Of course, Hammer and Nigel are on vacation today. My name is Casey Daniels, and that is Jim that is hanging out with me in the studio yesterday. So much attention and energy paid to what was going on in the Middle East and the peace deal and what President Trump was saying and who he was meeting with and all of his travel. Of course, we'll be talking more about that coming up throughout the show. But one thing that... kind of slipped by. Shockingly slid under the radar because I thought I would have seen a lot more about this. It was covered a little bit, but not much. President Trump asked President Erzog to give Benjamin Netanyahu a pardon and then praised him for being a wartime leader. With you, I guess maybe something could happen to change my mind. Somebody that's really stupid gets into office and wants to do really bad things, but that's about it. We don't think we're going to have that happen. I hope we're not going to have that happen. And this man is a good man right here. These two men are good men right here. Hey, I have an idea. Mr. President, why don't you give him a pardon?
Tell by that reaction. Yeah, there was kind of a mixed, mixed reaction in the crowd. There was some cheers and there were some woes. And I think that seems like that was possibly in a... off-the-cuff comment by Trump. Like, that was not planned. So this was in the Israeli parliament when Trump was giving his speech, all, you know, the entire world looking upon this, every news outlet covering it live. And, you know, for some context to this, Benjamin Netanyahu has been accused of corruption in his government. And there's been a bunch of Israeli Supreme Court rulings about this. And the Israeli Supreme Court said, yeah, it doesn't matter that he's prime minister. We can go ahead and prosecute him while he's in office. And so this is that. been going on and for Trump to come out and say that, hey, why don't you give this guy a pardon? Very provocative and unlike anything we've seen from politicians before. But in some ways, in some ways, I kind of, I kind of respect Trump for saying the quiet part out loud. Because regardless of what you think, politicians have been doing this kind of thing for a thousand years. They've been making back... He just put it out there. He just was just up front and honest about it. Yeah. He said on Air Force One during a press gaggle, he said, I didn't want to bring up the pardon, but it was just a perfect spot. It was good timing. And again, being honest with ourselves, politics is all about favors. What are you doing for me? And what am I getting in return? What do you want for me? And that sort of thing. So... He just did Benjamin Netanyahu a massive favor with this. Mm-hmm. I just... I think it's really interesting the timing on that. It was almost like he was reading the room and he decided, yep, everybody's in a good mood. This thing is happening. Let's put it out there right now. Not by accident. If Trump did this, he did it very intentionally. Now, he might not have told Benjamin Netanyahu or he might not have told other people that he was going to do this. So it could have been a surprise to them. But Trump's no dummy. Everything he does is very strategic. And sounds like Benjamin Netanyahu owes him one now. So we've got the border czar in town. He was in town. Tom Homan? Yeah. Borders'ar? We'll talk about that coming up. This is the Hammer and Nigel show. It's 93 WIBC. What is Toyota affordability? It all starts with buying smart.
