It's live, it's local. It's the Dale Jackson Show. And it's only on News Talk 770 AM, 92 5 FM, WVNN. Depend on it. show. Good morning. We have got some news this morning. The United States Senate has agreed on a bill to fund DHS and pay TSA. That has happened hours after Donald Trump declared that he would be going and making sure that the DHS guys got paid regardless. He made the argument he was going to get him paid anyway. And it looks like that was the thing that moved this thing forward. None, none, none of the decisions or changes. Let's put it that way. None of the changes in the bill have been made in the way that the left wanted. They did not get anything out of this. Nothing. It's a total unequivocal collapse on the part of the American left on this particular issue. A total unequivocal collapse. Now, there will be attempts to declare victory and get that W and all this other stuff. We all know that's going to happen. We'll see how they really frame this thing. But as of right now, It does not really appear to me that they're going to be able to sell that very well. It's going to be a hard one. It's going to be a hard one for them to pull off because, again, you sit here. The package does not include any of the reforms the Democrats sought and GOP lawmakers oppose, or the new reforms on ice. So they got it going. And it sounds like they've got somewhat of an answer here. Now, the House will come around and get this open. The legislation passed by unanimous consent would fund all of the DHS through the end of the fiscal year except for immigration and customs enforcement agents at the Customs and Border Protection. So Border Patrol and ICE. Republicans are looking to fund those agencies in the party line budget reconciliation process. We could get messy down the line, but there already is some money out there for ICE to continue doing what they're doing. So it appears they have not been able to fill any of their promises, fulfill any of their promises, and they weren't able to get that done. So. TSA or TSA is moving forward being funded DHS being funded. Then they're going to come back and they'll pass a party line vote so Democrats can say, we didn't vote for ICE. We didn't vote for ICE. And that reconciliation will require a majority. So they essentially voted to fund ICE. And look, let them have their little win, okay?

Let them have their little tiny win where they get to claim that we didn't fund ICE. I mean, they cleared the way for ICE to be funded. So they essentially funded ICE. Let them continue to play their little game and see if they're able to kind of pull this off. I don't think they're going to be able to pull that off. I don't think that narrative is going to make any sense. I don't think anyone's going to believe what they're saying. But remember. A lot of what is said in modern American politics today is predicated on nobody believing anything they say when it comes to the American left. These are the same people that have told us that Iran and Donald Trump could not possibly be actually negotiating. And now we're learning, well, clearly they were negotiating. We learned what the big gift was. I don't know if that gift is really all that big, but it was a thing. First we were told there was no gift. And now we've learned the gift was letting some boats through the Strait of Hormuz. So there's that. Now, the Strait of Hormuz is not open enough to the liking of the American president or to reality. But nonetheless, At least that conversation has started, and there are negotiations going on. Donald Trump, who apparently always chickens out. Taco, Taco, Taco, Taco, Taco. Get ready for Taco Talk this weekend. Because this weekend, we are going to be seen some brand new protests. That's right. We'll be getting some brand new protests this weekend. You'll have to wipe your messages of fund the TSA agents away. Okay, you gotta wipe that away. Because that argument is over, guys. You're not allowed to use that one. So remember, TSA conversation, whoops, can't do that anymore. Now you're back to, well, you stay on this one because this is the big one. This is probably the more effective protest message for all of our. malcontent friends who are going to be out screaming in Big Spring Park or wherever they're going to be yelling this week or the square oh yeah the courthouse square in Athens you guys just remember war in Iran war and Iran war and Iran that that's the argument you're going to want to be making you're not going to want to be talking about stuff about TSA because that's getting funded. So, yeah, pretty, pretty eventful last couple of hours where things have actually gotten done and things have been passed. So there we go. We're looking at this situation. We should be relatively happy going in to this weekend. Again, the breaking news here is as follows. The Senate has agreed to end the shutdown for most of DHS. They're going to fund the TSA. And then more ICE funding is coming because they're going to pass it on a party line reconciliation vote. So Democrats can say, we held firm on ice. And everyone goes, you guys sure did. Wink.

wink wink wink wink it's like sir you're not supposed to say wink you're just supposed to do it no no wink wink wink wink wink wink wink wink wink wink wink wink wink because we all know what actually happened they collapsed they folded they're done that that's really what happened but you are more than welcome to make your argument that you guys you totally stopped ice agents except they came into the airports And then you funded them. So again, don't let people tell you things that aren't true. You remember this, okay? I'm giving you the way you deal with your friends, your family members who try to make this argument that we are dealing with a scenario where Democrats won something out of this. They got none of their reforms. TSA got funded, and they're going to allow Republicans to fund ICE with a party line vote on a reconciliation. They got nothing out of this. They got nothing out of this at all. They folded, they collapsed, they're losers, okay? Those are the stories you need to be telling. Donald Trump's art of the deal, art of the bluster, art of the BS, it's worked again. So I'd warn everyone who wants to say, well, you know, he's moving all these troops in to Iran. We're going to have mass casualties and things like this, that this is just part of the bluster, part of the conversation, part of the BSing. Because the negotiations are ongoing. So here's all the things that Donald Trump has said that have panned out over the last week. Iran is talking to us. Iran gave him a quote present. Okay. TSA agents were going to get funded. These things all happened. So I don't know why we're pretending that the guy is somehow an untrustworthy source on these things. Look, he lies a lot. He BS is a lot. I told you that a thousand times. I'm with you. I'm with you. But as of right now, I think the conversation the president is having with Iran, based on his recent run. is probably going to move us into the end phase of all of this. And that's good. These are good things. We should, of course, be rooting for victory here, not for defeat. But for some people, it's going to be hard. It's going to be hard. They're going to be very upset. You're going to see a lot of anger about DHS. being funded because Democrats, anyone who understands this is going to know that the DHS completely collapsed, or excuse me, the Democrats completely collapsed, okay? They know that. Oh, and Trump got another win yesterday. And we've already kind of covered this, but again, another big win for him. The big win yesterday was at the IOC.

