Democratic Senators are Holding Americans Hostage — with US Sen. Katie Britt - 10-9-25

Dale Jackson, back here with you, thrilled to be here. Thank you very much for sticking with us. We've got a lot to get into today. We've already talked with the DA of Madison County, Rob Broussard, about the August Borden case out of Deschler. She represents the great state of Alabama in the United States Senate. And everyone's just wondering, why don't you guys get back to work, Senator? What are you doing? What's happening there? We are working, Dale. It is the Democrats that have decided to shut the government down. We have passed a number of things this week, even with the government shutdown, because we're continuing to do the work of the American people. We actually got 107 of President Trump's nominees through. And if you remember, over the August state work period, I was the one that worked to get the research together to show. our conference and the world, that this was unprecedented obstruction by the Democrats so that we could move in a different direction, which is exactly what you saw us do again this week. We've also gotten a number of CRAs through, which is big, and we'll do some more of that today. There's talk we may move to the NDAA. So we're going to continue working for the American people because we know that's exactly what they deserve. And Democrats continue to play politics, Dale. And it is really getting old. I am sick of Chuck Schumer holding the American people hostage because he is afraid of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. And at the end of the day, that's exactly what this is about. But we're going to keep putting, opening the government front and center and hopefully eventually they'll come to their senses. Well, I hope that's true. I do hope that is true. I'm hoping we're seeing this. The Senate is sort of the hang-up here, and the Democrats know you need to get a couple on board. I think it's eight on board in order to get this done, and there are some that are there that are helping. Rand Paul is obviously not for opening the government back up. Donald Trump the other day, Senator Britt said that there are some. furloughed government employees that are not going to get paid. I can tell you this, as someone who is married to one of those furloughed government employees, you know, I was suspended for two weeks, and unfortunately, my wife got furloughed right in the middle, so she was there as well. She could very much have been at work instead. But here's my question to you. The law says that they're going to get paid. I think they all know they're going to get paid. Is Donald Trump just trying to ramp up some pressure here, or what's his reasoning for saying some are not going to get paid? Look, I know what the law says, obviously, I believe in making sure that we pay these federal workers. It is not people like your wife. It is not her fault that the Democrats are playing politics. It's not her fault that they have put out a whistlish of $1.5 trillion to fund the government for seven weeks. And Dale, put this in perspective, we spend $1.8 trillion a year, and they want $1.5 trillion for seven weeks.

So people like your wife, people like our men and women in uniform, people that want to come to work and do good for the American people absolutely need to get their back pay. And I'll certainly be of elevating my voice to say that. Good. I like to hear that. And yes, that's right. That's kind of what the law says. And I just wonder why we're hearing him say this. And I think it's a pressure campaign, obviously, to ramp that up a little bit. I would like to see. I'm going to throw this out here. Dale, one thing, wait, one thing on that, Dale, I think it's also like it's crystallizing their hypocrisy, the hypocrisy of the Democrats. All we have heard from them with Doge and whatnot over the last, you know, nine months has been all we care about is federal workers. And they've had federal workers marching through the halls of Congress. All of these things saying this is what we care about. But yet they are literally choosing not to work, not to keep the government open and work on conversations at the same time. And they're penalizing the federal workers. So it just shows. It was never about federal workers. It was always about Donald Trump having the upper hand and them just wanting to block him at every turn because if they cared about it, they can absolutely walk and chew gum at the same time or maybe they're just showing us that they don't know how. Yeah, I agree with that. I think that's exactly what's happening here. I would suggest, and maybe this is something we can look at down the line, you know, they passed a law that said the federal government employees are going to get paid. Like you said, it's not their fault. I think they should just continue making them work. Well, they're not getting paid. There's no reason. I tried to upload some files yesterday to the FCC. I mean, you had to go to the website and actually take down the file upload before you go on your furlough. I get it. I understand what's happening. It's like when they put the barriers in front of the monuments in Washington, D.C. during the last shutdown. I think we just need to say, look, you're going to get paid eventually. Get back to work. I think that's probably where we need to take all this. And that way there's not all this consternation. about it. It sucks that there's a concern about when their next paycheck is going to hit, but that may be something we need to look at. Before I let you go here, Senator Britt, looks like we have peace in the Middle East. I know that sounds crazy. Your good friend, John Fetterman, and there's been multiple stories written about how you guys get along very well. I don't know of having a stroke makes you more reasonable than the average Democrat, but this guy came out. And it was one of the few Democrats saying, look, this is a great deal. This is a great decision. This is a great move by the president of the United States. Is there any talk on Capitol Hill about or amongst senators about this not being a real deal that maybe it won't hold? Do you know anything that we need to know?

