Indies Mark Zuckerberg, but I hope he wins, and I hope he wins huge. Tony Katz, 93 WIBC, good morning, good to be with you. If you've ever driven downtown, if you're head down Pennsylvania, heading the south, I believe it is, you, you, You pass an office that says Mark Zuckerberg attorney at law, and you're like, well, that can't be easy. Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg. Except this Mark Zuckerberg has been around a lot longer than that Mark Zuckerberg. And he, Mark Zuckerberg, his name being Mark Zuckerberg, wants to set up. A page on Facebook. Facebook keeps telling him that he's impersonating Mark Zuckerberg. And they're like, you can't have this page. So Indies Mark Zuckerberg keeps saying to Mark Zuckerberg, but I'm Mark Zuckerberg, to which Facebook says, we've met Mark Zuckerberg. We've seen him screw people out of billions. You're no Mark Zuckerberg. So Indies Mark Zuckerberg says, yes, I am. And now I'm suing you to prove it. files a lawsuit in Marion Superior Court accusing Meta, which is the parent company of Facebook, of negligence of breach of contract for continuously deactivating or suspending his social media accounts. I love every bit of this so much. Mark Zuckerberg, we've never met. I'm Tony Katz. How are you? I hope you win. I hope you win. What I want to know is, is what you win, just the ability to have your account open as Mark Zuckerberg? Would you accept the idea of it being not meta-CEO, Mark Zuckerberg? Like, would you accept some kind of qualifier added to it? Is there something financial about this? Now, according to the story over there at IBJ, this was an international story back in 2011. I don't recall it. In 2020, he was actually sued because of something having to deal with this. And when there was a scam that promised Mark Zuckerberg of Facebook would be giving you money, Mark Zuckerberg of Indy, he got all these calls saying, where's my money? Give me money. It's kind of nuts. That is nuts. So I want to know, are you looking for dollars? Or are you looking just to be able to have your account? Would you accept the account with an asterisk like you're Roger Maris? What's the story? Would love, love, love to know.

Here in Indianapolis, the Jerusalem prayer breakfast is coming. You always wonder what these things are for. What is their purpose? You went from Jerusalem to Indianapolis? Is this about politics? Is this about people? What is the story? Mike Speedy joins us next to discuss. Keep it here. Tony Katz 93, WIBC. Good morning. What is Toyota affordability? It all starts with buying smart. And your Toyota dealer has great deals available to qualified customers on reliable cars and SUVs, including the redesigned RAV4, spacious Grand Highlander, sporty Camrys, and Corolla's. It means driving for less, with efficient hybrid and plug-in hybrid options available throughout the lineup. extending your overall driving range and delivering great MPGs, saving you money at the pump. The chat room is open, and sometimes trolls get in. Why would anybody listen to, oh, I'm being called it's? Oh, because I'm Jewish. I got it. This is actually happening. It's in the chat right now. Just go to WIBC. Why would anybody listen to its opinion? That doesn't make sense. That's like listening to an Iranian talk about American culture, waste of time, and then followed up with Jew don't belong. Oh, gosh. Oh, your mom thinks I belong. Tony Katz 93 WIBC. Good morning. Good to be with you. Good time to transition into the Jerusalem prayer breakfast. There is this thing going on in Indianapolis. It's called the Jerusalem prayer breakfast. JPB for Jerusalem prayer breakfast. JPB Indiana.org is where you can get the information. Mike Speedy joins me right now. He has run for Congress. He has served in the General Assembly. He works with the prayer breakfast. It is a gathering. Christians, Jews, government, faith, delegations from around the world. It's taking place in Indianapolis. Let's start with a little bit of background here, Mr. Speedy. How does this organization come about? Sure. It was the result of a member of Knesset's idea in 2016, together with president, then president of Israel, Rivkin, Ruben Gallego Ridgen.