The International Olympic Committee. The International Olympic Committee has made it pretty clear that we're done with allowing men to beat the hell out of women. Bold position for them to take, but they've come around. Who is the loudest advocate on that? Donald Trump? Who was talking about it the day before yesterday? Donald Trump. Why was he talking about it? I didn't know. But the IOC came out and said, okay, what's the deal? We're not going to allow this anymore. Some big Ws today. Some big Ws today. And it's going to be funny to see how our friends on the protest side of the world who want to protest absolutely everything. It's going to be funny how they decide that they want to frame this. Also funny. Let's talk about the ICE agents. Listen to this. Listen to this. This is the mayor of the city of Toronto. ICE have no place in this city. Toronto is about to welcome thousands and thousands of family because of FIFA World Cup where everyone belongs. Everyone's welcome. So stay out, ICE. We do not need you here. Was ICE going to Canada? Did I miss something? Was that going to happen? Was that a thing? And I asked that seriously. Was ICE heading to Toronto? Maybe they are. Maybe there's something about being an international airport or something like that. But does ice go to Toronto? Maybe they do. I don't know. Again, I don't know the answer to that. But it's very funny. The report says, ICE unwelcome in Toronto, counsel says, despite no plans to deploy agents at the World Cup. I don't know. I don't know. So apparently she just believes that coming out and saying, hey, no ice here is something powerful. But it's like, okay, cool. So congratulations to the international left. Big win here. Ice agents who weren't going to Toronto aren't going to go to Toronto for the World Cup. You did it. Congratulations. Everything is moving in the right direction for the international left. Oh, except for the fact that MAGA is rising. Not MAGA, but the right is rising in Europe right now. But other than that, international left, at least you got one win at the airport in Toronto. What's that one issue where you find yourself on the other side of the political aisle looking at your side going, bro, what the hell? What's that one issue? where you find yourself looking at the other side and going, oh, no, they're right on this. Let's go to Tom Huntsville. Tom, thank you very much for waiting. Go ahead. Hey, what's going on, guys? Good morning, everyone. With me, it's hard finding an opposing view, you know, kind of thing because we're so polarized today. But for me, it's going to be gay marriage. I do think Obergefelt should be overturned because, like, Rhodes Bath Law. But I don't think that I should have the right to stand between a man and a man or a woman and a woman if they want to marry and be happy. Why should I have the right to stand between their happiness? I wouldn't teach my kids this way. I wouldn't expect anybody else to try. So for me, that's where I'm at. Have you always felt that way when this debate was going on when it was when it was hot? Did you feel that way? Kind of yes. I want to say kind of only because I do feel that Obergefeld is bad law. But for the root of the issue, no, I've always felt that way. I don't think that I should have the right to, now let's not go into all the strange things, you know, kids and all the other superfluous stuff. That's a separate conversation. But as far as two people who are gay want to marry, I've always kind of felt that they should have the right to be happy like I did. No, I agree with that. Look, I always say this. This is my take. And I have another question for your second. Let me just explain something. My take has always been that I always say this. I said, I was pro-gay marriage before Barack Obama, Joe Biden, and Hillary Clinton started pretending. They were pro-gay marriage. But you're right about the way the laws have been put in place. There's a lot of questionable stuff there. And sort of just say, whatever, give them what they want. Who cares what the law actually says. But if you challenge it, why would you challenge it? I think that's where you're basically at on all this. But here's my question to you. This, I think, is my Roe v. Wade overfell, all that. This is my question on that. Should the states have the right if they want to ban gay marriage to ban gay marriage? Yes. Okay. Because it becomes a Tenth Amendment state's issue at that point. All right. I agree with that. Tom, thank you very much. You just made the list. I think this is going to be harder than we thought.

Okay, I do. I think it's good. I think it's going to be a little harder than I initially thought. But Tom, a good answer there. I appreciate that. Let's get to some of your other answers in here. Body cams for ICE for their own protection. They should never have been deployed without them. Look, I like it. I like it. I like that a lot. I like where you're going with it. I like the idea behind it. I do. But I looked this up when I saw this one come in. The body cams with Alex Pready and... What was her name? Renee Good. Excuse me. The body cams were there and on. Now, we do have one video where an officer is holding his phone, too. So there's that. But yeah, not everyone in ICE has body cams, and they all should. Okay? Not everyone does. Okay, not every single one of them does, but they and they should. I agree with that. I've been pro body cam forever. And now I did raise questions when they first started doing all this, but man, has it privacy questions and things like that. But for cops? Man, what a win that has been. I don't think there's any question. That has been a huge win for police. You just made the list. So that's one that the media absolutely, the media, they're Democrats for a right on. But you'll notice there has actually been a little bit of a walkback on this issue. By the left. because they don't like the way it's making certain people look, which is absolutely hilarious. Let's get to another one. That most government departments could use an overhaul. Unless you're on the left, and again, I can't dig that deep into every single text, or although I will occasionally go and look at what people are saying in the past, but I cannot find. any reason why this person would say that the other side of his political belief says that the government needs overhauls and his side says, no, they don't. I think the left and the right both believe government needs overhauls. The question is, what does that look like? You just made the list. But thank you very much for that. I think that's an interesting one. Also, what's interesting about this is what we also believe The other side believes might be exposed here. So this might be a far more interesting conversation than I thought that it might originally be. So I like some of these answers here. Here's a long one for you. Hopefully this counts. But since Democrats are such hypocrites, maybe they are all against it.

