The energy department is buying millions of barrels of crude to replenish the strategic petroleum reserve, which was drained to historic lows under the Biden administration. Texas petroleum economist Carr Ingham says the SPR should have never been depleted in the first place. There's not much reason to have half of that or even a significant chunk of it, sending empty unless it's been drawn down for a viable purpose. It was not. We need to fill that thing back up again. Government back open, getting everything back up to speed, hopefully sooner rather than later. And after the 43-day shutdown, that simply did not have to happen. It's kind of interesting. We saw a lot of things happen between then and now. And among them, according to one of the losers in the shutdown fight, you do realize there are winners and losers when you have things like this, right? As much as they may not want to acknowledge that, the Democrats lost in a huge, huge way. They gave up, the Republicans gave up nothing whatsoever, which, of course, nobody was supposed to give up anything. It was just a clean CR. No additional spending allowed by the Democrats, no additional cuts allowed by the Republicans. It was just a plain, old, continuing resolution to fund the government at its current levels. But they made it a fight in which there had to be winners and losers. Well, the losers were the Democrats. very clearly, and that's why their party is splintering. And as they splinter, some of them, like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, I think it's pronounced incorrectly that way. I think it's Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, but it cannot be confirmed. She is now trying to gaslight the American people into thinking that things have gone so much better for her and her party that people want to join her democratic socialism. Kid you not. Listen to what Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is trying to sell now. I want to say this right now. I fully welcome Trump voters into our coalition. And I know that sounds crazy to some people, but just hear me out. I cannot tell you, it just happened to me like two weeks ago. I can't tell you how many times someone has pulled me aside and said either. I was once a big Trump voter and a Trump supporter, and I watched Fox News every day, but then I started to kind of expand my world and where I got information, and now I've learned, and now I've changed, and I'm with you, and I learn from you. You can't hear her making this up as she goes, can you? Or people who meet me. who are really big Republicans now, and they are shocked when they meet me because they're like, you are nothing like I was told you are. You're dumber than I thought you were. And you start to see the bog's turning that maybe everything that they had been told from this one channel or this one ecosystem. About liking capitalism and freedom? Speaking to JD Vance, since you brought up the vice president, he sat down last night with Sean Hannity and covered a wide variety of topics, including the rapid, rapid expansion of AI. Artificial intelligence is going to change the world. Make no mistake about that. It has already changed the world. I think we can really truly acknowledge that. But there is great concern that many people have that it is going to cost jobs. And we're talking about... potentially millions of jobs nationwide because it's going to replace what a lot of things that a lot of people, you know, are doing right now. And it's going to be done a lot more efficiently and a lot more cheaply for companies that choose to use it. And JD Vance wants to warn people off about those things. Don't fret about AI because people are just going to have to learn how to use AI. Now, on the AI issue, look, I understand why people are worried that, you know, if you have a robot doing that job, does it take away from a blue-collar worker who can do that job? Right now, the evidence that I see is that if we really lean into robotics and technology, it's going to raise everybody's wages and make everybody better off. The example that I often give is a bank teller's. If you go back to when the automated teller machine was invented, everybody said it was going to destroy the jobs of all the bank tellers. What actually happened is that today you have more people working in... bank telling than you did 50 years ago, they're doing different jobs. They're not just handing people money. They're doing different jobs, but they also have higher wages. So sometimes what technology does is it allows somebody to do something a little bit different to use their mind a little bit more than some of the rote tasks they might have been doing. And that actually means they're more productive. They get better wages and everybody becomes better off. So I don't think that we're going to ever eliminate the construction industry in this country just because you've got robots. What you're going to have is a lot of construction workers who are using those robots, who are directing those robots, who are actually able to do more with less because they're using technology to help them. You're always going to need construction workers in this economy, but I want their wages to go up. And I think if we lean into technology, that's what's going to happen. It's a strong argument that he makes. I'm not sure I buy it. And I like to buy things that JD Vance is selling. I think he's an exceptional speaker. I think he's an exceptional vice president and happy that he's a or was a senator. I'm not sure I buy all of that, though. People who, you know, people probably said the same thing back about manufacturing lines, you know, factories, automobile manufacturers and so forth. Well, you know, when the robots come, somebody has to run those robots. Yeah, and they did, but the robots are running the shop and the robots are making all of the parts and the robots are screwing things that men used to screw in and people lose jobs because of those things. I'm a little worried about that to be truthful and other things that AI does, including, you know, copyright. Reading. College students use AI to write their papers for them. They chat GPT of their papers for them. Well, guess what? People in the creative fields, people who are already using computers, for example, are not going to be able to keep up. Not even close with what the, I mean, AI can produce a 10-minute turn paper with six in-text citations and sourced and ready to go in, I don't know, how long does it take to print? 