Even a CNN poll after the speech showed a strong majority supporting the policies that Trump laid out. The president will be in Texas tomorrow ahead of next week's primaries. He'll be in Corpus Christi. Friday also the last day of early voting across Texas. The casino gambling industry, unsuccessful so far in getting into Texas, is spending big in this cycle to try and change their luck. The question is, will all of this big spending actually pay off for them? In a state the size of Texas with no legalized gambling, they see a great opportunity here. To them, it's almost like pocket change to fund these candidates over several cycles. Political consultant Steve Hilding with RMC says he believes the gambling lobby is playing the long game. They are certainly supporting the candidates, but they are also spending millions of dollars in public affairs work. Billboards across the state working very hard to change the public perception. Talking about the state of the union address, President Trump, cornering and walking the Democrats into a bear trap on a question of whether or not the job of government is to... Look out for the concerns of the American people first over illegal aliens. We all saw what happened. The Democrats are going to be, I think they're going to struggle with this for the next eight months until the midterms, to be honest with you. But did it move the needles to question? Let's ask CNN. Among speech watchers tonight, 64% say his policies will move the U.S. in the right direction. And look at the growth President Trump made. over the speech. So pre-speech, it was 54% of speech watchers said as policies will move the U.S. in the right direction. After the speech, that number goes up 10 percentage points. Donald Trump made some progress with people watching the speech from their pre-speech expectations to what they saw in the speech itself. And that's 64% number. That's pretty much in range across all of his State of the Union addresses in his first term. Last year, the joint session, that's about what we've seen. Roughly two-thirds have walked away from his speech as thinking he's going to move it in the right direction. So a lot of red meat for the base. Yeah. There's no doubt about that. If you're a Republican on the ballot in 2026, I think you leave this speech being as happy as you could possibly be, that he sort of stuck to the script on the economy, he gave the red meat to the base on immigration, and they can leave the home tonight and sort of take that out on the campaign trail. I think they're trying very hard, Jake Tapper, in particular there to minimize the impact of the president's speech on the public because the speech, excuse me, the numbers answer.

analyzer there. I don't know the guy's name because I don't watch CNN, but I do recognize Tapper. But the first guy said 64% of the speech watchers thought after the fact that Trump's policies will move the U.S. in the right direction. And if Tapper comes in with, so just red meat for the base, huh? I don't know. Is 64% of the country the base? Is that what you're saying? Because I'll take that. Because if we have 64% of the voting public is the base that supports Trump, that means only 36% of the people do not. So yeah, that would be nice, but no. A little word of the wise, Jake Tapper, as much as you try to play it down, 64% is a majority of all of the voters that were... surveyed here by CNN. So that's a pretty big deal. The reverberations, like I said, are going to last for quite some time. President Trump walked them into a trap and did indeed do what his job was to do that night, two nights ago. The job was to tell the story of America over the course of the last 12 months. 13 months, if you will, going back to January of 2025 when he was inaugurated. So that's the deal. It's simply a matter of tell the story that the media won't tell. Most people who watched that speech didn't know anything about the successes that have happened here because they will not tell them on CNN. They will not tell them on, you know, the NBC nightly news or anywhere else. So President Trump had a job, tell the real story about what's going on here. The American people heard that story and they walked away saying, I like it. that's the reality. And that's why the Democrats are livid this morning. All right. One of the most important things that President Trump talked about two nights ago now was the fraud. The fraud in Minnesota, the fraud across the country. The fraud costing, you know, just tens of billions of dollars to the American taxpayer. And Vice President JD Vance was pinpointed by the president at that point as being the man who's going to lead the war on fraud. He got off and running yesterday the day after the president made that declaration. Here was the vice president. We're announcing today that we have decided to temporarily halt certain amounts of Medicaid funding that are going to the state of Minnesota in order to ensure that the state of Minnesota takes its obligation seriously. to be good stewards of the American people's tax money. Now what is this going to mean? What this means is that first of all, the providers on the ground in Minnesota have actually already been paid. The state has paid those providers the money. What we're doing is we are stopping the federal payments that will go to the state government until the state government takes its obligations seriously.

to stop the fraud that's being perpetrated against the American taxpayer. The fraud being committed by what President Trump called largely Somali pirates, which is which is not a reach, honestly. If you know anything about Somali pirates, it is not a reach, not a stretch at all. But obviously the acknowledgement thereof. by the vice president and the targeting of Medicaid payments, it's extraordinarily important. It's a great first step because, again, if you look at the amount of fraud being committed in places like Minnesota and what is now being discovered in California, the entirety of the national budget, the federal budget, is being kind of, it's out of whack because of it. It could be balanced that budget if we just wiped out this fraud. This, if you recall, one year ago. is what Doge was supposed to do. And now we're starting a new effort to get it done. I think it's offensive that American taxpayers pay into these programs.