But I agree if business has to take all comers and not discriminate against anyone, then I want Facebook, Google, YouTube and others to let us have civil rights and be able to express ourselves as we wish, and since they back free speech, and our democracy they should be with us on this, and sell legal products on YouTube, like guns and parts. Internet is a necessary medium to a business now, and if PayPal... YouTube and Amazon cut you off. That's against your civil rights. No, I don't think that's... First of all, I don't... Let me try to broaden this a little bit. Or maybe narrow it would be the right way to put that. First off, it's not against your civil rights if they're not to let you do anything. I would argue the section 230. Stuff, I wish it was enforced by the letter of the law. Okay, that's one thing I would say. A viewpoint discrimination is literally against Section 230. Viewpoint discrimination. They don't have to allow you to do illegal things and stuff like that. But if they want the protections... of section 230, they're supposed to be an open marketplace of ideas where they're not responsible for the content of your speech. and that's what it was supposed to be, but they were supposed to basically not operate in a way where they were censorious, which they have decided they want to be. So again, I don't even know if this is an anti, this is not the other side of the aisle. Maybe I need to ask people to tell me what side of the aisle they're on, but I think I understand what side of the aisle this person's on. But I'm not sure, I'm not sure this is a bit of a, is really that much of a difference between the two political parties. But remember, During COVID, there were a lot of people on both sides that wanted people to be censored, and they wanted that. I think there were plenty of people that. Can I say something about this really quick? Yeah, yeah, go ahead. So during COVID was when I was working in social media, and I just want to say that it is very, very difficult to moderate a massive platform with like no bias whatsoever because nobody is ever happy. at all. And also, how do you get banned on Amazon and PayPal? I just don't, you're not interacting with anybody, really. Well, okay, so, so people did get, the people did get banned on PayPal because what would happen is, a couple of things. One, people would go on social media and be like, here is, here is where I stand on this, this, this, and this. Okay, so like cross-platform banning. Well, right, yes. That should be illegal, I think. But the reason, hold on, hold on. The reason they got banned is because they would say, you know, support my channel or support me by going to PayPal, blah, blah, blah. Okay. So what people would do is then utilize that and go to PayPal and say, hey, this guy is an unacceptable bigot, or this guy is spreading misinformation about COVID, or this guy is that or that. And what happens?

is you have a bunch of people who just, okay, fine, we'll take this person down because we don't like it. And that's, so that's happened. Yeah, that happened during COVID, luckily or thankfully, a lot of those policies are gone now. Yeah, no, I agree with that too. I agree with that. Basically debanking and stuff like that, that's sort of where people are on this. And yeah, okay, so that's interesting. That's an interesting way of framing that. I'm not sure I necessarily agree that that is a disagreement. per se okay uh and what i'm asking here and this person has it right okay this this person gets what the point of the question is and i like it so this isn't necessarily an answer to it but i do like this the way they're framing this just just as a a sort of a baseline of where we are this is like being in debate class having to defend something you don't believe in The only defense the left has is anything Trump says or does is wrong. Well, I mean, that's true. That's absolutely true. But you know what? I'm going to put this guy on the list because I think he nailed it. It's like having to debate class and having to defend something you don't believe in. But in this case, you do actually need to believe in it because I want people to actually believe what they're saying. Okay. The point of the question. is that you look at the other side that you normally disagree with. Like you're looking across the protest at some blue-haired freak if you're a conservative and they've got a sign and you go, that's actually a good point. Student loan forgiveness. I don't think it should be done by taxpayers. It should be taken out of the endowments of the colleges that preyed on the ignorance of young people and their parents. I do like that. I appreciate it. You just made the list. I do like that a lot of these. I do like that a lot of these are like, here's an issue, and then here's a thousand caveats to make it as clear as I can possibly be that I actually don't agree with the other side. I believe it's due loan forgiveness, but not the way they're doing it, a completely different way, a 180 completely different way that they're actually doing it. They should take it out of the endowments. Now, look, I don't disagree with that, but. if we were going to do student loan forgiveness. But here's the real issue. We tell these kids they need to go to college, and they should just take out loans and deal with it. That is not what we should be doing. I tell Grant all the time, you're going into the National Guard at minimum, and he says, what's that? Because he's seven. But I tell him all the time, and Cindy and I were debating this the other end. I was like, look, I can just tell you right now. I'm so far ahead of the curve. because I was in the U.S. Army. They had to deal with anything when it came to student loans. I mean, I had like $7,000 in student loans when I left the University of Florida. Okay? And all I did was drinking party the entire time while I was going to school. And I did work like a pizza hut and do stuff like that for some spending money. But my GI Bill and Army College Fund, that completely took care of everything. And it was fantastic. It was fantastic. Had a great time. Anyway, where are we at? Okay, here we go. Punish the commie colleges and stop subsidizing it so tuition will be affordable. Okay, all right, that's a... You just made the list! Are you a leftist? I mean, is that... How is that... How is that? Okay, I don't know. That's not a disagreement, but all right, we'll try to make it work. Now, this is a good one. This is one that I expected. Okay? This is one that I expected. And by the way, this will be a lot easier if you will start your text and things like that with I'm a conservative or I'm a liberal or something like that because it will give us a little easier way to look at it. But I'm just assuming, based on everything, that it's the opposite of what we're seeing. So I'm trying to piece this together and make sense of it. The war in Iran. Israel being our ally. Okay, all right. There we go.