7:38

This would be a great idea to create this forum where Christians and Jews can get together and interact and create a dialogue. And it started, it conceived in 2016, and the first one was in 2017 in Jerusalem. And then I attended in 2018 and have been to six others since, both in Jerusalem and here in the States. Is the purpose of this some level of religious... conversation, is this political? What is, what was the, what was it seen as the value of the idea to begin with? And what does it become? It is an opportunity for Christians and Jews to get together, for Jews to feel supported by Christians, to see them prayer. It's not an opportunity for Christians to preach or proselyse, but simply to demonstrate God's love to them. And it's a way of Christians, public officials, from around the world, to demonstrate support by exercising their faith. for Israel, and it's a mixing of 50 or more different countries and Christians throughout the world, Jewish people throughout the world, to come together and to do this. And it's a beautiful thing to see. There's music, there's food, and obviously there's dialogue, and there's lots of prayer. Talking to Mike Speedy, he's served in the General Assembly. This is not a political... event that takes place here with this Jerusalem prayer breakfast. But as I have read about it, I've seen it as much more than just that. It's not a support thing is always nice. But as I have read about it and looked into it, it is much more about an understanding of a particular thing. thoughts, concepts, ideas, and needs engaging the idea that if we're talking to each other, we have a better chance to work together than not work together. What are some of the things that get worked on? So correct. There's a number of renowned Christian and Jewish speakers that speak throughout the breakfast, but there's also breakout sessions. They will talk about particular issues. It could be sometimes economic. What are the things that Israel needs to emphasize to be more independent in their economy in case hostilities come? There's how to invest in Israel and how Israel. There's opportunities for the rest of the world to understand how advanced Israel is in their technology, what they do in the humanitarian front for all of their various ethnicities and cultures and faiths in Israel, but also bordering.

10:30

what they have done to other communities or other countries around Israel. Just how they're a good citizen there and really the only democracy in the area. So it's an opportunity to be educated without the filter of lots of agendas just to be educated on what they really are. And the truth comes out. And it's a beautiful thing. Talking to Mike Speedy about the Jerusalem prayer breakfast is taking place next week. You can get more information at JPB for Jerusalem prayer breakfast, JPB Indiana.org. It's coming to Indianapolis is pretty interesting, right? This thing has traveled the globe. It has been in cities like Orlando and San Antonio. It has been in Rome and in Canberra, Australia. It has been in Estonia and in Ghana. It has... been a lot of places. Talk to me about levels of attendance and talk to me about how what the response is positive and negative because certainly anytime anybody's engaged in anything that is uplifting, there are some people who are negative. Right. The location of the prayer breakfast is kept private until you receive an invitation. You're vetted. We do that because we don't want, you know, there's security reasons. There's a lot, there's a cost to the security that's over and above any other typical conference. But it, I'd like to think that we're in Indiana because of a state house ministry that I support. called Public Servants Prayer. He's headed up by, it's a whole team, but it's headed up by Matt Barnes. And he went over there for the first Jerusalem prayer breakfast in 2017. And like I said, he introduced me to it. And I'd like to think that he had a role in bringing it here. And God obviously had the final say. But this is the heartland. So we'd like to say the Holy Land's coming to the Heartland. So. Yeah, I think that's a good reason. And in India, Hoosiers are great at expressing hospitality and making people feel welcome, I believe. I want to believe. And so I think that's also a reason why it's here in our capital next week as well. Jerusalem prayer breakfast, JPB Indiana.org, Mike Speedy. I appreciate taking the time to be with us. Interesting event. interesting event. It is my plan to swing by and kind of kind of see what the deal is. But I would also be the first person to say out loud that I dig events that are, you know, hey, let's make sure people are meeting people and engage with people. It's not the only one that has to happen. More of this kind of stuff. All across the board. More of Indianapolis being a place where these things happen, where they take place. That's everything. More of Indianapolis being seen as a place that can gather people, connect people. Agreement and disagreement is kind of secondary to the idea of Indianapolis being this.

13:49

this place of connection, being this place where people on an international level gather. I like that. I'm very down with that. President Trump yesterday talking about Venezuela and the taking out of a drug boat, you had a Venezuelan boat. supposedly carrying a tremendous amount of drugs into the U.S. Well, the videos out there of it being blown out of the water. Eleven people killed. And the president's like, yeah, yeah, yeah, we did that. We did that. We just took care of that. We handled that. It's done. The push against Maduro is interesting in Venezuela, and you've heard stories about it, and you have an active buildup of the Navy in the Caribbean because of it. The Trump administration aggressively building pressure against Maduro, U.S. guided missile cruiser spotted crossing the Panama Canal. It was the USS Lake Erie. Crossing the canal from the Pacific to the Caribbean Sea, eight Navy warships heading to the region. Trump's argument, the administration's argument is, this isn't a world leader. This is a drug trafficker, a human trafficker, going after the United States, and we're going to treat them like a criminal. I like the pressure campaign. Certainly the argument that Maduro didn't actually win the election. is 10,000% factual that this was all manufactured nonsense. Every last bit of it. There's no free elections in Venezuela. The opposition party doesn't stand the chance. So these moves, very interesting moves, is it going to lead to some level of fight? I can't answer that question. If it leads to Maduro not being in charge of Venezuela anymore, good. Very, very good. What is Toyota affordability? It's buying smart. Your local Toyota dealer has great deals available today on Tacoma, Tundra, and Forerunner with the space and features for any adventure. It means driving for less, with available hybrid options, delivering great MPGs without sacrificing power. And it means trading for more. Toyota is known for building long-lasting vehicles, meaning your truck will hold its value for years to come. Shop Toyota.com to find out more. Toyota. Let's go places. Time to fill up on the news. Tony Katz, 93 WIBC. Good morning. What is going on? Doubt futures down 31. It was a down day yesterday. NASDAQ futures up 157. This has to do with Google because they got huge news in their antitrust case. This was with the European Union, right?

