26 segmentsNow time for the seven things you'll be talking about today. Number seven. Yes, yes, yes. Number seven, Lieutenant Governor Will Ainsworth is facing an online backlash from ill-informed coaches of high school football after he wrote a social media post. And that social media post said, hey, maybe we shouldn't split up the public and private high school football playoffs. The coaches are very upset about this because they're mad about the Choose Act, mostly because they're ill-informed and they've been told to be mad about it. The Alabama High School Athletic Association continues to feed itself into a controversy, and if they keep doing that solely because of the Choose Act, and these coaches continue to spouting off and looking like absolute buffoons, well... You're not going to like what happens next. The Alabama High School Athletic Association is going to be destroyed, and you're going to have a new entity in its place. And you know what? It's probably time for that anyway. Number six. Israel has recovered the body of the last remaining hostage held in Gaza. This has been going on for hundreds about hundreds of days, and we finally have a resolution here. And to watch. Hamas and the Palestinians respond to this like they did a favor or a solid or they have somehow done a good thing. It makes you want to send another missile. It really does. These people could have done this on day one. They could have not committed a massive terror attack and attempted genocide and they wouldn't have been bombed from the Stone Age into the pre-stone age. But this is the mindset. of these people. They would rather kill their neighbors than succeed on their own. So that's where they are. Hey, good luck with getting to peace. I guess we're about to move on to phase two of this. Number five. I say shut it down. I say shut it down. I say shut it down right now. The White House rejected Democrat demands to alter DHS funding amid the ICE backlash. Now look, I'm going to tell you this right now. ICE is funded to 2029. You want to shut down the government. That's fine. It looks like the only part of the government that will operate is the part going after illegal immigrants. And I'm fine with that. United States Senator Katie Britt. Alabama's junior senators expressed hope to avoid a shutdown after calls for defunding ICE by Democrats have come after the Alex Pready shooting. Well, don't fight with cops. I mean, that's it. I mean, don't fight with cops. I mean, don't fight with cops. You're going to shut down the government because some idiot fought with cops and got killed? Okay, sure, shut it down. Number four. A war has broke out in the 2026 race for lieutenant governor. Two lieutenant governor stories in the same day.
Yeah, I know. I know. I know. I know. It's crazy. It's crazy. Anyway, Wes Allen and John Wall won the Secretary of State. The other... The former chair of the Alabama Republican Party, they are showing their stark differences in vision, experience, and policy priorities. One has the Trump endorsement, which I think is going to come and play a huge role in this. But Wes Allen is not laying down. He says, I am the only candidate in the race with a proven record of standing up against liberals and defending Alabama's Christian conservative values. while establishing the strictest voter integrity standards in the nation and have the endorsement of farmers, forcers, businesses, large and small, the vast majority of Alabama's Republican caucus members. So they're going to mix it up. Great. Number three. After the fake Somalian daycare scandal in Minnesota. Governor-elect National Championship winning coach, United States Senator Tommy Tuberville, Republican out of Auburn, has launched a task force to target waste, fraud, and abuse in education systems across the country. Now, who could possibly have a problem with this? Who could possibly see a problem with this? Well, you're going to find people have a lot of problems in this. Tubermills said a little more than a year ago, the American people overwhelmingly voted for president. Trump's agenda to cut out waste fraud abuse from our government after losing more than $19 billion under Tim Walz's watch to fake Somaliant daycares. It's evident that there's still work to be done. We must aggressively tackle this issue from all sides to ensure corrupt politicians never misuse America's harder taxpayer dollars again. I can't really gripe with that. That's exactly what happened. That's good. Number two. Tom Homan, the Borders are. Yes, the Borders are. It is now heading to Minnesota. You can hear a lot about how, oh, they have fired. Bovino, who was, I guess, leading that operation. Hey, guys, let me tell you something. They're going to do the same thing to the next guy that leads the operation. They don't want any immigration enforcement up there. But the borders are Tom Homan will go up and address what's going to happen there in Minnesota. I don't think they're going to get what they want. I don't think that's good. I don't think they're going to get what they want. I think Tom Homan's a bit of a hard ass himself. U.S. Representative Barry Moore of Enterprise, praise Trump for the immigration cleanup. Terri Sewell, Democrat out of Birmingham and Sharmary Figures out of Montgomery, criticized federal agents and the administration for what is going on in the state. Now, time for the number one thing you'll be talking about today. A highly emotional, hypersensitive weatherman.
is telling you that, hey, it's just cold and dry. And that's what you're going to be looking at for the next couple of days. Okay? That's what you're going to be looking at. And I only mention that he's a hyper-sensitive, highly emotional weatherman because of... I don't know. I don't really like his shit. I'll just be honest with you. He's a legend and all this other stuff. But anyway, he's right. James Storm. James Storm. James Span for James Storm is a wrestler. James Span forecasting cold, dry days ahead for Alabama following the latest winter storm. It's caused up to 34 deaths across multiple states with hundreds of thousands of power outages and hazardous conditions persisting. in other states. Alabama dodged a bullet on this one. And we should all be very excited about that. We should all be very happy about that. I know it's cold. I know it's dry. I know everyone wants to move on with their lives, as we should. And isn't it wonderful? Schools are opening up just a little bit later because it's a little chilly out there for the babies. We've got to make sure that we be very careful here. But yes, it's a little chilly out there. And they have decided not to open a lot of schools, not to open on time, maybe push it back a little bit. That's fine. That's fine. But again, big props to my kids' school. They don't listen to the Huntsville Hospital, Madison County situation. We're not followers. We're leaders. We open up on time. Most of the time. Listen, I'm going to make a plea here to all the members of the Huntsville City School Board. Listen to me. Listen to me good. Make me the next superintendent. And here's what I will do. Here's my promise to you. The schools will open every single day. Now, if you don't want your kids to go to school because it's not safe on winter weather days and stuff, they will have excused absences. But the teachers will be there. Because life does go on even if it's cold. Okay? Dale's not a daycare center. Okay. Well, in those days it is. That's how I would handle it. But what do I know? I should run for school board. Nah, make too much money doing this. Let's say a quick time out. We'll return right here on WVNN. Get WBNN's Dale Jackson seven things you should be talking about today.
