She told a local TV station she will not run. For a third term next year, the announcement comes about a month after the meltdown you just heard. She's supposed to talk more about her decision at a news conference today. Also topping the news, Tyler Robinson, the alleged Charlie Kirk assassin, appears in court at 4 o'clock this afternoon for the first time as we learn more about why he may have murdered. The conservative influencer. Text message exchange where he, the suspect specifically stated that he had the opportunity to take out Charlie Kirk and he was going to do that. And when he was asked why, he said some hatred cannot be negotiated with. FBI director Kash Patel with KTRH is Sean Hannity. The FBI is also looking into whether or not Robinson had help.

Meantime, Texas Senator Ted Cruz went viral for painting over an anti-Kirk graffiti over the weekend. It's a freeway I drive every week, and it's just grotesque, the level of hate, the level of glorifying in the murder of Charlie Kirk. Cruz with KTRH as Sean Hannity as well last night. It's been less than a week since Kirk's assassination, and the radical left is already putting a list together of more targets. Prominent conservatives like Matt Walsh and Ben Shapiro, along with pop culture figures like Joe Rogan and J.K. Rowling are among those mentioned in left-wing social media posts as assassination targets. Florida Congressman Byron Donalds tells Fox News this rhetoric is getting out of control. I'm not a pollyana. Politics is a rough sport. We're trying to get our points across. But when you dehumanize your political rival, what you end up doing is you put them in harm's way from people who are deranged who think that now they have to take matters into their own hands. website called Exposed Charlie's Murderers was launched to collect and expose online posts that celebrate Kirk's death or call for more violence. Corey Olson, News Radio 740, KTRH. It is now 504, President Trump announcing that the U.S. military shot down a second boat, allegedly carrying drugs from Venezuela. Spattered all over the ocean, big bags of cocaine and fented all over the place, and it was, plus we have recorded evidence that they were leaving. Three people were killed in this operation, the second one on a drug boat from Venezuela in a week. Meantime, Illinois Democrat Governor J.B. Pritzker is trying to gaslight the country on the expanded ice operation in Chicago. We've seen a death on Friday as a result of their entering communities and putting people into fear. What J.B. Pritzker isn't telling you is that the illegal alien who died tried to get away by hitting in drag. an ICE agent with his car who fired a gun to save his own life. And there's even more leftist propaganda when it comes to ice. But if you know the history of policing in this country, then you understand that they were born out of slave patrols. That is Jasmine Crockett on MSNBC over the weekend. Former Texas State Senator Don Huffines calls it divisive rhetoric the likes of which of real consequences. It's this rhetoric that directly leads to violence. Huffines joins Jimmy at 720. It's now 505 and looking at your money. Overnight futures are flat this morning after... Stephen Myron was confirmed to the Federal Reserve Board of Governors. Meantime, Lisa Cook is still on the board as federal appeals court yesterday blocked, at least for now, the president from immediately firing her over allegations of mortgage fraud. The Federal Reserve does begin its September meeting today. It's expected to cut interest rates tomorrow. but it'll be a hawkish cut at best. Inflation's still running a bit hot, so a cut might not be the right move. And should also be continuing to speed up the drawdown of its balance. And that is part of the reason why we continue to deal with higher inflation rates. Economist Joel Griffith says a politicized Fed would be dangerous, and the solution is simple. Rain in government spending. Those borrow dollars have to either come from the private sector or have to come from the printing presses of the Federal Reserve.

