Officials say cartel members set fire to vehicles and buildings. while trying to stop the operation. The U.S. Embassy in Mexico is urging all Americans and affected areas to shelter in place, and some airports, including Puerto Vallada, are closed. Fox is Mary Ann Ranfordy. The U.S. offered intelligence support to Mexico. Texas Governor Greg Abbott urging Texans in that country to follow the warnings. Several airlines, including Texas-based Southwest, and American have canceled flights. to the affected areas. Now to our other big story, secret service agents shoot and kill a man early yesterday morning after he breached the security perimeter at Mar-Lago. President Donald Trump was not there at the time. Tennessee Republican Senator Marsha Blackburn blames the radical left.

Guess who's standing in the way of the SAVE Act, which requires people to provide proof of their citizenship when they register to vote and then proof of who they say they are when they actually cast their votes. It's not that difficult. It's really not. But guess who's in the way? Mitch McConnell, the former majority leader and minority leader, depending on his in power, in the Senate. Mitch McConnell is among those holding up getting the Save Act up for a vote on the Senate side. It already passed the House side back on February 11th, and now it's a matter of John Thune twisting the arms of whomever he needs to to get it up for a vote on the Senate side. Saying if you want to, you know, there just doesn't seem to be enough of an appetite on the United States Senate side among the Republicans to nuke the filibuster altogether, which is because they're stupid. Sources tell us the properties are expected to fetch around $2 billion. The assets were picked up over the years through deals with Concho Resources and Shell. Checking on the market, stocks rose on Friday after the Supreme Court struck down President Trump's sweeping global tariffs. The Dow gained 231 points. The S&P 500 rose 7 tens of a percent. This morning, stock futures are heading for a lower open as investors continue to assess trade policy. Over the weekend, the president pledged a 15 percent tariff to replace those, the court invalidated. And Goldman Sachs is raising its oil price forecast for the final three months of the year. The bank increased its estimates. for West Texas Intermediate by $6 a barrel to $56. However, that's about $10 below the current price of crude. They're using IED attacks. Several American Airlines already have canceled flights to the affected areas and Texas Governor Greg Abbott says any Texans in Mexico should listen to the warnings. But the Treasury Secretary was already talking about this on... The Sunday morning talk shows yesterday. And what Secretary Scott Bessent had to say is something that I think everybody should hear. And I'm going to give it to you as soon as I can make this machine work. You know, sometimes you push play and it just doesn't want to play. That's a problem here. Let's give it one more shot here, Secretary Scott Bessent. Let's be clear about what today's ruling was and what it wasn't. Despite the misplaced clothing from Democrats. Ill-informed media outlets and the very people who gutted our industrial base, the court did not rule against President Trump's tariffs. Six justices simply ruled that IEPA authorities cannot be used to raise even $1 of revenue. This administration will invoke alternative legal authorities to replace the IEPA tariffs. We will be leveraging Section 232 and Section 301 tariff authorities that have been validated through thousands of legal challenges. You can tell, obviously, that the administration was locked and loaded with their response if the court went against them, and that's exactly what happened. That was, by the way, Secretary Scott Bessent on Friday. But yesterday on the talk shows, he held court as well on the court and their decisions. Next on the 10 on 740 KTRH. So the headlines all say that the Supreme Court killed Trump's tariffs. But is that really the case or is it just one type of tariff? Let's see if Richard Raso can make some sense of it for us, certified financial planner. Good morning, Richard.

