It's the Hammer and Nigel weekend show on 93 WIBC. Governor Braun signing the bill that could bring the Chicago Bears to Indiana. Now, Illinois lawmakers making their moves as well to keep them. But all you need to know about this thing that Braun signed is it's going to make it extremely. I don't want to say easy for the bears to make their decision, but it certainly facilitates, if they should, make the decision to relocate to Indiana easier. This is a win-win for the state of Indiana. I know other folks will disagree because of taxpayer this and taxpayer that. I'm not talking about that. We can have that discussion. But for somebody that is fueled off of revenge and spite the way that I am, this is a win-win. Because worst-case scenario, the bears go back to Chicago. But you know what? That legislature has had to up the ante and probably get out of their comfort zone. Because Governor Fat Pig and Moran Mayor Johnson haven't been paying the bears the attention they deserve. And just like anytime you've got a really good employee that, let's just say, hasn't reached a contract extension yet. You got to make them pay. You got to go for it, baby. And that's what the state of Indiana is making.
the city of Chicago do. Now, best case scenario, the Bears come to Indiana and it helps revitalize the Hammond area. And again, I get, you know, well, what about the taxes? What about the folks that don't like football? Are they going to get stuck with the bill? We can have that discussion, and I'm not saying you're wrong. But. Hammond, if they're able to land an NFL franchise, are you kidding me? That's great. And I don't think part of the deal is I don't know if Indiana taxpayer dollars would go to pay for construction. Of course, they would need the infrastructure paid for to use that word again, facilitate a gigantic football stadium being stuck right in the middle of Hammond. They're going to need to spend money on that. I don't know that the Indiana taxpayers will pay for something like this. I don't think anybody would go for that here in Indy anyway. Right. Well, here in Indy, fine. Indiana. But I feel like once rubber meets the road and that stadium groundbreaking starts, and for eight weeks a year, counting the preseason games, nine to ten weeks a year, you've got the bars all full. the restaurants all full, the hotels all full and Hammond, you'll take that, right? You'll take that. Oh, of course. And look, I don't know if it's going to pay off or not. Again, this is more of a discussion other folks have. But I love the spite. I love upping the ante so much that Governor Fat Pig has to walk away from the buffet table for five minutes and actually address what's happening with the beloved bears. Because as much of a disaster as J.B. Pritzker and Mayor Johnson are, They don't want to be known as the politicians that let the bears leave. So they're going to get Chicago stuck with a bad bill just so folks could drive further to Arlington Heights than they would to Hammond, Indiana. A drive from where Soldier Field is to Hammond, Indiana. The proposed site is like 20 minutes. That's all it is, 20 minutes. Arlington Heights is further away, but it's in the state of Illinois. So when it comes right down to it, your gut feeling this is probably not going to happen for Hammond in the state of Indiana. Right. I mean, that's my gut feeling. I appreciate the effort Hammond put out. I love that they're trying to revitalize that area. That's great. And the state legislature is pulling out all the stops as well. Right. But the Bears get final say. So just because Governor Braun puts pen to paper that says, we're going to fund a new stadium. The Bears still have a right to say, but we're not coming to Hammond. We're going to go back to Chicago because they came to the table and we're going to stay in the state of Illinois. It's all about leverage. And look, I know a lot of you don't necessarily have strong feelings about the current governor of Indiana, Mike Braun.