30 seconds. It takes hours and hours and hours for students to do it. Well, what's going to happen when it comes to the work world and AI can do those things that people used to do? He says it's not artistic. It is simply a bunch of ones and zeros, listening to some stuff, finding the commonalities, and then creating something. It's just hilarious, especially now that it's all over and Chuck Schumer is on his way out the door as minority leader. Yeah, the socialists and communists and the Democrat Party are coming for him and he is done. The old guard is out. The old left wing guard is out and the new communist wing is on its way in. Good morning. Bob Fran sitting in for Jimmy. It is 638 if you just join the show. And, you know, that shutdown, of course, led to a lot of really negative. consequences for a lot of people, including the SNAP recipients, I will not make the same mistake that many of our elected officials have and say that there are 42 million hungry Americans that weren't getting their benefits because there weren't. The reality is, of the 42 million who are taking money and benefits for food and, you know, supplemental food, millions of them were illegal aliens and others were simply not allowed to be on the program. What do we know? We know this. Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins revealed this just Wednesday that the SNAP program currently paying benefits pays them to dead people. In just the 29 states that reported, you know, their demographics and their recipients and so forth to the federal government upon request by the Department of Agriculture, 29 red states reported, and there are at least 5,000 individuals who are dead who are receiving SNAP benefits. And I'm sorry, but the nutrition program isn't going to help you when you're already dead. And then 500,000 more are receiving them how? and 20 plus others did not, and we're suing, we're in a litigation right now. But of the 29 that complied, what we have found is staggering. Half a million people getting benefits two times under the same name. Double benefits going to some recipients who are not even using a different name and committing fraud that way. They're just applying for their SNAP benefits under their name and they get their benefits and then they go and apply again and they get them again. And that's just in the 29 states that were.

responded to the Department of Agriculture's request for information. The other 21 states that you heard are referring to there at the beginning are blue states that simply refuse to comply with the request because they know they are feeding more illegal aliens in those blue states, sanctuary states with large sanctuary cities than we can even imagine. probably way more dead people receiving benefits in those states, and certainly way more people ineligible, either because of double filing like you just heard, or because of... their work status. In other words, they are work eligible, they are able, and they are choosing not to work. They are choosing not to get a job, and they're just living in a lifestyle off of the largesse of the U.S. taxpayers. So those 21 blue states will not even comply. Two of those blue states sued the federal government for even asking the question about illegal aliens and people who are not eligible to be on Medicaid and food stamps or the SNAP program but are. So, yeah, the whole thing is just rife with fraud, and it needs to be completely blown up and reimagined. And I've got an idea how that can look, and I'll talk about it later. about the end of the shutdown and the end of the quote unquote snap problem. I said I would come forward with a reimagining of the snap program, and I want to deliver that real quick. If the whole thing has to be blown up. That doesn't mean we don't give assistance to actually needy people anymore. It means the whole thing needs to be blown up because of all of the fraud and waste and abuse that is in it right now. I think they need to completely abolish it and then start funding the states only after the states can actually set up the in each state should have to do the same thing. And that is set up proof. Number one, proof of citizenship. No illegal aliens can get snack benefits from the American taxpayers. Two, proof of identity with photo identification, just like you would need if you were, you know, opening up a bank account or anything else. If we're talking about commerce like this and we're talking about the people's money, you have to prove you are who you say you are. Number three. we need to make sure that if you do have a claim of elderly persons or children in the home that you can't work, that's why you can't work because you have to care for them, there needs to be medical documentation of the same for whether it's children or elderly parents. And then finally, the most important one is what are we giving them? The SNAP program is giving all kinds of, we've seen story after story after story of all of the luxury items that are provided to people who are on food assistance. People on food assistance in many cases are filling their carts with better food than the people who are paying for them, talking about the other taxpayers who are working. Are you ready for this? MREs, they're good enough for our military. They are good enough to provide enough calories twice a day for everybody. And it should be a temporary situation for everybody. Use meals ready to eat the same thing that our troops eat and make sure that everybody is healthy. Remember, this is supposed to be a supplemental. assistance. The SNAP program is nutrition assistance, and that is enough assistance. You don't need to be buying everybody cakes and ice cream and lobster and everything else, especially when we are a nation and as much dead as we are. Bob, good morning to you. How are you? We're good. Thanks very much. I'm really good when I hear stories like this. Promises made and promises kept. President Trump talked about restoring America's energy independence. And a big move, some announcements were made on Wednesday by the Energy Department. What can you tell us? Well, the big announcement this week, I think, was that the president of this administration, announced by the Secretary of Energy, are putting barrels back into the Strategic Petroleum Reserve. This is a store of crude oil.