and they are defrauded. And I think in some ways, more significantly than that, it's really sad that American children who need these services aren't able to get them because it's going to fraudsters instead of somebody else. Here's what I think. I mean, look, we're certainly going to make sure that our anti-fraud efforts go after the fraudsters and not after anybody who actually benefits from these services. But I actually think the question is a little off in a way because the problem is not going after the fraud. The problem is the fact that these programs are being defrauded to begin with. They will not exist. Our social safety net will disappear unless we take fraud more seriously. So what I'm most worried about, is that unless we preserve these programs for the next generation, they're going to disappear and all the money is going to go to fraudsters. Yeah, I'm not really worried about the politics. I'm worried about the justice of all. I think it's a... Thank you. That's incredibly important what he just said. The most important part about this isn't just the fact that we are now going after the fraud. The most important part is, how did this fraud begin to begin with? The fact that these programs are in place and are so easily defrauded by... evildoers and people with ill intent. That's the real problem here. And Vice President JD Vance needs to get to the bottom of it. And again, I'm glad the president is actually taking this serious enough to give it to his number two in the country to go to work on this whole thing. All right. The other big story, or another big story, this week in particular, is from Senate Majority Leader John Thune, who confirmed yesterday on Fox News that he will be forcing a vote on election integrity. on the Save Act. After the president laid it out there about how extraordinarily important it is that we stop the Democrats from stealing, from cheating in the elections, we need to make sure that all of the tens of millions. There's a reason why tens of millions of illegal aliens came into the country during the Biden four years. It wasn't because somebody just decided they wanted to have, well, I don't want to use any. examples here, but it wasn't out of any concern, misplaced concern for the well-being of people around the world. It was to bring in voters. And the only way it works is if these people have access to the polls. That means they can register and they can vote on the QT, if you will. You can't do that if you require. uh proof of citizenship when you register to vote and you can't do that when you are when uh you are required to have photo identification when you vote so the safe act is literally a part of what the Democrats were planning on. President Trump laid it out like that in the State of the Union. It's what they're counting on to win back control. So John Thune finally said yesterday, quote, we will put the Democrats on the record. He said it's a stark contrast that Democrats, even in the chamber last night, having to sit there and try to defend non-citizens voting in American elections, that's a losing proposition, end quote.

So, you know, John Thune is going to force a vote now, and it's good, but it shouldn't just be a regular old vote. What Senator Mike Lee from Utah and many others have done have said is we need to get rid of the zombie filibuster and enact the standing filibuster. Before the vote, you should make them have to defend their position, make them have to stand up on the floor of the United States Senate. And if they want to delay a vote, you know, by using the filibuster means, make it be a standing or talking filibuster, not the zombie filibuster that they have been using in the past. So it's a really, really important time right now as we try to secure our elections. Okay, it is 526. It is also an important time to find out what's happening on Wall Street. I think the nine conservative justice is on the Supreme Court. We're rule in Ken Paxton's favor. And so I'm very confident that ultimately, Ken Paxton will be successful. Jared Woodville with Conservative Republicans of Texas says this is just a pet project for the radical lefts. Leftists, rather, on Commissioner's Court. And you can expect more anti-ice rhetoric from the Dems at court today. Precinct 1's Rodney Ellis has an item on the agenda to discuss, quote, cooperation between county law enforcement and the feds. Commissioner's Court starts at 9 a.m. Meantime, the plant east side homeless shelter near downtown is reportedly scheduled to open in June. Residents there are not happy. Not made worse. Coming up on 533, President Donald Trump wants the Senate to move the Save America Act to his desk requiring photo ID to vote. Majority Leader John Thune says he plans to do just that. and put Democrats between Iraq and a hard place. This is going to put them, I think, in a very difficult position. It's an issue. If I were running as a Democrat in the midterm elections in November, I wouldn't want to have to defend. That was John Thune on Fox. The House passed the bill earlier this month. Being time, still no end to the latest Democrat shutdown. DHS remains unfunded and basically in a partial government shutdown. And if a deal isn't reached in the next couple of days or so, TSA, Coast Guard, Secret Service, FEMA, they're going to start missing paychecks on Friday. Bill Malugian on Capitol Hill, the shutdown enters its third week tomorrow night. Houston Democrat Congressman Al Green faces a potential censure again for his antics during the state of the union. Meantime, Democrats are all mad at Pennsylvania Senator John Fetterman over him simply shaking Donald Trump's hand. If someone's angry that I shook the president's hand as he walked in, I think that's on.