17:08

Or was this, oh, this is the DOJ one. So the DOJ had proposed kind of like a Google breakup saying, hey, you should divest the Chrome browser. And a bunch of things is an antitrust case going back to 2023. The U.S. District judge, I mean, META, M-H-T-A, interesting dude. This is the guy who, I think he ruled against the deeming rule regarding cigars. Interesting, dude. ruled against these consequences that were proposed by the DOJ. Now Google does not have to divest Chrome, and therefore people are looking at the stock and saying this is fantastic right here. This is absolutely terrific. So the stock has exploded. It's been up 6% and now you know why things are moving the way they are in a whole host of places. And I know what you're going to say. You're talking about the NASDAQ and not the doubt. Would you just please? This is my take. Yours could be different. I invite you to tell me why your take is better and maybe it is and I'll use that one. But anyway, I got to tell you about what's going on with Google. Meanwhile, Macy's is up 10%. I can't do the math on this. Macy's, which closed stores, is up 10% in its sales. Retail sales are up. GDP is up. Yet, so is the price of everything. Gas prices are down. Everything else is up. Everybody knows they're up. They're paying more for insurance and a whole host of things. And yet somehow we're still buying. We're still spending like it's our job. It's crazy. Crazy. I am amazed by and Macy's of all places. The place if you think of as an apartment store, a place that wants to actually get back to doing smaller scale department stores in different types of locations. Meanwhile, oil prices $64.15 on the West Texas crude, $67.80 on the Brent crude, both of those down a little bit from yesterday. The 10-year treasury at 4.271%. We did have it going down a little bit. That's now over. It's still hanging out in this same spot.

19:43

Apple shares are also trading higher in the pre-market. So this has to do with how they're going to be sharing technologies, if you will. There's a bunch happening going on and it is affecting the markets all sorts of ways. But as we've often discussed, what's happening on Wall Street, very different than what's happening in Midwest Main Street. My Midwest Main Street take from the anecdotal, people who share information with me, talk to me is that, yeah, people are out there spending, but still try and find help. Try and find people who work the gig. It is getting impossible as it has ever been. It has not gotten better. It has gotten far worse. You just can't find them. At all. My kid, during the summer, right, in between college, worked at a convenience store. All right. Summer gig, take the money, sure, fine. I'm telling you that this is him telling it to me. I don't know what I did. All I did was show up on time and do my job. Show up on time and do your job is 97% of the gig. And he's confident that if he had decided I'm not going back to college, he would be running and name the store in about three weeks. Does anybody doubt it? Show up on time and do your job? This is now the great differentiator. So it doesn't compute. that we have these issues, yet we see these numbers. It is very schizophrenic. And I cannot square the circle right now. And by the way, I should admit that this has been my problem for now four years. We go back to Biden and we're like, the economy is awful. Things are rough. Everything's so expensive. And yet malls were full and restaurants were full. I said, I don't understand what's happening. And still, That is applying. So are you telling me that it's a question of massive debt? Or are you telling me it's a question of zero savings? No one expects anything to go bad. No one cares about a rainy day. I believe that, by the way, when I drive around Carmel. I drive around Carmel and you see the cars in the driveway and the things in the garage and the houses and you're like, These people must have debt through their eyeballs. There's just no way. There's no way. Someone. Someone give me a thought on which way this goes. I would love it. Tony Katz, 93 WIBC, good morning. Oh, I know this. Oh, I know this. It's time to play America's favorite game. What the heck is that television theme song? Tony Katz, 93 WIBC. Good morning. Good to be with you. Here's how we play our game. A producer Carl picks a television theme song from yesteryear. I have to guess what it is. I can phone a friend if I choose. By the way, your food is coming to you. And if you need a code, your code is 90. 9-0, producer Carl, just so you know. I sent him egg McMuffins and hash browns.

