It's a layoff. Some people, they're just getting relocated. This is all on the corporate side. A thousand corporate employees. Tony Katz 93 WIBC. Good morning. They're combining more of their global technology and product teams. So this is all AI people. This is what it is. We're not debating. It's this reliance and this belief that you can do without the people and do without that overhead and therefore you can get better efficiencies and they're all giving it a go. Is it going to work? I'm no idea. But they're doing it. They're doing it pretty dang aggressively as well. This story, according to the Wall Street Journal, in some cases we've had different teams working on similar problems. And so there. going to consolidate and they're going to put it into the AI Google machine and that's going to somehow solve all their problems. Maybe. No guarantees. But it is part of a trend of downsizing that we're seeing. And this can play in the economy and I would argue does play in the economy and it'll have the simpleton saying, oh, Trump is costing us jobs. If we're not going to be honest about what AI does and how it is going to replace jobs and how people are going to put massive investments into it and therefore they can't afford all the people and they believe that this will supplant their need for all these employees, if people are not aware of this and thinking about this from a job market perspective and figuring out how they can work around that, be involved in things that can't change that. Well, then everyone's being foolish. If we're not honest about what it is, we're seeing. And for people saying, you know, it's a great time to get into the trades, I don't disagree. But not every trade is the right trade to get into. There's been a lot of push on trades. Certainly we need more of a lot of things, but some things you're going to find to have a level of saturation. So it isn't, this is not the time for reactionary movement. This is the time to ask yourself, where is it that I need to be? that allows me to provide a value for myself and my family. I don't think about this. This is radio, people. You don't think AI is coming for radio? Of course it is. It's going to come from music radio first. Talk radio is a tougher thing to handle. And so this commencement speaker at UCF is getting booed off the stage. She's in real estate. We are living in a time of profound change. That's an understatement, right? Profound change. Change is exciting, very exciting. And let's face it, change can be daunting. The rise of artificial intelligence is the next industrial revolution. They booed her. What happened? This was to graduates in media and communications. Now, I could talk about this or I could just let producer Carl go. We haven't even discussed this story. If you graduated with a degree in communications and don't understand your job can be taken by AI, you got lied to by everybody up and down the chain. Don't blame the commencement speaker for noticing. Next, you're going to tell me you didn't know that your gender studies degree wasn't going to get you a good job. It's a gender studies degree. You knew it was garbage when you said, I'm going to get a gender studies degree. We live in the real world. The AI is here, and there are a lot of people in the world of communications and in the world of media that are relying on it. We've been talking for over a year now about how Hollywood is wholly screwed. It's going to write the scripts. It's going to replace the actors. I had people tell me that's never going to happen. It's happening right now. When SAGA after went on strike, this was part of the conversation. You're booing. What? I graduated with a degree in communications. I'm guaranteed a job. No, you're not boo-boo. And if you think you've got it rough, wait for the accountants. Oh, that's going to be rough. Rough. Rough. The only people who are definitively going to be safe are the lawyers, because the lawyers are going to draft legislation that says you can't use AI for legal work. They're going to protect themselves. That's exactly what's going to happen. And every lawyer in the sound of my voice knows it. And if you want to lie to yourself or lie to others, Kit, and that is on you. But we all know you're full of crap. Is the rise of artificial intelligence the next industrial revolution? Maybe. Is it going to replace jobs? Yes. Is it already replacing jobs? Yes. Will it replace more jobs tomorrow? Yes. And you better be aware of what's happening in those spaces and how you can navigate around them. Maybe if you're sending your kids to college, you don't let them go to college to just get that basic degree in blank. Especially if that job is going to be replaced by the technology in three years. Maybe you shouldn't go to college just yet, guys.

Maybe you should wait. Maybe you should hold. Maybe you should take a year and get a job and see some things and learn some things and figure out another opportunity. No sense in spending $30,000 in a first year, 50, 60, or depending on where you're going, maybe more to find yourself. You don't need to spend 50,000 a year to find yourself. The 10-year treasury right now at 4.483. That's a jump. And you might see this jump just a little bit more. A gold right now as we take a look at it, $4,700 an ounce on the gold. Silver is at $86.90. That has been a little bit of a climb over the past couple of days. A Bitcoin price as we speak at 80,296. What's the story? Wholesale inflation up 6%.

