It's live, it's local. It's the Dale Jackson Show. And it's only on News Talk 770 a.m. 925 FM, WVNN. Depend on it. 770 a.m. 92.5 FM WVN. Dale Jackson here with you. Thank you very much for joining us. Appreciate you being here. Appreciate you every single day. And I got to tell you. I'm not geeked up about this. I'll be honest with you. But there's a real possibility that my wife will go back to work soon. Which really, when we're dealing with any issue on this program, you have to ask yourself. How does it impact Dale? Like that's like the whole thing. I don't care about your snap benefits. I don't care about any of that stuff. I'm hungry. My kids can't eat. Whatever. I'm not interested in that. I'm interested in like why my house isn't clean if my wife is home. Like that's what I'm interested in. What is she doing? How many times can she watch the office? Like those are the questions that I have. There's a new version of the office out. She hasn't even watched that. She's just watching the office again. Complete waste of her time. Complete waste of her time. All of that said, let me throw this out here for you. There is talk about a potential deal coming. I don't, I'm not sure I buy it. I'm not sure I buy this, okay? My guess would be that Democrats are going to ride this a little bit longer because they should. They picked up that W. Well, why in the world would they go elsewhere? Why would they change their position except too hard in their position? That's where I'm at in this. Emily, am I crazy here? Why would Democrats be like, oh, well, you know, we've got momentum. We've got all this positive media coverage. It looks like we're doing stuff. Yes, Democrats winning Democrat districts. All that stuff. I get it. But at the same time, they seem to have the momentum. Why would they say, okay, we've had the government shut down for about 40 days? I guess we'll just do what the Republicans wanted all along. What's their motivation to do that? Any? I don't know. I don't know what their motivation has been to drag it out as long as they have. If they truly care about the people they say they care about. Okay. Okay. All right. So do you think, the argument is there could potentially be either a test vote today that will tell us if there are enough votes to get the government open and then a vote this weekend to get it done. Do you buy it? Do they have enough votes?

3:14

I think there'll be a holdout. I think a couple holdout. I don't think they'll have. I don't think they will because if they're, like you said, getting the positive press right now, they've won some of their elections or whatever. Anything they can do to drag stuff out to hurt Trump, I think they will. I think their mindset is so focused on how do we hurt him versus how do we help Americans. Yeah. That is a potential issue there. That is a potential issue. And that brings us to the vote today, which of course brings us to fraud! From sunny North Alabama, it's $50 free for all Friday. Yes, $50 free for all Friday here on the Dale Jackson Show, and that means I ask you a very simple question. You give me a very simple answer, and then I pick one of you. to give a $50 gift card to Twin Peaks. I give and I give and I give, you know, so much I can do. Here is today's question. I think it's pretty simple. I think it's pretty simple. Here it is. Donald Trump accidentally calls or texts your phone. Maybe he got hacked. I don't know. This has nothing to do with me, by the way, and nothing to do with any issues I've been dealing with this week at all. But Donald Trump calls or hacks your phone. I'm just kidding. Donald Trump calls you up. By accident. Okay. What do you tell him after a rough week? What do you say to him? What is your advice for Donald Trump after this week? I'll give you some of my evergreen Donald Trump advice. Why don't you not do that? Just like don't do that. Don't do that. And you can just insert whatever is going on at this particular moment into that conversation. Whatever's happening at this particular moment into that conversation, like whatever he's doing personally, you just say, why don't you not do that? Okay? How about that? So that's my advice. But I'll give you more detailed here in just a bit. You can offer up your advice if you. are so inclined. There's the free-speed phone lines there at 866-494-WVN. 866-494-9-866. There's the ScoutPass Control.com WVNN-H hot-take text line. That's right there as well. You can jump in there at 866. Is that right? 494 WVNN. I started doubting myself as I'm saying it here. And you can also email me. You've got mail. Dale at WVN.n.com. That's the downtown rescue mission.org email inbox. So there's a lot of different ways for you to jump in here and be involved and get involved and do all these things. And tell me, what would you tell Donald Trump? I mean, I would suggest he's having a bit of a rough week. That would be, that's what I would suggest. And I would say that, um,

6:24

He's probably not too happy right now. Did you see him yesterday in the Oval Office? How he stepped out of the way of medical professionals? No, not only that, but then he just stood there staring. He wasn't even looking at the guy laying on the ground. He's just looking straight ahead. It's a still photo. There could have been a lot of things going on. I saw it. You know, he was, but it looks like he's standing there and he's just like. This guy's stealing all my attention. The still photo does look like he's like a kid and someone just took his candy away and he's questioning life. But if you watch the video, Dr. Oz gets over there pretty quickly and Trump's leaned over to see what's going on. And then I would think that his thought process was, well, there are medical professionals here. I'm just going to take a step back. Because that's what I would do. I would get out of the way. Did you see? Robert F. Kennedy Jr.., his response. It's like... To GTFO? Yeah, he's like, get me out of here. He's like, I don't even want to be in the room. He just like, he runs away. I was like, holy cow, this is an amazing series of reactions to everyone. But the doctor that took the oath to, you know, what is there? The Hippocratic oath or whatever. I mean, Dr. Oz was there and was on it. So I thought it was... I'm not serious I want Donald Trump over there giving mouth to mouth or something. But what I do... What I do... It was the best CPR that's ever been CPRed. The guy stands up and he's got like orange stuff all over his mouth. But the thing is, and what I think is what he shouldn't have done... is look aloof to the whole situation, which he didn't, but you have like a still photo. And he's standing there. It's hard to explain, but if you've ever been a part of like a group of people doing something and you're embarrassed by one of the members of the group and you're just standing there looking off the other way going.

8:35

My wife makes that face a lot. I've seen it before. And it is, that's what it's like. He's like, oh my God, this guy. I just, all I wanted to do is ride go carts. Why, why is this happening? And that, that's sort of the look he has on his face. Like, it's like, why am I having to deal with all this chaos? Can't I just ride go carts? That, like, when I saw that picture, that's what I look. That's the, that's what I took from it is he's just standing there. He's just, he's afraid. He wanted to be doing something else. And this guy was like stealing his attention. He was, he was, he was distracting him for what he wanted to do. And all Donald Trump wanted to do was just ride go cards. I don't know why I chose that, but that's just it. All right, here we go. Some of your takeaways so far, let's get some of them in. You can never watch the office too many times. Okay, my wife has been out of work for 40 days. I think she would tell you, well, probably the same thing. Because that's, every time, every time, every time, every time. I'm like, okay. Have you thought about going downstairs and cleaning up the deck? Anyway. The paper is pretty darn funny, and if she loves the office, it's a great chance she'll enjoy the paper. When I was otherwise employed for a little bit, we'll call it when I was yaffied. Let's put it that way. Suspended, if you will. I watched the entire paper. It was only like 10 episodes. I thought it was pretty good. They tried to put a bow on it at the end just in case they didn't get a second season. So they kind of, I think, rushed it. But anyway. It was all right. Let's see. Democrats could decide to end the shutdown. Democrats could decide to end the shutdown to continue that positive momentum. That's true. That's absolutely true. They could do all of that. Those are just some random takes. You want some answers to the questions? Here we go. Let's go. Stay the course. That's what Paul says. He says, just stay the course. You just made the list. If Donald Trump accidentally texted him or called him or maybe got hacked and send him a crypto. invite or something uh let's see uh don't let a few election losses slow your victory record that's that again i want to point something out here everyone needs to understand that all these losses yesterday were blue states blue districts even the ones in mississippi which are important but they were redrawn voting rights act blah blah blah blah we went all over this yesterday These are all seats Democrats should have won. You'll notice there's no like Republicans should have won this seat, but XYZ. The only one that is close to that is the Public Service Commission stuff in Georgia. That's the only one. That's the only one. Nathaniel says, come over for barbecue. And hang out. You just made the list. You could ask the president if he wants to Netflix and chill. Is that what going on here? All right. There we go. There we go. That's definitely something that you could do. Let's see. Let's see. Jeff says, Donald, tell them what you're doing. And let other people pat you on the back. Patting yourself on the back is what gives the Democrats a Trump derangement syndrome shut up and lead. You just made the list.

11:40

Can't really argue with that. I mean, those are some pretty good answers there. So you can answer us on Facebook. You can answer us on the text line. You can answer those questions. We got a lot to get into here today. Did you see Sidney yesterday? Which is a question every man should ask themselves at some point in time of the day. But did you see her yesterday tell a reporter? To GFY. Did you even see this? It was a thing of beauty. We'll talk about that a little later. We've got Jamel Brown joining us a little bit. What is it? Jamel Jameen Brown? Anyway, he'll be joining us a little bit later on today. He's bringing twerk Tuesdays back to the governor's mansion. Much like Lerlene Wallace used to do, twerk Tuesdays. George Wallace wasn't so much into twerking at that point for various reasons. But it. I'm sorry, was he into twerking at that point? They just jerked the wheelchair back and forth. What do we tell? What do you want to be? Do we not know history? Do we not? Okay. I guess we don't know history. I guess we don't know history. Let's take a quick timeout. I'll inform Emily on some history. Stay tuned. You're listening to the Dale Jackson Show.

13:07

I gave Emily a hard time about history, but allow me to educate myself about history. Yep. Okay? When Lerlene Wallace was in the governor's mansion, excuse me, George Wallace was still ambulatory. So he was not twerking in his wheelchair. He was dropping it low down on Perry Street during wasted Wednesday and twerk Tuesday. Anyway, Pastor Jamel Jermaine Brown, the hood pastor running for governor. This guy has more branding than I do now that I think about it, but this guy will be with us here just a little bit. It should be a good conversation. I've sent him the number there on the text line with that. So, okay, all right. Somebody said Lerlene Wallace would be twerking from the grave. Okay, thank you very much. Thank you so much. Dale, we have Greg Abbott today, but George Wallace was the OG Governor Hot Wheels. Okay, let's be real here. Governor Hot Wheels. That's what Jasmine Crockett referred to Greg Abbott as. But again, I'd like to remind you. that George Wallace was not, is this correct? I'm wrong. George Wallace was never in the governor's mansion after he was shot. Okay, so that was after the fact. I don't think so. So he was not Governor Hotwheel. He was presidential candidate Hot Wheels. Let's make sure we offer up the appropriate respect on this. Remember, George Wallace said he'd never be out and worded again. Okay, just remember that. I just want to. As everyone tries to rebuild the legacy of George Wallace, the Democrats in Alabama have tried their best to do so. And I always laughed. No, no. You're wrong again. Sorry to interrupt you to tell you you you're wrong again. So he was Governor Hot Wheels. Second term, 1971 to 1979. And in 72, he was shot. Third term, 83 to 87. I got it. I guess he's Governor Hot Wheels for a while. All right. Again, you shouldn't refer to him as Governor Hot Wheels. That's very disrespectful. Do not do not do that. Oh, good. Good. So here's another good question. Does that make FDR President Hot Wheels? Okay. All right. All right. Guys, Jasmine Crockett sucks. And we should not be trafficking in her terrible nonsense. Okay. Just stop. Okay. None of them are president or governor Hot Wheels. Okay. That is not it. Okay. Stop. Stop. Back to our question of the day. What would you tell Donald Trump if he accidentally called or text you? And keep mind, in this scenario, Donald Trump has misdialed, okay? He's misdialed. And you pick up the phone and he's like, this is the best phone call. Nobody's ever texted as good as I have. Yes, some people would say it's a mistake, but it's not. How are you doing today? And you would say what? Well, here's the answers. I would tell Donald Trump to broaden the definition within the Communist Control Act of 1954. If you think I'm bad with history, I'm telling you right now, Donald Trump be like, absolutely. Actually, Donald Trump would pretend he knew what it was. That's what he would do. Anyway, I would tell Donald Trump to broaden the definition within the Communist Control Act of 1954 and then begin prosecuting all communists and communist adjacents.

