225 FM, WVN. Dale Jackson here with you. Thank you so much for being here. Apologies to those who were listening earlier this hour. I was a little late this morning, and I'll tell you why. It's Grant's fault. Yeah, I mean, I just have to be honest with you. I have to tell you the truth. I believe in full disclosure and all of that. It is Grant's fault. It is 100% his fault. He's got baseball tryouts coming out next week. And we were kind of messing around and trying to figure out exactly what we needed to work on leading into this year's trial. I'm trying to convince him to become a catcher. It's coach pitch. It's all this other stuff. I get it. But I'm trying to convince him to become a catcher. I played catcher when I was little. And it's one of the reasons why I'm so damn tough. You know, it's one of the reasons. And I wanted him to play. I wanted him to learn a skill. I wanted to be a good. I told him, I said, look, I said, the thing about us, and I'm looking at him and me, I said, we're not going to be Ken Griffey Jr. You know, we're not going to be, you know, Sean Otani. We're not going to be, God, I hate to date myself. We're not going to be Doc Gooding. Gooden, excuse me, we're going to, we can be, but we can't be John Krug or Darren Dalton. Those two Phillies guys that I seem to remember. We, we could be Greg Maddox. We could be that. You got to get in where you fit in. And you got to realize, you know, Grant is built like a little barrel. I think he's built like a catcher. He's ready to go. And I think he's a tough little guy. And I'm like, we got to teach you how to play catcher. So we've been working on that. Anyway, yesterday we were going out that he wants to play third base. He's okay. He's good. He can make the throw pretty well. It's stopping the ball, which obviously is the real problem. But at that age, they all have that problem. So I told him yesterday, I said, go out to the garage in my car and get your glove. Let's come up here. Let's do something here real quick. So he goes out to the car. Can't find his glove, but apparently left every light in my car on. So as he was looking for the glove, he left every light the car on. And yeah, woke up this morning, go to get the car. And my car is dead. Now, I don't, this is my wife's old car. And I go to get in it to put it in neutral and push it back. So I can give myself a little bit of room to get this thing jumped and move my wife's car into the position where I can jump this thing. And it won't go into neutral if it's dead. That is, I do not realize. I got to figure out what's going on with that because I don't know if that's a built-in feature or I just couldn't figure it out. But that is a, it's an interesting.

3:17

A little tidbit there that I learned this morning, so I'm going to take a look at that. So if you have a reason why that would be, and maybe it's just the new electrical systems on cars or something like that, I don't know the answer to that, but I haven't, I've done zero research on it as well. So I found that to be kind of a bit of an issue here this morning. We have bumped Mo Brooks to the next segment of the program. We normally would have them on right here. We'll talk to him about the state of the union and some other stuff that's going on. He is running for State House. and he is a former congressman, so I bet he has some perspective on a lot of things. The perspectives on the state of the union continue to come in, and they generally are this. Why Democrats do this to themselves? What is up with Democrats? And why are they doing this to themselves? Donald Trump's speech wasn't crazy or any of those other things. You can make it out to be that way if you'd like. But a lot of people don't really view it that way that it was crazy. It's just he went out and gave a very policy-laden speech and he did the whole like, look at this guy, look at that guy, look at this guy, told Democrats to stand up. Meanwhile, the Democrat reaction to it, not standing for the hockey players, not standing for American citizens over illegal immigrants, this is becoming quite the issue for them. And one of the people who seems to be making the most sense of this, oddly enough, is the guy who had a stroke. And a lot of people hear that and think, oh, you're making fun of someone with like a mental issue and, you know, an injury. And I'm not. I'll tell you why I bring that up repeatedly. And I think it's pretty simple. This is not a profound thought by any stretch. The reason I bring it up is because it goes to show you that a guy who apparently has lost his ability to calculate and maneuver and BS might be the most honest man. You see the movie Liar, Liar, right? Everyone's seen that movie? Everyone see Liar, Liar, Liar. In the movie, Liar,

5:35

loses the ability to lie. And he becomes a better guy. I think this is really where John Fetterman is. I think he's lost the ability to lie so much so that he's just this new era of truth telling. Or he is a new bringer of the truth. Let's put it that way. Okay. And I think that's... That's interesting. That is very interesting. So I find it to be compelling when he speaks out on different things because I think he's telling. his truth as they say listen to him here he is i don't care if it's a republican or democrat as a president just don't do that don't do that respect the office regardless who's in that and now for for me it's like now when half the people in my party haven't showed up uh and then some of them have chosen to just yell and say and scream during all of it. I just don't think that's what we want. And I don't believe as a Democrat, I think like dancing frogs really moves the ball for us as a party either. See, he's calling them out for their affinity for like these blow-up animal characters these people are doing and furries and all this other stuff that they're a part of. And they think it's. like good video or good optics that they hold a protest and a bunch of people show up in costumes all you do is go look at the next round of no king's protest on a lot of them you see wear a costume you know wear this where you know all these things these people want to they just they're clowns and they don't understand it it's cringe and they don't understand it or they do understand it and they don't care I don't know. It's one of those things, okay? It's one of those things. So just, yeah, be aware. So, yes, there is another No Kings protest coming up here in just a bit as well. They will get into that on Saturday, March 28th. So, yeah, so if you've missed your first three No Kings protest, fear not, my friends. There is another one coming. And let me guess, let me guess. It's at Big Spring Park. Yeah? Is it that big Spring Park? Is that what we're going to do? We're going to do a big one in Big Spring Park and we're all going to be like, wow, this is amazing. You guys are doing it. You're really putting this thing together. You're finally speaking truth to power and all that nonsense, right? No. Okay. I'm just checking. Get out there. Wave your flags. But the dancing frogs thing doesn't work. The yelling is screaming and taking up for illegal immigrants. That doesn't work either. But they're going to keep going. We're going to keep going, too, because Mo Brooks will join us next. Keep it locked right here on WVNN. You can weigh in, you can voice your opinion, and you get your questions in for 10 with him right here on the ScoutPestcontrol.com. WVNN, hot take text line 866-494 WVN. This is the Dale Jackson Show.

225 FM, WVN, Dale Jackson here with you. Thank you very much for being here. Thank you so much for your time today. Thank you so much for putting up with us and we always appreciate you. Someone who's put up with a lot. Former Congressman Mo Brooks running for State House District 20 to represent my mom. Thank you very much for being here. Congressman Brooks joins us on the Alabama A&M $350 million Bulldog Hotline. Alabama A&M $350 million. That's the economic impact on Alabama. 238 million. That's the economic impact on North Alabama. Learn more at aamu.edu. Congressman Brooks, I'm going to ask you a series of questions here. Don't give me very long answers because there's a reason for them. Have you ever, well, you were a member of Congress. Did you ever not stand up and applaud when everyone else was standing up and applauding at the state of you? Did you ever sit on your hands? Not if everyone else was standing up. I always stood up. The reasons why you might not stand up would be political in nature based on a policy. That's how it used to be. If let's say Joe Biden or whoever, Barack Obama stood up and said, we're going to have universal health care and everyone's going to get health care. We're going to give it to you. We're going to pay for it by raising taxes. And that's how we're going to get it done. Democrats would stand up and applaud. Republicans would sit on their hands. Is that fair? If I strongly disagreed with the policy, I would not stand up and applaud something I strongly believe was bad for our country. Okay. So now it appears that we have gotten beyond the, I disagree with you, so therefore I'm not going to applaud. Now it is, I hate you as a person. I would never applaud. You son of a blank, I hate you so much. And that's... basically what this has all turned into. Why is it shifted so far? Because of the nastiness of some of the individuals who hold power in Washington, D.C., coupled with the stakes to America from the tug of war between two very different philosophies of government. Now, The hatred, I think, is pretty apparent. You had people like, what was her name, Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib, screaming at the president of the United States. He was talking about illegal immigration. And basically, he said if you support Americans over illegal immigrants, stand up. Yes, it's meant to create a moment. Are you surprised that they sat down during that moment? Not at all. That's in their nature. Okay, so now let's talk about the actual speech itself. It was higher energy than I expected. It was long, but he meandered, not in meander's wrong word, he weaved it through the speech a bunch of different appearances by individuals and things of this nature. On a scale of state unions, how would you write this? Do you think this was an effective policy speech?