New polling from UT shows Ken Paxton leading John Cornyn in the Republican Senate primary by two points in a race that's likely going to a May runoff. The attack ads, well, they keep on coming in the final days of the campaign. But just who is behind them? In many cases, it's unclear because the ads are funded by dark money. Political action committees are spending big butts in Texas, and it comes from anonymous donations. UT San Antonio Professor John Taylor says they're not supposed to coordinate with campaigns. But we know that occasionally that they do actually coordinate. Senate Democratic hopeful James Talarico says dark money is evil. But new finance reports show a super PAC called Lone Star Rising, which supports his campaign, has raised. more than $6 million. Sh ATRH's Rex Oates there. On the national front, a group of Republicans recently held a strategy session trying to maintain the majority in Congress. The RNC's Kirsten Pell says the number one issue, the economy. We're very aligned heading into this midterm year, and we have a lot on our end that we're going to do to make sure that the president has a full four years in office and that he's not cut off by Democrats regaining control. The president hits the campaign trail tomorrow in Corpus, and we'll have more on that tomorrow on Houston's morning news. Meantime, California's Gavin Newsom might have ended his 2028 campaign before it officially launched, thanks to an off-color remark about... Kamala Harris. You wouldn't know Kamala Harris without Willie Brown. That comment met with silence is desperation. He's got to try to chip away at her advantage in the polls. She is significantly ahead of him, double digits, in fact. That's what this is about. Kennedy Jr.. are all about. Dr. Casey Means is a part of Maha, and Dr. Casey Means wants to be the next surge in general. And so they're holding hearings on that because that is President Trump's choice. Boy, the Democrats are savaging her, suggesting she's unqualified because she doesn't believe in the traditional medical model, if you will. So she's a chief strategist behind the Make America Healthy Again movement, and she is urged tackling the root cause of chronic diseases rather than just treating the symptoms of those diseases. It's a classic battle between... different philosophies, if you will, of medicine. And lawmakers across the aisle, the Democrats, meaning yesterday, repeatedly press Dr. Means on vaccines, which she suggested should be a discussion between individuals and their doctors and not anything having to do with politics or with government intrusion. The Stanford educated physician dropped out of her surgical residency program in 2018, citing a belief that the health care system is broken. She went on to open up in alternative medicine practices. This is what I mean when I talk about different philosophies of medicine. She co-founded a health-tracking app. She wrote a bestselling book about health. Critics. of her as the potential surgeon general, including two former surgeons general, questioned her credentials, citing that her medical license lapsed in 2024, and that hundreds of thousands of dollars she reported, she reportedly made promoting health and wellness products are conflict of interests. And she did it sometimes without disclosing her business interests, again, say her critics. An October survey, so it's been a bit, what's that, four months-ish? found that 40%, 4 in 10 Americans, which is a steep rise, an increase in recent years, openly aligned with Make America Healthy Again and the movement, meaning questioning vaccines and turning toward alternative medicines because of the medical industrial complex. Of those 40%, 58%. of those parents do not trust U.S. health agencies to ensure vaccine safety and effectiveness. And that is, again, a core issue of Robert F. Kennedy Jr.. People will say he and they are anti-vax. They're not anti-vax. They are pro-vaccine.

choice and pro-vaccine safety and effectiveness. Once the true short and long-term studies of vaccines can be done and we see what the long-term side effects are, then absolutely go for it. But until then, you cannot make these things mandatory for kids or anyone else. All right, as promised, winners and losers from the State of the Union address on Tuesday night. Joining us is Dr. Bo Cabal, a political science professor at Tarlington State University. Professor, good morning. How are you? Good morning, doing well. Thanks so much for having me. Appreciate it. So let's talk about the big win, the big loss. Who were the biggest winners and losers from what you heard from the president on Tuesday night? Absolutely. So the president stayed laser focused on issues where he does, in fact, pull well, significantly better than in other areas. Crime, immigration, affordability. And he just, he hammered, right? And so notice there wasn't a lot of discussion of foreign policy. There was a brief reference to Iran. But overall, this was a domestic policy address with many emotionally resonant moments that spoke directly to the American people. Yeah, and it kind of needed to be, didn't it? Because he has spent an awful lot of, maybe an inordinate amount of his time in recent months dealing with foreign affairs and dealing with Iran and dealing with Venezuela and all of the other things that a lot of people here on the homeland are saying, hey, what about us? Well, that's a concern. And Darren Beattie and his folks at Revolver News have been covering some of this. And it looks like, you know, message delivered loud and clear on that, absolutely. So what would you say was the biggest takeaway? I felt like as I watched it, and I think a lot of people did too, that bear trap that the president walked the Democrats into, you know, saying, look, do you believe that the American people should come first before illegal aliens, if so stand up? And the entire Democrat Party stayed seated. That's a loud moment.