Good morning, Bob. Okay, so tell us what exactly the court did here with their tariff ruling. Well, you've got to remember the Supreme Court ruling would lower the effective tax rate from 14% to roughly 6.5%. But as you played Scott Bessent... Who doesn't suckage, by the way? He's a very smart guy. They will find other ways to go ahead and implement this. You know, the Yale Lab, Budget Lab, came out and said that over a decade that the Paris would generate less than $3 trillion in surplus for us. So from the market perspective, what you've got to look at is uncertainty is tough. Right now we've got new global tariffs to 15% under Section 122. That's going to last for 150 days. So when this news broke, one thing I watch as an investor, you should watch is the 10-year yields because the tariff tax relief has sort of stabilized yields since it's been like a comfort blanket. for deficit hawks, right? Because yields are looking at the deficit. Money coming in means the deficit could be reduced. So if you have upside risk to yields, that's not good for markets, right? So markets are going to watch this. Markets also going to watch, hey, is there going to be some form of refund that is going to come back to companies that paid the tariff? And is it going to hit their bottom line? So if you have corporate relief... say a break from tariffs, then you're looking at maybe a, I don't know if this is going to happen. I don't think in this administration it will, but $175 billion a refund would benefit corporate margins. So markets look at it a little differently, Bob, than, say, political pundits or experts like you do. So I look at it from this market perspective, and it was a non-event at the time, and then the thought of refunds would probably... would help corporate coffers. The most important part is we've got to get through the uncertainty of this, how we're going to go through the back door and try to reestablish. Right now, markets know 15% across the board for 150 days. And remember what President Trump has done, he's removed tariff or lower them on a wide variety of food items. So, you know, you've got to be a little bit more targeted because of where consumers stand today. What do you make of the fact that there was such a split in the court among the conservatives? You know, two of Trump's appointees sided with the liberals on the court, and, you know, Samuel Alito and Thomas and Brett Kavanaugh were the dissenters. What do you make of that? I mean, I think this is sort of an unprecedented kind of thing. I mean, I'm not a political pundit more than I am looking at markets and technician on that side of it. But the thought is that... we you know when president trump comes in and he creates all the you know listen he takes he he he sort of ruffs up the establishment creates something new and even the more established of conservatives might be a bit thrown off by what he's trying to do so i believe anyway and it looks like it what i always been a fan of Scott Bessent and i've been following him for a year before he was in in this

in this position is that they're going to find a way to initiate this. What I get concerned about from a market perspective and a consumer perspective is a little bit more targeted on how you do it. You remember when President Trump first initiated that 10% across the board, the market was fine with that, right? Because it's the devil you know. Everybody across the board, when he came out, when dropped before we came back. Remember that? I do. Because, yeah. So the point I'm making here is, We have business uncertainty, tariff uncertainty. So I think what the Supreme Court did is they just added a level of uncertainty because now the White House is going to respond. I'm a little concerned about that close to the midterms because we don't want uncertainty markets and uncertainty with consumer sentiment. as we get closer to the midterms. So it's nice that we have this, hey, markets can deal with this 15% across the board. We've got 150 days. But as we get closer to know what the best is going to do and the president's going to do, that's what I get concerned about from a political perspective is where we're going to stand in the midterms. Because even though the economy looks great, listen, manufacturing numbers, I've never seen them like this. I'm doing this for 35 years. I've never seen manufacturing numbers as good as they are now. but nobody talks about it. Nobody's talking about the manufacturing renaissance right now that's going on in the United States. Not even the White House, not to the level that they should, because that should be absolutely good. They don't even bring it up. They do not even bring it up, okay? And we have, and the problem is when you look at small businesses, we don't have the skill labor force. We don't not have the skill labor force in the United States, which is pretty sad. which is a testament to our education system. We do not have the skilled labor force to help these businesses. But from a tariff perspective, what it means, always follow yields. Ten-year yields actually move the smidge. They are down a little bit today. They like the tariffs to some degree because of where we are from a deficit perspective. When yields go up, stock market doesn't like it. So those are the things you've got to watch as an investor. when it comes to tariffs. That's good advice. Trump administration moves on to different kind of tariffs after Friday's Supreme Court ruling knocking down. part of them. Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller says, hey, this is what Americans voted for two years ago. President Trump got elected in large part to bring back our supply chains, reshore our manufacturing base, bring back our jobs from overseas. Over the last year, his historic program of tariffs has done exactly that. So the president raised global tariffs to 15% under a different trade law. And remember this, he cut the trade deficit by 78%. with the IEPA tariffs. The president also promised to take control of Venezuela's oil sales, which has Texas refineries excited. Refineries that were built along the Gulf Coast were originally built to process thick, heavy, crude in countries like Venezuela. But SMU's Bruce Billock says this will not mean cheaper gas immediately. It will take years to get Venezuela's oil industry back on track. Mortgage rates are back at their lowest point in years. Housing expert Lance Thrailkill says it's good, but rates rather aren't where they need to be. I still believe that we need to get down into the fives to really see the market pick up like we'd expect to. He says it's a move, though, in the right direction. Dow futures this morning are down about 175 points. 605 HFD says a wildfire in northeast Houston has burned. About 175 anchors and is just 30% contained. People in the affected areas should be ready to move if conditions warrant. Meantime, an historic blizzard hits the East Coast. In addition to this, you know, once in a 30-year snow event, we also have a flood event that's going to occur because of those high winds and high tide. Mayor Mike Mengen of Mansequan, New Jersey, hundreds of thousands are without power this morning, and we've got thousands of flights impacted nationally. 73 cancellations out of Bush this morning, 15 out of hobby. By the way, should let you know that TSA pre-check reopened shortly after being closed down due to the DHS shutdown. A shutdown driven by Democrats fixated on ice.