Yeah. Hold on. Let me say it again with a bit of an exasperation for all of the influencer class who told us everything was great. Yeah. They're not eating that tariff costs anymore. The energy costs more. It costs more to bring things in. It costs more to make things. It would have been very nice if the White House had done a job of explaining here's why we're going to war with a round. Here's what it's going to mean for us. Here's the short-term pain. What possibly are we discussing here that could tell us that we can lower rates? Are we all out of our minds? By the way, I said it was up. 6%. The producer price index for final demand increased 1.4% in April. Now, there can be revisions. Right now, the market's going to react while President Trump is in China. talking to Xi Jinping. This is the Indiana Business Research Center at IU-Kelly School Business. 39,000 people moved into Indiana last year, outpacing neighboring states and the national average and population growth. Largest counties, Boone and Hendricks. Take that, Hamilton. Your day is done, losers. Tony, where do you live? I don't like to talk about it. Clark County. The third fastest growing. This is good stuff. These are great things to see. And there are more and more stories about businesses saying that they can't survive. Washington State is now... in this group of states like New York and like California. They can't last. K-I-R-O, which is the local, I believe it's the ABC affiliate out there, saying that one in four Washington employers are considering leaving the state. One in four. We should go get them. I do not know what the governor is waiting on, but this is getting ridiculous. I need to be named the ambassador, the trade ambassador for Indiana. Our story is a good one to tell. It's just not being told. Everybody tells Florida story that Ken Griffin is going to move things to Miami and not to Indianapolis is nuts. Now you say to me, Tony, it's Miami. Yes, they're going to have some lovely weather in the winter. That's fantastic. But this is the place to be. This is the place to at least have some representation. This is the place that has the graduates you actually want because they might actually show up to class. What do you want? Do you want the winners or do you want second place? You could choose Hoosiers or you could choose Hurricanes. Winners or second place? What do you want, Ken Griffin? Now you say to me, Tony, that's pretty cold-tarded. I'll say to you, I'm trying to get your attention, sir. Do I have it now? Excellent. You should really consider Indiana. We have a great story to tell. These businesses out of Washington State, you should consider Indiana. We have a great story to tell. Is it going to be as a landscape beautiful, topography beautiful? Probably not. Probably not. Are you going to be able to survive and grow and thrive and have a great time? Yeah. Yeah, you are. Are you going to be able to live your life and raise your family and actually hire people who want to show up and do the job and take pride in their work? Well, then this is the spot to do it. And if you come to Indiana and you don't bring any of that political nonsense garbage trash with you, if you're willing to say out loud that Katie Wilson is a disgusting commie and I don't want any part of that and you vote that way, well, then you're going to have a great time.

Because we don't want any of that disgusting commie garbage either. And we want to bring in the people who believe the same. We're not going to agree on every subject. But as long as we can agree that leftists cannot run a city, cannot run a state, and bring sizzling hot garbage and despair everywhere they go, well, then we have a chance. Now you say to me, Tony, what about Indianapolis? Indianapolis has got a problem. Luckily, it has a state that is able to counter those problems, and that's why you see growth in Indianapolis. Through effort and through work, we can make great changes in Indy, including to the electoral set. But it's going to involve a Republican Party that actually wants to work at it. That's going to mean bringing people in who are willing to push them to the work. But still, on a state level, we keep the low-life commies at bay. We don't have Mom Donnies and Katie Wilson's. We have Jesse Brown, admittedly, a Kaffia wearing tool. However... We work hard to make sure he stays very much outside of anything that we would call influence. But here you can have influence. You, business owner, can have influence and hire and grow. And who said you have to be in Indianapolis? Have you seen Muncie? Ball stayed at your disposal? You want to be part of what they're building in West Lafayette? You want to go down to Bloomington? How about what we're trying to do with the Bears up in Lake County? Dear Lord, have you seen Jeffersonville? You want to do manufacturing? Have you met Elkhart? We got opportunities galore. Someone's going to go sell that story.