I think so. And Tom Bevin, you know, speculating on one of the Real Clear Politics podcast, you know, was that a Stephen Miller moment? Did somebody else come up with that? It doesn't matter. That will resonate. We will be talking about that moment. Now, in fairness, you know, is the president sort of introducing that kind of emotional resonance because he would like his approval, disapproval numbers? to be moving in a different, more robust direction, probably. But in terms of moments that we'll be talking about, think of others, Howard Dean, maybe George Bush in the 1988 campaign, Willie Horton. I mean, this was a resident moment that we will be talking about. Absolutely agree. There was another one as well, Dr. And give me an opinion on the trans story. He said, look, we cannot allow states to, because, you know, there's at least three states I'm aware of. There may be more. But I think Washington State, Oregon and California, the whole West Coast, if parents refuse to, quote, unquote, affirm their kids' delusions, their gender, you know, transformation choices, the state can take them away and put them in foster homes that will do such things. He said, you know, if you oppose that. Let me hear you. And again, after that, the moment was he looked down at them and said, these people are crazy. That's a moment. Yes. Well, that's definitely a moment. And so there's just questions sort of about, you know, was that partisan? Was it not partisan? I think it's an 80-20 issue and, you know, concerns about federalism and states' rights aside, the vast majority of the American people would, in my opinion, agree that parents should have some say in these kinds of decisions. And so... He cut through some of the constitutional federalism discussions. I think also on photo ID in elections and spoke directly, viscerally even, to the 80% of Americans who would agree. That's delusional to cut out parents entirely like that. Absolutely. No question about it. And then the last thing I would like to ask, Dr. We're talking if you just turned us on us, Dr. Bocabala, political science professor, did he do enough to convince the people in the midterm year that the quote-unquote affordability crisis, and it's a matter of opinion whether you thought it was a crisis to begin with, but what is called the affordability crisis, did he do enough to convince the people that that is over? And we are. on the uptick? You know, I think he's recognizing that, you know, this is a long game this year and it's not a one-off. He's going to have to continue to just hammer away at this. And I love when this president refers to official numbers, you know, the Bureau of Labor Statistics, and he rattled off, you know, a number of things, you know, gas prices, grocery items. In my opinion, when he does that and when he continues to do it.

It's when he's most effective and he engages directly with the American public. So I think there's a way to go to sort of, you know, not make the mistake the Biden administration made, which was we're going to not listen to the pain of the American people. We're going to pretend that everything is okay. But he is definitely started on that task of persuading and addressing the American public, as I saw it. Yeah, and you're right. It's not something you can do it tonight. It's just a matter of setting the table a little bit, and obviously the proof has to be in the pudding. And once I think the biggest message, too, and you can finish with your thoughts on this, Dr. Cabala, is the fact that the tax cuts and jobs act and all of the parts of the one big, beautiful bill that just got started on January 1st haven't really even kicked it in yet. And when they do, the economy should probably be put on quote-unquote warp speed. Absolutely. And Scott Bessent, Treasury Secretary, he's been making that point for President Trump to double down and really emphasize it. I mean, he's got those other affordability initiatives prohibiting big banks from buying up, you know, single family homes in mass. And message delivered, I think, from his advisors, from his own political sense to focus on that affordability, hammer away instead of talking about foreign policy. So I thought overall, very, very effective speech. Dr. Bo Caballo laying it out for his political science professor at Tarleton State University. Thank you, doctor. More reasonable and sensible than... I don't know, virtually every one of the Democrats. That's what John Fetterman has become. That clip, by the way, was a little bit more about why he was willing to stand and applaud and support many of the things that his fellow Democrats sat through during that. during that entire speech. The part about shaking his hand, however, I wanted to give you that too, and I just don't know if I can make it happen. Yeah, I think I can. Like I stood up and I clapped. No, that's the same one. He is willing to be respectful if there is ever going to be anybody who is able to, you know, bring about some sort of a... I don't know. That might be the way. So kudos to Senator John Fetterman. It wasn't that long ago. I remember thinking how crazy the people of Pennsylvania were electing somebody who no disrespect to the situation but had a brain injury and could not form sentences, could not campaign. And they elected him anyway. And I thought, what are you doing? So the 15th Court of Appeals says, yeah, your tax dollars can be used to help illegal aliens get representation to stay in the country. It is a bizarre situation that needs some explanation. Maybe Jared Woodfield can give it to us, conservative Republicans of Texas. Jared, good morning. Good morning, Bob. Great to be with you. Good to have you. Thank you so much. So tell me what this appeals court said. Well, you know, ultimately you have Harris County, Bear County, and a few others that have allocated a whole lot of our taxpayer dollars to lawyers to defend folks that are here illegally. So these are effectively civil cases where we are actually paying for people who are here illegally not to be deported. And so Ken Paxton, who's been very good on these issues, has gone through several trial courts. Unfortunately, have been unsuccessful in some of those battles. And this went to a new court, a new court that was... created in 2003. It's called the 15th Court of Appeals. And they concluded that this was not an unconstitutional