Mayor Jacob Frey was asked if he supports Abolishing Ice. I do not support Abolishing Ice. However, I absolutely oppose the way that this administration is conducting themselves with us. Turns out she was blocking traffic and calling the agents Nazis. Those protests, nothing but stunts. As are the visits to ICE detention centers by Democrats in Congress. DHS Secretary Kristi Noem now requires those lawmakers to give a week's notice before they visit those centers.

Her intent is to give ICE employees time to prepare for any Congress members coming to visit and to make sure that it's actually oversight activities that are being conducted and not a quote-unquote circus-like publicity stunt. Natalia Middlestat with Justa News says the Dems, well, they've tried to use lawfare to get around Kristi Noem's order. Closer to us, Democrats in San Antonio are all worked up over the increased presence of ICE agents there and any help, local police. offers those agents. What is SAPD's role in partnering with state and federal officials? As a Democrat City Council woman named Sukkour, there's a city council meeting next week about this. Here in Houston, Mayor John Whitmire has had issues with the radical left because of HPD's work with ICE. At the border, Texas Senator John Cornyn, in the middle of a rough primary campaign against Ken Paxton is sounding more MAGA at the border. During the trip, he called for the completion of the border wall, despite opposing it initially. He'll say anything in a heartbeat to get a vote. John Cornyn is from the old school Republican Party, the Amnesty Open Border Republican Party. That's Kenny Webster with our sister station AM 950, calling out John Cornyn's 20-year record on border security. John Cornyn is a guy who spent a lot of time helping get people into the country. The U.S. Supreme Court heard oral arguments in cases challenging a ban on boys playing girls' sports yesterday. Education Secretary Linda McMahon says this should be a no-brainer for the justices. The president clearly with his executive order stated that boys are boys and girls are girls and boys will not be allowed to play. in girls sports. The decision from the high court is expected in late June. Being in the courtroom did give me some pretty good insight and perspective, not only to hear, but to see the different reactions of the judges. I feel confident that we'll have at least five, if not six votes in favor of allowing states to have these laws that protect women's sports. Reaction from Jonathan Sines at Texas values. We no longer can define what man is or what a woman is. Anyway, I saw, we had a guest yesterday. I can't recall his name off the top of my head. But we had a guest on from the organization that is representing the plaintiffs in this particular case, the 27 states that currently make it against...

the law in order for men to compete in women's sports. They're the Alliance Defending Freedom. Their CEO, Kristen Wagoner, was on with Bacon Kelly and talked about day one at the Supreme Court and how things went. Let's just start with the court. I mean, I think overall, I agree with your take. 6.3 is probably the way it will result with some concurrences as well. I think that the argument went very well. I was surprised at... Well, maybe not surprised, but delighted by some of the ACLU's concessions. They essentially rolled back their arguments on Title IX altogether, even saying that the lower court decision that they won under was wrong. So that's great. I think that the bill was brought back on the fact that they refused to even define what sex is. So I'm not sure how you can find sex discrimination if you can't articulate. what sex is crazy put a pin in that audience because we are definitely coming back to that issue keep going and then i mean i don't know i'm really curious to see what you think about this and maybe it's because like we have been living these cases out from we started in about 2015 first big stuff comes up 2017 where two boys take 15 state championships um from girls so that's how long we've been in this and i've been with these female athletes you've interviewed him and We have the privilege of representing three that are in that case. And I want it so badly to just stand up and scream, why are we not talking about the women here? I don't want to hear about HECOx or BPJ. I want to talk about these girls. The nonsense when the lawyer for BPJ in the second case, this is a boy pretending to be a girl who wants the right to playing girl sports, and said, The one thing you really shouldn't do in your ruling, because he was sensing that they were going to rule against him. And now this lawyer has switched to, let me limit my loss here so that it's just these 27 states can uphold their ban. But don't touch my 23 that affirmatively allow this. And so I think it was it was it Elena Kagan or was it Ketanji Brown Jackson was like, tell us what not. to rule. Like, tell us exactly how we're supposed to rule so that we can sort of protect these other rights. And he was like, for the love of God, don't define biological sex. What? It's stunning, but that is their argument. I mean, you know, we've got to look behind the curtain and know what is at issue in this? It is about biological reality, and it is about erasing the differences between men and women, and that cannot happen on our watch. It cannot happen. If their entire case is built around not defining biological sex, I think, I don't think it's going to go well for them. these, you know, the ACLU arguing on behalf of these trans athletes, 526 here on Houston's morning news. He has, in fact, declared war on the Trump administration, which is completely inappropriate. He says Jerome Powell needs to go away in