12:30

Well, it was a circus, okay? It's a show, and that's unfortunate, but that's the way the State of the Union address has evolved over the last 50 years with the advent of television and media coverage and all that kind of stuff. And President Trump did well. Did he change anybody's minds? No, I don't think so. You've got two very strongly entrenched forces that are diametrically opposed to each other. And there's very little middle ground between, say, communism and freedom and liberty. Yeah, and I think you're right about that. And I think there seems to be a battle brewing over these things. And one side says, look, We need to take care of America. We need to take care of America. We need to improve the economy. And the other side goes, yeah, but what if we just let in as many people as possible, move further, further towards socialism, ignored everyone that has made it very clear where they stand on, I would say, gender, racial, and all these other issues and continue powering for it. But I think they're winning right now. I mean, clearly they lost the last election. Both bodies are controlled by Republicans right now. But, you know, you look at what's going down. Democrats are showing up for special elections. Democrats are appearing to have the momentum. Is that how you see it? Absolutely. Since November, we've had a lot of special elections for legislative or congressional positions around the country. And in every single one, 100%, the Democrats either flip the Republican seat in their favor or have held a Democrat seat that they already held. That does not bode well for the 2026 general election for Republicans at the national level. Yeah, I think that that is exactly right. Is the issue, now, I think it was a campaign ad in the making. And the last election cycle, during college football, we saw an ad that was run a lot. And that ad said basically this. Kamala Harris is for they, them, Donald Trump is for you. And I think that they are setting up. They set up, Donald Trump set up, or whoever his people who help it with this stuff, set up the idea that they wouldn't even stand up for Americans over illegal immigrants to run that ad over and over and over again. Now, the ICE thing, I think, has been optically bad, even though I love everything they're doing, but I think it's been optically bad. It is... Is that an effective way to turn the optics, making it clear that they wouldn't even stand for American citizens when asked?

15:13

Well, there are issues on the Republican side of the fence that the public strongly agrees with, and the Democrat, socialist, communist, whatever you want to call them, strongly disagree with. And to the extent the president is able to get the voters to focus on those issues in November, then that definitely helps our side of the fence do better in the general elections. If the Trump that showed up, let's accept that he's not going to, if the Trump that showed up last night showed up for the next six months, would Republicans have a better chance of winning the election in the midterms? Well, Donald Trump is the most effective politician at self-promotion that I've ever seen, and he has a gift for it. If he is able to persist with that, then probably the... But he's got character traits that are repugnant to a certain block of voters in the United States. And that's the deficit. If you had, say, a Ronald Reagan implementing the exact same policies of Donald Trump. I'm sorry, we're out of time hearing this, but you're exactly right. Barack Obama was popular, but his policies were bad. Trump is the opposite. Thank you for being here. We'll talk to you next week. It's the Dale Jackson Show.

16:38

It's live, it's local. It's the Dale Jackson Show. And it's only on News Talk 770 AM, 92 5 FM, WVNN. Depend on it. 770 a.m. 92.5 FM, WVNN. Dale Jackson here with you. We got a lot to get into and a lot to talk about. And yeah, Mo Brooks brings a lot of interesting things to the table with his perspective in D.C. And the reason why I had him on and I wanted to talk to him about what I talked about was. I want to make it clear that policy disagreements have always existed. Even the Joe Wilson, you lie thing, is a policy disagreement. It's a policy disagreement. It may not be appropriate, but it's a policy disagreement. Not standing up because of not wanting to put Americans first. Okay, you can say that's a policy. It's a bad one. If that's your policy, you're probably doing things wrong. You're probably doing things wrong, okay? Just keep that much in mind. We will continue throughout this morning. The Democrat fallout over not standing for American citizens is real. And the media is kind of hammering them on it. And it's kind of funny to see. Because I think what the media is trying to do is help them. And by saying, hey, you guys know you shouldn't have done that. Maybe you want to walk that back. And Democrats are unable to do so. We'll share some of that with you here just a little bit. We got to jump into the seven things. First of all, let me remind you about Matt Curtis and the Matt Curtis real estate team. Matt Curtis real estate.com. Talk to that guy today. He can help you move your home. You'll be very happy when he does, obviously, because you want your house sold. You want to sold quickly. You were sold for top dollar, Matt Curtis, real estate.com. Hey, did anyone go to the IKEA opening yesterday? Did anyone go to that? This seemed to be something that people were really excited about on my Facebook page. I don't even know what they sell at IKEA. Is it furniture? Is that it? Maybe I'm just like a guy, guy, I don't know. But I look at IKEA and I think this sounds, this looks miserable. I mean, that's what I think. I don't, I want to, what can someone tell me what the appeal of IKEA? Well, I can't believe about it here in a little bit. What is the appeal of IKEA? Is it super great deals? Is it stuff you can't normally see? Is it Swedish? Do they have, I think they have Swedish meatballs. Can someone tell me what? the appeal of this is and why it's so crazy and i get it new stores new retail good i'm not knocking that but why does this one seem to have such a cold following that precedes it even coming into the community okay can someone can someone help me out with that

20:17

Okay, good. Let me know. Let me know. 866-494 WVNN. That is, of course, the Coleman Furniture Market Free Speech phone lines. You can get it in there. Simply put, or you can pick up the phone as well for the ScoutPest Control.com. WVNN-Hat-Hat-Tax line. That, of course, is right there for you to 866-494 WVN or email me. You've got mail. Dale at WVNN.com. That is the downtown rescue mission.org email inbox. Lots to get in. Lots to discuss. Lots to talk about. So we'll start this off with the seven things because it's brought to you by two men in a truck. Two men in a truck. You know them. You love them. You always should. They do a great job for you. They'll help you make your next move so much easier. And I always tell people, you know, when I was moving. I had just purchased some stadium seating, and we purchased it. And I was like, how are we going to get this in? They went and picked it up for us. They brought it in. They got it in the room correctly, got it looking good. Cindy, and then, of course, being a woman, wanted to get rid of one of the rows of stadium seating because, you know, reasons, which I still don't understand to this day. So we put it up on, got it out of there, put it up on the internet, got it out of there. But the people who came to take, couldn't get it out, they didn't take it apart. I don't know what it looks like now. Probably not too good. But they got it out of there. I didn't want my walls dinged up. I didn't want any of that happening. Two-minute trucks didn't care of me. Two-men in a truck on Sville.com. Let them help you today. And now let me help you with the often-duplicated, never replicated the most critically acclaimed segment here. on the Dale Jackson Show, brought to you by Alabama's most trusted journalist. It's the seven things you should be talking about today. Now time for the seven things you'll be talking about today. Number seven. This is going to get the attention of the Alabama legislature. 1819 news has a story. About queer animals. Yes. The University of South Alabama is operating a queer animal research lab, and it sounds as crazy and unhinged as you would think that it is. Their goal is to, quote, further desigmatize queerness through communication of scientific findings of animals researchers regarding queerness in the animal kingdom. Am I paying for this? That is my only question. And if the answer is yes, the answer is no. Okay? Let me tell you that right now. One of their Facebook posts, let me tell you secret. Monogamy is actually queer in the animal kingdom. Okay. Number six. An Alabama bill in the legislature would allow the state to mandate minimum. police staffing levels and potentially intervene in the operations of two failing cities. Now, some people would disagree with the argument that they're failing cities. I would merely suggest that maybe you pay attention to what's actually going on. Montgomery is an interesting one, but Huntsville's on there as well.

23:40

The cities of Huntsville and Montgomery would be required to have a minimum number of police officers face possible state intervention under a bill approved Tuesday by an Alabama Senate committee. That's interesting. Because when I look at this and I see this, I don't think to myself that Huntsville's the issue. But it's the population size. We're going to talk about this more. Number five. All right. And there is also a new law in place that could very well be used to take down a bunch of gang members. And it looks like it could be working. The first conviction using a new anti-gang law has taken place. South Alabama man was the first individual in the state to be convicted under the law targeting criminal enterprises. That's according to Mobile County District Attorney Marcus Cobbs. He was convicted by a grand jury of trafficking marijuana to benefit a criminal enterprise. This law passed in 2023. It finally has its first arrest. And now they are going to continue to use this to try to dismantle criminal networks and take down organized crime. He could be facing a minimum. of 25 years in prison for a Class A felony. Okay, who's next? Number four. State health officials are warning that they fully expect to see a measles outbreak inside the state of Alabama. The reason, well, declining vaccination rates and an increase of cases nationwide. Now, one, you should be getting your kid vaccinated for the measles. Two, I understand why a lot of you aren't. And I talk to people, I talk to parents. I've talked to parents who don't want to vaccinate their kids, don't want to use the schedule that's out there. Nobody trusts the vaccination stuff anymore. Nobody. There's very, and I think that's wrongheaded. I think it is. The experimental COVID vaccine has done irreparable damage. two people's trust in a whole bunch of different institutions. But vaccinations are taking a hit because of that and the failure to acknowledge why people were concerned. Number three. Alabama Senate Pro Tem, President, President, Pro Tem, excuse me. Garland Gudger has declared the attempt to basically say, hey, we're not going to elect members of the Public Service Commission anymore. Dead. It's dead. said it came out of nowhere, moved too fast, and voters were very unhappy about it. Now, I don't know if he's just being honest here. He seems like he's giving away the game here. It was about stopping Soros-funded environmental extremist from getting on the Public Service Commission. because then they wouldn't be accountable to the whims of voters who were persuaded through campaign ads. They would then be at the whims of other elected officials like gubernatorial, excuse me, the governor, lieutenant governor, et cetera, stuff like that. Well, that is now dead. Anytime you try to drag away someone's a vote, they're going to get mad about it.

