about her case six years ago and five years ago. They announced a cash reward for information. And then on February 19th, just five days ago, six days, five days ago, the Rockingham County Sheriff's Office, Criminal Investigations Division got new information about her whereabouts. At this point, they've been pretty quiet about all of it. Detectives did follow up on the lead. And they did speak to Michelle the following day. She's alive. She's not that far away. But she doesn't want to be found. A missing person's flyer that was distributed at the time that she left said that she should be considered endangered and that she would have never left her kids by choice. 24 years later, I should say. She was found. And as I mentioned, the Rockingham County Sheriff's Department detectives spoke to her. She's in North Carolina. So she is not that far away from whence she disappeared. Her family has been notified that she has been located, but she didn't want her current whereabouts disclosed. Now... Michelle's cousin, Barbara Bird, said, I want to go outside and scream. She's alive. She's alive. My biggest question is, what happened all those years ago? What made you leave? What happened? She said, I never thought she was dead. I knew she was alive. It's just a feeling that I'd had my whole life. In a statement that was posted on Facebook a couple days ago, one of the kids, one of Michelle's kids said, these last couple of days have been a whirlwind of emotion. The daughter said, as far as my opinions and feelings on my mom, I am ecstatic, I'm pissed, I'm heartbroken, I am all over the map. Will I have a relationship once more with my mom? She said, honestly, I can't answer that because I don't even know. My initial reaction would be, yes, absolutely. But then I think of all of the hurt. But even then, my mom is only human just as we all are. Still, at this point, Michelle has not come forward and explained why she left back in December of 2001. And she, again, she didn't go very far. She stayed in the state of North Carolina. The daughter says on Facebook on this page that was dedicated to finding her mom, there were mother-daughter arguments, of course, but right now all I can remember are the smiles we shared the times together that were happy and the love I felt. Still no motive. The daughter says she knows how hard life could be but couldn't see her mother leaving and never contacting her family. Her daughter said she was battling cancer and didn't know how much time she had left to live. She also, this is Michelle's daughter, posted a poster that her own daughter made, Michelle's granddaughter. A message that grandma would be found. And the little 10-year-old wrote, we can help find her.

Everybody has thanked. The family has thanked the public for their support in all of this. But as of right now, there are no plans for them to get together that this woman left her kids 24 years ago has been found not far away. And at this point is not really willing to contact the kids. That's something weird that went on. Like I said, no great, it's a resolution. But it's not a great resolution to that story. All right.