So your problem is, you're on the right, and you think that we shouldn't be in Iran. And that's not, no one says Iran. I don't know what that is, but Iran. And you don't think Israel is our ally. Yeah, I think that puts you out of step with a lot of, a lot of concerns. Now, the fringe of the Republican Party is with you. Okay? The far right. And now the Tucker Carlson's, the Megyn Kelly's and Candace Owens of the world, they're with you on that. But yeah, you are. You are absolutely out of touch and out of step with the majority of conservative. So that's a good one. That's a really good one. Here's another pretty good one. If the enforcement of SB 129. SB 129 is the DEI ban, divisive concept ban in colleges and whatnot in Alabama. So sorry about that. Let's continue. If the enforcement of SB 129 prevents a direct victim of court-proven legislative discrimination from getting the full tools and platform, including a university magazine voice, by denying such a student fulfilment of their needs, that's a problem worth calling out. They wanted seven. I said, no, no, I'll give you 10. And that apparently is a real part of that conversation. That is taking place. Are we done pretending there is no conversation taking place? Are we done with that? Okay, we've stopped. You've gotten about a week of that on the left. The president's line, okay, well, turns out you were wrong about that. Are you going to stop? I'm just asking, is it something that you can stop doing now? Okay, I'm just checking, just checking. Okay, if you want to weigh in, then you want to get in on anything. And right now, get this, North Alabama is seen two of the counties where over 50% of Alabama's new residents are going. that's a big deal okay there is a huge influx of people coming in and it is it is a real it's a joy let's just put it that way but i'll remind you we're full okay so stop it okay stop coming in here okay thanks appreciate it number six Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall has issued a cease and desist targeting illegal cratum products being sold to unsuspecting consumers, warning that certain formulations could contain dangerous, synthetic compounds that violate state law. Now, I'm going to be honest right now with you, okay? I'm going to tell you this right now. You are not selling this to unexpected consumers. That's not what you're doing. You are selling it to people who know exactly what they're buying.

and it should still be illegal. Yeah, we've gone too far. We've gone too far. I keep telling you, we need to rein some of this stuff in. And I got to tell you, we are providing more intoxicants and more intoxicants. But Dale, what about beer? I know, I know, I know, I know. So anyway, back to the actual conversation. We've done too much. We've gone too far. Let's roll it back and force the law. Number five. Kudos to Mayor Randall Woodfin. Yes, he is actually doing something right. What? Well, the city of Birmingham is saying, um, Maybe we shouldn't allow homeowners to let their homes fall into the state of disrepair. Maybe we shouldn't allow that. Maybe we should actually police our city. Well, they could do it more if the laws allowed them. And I like it. I like every single thing about this. And I like that there is a bill that has been pushed that could, in fact, give the city stronger authority to address vacant and neglected properties that have fallen into disrepair. It's a problem for them. They're spending about $15 million a year dealing with these blinded properties. This would make them go after the individuals who own those properties. Look, if you don't want to do anything with this, sell it, let someone come in and do something with it. I like everything about this. Number four. No, Kings. Boo! Boo! Donald Trump is a king. Boo! Yeah, it's happening. Montgomery, Birmingham, Huntsville, Mobile, other locations around the state of Alabama and the country. Thousands of protests are planned. And they're going to be screaming about no kings. They're probably very, now look, they're now going to have to go down to the Walmart, get that poster board, throw the one away that said, you know, fund the TSA or whatever. Get that one out of there. And keep writing about how you got to protect those Iranian Ayatollahs. As the death of the Ayatollah continues to rise, you make sure you get out there and you fight that good fight for those Iranian monsters who have killed 50,000 of their own people, oppressed, and have basically been terrorists, not basically, well, yeah, they're terrorists, around the region. Hey, you go ahead and you get it, okay? You get out there and you fight those good fights for them, okay? Make sure you get pictures too, so we all know who you are. Number three. The soon-to-end partial government shutdown has led to TSA staffing shortages and delays at airports. But the United States Senate... has passed a partial funding bill that would allow all the funding to go through for TSA and the Coast Guard and all these other things. We need to put the Coast Guard under the DOW, but whatever. We've made this work. It's going down, but ICE hasn't been funded. No, no, ICE hasn't been funded. No, they totally stopped them on ice. Look at the Democrats. Look at what you guys did. Yes, you did. You stopped the funding of ICE, except, you know,

I would say huge dubious for Trump today. Okay? Once again, the media is completely sure that there was no prize. They were sure that there is no conversation. They're sure about all of this. They were wrong on everything. They were sure that sending ice agents into the airport would just anger people even more. Maybe so, but it got the deal done. In any other administration... Our friends in the media would be praising the President of the United States as a dealmaker and someone who can get things done. They're not going to do that here. Okay, so there seems to be a little bit of... of a question about something I said a minute ago, and I want to get to this. And look, this is a fair, it's a fair question. But I don't think it's really much in doubt, okay, because I think that, well, I'll just say, here's the question. How can you say Trump is winning here? I mean, how can you look at the last 24 hours and say he's losing? I mean, how can you possibly, how can you look at the last 24 hours of today and say that he's losing? I don't think that you can. I don't think there's any logical way to look at what's going on right now and say that Donald Trump is not winning. And I'm, guys, look, I know you guys think I'm like this big Trump humper and stuff like that, but I don't think that's a very valid way of looking at my positions on almost anything. but it does look like on a lot of issues he has made it very clear where he stands and has made it very clear what exactly he believes and what he thinks is happening and what he wants to see happen and I'm sorry over the last 24 hours hasn't there been like a massive amount of vindication