27:14

Number two. Governor-elect, national championship winning coach United States Senator Tommy Tuberville said the military action against Iran may be inevitable, as the U.S. has no choice if the attempts to negotiate a nuclear deal under Trump failed. urging preparation for potential conflict to protect national interests. And Tommy Tuberville is one saber-rattling guy. That guy, man, he does not hold back. He'll just tell you, hey, we're getting ready to go to war. Keep that under your hat, man. Keep that under your hat. But Tommy Tuberville says, we really have no choice. Quote, these idiots will use a nuclear weapon. This is a regime that is locked and loaded. We cannot allow them to have it and possibly use long-range weapons against countries where American citizens are present. So he is making it pretty directly clear. Now, time for the number one thing you'll be talking about today. You know, Democrats have a rough time at the State of the Union the other day, and now they are being mocked by both Katie Britt and... National Championship winning coach United States Senator Tommy Tuberville, the governor-elect there. And yeah, not a good look for them. Not a good look. This is a very sad thing for Democrats because they're just getting pumbled by this. They are just getting absolutely eviscerated on a regular basis. And Britt laid it out pretty well, she said. It was overwhelming that Democrats chose to sit down saying their duty was not to the American people, but yet to illegal aliens. President Trump was masterful. And unfortunately, Democrats sat still who they should have been standing up. And... Tommy Tuberville again said this. Democrats are upset. The President Trump hurt their feelings calling him crazy. Well, that's too bad. For years, Democrats have vilified the President of the United States and conservatives by calling everyone disagrees of Nazis, fascists, and threats to democracy. That sounds pretty crazy to me. Tommy Tuberville's right, by the way. He's exactly correct. He is exactly correct. This whole thing where Democrats are like, oh, you can't call us crazy. That's crossing. It's like, what are you talking about? The people who are now complaining, it was like Jake Tapper, sit on a network where people, even yesterday, are still suggesting because of a debunked report in a crazy accusation that Donald Trump is a child rapist. And then they want to get hurt feelings because Donald Trump called him crazy? I don't think so. I don't think so. That dog is not going to hunt, folks. And I don't think anyone should listen to that. And we're not going to. We'll continue to mock them. That's how you're supposed to act. Say a quick timeout. Some of you told me what the big deal with IKEA is. We'll look at that next. I don't get it. It's a furniture store. Are I supposed to want to go there?

30:24

Or is this something where I said my wife and don't see her for three hours? Okay, fine. I like IKEA. We'll be right back. Stay tuned. Get WBNs, Dale Jackson, seven things you should be talking about today. Right in your email box every morning. Go to yellowhammer news.com and sign up today. Scrolling with Haley, join Haley Caronea as she scrolls through the biggest headlines. If you haven't watched this show before, we do blind reactions. I have not seen these videos, so I am seeing them for the first time with all of you. We're going to implement the tinfoil hat time segments and all the stuff you know and love. And I'm going to finish the show and answer some of your questions. Someone asked me, what made you get into podcasting, and I was producing podcasts for other people. And I was like, I could do this for myself. And here I am. Scrolling with Haley, follow and listen on your favorite platform. All right, I asked the question and you guys gave me the answer. My question is, what the hell is up with IKEA? What the hell? What the hell is up with IKEA? Why are people so excited about this? I know Emily's going to tell me why.

31:41

I know you're going to have an answer for this. You're a woman. You have an answer for everything. I got it. That's right. I got it. Okay? Got it. Let's let the listeners weigh in here real quick first, okay? Scoutpass control.com. WVNNN Hot Take Text Line. That's Emily. Hold on one second. Dale, IKEA is minimalist European furniture in a box. Hooray. That's how I always thought. That's what I always thought it was. And every thing I've ever seen online about IKEA looks like a dystopian hellscape. And I just don't, I don't want that. I don't want that in my house. I don't. I want a big fluffy couch. I want things that are functional. I want recliners. That's what I want. You don't like some piece of wood-up. Stop talking to me. I do not want. Is there anywhere in Europe where women are not allowed to talk? Can we go there? Can we go to that place? Can we go there? Everything there looks uncomfortable. Everything. I do like Swedish meatballs. Apparently, they sell those there as well. But do I want to go to a furniture store to buy Swedish meatballs? What is this? What the hell is this? When I grew up, the Sears that I, it was Sears, I think it was Sears, had a restaurant in the Sears. And it was like a nice restaurant. My mom would take us there. I'm like, why are we here? There's a McDonald's right down the street. I don't know anything about IKEA, but I bet it has something to do with basic white bitches spending all of their husbands money. All right, Emily, now that you have been brought into the conversation, you may now participate in the conversation. What is the deal with IKEA?

33:22

There's not one around here. There is now. I mean, now there is. So that's exciting to have it here. So you don't have to travel a couple of hours to go. The meatballs, yes. It's a different design aesthetic. As I was trying to say earlier when I so rudely interrupted you. I got to set it up. I got to set the conversation up. When you were talking about your fluffy couches and stuff like that, it's a different design aesthetic. It's that Scandinavian design. Plus, it feels, you know, I mean, it is European, so you feel a little, you know, international when you go. I think that's really what it is. It's this, we don't have it, therefore it must be good. That is, that is the perspective that I seem to get on this. And I rebut with this. We don't have it, so it's probably not good. That's how I look at stuff like this. I've never said to myself, I wish I was more European. I've never thought that. I've never once thought that. So, yeah, I'm not a, I'm not a fan of this. But people are very excited about it. They are, they are taking, go do your thing. Go do whatever you want. But you said drive hours? Yeah, wasn't the closest one in Atlanta. Would you drive hours to go to a furniture store? I never have. Do people do that? Is there a man version of that? Will you drive hours to go to like this? I'll drive hours to go to a sporting event. Is there a man store that people will drive hours to go to? I can't even think of anything like that, even remotely like that, where I would say, I'm going to drive hours to go get this thing. I'm asking. So someone tell me, is there a male version of IKEA? Like people will drive hours to go see. I don't know if there is. I'm asking this question blind here. Let me know the answer to that question. I'll listen. Emily will tell us that we're wrong anyway. 866-494 WVN. That is the ScoutPass Control.com. WVNN. Hot-take text line by state senator, Sam Gavans, up next. Deal, Jackson.

35:35

I was just thinking to myself, I got to come up with something clever for a project I'm working on right now. And I was like, I'll just wait until I talk to Yaffe. And I'm like, wait, he's not clever. What, what, why am I going to bring him on? Oh, oh. He's like a sounding board, but you do the opposite of anything he says. There you go. There you go. That's how you get there. All right. Dale Jackson here with you, Emily, as well. We got Austin here, too. We're about to check in with Sam Gavann. He is my state senator. He is joining us and we'll talk with him about a couple of different things going on in the legislature. We'll get his thoughts on IKEA. You know, that's the person I was thinking. If I wanted to get thoughts on IKEA, a Swedish high-end furniture store. I don't know about high-end. Middle range? Sam Gavan's your guy. Sam Gavan is your guy. You know, let's just stop wasting time. Let's get Sam Gavann here on the Alabama A&M. $350 million bulldog hotline, $238 million. That's the economic impact on North Alabama. $350 million. That's economic impact on the state. Learn more at aamu.edu. Sam Gavan, how many hours have you driven to get to an IKEA? Zero. Okay. Sam Gavan, it got time for that? Here's another question for you. Has Sam Gavan ever stepped in at IKEA, Googled IKEA, went to the IKEA website, had a conversation with someone about IKEA or thought about IKEA? Well, you have to think about these days because there's a little different little news blasts that we get that just keep updating us about IKEA. And I'm like, why? And then, you know, I think maybe. I think my daughter when she was in Jakarta for a couple years teaching over there, she may have gone to get some stuff at IKEA and that was discussed, but I'm pretty sure I've never been in one. Okay, all right, fair enough. Let's move on. There's a bill in the Alabama legislature that I find very interesting, and I like how... The media has found an angle to this that they enjoy. And I don't know if you've seen this yet. But it's about the minimum staffing stuff for law enforcement. They have taken it. And I guess what they're trying to say is, oh, well, what about Huntsville? I know you guys are targeting Montgomery with this because they're understaffed, but this law would affect Huntsville as well. My question is, why does it affect Birmingham? Is there a population drop so far that it's below like some threshold on this? No, the class of cities is set in law. It does not change. There are people sometimes go, wait a minute, we're bigger than Birmingham. Why aren't we a class one? Now, we're class three, and until we do something to change the law, we will always be a class three. The problem with changing it is, number one, if we became a class one along with Birmingham, then we've got all these exceptions and inclusions or certain laws that apply to class ones that we may or may not want to be a part of. So it's kind of like unraveling a bowl of spaghetti.