gift and therefore county commissioners could do it. Ultimately, this case is going to a Texas Supreme Court. And I think the Texas Supreme Court is going to overwhelmingly reject commissioners spending millions of dollars in our hard-earned taxpayer funds to promote their progressive leftist agenda. But that's all it is. That's all this is really about. It's about a majority on county commissioners. court here in Harris County who have an agenda. But unfortunately, they're using our taxpayer dollars to fund that progressive agenda. Yeah, and that's the problem here. Judge Harris County, Judge Lina Hidalgo, at the time back in 2020, the original case said, quote, when you have a family at a deportation hearing and they don't have an attorney, they're deported at a much higher rate, like 90% of the time, end quote. Jared, I'm thinking, yeah, so? That's the point. That's the point of deportation hearings. When you hear illegally, you got to go. And the idea that we have to spend money to decrease that percentage of deportations is the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Well, yeah, I consider the source, too. Lina Hidalgo that tells you everything you need to know. She supports it, obviously, that she raised a red flag that we should all be against it. But think about it this way too, Bob. I mean, these are typically civil type cases. So if you had a breach of contract case, if you had just a minor auto wreck, would the county come in and pay for your lawyer? Of course not. That's how ridiculous this is. Now, in a criminal proceeding, if you're indigent and don't have the ability to afford attorney of state, we'll actually pay for one.

case. But here we have deportation proceedings where our taxpayer dollars are being used to allow people to stay here illegally. That's what's so wrong about what's happening at commissioner's courts. That's why the elections are so important and elections have consequences and it's so important that we change the majority of a commissioner's court here going into November. There's going to be a new AG after the election. This is obviously Ken Paxton's lawsuit there. Do you think anything changes with respect to how it's handled depending on that outcome? I think all of the candidates that are currently running for AG are committed to Ken Paxton's agenda with respect to this abuse of taxpayer funds. So I do think they'll continue to pursue it. I do think we will be successful at the Texas Supreme Court. So we're at the intermediate level of Court of Appeals, the 15th Corps of Appeals, and now it's going to the Texas Supreme Court. I think those nine conservative justices are going to realize how unconstitutional taking these funds, these taxpayer funds, and you. them to keep people here illegally, how much of abuse of our power of the Constitution and our taxpayer funds that really is. And they'll bring some sanity back to Harris County. You know, I sometimes try to flip the script here and pretend it's an American. You know, if I decided to move to Japan just to pick a country and I get there and they say, no, you can't come in here without permission. And I say, you need to spend your yen on getting me a lawyer that says I can. Wait, what? Not happening. I can't imagine that happening anywhere. And that's how crazy it is, and you put it right. This comes days after the county program giving taxpayer-funded lawyers to illegals was upheld by a state appeals court, which rejected Ken Paxton's lawsuit. They say that Ken Paxton hasn't proven the program is harming county residents. It's an example of commissioner's court using our dollars to promote their liberal agenda that works against the people of this county and this state. Jared Woodfield with conservative Republicans of Texas says these are benefits that American citizens don't even get. Say you're in an auto wreck. You had a breach of contract claim. I don't see commissioners court providing funding for your lawyer. Woodfield believes that Ken Paxton will appeal to the Texas Supreme Court and predicted he'd win. there. Most of the people who want help can get it right away at a shelter. We're talking about the homeless folks who want to be hanging out in the street, doing drugs or whatever. That's the population this place is supposed to serve. Investigative reporter Ray Indulchafino says residents were told that the area was going to be cleaned up and developed. Instead, this is what they're getting. More violent crime in the city, a man is shot and killed at a memorial area apartment complex. Last night, another man injured. Police believe this is drug-related. 633 President Trump put Vice President JD Vance in charge of the war on fraud during the state of the Union. JD Vance says honest taxpayers have been taken advantage of. We're allowing a few bad actors to get rich off that generosity of spirit instead of providing the services to the kids who need it. But if you run into a tree or a pole. uh it's going to be it's going to be weeks before you have to before you get your car back it's going to be weeks maybe much depending on whether it's uh you know what kind of parts it needs and so forth president trump came in and it wasn't just a knock and a ping in the economy where it couldn't just be fixed in a few minutes joe biden ran the economy into a poll all right he ran the economy into a tree whatever you want to call it It was enormously broken. And the fact that it isn't completely fixed one year into the Trump 47 term, and that is leading to the condemnation and the criticism of the policies of the administration by the left is just about one of the dumbest things that I think you can imagine. You can't really make any sense out of that. It's going to take a little while to fix something that was broken as badly as it was. But nonetheless, the administration is working hard, and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent is one of the best spokespersons for... this effort on the part of the administration. I can tell you, the president never stops working for the American people. And I think he made the point that he has brought down prices. He has brought down mortgage rates, the large tax cuts. I'm also the IRS commissioner. I can tell you the 47 percent, 47 percent of the returns we're getting, Kristen, have one of his four signature policies, no tax and tips, no tax and over.