I mean, I've been telling you this before. Let me make this as clear as I possibly can. Okay? Listen to me. Listen to me good. Okay? Here is the truth of the matter. He told us that we need to get the TSA stuff done and it wasn't happening fast enough. So what does he do? He sends ice into the airports. Wait times come down. Democrat anxiety goes up. And they make a deal less than a week later. Are you telling me you don't think those things are related? You don't think those things are not connected at all? Again, you could not like the guy, which is sort of the premise of our $50 free-for-all-Friday question of the day today. You cannot like the guy all day. You can not like him. You can hate him. Okay, that's fine. Hate him. Hate his guts. But TSA agents are going to get funded. TSAHs are going to get funded. That's going to happen. So what exactly is the problem there? How do you not win? Okay, you don't like that one? Okay, let's go to Iran here for a second. Over the course of the last week, Donald Trump has been saying there's negotiations going on. The meeting there are Democrats have been saying there's no plan. There's nothing. There's nothing going on. Nothing's happening. Oh my God. But. Donald Trump got the 10 ships through the Strait of Hormuz. That was the big president, which they said wasn't happening. There's clearly a conversation happening between the Iranians and Donald Trump. They clearly are planning something. Something's being planned. Don't tell me nothing's being planned. They're not, you cannot scream in one breath that nothing is being planned and there is no strategy. And in the next breath scream, yeah. And what's up with all these troops going to the Middle East, right? I mean, explain that to me, guys. Explain it to me. How do you make both arguments at the same time? The Iranians allowed those ships to go through. There's clearly some conversation taking place. Do you want it? I mean, Trump always chickens out, right? Okay, so you want him to bomb the energy today? I mean, what exactly are you going for? I get that, you know, Trump sucks. We hate him and oh my God, he's the worst, no kings, et cetera, et cetera. But at this point, you're just, you might as well take off the Palestinian headscarf thing and just wrap yourself in the Iranian flag. I mean, because that's exactly what it looks like you're doing. So how can I say he's winning? That's a great question. I read the news. That's how I can say it. Because it's all very clear today. that he's winning. Now, you can make the Army you don't like him again. That's fine. I don't care about that. His poll numbers are terrible. Republicans are going to lose the House. That's all fine. That's just what's happening. I can't debate that with you. That's exactly what's going down. However, allow me to just point this out. I would prefer America win these battles and lose the House.

that America lose in Iran. Okay? I mean, that's, we're different that way. Okay? That's where we're different. And we'll just have to accept that. Okay? But before we do, we always have to ask him the question of the day here real quick, but I want to give an answer that other folks are giving to the question of the day. The question of day is this, you look across the aisle. What's the one thing they're getting right across the aisle? What is the one thing that they get right? A good answer came in from a listener. I'm going to give this real quick. No kings. Ah, that's okay. All right. You got it. That's actually a really good one. Yeah, I also agree with no kings as well. Unfortunately, they don't really mean it. Okay, so that they just don't like Trump and they're just calling him a king. When it comes to dictators, They seem to be kind of cool with them in Venezuela and Cuba and Iran and things like that. They seem to be completely fine with it. Let's bring State Senator Orr in here. State Senator Arthur Orr is on the Alabama A&M $350 million bulldog hotline. Let's talk about them for a second. $350 million. That is how much money North Alabama, or excuse me, Alabama gets from Alabama A&M and all their economic activity. 238 million in North Alabama alone. Learn more at AAMU.edu. State Senator Orr represents Decatur, Morgan County, parts of Livestone County, parts of Madison County. He's also a big wig, as we are told regularly by people. They named theaters after him. They do all sorts of things. Senator Orr, by the way, before we go any further, congratulations to Kay Ivey, got another building named after her. I thought it was just going to be the prison. But nope, now she has the Attorney General's office named after her as well. Good job, guys. Got it done. What's the question of the day? Okay. All right. Here's the question of the day is this. Here's the question of the day. You look across the aisle, you find one thing you actually agree with them on. What's that one thing? What's that one bipartisan senator or position? So I'd have to say it'd be in the area of consumer protection or data privacy, you know, I had a bill, Dale, that would limit what companies can do with your data. When you go, you know, fill out the application for a loan at the bank, you know, they take that data that you give them, your income, your, your liabilities, et cetera. And they sell all that to credit card companies and others, you know, all across the financial spectrum. And you didn't agree to that. I mean, I guess it was in the small, fine print that you had to fill out that you didn't read, but you had to sign and agree to to be, to put in an application for a loan. So anyway.

I think the data privacy, consumer protection realm is something that Republicans and Democrats can generally agree on when companies take your information and market the heck out of it or exploit it. I like that. I like that. Let me offer you up a piece of legislation here that you could offer that could resolve some of this. Okay, here it is. Here it is. It's called the Just Ring Up My Order Act. I'm making it up right now as we speak. It forbids. It forbids anyone asking me my phone number or my email address in the middle of a checkout. And it forbids them from saying, would you like to round up? Would you like to give money to this? Would you like to get money to that? It's just all they can do is ring up my order. They can have signs. They can have prompts. They can have whatever they want. But stop asking me. They're not allowed to do that. Is that constitutional? You're going to have a problem there for Mr. Jackson, but it's good to know your heart is that of Ebenezer Scrooge and you're not wanting to help the calls of the day at the local Publix or Kroger or whatever. All you have to say is bah humbug and they'll move right along. Oh, God, it's just, it's so, it's so annoying. I'm sorry. There ought to be a law that makes me. I'm not going to disagree with you. I'm not going to disagree with you to be hit up, you know, everywhere you turn. So it's like the tip at the hamburger joint where they, you know, try to coerce you to tip. And usually I do. But anyway, maybe I'm the cause of the problem. Well, it's because people know who you are because you're a big deal. You know that if you don't tip, you're going to end up on social media about it. Let's move past this and let me ask you this question. Senator Sam Gavann went on right side media and said that the appetite for the closed primary bill in the Senate doesn't really appear to be there. I think we've known that for a while. I thought it's gotten a lot of attention, though, lately. And I thought maybe the needle would be moved a little bit. But there's only so many days in the calendar. And I know you guys just wake up one day. You're like, what? It's the last day. What my projects are doing? You're like run out of the house of your hair mess and everything. But it doesn't matter. Not enough days to get this done. Is that the issue? You know, we'll have to see. I'm not sure exactly where the bill is in the process, but, you know, there's a lot, there are a lot of bills that sometimes are kind of stuck to get moving in the waning days of the session and get legs and get traction. And we'll cross the finish line, presumably on the last day or the second to last day. Do you find support for this bill? Is there some sort of bubbling Republican move against this or anything like that? Is there a lot of questions about whether or not this is something that y'all actually want to do? Well, I think there are always questions. I don't find a hard and fast resistance to it, but as it gets farther along in the process, of course,