That is what truly sparks inflation. He says the Fed needs to step in and make sure we avoid that path. Andre Parrard, News Radio 740, KTR8. It is now 506. And I guess the reason why it stresses me out is it exposes me to idiots, basically, it exposes me to material that makes me upset. Now, I would, you're probably saying, well, then they'll get off of social media. Oh, if only I could. See, that's considered part of my job is social media. So it's not a stressor that I can get away from. As soon as I can. As soon as I don't do this anymore, whenever that day may be, if that day ever comes, that's the first thing I'm going to do. I'm getting off social media. Of course, maybe it will implode by then I can only hope. But it's interesting here. Modern stressors, the things that stress us out the most are things that didn't exist back in the day. Number one, cyber criminals. Bad actors gaining access to your personal information. Ten years ago, did you even know what a cyber criminal was? Well, maybe 10 years ago, but 15 or 20 years ago. All of social media came in second. That's me. You know, having to carefully curate the stuff that you shared, not to mention worrying about likes and comments and dealing with cyberbullings. I don't worry about cyber bullies. Number three, people taking pictures in public. People did not have a camera in their pocket all the time back of the day. Public filming can be invasive. Not everybody wants to be constantly photographed, even with friends. If you're a criminal, I would do, does having, I wonder, I don't think we have any criminals listening to our program this morning, this I hope not. But do you think criminals stress about video cameras?

Because video cameras are everywhere. I don't know how many crimes these days. Probably the vast majority of them get proof from video cameras and businesses catching them in the act. The news comes in number four. Number five, deep fakes. Number six is the first one we're going to run into. That is not just a modern day issue, but it's been around for as long as people have been around for the most part. Shaving? Shaving made the list of things that, that stress you out? Really? It's not that hard. If you don't feel like it, don't shave, right? Botox and lip filler came in number seven. Texting came in number eight on the list. Number nine, cleaning your inbox of all your old emails. And number 10, people who use the word literally all the time for no good reason. I literally find that stressful. Okay. You got anything you want to add to the list? What? What stresses you out? The thing that stresses you out the most, whatever that thing may be. But what you're referring to is this tropical wave that's halfway between Africa and the leeward.

Windward Islands and it does have a very a high chance of becoming a tropical depression or even a storm, Gabrielle, as you mentioned. Currently, it is going to remain over the open waters for the next several days, seven days, and kind of drift more northward. So it doesn't look like it's going to be impactful for the Caribbean at all. And even though it's over the Atlantic, this is kind of a similar track that Andrew, Hurricane Andrew took. So even though it is showing a northward inclination, we really do need to continue to monitor it in case it decides to move in a more westward direction at some point. We'll keep an eye on that. The Senate fast-tracked Stephen Myron's confirmation so he can take part in the session. It is not clear how long Myron will remain with the Fed. He is taking an unpaid leave of absence from his White House position. An appeals court blocked the president's effort to oust Fed Governor Lisa Cook ahead of the meeting. That case is likely headed to... the Supreme Court. Optimism that the Fed will announce an interest rate cut tomorrow gave the stock market a Monday boost. The major averages posted gains ranging from a tenth of a percent to nine-tenths percent. The NASDAQ and S&P 500 settled at record highs. Friday, they decided to just shut one down after afternoon drive. It's a horrible piece of road, and it needs to be fixed. And if you're going to close a road, this is my rule when I become the Supreme Commander of Traffic. You have to work on it 24 hours a day. You have to be working on it. At the very least. Here's Dan Bongino yesterday getting asked about all this by John Roberts. Did anyone in that crowd aid or assist this assassination? Well, that's what we're looking into now, Bill. Obviously, we have a suspect in custody. It's quite clear. It's why I'm here discussing this individual. However, if this was a larger effort, there was any aiding and abetting, whether it be financial, whether it be someone who knew the specifics of it and failed to report that. As you heard the director say this morning, we as an FBI, our team, along with our state and local partners are looking into that. We have a lot of technical capabilities, a lot of good investigative capabilities.