May and not try to stay on the board until 2028. The markets are watching for earnings reports from Bank of America, Wells Fargo, and Citigroup. The president wants to lower credit card interest rates to a max 10%. It's not going to be easy for him to do. Constitutional scholar Andy Trusovich says a presidential order can't force banks to play ball. A president can't make new laws with an executive order, but he can or she can implement an executive order of an existing law or a constitutional protection. There is no existing law limiting credit card interest rates, so it's up to Congress to work with the president on this. It's now 534. The Conroe Municipal Court judge arrested on a DWI charge last month at a campaign event last night, but he didn't want to talk about his legal issues. What did you mean, though, when you said you had a bad day? It's all in the statement, and there's a lot on that statement. You could read all of it. Judge Nick Wagner confronted by J. But it sounds like a woman, his screech is so high, caught on camera and given to TMZ for who knows how much money. Somebody caught that. And TMC has been airing it, and we're going to air it for you now so you can get the report. Actually, the report on what happened comes from WDIV Channel 4. in Detroit. The president also took a tour of Ford's Rouge complex where he got into a 10-6 change with a worker inside the facility in video obtained by TMZ. A worker on a floor below Trump can be heard shouting something that included the words, quote, pedophile protector. Apparently, of course, in reference to sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and the delayed, heavily redacted release of the Epstein files. The president is then seen pointing down at the worker, either mouthing or yelling the F word and the word you, and then giving the middle finger. Now, TMZ says the White House communications director sent them a response, which reads, quote, a lunatic was wildly screaming expletives in a complete fit of rage, and the president gave an appropriate and unambiguous response, end quote. In a statement, a Ford Motor Company spokesperson said, quote, one of our core values is respect and we don't condone anyone saying anything inappropriate like that within our facilities. When that happens, we have a process to deal with it, but we don't get into specific personnel matters, end quote. Well, I will. He's been suspended. The worker, the worker's been suspended. for what he did. You know, there are all political persuasions working at a place like Ford Motor Company. I mean, thousands and thousands and thousands and thousands and thousands, tens of thousands of thousands of employees just in Detroit alone. So, yeah, you're bound to have a few people like that. The fact that they went off from the president and the president responded, I don't have a problem with the president responding. I would prefer a response in a more appropriate way. rather than the FU and the finger, but I understand where it comes from. So I'm not going to make a, I'm certainly not going to make an issue out of it. But that brings me to our question of the day, by the way, Ford, Ford Motor Company, named the most iconic company in America. The cold front swings through at some point today. I haven't timed it out just yet, but it looks like maybe sometime this afternoon. And that's when the winds will start to pick up. For the most part, the winds will be in check, but we'll get some gusts perhaps up to around 30 miles an hour today. And that's going to bring in the cooler air that we have tonight and the cooler weather tomorrow. Here's the deal. The forecast is dry through the weekend, and every day the temperatures change, like dramatically change, not just warm up a little bit or cool down a little bit. Today is much warmer than yesterday, upper 60s to low 70s. Tomorrow. We cool down, upper 50s to low 60s. We'll warm up Friday near 70, cool down Saturday to near 60, and Sunday's a quiet day, and temperatures low to mid-60s, which that's what we expect in January. And there are several reasons behind it, not the least of which is how much the state has grown. How many more people live in Texas now than did before? It is amazing occupation. Are we not putting enough people through medical school? Are the rules and regulations, licensing regulations, too difficult? What do we need to do to fix the problem? We'll talk to Dr. Mary Talley Bowden about this. She's coming up next. First, though, traffic and weathered together. Well, we'll get to it in a second here. Are we frozen? No, we're unfrozen. A new accident causing some minor slowdowns on the Gulf Freeway heading northbound at telephone road. First responders have the two right lanes blocked off. You're also traffic free free over on a 10-minute drive from the North Sam Houston Tallway over to the North Freeway. There's a shortage of them. 5.52 is our time. Dr. Mary Talley Bowden joins us. We've talked to many times. A great physician, by the way, and a competent person to speak on this particular issue. How many doctors, you know, we talk about numbers of police and firefighters and when we're low on those numbers. And just in the city of Houston, for example, I think we're about, over a thousand police officers short. How many doctors short are we in the state of Texas, do you think? certain. There are 100,000 doctors in Texas, and you wouldn't believe this, but a quarter of those are trained in other countries. And from what I understand, they predict a 10,000 physician shortage in the next decade. I don't know what's going on. I have a friend that has been trying to get a license in Texas for over a year, so I don't know if the Texas Medical Board has some massive backlog.