Questions arise and people start taking notice. For example, Dale, many times I'll hear from constituents worried about a House bill that just got filed. And I have to, you know, I certainly respond, but say, you know, that's a long way from the Senate floor, particularly if it doesn't go through a committee. I sit on in the Senate, but it's got to get through the House, House Committee, and all the legislative process. So many times until a bill gets traction or gets moving. Yeah, you just don't have time to focus on it. There's so many other things going on that are right there on your front doorstep figuratively, and you've got to consider. Yeah, I agree with that. There's a lot of things that move and there's all these pieces moving around the state. And whether or not they get done, there is a lot of questions about how that's going to happen. All right. So when we talk about issues of the past, school choice has been a big one. Correct me how wrong here. I think this happened. This came up. Someone asked me this yesterday. Did the Alabama... legislature pass the budget that includes more funding for school choice. That's correct, right? The House did, yes, and the bill is now pending in the Senate. The House basically just ratified what Governor Kay Ivey had recommended in her proposed budget. So it will fully fund year two of the Choose Act. And again, as you know, that's those with a percentage of poverty cap as far as those that would be eligible in year two. But after year two, that cap comes off. And then it's just up to how much will be appropriated. How much will the governor and legislature appropriate to that program? And as we appropriate, that would, you know, depending on those dollars, how much they are, that would presumably the cap, the 350% poverty, would float up or could float back down just based on that appropriation amount. So any roadblock on that spending bill and that education bill in the Senate, you think? No, right now, last week's numbers. I'll get a new number today. The amount was around 187 million in applications. That doesn't mean they've all been. you know, validated and that they're able to get the funding, those that have applied because their income may not meet that income cap, and they just may not be eligible. So, but as far as applications, we're at 187 million right now. Governor Kay Ivey put 250 million in her budget request.