where we can scrub that entire network, whether it's OSIN, open source intel, through social media that people posted publicly. We'll be looking at that. We'll also be dropping a lot of paper, a lot of subpoenas out there to take a look to see if there was any extended network. But I want to be clear. There are things I can say, as you well know today and things I can. I want to get ahead or jeopardize the investigation. But what I can share with you, Bill, I will. We are clinging to transparency here. This is, you know, the era of the, you know, Cronkite and Jennings generation is over. New media now is media. And we want to be sure we can do everything in our power and do everything in our power to share what we can, when we can, while still balancing the needs of the investigation. Okay, I heard Kash Patel 90 minutes ago in our program. And we'll get to just a couple of things that he made news on. But first, I'm going to drill it on this. Is there any connection at all between the person who was asking the question about mass shooters and trans killers? Or was that just a stunning coincidence when that single shot was fired? Well, we're investigating that. I don't want to say conclusively right now, if there was a connection or not. It sometimes, I mean, Charlie was known to speak out about these issues. He was a powerful voice. It's not terribly uncommon for him to get questions like that. However, we are looking into that. Okay. So we got no answers on that. We now know that DNA evidence linked Robinson to the shooting and reports say he confessed to killing Kirk on Discord. People on the left though continue to lose their job for celebrating Kirk's death and now a TV reporter in Illinois quit her job after being suspended for this pro-Kirk statement on air.

One of my favorite saying is that Charlie would always tell us at the office. He would yell it from the mountaintops. So please listen. When conversations stop happening, when individuals become wordless. That's when violence begins. Benny Ray Harmony says she's the first to be targeted for honoring Kirk on air. Now, the radical left continues to get ugly about this with social media posts calling for the assassination of other prominent conservatives. Florida Congressman Byron Donalds says this is the result of the left. dehumanizing political opponents. This is not the country we were founded to be. This is not a country that can survive another 250 years if you have elected officials, no matter how much you disagree with them, feel they have to go higher private security to feel safe. We are better than this. Among the targets, according to social media, commentators Matt Walsh and Ben Shapiro, podcast host Joe Rogan, and Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling. 604, another drug boat from Venezuela is taken out by the U.S. military. President Trump says a boat from Venezuela in international waters and transporting illegal drugs to the U.S. was targeted by a U.S. military strike. The president in a social media post says three men were killed on the boat. No U.S. forces were harmed. It is the second such strike in his many weeks. Garrett Halpern, reporting meantime ICE continues its expanded operations in Chicago. The power of law force under President. Trump is going to be used to get all the criminals, all the violent offenders, all the murderers, all the cartels, and all the domestic terrorists off our streets. Deputy White House Chief of Staff Stephen Miller, Texas Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett claims that ICE and police for that manner were, quote, born out of slave patrols. Former Texas State Senator Don Huffin says that's just crazy talk. Jasmine Crockett. should be arrested for inciting violence against legitimate law enforcement officers. Like I. They're enforcing the law. By the way, he's running for state comptroller and joins Jimmy at 720. Looking at your money, Dow futures are flat this morning after Stephen Miron was confirmed to the Federal Reserve Board of Governors. Lisa Cook is still on the board, even though or rather after a federal appeals court blocked Trump from firing her over mortgage rate allegations yesterday. The Fed is expected to... cut interest rates tomorrow. That said, Americans swipe their way to a new record in the second quarter with credit card debt climbing to $1.32 trillion. Wallet Hub's Chip Lupo says that the top five states with the heaviest debt are all Democrat states, but everything's big in Texas, too. Texas sitting on a total credit card debt of almost $124 billion.

That is good for number 16 on the list with the average credit card debt at over 8,000 a person. They're making a bigger deal out of this than this needs to be. Way bigger deal. And they still are trying. Several states have issued their own guidance about COVID-19 vaccines. since the FDA released its 2025-26 formula approvals on August 27th. You may remember when that came out, Robert F. Kennedy Jr.., and that came out? And the CDC made new recommendations about who should get the shot or who should be eligible to get the shot. And they basically said people over 65 with existing health problems were the only ones they were recommending to get the COVID-19 vaccine. They weren't recommending pregnant women and children to get the shot. And they would no longer be included on that list. Well, the states started having the blue states anyway. Some of the blue states started having just a conibption about this. So they have started to make their own rules. California, Oregon, and Washington have announced the formulation of the West Coast Coast Health Alliance, West Coast Health Alliance to provide evidence-based unified recommendations on who should receive immunizations. and where to get credible information on vaccine safety and efficacy. In other words, you can't count on the CDC and the federal government because Trump's running that. The three states will coordinate to release a shared, consistent immunization recommendation schedule in the coming week, so they haven't come out with it yet. What do you want to bet, though? They make the same recommendations that existed during the Biden administration. CDC. You got to think that's probably the case, right? Colorado, Pennsylvania, New York, they're going to come out with their own recommendations, Connecticut, Virginia, their health commissioner. signed a new statewide standing order allowing pharmacist to administer the vaccine to anyone 65 years of age and older and anyone between the ages of 18 and 64 with at least one underlying medical condition. I don't recall anything. The CDC guidance is a recommendation. It's not saying you can't give the shot to somebody who wants the shot, who requests the shot. So why do you need to come up with your own set of rules?