But it is a big problem. They did pass a law that allows foreign medical graduates. to ease into our system much more quickly than they used to. They used to have to repeat their residency once they got over here. Now they have made it so they don't have to do that. They can just go straight into the system, which worries me. There's information out there saying that there could be fake licenses about. I mean, they've definitely seen this with the nursing situation. So that concerns me. Well, you know, we know that in some cases, you know, some of these foreign medical schools, for some reason the Caribbean comes to mind of places, you know, sort of these diploma mills putting, you know, people through the paces as far as getting some sort of a medical degree, that they're probably not at the same level of competency as we see here in the United States. So it seems to me we should be requiring more as far as testing of foreign doctors, not less. I completely agree. I completely agree. But yet the other factor to consider is AI. You know, Utah actually just allowed AI to provide refills for patient medications. So that's coming. AI is coming. I don't agree with it, but it is coming. That's scary. Yeah. That is really scary. I mean, just telodox are scary to me. Talking to some doctor in some other state doesn't know me from Adam. And I can tell them anything I want to about symptoms if I'm trying to shop for a medication, for example, and probably get a prescription for it. All right. I'm a huge believer in the physical exam that seems to have been gone by the wayside during, you know, the pandemic loosened everything on that regard. But there's a lot to be said for sitting in the room with a patient and, you know, even a face-to-face conversation is a lot better than just talking on the phone by far. Dr. Bowden, I want to ask you as well, we're talking about foreign doctors here, and I have absolutely nothing against foreign doctors. In fact, I would say that probably virtually all of my doctors right now, my heart specialist, several of my other doctors are foreign born, not born here in the United States. I don't see nearly as many typical American-born doctors as we used to see. Are we having fewer students going to medical school? And if so, why do you think that is? I don't think so. I believe it's just they haven't expanded the training. So, you know, they're just not growing with the population is from what I understand. But.

Yeah, you know, I don't have anything against them either. As long as they are very proficient in English, that's pretty important. And as long as they, you know, have valid training, I guess my concern is are we able to truly vet their training if they didn't train in the United States? And I'm guessing most of these Texas shortages are in rural areas, right? I don't know. I keep hearing from other patients that, oh, I can't get in to see somebody for months. I mean, it sounds like we're in Canada from the way people talk. Wow. Yeah, that's not good. That's not good. We don't want socialized medicine. I mean, we pay enough for health care that we should be able to see a doctor when we need to see them, shouldn't we? I completely agree. But either way, yeah, the insurance system is that people tend to gravitate towards that, which is understandable because they don't have to pay for it. But that system is flooded. The system I'm in, which is outside of the insurance system, you know, you have access to care very quickly. And there's a program called direct primary care. where it's basically like affordable concierge care. It's usually the cost of a gym membership, and you get much more access to your doctor. Now, you don't use your insurance, but you do get, you know, timely care. Usually you're seeing within a day or two of calling to need help. Yep, and well, if that's something you afford to do, that sounds like a good path to me. Dr. Bowden, thank you very much. Always good to talk to you. More protests in Minneapolis nearly a week after Renee Good was shot and killed by an ice agent after she apparently tried to run him over. The left does not learn, though. One protester was dragged for her car. She was blocking ice agents from doing their job. Of course, the protests are stunts. The same for lawmakers showing up at ICE detention facilities. But now they've got to give notice before they do. And it's because the Dems visits are just publicity stunts. Just showing up to these detention facilities, you're pulling ICE officers away from their normal duties, and it's a publicity stunt creating a chaotic environment with heightened emotions. That is reporter Natalia Middlestat with just the news. She says Noam tried to do this last year. Noam had issued a similar one back in June. This is a similar memo. Well, we mentioned that this could happen and now Democrats are saying the quiet part out loud. They might shut the government down at the end of the month over funding ICE.