So there's plenty of money there. I'm sure we'll have some here in the last few days, Tuesday being the last day for people to apply. But again, some of those that have applied will not be eligible just for whatever, you know, certain reasons. Yeah, meaning they make too much money at this particular point in time. I think that is true. And I think you run into some of that. Last question here, and I will let you go after this. Senate Bill 129 has run into some issues. And I don't think of the enforcement, honestly, but in the legal realm where some students at the University of Alabama are like, hey. We had a black magazine, and now we don't have a black magazine. Give us back our black magazine. And that's kind of weird. It's kind of weird that's a lawsuit. Is there any legs on that? Is there a chance that a judge, and I don't mean maybe at a lower level, a judge will say, yeah, yeah, give them back their black magazine. You have to do that. Is there any way that that bill actually gets blown up over something like this? I'm not familiar with the details of the bill, but I would see it. As far as the issue in the black magazine, it's a free country. If they want to have a black magazine that's focused on black issues, then that's certainly their prerogative and freedom to do so. The question becomes, does the university fund it? And that's where the rub comes when you talk about something that may violate the DEI law. So just... It'll work its way through the court system, I would imagine, and at some point we'll get a final ruling and move on. Yeah, I just don't think it's such a weird argument that somebody would make that the university is obligated to fund a black magazine or a gay magazine or something like that because if that's the case, and I don't want to see this happen, but if that is the case, then what's to stop, I don't know, a white supremacist from coming on campus and be like, Hey, yeah, what about me? You guys are obligated to fund this thing too, right? You know, a Christian magazine, a, you know, a Muslim magazine, whatever, they would just need to steer clear of such areas, and I would think they will. And we'll wait on the courts to... weigh in on it, but I would think in due time, I don't know about the lower court, like you suggested, but the Alabama Supreme Court, I think, will be pretty strong about it. So the Iranians aren't supposed to have missiles. And you don't want to talk about consumer fraud because you're a liar. Do their missiles go further than that? Dude, I'm not talking about nukes. the insistence of the American left to keep fighting about the issue of transgender in sports. There's not an issue they have been more resoundingly defeated on, decimated, obliterated, destroyed. There's not another issue where they have been more beaten down on. But they can not stop doing it. It is everywhere. It is, why is, what is it, Yaffe about this issue that these people insist on driving home, even though they lose every round? They never win. Everything they say, they end up on the wrong side of it. Why is that? Why will they not stop? Because they want to destroy traditional values in the family. So this is one of the best ways to do it, I guess. Yeah. And in this case, I really have a real problem truly grasping what they're trying to do here because they're not winning. This is not a W for them. It's L after L after L, yet they just continue with this. And they pretend that what's going on here is somehow not a complete rejection of their values. It's a complete rejection. And there was that female boxer who was beating the hell out of the girls. And she's got issues now where she said, I'm not going to take that. Well, now she is. And she's going to be found to have the chromosomes of a man. And so she's a man. And people have a lot of problems with these things. And I think it's completely fair. One of the arguments they made, this was so funny. I just want to get your thoughts on this. They said Michael Phelps is a fantastic swimmer because of his lung capacity. And that is an inherent trait that he cannot control. But he should still be banned from swimming because it's unfair to the other swimmers. Oh, my gosh. Right. Like that's... I don't even know how to address that part. What's funny, though, and you were talking about that, not only are they losing, but they're giving conservatives victories because we can constantly pound them on this issue. And it helps us. The left always says this, yet with the argument that anything goes with who you choose to love. Well, love is love is what they actually say. Maybe they do say God is love. But I don't hear that a lot from the left, but I'll take your word for it. You just made the list. This is one that is a little more interesting. Increase the tax on Social Security to all income. Remove the tax limit. You know, I find myself, I'll just got to, I'm going to be honest with you, I find myself kind of in agreement with that. I don't hate that. I don't know why we cap it there. I don't think it needs to be capped there. Oh, they can't take it. Oh, they can't this. I get that. I get it. I understand it. Or they're not going to, maybe they'll draw Social Security, but they don't need Social Security. So let's just tax them into oblivion. In that particular case, I don't really have a problem with that. You have any Social Security tax, remove the cap? I don't have a huge problem. I understand the other argument, though, that they're not receiving. You know, what they're putting in. That is right. That is right. And that is kind of the main argument against it. But on the other side, screw those guys. Right? That's the other side of the argument. As a Republican, the one thing the other side does well is they stay in unison. That's true. So my friend is turning 40, and he wants to do a weekend at the lakehouse, which I love, but I don't have my lakehouse anymore. So we got to rent a lakehouse. So I task my wife with this. And the place she sends that she's booked, and there's a cancellation, so we're going to cancel. But the place she's sent and booked doesn't even have a hot tub. Is this a reason for a divorce? I got to say it's close. It's close. And what's the point? What is the point? What are we doing? What are we doing? Now, this is in July, so the water will be wonderful and great. It's going to be awesome. And Tim's Ford is awesome as well. But I'm just... I'm infuriated, infuriated by this angered. I'm incensed. You know what? It makes me wonder, is this relationship going to make it? I mean, we got a 10-year anniversary. We're going to Mexico. We're going to have a good time, all this other stuff. Okay? First off, I need I need you to identify where you think you stand politically and where you find disagreement. Real quick, let's do it. So that was actually my answer because I am, I've been struggling. I'm so split politically. I don't know how to answer the question because I haven't been able to decide which side I agree more with. That is such a non-answer that it infuriated. I know, but I've been so upset. That I'm just going to say, say no more. No. Yeah, say nothing else. If you figure it out in the next 10 minutes, I agree with most, you know, big things on either side or, you know, I disagree with like the equal amount. You're saying nothing, which I would prefer you have done than what you've done. Which side am I? All right. Austin. Give me an answer. What do you got? I would say I'm pretty right-leaning. And the thing that I wish the conservative movement did more was environmental stuff. I feel like that's so core to American identity and art. And I would really like the national parks, things like that. I feel like it's kind of an easy grab to conserve those kinds of environments. You want to hear a funny story? Yeah. So Mo Brooks used to belong to like the Sierra Club, which is a very left-wing group now. But at the time, it wasn't like the climate change and all this other stuff they're doing now. It was a, hey, maybe the lake shouldn't be on fire. Like, like, because pollution was, like in the 70s, like pollution was really, really bad to the point where, you know, rivers in Cleveland were burning. Maybe it shouldn't smell like cat food anymore now, too. Yes, exactly right, exactly right. But, but it was funny because when he ran for office, he would get attacked for formerly being a member. of the Sierra Club. That was one of the slams against him, which is very funny, very funny. You know, I was talking to someone the other day, and actually I mentioned on my TV show, you'll hear it on WVNN this weekend, Alabama Politics this week. I was saying to somebody, I was like, you know, you watch those ads during the Mo Brooks, Katie Britt race, and you would think Mo Brooks was joining ISIS to let illegal immigrants into the community. That's what you would have thought. And the Sierra Club thing kind of falls into that. So I also, I get that. That's actually a really good one. Can I change mine and just copy his? Quickly. No, no, I just, you know, me too. Just completely copied it. Ditto. That's your answer. Duggy. Bugsie. Don't turn your mic off. I want you to unplug your microphone. Okay? That's what I want you to do. All right. Yeah, Fee. What do you got? I agree with them that there's too much corporate welfare. There's too much.

Oh, we want these businesses. So we're going to give them all these tax breaks. We're just going to give them tons of subsidies. And we do that with too many big businesses. And I know it's not going to change anytime soon. But that's an issue where I agree with the other side on. Okay. All right. I think that's good. Do you consider incentives for like Volkswagen and Chattanooga, you know, Kia in Alabama or Georgia, Toyota and Huntsville, Mazda Toyota? Do you? Do you think that's corporate welfare? To a certain extent, yeah. I mean, it's, I will say there's a difference between, say, a tax break and a subsidy. But no, I would much prefer a system where it's just the same for everyone. And I know it's not going to change because if we don't do it, other states do it. And that's the problem. But it just, it just bothers me that, you know, if you want to run a small business, they're not like, oh, okay, well, we're going to give you all this. But if you're, you're, you are completely wrong on this, like embarrassingly wrong. Like, that's, that's, I, I, I. Embarrassingly wrong. I'm considering firing you because of how wrong you. I thought Bugsie had the worst answer. Her microphone got unplugged. You're about to get fired because your answer is so bad. Holy cow, that is a terrible. No, the corporate welfare part I agree with, but I'll get it like this, but look at Bernie Sanders. Have you seen anything Bernie Sanders is doing? The home team act, have you heard about this? No. So the Chicago Bears are getting ready to leave Chicago. and go play in Indiana. That's just across. It's not that far. It's like 40 minutes away. You know, the Braves move north. Kansas City Chiefs are moving to Kansas, as opposed to Missouri, Kansas City, Kansas, where they are. They're moving across the border. All these things are happening because of, as you would describe it, corporate welfare, right? And so what Bernie Sanders wants to do is make it to where if the Bears want to move to Indiana, they have to give the city of Chicago the option to buy the team. Because the city of Chicago would then purchase the team at fair market value from the ownership to keep them from moving. Now, I think this is a terrible idea because it incentivizes the cities to not make a deal. to keep the teams and then buy the teams. I think it's a bad idea and it's not going to happen ever. I think it's probably also a constitutional force somebody to sell something. I can't imagine you can force someone to do that. But the premise is what's your premise is, too much corporate welfare. But I look at it a different way. If Indiana says we can make the money we're going to spend back in tax revenue or tourism or prestige, whichever way you want to look at it, Isn't that a smart move for the city to make that investment? I understand why they do it. Mine is more of a – it's not the role of government to do that kind of stuff. It's not the role of government to set up the area for investment? I mean, is it wrong when Huntsville goes out and annexes large swaths of land under the premise that they're going to get –