16:29

also make Cindy Sweeney's press secretary. You just made the list. He already has what he wants in the press secretary. He continuously is talking about her lips. So I don't think that's a, that's a, I don't think he needs that. I don't think he needs Cindy Sweeney as press secretary, okay? I don't think that's the case. But yeah. So the advice so far to President Donald Trump is as follows, chill. Like, that's basically the gist of it. Hey, could you guys, could you chill out a little bit? That, that's basically it. Which is, as I mentioned before, sort of like an evergreen, evergreen advice. I mean, that's the invite. If I'd asked this question five years ago, it would have been the exact same advice. If I'd asked this question a year ago, it would have been the exact same advice. Okay. So. I don't disagree with any of this so far, except for everyone saying Governor Hot Wheels and the like. I do disagree with that part. Here's a real answer to the question. I would ask for a job in his administration. You just made the list. I often think to myself, usually when I'm sitting on the couch for about two weeks without pay, I think to myself, should I have taken that job when I was talked about? Right? I think I encourage you to take it. That's just because you want to be gone. No, no, I wanted to ride your coat tails. But it's like, should I have taken it? Okay, so maybe if he accidentally texts me today, maybe I'll have that conversation with him. Should it take it the job in the first place, stupid? It would have been a great job. But it turns out I'm very dumb. Anyway, there's your question. Coming up next. It's the Dale Jackson show.

Jim Rome takes on sports. I will always have a complicated relationship with this game. But people evolve. So do sports. Do not make me regret this. Do not make me devolve. Back to that guy that so many clones wish that I still was. And do not embarrass the entire country. Now, I can go back. I can get there fast. Lose tonight. And you got a real problem. Do not blow it. The Jim Rome Show podcast. You've been warned. Follow and listen on your favorite platform. by the current turn of events would be underplaying it just a bit. I'll just be honest. I was really looking forward to this interview with Pastor Jamel Jamain Brown. I was really looking for... What happened? He is not answering and it is going directly to voicemail. It's kind of early in the morning if you've been twerking all night. The hood pastoral services are a very labor-intensive profession. Now, in all honesty, this is a gentleman who is running for office. Yesterday, he posted this on social media, and just to share this. I just received warning from the doctor this evening related to my kidneys. My eyes filled with tears and she told me the test results. Today, it's a must that I give up the bad health habits and learn moderation to stop this situation from get any worse. The warning signs were present for a whole week. I'm so happy I went to get checked out. God, it is in your hands, but I will do my part two. Drink more water, no more alcohol, a better lifestyle for my body. Yes, I'm crying while typing this, but God will heal my body. Prayer emoji. Prayer emoji, prayer emoji. So that's where we're at in this. So we are working on getting him on the program. And we hope to get him on the air at some point in time today. But we have lost him at some point in time. So that's where we stand as of right now. But he is running for governor. We are reaching out to him. I want him to be the Democratic face. the face of the Democratic Party, and hopefully one day we will get him on the program and get to have that conversation. If you've missed my coverage of him, you can go to my Facebook page, facebook.com slash the Dale Jackson, and I created a video there where I go through some of the stuff that Pastor Brown had to say. I played some of it yesterday on the program. I'll give you some of it here right now since we don't have him, but we do have some of his previous clips. Here we go. Hello everybody. This is Pastor Jamel Jermaine Brown, Democratic candidate for governor of the great state of Alabama. I'm standing in front of my soon-to-be future home once elected as governor, this 17-bedroom mansion here on South Perry Street. Yes, this will I be living at upstairs. Okay. That's it. She's going to be living there in the governor's mansion. What's a game plan there? What's a game plan once we make this happen?

21:46

at the governor's mansion. We're going to bring fun, parties, R&B nights, twerk Tuesdays, wasted Wednesdays, all type of Thursdays, all type of good things. Back to the governor's mansion. Listen, I need your vote and I need your support. And to the haters out there, if you're mad, because I said we're going to turn up, have cookouts. and have big gathers here once up gubbler well whoop the do we're going to do it chamelle brown 2026 vote for me i'll be honest i don't think he really thought that out because the whoop-de-do is not really a very good response there but i just want to know am i invited to the cookout That's a thing that you wouldn't be invited to the cookout. That's the thing that is said amongst the children these days. I'm just wondering if I would be invited to the cookout. That's all masking. I've already swam in the governor's mansion pool. And Tommy Tuberville, just for those who don't know, has on this very radio show agreed to a talk radio pool party if he wins the governor's mansion. So I got to figure out what this guy is going to do for me. I mean. I just want to invite to twerk Tuesday. I mean, that's it. That's it. If I show up at twerk Tuesday, does the party die? Like I won't. Yes. Like the record scratch. Yeah. It's like, oh, okay. Who invited the cops? All right. Get them out of here. Get them out of here. Why is that guy here? Yeah. Okay. So Jamel, Jermaine Brown, we are awaiting him joining us, but Bugsie is working on that one. And as with most things, Bugsie works on, I assume she's going to fail. So we will probably not get him on the program here today. But if we do, we will join him and have a conversation. All right, let's move on past this. Are you flying anywhere anytime soon? Thanksgiving, maybe for the holidays after that, might have a bit of an issue. Right now we have a very bad situation. They are cutting air capacity by 10% due to the ongoing government shutdown. They are deciding that that is the solution and 40 major hubs are cutting their travel. Here's my question to you. And just answer this honestly. to me and i i mean this with all seriousness should they fire the air traffic controllers who have decided not to come back i mean i'm serious i mean i'm dead serious with this should they fire them i mean look they're all going to get paid they're all going to get paid Okay, every single one of them is going to get paid. They're occurring. Is how you say it? They're time off. They're all going to be a queuing. Accruing. Accruing. Accruing. Whatever.

24:56

It's twerk Tuesday. I'm not paying attention. Anyway, sorry, yesterday was twerk Thursday. I'm a little out of sorts. Excuse me. Get it together, man. They are still gathering their paid time off. Okay? They are getting their benefits. They are going to get their pay. It's all going to happen. But you say they're going to get their pay. So do the mortgage companies, do the landlords, do the power and water companies? Do they all understand that? How many times has Huntsville utilities put out the message and it has been repeated dutifully by our friends in the media that they are not going to be doing any shutoff notices or anything like that. That's one group and that's here. I know, but it's nonstop and it's almost every group is doing stuff like that. I just given the other side of the. I'm not in the pro pain for federal employees position, okay? I'm not. But what I am. in favor of is the call me crazy here emily we disagree on this i'm for safety in the airwaves or in the air on the airways and in the airways and in the airway's dale jackson yes i'm not for safety on the airways but i am for safety in the air unlike emily apparently and i want i want people to get this I don't think it's fair to say, unlike Emily, I just want people to get paid for the job that they're doing and the government shutdown is following me. I don't think it's fair. You say this. I just want people to get paid as if I don't want them to get paid. Let's just continuously pretend that the other person has the worst possible intentions all the way around. I agree with that. My point is this. If we're going to put into the law that they're going to get paid regardless, then put in the law that they need to take their ass to work. Okay, that's all I'm saying. And I say this knowing the following thing. I have a friend who has a stay-at-home wife, a young baby, one on the way, one older, and he told me the other day, that he'll be door-dashing this weekend in order to get, you know, just to make some money. And she'll be doing shipped in order to make some money. Making his pregnant wife do shift. What's wrong with this guy? But anyway, that's happening. Why are you throwing your hands away? I'm not giving away a secret or a name or anything. You even know who I thought you were for a minute there. No, I'm not going to say who they are. That'd be rude. But my point is, I know that. And their financial situation is what it is because you've got to stay at home mom, a young baby, one on the way, another young child. So that's three kids. You have one job and you have responsibilities. I mean, that's true. We're now a month in. And like Cindy's totally different. I said, what if you miss like two paychecks? And she's like, I don't know, like one. Cindy. I said, you are in a blessed position. I'll just put it that way. But not everyone is in that position. This is a real thing that people have to deal with. And I'm not sure his life has made better by me forcing him to go back to work. Do you understand what I mean? If I said to him, you have to go back to work. And I'm arguing against my own position, just I'm trying to see it from both sides here.