that the United States of America designated decades ago to keep on hand in case of a supply emergency. And by supply emergency, I mean, a supply shock of some sort. This could be a major weather event. This could be a major geopolitical event that disrupted supplies of crude oil flowing into the United States. And by the way, we import much less crude oil than we used to. But this Strategic Petroleum Reserve was drawn down, I thought, extremely improperly by the Biden administration, drew it down to historically low levels, really for the purpose of pushing prices of gasoline and other. products down in an election year, which is 2022. And now the president is adding barrels back into that strategic petroleum reserve, buying those barrels from U.S. producers. And by the way, getting that a bit of a discount now because prices are lower in 2025 than they were in 2024. Yeah, I recall a lot of people in your position and those who were in the know how incredibly irresponsible it was for President Biden to do this simply to try to control gas prices that had spiked only because of their energy policies in the first place. Putting gas national average at one point in 2021, I think or as early 2022, at over $5 again. I think $5.1 penny per gallon nationally. And they had no way to bring them down. So they just went ahead and tapped into the reserve, putting us. quite frankly, danger, right? Well, that's exactly right. I mean, you just don't want to get caught flat-footed with an event that would occur that the Strategic Pretorium Reserve was designed to mitigate against for U.S. consumers. And you're exactly right. I mean, it is true that COVID made a mess of things. It made a mess of markets in virtually every sector of society and oil and gas being one of them. This was in 2022, and we did have price increases. We had Russia invading the Ukraine early in the year. And again, one of those geopolitical events that, you know, we're trying to guard against with the petroleum reserve. And so most of us just thought... Let markets do what they do. Let prices incentivize Texas and U.S. producers to produce more and bring it to the marketplace. That's what we do extremely well. And we do it better in Texas anywhere else. Let markets play out and bring production back up and leave that petroleum reserve alone.

Yeah, probably didn't help matters when he was promising all of these EV mandates. We're going to be any more, you know, gasoline powered engines and so forth, whether they be lawnmowers or anything else of that matter. So the futures, of course, were affected by that as well. So it was really, really irresponsible. And then that strategic reserve got depleted. And now it is time to refill it. So President Trump is taking great steps in that regard. It stepped up every single day to make sure that those individuals at our airports and in our transportation systems continue to be safe and secure while they went about their daily lives and limited. the impact on those families that relied so much on getting to where they needed to be on time. She handed out $10,000 bonus checks for agents who worked during the longest shutdown in history. Flight cancellations continue to ease. We have 20 out of Bush so far today, 15 out of hobby. Some lawmakers gave up their paychecks during the shutdown. Most didn't. And now we know that those members of Congress... made more than $20,000 apiece while many federal government workers either went without pay or were furloughed. 604 now, the Texas legislature held its first hearing about free speech on college campuses since the murder of Charlie Kirk and found out that liberal colleges continue to censor free speech. The killing of Charlie Kirk has led to an increased interest in his conservative activist group, Turning Point USA. But in Texas, some new chapters say they've been waiting months to be approved by public schools. I think that's an overstep by administrations, especially publicly funded ones. The group's Ricky Adam tells lawmakers that at one school in Colleen, a counselor ripped up students signs as they tried to form a chapter. They were accused of spreading hate, he says. Members of a special committee on free speech have vowed to get