38:47

with all the different legislative references to unwind that. Wait, well, let me ask a question this. Hold on a second. Hold on a second. Let me just ask this. Huntsville responded to the story. And they're like, we already meet this. Leave us alone. That was like their response to it. It was like, shut up and leave us alone. Stop it. Stop bothering us. So let me just ask it this way. I'm not looking for a really complicated answer. Why is Birmingham not being targeted in this as well? They've got a crime problem too. Why are they not being targeted? Because the Jefferson County delegation is not, or no one in the Jefferson County delegation is pushing in. And I don't think, you know, it's. It's on a per capita basis. I don't think it's quite as pronounced as the Montgomery situation. I think, you know, I think the long term, I think the best solutions I've heard is that we need to come up with a different classification like 1A or something like that that will distinguish Huntsville so we can kind of get a divorce from Montgomery in a way in terms of least, you know, being paired with them on all this local, but what amounts to local legislation in a way. So you said no one in the Jefferson County delegation. Are there people in the Madison delegation that are just like fine, whatever? Because this doesn't seem like it's going to have much of an impact. I've been talking to some of the House members, and they have concerns about it. While we meet it today, you know, we could face a rash of retirement. I mean, I've been in conversations with the police chief, both had several with him. And there's a, you know, concern that we could get a bunch of transfers or something like that and all of a sudden be caught up in it. Now, that said, we'd have like five years to get back in grace. Sure. But I've got a, I'm working on something that when it hits the floor, and I'm not sure I haven't looked at the calendar for today, but that will, I think, take care of Huntsville. Okay, fair enough. Well, I'll look forward to reading about that. Let's move back to the legislature and talk about another thing going on. The Public Service Commission stuff got a lot of attention. I talked to lawmakers. They're like, we're getting a lot of talk about this. People don't like it. It's like, yeah, no kidding. They don't like it when you take their vote away. And that's how they feel on this kind of stuff. Some of the reporting is saying, oh, no, you've got to understand. There's a... This is about keeping the radical Soros environmentalist off the Public Service Commission. Maybe that's true. But, you know, there's a guy named Jim Ziegler, His Excellency, the counter of Watts that wants to get onto this board. Is this... Is this targeting him, too? I realize he's going to get on there. But he's sort of an outlier as well. He's a he's the watchman. He's a rabble rouser. One of the reasons I dislike him is I see a lot of myself in him, which terrifies me. So is this targeting guys like him? I know, I know. But is there, is this targeting guys like him as well? I think you're going to.

42:00

Find out more in the days that come about some of the concerns that are out there in terms of where this money's coming from. And it's not just Soros, I would say, more sinister than that. And to my knowledge... What does that mean? What does that mean? That sounds terrifying. There's things more... Hey, Soros is eventually going to die. The group I'm talking about ain't going to die. So I think that we've got some, we're going to need to work on some stuff. This answer, which was rushed. I mean, my knee-jerk reaction was consistent with what, I mean, I knew what my constituents were going to say, and it's exactly what they told me. We don't want to lose our right to vote. Even if we don't know who the heck we're voting for, we don't want to lose our right to vote. And I heard it loud and clear, and I shared with my caucus. I don't talk about what other people say, but, you know, other senators were hearing from their constituents, and it wasn't going to get through the Senate. And so, you know, it just, you know, there was a lot of pressure out there and this and that. But, you know, Garland finally just, you know, he wasn't going to put his. team up for that kind of kind of vote because it's just, you know, not a great situation. But in any event, this idea is done. I'm percolating some other ideas about what we can do to kind of... get a better grip on this and we'll be you know we'll be discussing ideas as we go forward with this session and we don't have a lot of time left in the session i think we're already halfway i'm not keeping up with the days real real well right now but we're we're over halfway through So we're going to have to, you know, focus on it and see what we can do to better protect our elections. What do you think, and I know you probably didn't watch the state union, but let me ask you this, because I know you're very busy down there, you know, you've got a bunch of stuff going on in the legislature. Can you, Donald Trump mentioned something, and this is kind of relevant to this conversation, allowing data centers to basically make their own power plans. And, you know, we kind of heard some of this PSC stuff. One of the, one of the group of bills had something referencing that. I like this idea. Letting on Elon Musk build a nuke plant. Whatever. I mean, I mean, I know that sounds ridiculous. But what is the, is there any parallel between what Trump's discussing and this particular, this idea with the Public Service Commission and them having to deal with their energy issues on these data plans? I don't know exactly what's in the bills because I've only read bits and pieces of them. But I think that the concept is a good one because, I mean, they already talk about redundancy because I'm just from my dirt lawyer hat.

45:06

You know, I'm having some conversations with some data centers that are looking to, you know, come into our community, and they would have to have backup power. And so they probably would end up having a, you know, especially they can get near a natural gas line. And, you know, they'd have their own little gas plant there because they have to always be going. and they have to have redundant power. So, you know, there's also issues, and I know folks that will grumble about the solar, but the thing about solar is that you can put it in quickly. I think it's important for our community that Trump is talking about this because one of the things has been holding us back is TVA has not kept, you know, they've stripped out some of their coal facilities and that were very reliable and it didn't matter whether it got, you know, whether the wind was blowing or whether the sun would shine or anything like that. And you couldn't get too cold to shut them down. But they backtracked on that a little bit. Now they've kind of paused on that. That's good, right? It is good, but, you know, we're getting about all out of hydro we can. We can, you know, change some turbines out. They're a little more efficient and get a squeeze a little bit more out of hydro, but that's just, you know, nibbling around the edges. You know, we're going to have to have new gas-fired plants because, as Mayor Battle says, you know, nuclear is always 10 years away. I mean, every time it comes up, well, 10 years away. That's true. I mean, I've been through a couple of those 10-year cycles. We still don't have nuclear. So, you know, what can we do? That's one of this gas lines that Athens and Scottsboro and Huntsville are working on is so critical to get that extra gas in there because we don't have enough natural gas for our, you know, to continue to grow industry. But we're also going to need it for some other power generation in our community. So it really is all of the above approach. But, you know, we're this. agenda of the world is, you know, we're already supposed to be underwater right now. I know, I know. We've been hearing this up a year. When I was a kid, we were going to have an ice age. I mean, it's always something. Hey, real quick here, but I agree with you. I agree with everything you're saying there. This is all very concerning, and I want to see some of the solutions here and what this is going to look like is the power generation is going to be an issue. What up? Any talk, I know this is a federal issue, a TVA issue. Have you heard anything about the nuke plant down 72 that was mothballed? They basically now they're just towers. I get that they've kind of stripped it clean, but that was supposed to be a nuke facility. It never came online. Any talk of maybe firing that bad boy back up, at least moving to that direction since it's there? Well, particularly from folks in Jackson County that, you know, want the economic development that comes out of it, but I just haven't seen any action on it. I mean, it does get talked about. I would love to see more of that. Last thing, have you heard about the queer animals at the University of South Alabama? Not until I caught a bit of your show earlier. So, yeah, your tax dollars are being used for that.

48:13

Well, enjoy looking into that because I have a feeling that that's going to be discussed here relatively soon in the legislature as soon as they find out that they're looking, that your tax dollars are going to the querying of animals or whatever the hell they're doing down there. So maybe we'll talk to you about that next week. Thank you very much. Sam Gavan, appreciate him being here. Always a great guest who brings a lot of good information to the table. Thank you so much to Sam Cavan for joining us here on the Alabama A&M. $350 million bulldog hotline. He's my state senator. He's very good at what he does. We appreciate him being here. So thank you very much. Hey, get your questions in for 10 with him. Dale Strong coming up next. Our congressman is next right here on WVN. This is The Dale Jackson Show. Missing what I was talking about with the gay animals, I strongly suggest you head on over to yellowhammer news.com in just a little bit, and you will see exactly what I'm talking about. South Alabama, University of South Alabama has a queer animal research lab, and it is as cringy as you can imagine. They have a TikTok account, and their, their TikTok account basically says the following, please defund us. Please, please defund us. Please? Okay, good. All right. Thank you very much. Coming up next, right here on the Alabama A&M $350 Bulldog Hotline. Dale Strong, our congressman, he joins us here. Learn more about Alabama A&M at AAMU. Let's bring Congressman Strong on the line with us. Congressman Strong, a quick question for you before we get started. Did you stand up when Donald Trump asked, hey, if you're for American citizens over illegals, would you stand up? Because, you know, some people didn't. Did you stand up? You know where I'm at on it, standing up for America, and I couldn't believe it. 72 Democrats boycotted, and the rest of them made fools of theirself. That's amazing. That is absolutely amazing that they would do that. When they didn't stand, I was just kind of shocked because in their mind, I'll be honest, this is what I'm envisioning. I'm envisioning them going, okay, Donald Trump's trying to tell us to do something and I'm not going to do it. But he also said that I need, if I don't stand, I'm for illegal, so maybe I need to stand. Were they like, In, out, like, do I get up? Do I, like, do I, do I, do I stand? Were they, were they in between? Were they confused? Or were they just like, no, we're sitting down?