28:26

Unlike Emily. We're just assuming the worst. Let's just go with that. But the point is, there are apparently air traffic controllers calling out so they can do Uber Eats. So they can get paid for the work they do? Yes. Oh. I mean, that's not, I agree with you. The government should not be shut down. I mean, I agree with that. I think they should budget like, you know. Like everybody else in the country has to do and pay their bills like everybody and live within their means like everyone else in the country has to do or pay the penalty for it. Yes. That's a thought. You might be hearing this and listening to this outside of when it was live. And you might hear this and the government might be open at this point. Okay? You might. But here's the facts. There are people who are freaking out about this now. And every day there are more people. Now, yes, I'm sure some of them are enjoying sitting at home and doing nothing or doing stuff around the house. I have another friend who is like, I've done so much charity work and all this other stuff. And he's like, talk about all the stuff. He's done. I'm like, God, that is an accomplishing. He's like doing all sorts of this other stuff. And Cindy's watched 27 versions of the office. She's watching it in Spanish. I'm not kidding. I walked in and there was a Toyota ad in Spanish. I'm like, what is this? I don't know what happened. I don't know either, but the show itself was in English. But I just want, I want people to understand that we can be flippant about this for those of us who are not impacted by it. And I'm guilty of that. I am. Like, we can't. But we are getting to a crunch time in this where more people are going to be affected every single day. I started off this whole conversation weeks ago telling you about one of Cindy's friends who has like stay-at-home wife and like nine kids. I can't imagine how long that guy is going to be able to hold out without some serious problems. Well, now we're a month into this. We're at record lengths and all this other stuff. And a friend of mine. is having to say basically, okay, I'm going to start doing like Uber Eats and my wife's going to start doing ship. They're not destitute at all, but they want to continue having some form of income coming in in order to just deal with the incidentals of the day. Okay? Now, they could have just asked me for a loan. I would have been more than happy to help them out personally. But, you know, it is, why are you shaking your head at that? What? Why did you shake your head at that? What is the world what's wrong without save it? People asking you for a loan? Yeah. I mean, the terms aren't going to be good, but they can ask. Sit down. Tell me, what do you need? What do you? I would like to name your child after me, okay? That's all I'm asking. Yeah, that's all I'm asking for. That's all. You just tell them what you need, and I'll just take care of it. But like in five years, there's a bunch of little Dale Jackson's enrolling in kindergarten. Mm-hmm. I'll be like, this is the most normal named kindergarten that exists. Everyone's named Dale Jackson as opposed to Jemaraquai and Jafonzie. It's okay. Thanks a lot. Well, I don't, that's true. Every time I walk into my kids' classroom at the beginning of the year, I'm amazed at how many different ways there is to spell Ashley. Okay, that's what I'm amazed. Okay, so don't look at me like I'm crazy for saying these kids have crazy names.

31:56

There's no marks. I don't think there's a mark in Grant's entire school. I just don't think they exist. Marks don't exist. Peets don't exist. No more. No more. But there's like 27 Millers and there's, I'm sorry, their names are all weird. They are. That's why you gave your child an old lady's name. It's not an old lady's name. Well, one of her names is an old lady's name because it's after. Excuse me. Margot? That is an old lady name. The Margot is not, it's Margot. By the way, I love that you went along with it. I hate you so much. It's not Margot. It is Margot. That's not an old lady's name. It's very classic name. Okay. All right, sure. Luckily, you spelled it weird, so congratulations to you so that you'll fit in with, she'll fit in with all the other kids. It's how it's supposed to be spelled. Oh, sure. Okay. Has she been called Margot before besides me? Yes. Yeah, okay. There we go. Very awesome. She had a little dental thing done a couple of weeks ago. And when the doctor's office called to get everything squared away, they called and asked if I was the legal guardian or parent of Margaret. And I don't know how you get Margaret from Margot, but she's been called Margot. Um, yeah. Poor kid. Hey, you know what? Everyone else is wrong, right? That's right, Dale. That's right. Okay, fine. Listen, if you want to answer our question or weigh in on how bad of a name, Emily gave her child. 866-494-WVNN 866-4-9-866. Are you having to deal with this government shutdown? Is he getting close to... Danger, do not text me and ask me for a loan unless you got one in the oven. That's the only conversation we're going to be having. Get some. for joining us. Did Emily just tell people to pay your bills and live within your means? Who is she, Dave Ramsey? Oh, boy. Why is there so much hatred towards, I think it's my fault, actually, as I asked that question. But why is there so much hatred towards Dave Ramsey on this show? There is an inordinate amount of hatred towards, again. You're not always the biggest fan of Dave Ramsey. It's just the way he does stuff. You should eat a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and pay all your bills, not have any cable. Why do you have a car when you could have a bike and don't buy the bike, steal the bike? You shouldn't be spending in space. Shouldn't be spending any money. And then those people are like, I make $20,000 a year. I have a million dollars in debt. My wife is a stay-at-home wife with a stage four cancer. And we are working towards paying off our house. And I'm wondering, should we sell our lake house? Like those are the kind of questions like you get. And Dave is like, oh, well, first thing you need to do is make sure that you pack a lunch every single day. You should not get coffee anymore. You should not do any of these other things. You should eat ramen and sit in your living room and talking to each other, maybe reading the Bible that you borrowed. And you should figure out a way to make sure that you'd make sure you tithe your 10%. And... Then you get debt free. And then you get people calling in and they're like, oh, Dave, I just want to let you know I took your advice. And I paid off my million dollars of debt with my $20,000 a year job. And it took me six months to do so. And I'm debt free. That's how it goes. Am I wrong about that? Is that not it? Is that the entire bit? I mean, it's the appropriate generalization of it because it's the same thing with like those couples on HGTV. They're going to buy a house. And they're like, I'm a butterfly catcher. And I meltdown candles to make crayons. And we have a budget of $500,000. You're like, how does that even work? Yeah. By the way, you'd have to ask John Wall about what kind of money that butterfly farmers get because that's what he is. He is a butterfly farmer. So you could have asked him about that. So yeah. Okay. All right. Fair enough. Yeah, I'm with you. Let's see. Anyone who working an essential job who decides they aren't showing up needs to walk. You do the job when you were hired. Hold on here one second. Hold on. Hold on. Hold on. Let's back up for, I just want to back up here for a second. Yes, they're government employees. They know, they should know. about all the issues that go along with doing that and that the government can shut down at any time and all this other stuff yes okay but the longest shutdown ever is the one we're in right now okay so you're asking them to plan for something that is abnormal

37:58

Okay, and you're asking them to plan their career when they're 25 years old based on what's going to happen, three administrations down the line, and you want them to plan that. And stuff happens. I can be fired tomorrow. Hell, it's very likely that I will be fired tomorrow. And I will have to figure out exactly what to do in my life, just like anyone else. Okay, that's it. Okay, so I agree with that. I agree. But at the end of the day, this is not their fault. Okay, I just... I feel worse for government employees than I do for SNAP recipients, but most society flips that around, okay? They feel worse for the SNAP recipients than they do for government employees. Now, here's an idea if you're needing money because the government shut down, go to a loan agency, take out a loan, and then sue the federal government for interest since it's their fault. Anyway, I don't think it works that way. But you could, they've also got very low interest loans out there available for people as well during this. There are options if you are having issues, okay? Just to be clear here. It's still not great, and the griping is legitimate. I understand all of that. And you'll get your pay eventually. I still think they should have to go to work, though. We got a potential budget deal. Yep, yeah. What does it actually mean? I don't know. Bipartisan talks are underway. So there's that. The Affordable Care Act, Obamacare, subsidies, et cetera, remain a major sticking point in all of this. So keep that in mind. Airlines saying, hey. Yeah, we're done. You know, they were actually told by the FAA to cut back. And so you're going to see a cut back there because of funding and things of that nature when it comes to the FAA. So that's an issue and a whole bunch more, including you're ready for this? We got the first college football playoff rankings. There's a surprise team in the mix? I don't even know if it's a surprise. But anyway, we'll talk a little bit more about that and more. So let's go ahead and get right to it. It's brought to you by two men in a truck. You'll get two men in a truck, but you'll also get so much more. What more? That's a great question. Thank you very much for asking. Well, here's what you get. You get the grandma rule. The grandma rule says, treat everyone the way you'd like your grandma to be treated. And you want your grandma treat it very well. Of course you do. You're a normal person. You're a good person. And that's exactly what you should do. So let my friends at two-minute truck treat you the same way they treat their grandma. They'll come to your house. They'll pack it up. They'll move it. They'll do all these things. They'll stage it. You'll be happy with your move. But doing it yourself is hard. If you've ever moved, I've made a lot of moves in my life. Having to get pizza, beer, and soda for people, I get you to help, and I do all these things. It's just a big mess. And plus, your friends don't want to help you anyway. Let's be real about it. No one's ever been excited about helping somebody move. No one's ever been happy about that.

So, yeah, call 2 Minute Truck. They're going to be happy to help you move. That's how it works. Two Minute Truck Huntsville.com. Check them out today. Tell them Dale Jackson sent you and thank them for being proud sponsors of the often duplicated, never replicated. The most critically acclaimed segment here on the Dale Jackson Show, brought to you by Alabama's most trusted journalist. It's The Seven Things. you should be talking about today. Now time for the seven things you'll be talking about today. Number seven. All right. The first college football playoff rankings are out and Alabama is in the mix. Now, Ohio State received top billing. No question there. Followed by Indiana, a paper tiger. That's fine. Texas A&M and Alabama. So two big 10 teams, two SEC teams, including Alabama. And then the top six teams, well, they're rounded out by Georgia. Yep, and Ole Miss. He got all this going on here. And it's great. It's absolutely great. All these teams are SEC and big 10 teams. Every single one, all six of them. Okay, great. But look, Alabama went from maybe we should fire our coach to. Number four in the first rankings. So they control their own history or their own destiny, excuse me, and I think it's going to be pretty good for them. So congratulations to everyone. And I love it. I love everything that's happening here. Good for them. Good for them. Number six. All right, a German chancellor Friedrich Merz, Merck, whose name you do not know because it does not matter, is actually being very Trumpy right now and he's taking some heat for it. Yeah, he's taking some heat for it. Why? Because he has stated that Syrians no longer qualify for asylum. So they're going to stop taking Syrians. But wait, there's more. He's saying they got to go. Yeah, he said it is over for them. Civil War is over. Bashar al-Assad's gone. It is time for you to go back home. He is expecting voluntary returns from 1.3 million residents, but threaten possible deportations for those who refuse to leave. I cannot wait. I cannot wait until the media in Europe and the courts over there insist. No, you've got to take these people and you've got to take more people from Syria. Their families. Bring their families in, too. Number five. Governor-elect National Championship winning coach, United States Senator Tommy Tuberville, is introducing the Uber Act. What is the Uber Act? Well, it is a law that would suggest that, hey, you know those people with the rideshare business? They should probably be able to understand basic English. It would ban any non-compliant ride share company from receiving a federal contract for five years. If you do not require them to speak English, then you will not be able to get a government contract. I have absolutely no problem with this. Not only should they be able to read road signs and things like that, they should be able to have a conversation with you about what you need from them if you're getting into their vehicle.