Maybe you don't like what happened with property taxes or whatnot. But he has outplayed fat pig like a fiddle here. It's not even in close. And if you're a diehard football fan in Chicago, and the Bears are one of those franchises that have diehard fans. We're talking Steelers. We're talking Packers. We're talking Chicago Bears. They're all in that same category of it's not just a football team. It's something that bonds your family. You can't be the politician that lets them leave. And Braun has been playing fat pig like a fiddle. Now, let's see if we can apply that same strategy to property taxes and costs of living here in Indiana. Big story here in the U.S. is that a former U.S. president doing a deposition today about what he knew about Jeffrey Epstein, Slick Willie, Bill Clinton, Talking today, Nige, and it sounds like he's just kind of playing that line of, yeah, I knew who Jeffrey Epstein was, but I didn't know he liked it. Pretty good. Thank you. He's acting like he didn't know that Jeffrey Epstein was a pedo. They can't get him on Jeffrey Epstein. They can't do anything about it. They want him on the record. This is private behind the doors kind of thing here. But like I've been maintaining this whole time. the Clinton Foundation, the email servers. That's what you need to go get the Clintons on. You're not going to have Bill Clinton stand up and say, yeah, the pool with a 13-year-old girl. Yeah, you got me, you got me. Hillary Clinton, Hillary, Hillary drove me to it. You're not going to get him on that. It's not going to happen. Hillary was going to throw in Bill under the bus yesterday. Yeah. I don't know. Ask my husband. Right. She wasn't denying it. She wasn't coming to the defense of her husband. I'm not saying. Nothing happened. I'm just saying that they're not going to get him on it. Right. Well, that's the whole thing, right? We're sitting here talking about this. The headlines are salacious former president. That's deposition. We all know. Nobody's going to get arrested for this. Nobody's going to jail. And it's been how long now since Jeffrey Epstein's been dead? How long since Ghislaine Maxwell's been locked up? And nobody's been arrested for having sex with a child. Nobody. There have been some firings. Prince. People have left their jobs. Prince Andrew. But his wasn't because of having sex with a kid. Yeah. It was spilling government secrets to Jeffrey Epstein. Almost like Al Capone getting busted for tax evasion. Yep. But nobody is going to be arrested. And that's what's disgusting. That's what people are so ticked off about. Now, here to talk a little bit. about how he feels after his hard, long day of depositions. And I think he's in a good mood. I think he's happy that it's over. Ladies and gentlemen, A.I. Bill Clinton. Is Epstein's Island still open? Daddy has got some money in his pocket and some Viagra in his system. Uh-huh. Oh, and do me a favor. Don't tell my evil bitch of a wife. She kills people. Uh-huh. Anyway.
Bring on the hookers and blow. Bring me all the thick interns and bring on the French fries. Slick Willie is about to be in heat. A.I. Clinton out. A.I. Bill Clinton right there, recapping his long day of depositions. According to a new report, Nige, more Americans are choosing to dine alone. And what I'm talking about fancy restaurants here? We're talking about pizza huts, taco bells, and KFCs. Americans choosing to dine alone. Fox News says the shift appears to be driven more by self-care, personal preference, mental well-being than it is loneliness or budget issues. Self-care. You're eating. Like a pig at Taco Bell and you're worried about self-care. I don't get it. I usually, if I'm eating fast food, I order it to go and bring it back home or to work or whatever. Now, I'm not adverse to going to a restaurant by myself. I remember I was getting my tire changed. My tires changed on the man van a couple of years ago on Michigan Road. It was either bigot tires or bell tires or something. And I walked. Down 421 to Red Robin. I don't think Red Robin is still open anymore. It's going to take three hours. I walked to Red Robin and had a meal and a couple beers by myself. I bet you felt better afterwards. I certainly did. I bet it was relaxing. And I walked up the sidewalk. It was a, you know, Michigan Road, very busy street. Right. But I'm not going to, I don't know that I'm going into Taco Bell to sit down by myself and have. Well, I don't know. Taco Cantina, the Taco Bell Cantina down there on Washington. Right. Washington Street serves beer. Yes. So I guess my criteria is do you serve or not? So basically you just want to go to a bar by yourself, which I am in favor of. I know you are in favor of. Don't judge me. I went to Vegas by myself a year ago. I remember. And I was a one-man wolf pack just sitting there at the bar. B-Sing, I almost said something, B-Sing with the bartender drinking shots of Woodford and Jamison. I don't mind it. I don't either. I love it. I, at this age, I don't care. And I kind of understand this because let's be honest. And I think ladies would agree with me, sometimes you just need a little break. Sometimes your better half can just get on your absolute last nerve. You still love them. You still care for them. But sweet Jesus, you need to get the hell away for just a little bit. And then there's nothing worse than some random guy sitting next to you or bellied up, you know, three or four chairs down that wants to. Just chat you up. Oh, God, you and I experienced that recently. Oh, my God. We walked over to a local venue around the station, just trying to have a little. We were trying to talk business. Yeah, a little business meeting. And some dude just wouldn't shut the hell up. And that's after we got trash thrown at us from some lunatic in the parking lot. It's good times over here at the Urban One building. Uh-huh.