50:48

They didn't have Nancy Pelosi to tell them what to do, so they were really confused at this one. But, Dale, I've got to tell you, one of the media asked me, they said, what are your thoughts on 72 Democrats boycotting tonight's State of the Union? Why do you think they're not coming? I said, I'm not sure it might be because crime rates are the lowest in history. Gas prices are at a five-year low. Inflation was at 9% under Biden, and is 2.5 under Trump. I said, just go down the list. I said, the southern border is closed, and fentanyl's has been cut by 54%. I said, I'd imagine they're upset that America's back. Yeah. They didn't print it. I was going to say, I didn't see that anywhere, so I'm not surprised. Oh, no. Yeah, they did not print that. This girl gasped when I said that. I just laughed my head off. But whenever I walked out, you won't believe this. I walked out the cloak room, and I was, you know, just fixed to leave because it was pretty late. And you'd think I'm kidding. The president walked out, and he shook my hand, and he said, what's happening, Space Command. And I was like, what a great night. And he said, what did you think? I said, you mop the floor with him. And he said, that's why I like you. He said, everybody else to say, you did a good job. You did a great job. He said, I mock the floor with him. I'm telling you it was a great night. Well, who is your guest at the State of the Union this time? I gave my ticket to Lee Lipton. He's soon to be the ambassador of the Philippines. He was actually in town, and I tried to get my wife to go, but she said, hey, give it to somebody else. But Lee Lipton is soon to go before the Senate for confirmation to be the ambassador of the Philippines. And I'm just telling you right now, he was elated. I got to take him to the... speakers, reception, and just had a great time. But Lee Lipton, a great American, and have known him for years, and will soon be the ambassador of the Philippines. Very interesting. All I heard there was not Yaffy. As long as you never take Yaffy to the State of the Union, we're good. That's the only thing I just do not ever invite Yaffy, okay? Well, I'll tell you, hey, what else? Hey, what about whenever they had, you know, these different folks stand up? I mean, you look at the U.S. soldiers that, what about the pilot that went into Venezuela that took what, they said, three shots under his Chinook helicopter and finished the mission. They were trying to get him to abort, I guess, and he took it on in there. And for him to stand up, I was told he came from the hospital. for that that night. I just thought it was a great night. 99-year-old World War II veteran there. I'm telling you, they had a reception for him, and they called, and they said, would you come? I said, I'm leaving my office now. I said, I'll be there in five minutes. He was absolutely just elated, and he said, you won't believe this. He said, I trained years ago, and he said, I can't remember what year, but he said, I trained in Huntsville, Alabama.

53:56

That's pretty touching. That's very cool. It's pretty cool. I will also note that you just blew right by my insult to Jaffe and just went right into politician talk. And I appreciate that. I appreciate that. So those guys, they didn't stand at times. Last year, I think it wasn't a state of the union, but it was a joint address. They didn't stand for the kid with cancer. This year, did they? Did they stand for the hockey team? I heard they did, that they got up for the hockey team. They did stand for the hockey team. Is that correct? They stood for the hockey team, but didn't stand numerous times before that. But I will say that John Fetterman did. John Fetterman was right on the front row, and I'm just telling you, he marches by the beat of his own drum. And I'm just telling you, we need to get John Fetterman to come be a Republican, because I'm telling you, he's fed up with what the Democratic Party is trying to do to America, and he's sick of these illegal aliens, just like the Republican Party is. Well, I mean, Katie Britt is best friend, so maybe you can get in there and work him from the other side and maybe get that going. But I think you're probably on to something that he is. Look, he has very much the potential. If the Democrats take back the Senate to be the cinema, the voice of reason where they try the Joe Manchin or whatever, where they try to do a bunch of stuff and he's like, yeah, I'm not doing that. And hopefully that might be the saving grace there. Donald Trump spoke about illegal immigrants. He talked about the economy. Let's talk about the next election. Republicans are going to be in trouble. Let's just be real about it. It's a midterm. It's all that. The economy is going to be the issue. And you laid out a bunch of economic stuff earlier. He talked about eggs and gas prices, mortgage rates being down, all this stuff. He talked about all that stuff. Is that cutting through or is stuff like the Epstein stuff run to the day? You got about 60 seconds. We've still got a ways to go, Dale. The big thing that we've got to do is the decisions that's been made in the last 12 months are just now fixing to hit the back pockets of the American people. So second quarter, we're fixed to roll. You look at it. Interest rates are coming down. That's where America's fixed to build, that next generation is fixed to be able to realize their dream. Let's get back the residential home construction. so people can own their own home. You think about it, wood prices back to pre-COVID. You look at wallboard prices pre-COVID. We're fixed to see a boom here. I think second quarters can be big. You look at Space Command, Golden Dome coming to our area. Our economy is absolutely thriving. And it's because of what Donald Trump has done, bringing business back to America. Look at Eli Lilly, a $6 billion investment here in North Alabama. We're fixed to see some of our finest hours, and it's because of Republican leadership. Now let's pay this debt down and keep the tariff rolling. America will be better. There we go. Congressman Dale Strong, thank you very much. Very busy man. No time for my Tom Fullery. Real answers, and we appreciate him being here. This is The Dale Jackson Show.

Dale Jackson here with you, a suicide bomber in Yaffy's life slipping behind enemy lines and making sure that Yaffy's life is worse every single day. Yeah, I don't know if you were listening earlier, but me and Dale Strong had a very lengthy conversation about you. It's going to be my hate. And I think I have cemented the idea that you will never get an invite to the State of the Union. I've made it happen that you will never get an invite to the State of the Union. What would you do if I ended up going the next like four years? I would fire you. Different people. That is what I will do. That is what I will do. The only way that it would be good if Yaffe went to the State of the Union is if I could bet on it on a Calci. And I could bet whether Yaffi would be there or not. And just so you know, Emily was supposed to pick a thing yesterday and she didn't. Because I couldn't understand it because I'm a simple woman with a tiny little brain. Yes. But I did pick. during the Oklahoma City and Detroit Pistons basketball game, would they say the words Michael Jim Jordan or say the words Jim Jordan? And it hit. It did. It hit. Wow. And it hit for 50 wins, 185. So we're back. We're back on track. It's all ironic because Jim Jordan had a gambling problem, too. Was that ever confirmed? Yeah. Oh, yeah. Yeah. But by the way, you define a gambling problem very different when you are still 20 years after you played making $50 million a year. Yeah, that's a good point. That's a good point. So you, look. I think it would be statistically impossible for Michael Jim Jordan to gamble his money away. Like, it's impossible. Like, if he went, you ever seen Brewster's Millions? Anyone see Bruce's? No. God, you guys suck at movies. Oh, wait, is that the one where he has to try? Yes. Yeah, I see that. He has to spend all the money. They couldn't make this year or in this time. Oh, they could. There's a lot of reasons why they could make it. Yes. Richard Brewerpry was in a lot of movies. How about the toy?

1:00:34

You can have anything you want from this store. I'll take that black man. Yeah, I don't think that's getting made either. I don't think that's getting made either. But either way, Michael Jim Jordan would be basically in a Brewster's Millions situation. You need to spend all this money and then he'd turn around and be like, why do I have more? What's going on? You know, that sort of thing. But who was it that showed their boobs in that movie? Who was? I think it's just three days in a row. We've mentioned the word boobes. You put that on Kelsey. Who was it that went topless and Brewster's Millions? There's millions. Topless. Make sure, yeah, if he never gets to the State of the Union. There we go. All right. These are the things I'm working on today. I don't know. I will find the Brewster's Millions' boobs in just a little bit. But as of right now, we've got more important things to get into. It's brought to you by Scout Pass Control. It's called... Hate at 8. I'm as bad as hell, and I'm not gonna take this anymore. What's got you steamed? What's got you mad? Tell us now. It's time for hate at 8. Now, if any of you got anything else to say, no. You know, I think I was being racist. Instead, I was thinking about, I was thinking about, what is that movie called with, I can't remember what, trading places, trading places. Yeah. Yeah. Jamie Lee Curtis's boobs were in that movie. That's what I was thinking about for some reason. Brewster's Millions, a completely different movie from 1945, was apparently banned in Memphis because it promoted, quote, too much social equality and racial mixture. I didn't know that that name was a throwback to that, but okay, there we go. Well, there we go. You're learning a lot here today, folks. I'm promising you. And for some reason, keep in mind, my movie knowledge, apparently, based on the last couple of days, is basically... trapped from 1983 to 1989. You get nothing else. If something happened outside of that realm in movies, I have no idea. But that era, I have a grasp on it. Even that's tenuous. There we go. All right. Let's go first to Austin. Austin, he is here. It is Scout Pest Control. They bring us hate at 8. Now is the place. Scout Pest Control. Let's talk about them. Bugs.