manufacturers? Is that not the role of government? Well, you're talking about annexing land, that's fine. If you're talking about infrastructure, that's fine. But when you're literally handing out giant subsidies, because a lot of times with the sports stadiums, I mean, the city itself is spending billions of dollars. I agree with that. Okay. The straight up cash subsidies I got a problem with. Tax incentives. Less of a problem with. Infrastructure is zero problem with that. That's my thing. All right. Yeah, Abby, you're fired. All right. Do you want to say anything else since I've, since I kind of monopolize that? Do you want to say anything else on that conversation? No, I mean, basically, I just think it would be better if the government just focused on a low tax, low regulation environment for everyone. Okay. Instead of special favors for ones. over others. Okay, since Yaffy and Bugsy have completely destroyed this segment of the program by being so awful and wrong, I'm going to share some more of your responses on the other side before we get into 10 with him. But I'll give you my answer on this too. My answer is Donald Trump's government overreach is out of control. And I'll just use the example of the FCC. The FCC stuff that Brendan Carr and others are doing is so out of bounds. that if a Democrat was doing it, people would lose their ever-loving mind. They would freak out about it. They'd be whining about the fairness doctrine returning and all this other stuff. And they're doing it. And conservatives are just like, oh, no, it's fine. It's a big problem. You have to your thoughts on my take. It's actually a really good one. Yeah. Yeah, they're out of control. I mean, Brendan Carr should not be doing the stuff he's saying. Donald Trump shouldn't be saying the stuff he's saying about content and things like that. If you want to talk about ownership and stuff like that, and they just approve yet another merger too. Oh, these companies are doing this. Then you allow them to merge. Again, I'm not really against emerging, but it's just it's a weird way they're handling it. And it makes it look like they're trying to control the conversation and maybe an inopportune and improper way. That's my take on it. We need to abolish a lot of what the FCC does, period. I don't know where that's. The question is, where are the Democrats right if you're a Republican, where are the Republicans right if you're a Democrat, conservative, liberal, whatever, where's the other side right? I agree with Democrats that we should help the poor and less fortunate. I just disagree that creating bloated federal bureaucracies that result in fraud-like, leering centers in Minneapolis is the best way to do it. They know it's not the best way to do that, by the way. That's fraud. Okay, that's what that is. So, yeah, they're well aware that's not the best way to do it. Stop hiding behind the need for redacted documents. Release every single piece of evidence in the Epstein case. It's so funny, if you went back five years, the sides on that would have flipped. Who that would come from in order to be an opposite opinion would have completely flipped.

You never saw a rally say release the documents during the Biden administration. It's kind of funny. It's actually, it's very, very fitting, I think. But I think it's a fair way to say, I think they're right. Republicans release it. If I, here's how I know there's nothing in the Epstein files. You tell me if I'm wrong on that. There's been no mass release of stolen documents. That's how I know. If there was like Donald Trump raping children in there, don't you think that somebody in the DOJ would have leaked it? Yeah, I mean, you had Anonymous, remember that guy? I mean, somebody would have, yeah. Yep, I agree with that. Last one, and then we'll get into 10 with him. Here we go. Because I have a telecom degree from the University of Florida and have lucked into the greatest job in the world. And she has an MBA from Alabama, an engineering degree from Auburn, raising an absolutely genius child and makes helicopters. Who should be making the decisions in this relationship? Who? If it's about having fun and doing crazy stuff, it's me. If it's about anything else? It's her. Yeah, he's had a good decision on my part. I wanted to make decisions in my life now. I mean, honestly. Just call her up and be like, what should I do here? And I'll tell you this, to quote Cindy. I'll just make sure I get this right. I would miss quote her. That bitch is going to tell you to read your email, Abby. That's what she's going to do. All right. Okay, here we go. I agree that women and children should have access to food security. Who are running these ads attacking Tubill for stock trading? Just heard the craziest ad on your station. The Alabama leadership wants us to believe that Turboville is the same Nancy Pelosi. Do they really think we're that stupid? Who is the Alabama leadership, by the way? It's an out-of-state group. I know that. It's a pack. And they're running these attack ads against Humberville under the premise that he is insider trading. Here's another one. I don't know if it's a left or right thing, but I'm for a complete ban on insider trading. You just take the money that they have, make them sell all their stocks if they want to be a United States senator or congressman, put it into like some sort of account and it goes up with inflation. Or maybe up with the GDP. Let's put it that way. That's a better way to do it. Up with the GDP. You have your thoughts on my plan to fix everything. Sounds good.