Would you be willing to shut the government down when it comes to ICE funding like some of your Democratic colleagues have suggested? Well, listen, what I have said is that I can't see any way that I could provide more funding to an agency that is completely out of control. Minnesota Senator Tina Smith on CNN. President Trump announcing yesterday that the White House will stop federal funding to sanctuary cities and states beginning on February 1st. We are not going to, as a country, subsidize mass illegal immigration, mass criminal activity, and the mass theft of American taxpayer resources by individuals who have no right to be in this country at all in the first place. White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller on Fox among the Democrat-run cities affected are New Orleans. Closer to home, San Antonio Democrats are all worked up at the increased presence of ICE agents there. and any cooperation from police in their city, so much so that there will be a special city council meeting next week. We'll have a good conversation about what we're required to do, but making sure we're still keeping all members of our community safe. That is one of the Democrats on City Council named Sukkor. Remember, Houston Mayor John Whitmire, he's had issues with his radical left here over HPD, working with ICE. In a recent trip to the border, Texas Senator John Cornyn took a very strong stance on policy and what some are calling a desperate bid to win the endorsement of President Trump in the primary against Ken Paxton and Wesley Hunt. The only way John Cornyn is going to be able to get an endorsement from Donald Trump is if he is the deciding vote on something taking place in the Senate that could make or break Donald Trump's entire presidency. That is Kenny Webster with the Walton & Johnson Show with our sister station 950 KPRC. 605, the U.S. Supreme Court heard oral arguments in cases out of Idaho and West Virginia regarding their bans on men from playing women's sports. The Save Women's Sports case that's before the U.S. Supreme Court is going to be one of the most important decisions that they've made in quite some time. And it should be a simple decision and an easy issue for them. Jonathan Seines with Texas Values was in court during the arguments and says he's confident that at least five of the justices will rule to keep the pants in place. While the mainstream media is already telling you that Democrats will regain control of the House in November, ignoring Democrat and their really low approval ratings. If you're an American voter, you're looking at these saying, hey, I want to continue these policies for two more years. I don't want to go back to the Biden administration, back to the dark ages. I believe the Republican base is going to show up and show out. Republican strategist Jennifer Kelly says support for Trump's deportations are the highest since. the Obama administration. 606, a handful of high-profile death penalty cases are set to be taken up early this year in Texas. The biggest one is the appeal trial of convicted baby killer Robert Roberson. The state has been relentless in its pursuit of an execution.

Kristen Quayar, who tracks capital punishment in Texas, says the appeals process takes a long time. We've been talking about Roberson since the execution was put on hold in October of 2024. This is an angry Fed chairman who's facing some potential charges, and the president's not very happy either. So how's Jerome Powell planning to fight back? Let's talk about with John Carney. He's financing economics editor of Breitbart News. What, if anything, can Jerome Powell do about the problems he's having with President Trump? Well, one of the big things that I predict he probably will do is not step down from the Federal Reserve when his term as chairman ends this May. But he has another position at the Fed. All Fed chairman are also chairman and governors. And his governor position actually lasts until 2008. So I imagine as a sort of, you know, to get back at the administration, which he feels is... unfairly persecuting him. He is probably never going away. He's going to stick it out. Almost all 10 chairmen step down when their chairmanship end. They also leave their governor position. I think Jerome Powell's not going to do that. It's going to break with precedent. Everybody since 1948 has stepped down when their chairmanship ends, but Jerome Powell's not going to do it. Interesting. Well, let's assume you're right, and that's what happens. And let's assume

that grand jury subpoena turns into criminal charges. And let's assume, for the sake of argument, that he gets convicted either of contempt of Congress, relying to Congress, or is found guilty of some sort of a fraud charge as relates to the way over budget renovation of the Fed. At that point, would Trump have the ability to get rid of him on the board of governors? He would. I think the statute about this is very vague. It just says that the president can remove somebody for a cause. And I think if you don't even have to wait for a conviction, I think if you are indicted by a grand jury of a serious crime, that's enough. Certainly, perhaps even just being charged would be enough. But if he's indicted, I think Trump has cause to remove him. The question will be whether or not the U.S. Senate would then try to punish Trump for trying to