It's the Hammer and Nigel show. My name is Nigel. Jason Hammer is here. We go straight to the hotline and bring on Bright Bart Politics Reporter. Olivia, Rondo, second time on the show in as many weeks. Olivia, how are you? I'm great. Thank you, Hamer, Nigel, for having me back on in such a short time. Anytime. Well, I know you've been covering the State of the Union address. There's so many angles to President Trump's speech to the nation earlier this week. Your 30,000 foot perspective from what you saw from the president, and then the fallout, the backlash from the lunatic. Democrats afterwards. What did you think? Well, the backlash was just amazing. But what Trump was saying, and I think we can summarize the main point in two categories, the laundry list of things that he told Congress to do, which it actually was kind of a short list, relatively shortlist, about five things that he wanted Congress to act on. And then the emotional side of bringing out angel moms, of bringing out veterans, injured veterans, of giving medals of freedom to Andrew Wolfe, who was one of the injured national guardsmen here in D.C. and one to Sarah Betstrom's family, the one who was unfortunately fatally shot in the attack in D.C. not too long ago. So I think that for the Democrats, especially the ones who were forcibly removed, like Representative Al Green, the second year in a row being forcibly removed, guys, just get it together. You guys can stand up for the parents who lost their children to illegal migrant crime. You guys can stand up for the injured veterans. Well, I would hope so, but they actually can't. What do you think Hakeem Jeffries was thinking when he saw that taking place? When he saw Al Green come in with his props, when he saw Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib pulling their act. Because it kind of felt like heading into the state of the union, Olivia. Hakeem Jeffries was almost like, listen, if you're going to be somebody making a clown of yourself, go to one of these other protests because we don't want to blow what we have, blow the momentum heading into the midterms here. At least that's the... feeling that I got, but then he saw some of his own members act like idiots. What do you think Hakeem Jeffries was thinking? No, I actually agree exactly with your assessment. You know, the Democrats were actually a little bit pragmatic in this way where they set up alternative events for, you know, those who want to boycott and those who want to make noise and those who want to act like a clown, as you said, there was an alternative Democrat events to the State of the Union, or they could have just sat and gone to Abigail Spanberger's response to the State of the Union, which took place, you know, right after in Virginia, you know, so the fact that Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib, Al Green, and others, decided to stay and play monkey and act and you know for no pun intended without green sign but they they decided to say it be clowns essentially and ruin or you know maybe add to the ruin of their chances in the midterms because you know there's a lot of moderate democrats out there you know despite contrary belief who i think would feel sympathetic to the parents of irena ziritska the girl who was murdered from ukraine she came here and was murdered on a bus last year
And, you know, the Democrats refused to stand and honor her parents. They refused to stand and honor a whole number of people that Trump was offering, you know, awards to, well-deserved awards to. Right. I think John Fetterman was one of them, was he not? Like, John Fetterman was one of the few Democrats we saw standing up and clapping. And he got slack for it. And all he did was stand up and was respectful. And I believe he even, I believe he might have shaken Trump's hand on the way out of the State of the Union. And, you know, his own party members hate him. for not overtly hating Republicans. And I think he's quite a, he's changed his tune in the last couple of years as quite a moderate guy. We could get back to more of the clown show that was the Democrat response during and after the State of the Union Address. Go back to that ancillary party. Whatever that thing the Democrats did, that was the alternative thing to the State of the Union address. What is it with Democrats and furries? I don't get the – I don't