time, no tax and social security, deductibility of auto loans. So Americans are feeling that. And I think we will see we're going to have very large refunds and Americans will change their withholding. And I think that they are going to see it. We saw a big jump way, way above expectations in consumer confidence today. And Chris, the important thing was it's in the forward expectations. So if the Democrats want to run on the economy in November, bring it on. Bring it on. And I think that's a great message. Again, not everybody is seeing or feeling everything, or I'm sorry, not everybody understands what they are receiving right now in terms of economic growth and opportunities because the media won't tell them. And the media continues to say there's an affordability crisis. You say it enough times, you make it true. It's self-fulfilling. But the reality is costs are lower. Inflation is from the 5% average during the four Biden years down to 2.7%. now. And more Americans are going to have more money, wages are rising, more of their taxes, or excuse me, less money to, of their paychecks are going into taxes because of the one big, beautiful bill, and all of these things will indeed lead to an economic revival. But like I said, you can't ram a car into a bridge and then expect it to be ready that afternoon. It's going to take a little bit more work. All right, 640. Let's do traffic and weather now. Now 703, Republicans say the state of the union was one of the best ever, but it remains to be seen if it'll help Republican chances in the midterms. Political analyst Jeff Carrere says Trump was able to reset the narrative for the GOP. We've got a long way to go. They've got to certainly get out there with their messaging. And I think President Trump is going to play a big role in the midterms. He's going to be going all over the country and making this midterm sort of a referendum on him, which I think will give Republicans a better chance. Even a CNN poll after the speech showed a strong majority supporting the policies that Trump laid out. Trump in Texas tomorrow in Corpus ahead of the primaries, tomorrow also the last day of early voting in Texas. The casino gambling industry, which has been unsuccessful trying to break into Texas, is spending big this cycle to try and change their luck. The question is, will all of this big spending actually pay off for them? In a state the size of Texas with no legalized gambling, they see a great opportunity here. To them, it's almost like pocket change to fund these candidates over several cycles. Political consultant Steve Hilding with RMC says he believes the gambling lobby is playing the long game. They are certainly supporting the candidates, but they are also spending millions of dollars in public affairs work. Billboards across the state working very hard to change the public perception. Hilding predicted that within 10 years, there will be some form of casino gambling in Texas. Ethan Buchanan, News Radio 740, KTRH. And at Tuesday State of the Union, President Trump promised a new retirement plan for what he called the forgotten American worker. Trump announced Americans without a company retirement plan could potentially retire like federal workers do, with a government matching contributions up to $1,000 a year. Finance expert Derek Kinney says they'll need to iron out the details. Will it contribute to the debt? Will people participate? How easy is it for people to put money into it? The program could pay off twofold. It could help save Social Security and give them a higher sense of financial security.