remove Jerome Powell. Because remember, Trump needs to be able to get people confirmed, not just when they, when positions come up at the Fed, but elsewhere as well. So Trump needs to be able to not just be assured that a court would allow him to remove them. but also that senators would allow him to do so as well. All right, also for the sake of argument, John Carney, let's say that none of that happens and he does stay on the board of governors. What kind of damage can he do as a member of the board of governors against what Trump wants to accomplish with the Fed? I think it could be very damaging. There's a good reason why in the past the governors, the chairman always stepped down from the governor's seat. Because in essence, they would become the shadow chairman. They'll sit there and they've been working with all of these people for years and years. The chairman very well may be somebody pretty new. Somebody's not even on the Fed right now. And so that guy's coming in. He's supposed to take leadership of this organization. And instead you have... The guy who has been leading it sitting there across the table, he will in effect perhaps be the real chairman in all but name. I think that's very dangerous. It's very destabilizing. It'd be very bad for the institution of the Federal Reserve. It's why in the past they haven't done this. I'm not sure that's how Jerome Powell's looking at it. So I think he really might stick around unless, look, Trump might be able to come to a truce with him in some way. But right now, given how aggressive Jerome Powell has been in this whole matter, I think he's going to stick around and try to, he'll describe it as trying to save the Fed from Donald Trump. But in reality, what it will be is stay there and try to fight against Donald Trump's economic policies for the next two years. That'll be interesting to watch. Thank you, John Carney. President Trump yesterday talking about Fed Chair Jerome Powell at a speech in Detroit, the criminal investigation into Jerome Powell continues over the cost of renovating the Fed's headquarters. Now, as the feud between Trump and Jerome Powell escalates, Breitbart's John Carney says it's Jerome Powell who's declared war on the Trump administration. He put up a video declaring that he had received subpoenas and said that this was an attempt by the Trump administration to undermine Federal Reserve independence. Now, Donald Trump, he didn't even know that subpoenas had gone out. The truth is, Jerome Powell has ignored questions about the renovations. Carney says we haven't seen a feud like this since Jimmy Carter in the 70s. Overnight trading is down.

Across the board, Wall Street was down yesterday. Now, Jerome Powell isn't the only banker taking Trump on. Others are up in arms over what he wants to do with credit cards. That's lower credit card interest rates to a maximum 10%, but he's going to need help. He hasn't said he's going to do it by executive order yet. But if he tries, that will be held unconstitutional. That's Andy Trucevich, a constitutional scholar who says executive orders do not have the force of law. But if there are enough in Congress who aren't already owned by banks, maybe a law can be crafted in cooperation with the president. That's about the only way to get her done. President Trump canceled meetings with Iranian officials yesterday and called for the protesters to take over the country. I think we should do everything we can to encourage it without taking it over while leaving the Iranian people as the prime movers that this is their country and they should be determined. their future. Elsewhere, the interim government in Venezuela has released at least four American citizens who are imprisoned under President Nicholas Maduro's regime. Meetings between American and European officials over Greenland continue today. President Trump recently reiterated his interest in acquiring or purchasing Greenland, saying NATO should want the U.S. to have more control in the interest of European and American security. Greenland is currently an autonomous part of Denmark, and Greenland's prime minister said alongside the Danish prime minister Tuesday, they face a geopolitical crisis, and if they have to choose between the U.S. and Denmark, they choose Denmark. DHS Secretary Kristi Noem is now requiring members of Congress to give a week's notice before they show up at these. centers. Her intent is to give ICE employees time to prepare for any Congress members coming to visit and to make sure that it's actually oversight activities that are being conducted and not a quote unquote circus-like publicity stunt. Natalia Middleset with Just the News says the Democrats have tried to use lawfare to get around this. Closer to home, Democrats in San Antonio are all worked up at the increased presence of ICE agents there and with the help of the local cops. What is SAPD's role in partnering with state and federal officials? Democrat City Council member Sukk Corr there. There's a city council next week. There's a meeting of the city council next week just to talk about this. Houston Mayor John Whitmire has had issues with Democrats to the left of him in Houston because of HPD's cooperation with ICE. Meanwhile, Texas Senator John Cornyn in the middle of a tight primary campaign against Ken Paxton. is sounding more mega when it comes to the border.