46:55

So, yeah, I think this is an important thing. I think this needs to happen. I like this. This is an offshoot of the issues we've had in the trucking industry as well. And I think Tommy Tuberville is right here to suggest this. Number four. Auburn is responding to some of the issues that they've seen on their campus where individuals are maybe not following the rules. Those rules, of course, being. that you cannot be cramming these divisive concepts into the heads of these college students. You're not allowed to do all of this. But there have been a lot of questions and reports about whether or not Auburn is following the law. Well, now, according to a report in the Plainsman, they are having to say, yeah, I'm following the rules. Yeah, I'm doing this. And Auburn is asking their educators to say they're following the law. Not a crazy thing. I cannot wait until they're told, don't respond. Don't respond to this. Don't give them any of this. Don't listen to them. Don't do it. Don't do it, guys. Don't give them what they want. Okay, don't and see what happened. See what happens. Number three. A record long government shutdown is reducing the Redstone Arsenal's Fox Army Healthcare Center services. Primary care cuts and the pharmacy will be limited to three days a week starting November 13th. So that is going to happen and that is going to impact some retirees and the like. So that's an issue there. Okay. Okay. It's bad. It will lead to reduced. services there at Resident Arsenal's Fox Army Health Center. Also, Mazda Toyota, congratulations. So, well, thank you to them. I think it's Robert. I would say this. We'll donate $50,000 to the North Alabama Food Bank to help furloughed workers and snap recipients. It's nice to see corporate partners wade in here. I think that's good. I think it's good all the way around. Thank you for that. Number two. The Federal Aviation Administration is mandating a 10% flight cut at 40 major airports, including Atlanta, Chicago O'Hare, and other major airports due to the shutdown-related. government shutdown related controller shortages so air traffic controllers are finding themselves in a in a less than good situation and some of them are calling off work which i i don't think should be allowed but it is what it is and even though alabama's airports are not directly impacted with the cut they are suggesting that travelers are urged to monitor

49:59

their flight status, which you should always do. And hilariously, one CEO even said, and I can't believe that he actually said this, you should probably buy an extra ticket to, you know, in case your flight gets canceled. Yeah, yeah, just buy an extra airplane ticket. What a great normal thing to say. Time for the number one thing you'll be talking about today. It will be the bipartisan government shutdown talks. Yeah. Lawmakers are starting to move a little bit. One of them is referring to it as the end of the beginning. What does that even mean? What does it even mean? It's the end of the beginning. But the political hard wills are being broken here. So Richard Blumenthal, a complete liar who lied about being in Vietnam, he has come out and decided what he would say is it is now time to make a deal. And he says, quote, there seems to be some indication of a thaw. Republicans and Democrats are still skinnish about the shutdown as it goes into its, what is it, 38th or something day. So we are going on a very long period here. There's a lot of worry about this. And what's the hang up? What's the hang up? Well, the hang up continues to be Obamacare subsidies. That is the hang up. And when we say it's all starting the thaw, that's true, 100% true. But we still have a lot of people that want to see this thing continue. But I am feeling better about the fact that people are being honest. And I love it. Here's a good example of that. This is Senator Peter Welch. He's making this argument about Obamacare, and I think this is an important concession from Democrats. I owe you an answer on why it is I'm standing here today asking to extend something that was temporary. And here's the reason. We did fail to bring down the cost of health care. I agree. You failed to bring down the cost of health care with Obamacare. It's an admission. The senator from Vermont. admitting that is a nice step. Congratulations. Okay, good job, good job. Will they get to where the government shutdown ends? Maybe today? It's possible. Do I think so? No, but we'll stay on top of it. There we go. Let's say a quick time out. We'll be right back. Stay tuned. It's WBN. WBNN's Dale Jackson seven things you should be talking about today. Right in your email box every morning. Go to yellowhammer news.com and sign up today.

53:07

you we are going through some of your answers to our question of the day the question is it always should be let's just be real about it the president why would it always why should it always should be what does that even mean i don't even know what that means i don't think that's true it shouldn't always be this question but anyway excuse my uh excuse my thought there uh but here's the question if the president accidentally dialed you Like, whoopsie, I didn't mean to do that. If he accidentally dialed you, what would you tell him about today? What would your response be about today? What would you say to him? What would you say, hey, Donald Trump, here's my advice to you on how you should be handling everything moving forward. What does that look like when you're having that conversation with him? And I think it's an interesting question. I've gotten some pretty interesting answers from you guys as well. And I appreciate you guys sharing those with us. Let's get to some. Steve says this, I would tell Trump to stay the course. and tell workers to show up or be fired just like Reagan did. I feel like I've kind of poisoned the well on this whole thing. I've got that on that front, honestly. I'm not saying this guy doesn't think that. I'm just saying I've been very adamant on my thought process that I don't think that it is good for us to be having all this talk about people not going to work. even though they're going to get paid. I think that's a bit of a problem. But I do get, honestly, where people come from on this because they don't want a situation where you're forcing people to go to work when they're not getting paid. And this is also worth noting here. There are a lot of people whose health care is being impacted by this too. And some of the air traffic controllers are saying just that. Like, hey, I don't have any health care here, so I can't come in to do this. So, okay, I can't. I'd be a little harder on these federal employees not going to work. That's just me. I'll just leave it with that. Most are making well over $150K and they are not in bad shape after one month. Did you hear the news of the break? Guys that one of his coworkers got evicted. I'd like to know where and how many payments he's missed in the 34 days. I'm calling BS. Yeah, I agree with that. I agree with that. Snap beneficiaries missed their first payment in Alabama on the fourth. Okay? And Donald Trump is in order to pay that, by the way. I didn't even put that in the seven things. I should have. But Donald Trump is in order to pay that. But anyway, they said, I'm calling BS on this. You can't evict anyone here in less than 45 days. Then they get another 30. Liberal cities are 90 days. It's far more than that, actually, in some places. Governors should pay interest in late fees for people who are working the whole time. I tend to agree on that, too. Personally,

56:10

I do not understand why would they wrote this bill and people may not, well, I think most people know at this point. There has been a change in the law, not that in practice it was any different. Everyone got paid in every government shutdown, but now it's a matter of law that you get paid in every government shutdown, right? So it's a matter of law. And I think that if that's going to be the matter of law, then... Part of that should be you go to work. I mean, I think that that seems pretty self-explanatory and it's not an outrageous thing to feel or say. But. For some reason, there is this idea that you should never, how dare you ever ask somebody to pay or someone, excuse me, to go to work when they're not getting their pay right away. I get the reasoning. I do. I understand it. That doesn't mean that I am a fan of this, and it surely does not mean that I think it's the right way for us to be handling this. I am not. cold-hearted. I am not a monster. At least I don't think that I am, although some people might disagree. But there comes a point where we have to say there is going to be some pain here. And all we're doing, and this is important too, all we're doing is constantly trying to figure out how do we mitigate pain. How do we stop as much pain as we possibly can? And I'm not saying we shouldn't do that. I'm not. But part of the reason why this is dragging on so long is because we've gone out of our way to make sure that people don't feel pain. Are you saying you want people to feel pain? I'm not saying I want them to feel pain. But what I'm suggesting is if you want this to end, they have to. They have to feel pain. You have to be in a situation where there are people who are in legitimate pain. You could say it shouldn't be that way. And I'm saying, okay, I'm fine. I agree with that. I don't want people to be in pain. I'm not some sort of masochist or something. I'm not, I guess I'd be pain for myself. But anyway, I'm not a psychopath. I don't want people to feel that pain. But if I want this over, don't I need them to feel that pain? I mean, and that's the truth. So either the politicians have to feel the pain that their political agenda is in peril based on their behavior, which I think there are some people who feel that way, or the average citizen has to feel some pain to the point where the government starts to feel bad for them. So there we go. I appreciate that feedback. Here's another one. Democrats won everything this week's elections in a shutdown. They should keep the government closed through the midterms. Okay. You just made the list. Thank you very much. Would Donald Trump? Hey, we're going to keep the government close to the shutdown for another year here. Yeah, let's see how that goes for him. Good God. Good.

59:14

God, please stop. Please, please, please just stop. When one branch of the government fails to do their job, why is it now that you're responsible to pay the bill? Keep up the good work. I don't think he's responsible to pay the bill. We'll get into that next. You just made the list. Deal, Jackson. Thank you very much for being here. Thank you so much for spending some time with us today. We are very thankful for our next guest, State Senator Arthur Orr, who is with us. He joins us. Decatur, Morgan County, parts of Livestone County, parts of Madison County, as well, the State Senate. And he joins us on the Alabama A&M $350 million Bulldog Hotline. We appreciate him being here. $350 million. That's economic impact on Alabama. that are good friends in Alabama, A&M, have 238 million in North Alabama alone. Senator Orr, since you represent parts of Huntsville, Madison County, Limestone County, and Morgan County, just a quick question here before we get into all of this. What do you make of Huntsville's... lust for expansion and their manifest destiny that they continue suggesting that they are supposed to conquer land all the way to Texas? What do you make? What do you make of their furthest? They have 50-year expansionary goals. What do you make of the latest lust for land from the city of Huntsville? You know, time will tell. If the growth is slow and planned, and I think that's what the city's trying to do. Rather than reactionary, they're trying to control it and plan it and then certainly foster it. That's a good thing. But as they move forward, you know, the costs go up, the expenses. You've got to... provide services, fire protection, police protection, education, etc. So they've got to keep the retail dollars coming in. And I think getting to the interstate, and I mean 65 by that, has always been the goal, and now they've arrived. And so now it's time to start trying to increase the retail sales and get another pocket of revenue coming in to support all the infrastructure costs that you're going to have as you get more people and more rooftops. Yeah, and there's a lot of push here for growth. And there are people want it. And I listen to this. And I, you know, I know there are some againets out there. They're against anything, honestly. That is growth. And I get that. I want things the way they were 40 years ago. It's like, well, too bad. Okay. That's my response. That era is over. But the growth is there. And the growth is fast at this point. But they say 50 years. So I'll give you the last word. Then we'll move on.

1:02:50

Yeah, well, compare to the lack of planning and lack of coordination in Jefferson County with City of Birmingham. Well, you've got 30, I think it's 30 plus little municipalities, you know, all surrounding Birmingham and... It's really retarded the growth of that city because of all the little towns and everything that are surrounding it and the coordination that it's almost impossible to pull off for a coordinated growth effort across Jefferson County, which is still our largest county. But anyway, Huntsville's not going to have that. They're not going to have little towns and others. popping up on the perimeter that would cause it problems in the future. I agree with that. I agree with that. All right. Let's move past that. Our question today is what about Donald Trump? He accidentally calls Arthur Orr's phone. Arthur Orr picks up the phone. Hello. And then Donald Trump says, oh, sorry. And you say, is this Donald Trump? And he says, yeah, of course. And you say, oh, I'm glad I got you on the phone. I have some advice for you. I'd like to talk to you. What does Senator Orr say to Donald Trump in that situation now that he's a butt dialed you? I would probably say a couple things. I'd start off, if we're getting straight to policy after the pleasant trees, et cetera. I would really fuss at his communications team or group. And by that, I mean, for example, take the tariffs. You know, I don't know how they'll wind up in the Supreme Court, but, you know, he, he did, the communications team did not make the point that our goods going overseas are getting taxed and tariff to the end of, you know, at high levels all across the world. And when they send their goods here, there were no tariffs to speak of. It was just come on and, you know, just come right on in and sell your stuff with no taxes, you know, other than sales taxes or whatever, but not to come into our country. So my point was it was very unfair playing field. But I don't know that that case was really made to the people because all they heard was, oh, Donald Trump's slapping tariffs on them. all the countries around the world and getting us in a trade war. Well, he was right, too, because, again, they were taking advantage of us. Now, you know, maybe not percentage per percentage, but they had tariffs on our goods. Well, you know, what goes around comes around kind of thing. Another was with is with the illegal immigration and how.