to the bottom of what happened there and elsewhere. That is our Rex Oates reporting in college station. The A&M Board of Regents now requires campus presidential approval for courses that advocate gender or race ideology. It all stems from a student questioning a professor earlier this year. That professor was fired and challenged her firing with a panel saying academic freedom, the professors, was violated. 605, the Trump administration is moving to undo more bad Biden policy. Purchasing millions of barrels of oil to refill the Strategic Petroleum Reserve. Texas oil economist Carr Ingham says it's good for both the buyer and the seller. Producers are not very happy with the price of crude oil right now. It's a bargain for the government. It's a move that makes sense right now. So it's a good time to do that. And at the same time, it does provide a little upside support potentially. Other economic news, President Trump is frustrated with Republicans' lack of vocal support for what he's done. It's continued growing even after the media's doom and gloom. The SMP is up 18% this year, so it's great for people's 401Ks. Economist Elizabeth Ames says, though, inflation hasn't fallen as much as hoped, which is worrisome. Part of the reason why it's been ignored, too, is because Trump's getting so much done. People's heads are spinning, so you can't focus on the achievements because he's doing so many things on so many fronts that the average person doesn't know what to focus on. She says, though, they're still concerned. over the national debt and over spending. Andre Parrard News Radio 740, KTRH. Americans are still feeling the effects of Biden inflation, but Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent says relief is coming. We got the tax bill passed on July 4th, which gives huge incentive to come to the U.S., build your factory, expense it immediately, and create American jobs. He says those due jobs are going to lead to real wage growth for hourly workers. And don't get rid of those pennies in your pocket just yet, especially if they just happen to say 2025 on them. You're noticing a lot of hype around 2025. pennies and the prices on them have gone up. Joe Hegey with Texas coins, the U.S. Mint stopped making the penny this week. And the name that is still on the lips of Democrats everywhere in the wake of their shutdown, the Chuck Schumer shutdown, is Jeffrey Epstein. They got nothing.

They got nothing because they lost in the shutdown, showdown. And so the only thing they can do is try to pivot the conversation and try to implicate Donald Trump into something nasty. The problem is they continue to lie. And now they are worried about what the ramifications of those lies are going to be. The DNC removed a social media post, alleging that Donald Trump spent Thanksgiving of 2017. while he was president with Jeffrey Epstein based on misinterpreted emails from some of the newly released documents by House Democrats. Evidence, including White House logs and media reports, confirmed Trump hosted a family gathering in Mar-a-Lago in Florida with no Epstein involvement at all. The incident amid partisan fights over Epstein files prompted a lot of backlash, as you can imagine. So did this. CNN so desperate to try to implicate Trump in something reprimand. but also knowing that if they say it wrong he's going to sue them into oblivion listen to them make sure to walk everything back And having a little bit of a glitch with the audio you're here. Let's try it one more time. Dean that mentioned the president. And we do want to be clear, the president, Trump, did not receive or send any of the messages, which largely predated his time as president. He's not been accused of any criminal wrongdoing in connection with Epstein or Maxwell. He's not accused of any wrongdoing with any of those people, but we're going to continue to try to link his name with them. It got even worse on MSNBC with Pepperman Patty. I'm sorry. If you've never seen a picture of Pepper and Patty from the Peanuts cartoon next to Jen Saki, the former White House Press Secretary, see it. Look it up. Do it. You will never see her the same. So Pepperman Patty, sometimes nicknamed Propaganda Patty for obvious reasons. Watch what she did. In supporting what Donald Trump is doing. You're talking about the other predators out there in addition to Trump. What? What? The other predators in addition to Trump, did you just call Trump a predator? Is that what we heard? I'm not saying he is. We don't know all the details about that. I just mean in addition to what we've learned about. She couldn't have stammered over that any faster. I didn't mean to say he was one because he will sue them just like he sued CBS and won $16 million. He's going to sue the BBC for editing his speech at the ellipse on January 6, 2021 to make it sound like he called for people to go down there and start fights. But yeah, the press is doing everything they can and the leftists. in Congress and doing everything they can to change the subject from the shutdown in which they got their kicked to Jeffrey Epstein. And none other than Democrat and liberal voter and commentator Stephen A. Smith is among those ripping the Democrats for their hypocrisy since they had control of the DOJ and could have released anything they wanted about Jeffrey Epstein for four straight years and did nothing. They're going to try to screw up a lot of the great things the President of the United States has done over the past 10 months. Again, trees that have been planted, some of which won't even bear fruit for a few years.