During the trip, he called for the completion of the border wall, despite opposing it initially. He'll say anything in a heartbeat to get a vote. John Cornyn is from the old school Republican Party, the Amnesty Open Border Republican Party. That's Kenny Webster with our sister station AM 950, calling out John Cornyn's 20-year record on border security. John Cornyn is a guy who spent a lot of time helping get people into the country. He was an advocate to import more refugees from Afghanistan. Webster says John Cornyn is just trying to get President Trump's endorsement. which isn't likely to happen. The U.S. Supreme Court heard oral arguments in cases challenging a ban on boys playing girls' sports. Education Secretary Linda McMahon says this should be a no-brainer. The president clearly with his executive order stated that boys are boys and girls are girls and boys will not be allowed to play. in girls sports. We're expecting a decision on this in late June. Being in the courtroom did give me some pretty good insight and perspective, not only to hear, but to see the different reactions of the judges. I feel confident that we'll have at least five, if not six votes in favor of allowing states to have these laws that protect women's sports. Jonathan signs with Texas values, by the way, we could get a ruling from the high court on tariffs at 9 o'clock this morning. It's now 7.05. The midterms are 10 months away, but the mainstream media is already trying to convince you. that House Democrats have a path to winning the majority. They think that despite their unpopularity and the odds. Of the 22 seats that are up for the midterms, 20 of those seats, President Trump won by 20 points or more. Republican strategist Jennifer Kelly says it's a very narrow path forward, mostly because people support Trump's mission, especially when it comes to deporting illegals. The highest level of people who believe that since the Obama administration. That's pretty significant, but you wouldn't believe that if you were just watching the mainstream. All right, so as I said, DHS Secretary Christine HOM has issued a brand new order. Natalia Middlestadt, reported for Just the News, has an article about this story. It requires a one-week notice by any member of Congress that they want to visit an ICE detention facility. And she lists some very good reasons in an article, Natalia. Why don't you go over the reasons why Kristi Noem says this is necessary? Sure. So as she explained, the basis for the new policy is that they can ensure that adequate protection for members of Congress, congressional staff, detainees, and ICE employees is provided when Congress members visit with their staff. And of course, along with that, I mean, there are other things that happen when somebody from Congress just all of a sudden shows up with a bunch of television cameras, right? That can cause all sorts of problems, not the least of which is you have ICE agents that are supposed to be doing certain functions that have to be pulled off of those functions in order to accommodate the member of Congress. Exactly. And this comes obviously after last May when there was the incident at the Newark Ice facility and the mayor was arrested and all that. And so this is to ensure that as Noam says in the memo, there's no quote unquote circus-like publicity stunts, but it's actually legitimate oversight and there won't be any chaotic environments with tightened motions that she said. Has there been any reaction from Congress up until this point? Are any of them speaking out about what it is the secretary wants to do? Yeah, so actually, the reason this memo came to light is because Representative Joe Naguose of Colorado and other Democratic lawmakers filed a lawsuit over this memo on Saturday. And so they are pushing back against it trying to get it struck down. This is the second. noticed that's like this. Originally, Kristi Noem did one back in June, but it was struck down by a court in December, and so they found a different legal basis for this one, and so now it's being taken back to court. Okay. Have any of them given a good reason? Because clearly, it is, to a certain extent, there is a safety issue here. I think Christy Numb has made a pretty good point about the safety issue for everybody involved. including ICE detainees themselves. So how are they going to attempt to make this argument that they should be able to show up unannounced whenever they want to? Yeah, the way they're going about it is they're saying, oh, well, we can't have proper oversight if we're not allowed to just show up when we want. And obviously, Kristi Noem is pointing out the safety issues with that and trying to make it, you know, a way that they could, you know, visit and conduct oversight, just making sure that everybody is safe. And she even said that if they want to visit before a week's time, like, she can improve it personally. So there's that option as well. All right. Well, I'm guessing that how this turns out in court depends on which court is hearing it. Which court is going to hear this case?