A Biden judge. A Biden appointed judge, federal judge, has ruled that President Trump isn't allowed to deport illegal aliens to countries other than their own. Judge Brian Murphy of Massachusetts, appointed to the bench by the auto pen of Joe Biden, ruled yesterday. that the White House policy of rapidly deporting foreign nationals to so-called third countries is illegal. The ruling marks the latest courtroom setback for the administration's deportation agenda. I'm just going to say this out loud. It's amazing how many different forces there are working against national sovereignty. Between all of the lunatic, the purple-haired, skinny jeans, man-bunwear and lunatics, you know, outdoing protests against ICE to these activists who should be out there,

investing alongside them in courtrooms, masquerading in black robes. It is amazing to me the number of people who are trying to say the United States is an open country that anybody can come and go as they please. And any time we try to gain control over that and boot them out after coming in illegally, we can't do it. I'm blown away by that aspect of this. In a lengthy 81-page ruling, Judge Murphy concluded that the rapid removal of illegal migrants to third parties did not provide them with meaningful opportunity to raise fears of persecution or other legitimate concerns. In other words, it's a due process thing, and nobody gives a Rats Red A about their fears of persecution. Why? Because they didn't all come from Mexico or Canada. You understand what that means? The rules say the rules in the United States law say that we are going to provide asylum for people seeking it if they are legitimately being persecuted in their country. But we are going to do so, and this is the agreement among nations, you flee to the first nation that is not persecuting you. You flee to the first nation that is not your nation. You don't get to nation shop and come to the gold standard United States by coming from around the world using Mexico as a land bridge and getting here. If you make it in New Mexico and you're from Venezuela or if you're from Syria, I don't care if you're from Finland. If you make it in New Mexico on the way to the United States, you are no longer in the nation that was persecuting you. You're in a different nation. You stay there. You make your asylum petition there. That's how it's supposed to work. And that's all President Trump has done. Taking all of these illegals making bogus and phony coached asylum claims because they can't go back to their own home country, fine. There's an old adage. I used to be a bouncer, and I heard it many, many times in the years that I was doing that. At the end of the night at 2 o'clock, all right, everybody, last call, remember, you don't have to go home, but you can't stay here. That's got to be on the letterhead at the White House now. You know what? Illegal aliens? When we find you, you don't have to go home. You don't have to go to your home country if you don't like Haiti or if you don't like wherever it is you came from, but you can't stay here. All right, so the president's political team had a big high-level strategy session yesterday focused on avoiding the historic midterm losses that typically hit the new president's party. Polster Tony Fabrizio said that the economy is going to be the decisive issue in 2026. Is the president and are the Republicans ready for that fight over the economy? Joining us not to analyze. RNC committeemen, Dr. Robin Armstrong. Doctor, good morning. How are you? Good morning. I'm doing well. Thank you. So, you know, I did an analogy a little bit earlier on. You know, if your car's got a little ping in the engine, you can get it fixed that afternoon. But if you ram it into a tree, it's going to take a long time to fix. Biden ram the economy into a tree. Do you think the American people will see that and recognize it's still going to take a little time, but Trump has the answers? I think they will. I think they will. And I think this year gives us a great opportunity to showcase that. You know, people will vote based on how they feel. And the Biden economy just really just weaken folks. It just lower their money in their bank accounts. And so they feel that. And they're still feeling that today. I think what's going to happen this year, we're going to see interest rates come down. We're going to see all these trade deals that the president made last year start to kick in. And I think we're going to see a significant uptick in the economy. The American people are going to feel that, and we're going to retain the House. It's going to take a lot of work. We've got to get Republicans out to vote. We've got to get Republicans motivated and excited and get independence and those voters who are just feeling the hurt of this economy over the last year and a half. We've got to get those guys feeling the strength of this economy. Now, the numbers show the economy is doing well. But people don't feel that yet. I think they're going to start feeling it by the middle of this year. That's the point. I'm glad you brought that up, Dr. Armstrong, because it is about how people feel. I see the numbers. The Biden economy averaged 5% inflation over four years, a peak of 9.1%. Trump already has it down to 2.7. So the numbers say, we're doing well. But what you just said is real. People don't see it or feel it all the time at the grocery store or if they're shopping for a home.

Absolutely. And I think, and you can see that in his state of the union speech. President Trump actually knows that and communicates that. He talked about affordability and homes, home prices for young people. He talked about bringing health care costs down and his prescription medication plan. So these are all things that hit people in their pocketbook. I believe they're going to be, they're being addressed now. And I believe people are going to start to feel that. You know, we're going to see. The benefit of all this manufacturing jobs coming back, we're going to start building this year. It's going to be a fantastic year, our 250th anniversary of America. We're certainly going to start seeing a significant economic uptick, and we're going to need to see that to retain the House. History is against us, but I think that the economic cycle is with us, and I think it's going to prove to be good for Republicans this fall. Yeah, history is against us. I agree. And so is the media. And that's a problem here, too. You know, I think it can be a