23:19

And I sent Matt Bear some oatmeal. Oh, what is this television theme song? Yeah, I think the chat room is right, because that's the direction I was going in. But let me, let me, uh, just in case, let me phone a friend. Matt Bear, what is that television theme song? That is the Wonder Years, Tony. Good effort. One with a moose. That is the theme to Northern Exposure. Right. Yes, I was, I feel good. I'm like, I knew what that was. And the chat room had it too. And so I appreciate them quite a bit knowing which end is up. The chat room is very, very wise. By the way, if you go to YouTube and you go to WIBC and you live stream the show, you can actually be a part of the chat room right there. Very, very easy to do. On Tony Katz today, at noon, more on what's going on off the coast of Venezuela and the Caribbean. Will we see any war action with Maduro? And how come we're not seeing more action going on with China? That's the question before us. All I'm saying is that if China is working with Mexican cartels to launder money, we got to put an end to that. And then there was a really interesting piece by the retired general. And so I will. I will get to that as well regarding how Xi Jinping views Vladimir Putin. But as I said, the moment would come, that's already been happening, where everybody on the left will simply tell you the problem in Chicago is Indiana. The problem is all those red states and all their guns. Well, the most aptly named Senator Dick Durbin. Now, crime has been, violent crime, the levels have been going down in Chicago, as they have in many cities across the United States. According to FBI crime statistics, there's a quote that's often attributed to former Chicago mayor Rahm Emanuel, who says, it's great when the numbers go down, but people don't walk around saying, I feel 22% safer. What do you think people feel like is happening in Chicago? Well, I tell you one thing they feel like. They feel like they're too damn many guns in Chicago, and they're coming in from other states like Indiana. The federal government want to help us stop this flow of weapons into our city of Chicago and state of Illinois. We know they're coming in from state with lax laws when it comes to firearms, and the federal government can do something about it. What has his president done about it? He's eliminated, dramatically eliminated the people who are supposed to make sure these gun dealers are held to the law. Indiana is not responsible for your failed state, Senator Dick Durbin, your failed city, Chicago, your inability to handle your problem.

26:41

Just like Indiana gun laws are not responsible for what's happening in Indianapolis, which is a cultural issue, that the mayor Joe Hogsett refuses to address because he's a coward, because the city county council won't address because they're cowards. It is impossible that these people can actually look us in the eye and say, well, Indiana gun laws, it's about you and your failures of leadership. You're not good enough. Fight me on it. Go on City County Council. Fight me on it. What do you got? When do you want to do it? Where do you want to do it? You want to do it public forum debate? You want to do it right here on the show? Pick the street corner. The issue is not guns. The issue is your failure to address why it is that people feel the need to shoot each other. What is happening in certain pockets of our city and whether or not we prosecute the people who are guilty of the crimes. The end. Nothing more, nothing less. It is that easy. But there's not a city county counselor who's going to take me up on it. Oh, no, no. The communists will. But I don't debate communists. You people are such murderous letches. I would never lower myself. Anybody who's an actual Democrat and not a not a commune in waiting? And he's not even in waiting. Anybody want to argue this? Of course they're going to blame Indiana. And it is up to the General Assembly and up to the governor to push back with such force that these other governors don't know what hit them. I'm talking about getting very, very loud. You allow Indiana to take this hit and take this hit and take this hit. Indiana will suffer on a tourism level. It will suffer on an event level. You cannot have that. You need to fight back on it. I want to see Senator Banks and Senator Young getting in Dick Durbin's face. Just who the hell do you think you are? I want it to happen on television. I wanted to happen in the well of the Senate. And I don't want to hear that Jim Banks or Todd Young are too busy. Listen to me, guys. You know I'm right. So what are you doing? Get out there and get aggressive on it. And if Governor Braun thinks, I'm not going to bother, Governor Braun is wrong. You hear me, Josh? Get in front of this. Punch these people in the face where they deserve it. Do not allow Indiana to take hits for no reason. That's nuts. Ah. Your McDonald's is showing up there, producer Carl. You have to use code 98. Since when did they start doing a code? You need a code in order to get your food. Tell them the pearl is in the river. That's the phrase that pays. How can we don't do that? How can we don't do a phrase that pays? We should do that. We should offer it up on social media. And then if I say it during the day, the ninth caller gets a free bowl of soup. I always wanted to be a wacky morning zoo. Now's my chance. Matt Bear can come up with the phrase every day. Lord only knows.

29:57

Lord only knows what's going to come of it. So, Matt, so Carl, you have to go downstairs and you have to get the McDonald's for everybody and give Matt his oatmeal and then take what you want and then everybody else can fight for the rest. I'd rather have an egg McMuffin. Oh, then have an Egg McMuffin. Okay, go on. I didn't get you oatmeal. I want that egg. I ordered you oatmeal. No, I'll eat that tonight. It would be fun. Take the Egg McMuffin and dip it in the oatmeal. Oh, that's a great idea. Right? That's it. This is your health moment brought to you by Tony Katz and Matt Bear. Washboard abs, baby. Yep. That's what I've got me. Some washboard abs. Oh, we all. What is Toyota affordability? It's buying smart.