We believe that this moment should be used to make dramatic changes to ice that are bold, that are transformational, and that are meaningful. House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, by the way, President Trump gives the State of the Union tomorrow. What the candidates have to do is mobilize their base and give them a compelling reason as to why they need to vote. UH Political Science Professor Dr. Jackie Bally says that without that it'll be a tough midterm, but Texas at least has a compelling Senate race going for it. Do you have other states where you don't have these exciting races? And those races, you will see a lower turnout because there's not a reason to actually go to the poll. She says those candidates. boast Trump endorsements to push them over the line. If you recall last year at the State of the Union address, which was more of just an address, the president had just, the president had just been inaugurated.

But you remember how horrific it was for the Democrats from an optics point of view that they would not even stand and applaud a young boy with cancer, who was being given an honorary commission as a member of the Secret Service. He's a law enforcement fanatic. I want to say, how old is that young boy? Like he was around 11 or something like that, maybe. And he's, you know, he's been given honorary positions with multiple police departments around the country. And President Trump, you know, raised the level, you know, at the State of the Union address. And they wouldn't even stand and applaud for the young boy with cancer being inducted as an honorary member of the Secret Service. So, you know, President Trump, again, we kind of pointed out. He could stand up there and announce the cure for cancer, as everybody likes to say. But if he and his team were in any way responsible for it, the Democrats would stay seated. And they know that in a midterm year, the optics of that are going to be worse than if they stand outside and try to continue to call Trump a racist, call him Hitler, call him a Nazi, all those other things that they do every day anyway. They feel like, you know, that's business as usual. The media coverage of that would be just business as usual. But the coverage of them sitting there and not applauding things that should absolutely be applauded is something that, you know, I guess it's a bridge too far for them. They won't do it. At 1.30 this morning, the security detail detected that an individual had made his way into the inner perimeter of Bar Lago. A deputy and two Secret Service agents on the detail. went to that area to investigate. They confronted a white male that was carried a gas can and a shotgun. He was ordered to drop those two pieces of equipment that he had with him, at which time he put down the gas can, raised the shotgun to a shooting position. At that point in time, the deputy and the two Secret Service agents fired their weapons and neutralized the threat. Game over. That's great work by the Deputy and the Secret Service agents, but it doesn't answer the question about what are we going to do about political violence. I think whether it's a crazy person that's wanting to commit suicide or somebody who is intent on getting through a perimeter. to kill the president or burn the place down or just get some type of narcissistic attention, which we seem to see a lot of that, people thinking that they have a hero complex, thinking they're making a big difference in the world by sacrificing their life. We saw this in Minneapolis with people doing stupid stuff, like fighting armed ice agents with a gun, trying to run them over with a car. which case they lost their lives that way. But these people, they're, I think they're increasing because the stage that they have to say, hey, I'm important enough for you to notice by doing this action, that is increasing as well. Yeah, that's a very good point. And, you know, again, what I was saying before about the media, what kind of a role does the media play in this? We continue to see national media, you know, painting and portraying President Trump, even if they're not seeing it themselves, they're platforming people into saying that Trump is Hitler and these are the Nazi Gestapo, you know, secret police that he's got out there, disappearing people by way of ICE and CBP and so forth. What role does that play in giving lunatics like this the incentive to go ahead?