1:05:43

importing millions and millions of people under the Biden administration and before who've just broken into our country. The cost to our, at the local level, the state level, all across the board, when these people come in, they got no insurance, they got no, you know, start having children who are citizens who immediately are put on benefits. They keep the, they depress the. the wages for American workers. I mean, you just go down the list, and it's incredible the cost that they bring to bear, much less that they get involved in a crime or a knife fight, and now we get the housing in the state penitentiary for the rest of their lives or whatever. So all that to say, you don't hear a lot. All you hear, oh, ICE is rounding up, people, rounding up, people, breaking up families. There's a reason for that. Not only did they break the law, but the cost to our society is tremendous. You know, it's our Americans, and we've got to put America first, not to be trite. No, I mean, you're right. You just got to message that better. And I agree with that. That's a big part of the problem. You know, the media, you can't count on them. My goodness. They're just going to destroy the administration any chance they get and be negative about it. But again, I would get back to the messaging. Look, folks, this is why we're doing it. It's not just to catch people who broke in our country. Yes, it is. But. there's a lot more to it. And it is costing you tremendously in your own income. If you're a, you know, a blue collar type worker that they're replacing. And then in the taxes and the drain and the health care system, I just go, like I said, just go down the list and all the costs that they present when they break our laws and come into our country. And we don't need it. And I, you know, certainly. appreciate the stances that the Trump administration has taken on, at least on those two issues and many others. Yeah, I agree with that. And I want to see more from them on that. A lot of talk over the last couple weeks. Oh, they're changing their leadership at ICE. They want more arrest. That means it's going poorly. And I'm like, I mean, I guess that you could make the argument. But that doesn't mean that they're, all that means is they want to arrest more people. It's like, I don't think the way they're framing it is accurate. But they are sort of trying to push that. So I think that that is correct. All right. Let's move back to Alabama here for a second. Governor K. and other government entities came off about $5 million for SNAP benefits at this point. And it's being used through discretionary spending, I guess, and other emergency funds and stuff like that. But is that it for Alabama? Is that what we're going to do? Or is there probably going to be more down the line if this drags on? Well, I know we're not going to have a special session.

1:08:43

take on the snap burden at the state level. You know, we don't have the money, quite frankly. And that's, so that's not going to happen. You know, I would see this shutdown getting resolved. And I would have thought the latter part of this week. If not, the... Something happened there. We lost him there. Bugsy, see if we can get that back and see if we can get him back in here. We're talking with State Senator Arthur, or we're having a conversation with him. He probably just ran into a bad cell area, but we'll link back up with him and let him finish that thought about when he thought the government shutdown would be resolved. I think a lot of us really believe that it would be done this week. But man, you listen to these people talk sometimes. You got some people saying that they think it could possibly continue on and run into the period of time that is Thanksgiving or broader. I think we have Senator Orr back. Senator Orr, go ahead and finish up your point there where we are at the government shutdown. Oh, we don't have it back. I'm sorry. I thought we had it back on the line. Okay, we'll work on getting him back on the program here in just a couple of minutes. But listen, to his point, there are a lot of people that believe we've got this situation that could be over here relatively soon. If we're there, great. If we're not there, how do we get there? The bipartisan debate going on right now says basically that the Affordable Care Act subsidies need to continue being funded. And I think that their Democrats are kind of trying to hang on for that. And I think that I think they're going to have a hard time getting there. All right, Senator, we're back to what you were saying. Sorry about whatever happened there. I assume you drove into a tunnel or something. But go ahead. No, I'm sitting quite still. I just was dropped. So that's happened kind of frequently lately. So anyway, here we are. Oh, damn. Hey, my phone got hacked. Did you get a crypto text from me by any chance? No, I did not. You know, you got a smart tip for me. You know, I'm all, I'm ready. Well, some people did get a crypto text for me, so congratulations for getting scammed and having your whole phone hacked as well. Anyway, enough of that. The government shut down. You had mentioned something, you know, the thought that it would be over by the end of this week because of what happened in the previous week with the elections. And, you know, there were some suggestion that they were just holding out at this point. Fox News just reported. On this radio station, Senator Orr, that Democrats are basically, they're hanging on to this Affordable Care Act subsidy. Will Republicans cave on that eventually? I don't know, but you know that the notices for the premium increases went out first of November. And so those that are on Obamacare are going to see their premiums go up. So I'm sure.

1:11:43

The Democrats were waiting on that to happen and see those premium increases, notices. Now people getting more concerned and wanting the subsidies to continue. And what I read is that a lot of the subsidies are going to the wealthy. And people that just, you know, their income is kind of low, but they've got plenty in assets and they're being subsidized by Obamacare. But anyway, I. I think it, you know, again, I thought it was going to end towards after the election and whatever, but I think the Democrats may have been energized by this and seeing those notices of premium increases going out, giving them some wind behind their sales, and they think they've got a winner. So they're going to drive it on, which could very well lead, you know, Mr. John Thune and company to just blow up the filibuster rule and go down to strict majority because the president's right. As soon as the Democrats get the Senate, they're going to torch the filibuster rule, and it's just going to be a raw power majority rule, just like the House. And there won't be a chance to stop anything if you've got a few votes. Two questions here real quick. We're running out of time, but I do want to get these in. If the filibuster falls in the United States Senate, Does a, I don't know, a particular Alabama senator from Decatur, does he think, well, they don't need the United States Senate. Maybe we don't need it in the Alabama Senate. What do you think, Senator Orr from Decatur? I think it could happen. Right now it's not an issue because we have, thanks to the people of Alabama, we have a super majority and the Democrats are. about a quarter of the body. So we're in a pretty strong position. But if it's tightened up, yes, it could happen. Well, let's talk about that for a second because that actually piggybacks into the conversation. The next thing. In Mississippi, the supermajority fell. And the supermajority of Republicans fell because they came in and they said, hey, the Voting Rights Act says you've got to draw these black districts. And now you need to have elections and surprise they went to black Democrats. And so the super majority of Mississippi fell. The Voting Rights Act has been discussed in a bunch of different ways. Does Mississippi redraw their lines if that falls? And does Alabama look at what happened in California this week and go, huh? We guess we don't need to send Terri Sewell and Samari figures there anymore. I mean, is that are these possibilities? Yeah, our problem is we have direct Supreme Court orders, more or less, so it's not the right word, but decisions affecting our district lines. And California didn't have that. Mississippi, you know, like you said, had to redraw their legislative lines because of.

1:14:44

court orders and lawsuits based on the Voting Rights Act. But let me tell you, if the Calais, Louisiana case in the Supreme Court, if it throws out the Voting Rights Act and says, we won't go down that rabbit trail, but if they throw it out. It's a whole new ballgame, Dale. The Republicans will, the Democrats will not be able to use this angle to pick up seats. And the Republicans will be able to keep the House at least for several cycles because we'll be able to just redistrict based on politics and not get entangled in the race issue. And so that's, it'll be a whole new game for sure all across the country. Much like the abortion thing, I'll repeat it, ain't no fun when the rabbits got the gun. I mean, and then they're going to learn that. They're going to learn that. And when they stop having all the power and the other side has the power, they're going to find they don't like that. I will also one more quick thing here since I got you. The ALGOP and the AEA, man, they're very interesting. politics stuff here with John Wall and Brad Presnell in this program and 1819 news and all these other things going back and forth. The ALGOP and the AEA have a very fraught history, basically with the AEA's stated objective for as long as I've been in Alabama is to slit the throats of Republicans and replace it with Democrats. That's basically metaphorically, of course. But the Republicans are trying to kind of play nice with them. Is that a mistake by Republicans to play nice with the AEA? Well, I think it's reversed. The AEA has been trying to play nice with the Republicans. And a couple of things there, the Republicans. When we had the school choice bill, the AEA didn't try to block it or do like they used to do in black things. But the bottom line is, Dale AEA realizes the Republican part, this is a red state, and to hang your hat on the Democrats to take care of business, stop legislation, do whatever. That's a certain loser. It's not going to get them anywhere. So they've been playing nice with the Republicans. And again, they didn't try to ambush or sabotage Governor Kay Ivey's school choice bill that's now law. And so they represent their members. They want to pay raise. They want this. They don't want to pay more for health insurance as they should. And so all that to say, they've been. You know, they've taken a different tact from when Paul Hubbard was there and his successor. Okay, there you go. That's true. I think that's true. And you notice Senator Orr wisely stayed away from the throat slitting metaphor. See, there's a lesson there on how politicians can handle these things. All right, Senator Orr, thank you very much. You're going to get in trouble again, Dale.

1:17:42

Oh, my God. Senator Hor, thank you so much. We'll be right back. We appreciate it being here on the Alabama A&M, $350 million, a bulldog hotline. It's a metaphor. We'll be right back. This is The Dale Jackson Show. I have some bad news for you. It's news talk 770 a.m. 92.5 FM WVN. Again, I'm Dale Jackson. Here's something you can be hating on. Lots of talk about the government shut down ending, but it doesn't look like that's the case. When John Thune brings that vote out tomorrow morning to open up the government without dealing with the health care crisis, we are going to vote no once again. We are united in our opposition. So there you got ridges shut down to continue. They're going to have a test vote here. And that test vote's going to say, nah, bra. It doesn't look like we're heading in the right direction on that one. We got hated eight to jump into. Like I said, you could probably hate on that. If you would like, remember this is the last day without Yaffy on the program. Just keep that in mind. That is definitely something you need to remember. Yaffi will be back on Monday. Look, I'm going to just tell you what's going to happen on Monday. he's going to pretend that he's not suspended okay he's going to pretend that he's been on some vacation or he's been out doing something with the family or something like that do not let him do that okay do not let him lie to you and gaslight you and do not let him do that he is a notorious gaslighter understand that he is being punished and he deserves everything that he's getting okay you know so just remember that you can answer our question of the day today and it's this donald trump gives you a call by accident he's not calling you intentionally it's an accident let's be realistic he accidentally called you maybe it's a butt dial who knows but he gives you a call And he says, how are you? And you explain, you're fine. And you want to talk to him. Maybe you hate Donald Trump. Maybe you love Donald Trump. Maybe you're indifferent. What do you tell Donald Trump? What is your message to him after the last week, which is admittedly been pretty rough for him? Do you pat him on the back and tell him, hey, everything's going to be all right? Do you tell him he done goofed? What exactly do you tell him? We'll get into some of these answers here, but you can get your answers in right here right now. You can email. You've got mail. Dale at WVNN.com. That's one way to get in here. That's the downtown rescue mission.org email inbox. You can text them in, which people love to do. 866 494 WVNN. That's the scout pest control.com, WVNN, hot. Take tax light. Let that free speech fly, folks. We'll be right back. Stay tuned. This is The Dale Jackson Show.