get the furries. It's always with the furries and the Democrats, and then you have Joy and Reed, the race-baiting hate woman that's – that's on stage and doing an interpretive song with some lady? What was that pathetic display from the Democrats? I think we just all have to agree that Democrats are just grown-up theater kids who weren't that popular in high school, and now they're using their platform to live out their high school musical dreams with these costumes, these furries, these performances. And some of the people that attended the alternative Democrat State of the Union were actually actors themselves. I saw Robert De Niro was there, Mark Ruffalo, was there, both. very well-known afterwards, but both with a very left-wing, far-left progressive streak. We had other characters. Don Lemon was there. Stacey Abrams was there. Just a whole cast of losers, essentially. Olivia, one of the things that I've seen on social media, and listen, I'll tip my hat because I do think it kind of makes sense, if we're being honest, for the Republicans making fun of this alternative event, many of them were the same ones cheering for the alternative halftime show just a couple weeks ago. Like doing alternative events is kind of like the current trend, is it not? Hey, good point. I think that it's really funny how a lot of people... freaked out over the Super Bowl show because I'm not going to name names here, but it's been the same influencers and personalities year after year saying, I'm not watching the NFL this year. They're woke. I'm not watching the Super Bowl halftime show this year. It's woke. Every of you guys tweet about it, I guess now it's actually good that you guys did something about it and made an alternative to it. And the alternative was Kid Rock whose lyrics are not that PG-friendly anyway. But, you know, go for it, guys. Bright Bar Politics reporter Olivia Rondo.
covering the State of the Union address this week, still one of the biggest stories. And for me, excuse me, the story is not necessarily what Donald Trump said in his marathon speech, his record long speech, is addressed to the nation. But the real story is the Democrats and the ensuing reaction and temper tantrums that were thrown during and after the address there. I mean, that's the real story, isn't it? That's a story that's going to be played back on a loop-to-loop reel during the midterms here in a few months. Yeah, guys, and I think we even have to pay more attention. I don't think the media has really picked a part of Virginia Governor Abigail Spanberger. She delivered the Democrat response, the official response, not the furry party. She was delivering the action response from the Democrat Party. And it was equally ridiculous. It didn't come with all the theatrics. But it came with, it was full of lies, essentially. It was accusing Donald Trump of not working for the people because. of the ICE and the immigration enforcement in this administration. And then she said something that was I think would be even insane for the average Democrat. She called illegal aliens aspiring Americans or people who aspire to be Americans in this big sympathetic, drawn-out speech about how Trump is just hurting these people who aspire to be Americans. Oh, really? Oh, really? Well, why don't we just, what's the point of having borders anyways, Governor? What's the point? If anyone who just aspires to be American should be able to come here with no harm, no foul, then I guess what's the point of even having? a country, guys. And because Trump went so long in that speech, we didn't see Abigail Spanberger appear on television until like 1115, 1120, which at that point, most of the country is tuned out. Exactly. So I'm not actually sure how many people tuned in, but I think that the ones who did were probably concerned just because of the rhetoric she was using and she was demonizing the federal agents. I think that that is very... just not responsible these days. And I'm not saying we can't, we can't criticize police. We're Americans. We pay taxes. We absolutely can and should criticize every facet of our government. However, when we're in a time where ICE agents or people who are being mistaken for ICE agents, just, you know, government employees who are driving around in like just a government van, like they could be working for the library or the parks department.