1:03:16

rats, mosquitoes, termites, all sorts of stuff. If they're in your house, Scout Pest Control will get them out. You want to make sure the Scout Pest Control is coming regularly. It's a great price. They're going to take great care of you, great service, better than the other guys in every imaginable way. Scout Pest Control.com. Talk to those guys today. When you do, make sure you tell them Dale Jackson sent you. All right, Austin, what do you hate on? On the topic of Scouts Pest Control, I'm hitting on ladybugs. We have an infestation in our house. I don't know if you guys have ever experienced. They could be those little Japanese beetles that you think are ladybugs. That's what my wife keeps saying. I'm convinced they're ladybugs, but she thinks that the Japanese people. Do you see little piles of sawdust all over the place? I don't think so. I see their corpses all over the place. Okay, that's fine. They just get in and die. But yeah, we have tons of them just digging into our house and just dying. Can I tell you how you get rid of him? How do you do that? Look, go up to one that's alive and then pick up one that's dead and then eat it and look at its face and say, tell the others. That's how you take it. Okay, making an example. I get that. Yeah, tell the others. Is that not right? Is that not? No, that's not right. Are you trying to tell me the guy from Scout Peskis and go around to the houses and eat bugs and look at the other bugs facing? You're next. Tell the others. Tell the others. All right. Thank you, Austin. Thank you so much. All right. Emily, what are you hating on? I'm hating on this cell machine that's in Margot's bedroom. We have... So we've used that since she was a baby, and she's got, listen, that's enough of you. Okay, thank you. But that's the sound that it's supposed to make when we lay her down for bed or whatever, you know, whatever. But there's multiple. sound settings on that that we don't ever really cycle through and I think I must have knocked it or touched it or something yesterday when I was finished. Oh no, you got a babbling brook or some creek or something? No, no, I don't know what happened. I don't know how it happened. I don't know how it's time to do this because it doesn't do this. Oh, you just got your happy mouth breathing. That's the one. I woke up thinking there were birds in my house because it was like pleasant spring meadow setting with the like the chirping birds. It was like the opening of Cinderella, like little birds, little tweet tweets, little rush of wind through the trees. Coming from that sound machine and I've never programmed it to do that, but that's the way I woke up and I legit thought that there was a bird in the house. Did she sleep through the birds? I was about to say, did it work? No, she and I fell asleep on the couch last night watching Encanto, so we had a slumber party. Oh, my God. So we weren't, we weren't, she was not in her bedroom. Um,

1:05:59

So we were both asleep in the living room. On a school night. Very bad parenting. I'm hitting on bad parenting. The best parent on this show. I'm just kidding. We all know it's true. Yeah, I know. How are these going with Grant? He is fantastic. Last night, he really screwed me over, so I appreciate that. He really got me. All right. Did he make a bad bet? Actually, I should. I'm really worried about gambling and him. I'll be completely honest with that. We watch sports all the time. And there's so much gambling commercial. They're just like, why? Get this out of my kid's face. What are you doing? All right. Sorry, Abby. What are you hating on? I'm hating on Candace Owens because she's apparently crazy. I just can't. It makes me sad that she can really grift off this. I make a lot of money off of this. There's no way to stop it, is there? No. Her whole thing, like the bride, what is it, the bride of Charlie? That's what she's doing now. She is such a vile piece of garbage. I hate to be this guy, but I'm going to. I was right all along. I was right all along. She was so transparent about what a piece of crap she was. And everyone was like, but she's conservative. And black. And that was it. That was her appeal. 100% of her appeal. That was it. The problem was she was a grifter. Okay? That was the problem. And everyone wanted to look past it because of the reasons I just said. And because they did that, that's how you let the bad guys in the house. Well, people are, I've seen some people say she's the rights DEI hire. Yes, that's a very good way of putting it. I agree with that. Yes, that is exactly right. Yeah, yeah, there's nothing wrong with that description of what she is. They don't, they did not care about merit. They did not care about the quality of her character. They did not care about her competency. They didn't care about anything. They cared that they would be able to have a black face. And when Democrats criticize black Republicans. Just like when all DEI hires, it makes all suspect. I mean, that's how it works. If anything, she is the ultimate DEI example that people should use. Now, most people wouldn't talk the way I just talked. I'll just be honest. I think the way I was just talking is completely politically unacceptable. So you cannot talk that way. Am I right about that, Yavi? Yeah, I wouldn't have said it that way. That makes feel better. How would you have said it, Yavie? Take my words in Yavafi. I don't want to do that. I mean, the rights, DEI higher, I think is the way to say it. Okay, all right. Well, I'm sorry for being so explicit. Like the 1984 hit movie, Brewster's Millions. I'm just kidding. That was incorrect. Incorrect. All right, Dale, what are you hating on? I'm hating on Grant. I hate on him. That kid driving me crazy. Two things last night. Go get your glove. That was number one, which turned into a nightmare scenario. The kid was just like, I don't know where it is. I said, well, go look. I don't know what, I don't know where it is. He said, go look. And I force him to go downstairs and look at my car and see if he could find it. He left my lights on. Therefore, when I got my car this morning.

My battery was dead. So it was not very happy about that. But back to the night before, he's got baseball coming up here in a little bit. He's got a tryout coming. And I want him to work on ground balls and the best way for him to do that at 8 o'clock at night. is we have that little Fourier in the front of our house. You guys have been to my house. And we have this big area where he and I play wall ball inside the house. We throw a bouncy ball against the wall and we peg each other with it and stuff like that. And I was like, I want you to throw the ball against the wall, let it roll back to you, field the ball, pick it up, throw it again, bumo. I said, I don't want you to gun it at the door. I don't want you to do any of this stuff. I just want you to feel the ball over and over again. He says, okay, I walk away and I hear, wham! Wham! Wham! And he's just like firing the ball at the wall. We had a 10-minute conversation multiple times about don't fire the ball at the wall. Okay? And it's not because I'm worried about damage to the door. And we play on that door all the time. He's a kid. It is what it is. We go look at our house. If you walk in our house, our blinds are destroyed. Like on the side of our front door, there's these blinds that go down on each side. They're wrecked. I mean, it's looking rough. I'm not worried about that. But it wasn't giving me the desired output. 10 minutes. of us having a conversation. And multiple times, like, do you understand? Yes. And I turn around and what do I hear? Wham! Wham! Wham! And I'm like, are you not listening to me? Are you not listening? What is wrong with these kids? No attention span. No ability to follow instructions. It's almost like he's a seven-year-old and I sound like a crazy person. I think that's probably the problem here. But, man, it is so frustrating to know. That this kid understands every word I'm saying. And every other person in his life tells me, he's so nice. He's so sweet. He's so helpful. He does everything that's asked of him. And then I ask him to do like simple things and he's like, yeah, I'm not doing that. They're so good for everybody but you. It's unbelievable. That's what I hear from her school is she's, oh, she's so great. I told you guys this before. I go in there and they're like, he's so nice and wonderful. And it's gotten to the point where Cindy knows that I'm a joke repeater. Like I, that's what I am. Especially if I have like a new audience, I'll give like the same joke. And they'll come in and like, oh, he's so nice and wonderful. And I'm like Grant. Like, yeah, like Grant Jackson. And they're like, yeah, like, pull a picture of my phone. This guy. This one, this one right here. And they're like, yeah, he's great. And I'm like, no, he sucks, man. What are you talking about? Anyway. Anyway, I grounded him and took away his iPad. That's the end of the story. No, I didn't do any of that. He had already lost that a week ago. We'll be back. I'm Dale Jackson. It's WVNN. Dale Jackson.

1:12:16

I should not do what I'm about to do. Oh, boy. It's basically, it's basically that that should be a liar for this show. I should not do what I am about to do. Okay, I should not do it. We were having a discussion off the air a second ago. And the discussion went a little something like this. I'm not going to tell you who said this, but I'm just going to tell you this. I think you can figure it out. We were having a discussion about like people and their personalities and how they develop. And somebody was trying to convince somebody else that like the reason why some people have like really great personalities is because God has, for lack of a better term, Screwed them over in other areas. I'm one of those people. I have a great personality. I know people don't believe this. When people who work with me don't really work with me, meaning like they kind of work with me, like they know I exist in the workplace, there's this perception that I'm not a nice person, which is completely untrue. And anyone that's working with me for any length of time who is not a complete moron understands that. Because I have a great personality and I'm a caring person. You know why? Because I'm an ugly troll-like person. Okay? I'm both fat and ugly and bald. I'm essentially, to describe myself in an accurate way, I am, do you know the anti-Semitic character from the 1930s in Germany? The black and white character who's hunched over and his hands are together and he's clasping his hands and he's, and to say like this is like the Jew. Do you know that? You know that character? As I age. As, yes, yes. It's like it's a smear. It's an anti-Semitic smear. I am essentially turning into that. But if you, I, like, physically, I, I, I see myself turning in. I, I need to, I'm never going to lose weight again because then I think I, I will be that. Okay? Like, I think, like, I look like I'm turning. You'll be too, who? Yes. Like, I feel like I'm turning into that thing. And there are people that. get good personalities because they have obstacles in life. And then there are people who don't develop personalities because they don't have obstacles in life. Why is that controversial to say? Why is that controversial? Because you didn't say it like that. That's not how you laid it out. But the thing is, is the way... I said it. You're saying I said it. I'm just saying someone. Listen, someone didn't lay it out like that. Someone said it in a bit more of a harsh way. However, the logic that someone had behind it did make sense that made someone have to say, gosh, I hate the way you presented this, but I can't disagree with you. And that's troubling.