You know, we're seeing all these, some amazingly crude, rude, rude. violence, social media posting, including suggestions on who should be next after Charlie Kirk. And it's kind of like a who's who of people who are conservative and spoken out. You've got JK Rowling, for example, that's on the list. Joe Rogan. Here we have Ben Shapiro, Matt Walsh. I assume that part of the desire here, Zach, is to shut everybody up. Let's just shut up conservatives and make them fear for their lives. Yeah, unfortunately, I think that's exactly right. I think we've seen from the outrage over the past few days that many on the right have responded to this tragedy by calling for prayers, by doubling down on their commitment to free speech, and yet so many on the left have responded by violence, by mocking Carly Kirk's death. And I think that's really been eye-opening for a lot of people to see just how violent. just how disgusting many of those comments have been and how many people are willing to, if not resort to violence, certainly cheer it on in efforts to silence those who they may disagree with. Well, it's pretty obvious here that we're dealing in the case of Charlie Kirk's assassin. We're dealing with somebody who was radicalized. He was brought up in a conservative household by Mormon parents, you know, didn't seem to have anything out of the ordinary until the last.

four or five years of his life. And now we find out he had a trans boyfriend slash girlfriend and was a gamer and was texting people about what it is that he was going to do. Clearly, at the very least, if he wasn't getting financial support for his act, he was at least getting emotional support. Well, certainly. It certainly seems like many in his online community may have been cheering him on. There's reports that he was involved in different Discord chats, which is an online platform used to communicate. Certainly, he was radicalized in some ways because of the messages that were found in the bullet casings that were used when he assassinated Charlie Clerk. And let's be clear, that's what this was. It was an assassination. But again, I think what so many people have found so disturbing, obviously Charlie Kirk's assassination, very troubling, very disturbing, but the reaction of so many people, teachers, doctors, lawyers, members of the community that have cheered on Charlie Kirk's death, even in the face of recognizing he has a young family that now is without a husband, that is now without a father, the vitriol and the vileness in response to that. I think that's what many on the right, and frankly, many on the left have found so disturbing about this entire episode. I think those of us who still have a heart were really quite hopeful that Charlie Kirk's assassination would be a turning point, that the people on the far left would back down or back off. Clearly, that is not the case. They're doubling down on this, aren't they? Ready to put a little spin on your day? And that goes back to what I was saying just a minute ago, with so many on the left, perfectly fine with using violence or intimidation to try to suppress speech, suppress ideas they disagree with. And let's be clear, the fact that Carly Kirk, out of everyone involved in the conservative movement, the fact that Charlie Kirk. was the target of this, I think is really in and of itself disturbing because Charlie's entire platform was built on going into often hostile territory, simply to have conversations, simply to have debates about issues, important issues he cared about with people who like they disagreed with him on many of those issues. And so it's been said over the past several days that Charlie Kirk's assassination wasn't just an attack on Charlie Kirk. It was really an attack on the idea of free speech and the free exchange of ideas. And I think, unfortunately, that's exactly right. So, you know, I think the thing that made Charlie Kirk in particular dangerous to the left is where he did his work. He was on college campuses. He was changing young minds. He was changing votes in the voting in the ballot box. He was having that kind of an impact. So clearly he was the most dangerous conservative out there, I think, as far as the far left is concerned, don't you?