But people are being harassed, injured, assaulted just because people hate ICE that much. So let's not demonize them. If you have issues with them, let's actually, you know, say words and things that make sense instead of, I think, harping on people's emotions because I think it's going to lead to more immigration enforcement officers and other people who are being confused for them, you know, get hurt and even killed. So I'm kind of worried about that rhetoric. And that's... That's coming from the Democrats as a whole. I'm not surprised that Abigail Spanberger said that. But, you know, she ran as a moderate. And then as soon as she got sworn in as governor, she's spewing all this far left stuff. And it was just, besides that, it was just a downer. I mean, she had no personality, nothing whatsoever. And it's not a surprise that the ratings dropped off for the Democrat response. Before we let you go, Olivia, anything else that maybe nobody's talking about, stick out to you, that maybe you could point out to us. Like, I mean, a common, like, I love it that Trump takes these common sense issues, these 80-20 issues. I don't even call them 80-20 issues. I call them 90-10 issues. And he turns it around on the Democrats and makes them look like fools. And I just, I mean, that's like my takeaway for that whole thing. Was there anything that's not necessarily people are talking about, but that kind of stuck out to you? Well, here's a 90-10 issue, and people are talking about it a little bit, but not enough, in my opinion. One of the acts that Trump told Congress to pass during the State of Union was the Save America Act. And people, of course, just hear voter ID, and of course it's going to pass Congress. Who doesn't want voter ID? Well, like you said, it's one of those 80-20 or 90-10 issues, but the Democrats are totally against voter ID. You know, Chuck Schumer said it's Jim Crow 2.0 and Jamie Raskin said it's like repealing the 19th Amendment and it's not letting women vote. And so during the State of the Union. Trump directly looks at Senate Majority Leader John Thune and says, John, we got to do it, John. Because, you know, John Thune is dragging his feet on the filibuster thing, and we could talk about that for ages. But I think that was one of the keys in the Senate Union that people should not forget, is that he directly pointed at, you know, his Republican Senate leader and said, John, we've got to do it. We've got to force this Save Act through because without it, you know, we're faced with an unknown amount of illegal voting in our elections. Find her work, brightbart.com. She's one of the best. Brightbart Politics Reporter. Olivia Rondo, have a great weekend, and we'll talk to you soon. Thanks, Hammer and Nigel. I appreciate it. What is Toyota affordability? It's buying smart. Right now, your local Toyota dealer has great deals available on some of the most reliable trucks on the market, like the off-road ready Tacoma, rugged, full-sized tundra, and legendary forerunner, each with the space, tech, and features to handle it all.

Toyota, let's go places. I've got a lot more on the state of the unit address coming up, but Hammer, I'm looking at this new poll finding 90, I'm sorry, 39% of us have cried at work before. Another 21% have come close, managed to hold it in, but 39% have cried at work. I wonder what the percentage breakdown is male to female on that. Well, depends. Was Chuck Schumer in the poll? Was old crying Chuck part of the survey? When your nickname actually is crying, the word crying is in your nickname, you're part of the 39% for sure. Proud part of the 39%. Nope, never cried at work. No, we have too much fun here at work. Now, there are days like... When an officer dies or there's a school shooting or a terrorist attack, we don't have as much fun, obviously. But our job here in the afternoon is to bring you guys to news of the day in a fun way. Yeah. So you're informed and entertained. It's a good chance you're probably coming from work or maybe listening at work. And the last thing you want is somebody else yelling at you. Or crying. Or crying. Or crying over the radio. All right. So in our best fake cry, I want you to give the call letters, 93 WIBC. Okay, Allison, you're going to be part of this too, okay? In our best fake cry, Nige, go ahead. 93.
That was uncomfortably good. Wow. That was so good. Like there's nothing we can do. Like you've done this before. Right. Holy crap. I can't follow that. Anybody else want to try or no? That was like Jack Nicholson, you know, it doesn't get any better than that. Perfect. I'll try, but anything else. You're going to try it. Anything else is going to come up short. 93 WIBC. Yeah. And seen. Bravo. Thank you. Not bad. I love the way you brought it WIBC. It's really the crack of the voice, inflection. Thank you. All right, Allison. Okay. Don't look at me. Okay, no, I can't look. I'm not going to look. W. IBC. Oh, come on. It was a soft-spoken voice. Am I more girly than you when it comes to this? Well, I can explain that to you, but we don't have enough time. But definitely Nige wins the crying contest. Thank you. Yeah. You're the winner of the crying game. Proud moment in my career. Congratulations. The rock and roll Hall of Fame has announced the nominees for the class of 2026, Nige. Solid. It's a long list. Yeah, it's like the largest ever. So I'm going to go through the list. You tell me, yay or nay, you're the rock and roll guy. You're the music guy here. Tell me if the name I'm about to mention deserves to be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2026. Are you ready? Hit me. The Black Crows. Oh, definitely, yeah. Yeah, this is not their first nomination, but yeah. Jeff Buckley. Huge challenge. Sure. That's a sure. Okay. That's two then. Because keep in mind, you can't put everybody in. I might put everybody in. They only put about five in. That's the average. Well. So you've got two and it's been the first two. I hate you. Here we go. Mariah Carey. That's a no. It's a yes or no answer. Phil Susan Collins. Yes. So there's three. Melissa Etheridge. Yes. Four. Lauren Hill.