Yeah, so right now this is, but we filed with, yeah, the U.S. District Court for D.C., which is the same one that struck it down back in December. Okay, so this is, like everything else, this will go through an appeals process and at some point in time, she'll probably the order will be upheld, but it won't be at the local level, will it? Overnight trading is down this morning, another down day on Wall Street yesterday, and we're watching for earnings reports from Wells Fargo and Citigroup, already Bank of America, topping some expectations. President Trump wants to lower credit card interest rates to a maximum 10%. It's not going to be easy, though. Constitutional scholar Andy Trucevich says a presidential order can't force banks to play ball. A president can't make new laws with an executive order, but he can or she can implement an executive order of an existing law or a constitutional protection. There is no existing law limiting credit card interest rates, so it's up to Congress to work with the president on this. 734, the Conroe Municipal Court judge arrested in December on drunk driving charges had a campaign event last night, but don't ask him about his legal issues. What did you mean, though, when you said you had a bad day? It's all in the statement, and there's a lot on that statement. You could read all of it. Judge Nick Wagner confronted by a reporter with our TV partner Channel 2. Harris County Treasurer Dr. Carla Wyatt is in hot water with voters, not to mention legal trouble. Remember, she was arrested for a burglary charge, but don't expect to be... Seeing any action taken against her by Harris County Democrats, including the county judge. It's going to let it all just ride out. And the criminal justice system doesn't move as fast as we would like at times. And this may still be pending when the elections held next November. Gary Pollan with the Texas Conservative Review. Now, last week, County Judge Lina Hidalgo said it was too early to consider removing Wyatt. The state of Texas is facing a growing doctor shortage. It's likely to get worse before it gets better. As the Texas population sores, the state predicts a shortage of 10,000 doctors by 2032. Dr. Mary Talley Bowden says the state needs to reform its licensing process, which takes too long. I also don't think Texas is as doctor-friendly as people might think based on what I have experience. And I believe the medical side of our state is not consistent with the freedom-loving spirit of Texas. She and other doctors were targeted for punishment by the state medical board. during the pandemic. Last year, the legislature passed a law to allow the state to bring in more foreign trained doctors. Corey Olson, News Radio 740, KTRH. I don't know how many times he actually showed up on the island, but I don't know how personal... The questioning was going to get. James Comer was trying to signal, oh, it's not going to get you. We're not accusing him of any wrongdoing. He's just afraid that he's going to have to take the fifth for every question you ask, Representative Comer. After his no-show at the congressional hearing yesterday, here's James Comer speaking to the press. I think everyone knows by now Bill Clinton did not show up. And I think it's important to note that this subpoena. was voted on in a bipartisan manner by this committee. This wasn't something that I just issued as chairman of the committee. This was voted on by the entire committee in a unanimous vote of the House Oversight Committee to subpoena former President Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. Now Hillary Clinton is supposed to show up tomorrow. We'll see what happens there. But with respect to the former president, He did not show up today. One reason I think most Americans want President Clinton to answer some questions is because he visited the White House. Jeffrey Epstein visited the White House 17 times while Bill Clinton was president. I've been in Congress nine years. I think I've been to the White House nine times to nine years. Epstein was in the White House double the amount of time that I was under one president. And then we know that Bill Clinton flew on Epstein's plane somewhere around 27 times after the presidency. So no one's accusing Bill Clinton of any wrongdoing. We just have questions. And that's why the Democrats voted along with Republicans to subpoena Bill Clinton. Not a single Democrat showed up today. Not a single Democrat. The ones that have press conferences on the Capitol steps and talk about how they're trying to get justice for the victims and all that. These are things I say only care about questioning Republicans. And we've had a former Trump cabinet secretary, O'Costa, in for a grilling. We had Bill Barr, former Attorney General, in for a grilling. But for whatever reason, President Clinton didn't show up, and the Democrats on the committee. don't seem to have a problem. This is the amount of preparation that went into this deposition today. These were the questions that we were prepared to ask. We've communicated with President Clinton's legal team for months now, giving them opportunity after opportunity to come in, to give us a date, and they continue to delay, delay, delay to the point where we had no idea whether they're going to show up today or not. I think it's very disappointing. As a result of Bill Clinton not showing up for his lawful subpoena, which again was voted on it unanimously by the committee in a bipartisan manner, we will move next week in the House Oversight Committee markup to hold former President Clinton in contempt of Congress. Oh my, I cannot answer that question on the grounds. I might incriminate myself. Yeah, okay. Well, we'll see if you get a...