Well, certainly. And I think you're already seeing the results of that. President Trump said that he owes his victory in large part to Charlie Kirk, that Charlie was instrumental in mobilizing the youth vote. So absolutely, I think that is part of what infuriated the left. You know, it's ironic. I think we've heard over the past few days, you know, the Bible verse that what man means for evil, God can use for good. And I think we've seen that with a turning point saying they're getting records, numbers of requests for student chapters to be established, both at the collegiate and high school level. We've obviously seen massive turnout at memorials and rallies for Charlie Kirk. I think we'll see that again when his funeral comes up as well. And so I think as a result of this. tragic, inexcusable event, Charlie's message has been amplified in many ways that it likely would not have been had this not, in fact, have occurred. Our top story, Tyler Robinson appears in court for the first time today to face state charges in Charlie Kirk's murder. The liberal Washington Post reporting that Robinson confessed on the social media platform discord. I'm not going to confirm or deny that, except to say that you better believe that every FBI agent, and like I said, not just FBI, the state and local. ATF and the marshals are doing everything that we can to make sure that we get all the evidence that we can. Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche on Fox here at home, the Texas Education Agency is investigating some 180 complaints about teachers and negative comments about Kirk. And Kirk's assassination is leading to a legislative investigation in the state. The state's Republican leadership is putting a spotlight on the political extremism that has bubbled to the surface as select committee has been charged. with investigating what leaders call the dangerous rhetoric that's coming out of colleges. How anybody can defend a political assassination is beyond me, but it's occurred. State Senator Paul Bentoncourt says the goal is to find ways to protect the fundamental right of free speech on college campuses, and he says that includes making political gatherings safe and secure. Beth Myers, News Radio 740, KTR8. 633, President Trump announcing a crackdown on crime in the blue city of Memphis and says another Democrat city is next. Chicago's a great city. And we're going to make it great again very soon. And I think we can do that despite the tremendous size. He also sent a warning to the Democrat City of St. Louis. Now, this is the first time Trump has gone into a red state like this, and Senator Marsha Blackburn is on board. The National Guard is going to be appreciated, going to be welcomed. We want Memphis to be safe. It is a wonderful city. It has a promising future. And a big part of that is...

And so she may well be taking that bench nearly three years after an election that she may have won. Reporter Holly Hanson with the Texan says it's too little too late for Pierce who's been finding this for three years. 635, the State Board of Education moves ahead with a new social studies standard that dedicates more time to Texas history. Ensuring the Texas history, the greatest history of any state in the union gets passed on to future generations. J.P. Brian with the Texas State Historical Association says the proposal includes teaching Texas history to kids as soon as kindergarten. With school choice on the way here in Texas, once Texas woman quit her job as a CPA and started what she has called a smart school. Education expert, Gene Burke, tells KTHH there will be many more. I think it's going to be a great option, and I think we're going to see a whole lot more popping up. It's just such a better way to educate because it's more individualized. You've got these smaller classes. And she says the startup school in Arlington is a great example. And I think one of the parts of the people that are starting pod schools, micro schools, is they want to foster that love for learning. What? What? Yep, she compared the federal government plan to use militarized police forces in blue states, blue cities, to slave patrols that operated in the antebellum south. Don Huffines joins us. Former State Senator Huffines Liberty Foundation. He's also a candidate for comptroller. So what do you, I don't even know where to begin with Jasmine Crockett. I mean, just about everything that comes out of her mouth is outrageous. Hey, good morning, Jimmy. It really is. Unfortunately, this is also very dangerous rhetoric. It just is. I mean, these are law enforcement officers that are simply enforcing the law during their doing their job, and she's comparing them to slave traders. You know, I find that very disingenuous and dangerous, and that kind of rhetoric is what's leading to a lot of violence. I mean, the simple solution is for these people just to go home. I mean, these people are not forced to be here. They're here illegally, and we need to follow President Trump's America First agenda and deport them all. And that's what we need to be doing. They just need to go home. And as comptroller, I'm going to find out the answers that most Texans want to know, which is how much of our... State money are Texas taxpayers are spending on illegals that are here illegally in Texas. And my research, Helphine's Liberty Foundation, shows that it's $8 billion to $10 billion, just educating them. So, you know, we're going to find out those answers, and we're going to give those answers to the legislature, and we're going to do something about it. Is there anything that the state could do? If the state, a great state of Texas, wanted to say, we are no longer going to provide a free education for people who are here illegally, is there anything that would prevent them from saying no more free education? We're not going to do it anymore. We're not participating in this. Well, there are support cases that would have to be challenged, particularly a federal court case, for a Supreme Court. But the court's completely different than it was in 1982 when this court, when this was decided that Texas had to provide free education. But the first thing we've got to do is find out how much we're really spending. And it's not just on education. There are millions of ill-legals in the state of Texas, millions. And they're not just folks that have swimp. swam the river illegally, a lot of them are visa overstays, you know, work visas, tourist visas, and they come here and they don't leave. We need to find that out. We need to find out how many are in Texas Department of Corrections. How many can we send home? And we need to encourage them any way Texas can to self-deport themselves out of Texas. I guess finding them within the legal system is going to be a whole lot easier than just finding them in general if they've just sort of disappeared into the countryside. How do you suggest we go about trying to get to the bottom of this of how many illegals we actually have in Texas, where they are and what their status currently is?