and do their narcissistic acts you're talking about? Right. I think it's huge because people have, they've fallen right in line with where they think that they're thinking individually. And they think that they're rising to the occasion when in reality all they're doing is following a narrative. Their anger is based on that narrative. Their feeling of self-worth is based on that narrative. And then when you look deep enough, which is like the... width of a hair, not real deep at all. You start to see that the narrative that they're following is created a lot of the times by AI. It's created for enemies of the United States. It's created by psychopaths who live in the United States. And like Jim Jay Jones down in Guyana, they convince people to follow them to their ultimate demise. So we see more and more of this because media promotes just like social media, it promotes for clicks. And that's a big difference in the way media, legacy media was to the way it is now. And then because nothing will get done in those two years, then in 2028, the Democrats will run and win, and it will all be over because they will nuke the filibuster and change the country forever. Political Science Professor, we're going to talk about the fact that the Trump base may not be coming out. They don't understand the significance of coming out in these midterms. Just because President Trump is not on the ballot, they cannot stay away. And ultimately, that's what it's going to come down to. It's going to be about turnout. The Democrats, as the old saying goes, will crawl across broken glass to vote against Trump's agenda in November. The question is, will Trump's base come out with such energy and fervor and enthusiasm to stop them?

And according to some of the surveys, there's not a whole lot of motivation to do it since Trump himself isn't on the ballot. Trump is on the ballot. Trump's policies are on the ballot. Trump's agenda is on the ballot. Trump's endorsed candidates are on the ballot. but his name isn't on it, and therefore it could be a problem. Dr. Jackie Valley, U.H. political science professor now talking about turnout, which is what this is all going to be about. Jackie, good morning. Hey. Thank you so much for coming on with us. So, yeah, we're looking at, you know, some concerns here by Republicans saying that without the Trump name on the ballot, even Trump's diehard supporters may not be as motivated to come out to the polls. What are you seeing? At the top of the ticket, if you look at Texas, for instance, less than 2% of each party's registered voters have turned out so far. Trends have shown, not only in Texas but nationwide, that Republicans are going to the polls later and later, more closer to election day. So even though we are lagging behind Democrats currently in numbers as far as turnout, trends are showing that we usually catch up and surpass that number going into and on election day. What Republican candidates need to do is to get their base out. Now is the time to do the call, to do the block walking, and to make sure that their voters and their base is out. So what is typically the turnout for the party that's in power, again, after a presidential change? We all know that historically speaking, the midterms go to the party that has, you know, the opposite party of the presidency at this point in time. So it's already an uphill struggle, but what does history tell us about turnout for that party in the midterms? 18 election cycles, in midterm elections, the party in the White House has lost seats. So as you mentioned, the expectation is even more so for Republicans to do a hard press because the odds are against them, based on history, based on the last 18 election cycles.

Okay, so with the president's name not on the top of the ballot, even though all of his policies are and a whole lot of endorsed candidates are, three times now, three straight presidential elections, obviously people were very, very enthusiastic and excited for the vote. Without that name at the top, is there a psychological impact, do you think, on Republican voters that just maybe makes them a little bit less than excited? You're seeing is since the president himself is not on the ballot, you're seeing a lot of Republican candidates who are getting the president's endorsement. So they will let you know, I am still carrying the torch. In Texas, you see Trevor Nels, who's replacing Troy Nels. The first thing that he did and the first thing the president did was endorse Trevor. So you have candidates like him who have the president's endorsement and is letting the base know and letting the voters know. Look, the president's not on the agenda, but I am, and I will carry the president's message. Does the media attack the same way without the president being on the ballot? And I'm talking about the left-wing media that does typically, you know, all of the TDS work for the Democrats. And I ask that because, obviously, the president's agenda. is still there. Everything that was promised and including and especially their focus on the immigration enforcement, specifically the deportation task force and the chaos that follows on the streets. Will the media make more of this, I suppose, than they would if President Trump was on the ballot? Well, the media's war with the president is unprecedented. So it's very atypical. However, if you do have candidates who are touting and making sure that everyone knows that they're supported by the president, they're not going to be seen in a positive light either. But the level of ferocity and the level of attacks are not going to be as vicious as it has been against the president. One more factor, Jackie, if you could. Dr. Jackie Bailey is our guest, U.H. political scientist and professor. President Trump's approval ratings are not great. I saw on ABC yesterday they were saying it was at a low for his presidency thus far. They're showing 39% approve and around 60% disapprove. I'm not surprised by those, quite frankly, because of the way the media slants everything. But nonetheless, the approval rating is low. So will the president's endorsement of all of these individuals you're talking about carry as much weight given those numbers? and base like you do in the state of Texas. If you have a strong Republican base in some of the other conservative states, those numbers will not imply or be a negative for the candidates who have been endorsed by the president. So for instance, those in Texas who have been endorsed by the president, having his endorsement will help their candidacy, will help their campaign.