Yes or no? No, but I'm not a fan. Okay, that's fine. That's fine. Billy Idol. Yes. That's five. So you're at your max. I'm at my max. I can't go over. In excess. That's a no. Iron Maiden. Oh, man. So you got to cut somebody now. I got to cut somebody for Iron Maiden. This is their third go round. This has like been a controversial thing with the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with Iron Maiden, the English. And I'm not even that huge of fan, but man. So who do I have to cut? Maybe I could cut Jeff Buckley and put in Iron Maiden. Okay, Buckley is cut. Joy Division slash New Order. I don't even know who they are. Ne. New edition. Oh, you would say yes. I'd be a no, but I would enjoy the concert. Oasis. Uh, I'd say yes, except that they, the Gallagher brothers would never accept the invitation. They would never accept the nomination. So that's a no. No. Pink. Pink, no, this is her first time being nominated. Shaw Day, R&B star, Shaw Day, smooth operator. Smooth operator. Nah. Shakira. Neuther Vandros. R&B legend here and now. soulful voice. I don't know that I could take anybody else off the list. I'm not taking Iron Maiden off the list for Luther Vandross. Wu-Tang Clan. A case could be made for sure. Huge, huge. They're nothing to mess with, I've been told. In the widest way possible. Again, I say this every year. We get this announcement. Where's Weird Al? There he is. Weird Al Yankovic checks every box. Where is it? He has sold tickets to concerts. He's sold CDs and albums. He's done movies. He's done television. He's a pop culture phenomenon. Where is Weird Al? If you're going to tell me that new edition and Mariah Carey and Pink can be nominees, where's Weird Al Yankovic? That's all I'm asking. According to a new study, doctors say you should be replacing your underwear every six months, Nige.
Every six months. Uh-huh. I'm willing to bet. Dollars to donuts, you got a pair of britches on right now that are well past the expiration date. Fruit of the Loom, Menards, circa 2019, baby. Doctors generally. Meyer, sorry, the Myers. I was going to say you into the hardware store, not yourself a pair of wighty-tides. I'm not above that if they have boxers at Menards. Good deal is a good deal. 2019 and Meyer. I just can't imagine Nigel at a hardware store. Not with the way he just cried. It says here, doctors recommend replacing your underpants every six to nine months because washing doesn't remove everything. Washing your underpants does not get rid of all the bacteria you've left behind, the viruses, the fungi. And yes, there is science to back up that claim. Whatever. I don't buy it. What if after six months, you just start wearing them inside out? Like for six months, you've been washing them, wearing them the right side, but then it's a switch. Like in the movie Over the Top, where Stallone turns his hat around backwards, it's like a switch goes off. What if you just switch them and wear them inside out? That's what I do when I am out of laundry, you know? I could be doing it right now for all you know. How many times will you wear a pair of underpants before you wash them? No, I usually, I try to do. I caught a usually in there. That usually gives us some gray wiggle room. It depends on if I decide to shower that day or not. Okay. If I shower, new boxers. No shower, no new boxers. How often do you shower? Five out of the seven. Good God. It's the Hammer and Nigel show. What is Toyota affordability? It's buying smart.