I don't want the Democrats to screw that up. So we're going to win the midterms. We're going to do everything that we can to win the midterms. And then after that, I'm going to sit down with the President of the United States and talk to him about it. But let's focus on the now because we've got well over a year to do as much as we can for the American people. And my attitude, Sean, is, look, if we do a good job, the politics will take care of itself. If we do a terrible job, the politics will take care of itself in the other direction. So I'm just going to focus on the job that I have. I'll tell you a little secret, not that it's really a secret, but before JD Vance even became known politically. He was known for his book and his movie Hillbilly Elegy. And what an extraordinary success story that was coming from, you know, family that was racked by drug addiction from his mother and dirt poor in Appalachia and, you know, rose up to, you know, end up becoming the United States Marine, then going to college, going to Yale and all the rest. When he was known for that, but politically he was a nobody. When he decided to run for Senate in the state of Ohio back in 2022, and the first I was covering him. He was starting for Senate from Ohio, and I was covering this. And from the very first time he stepped on a debate stage, I said this, and I said it on the radio the next day, that man is going to be running for president someday. He has very, very lofty ambitions. And I could tell by that, at that point, like I said, the first debate, he was so much smoother than everybody else on that stage, including the current senator from Ohio, which is Bernie Moreno. And of course, Bernie Moreno just beat Sherrod Brown last year to take this office. But JD Vance was just amazing, even as a first-time candidate, as a first-time politician having a debate on a stage. And I said at the time, and I should probably pull the audio at some point, but I said that man is running for something much bigger than Senate. I didn't think it would come this fast, neither did he, that Donald Trump would tap him to be his vice president in 2024, you know, November of last year. sit and now he is in prime position to be the Republican nominee to take the baton from from President Trump and be the standard bearer for the Republican Party and I felt serious about it when I said it I just didn't think it would happen this fast but boy oh boy it's really really really playing out just you know just as I envisioned just on a much faster track but he's smart to say we're focusing on the midterms because he's also right about this if the president loses Meaning if the Republicans lose the midterms and the president cannot advance the full America First agenda that he ran on and the Democrats spend the last two years of his term putting him in hearings and impeachments and impeachments and investigations and so forth, there's a very good chance that no Republican will win in 2028. The Energy Department is buying millions of barrels of crude to replenish the strategic petroleum reserve, which was drained to historic lows under the Biden administration. Texas petroleum economist Carr Ingham says the SPR should have never been depleted in the first place. There's not much reason to have half of that or even a significant chunk of it, sending empty unless it's been drawn down for a viable purpose. It was not. We need to fill that thing back up again. If you're just tuning in this morning, it is a Friday, the 14th morning of the 11th month in the year of our Lord 2025. And the shutdown is over, but the ramifications of it continue to linger. The flights are still delayed. About a thousand more flights are being delayed. And they're trying to ramp everything back up and get back up to working speed. That may take a little bit of time. The other thing, and I want to re-reve, visit this, I talked about it last hour, they need to ramp up the supplemental nutrition program again, the SNAP program, because 42 million people we were told didn't get their food and their money for food on time in this month because of the shutdown. Well, now that they're back open again, they're starting to dole that money out again, but who they're given it to? According to multiple reports, specifically one from the Department of Agriculture, they're giving it to dead people. Wait, what? They're giving snap to dead people? Yeah, at least 5,000 of them in 29 states that actually reported. This is the Secretary of Agriculture, Brooke Rollins. 20 plus others did not, and we're suing. We're in a litigation right now. But of the 29 that complied, what we have found is staggering. Half a million people getting benefits two times under the same name. 5,000 dead people. 80% of the able-bodied Americans, meaning they... can work. They don't have small children at home. They're not taking care of an elderly parent. They can work and they choose not to work, of course, because they're getting significant benefits from the taxpayer. So this light, Laura, that has now been shined on what is perhaps one of the most corrupt dysfunctional programs in American history that we are working now. Very big announcements coming next week on this. We are cracking down. We now have a plan to fix it. And we're really, really excited about doing that for the American people. I'm so looking forward to seeing what that plan is next week because what she just said is outrageous. And just to, again, put the context around that, 29 states responded to the Department of Agriculture's request slash demand for information about the recipients in each of the 50 states. And only 29 responded. All 29 of them are believed to be red states. And even in the red states, 5,000 dead people getting snap benefits from my paycheck and yours. Everybody who pays taxes is funding this. And the money is going to accounts of dead people. Who's actually taking that money and what are they doing with it? Then 500,000 people receiving it twice under the same name. You understand that? That means they're not even trying to be tricky with their fraud and saying, I'm Joe Smith, give me snap. And then going later and registering as John Thomas, give me snap. They're using the same name and getting it twice because they don't care. The states that are issuing these are not monitoring very closely to see who is eligible and who is not. And those are the red states. Can you imagine how much worse it is in the 21 blue states that rejected the request from the Department of Agriculture for their records?