Sure. Well, the first step is to do it in our education system. Whether it's higher ed or K through 12, we need to make sure that all schools do a proper accounting and figure out if the students in those schools and those campuses have proper paperwork to be there. Let's find that out, find out how many there are in there. And then we can approach Washington with a legitimate number. and say that we need to be compensated. Texas has been dealing with this for decades. And it's not what Connecticut deals with or Oregon or anyone else. We're a border state. We need to be compensated. It's simple as that. And that's going to be the first step that I'm going to do. But there are many other things. Look, illegals are really, really destroying the working class of Texas. It's really hard to get fair wages. out there when you have hundreds of thousands, if not millions of illegals in Texas working for half price. And that's not discussed near enough. You're right. You know. No, you're right. We need to get, we just need to encourage them and whether it's financially or any other way to go home. All right. Thank you, sir. Appreciate it as always. They have a per capita murder rate of 2,500 per 100,000. That's why it's the most dangerous city in the country. Trump has said the next two cities he'll send the guard into our Chicago and St. Louis. The man accused of assassinating Charlie Kirk appears in court for the first time this afternoon. Tyler Robinson, expected to be charged today on state charges in Utah County. In Spanish fork, in Charlie Kirk's assassination, with FBI director Kash Patel telling Fox News a positive match of DNA was found on evidence the killer left behind and that Robinson's family is talking. The FBI also doing a deep search of Robinson's digital footprints. Jeff Menasso reporting. Meantam, the Texas Education Agency has gotten 180 complaints about teachers posting anti-Kirk comments. That's going to be my mission. Adago apparently will explain more during a news conference later today. Republican candidate Marty Langton will join Jimmy at 7.50. Remember that lawsuit over the botched 2022 election in Harris County? While it might be on the verge of a surprise ending, thanks to the sitting judge. There was supposed to be a due over election between Republican Tammy Pierce and Democrat incumbent Deshaun Jay Jones, but now Jay Jones is stepping down. Jay Jones told Pierce's attorney that he would not run in a due over election, and so the only eligible candidate in that election is Republican Tammy Pierce. That's reporter Holly Hanson with the Texan. So what happens now? The governor of Texas can appoint a replacement to fulfill the unexpired term. We know that Tammy Pierce has applied for that. And the governor of Tennessee knows it and is more than willing to accept the help of President Trump yesterday. there was a press conference, well, sort of an impromptu press conference. President Trump was sort of signing his... whatever that piece of, the executive order, I guess, is what he signed to send federal help to Memphis, including the National Guard, in order to be able to do in Memphis what they've done in Washington, D.C. Chicago continues to resist. St. Louis may be on the list next, another crime-ridden city. But here's the president with Governor Bill Lee of Tennessee. This is a very important thing. We have to save our country from violent crime. So, Bill, yes, sir, Mr. President. First of all, thank you. Thank you. Thank you for your commitment for federal resources to the great city of Memphis. And it is a great city. And it has a great history and a great legacy. Nobody can even believe it. And they're going to plummet. It'll be one of your really proud moments. Now, their crime rate has gone down some, in fairness, in the first eight months of this year. But it's still high, especially for a city its size. Memphis is not a huge city, but it has a crime rate like it is a huge city. In 2024, for example, violent crime in late 2024, Memphis had one of the highest violent crime rates in the nation, 2,501 violent crimes per 100,000 people. That's astronomical. So needless to say, there's a lot of work to do in Memphis, Tennessee, and hopefully they have the same results there that they had in Washington, D.C. 740. Time for traffic and weather together. Yep, Dora otherwise knows Lina Hidalgo has decided not to run for a third term and claims that that was her position all along. Well, if that's the case, why didn't she make that announcement a long time ago? Marty Langton joins us, Republican candidate for Harris County, Judge. Do you buy the idea that she's dropping out on her own volition that she never intended to run for third term?