All right. Well, that's what we need to know. And so it really is this going to be a matter of getting enthusiastic voters out there and get that high turnout. And I'm glad to know, by the way, that we as Republicans, and I'll speak for myself there, do vote closer and closer to Election Day because that is something that I think all of us wishes that we would get back to is an election day rather than an election period, which, of course, is so much harder to monitor with respect to fraud. Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is suing the Chinese parent company of TEMU, the discount shopping platform used by more than 80 million Americans, claiming the app sends user data data data back to China. Author and China expert Gordon Chang says data mining is not the only threat. TEMU has been sending into Texas seeds that were unsolicited, and that appears to be part of a coordinated plan to plant invasive species in the United States. There are confused kids who look at people like you, a male dressing as a woman, and are confused in some sort of way indoctrinated into thinking that this is an okay thing. The monstrously obese teacher in Chicago who went viral for her shooting herself in the neck, miming of the murder of Charlie Kirk shortly after that horrific event last September. And she was supposedly going to be fired. She never was fired. She's still employed there for literally putting herself on video. She is a teacher of students miming the murder of a man, an innocent man who was. talking into a microphone. She's still on the job, but in New York, a teacher that was going to help advise a group of students with a Turning Point USA chapter, while she's out of the job. Somebody make this make sense. He actually tried to justify that saying, well, it's a federal law that says you can't get paid unless, you know, you show your identification for these things. Well, that's exactly the point. We're trying to create a federal law that says you must show your identification to vote. It's a little bit more important than shoveling snow. Anyway. Lucy Martinez is the one that I was talking about in Chicago. She was originally reported she was being fired for being among those educators who should not be allowed to clean the toilets out of a school bathroom, much less educate children in a school. They shouldn't be allowed to be near it who is celebrating the murder of Charlie Kirk on camera. Turns out she was never fired. She was placed on leave and then she was retained and she is still on the job. But what makes, and that video, by the way, is among those on my Instagram feed. I would love a follow on my social media. I am on pretty much all of the main platforms from Instagram to Facebook to X to TikTok to YouTube. at strictly speaking with Bob France or some variation thereof. If you look for strictly speaking and Bob France, you'll find me there. And you can see that video from late September in which that one happened. But the story that brought all of this back up now is this one out of suburban Syracuse. An upstate New York's high school teacher was suspended. and is now on administrative leave and is in the process of being fired, apparently, for daring to accept the children's invitation to be their faculty representative for a turning point USA chapter at this school. Jennifer Fasulo, a Spanish teacher at Charles W. Baker High School in Baldwin'sville. Again, that's outside Syracuse. was placed on leave back on January 30th after she offered to help students establish Club America, the high school division of Turning Point USA. The district can confirm, said a statement.

by the school, that a staff member has been placed on administrative lead while a matter is under review. We're following established administrative and legal procedures, and we are unable to comment further or share additional details at this time. While the students are sharing details, and they're talking about how they rallied behind Fasulo, who they described in a petition demanding her return as a victim of spiritual and political discrimination. Quote, We believe no educator should be punished for their personal beliefs, end quote, according to the appeal, which had more than 2100 signatures of students. This teacher is being targeted not because of her performance, but because of her political beliefs, said Club America President Jerry Dygart. Our club exists to promote political understanding through civil discourse. What a shocking thing to push and promote at a school. Civil discourse. Removing the one teacher who best embodies those values puts that mission in serious jeopardy. Another student said, my classmates and I are confused as to why she is not in class. She extends her title as teacher and is considered a mentor. The wisdom and compassion that she gives to her students is unmatched. So that's just so you know, that's the state of education in America. Mock Charlie Kirk's murder and keep your job. Support Charlie Kirk's mission of civil discourse and political discussion and education and, you know, pro-Christian, although Christianity isn't supposed to be pushed in a school, but it's obviously just a god-fearing message. Promote that and get fired. That's the state of education in America. I'll close today with some four important words. Home school all, well, that's five of your children.