21 blue states will not show them because the number of illegal aliens that are likely receiving these benefits is going to be in the millions. They wouldn't even respond. And two of them, that's what Brooke Rollins referenced at the beginning of that clip, two of them filed a lawsuit against the Department of Agriculture for even asking. The SNAP program needs to be completely shut down, dismantle it, and start over with new ideas. I had some ideas earlier. We may talk about them again. 7-11 now. Let's do traffic and weather. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, of course, was who was terrifying Chuck Schumer during the entire shutdown, according to those now engaged in the Civil War on the left. She's going to run for the Senate. She's probably going to take Chuck Schumer's spot. Chuck Schumer is on his way out, but he's on his way out of the minority leadership position before that. And the question is who could possibly take his place? The options are not great. Joining us now is Amanda Head, White House correspondent for just the news. Amanda, good morning. Good morning. Thanks so much for having me. Happy Friday. Yeah, same to you. I appreciate you being here. So I think most people who are watching this closely realize that Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who is an avowed socialist, especially after the Democrats in New York City just went full socialist for a Zohran Mamdani, feel like she is the future of their very, very far left party. But the immediate future doesn't look good for Chuck Schumer either. The Civil War is going to cost him his leadership position, it would appear. What are the options, Amanda? Oh my gosh. Well, they're not great. And let me just say for Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, you know, there's a lot of talk out there, I feel like, amongst the youngest generation of both sides, of, of, of, conservatives and also liberals. And they talk about you shake politics. So you've got Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez out there saying, I welcome MAGA into the party. Okay, I'm sorry. What part of your platform do you think is appealing to MAGA? Is it the abolish ICE part of your platform? Is it the defund the police, the Green New Deal, Medicare for all, the wealth tax that she has supported, abolishing the electoral college? federal jobs guarantee. She thinks that housing is a human right, free public college. I mean, there is nothing in her platform that appeals to most of MAGA. Maybe there's some fringe elements of MAGA that subscribe to something along that list. But the bench is so short for Democrats. And you know, this is something President Trump has talked about. Anytime anyone asks him. about a potential contender for 2028, the list goes on and on and on. But when it comes to Chuck Schumer and I am hearing murmurings that he's not going to, he's not going to run for reelection in 2028. And you got to just know, Bob, that he's reading the tea leaves. And he's seeing a party move further and further away from everything that he has stood for for the last, by the way, over 50 years. It's time to go, Chuck. That's pretty wild. It is time to go. There's no question. Amanda Head is our guest from Just the News. She's White House correspondent. Yeah, you know, he's been there far too long, and the party has just gone far too left. Like I said, you know, not that he was ever anything close to a moderate, but he was not a socialist. He was not a communist. And now that particular flavor of liberalism has taken over.