1:15:23

Okay, so sorry. Here's that what. Fat people are nicer because they have to be. That was the gist. That was the gist of the conversation. Yavi, is that right? Yep. Okay. This is why I'm so mean, right? Yeah. Why I have a terrible personality. Because that's why you have a terrible personality because you're not fat. Okay. All right. All right. Fair enough. Yeah. How excited is your wife about IKEA? Has she ever said I'm excited about IKEA or take me to IKEA or any of that stuff? No, no. I can't, I can't think it. I mean, I'm sure she'd want to go, but no, not super excited. I do not understand it. So I asked this question earlier, is there a guy's version of IKEA? Is there a man's version? Like something that you'll drive hours for? Is there something you'll drive hours for, yeah? A store, like a store. Is there a store you will drive hours for it? I was going to say it used to be Buckees. You would drive hours to go to Buckees. Oh, like you'd make a special trip just to go. But now it's like we're spoiled because it's close by. Wait, hold on. You would take a special trip just to go to Buckees. Sure. Is your time worth nothing? I don't even understand. I don't even understand. I can't understand the idea. There's one near me, and it would take me 20 minutes to get there. And I'm thinking to myself, what else could I do with that 40 minutes that's going to take me to go back and forth? What else could I do with that time? Is your time worth nothing? That is really distressing. We'll be back. Hold on. We're going to come back and discuss it. You're listening to the Dale Jackson Show. Hey, I'm Chris Van Fleet. Go behind the scenes and beyond the headlines with the biggest names in pro wrestling and beyond. Mr. Sandman. All I ever wanted to be was a pro wrestler. So I got to live my life and make people really happy. The heartbreak kid himself, Sean Michaels. Do you think there's anybody better than you were? I think I was great at what I did. And I think other people were great at what they did as well. Greatness is more of mindset, I think, than anything else. Mindset, motivation, insight with Chris Van Fleet. Follow and listen on your favorite platform. platform. Yes. People are just hammering away on yaffee. This is what I'm looking for here, guys. You guys get it. You guys understand it. I am Dale Jackson. This is WVNN. You guys have understood the assignment. I asked a question of what store. What is the what is the man's version of IKEA? And again, remember the context of this. Okay. Women will drive long distances to go places. Again, that wasn't the question. Women will drive long distances to go places. Will men do the same? It is my assertion that they will not. And there are no real stores I can think of that we hear about people driving long distance. And yeah, he tells me, oh, Buckees. Buckies is one of those places. And I look at that and I go, okay, I mean, okay, I mean, if you're time. worth nothing i guess you can go to a gas station and get so that you could have got right down the street from your house but all right i mean that's fine and i will just mention this as well not to beat up on buckies here real quick but i'm going to um their slushies aren't that good i've said it i made it clear yep yep that's it i'm bringing i'm bringing the hard takes today

1:18:50

that their slushies aren't that good. I don't know what the reasoning is. I don't know what they've done, but there's syrup on their cola slushies, which may be answering my own question here on what that is. But, yeah, their cola slushies, not so great. Yeah, I have your thoughts on the slushies and buggies. Yeah, they're no slurpees, but they're good. I mean, it's just an icy. That's all the days. Yeah, but the sauce is different, the sauce. The sauce, the service. Yours has got to be a Coca-Cola one, right? It can't be Pepsi or another flavor. I will occasionally drink a Dr. Pepper. Gotcha. Yeah, they don't have that. I will occasionally get a Dr. Pepper there. And I guess it's just a branding thing. And then they're not allowed to use the actual syrup from the thing. But yeah, that would be my criticism. And basically that's how I decide whether or not I will stop at a gas station is what kind of slushies. I remember when I first went to Buckees with you, Dale, and you're like, they need pizza. There's no pizza here. Yep. That's his complaint. It's exactly right, though. It's exactly right. That is one thing they are lacking, and they could make a bunch of money with it. I bet you there's a reason for it. I bet you there's a reason. I bet you there's a reason. And by the way, to point out how stupid I am, listen to this. It takes me an hour to get to vans in Coleman. Worth the trip, though. Also, WVNN has said that if you're in listening distance, it's worth the drive to Colman Furniture Market. Yes, it is worth the drive to Coleman Furniture Market. No question about it. You've got me. Okay. You guys have got me. That is correct. That is correct. I've literally taken special trips there to buy most of the furniture in my house. Correct. And that is exactly right. But again, this is what I'm talking about. Who's buying furniture? Who's buying furniture in your house? The menfolk? Is that what you're trying to get at? Do you think the men folk buy furniture? Seriously? Do you think that's who's buying? I mean, Yaffy just said, Yaffy just said you bought furniture? Yaffi is merely a driver in that scenario. Who's picking out the furniture in your house? Oh, the ladies. Yes, that's exactly right. Yaffy. Husband has always said he doesn't care as long as he has a place to sit in a roof over his head. I tell my wife, you've heard me say this a thousand times. If there's like something like a furniture purchase, I say, Here you may you may spend X amount of dollars under the assumption that you never speak to me about this again. Like that is that is that those are our rules. Can I get it? Stop talking about couches. Going by couch. Here's your budget. Never speak to me about this again. They would be happy if there was just patio furniture in his house. No, I, I, hey, no, hold on. You're wrong. Wrong. This is where Yaffy, you don't understand. Not only am I the best father on this show, I'm also the best spouse on this show. I unconditionally trust my wife's judgment. She has very good judgment.

1:21:51

and I don't need to worry about what she's going to do because I know she's going to do the right thing. Even if I don't think it is at the right time, she will get it right. So that is, that is, okay. So I will say, and by the way, she's involved in the conversation on the budget too. I'm not just like, you may have $2,000. I'll go away. But it kind of sounds like that, yeah, a little bit. IKEA is for college students. Karen Bass is for grown-ups. I didn't know there was a feud between these two furniture stores I'll never go to. All right. Amazing. Men will drive hours to go to Kabila's sporting goods store. I love my little British robot guy. Kabilis. Kabilis. Also, Coleman. Which, by the way, never mind. Yeah. I was going to realize what he said, Cabellas. I was going to say something. I was going to say something about Goldman, but in the past, I guarantee, never mind. I'm not, I'm going to, I'll keep my job. Base pro shops in Nashville until we got our Cabela's in Huntsville. Cabellas. Cabellas. Cabellas. Cabilers are base pro shop. I like. It's so funny. That's so funny. Do they not have bass in England? Are there bass in England? Emily, look that up. You're in England. I'm on it. Is there bass? Are there bass in England? All right. Summit Racing Store in Atlanta. I've heard that before. I've heard that one. Some told me they drove, went to Atlanta to go to varsity. The varsity. I guess Trump was at the varsity not too long ago. The hot dog place doing a college football podcast here recently. So he was there doing that. Men will drive hours to go to Kabila's sporting goods store. Okay, Kabilis. Go ahead, Emily. European sea bass. Oh. That's the kind of bass they have, obviously not the freshwater, largemouth bass found in the United States. Do they call it base or bass? That I have not figured out yet. Okay. Because it's spelled sea bass, but I really think it's just your computer program. Beat his ass, sea base. That's how it goes, right? Good Lord. It was just established that Yafi has no personality, i.e. lame. So, of course, he has lots of free time to make special trips to Bucci's. If he's really feeling wild on said trip, he may even buy a single hard cider to drink when he gets home. That person... I will just say this. One, screwed up all the names. Two, completely nailed Yaffi's personality. Like, just completely... That is a listener. That is what in the business we call a P1. Okay, that is what that is the business. That is a P1. No question about it. And some people say, yeah, he's a P-something, but that is not what they're talking about. All right, here we go. Here's another one for you. This is wrong, though.

1:24:50

Atlanta Falcons game. He can't even say Falcons? What is wrong with you, dude? Do they have Falcons in England? What's going on here? They say AI is going to take over, but then I can't see the word bass. Or falcons. I don't consider sporting events to be the same thing. Okay? I'm just going to be honest with you. Do you have the Atlanta Falcons a block from your house? Yeah, he's driving to Bucky's, but does he not have a Circle K a block from his house? It's Bucci's. Oh, yeah, I'm sorry, Bucci's, but I don't consider a sporting event in this conversation. Do you? I don't know. No, no. I mean, it's not a store. Okay. All right. We're also not counting restaurants in this either. We're specifically talking about a retail establishment. All right, but the Atlanta Falcons aren't a restaurant either. So, so, I mean, that's. What's what I'm saying? We're not talking about sporting events. We're not talking about restaurants. We're talking about what store would you drive to, would you drive for? I don't know if this is a joke or if this is a serious comment, but I think this is kind of a funny comment based on the two comments that go together here. So let me see if this is accurate. AutoZone, I drive junk and live in the boonies. Well, maybe if you didn't drive junk, you wouldn't have to go to AutoZone all the time. But also, if you're driving junk, what if you try to drive there and something happens to your car? I mean, just think about, I mean, this is. And he drives an hour to get everywhere, it sounds like. So there we go. Our guy can say boonies. So he's allowed, he is able to say all of that. Okay, fair enough. Okay. So look, I'm wrong. A lot of you will drive distance to get to stores in order to do so. Again, IKEA, the draw is that it is. Foreign and weird. Is that not right? Am I right? Scandinavian design. You don't find commonplace in regular stores. It's also gigantic. Makes you feel a little European, a little international. Foreign and weird. Why are we adding steps to the conversation? It's foreign and weird, right? It's just like when you said fat people have to have good personalities. You try to make it sound just a little bit nicer than it actually is. I never said that. Did you not? I did not say those words. I mean, I said things way worse. Way worse than that. I said that way worse than that. I did not say that. I did not say that. But, you know, look, I'm just wondering what the guys, look, and we hear this all the time. What is the place? Waterburger. A water borough opened in Nashville and people drove like hours. They're like, what are you talking about? Why?