Thank you for being here. The government shutdown is about to get a lot worse, people. They're guaranteeing it. What have we made some chaos at the airport and then talk about it for like three days and then told the media to be there at the airport when the chaos starts. Oh, okay. Yeah, let's do that. Let's do that. Okay, good. Smart move, everybody. We're doing great. We're doing absolutely great. I could hate on this guy, but I'm not going to. But did you guys hear the airline CEO say, well, maybe you should just buy a backup ticket? How come that's not getting more attention? He literally said, you got a flight today? Head on over to the airport and bring a backup ticket just in case. Let me just in case. Just a case. And buy one today. Yeah, it's just going, hey, uh, Bugsie, well, I'm loading this up for Hey today. Go, go on, go try to buy a ticket from Huntsville to Chicago for today. It just, just give me a price on what having an extra one in my back pocket might cost me. Okay, just let me know. Let me know. We'll look into that here just say right now, though. I got to tell you, it's eight after the hour. Time to remind you about my good friend Matt Curtis and the Matt Curtis real estate team. He's not shut down. No, he's not. He's still going. And the government may shut down. Matt Curtis never does. Let Matt Curtis help you today. And he will sell home every eight hours and yours could be next. Matt Curtis realestate.com. Let that guy help you today. And what do you do, of course, make sure you tell him. Dale Jackson sent you. There's a lot there he can help you with. So let him do just that. We are about to get in to hate at aid. You could hate on that airline CEO. You could hate. on Jamel Jamain Brown, who was supposed to be on the program and who has no showt us, which is very upsetting to me. But it might have been Thursday last night, so who knows what he's been up to. We will get him on as soon as we possibly can. And that's what we want to do because he's running for governor. And look. I'll be in Montgomery this weekend. I can hunt him down.

1:24:08

Yeah, well, he's out there at Perry Street, apparently. I'll be right by it. So the Democratic Party has three nominees. One is Will Boyd. He is addicted to losing. I mean, he just cannot help himself. He's lost almost every race and why not lose the governor's race? A guy named Chig Martin who posts weird pictures of his daughter on Facebook and is obsessed with marijuana and then Jamel Jamee Brown, the hood pastor. So things are going well for the Democratic Party and I just kind of want to be a part of it. Okay, that's really, that's really what's happening here. So we got to get into hate at eight. Let's go ahead and do that, but do not forget. Our question of the day is simple. I got a $50 gift card to Twin Peaks for you. Here it is. Donald Trump accidentally calls you. You're on the phone with Donald Trump. Maybe you hate him, maybe you love him. Who knows? You're on the phone with him. You get an opportunity to tell him something. Give him some advice. Yell at him. What do you say to him? That's our question of the day. You can get in there. And you can also get in our conversation about questions for 10 with him. What a weird way to say that. 866-494. WVNN. That is the scout pest control.com at WVNN. Hot. Take text line. You can obviously jump right in there. You can email me. You've got mail. Dale at WVNN.com. That's the downtown rescue mission.org email inbox. That's there for you. And you can let your free speech fly as well. 866-494 WVN. But right now we're going to jump into hate at 8 brought to you by scout pest control. You know about them. We talk to them talk about them a lot. Why? Because if I have pests, they deal with them. Whether it's rodents or roaches, ants or bedbugs, brown recluse's suspending yaffy from their webs. Is there brown occlus even have webs? I don't know if that's the thing. I don't know. Either way, mosquitoes outside. Bed bugs inside. Termites inside your walls. You name it. Scout pest control. They deal with all of it. Jared just even been coming to my house for years. And I'll tell you, my pest situation has improved greatly. Regular service, better than the other guys, better price than the other guys, better service than the other guys. Just. Playing better than the other guys. Talk to them today. Jared and his team are awesome. Scoutpass control.com. Use them. WVN and listeners love them. You will as well. They're proud sponsors to this segment every single day. Hate that day. I'm as bad as hell, and I'm not going to take this anymore.

1:26:38

What's got you steamed? What's got you mad? Tell us now. It's time for hate at eight. Now, if any of you got anything else to say, now the time. Yeah, yeah, now is the time. Now is the place. Go ahead and get it there and let that hate flow through you. Let's go to the most hateful person I know. And they're wondering, who am I going to go to when I say that? Bugsy! Do you have an answer for me about Chicago? Yeah, I do. So it's actually cheaper than I thought it would be. It's 260 for a one, I think it's, yeah, one-way flight nonstop. Well, it looks like you also have to come back, though, so let's just double that. So do you want a round trip? Well, you don't have to if it's just a backup ticket, right? But you need the backup ticket to come back. So let's just say 520. Hey, don't worry. Just $520. Don't worry about it. No big deal. Just go out there and buy an extra ticket. No big deal. Hey, look, Bugsie's got it like that, I guess. Bugsy, what are you hating on? No, I'm hating on you. I'm hating on myself. Actually, I hate hating on myself, but I am. Yesterday, I was stuck in traffic. And you know, like, the horrible people that honk when they're in traffic, like, they're idiots usually, right? Like, they can see everybody is stuck in traffic. It's pointless to honk. Emily, Emily's face tells me she takes personal offense to that framing, but all right, go ahead. I'm talking like you're backed up really far, and like one random guy is honking. Right. Like, they're the jerk, right? Anyways, I was texting somebody, and instead of using my voice to text, I actually had my phone out for once, and I, for some reason, laid my arms on my horn. And I hung up. You became the person you hate. And there's no way to tell everybody around me that, sorry guys, I didn't mean to. You know, I accidentally honked. And then I was stuck with those people for forever. It was like 30 minutes just sitting there. Yeah, the accidental Hulk is a big problem. Yeah, yeah, yeah, that is, that's, yeah, I don't like the accidental honk. Yeah, to make it worse, the same guy that was behind me there was behind me when I turned and I accidentally had the wrong blinker on and I just felt like an idiot. You guys should not be allowed to drive at all. Okay, thank you. Thank you very much. All right, Emily, you've been slandered in this so far, so what do you hate it on? I'm hating on the automatic paper towel dispensers in public bathrooms that give you just a fraction of a sheet to dry your hands with. And then you have to stand there and wait for like the light to reset and then wave your hand in front of it to get another just short little piece of paper to dry your hands. It's very frustrating. I hate it. That's when you turn to the person that's standing next to you, washing their hands too, and you just dry your hands on their shirt. Ah, there you go. That's what you're supposed to do. The grant method. Just a random stranger, though. Okay, yeah, that's fine. I think it's a completely fair way to live your life. That's a good idea. A good idea. Let's be as terrible to each other as we possibly can. I agree.

1:29:28

All right, Dale, what are you hating on? I am hating on the person who interviewed Cindy Sweeney the other day. Have you seen this? This interview is something. Holy cow. And I give Sidney credit not only for having great jeans, but for giving zero Fs. Because it is, it is fantastic. And the face this woman is making. Holy cow. This woman is making the... I'm going to be an obnoxious person, but I'm also very ugly sitting next to one of the most beautiful people on the planet who's being very sweet and nice to me. So just listen to how she talks. I'm maybe going to comment on her physical appearance because it will come across as you hear this clip. This is Cindy Sweeney and an interview for GQ and yes, the jeans things come up, but so do some other stuff. But listen to how this woman talks to Cindy Sweeney. I'm literally in jeans and a t-shirt, like every day of my life. Jeans are uncontroversial. Jeans are awesome. Jeans are awesome. That's the interviewer. You look great in your jeans. I think I know how you're going to answer this, but I'm going to ask anyway. I mean, the president tweeted about the jeans ad or truth socialed about the jeans ad. And that just seems to me like a very crazy moment. for anyone and I wondered what that was like. It was surreal. It was surreal. And it would be totally human. I would probably feel like thankful that somebody had my back in public, you know, and conveniently some very powerful people had my back in public. And I wondered if you felt that way.

1:31:19

I don't think, I don't think that it's not that that feeling didn't, I don't have that feeling, but I wasn't thinking of it like that, like, of any of it. I kind of just put my phone away. I was filming every day. I love this answer because the answer is, um, This is your issue, not mine. I don't care about this. This whole thing, it gets worse, but so far this first question is, Donald Trump texted you and he put a message out there on Tuesdays. How does this make you feel? It's like, God, say the words, please. But the body language this woman's using is sort of this. We all know that you hate this. And let's just agree you hate this because, so we don't have to do this, because I don't want to have to do this. So can you just like say you hate Donald Trump and we can maybe move on? And Sydney Sweet is like, no, I'm not going to do that. I'm filming euphoria. So I'm working like 16 hour days. And I don't really bring my phone on set. So. Lie, by the way. I 100% lie. No way that's true. I work and then I go home and I go to sleep. So I didn't really, I don't really see a lot of it. You've made a really good case for keeping your thoughts and your life separate from that work. But the risk is that, you know, There's a chance that somebody will get some idea about what you think about certain issues. And... Your ad was like white supremacist. And don't you think that you should disavow? I feel like I don't want to see Christy because of that. Like, do you worry about that? No. So, like, I'm a stupid bitch, and I'm going to ask you a lot of leading questions, and you're not going to give me anything here, but I'm still going to ask them. Emily? What do you think so far? I would have to walk away. Yeah, well, it gets worse. Hold on here. Let's listen to the rest. Let's listen to the rest. No. The criticism of the content, which was basically that maybe specifically in this political climate, like white people shouldn't joke about genetic superiority. The look Cindy Sweeney is giving this girl is my favorite look of all time. I mean, she, and it's on the radio, I get it, but just the look. on her face and emily i'm gonna want you i want you to do something look at this screen here i'm gonna post this up here so we know what we're talking about here so we both have this thing i want you to describe that photo that that is right here including this walking emoji on the top here she looks like the like it's just gross and then you have sidney here explain the two photos uh i don't even know how to explain the one up top top