in the form of Zohran Mamdani, and obviously we've had Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez there for a while now. Some of the names that have been floated as a potential minority leader, if they do indeed run him out are Hawaii's Brian Shats, Wisconsin's Tammy Baldwin, Minnesota's Amy Klobuchar, and New Jersey's Spartacus, Cory Booker. Any of those seem more likely or less to you to be the standard bear for the minority leader position? You know, when I look at that list, I feel like Amy Klobuchar is kind of the one who, you know, if this is a Goldilocks scenario, it's not too hot, it's not too cold, she's kind of right there in the middle. She's not Chuck Schumer, but she is younger and... somewhat fresher and she's a woman and when it comes to the democrat party right now checking off boxes matters to people um not necessarily what they believe or what they want to do or even their capability to do what they want to do but she does check off one of those all important boxes and she she i think is much more palatable to whatever remaining reasonable Democrat base they have left. Most of them have left and they either don't participate electorally anymore or they have left because they said, look, I'm looking in my rear view at the Democrat Party and looking through my front windshield and it looks like Republicans picked up a lot of the policies that I used to see over it with the Democrats. So I don't know, you know, I think that she probably has a better shot at getting a stronger coalition. then one of the more radicals. But at the same time, Bob, I mean, Democrats aren't stupid. They're looking at the future of their party and they have to know the direction it's going. I'm sure that they will fight it. But you look at the young folks who and the things that they believe moving closer and closer to socialism and that's who that's who their party appeals to. Axios poll from last week, I'm sure you saw it too. 67% of college students either have a positive or neutral position on socialism. 40% of those college students had a positive or neutral position on capitalism. So yeah, that tells you where the party is headed and maybe, obviously, where the younger generation is headed. Even though Gen Z came out strongly for Trump in November, you know, that might be shifting because of the ongoing indoctrination in these colleges. Yeah, I would like to think that the reason for that Gen Z shift was because they liked the policies of Trump. I honestly think a lot of them just wanted to burn the system down. And I think that they have been failed by their education system. And that's why they have no idea what socialism looks like when it is carried out to its furthest extent. There's a video that's flying around. It's gone viral. It's images of... of women who have been brutalized by socialism and particularly by Islamism, which of course is all reflected in Zohran Mamdani, this red-green axis of evil, quite frankly, that is making its way through the party, has indeed claimed so many victims, particularly women. And yeah, you're right. They don't know what they're asking for if they embrace socialism and if they are not on guard against the rise of Islamism.

The DOJ is now looking for the suspect who attacked the office of New Jersey U.S. attorney Alina Habba with a baseball bat. We know who did this to Alina Habba. I saw the video. It's chilling. This guy had a full-sized baseball bat pacing like a caged animal in front of her office. Attorney General Pam Bondi, they are more judicial activism. A Biden-appointed federal judge orders the release of hundreds of illegal alien detainees in Illinois. In Chief Border Patrol, Gregory Bovino says this is outrageous.

What's happening there is it's beyond the pale. That's a very corrupt system in Chicago, whether it's those elected leaders like J.B. Pritzker or those out-of-control judges. I think for most moderate Americans, he stood up to the socialist wing of the Democrat Party, which, by the way, has now taken over the Democrat Party, and he has earned the enmity and the scorn of a lot of Democrats because of it for simply being reasonable, simply for saying, you know, We should pay our bills. We should open the government and pay our bills. We can negotiate health care, but we cannot shut everything down. And the Democrats hated that. The Democrats seem to want to get him to be something he's not. I want you to listen to this exchange with Katie Couric. Katie Couric. is desperately trying to bait John Fetterman into saying something horrible and negative about the late Charlie Kirk. And John Fetterman will not bite, much to her anger and dismay. Listen. Flag should have been flown at half staff. Do you think his body should have been flown on Air Force, too? Do you think he should have posthumously be given the Presidential Medal of Freedom? I think some people felt that that was perhaps. over the top in terms of mourning someone like Charlie Kirk. Some people is code for I. That's what she means to say. I hated Charlie Kirk and I think it was over the top. How did you feel about that? I'd say that that was his choice and his prerogative. And that's where that's and that was really entirely up to him. Did you have any issues now in hindsight over some of the things that Charlie Kirk said and some of the rhetoric he used during his life? I didn't agree with much of it. I didn't closely followed his specific kinds of views. But I did. I'm sure you learned about them after his death, though. Uh, no, I haven't done it. She's desperate to get him to say something negative because she hated him so very much because she is one of the most hateful, vile people in the history of American media and journalism. Deep dive on it. You know, I described, I mean, we've all seen that terrible video. Perhaps if you've seen the actual video, I have. And it's like appalling. And that's part of the political violence. And from what I'm saying, it's, it's like, that's unacceptable. And engaging in a debate and views, I strongly.