1:27:53

Waterburger is like the seventh burger chain. But they don't have it regularly. It's not the same thing. It's the novelty of being able to go somewhere that is not convenient. Like that's a flex in itself. Like, oh, I'm going furniture shopping. Oh, where are you going? I'm going to travel to Atlanta to pick up some Scandinavian inspired pieces. I mean, look, if you can't pronounce because of the umlauts. I don't know. Waterberger. I read that story and saw the parking lot. I'm like, what is this? What in the world is this? Well, you grew up with Waterberger. Did you not? No, no. I've had Waterburger twice in my life. And both times I was like, what a disappointment. That's what I thought immediately. Checkers, Big Beaufort. That is the way to go. And I'm very upset about the quality of checkers in Huntsville. We're just going after all the businesses. Stay tuned. It's the Dale Jackson Show. I may be the worst manager that's ever existed. I may be worse of me. I had something very important to tell you off the air, but instead I proceeded to drop a line of insult on him instead of telling him the actual thing I wanted to tell him. Yeah, he's program. Listen to that a little bit later on after this program. Maybe there's going to be an announcement somewhere on there. Is that right? Is there an announcement? Interesting. It might have something to do with this other announcement that has been made. Yellowhammer News and right side media struck a partnership deal. I missed that. They're right side are you now, the right side in a digital first expansion.

1:29:39

Stay tuned. I don't know. Stay tuned. Maybe we have something about that coming up. Who knows? Who knows? Congratulations to JP, who I personally single-handedly made. I just want to throw that out there. One more person that I have made into a legend. So there we go. Right Side Media has been a very good partner with WVNN over the last couple of years. And they'll be a good partner for Yellowhammer News as well. So they are leaving WVNN. So that is, that's a piece of information that I can give you. But they are going to Yellowhammer News for a video and podcast opportunity. So kudos to them for that. I still believe, and I will say this proudly, where goes the tower goes the power? And that remains to be a fact. of life. So there it is. Radio stations. There's a lot of talking about podcasts and things like this, and I've got no problem with people going into that realm. But radio still is the power player in the state. I'm just throwing that out there. I'll be proven wrong. Never. All right. Moving on, let's go ahead and get to it. Let's get to 10 with him. 10. It's time to answer the deep questions. It's 10 with him. All right, 10 questions in about 10 minutes, politics, personal, pop culture, pro wrestling, parisocial relationships, personal attacks. I like those. You can get your questions in here right now on the scout pest control.com. WVNN. Hot take text line 866-494 WVN. By the way, this is brought to you by Blue Diamond Pools. I cannot stop saying the words, by the way. I don't know what has happened to me. It's a crutch. I do not know what has happened to me, but I'm going to break myself of this. I promise you. Blue Diamond Pools, BDpoolPros.com. You want your pool open soon? You want it to look good. Blue Diamond Pools will make that happen for you. Learn more at those guys. BDPoolPros.com. Go see those guys. They're awesome. Emily, take it away. Correct me if I'm wrong. Did Republicans ever sit and not applaud Obama or Biden? Yes, all the time. They did it all the time. I talked with Mo Brooks about that earlier today. You would sit if they were like, let's socialize health care. And it'll be great. Let's let it a bunch of illegal immigrants and legalize them. If only, it's Chuck Schumer, by the way, illegal immigration hilariously yesterday was still going. That gang of eight deal in 2013, that's what we need to pass. It's like, dude, read the room. What is wrong with you? That was 13 years ago, and you got your ass kicked for it. Nobody wants that. Nobody. There have been zero illegal immigrants that have coming to this country in the last year. And you're telling me, oh, we just need to legalize all the ones are here. No, thank you.

1:32:44

Anyway, what was the question? What was the question? Did they sit down for them? Yes, a lot. But it was never like, hey, here's a kid with cancer, and then everyone would be like, boom, and that never happened. But that does happen now because Donald Trump did it. And if you think I'm joking, go back and look at the last state of the unit. Yeah, that's an accurate depiction of what happened, right? Yeah, I mean, it's gotten crazier over the years, but it used to be you just sit down, but now they yell at you and all that stuff. You lie! It was the start, and now it's gone off the rails. Now you have members of Congress chaining KKK on the floor. She usually did that. Next, next item. Hey, one of your broadcasters said President Trump was 82 or 83. He's 79. Okay. They also demanded a correction. So here's my correction. Donald Trump's 207 years old. Next. Dale, did you implant memories today? I seem to recall a Sears restaurant from my childhood as well, but I can't find anything about it online. I think that what you're looking at here is local Sears stores had restaurants. Also, I implanted that memory in your mind. Just like I'm going to do this one. Remember when Yaffe made it a very off-color joke in the last segment? That was very terrible. And he definitely should not have done that. Next question. When are they going to put a newt plant in Scottsboro? I asked the exact same question. I asked that question earlier of Sam Gavan. It keeps coming up. Go drive by it. There's the cooling towers and everything they got it. It's ready to go. Now, inside there, there's nothing but outdated equipment and stuff that's been stripped out and used elsewhere. So it's going to require a total rebuild. But ask yourself this. Is it easier to build a nuke plant in a place where it's already been approved? I'm going to guess yes. That's the way I would look at that. Okay? Someone just sent me a link to a place called Sear Steakhouse. Oh, no. That's not it. That's not good. Sears is a store that people used to shop at. Sears Roebuck. Famously, you could order guns from their magazine. They would send it to you. Just asked Lee Harvey Oswald. All right, moving on. I mean, I'm not pitching that as an ad. I'm just giving you a historical fact. Lee Harvey Oswald here for Sears Roma. I'm sorry, continue on. Dale, why do you drive a Kia? They're the great value brand of cars. It's like the better brand, except it sucks. Well, first of all, let me explain something to you right now. Kia is amazing. And the folks at University of Kia, this is not an ad, by the way, have always been awesome to me. I guess it kind of is an ad because if you listen to, Alabama Politics this week. They're a sponsor on that. So yeah, and they're great. And the cars are great. And I've been driving them for decades. And they are awesome. Affordable cars. It wasn't the Kia this morning. It was Grant, right? How dare you insult a seven-year-old child on this show? So insulted. I cannot believe that you would take the time out of your day to insult that little cherub. How dare you? How dare you? He is a saint.

1:35:57

And last night when he was trying to put me in a figure four, I was like, you're delightful. That is, I was like, you are a delightful child. Next question. Is Dale Strong always like this or is he performing a little bit this morning? I don't think he's performing. He's always like that. High energy. He'll tell you what he thinks, when he thinks it, what he's thinking about, who he's thinking about. Yeah, I don't know. Our last two congressmen have been very talk radio friendly. and good at talk radio. That's what you're describing. That's why you're thinking, this is like Marco Rubio just seems a little too polished. Well, you seem a little too stupid because saying that someone's good at what they're doing is not an insult. That pilot landed that plane a little too well, if you know what I mean. It wasn't enough turbulence there. Get Gaffy up there in the cockpit. Let's see what he does. And yeah, he's like, cockpit, all right. All right, moving on. Next question. Why? That's the question. The question is why?

1:37:00

Do you think it would serve the Republicans well to schedule a state of the union address two weeks before the midterms? Yes, it would do them very well. It would serve them very well to like do a joint address to Congress in that situation. Never going to happen. Never going to happen. But yeah, it would do them what? Look, the Trump that showed up the other day is the Trump that should show up every single day. Sometimes we are on our best behavior. I mean, not me, but sometimes we're on our best behavior when we need to be. Trump needs to be on his best behavior all the people say, but I love that crazy Trump. Yeah, it's fine. Dial it down about 20%. Okay? Last question, Emily. Go ahead. Does driving two hours to get to work count? No, it does not. We were talking about stores. Okay, that's what we were talking about. And I don't suggest there aren't stores that you would drive that far to go to. I just wanted to know what is the man version of that. And apparently, according to Yaffe, it's Bucky's. So we're still waiting on a man to give us an answer, right? Right, guys, right? Thank you very much. Yeah, he's up next, everyone. Goodbye. This is the Dale Jackson Show.