1:34:27

As I hear of coming back. Oh, I'm sorry about that. Go ahead. But Sydney, Sweeney's face is like, if I wasn't, it makes me think, if I wasn't contractually obligated to be here, I would not be here. You're wasting my time. And. A little bit of the Greta Thurnberg. How dare you? So what's happening here is this woman is doing this whole, like, well, I mean, you know it's white supremacist adjacent, right? We all know that. You're not a white supremacist, are you? And here's your opportunity to sit here and distance yourself from this white supremacy. She's got that look of, I'm here to do my work and promote my work and not to talk about this mess. Yes. Hold on. Here we go. One more quick one. I get this in here. Hold on. This is the best part. Christy because of that. Like, do you worry about that? No. No. The criticism of the content, which was basically that maybe specifically in this political climate, like. White people shouldn't joke about genetic superiority. Like, that was kind of like the criticism, broadly speaking. And since you are talking about this, I just wanted to give you an opportunity to talk about that specifically. I think that when I have an issue that I want to speak about, people will hear. I just, I'm going to give you a chance to disavow this thing. It's like, yeah, I'm not going to do that. And I think that's great. This is fantastic. Kudos to her. I already was a super fan. I mean, come on. I mean, I've never seen a single thing this person does. Everything I've learned about her has been against my will. But. I'm a fan. I'm a fan. And now you're actually getting to see her deal with this. Everyone should deal with this the exact same way. And you may have seen Kira Knightley recently. She was on like being interviewed by someone about J.K. Rowling. And they're like, uh, jk. Rowling is like a trans home and like, can you have to work with her? And she's like, I didn't even think about it. It's like, we have to live with each other. This is fine. People are going to disagree. And that's the exact correct answer. Just tell these people to go to hell. That's great. So I'm hating on this other lady. Go watch an interview. It is. infuriating. We'll be right back. Stay tuned. Dale Jackson. News talk 770 a.m. at 92 5 FM, WBN. Uh, yeah, we got this. Uh, yeah, we got the, uh, hated eight. God, what an unlikable person. Has any person ever talking about people? I love that person. I love that. They are delightful. Emily, that report, that weather time report voice is still better than Tories. Why? Everyone's so mean to. By the way, this guy, I love this guy. I love this guy. I'm going to tell you this right now. Some of you on the text line, I love, some of you I despise. I love this guy. You know why? He listens to my husband and he listens to my chat to the show.

1:37:25

He's like, oh, yeah, if he's on, that, switching over to the other station. I'm out of this. I'm out. I'm out. But anyway, yes. All right. Anyway, okay, so we've got our $50 free for all Friday question of the day. The question is, it has been, and I know I've got a lot of answers I need to get into. The question has been, what would you tell Donald Trump if you got on the phone with him after he's had a rough week? He accidentally calls you and you still want to kind of holler at your boy. Even you're mad at him. What do you tell him? What do you tell him and what do you say to him? So I think that there's a lot of stuff here, and I do want to get to you and give you guys an answer. Here's one. I would tell him, I would ask him if I could get some of my money back from BB. You just made the list. There's a lot of anti-Jew stuff, man. I'm sorry. All this talk, all this talk about like how Israel is doing something wrong or any of this stuff. Guys, I don't know. I don't know how you can look at it otherwise other than it being anti-Semitic. I know. You can't criticize Israel without being an anti-Semite. Well, I mean, you probably could. But if the entire hook is, why are they responding to their citizens being slaughtered? I think that there's maybe something there. Or if you become more pro-Palestinian after what they did to them on October 7th, you might kind of be a fan of what they did. And that's kind of anti-Semitic. I'll just be honest with you. And if you're talking about the USS Liberty, you're probably anti-Semitic. I'm sorry. That's just the way it is. Anyway. Moving on, this is probably the best one. I don't know how to top this. If we could just hand it out without having to do it at random, this would be the winner. 6-7, 6-7 for Trump. You just made the list. Thank you. It's nice to see that someone got a hold of their dad's phone on the way to work today. I would tell President Trump to make up his mind and we don't care if he has 100% tariffs on everyone. Just make up his mind and give us some consistency so the rest of us can plan accordingly. Can I tell you something about tariffs? Just this is what I think is going to happen. The Supreme Court is going to say, hell no, you can't do this. And the stock market's going to blow up. go up, as it blow up, go up. I think that's what's going to happen. I think the economy is going to rebound in a good way when all these tariffs go away. And Trump's going to say, look, they've throttled me what I can do on tariffs, but I still got a bunch of deals based on that's what he's going to say. That's what he's going to say. He's going to say, I won, I won, I did what I could, and now the courts are telling me I can't do it anymore. and they're sort of going to be protecting them from himself. That's what I think is going to happen. I could be wrong about that, but the general consensus is, and by the way, the expert's general consensus is usually wrong, so who knows what to take of this, is that the conversation about tariffs is not going well at the Supreme Court for him. So there we go. We'll return. Stay tuned. You're listening to the Dale Jackson Show.

1:40:35

The United States Soccer Federation presents the U.S. Soccer Podcast. I'm your host, Megan Klingerberg. One thing I promised you is an all-access pass that you wouldn't get on any other show. And we found out that whoever comes on scores a goal. Burhope, Freeman, trustee. U.S. soccer podcast magic is real people. We still got plenty of coverage all throughout this World Cup. Okay, let's get into it. The U.S. soccer podcast. Presented by Henko. Follow and listen on your favorite. Some very interesting questions. Very interesting questions coming in for 10 with him. And I will, of course, get to them as we move through the program here today. All I ask. is that you make them as inflammatory as possible. Okay. That's all I ask. That's all that's all I ask. Just make them as inflammatory as possible. And we will get to as many of them as we possibly can. We are still trying to get in touch with Hood Pastor Jamel Germain Brown. Emily, question. Did he bail on us or is there a good reason? I think he's asleep. You think he's asleep? Asleep, passed out, whatever. Last night's festivities may have done a number on him. I've passed out before on top of my phone and not heard alarms or anything like that. Okay, I hope this was a long time ago before you had kids. Yeah, yeah, yeah. This is what I was... I was around the time I lived on South Perry Street. So you were a hood pastor as well. Got it. Yep. Okay. Let's hope that's case. But, you know, he mentioned on his social media that he had some health issues or something discovered yesterday. So I can't imagine that that's actually what's going on. So I hope that's not it. I hope he is just asleep. And that would be nice if we could get him on the program to talk with him about that. Okay. So let's leave it there and pause right there. Emily, government shut down. Resolved this week? Yes? No. No. No, number 20. But, okay, you're still sticking with that. Yeah, I'm going to stick with it, Dale. I'm not, I mean. You put a lot of thought into it when you came up with it. No, I didn't. I just went with what my gut said. I'm well aware you put zero thought into it. You just picked the day. I mean, if they're back on November 20th, roll tide. Yeah, that's exactly. Speaking of our roll tide friends, let me ask you a question about the roll tide. In the beginning of the year, I'm not saying don't take this. You're going to take this how you want. Just say it. Okay. Yeah, I was always like, why am I even prefacing this? There was a lot of talk. Some may be on this show about whether or not Kalin DeBoer needed to hang around for another year. And there was a lot of talk about whether or not he would hang around for another year. Well.

1:43:42

The college football playoff first round, first list we're going to call it, is now in play. And they're number four. They're out there. They're out there saying, okay, let's go. And they're looking pretty good. How do you feel? How do you feel about ripping on the old ball coach there? Ripping on the old ball coach. What do you want to call it? Okay, sorry. You were being kind of a prick about him. What do you think about how stupid you look? I don't feel like I look stupid. I feel like he heard the fan base. He heard the fan base and the team did as well and they tightened up and got down to business. Like, they played like crap against FSU and they ripped each other and you. Uh-huh. I'm down. Listen. They got it together, and they're returning to what the fans expect of the program. And the thing is, if they had hard fought and lost, it would have been one thing with the FSU game. But they didn't care. And that was problematic. And it was all my opinion. But that's how I felt about that. Okay. All right. Just wondering, where do you think Donald Trump stands on Kaila Daboard's job? Would you ask him if you called him? Would I? I know, listen. What if he called you? No, he gave him a roll tide when he was speaking overseas. He also, he also called into the Auburn turning points rally. It was like, I love Auburn. And it's great. Alabama is a very special place to us. So maybe you get the opportunity one day. Maybe he calls you. Maybe he does it on today because it's Friday. And now. from sunny North Alabama. It's $50 free for all Friday! All right, $50 for all Friday here on the Dale Jackson show. And you know what that means? Well, it means we give you a question. We give you an opportunity to answer that question. We give you $50.00 Twin Peaks gift card. Yes, that's right. That is what we're going to do here. And here is how it works. I ask you a simple question. You tell me the answer. I give you somewhat a $50 gift card. It's that simple. Today's question is Donald Trump accidentally calls you. Whether you like him or not, what do you say to him? A couple of different ways for you to get in here and share that opinion. Scoutpest control.com. WVNN hot tank text line at 866-494 WVNN. You can also email. You've got mail. Dale at WVNN.com. That is the downtown rescue mission.org email inbox. Or you can always get in on the free speech phone lines as well, 866-494 WVN. All right, Emily, we know what you wouldn't say to him. What do you say to him? You could fire this up. What do you say to Donald Trump if he calls you today and you're like, oh, Mr. President. I didn't know you'd be calling. He's like, I heard good things about you down on Perry Street. So let's talk a little bit about that. You and the hood pastor. What's going on?

1:46:57

That was not a good time in my life. For the record, she does not know the hood pastor, Jamel, to me. I don't. I just, I did live on South Perry Street and it was not. Which is where the governor's mansion is for those who don't know. Go ahead. Yes. And it's in the hood. Yeah, but the apartment I rented, they told me that I needed to take a third floor apartment since I was a single female. So, um. I would tell you kind of alluded to this earlier that you would say some of the same stuff that you would have said to him like five years ago, which is kind of where I am, which is let your actions speak for you. Just buckle down and get the work done. You don't always have to be talking to the media. But that... takes away the essence of Trump so it would never happen. That's exactly right. I agree with that. I absolutely agree. Because he will, he will, he will, his mouth will overshadow all the good that he's done, all the progress that he's made. Absolutely. A hundred percent. A hundred percent. That is a, that is a great response to that because that is exactly what you should be saying to him. Hey, let's just do the job, dude. And I always say this. If Donald Trump had got banned from Twitter three months before the 2020 election, he had won. I mean, honestly, if they just took this guy and sat him in a room and said, tell people your ideas and what you want to do, and then they went out and tried to implement them and let the Mike Pence's and the JD Vance's and the others of the world sort of like take the lead on this. I would think that it would be better off. I think he would. So I tend to agree with that. A little bit of news here. I didn't mention this in the seven things that maybe I should have. A federal judge has ordered Donald Trump to fund snap. Just keep that. That's worth noting here. Fully fund it. Basically, find the money. I love it. I love it. Hey, you got this money, right? He's like, no, we can't fund it without it. Well, you should just find the money.