disagree on that's part of the American democracy and for me it's that would never justify what's happened and i just chose not to take the opportunity to argue his views after uh after children lost his father in the most violent public way i mean so that's i would say the equivalent the equivalent on the left might be say mr Hasan Piker i strongly disagree with his views but i would i'm appalled if if something like that happened to him oh my god i mean that's you know like we have to We have to disagree in better ways where, you know, you're going to solve it by shooting people. And that's why the kinds of rhetoric, we have to turn the temperature down. Extreme rhetoric makes it easier for extreme reactions or to justify them. John Fetterman has become the voice of reason in the Democrat Party. And because of that, the Democrat Party is trying to rid themselves of John Fetterman. They want no reason. Yeah, so Sky Mike asked what's coming up after him, and I want to give you a little bit to close the show from United States Senator Bernie Moreno, his senator from Ohio. I had a chance to talk with him yesterday about the path forward because the shutdown is the shutdown and it is now the past. But what was the shutdown over for the Democrats? Two things. One, political power. They had to show going into the midterms that they're big and they're tough and they stood up to Orange Man Bad. So it was a political shutdown, but it was also over the broken Obamacare system. Obamacare failed, period, Americans. It was never the Affordable Care Act. It was always unaffordable, and it was designed to be so, so that eventually it would be so bad, nobody could pay for anything. They would beg the government to...

rescue them. And the only way they could do that would be with what? A national health care system. That means socialized medicine, single-payer health care. So this is all about health care. And if we are to blow up Obamacare and replace it with something better, it's going to take some time. What do we do about it come January when the subsidies expire? I asked that question of Senator Bernie Moreno, and here's what he said. Senator Marino, what about the immediate future? Meaning, let's say that the three-point plan you laid out is the right plan. It's not something that can get done in short order. It certainly will not get done by December 31st. So when December 31st comes and the subsidies are not extended past that deadline and people's premiums do double or triple, which is what the Democrats have been warning. Again, it's their fault. They're the ones who made the decision, so they're warning themselves. But nonetheless, they are accurate in that regard. It will happen. So will there be any kind of a short-term fix to make sure people don't lose their health care coverage altogether because they can't afford premiums? Yeah, I think there's an appetite for us to extend the Biden-Obamacare COVID subsidies for one year to give that relief. But with those three modifications, meaning income caps restored. elimination of zero dollar premium and having the money go directed for health savings account, not check the insurance company. And I think we can pass that before Christmas so that the subsidies extend for one more year for the people and then take the next few months after that to actually pass a health care bill that delivers for the American people. It's not for sure. It's hard, but it's worth doing. Is it fair to say that Obamacare absolutely must die for health insurance in this country to become afford? It's funny. They call it the Affordable Care Act, and they say that with a straight face, but it is literally unaffordable. They admit, without taxpayer subsidies. So is it fair to say that it has to end for health care to actually recover in this country? Absolutely. We need to re-envision health care in this country in a way that actually delivers affordability. That Obamacare should have been called the Healthcare Enrichment, Health Care Company Enrichment Act. You've got to look at the stats, Bob. It's pretty startling. You look at the stock price of health insurance providers since 2014, and they outperformed any other corporation by magnitudes of like 10 to 20x. I mean, this enriched these companies in a way that you could never even fathom. So we need to fix it. We will fix it. Now that we have these eight Democrats that have understood that destroying the country is not what we get elected to do. We get it. We're Republicans who are Democrats. And I won't agree with everything that these guys do. Probably a lot of things that we don't do that we have disagreements on. But deliver... For those American people, everybody should rally around. The question about it. And here's the real kicker here to put a bow on this. They could have been negotiating a way to fix the premium problem.

and the deductible problem for the last 43 days, now 45 since it's over. But for 43 days, they could negotiate because they would not negotiate at the tip of a spear or at the business end of a gun. They weren't going to do that. But now that the government is open, they can sit down and start negotiating a way to make sure that health care is affordable in the short term when the subsidies end on January 1st and then work for a long-term solution.