No, look, and as to John, look, John is a voice of reason. John continues to speak truth and is attacked by his party for doing so. He is not thinking, he's not trying to play politics. He is thinking about the American people. And that's actually what every Democrat should be doing in this moment. And if you look at the CRs, they voted for the CRs. The Democrats said for the last 13 times under Joe Biden. And yet only thing is different now is that President Trump is in office. and they're just trying to kind of sort of gum all of this up. So I'm grateful to John and I'm grateful for John's John's voice. And when it comes to Israel, I'm so grateful that these hostages are coming home. I was with the hostage families, many of them, those who had lost loved ones, those who hoped to hold loved ones yet again, those who had been hostages and been released on October 7th. I was at an event with them, a breakfast with them, got to hear their stories and talk with them. And they said, well, you know, while we can breathe, we cannot live until this is resolved. I know that this is just incredible news. And so I stand shoulder to shoulder with Senator John Fetterman on this and thanking President Trump for his tremendous leadership. I think this is just the beginning. And I think everybody should be celebrating this moment. Everyone and people who are not probably have Trump derangement syndrome and, you know, can't get out of their own way at this point. But we should all be celebrating these hostages coming home. I think you're right about that. I mean, everybody. The ceasefire now people are awfully quiet. I'll just, I'll put it. I just say that. They are awfully quiet in this situation. They don't seem to want to be out there talking too much right now. And I really don't understand that. They quote have their ceasefire, but they're not saying thank you. And that just shows you it's never, it's never about the issue. It is always about him. And that's what the American people are over, Dale. They're over it. And so there's another, there's another angle to that, too. The other angle is the Jews. The Jews are the other angle that these people are very upset about. They just don't like Jews. I mean, I'm sorry. I know that sounds very simplistic. But the level of, who would have thought? Two days after the two-year anniversary of October 7th that we'd be looking at a world that is growing more anti-Semitic every single day. The Jews were attacked on October 7th. Yeah, I do too. I do too. You've got an underlying issue that you're exactly, you're nailing, and we've seen this over history over time. But now you add social media and you add the infiltration and driving these algorithms and driving false narratives. into even our young people's feed. I mean, I've had some conversations with teenagers about this and some of my children's friends and whatnot. And the things that they have been fed are absolutely ridiculous. And so I think for every parent out there, for every person out there, we are obligated to speak truth and to certainly figure out where these things are coming from and set the record straight.

I agree. I know we're a little long here, but I do have one more question for you. Montgomery, look, the National Guard is good enough for Chicago, Washington, D.C., L.A., Portland, Memphis, and New Orleans. Does Montgomery need the National Guard? What I want to see is I want to continue interagency partnerships. I ask Attorney General Pam Bondi about this. I actually spoke, talked with Kash Patel and with acting ATF director, Dan Driscoll, Secretary Driscoll, Secretary Driscoll, Secretary of the Army, who's the acting director of ATF about what's going on in Montgomery. I want us to get to the bottom of it. And I want us to explore every avenue possible. You look at what's happening in Memphis. I talked to Marsha Blackburn about this yesterday. asking her kind of sort of how they got that off the ground. No matter where it is in the state from the top to the bottom, if we have people dying, these senseless, senseless deaths, we have an obligation to try to do something. And so I'm actively involved in those conversations. Good, good. I think we should probably look towards that, and I wish the governor would do it. I think we're going to get there eventually.