1:49:02

That's the rule. That's okay. All right. I mean, I just like, why do we even, why do we even, we just need a bunch of judges around the country. Just let them do it. We're in the middle of the government shutdown. Okay. We're not going to pay these people. Yes, you are. Hey, we're not going to snap. Yes, you are. Like, where is the authority here for a judge to do that? Where is that? And what's the White House supposed to do? Challenge this? How does that look? The president of state, I'm ordered to pay this. I don't want to do it, so I'm going to take him to court. I'm going to challenge this. But a federal judge at Rhode Island ordered the Trump administration to fully cover federal food assistance for 42 million Americans in November by Friday. According to this, federal judge John Mitch McConnell said during a hastily called hearing on November 6th that the USDA has not worked quickly enough to release the funds after his earlier order on the resources, he also said the government had acted arbitrarily and capriciously in deciding not to shift certain funds to fully pay for the supplemental nutrition assistance program. Yeah, that's how that you elect a chief executive to do just that. That's his job. That's his job. So I said, what are they going to do? Appeal the order? The answer is yes. The Trump administration quickly moved to appeal the order, making it unclear when SNAP benefits would be paid on Friday. JD Vance rightly said it's an absurd ruling telling reporters, in the middle of the shutdown, we can't have a federal judge telling the president how he must triage the situation. And then we get this. JD Vance suggested the administration might not comply with the order. The president of the entire administration are working on that, but we're not going to do it under the orders of a federal judge. He's not implying, and he's saying it. On that one, okay, hey, if you've been looking for that moment, if you've been looking for that moment where they can say, they're ignoring federal judges, there it is. That's it. That is it. And I will tell you. They're right. I mean, that's the important thing. They're right about this. They are absolutely correct about this. And the idea that they're just supposed to say, okay, well, I guess we'll go fund this as if there's like a mountain of money they're sitting on going, we're not going to give this out. We're not going to give this out. We're not going to do that. Look, this is all resolved by getting the government open. But the more this stuff goes on, the longer the government stays shut. Just keep that in mind. Keep this in mind. The more that this stuff goes on, the longer the government stays closed down. All right. You okay? This is such a dishonest. Emily, listen, I want you to ask that entire question that you've written up here on the screen. No, I only put part of it. Okay, I'm going to ask it then right here. Okay, I'm going to ask it right here just in order to answer it. Okay, forget it. We're not going to ask it during 10 with him. We're going to ask it right now. Here it is. Somebody wrote this in and said, Emily is scared to say ass on the radio, question Marco Rubio politician said retarded earlier.

1:52:17

Although not in its funniest context. Okay, let's calm down here for a second. Arthur Orr said that the decision there retarded growth. That's what he said, which is the appropriate use of the word. I knew what he said that. Somebody was going to be like, did he just say retarded? Did he just say the hard R? We're pretending that that's what this is. God, you should not call people retarded. That's true. But you can say that retarded growth, okay? Meaning it kept things from growing. But good Lord, stop it. Just absolutely stop that. Okay, we're not even doing that. We're not even doing that. All right, Mike says he'd tell Donald Trump that he'd meet him at McDonald's in 15 minutes. Hmm. Do you think he's like down the street or something? Okay, that's cool. Not as Bill Clinton calls you. What does Donald Trump border at McDonald's? Quarter pounder with cheese and a diet coat. French fries. Mm-hmm. I'm guessing he's one of those guys that comes in and gets an additional quarter-pounder with this quarter-pounder with cheese extra value meal. That's me. I know a lot of those people. Donald Trump's one of them. When I worked. You saw him coming a million miles away, too. You saw them mostly because when they walked, it was like this. Or one of their legs don't longer works anymore, so it's more like.

1:53:43

Quarter powder with cheese, meal, supersized, fry, Diet Coke, and an additional quarter powder. That's it. Okay, there it is. Usually double quarter powders too. Anyway, I don't know why. Can I follow up on that text for a second? You want an apple pie too? Go ahead. It wasn't that I, there's a combination. You didn't want to say the word retarded. I understand. No, but there's a combination of words that you can't, like you can say ass, but you can't say other things. And I was fired up and about to say the combo word. And I don't want to be suspended. What's a combo word? Dumbass? No. Stupid? I'm not going to say it. Is that it? Oh. Do you get it now? I didn't know the whole thing. But that's where I was fired up going that way. I didn't know the whole thing. Oh. Yeah, thank you. All right. Thank you. Thanks, guys. This has been a good run of the show. Hey, that it has to end today. Hold on. I didn't know the whole thing. All right. Moving on. I tell Donald Trump that he got elected because he and JD were real espousing common sense ideas, which was a direct contradiction to Biden. They were unreal, unable to speak clearly, not innovative, artificial and staged. Be real. Avoid Stilton presentations like Pam Bondi and the Epsi 3 Ring binder that blew up in their face. Let the media cover them talking to the people, foreign dignitaries, etc. But stay real, responsive, flexible, and innovative. I think that's good advice. You just made the list. I think that's really good advice. That is exactly the kind of stuff. that Donald Trump needs to hear. So yeah, if he called, that'd be really good advice. He'd be very good to listen to that. Invite, this is what Derek says, invite 500 members from all branches to the White House and serve them a meal, then show them at the event supporting furloughed government employees and hand out food and some money. You just made the list. Yeah, that's good advice too. Let's see. Oh, Eva says, send ice to Alabama. You just made the list. All right. Look, these are good ideas. These are good ideas. This is exactly what you should be doing. And I like it. Advising this guy. And my advice to him is as follows. Ready? Here we go. And then we'll take a quick break. I would say to Donald Trump. Chill out. Okay, that's what I would say. I would say you need to calm down a little bit. You need to, yes, do interviews and stuff like that, but you don't have to fill every second with silence. I tell my wife this too. Not every moment needs to be either Donald Trump talking or people saying, where's Donald Trump? Okay, because that's basically the world of which we've been living in this entire time. You back off that a little bit. Leave the people wanting more.

1:56:47

Okay, that's really what you want. And when someone asks you a question, watch. That's all you got to do is this. How do you feel about tariffs? Well, I think it's a good negotiating ploy. And I think we should use them in order to bring back manufacturing to the United States. And we're going to see what happens with the Supreme Court, but I think I have the ability to do them. That's all you got to say. Instead, he gives a 75 second answer. where half of it is about how Nancy Pelosi is a vile woman. It's like, what are you doing? By the way, Nancy Pelosi does suck. And this idea that he's like a bad guy for saying how horrible, she just remember two days ago, she said he's the worst thing on the planet. Okay, and so when Donald Trump says she's a vile woman, I don't know why we're acting like that's uncouth or something like that. Give me a break. Let's take a quick time out. We'll continue. Ten with him coming up next. You guys got a lot of good questions in here. I can't wait to answer them all. Stay tuned. It's the Dale Jackson Show. Ongoing effort to get four questions in for 10 with him here on the Dale Jackson show. Bugs, he's going to bring that music down very quickly, and we're going to get to 10 with... Him. It's time to answer the deep questions. It's 10 with him. Take questions, 10 minutes, politics, personal, pop culture, pro wrestling, paris social relationships, and baseless personal attacks. We're adding to it. Let's do it. Take it away. Emily. When one branch of government fails to do their job, why is it now your Trump's responsibility to pay the bill? Because he's the president of the free world and people will always blame the president when bad stuff goes down because he is in charge of the government. So that's why he asked for the job. He got the job and now he has to do the job. So that's why he's going to get blamed for it. uh always plus he has staked himself out as the face of the republican party and that is the face everyone sees non-stop see my previous comments so therefore he gets to deal with it yeah i think that's i think it's relatively fair next question is the is the government oh gosh i got to read it the way it's written is the government is really shut down i still see taxes taken out of my paycheck so i know someone is there Okay, the government is shut down. You are continuing to pay taxes. Somebody is still there, but parts of the government are shut down. Not all of it. This is not a purge situation. Sorry. Sorry. Well, maybe we'll get there next week. Next question. Is Emily going to blame everyone else because she named her kid a name with a silent letter in it? Hashtag women. Quick question. Bugsy. Is Emily a woman? I think so, yes. And what are the two rules about women on this program? Rule number one is? Okay, that's number one. What's rule number two? I don't know. Women hate accountability. It's their kryptonite. It's their kryptonite. It's their kryptonite. And so the answer is no. It's to indicate that it's a long vowel O instead of a short vowel sound of the O.

1:59:58

Why you have the tea. Hey, look, when Superman gets hit with kryptonite, he starts to falter too. So we see it. We understand it. Next question. All right. Is Baron Trump time travel book a piece of nonfiction? Did your uncle John Trump steal time travel secrets from Nikola Tesla's apartment? Is there a Baron Trump time travel book? And if there is, why haven't I read it? Wait, I can't read. If there is a Baron, if there is a Baron Trump time travel book, I want to know more about it. Barron Trump Collection travels an adventure, a little Baron Trump and his Wonder Dog Bulger, Baron Trump's marvelous underground journey. Bro, I don't know. We're going to have to tell. Yeah, he travels throughout human history. There is a Baron Trump time travel book. We got to think more about this. Next question. So what in a better question of the day should be what horrible, malicious act of aggression Yaffi was guilty of that got him suspended for a week? I kind of want to keep my job. I think even referencing what Yaffi did even obliquely would be problematic. Don't you think so, Emily? Like. It just would. Okay. Can you go ahead and go like one more question, please? One more question, but talk to the normal person? Yes. Dale, have you ever fired anyone and then regretted doing it? Not really. No, I haven't ever. No, I've never been involved in the firing of a single person and been like, man, that was unfortunate. I mean, while I was going through it, yes, because, God, corporate America, a lot of paperwork and nonsense. But, no, it's usually, I mean, come on, to get fired from a radio station, you've got to be doing something pretty bad. I mean, you might get suspended like if he did. This is the Dale Jackson Show. Jim Rome takes on sports. I will always have a complicated relationship with this game. But people evolve. So do sports. Do not make me regret this. Do not make me devolve.