self-fulfilling prophecy. The more times you hear the economy is struggling, affordability is a crisis. The more times you hear it over and over and over again, the more you start to believe it and it becomes embedded into your subconscious, even if things are much better. So the messaging war for the next eight months is going to be crucial, right? Absolutely. It is absolutely essential that we speak with one voice as Republicans. Certainly we can't control the way the president speaks. He's going to say what he's going to say and he's going to say a lot of good things for us. But you know, he's going to rub some people the wrong way at times by telling the truth. But I think what we have to do as Republican strategists is we have to make sure that we're out there speaking. speaking, telling how the economy really is going. We have to start saying, hey, listen, this economy is strong. It's going to be stronger. And then as people feel that, they're less subject to the lies that the media will tell. The media is always going to be against us. and they're always going to tell lies against us. But if they're not feeling that, then they won't vote that way. Yeah, that's a great point. You know, the media is always going to be an enemy. And the last thing, if I could, before you go, Dr. Armstrong, aside from the economy, that is huge, though. You know, the border security aspect is President Trump's Ballywick. That, you know, that's what he ran on. That's what he did. Zero crossings in the last nine months, massive deportation numbers. They don't buy the story that, oh, don't worry, we're going to be there to make sure that those homeless folks don't bother you. Investigative reporter Wayne Dolchafino says residents there feel like they've been betrayed. It's 733. President Donald Trump wants the U.S. Senate to move on the Save America Act requiring photo ID to vote. Majority Leader John Thune says he plans to do that and put Dems between a rock and a hard place. This is going to put them, I think, in a very difficult position. It's an issue. If I were running as a Democrat in November, I wouldn't want to have to defend. Meantime, there's still no end in sight to the latest Democrat shutdown. DHS remains unfunded and basically in a partial government shutdown. reached in the next couple of days or so, TSA, Coast Guard, Secret Service, FEMA, they're going to start missing paychecks on Friday. If you believe the new polling from UT, Ken Paxton leads John Cornyn in the Senate primary by two points. The attack ads, though, keep on coming in the final days of the primary campaign, but just who is behind them? In many cases, it's unclear because the ads are funded by dark money. Political action committees are spending big butts in Texas, and it comes from anonymous donations. U.T. San Antonio Professor John Taylor says they're not supposed to coordinate with campaigns. But we know that occasionally that they do actually coordinate. Senate Democratic hopeful James Talarico says dark money is evil. But new finance reports show a super PAC called Lone Star Rising, which supports his campaign, has raised more than $6 million. KTRH's Rex Oates. Nationally, a group of Republicans recently held a strategy session about the midterms. The RNC's Kirsten Pell says the top issue will be the economy. We're very aligned heading into this midterm year, and we have a lot on our end that we're going to do to make sure that the president has a full four years in office and that he's not cut off by Democrats regaining control. President Trump will campaign in Corpus Christi tomorrow. Meantime, California's Gavin Newsom might have ended his... 2008 campaign before it started. All because of a joke about Kamala Harris. You wouldn't know Kamala Harris without Willie Brown. That comment met with silence is desperation. He's got to try to chip away at her advantage in the polls. She is significantly ahead of him, double digits, in fact. That's what this is about. GOP strategist Jennifer Kelly says this is part of a 35-year dance between the two who had similar rises, and he's been upset at the backlash because the California curtain's gone. They don't really have a press court out there that check. them on things because it is a one-party rule state. She says Gavin Newsom's underestimating how hard this run will be. since we just did the story on Gavin Newsom, who wants to be president of the United States in 2028, more than I think anything in the entire, more than anyone wants anything in the world. Gavin Newsom wants to be president. That's why I launched his little podcast, excuse me, to try to, you know, pander to as many different groups as possible. So this one resurfaced yesterday after Gavin Newsom's extraordinarily racist gath in which he told a black audience. Atlanta that he's just like them. He can't read either. And he can't take tests well either. He only scored a 960 on his SAT. So he's just like them. Outside of the offensiveness of this, the dishonesty of it is next level. Because he said, you've never seen me read a speech or heard me read a speech because I can't read a speech. Because he says he has extreme dyslexia. But yet, when interviewing on his podcast, two authors of a 260-page book that took 11 hours, 11 hours to be read as an audiobook. He bragged about reading it in an hour and a half. You've written a hell of a book, and I don't say that lightly. I went through it. a quick hour and a half, almost two hours, and trust me, I don't read very fast, but it reads at an unbelievable pace. How did he read a 260-page book in 90 minutes that took literally 11 hours? The audio tape for that book, the audiobook, is 11 hours long. It took them 11 hours to read that at a comfortable pace for people to listen to on audiobook. He says he took that 11-hour book and just digested it in 90 minutes. An hour and a half, maybe two hours, he said. But then he's telling another group that he can't read because his dyslexia and Ted Cruz should be ashamed of bringing up his illiteracy. And of course, Cruz did not. He said he was historically illiterate, not actually illiterate. But you do understand the point. This guy is as dirty and oily and snakey as anything slick Willie Clinton ever was back in the early 1990s. And he is so dishonest, it is unbelievable. So I'm just following up on that story, yeah, Gavin, this is going to be a lot harder than you ever thought. Every time you open your mouth, you stick your foot in. And by the way, may I ask this?