No, I don't, but I think she's done enough damage. First of all, thank you for having me out, Jimmy. You bet. I think she's done enough damage, and I don't think she's got anywhere else that she can go. This county is headed in the wrong direction, and everybody in here knows it. And so I don't buy it at all. Okay, I don't buy it either. I think this obviously comes for Rodney Ellis, who recognizes perhaps, that he couldn't possibly have a... weaker candidate for Harris County judge than Lina Hidalgo. So let's get her out of the way, I assume, is the strategy. And then I'm going to guess, Marty, that maybe there was a fear that if Lena was heading up the ticket that a Republican like yourself could actually beat her. Yes, that is absolutely what I think that she was afraid of. And listen, when you run on your record, it's pretty bad. When you've got an all-time high in a budget deficit, you've got crime that is still far too high, and you've got police that are still not getting taken care of. She is, and I can imagine, worried about somebody that's been in the community that delivers results. Enough of the rhetoric, enough of the social issues that don't have to do with the role of county government. start focusing on lowering property taxes, start focusing on transparency and cut out the corruption. It's time for Harris County to change, and it's being left a mess, but we're going to fix it. Yeah, well, it's going to be a mess for a while. She's still in office through the end of this next year, so it's not like this is happening overnight. But as you take a look at the field that is left, is there anybody that sticks out to you? Who do you think gets the Democrat nomination? Who do you think you end up running against? You know, I don't know at this point, but I'll tell you, it doesn't matter to us who it is that we're running against because what is clear, you can't have, continually have the same old retreaded politicians that have gotten us into this mess and have been in office that have not delivered results. And what our pain about is about is uniting people around a common goal, and that is to attack crime and to support public safety and to focus on. the budget and transparency and a focus on lowering property taxes. And I don't think there's anybody on the other side that can do that and that has a history of doing anything but the opposite. Especially on the lowering property taxes, but I don't think there's anybody on the other side who would even propose lowering property taxes. Even Lina Hidalgo is willing to say the property taxes are so high, she couldn't afford them. And this is a woman who's making, what, 150 grand a year or more? Yeah, I think a little bit more than that. I don't know what it is about her not working as a lot of Harris County residents and myself coming up. We're three and four jobs at a time to support my family. And for somebody to say that they can't afford to live on her salary is mind-blowing to me. Yeah, well, that's the difference between a professional politician and a professional who just happens to be running for office, right? That is correct. We are on the ground every day in the communities and what Harris County residents and what everybody has told us from everywhere we've been all over Harris County. They're ready to see a leader that leads, that is an adult in the room, that focuses on the issues and stops talking about all the things that don't make Harris County move forward.

And you see what's happening on a national stage with President Trump and coming in and helping out people that are asking for help in crime. And I heard your segment clear, and I credit Memphis for bringing in extra help and to clean up the city. Harris County has got to focus on the crime issue and has got to focus on supporting our law enforcement and our first responders, not just political talk. All right, Barney. Very good, sir.
